To overcome the shortcomings of activated bleaching clay in the decolorization of edible oil industry, such as high operating temperature, large residual oil ratio, and difficulty in the disposal of waste bleaching clay, this work developed the super-strong adsorbent material, graphene, as a new type of adsorbent for the decolorization of rapeseed oil. Graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) and graphene oxide (GO) were characterized by scanning electron microscope. Fourier infrared spectrometer and Raman spectrometer, etc After clarifying the structural characteristics of graphene, they were used for the decolorization of rapeseed oil, and the effects of graphene species, addition amount, pressure, temperature, and reaction time on the decolorization of rapeseed oil were investigated. The results showed that GNP was more effective in rapeseed oil decolorization compared with GO and exhibited unique adsorption properties for chlorophyll in oil at low temperature (45 ℃). The one-factor results showed that GNP could remove 80.6% of chlorophyll in oil under the optimized conditions of GNP addition of 2.0%, temperature of 45 ℃ and adsorption time of 5 min. GNP as adsorbent for oil decolorization has the advantages of low reaction temperature and short adsorption time, which could have the potential application prospects in low temperature moderate processing of oils and fats.

Thermal cooking is one of the major application scenarios of edible oils in Chinese cooking. Cooking oil fume (COF), which is generated from edible oils during thermal cooking, is a complex mixture of solid particles, liquid droplets and gaseous volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and COF imposes adverse effects on both the indoor atmosphere and human health. In the present review, we first elucidate the compositional characteristics of the two major harmful substances in COF, particulate matter (PM) and VOCs and their emission status during the thermal cooking of edible oils, and then summarize the influences of COF exposure on human respiratory diseases and other related health risks. Next, the major factors that affect the composition and emission characteristics of COF are discussed from the perspectives of thermal cooking methods, types of cooking ingredients, and the quality and basic properties of edible oils. Finally, an outlook is given on the optimization of edible oil processing technologies based on the compositional characteristics of COF and the development of new processing technologies, raw materials and pathways for future edible oils in the future in order to achieve precise and moderate processing of edible oils that is green with low energy consumption and to produce high-quality, nutritious and healthy edible oils for use in Chinese cooking. This review could provide some references for the future development of edible oil and fat processing technologies, and may be of guiding significance to improving the nutritional quality and safety of edible oils and fats and even helping to achieve the national strategic goals of “Healthy China” and “Double Carbon”.

Edible oils and fats are the important dietary nutrients for human body, and play a vital roles in maintaining nutritional health for the hosts. Whereas, the unhealthy oils and fats intake would lead to the increase of the risks of chronic metabolic diseases, which has become a serious public health challenge for the present society. The oilomics, integrating genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, lipomics as the major analytical methods, have been becoming on important approach to elucidate the host nutritional and metabolic regulation mechanisms, and realize the personalized nutrition of human body based on the functional characteristics of dietary factors. The present review manuscript illustrated the basic concepts of oilomics, and the major research approaches of oilomics in the areas of edible oil nutrition and human health. Moreover, the research progress of oilomics in oil nutrition and host health research were also summarized, primarily, focusing on elaborating the nutrients metabolic regulation, the enteral nutrition and gut homeostasis, as well as the personalized nutrition of the humans. In view of the current research status, the future trends of the development of oilomics were further prospected, at the aim of which is to provide references for expanding the applications of oilomics in lipid nutrition and human health. The overall nutrition level of the nationwide residents will be improved, and the construction of healthy China will be promoted.

Oil is a significant source of fatty acids and various trace functional components, and plays a vital role in regulating human health. The macro- and micro-components in oils are closely related to nutritional health. This paper introduces the future development goals and strategies of healthy oils from two aspects of precise nutrition and moderate processing. Firstly, precise nutrition based on life cycle and physiological state is a priority research area of lipid science. On the other hand, moderate processing will retain nutrients such as vitamin E, phytosterols, and squalene to a greater extent, and avoid the formation of risk factors such as trans fatty acids, 3-chloropropanol esters, and glycidyl esters. Moderate processing not only ensures the safety of oil, but also reduces the loss of healthy and beneficial fat concomitants, which is the development direction of oil engineering research. Therefore, under the dual demands of nutrition and safety, accurate nutrition and moderate processing of oils will help the implementation of "Healthy China" and "Double- Carbon" strategies. Future healthy oils will not only provide basic nutrition and flavor, but also give specific health functions to people with different life cycles, such as infants, children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, and maintain the homeostasis of people with different physiological states including pregnant and lactating women.

In order to solve the problem of grasping failure or missing grasping due to the change of target gangue position and posture caused by belt slip, deviation and belt speed fluctuation of belt conveyor when the gangue sorting robot sorts gangue, an improved ORB-FLANN efficient matching method of gangue recognition image and sorting image is proposed. An improved ORB feature point detection method is proposed to detect the feature points in the recognition image and sorting image of coal gangue, so as to realize fast detection of image feature points; An improved FLANN matching algorithm is proposed to match the image feature points to achieve efficient matching between the recognition image of coal gangue and the sorting image. Aiming at the problem of long time and low repetition rate of traditional ORB method for coal gangue image feature detection, an improved ORB feature detection method is proposed to improve the speed and repetition rate of image feature point detection; Aiming at the low accuracy of traditional FLANN matching method for coal gangue image matching, an improved FLANN matching method integrating PROSAC algorithm is proposed to eliminate the wrong feature matching point pairs and improve the accuracy of image matching. The method, SURF feature matching method, HU moment invariant matching method, SIFT feature matching method and ORB feature matching method are applied on the experimental platform of the double mechanical arm truss type gangue sorting robot independently developed by the team to carry out gangue matching experiments under different belt speeds, scales and rotation angles. The results show that the matching rate of the method in this paper is 98.2%, and the matching time is 141 ms. It has the characteristics of high matching rate, good real-time performance and strong robustness, It can meet the requirements of efficient and accurate matching of gangue recognition image and sorting image.

Objective Borehole Televiewer (BHTV) imaging serves as an effective tool for analyzing deep rock formations in geological engineering, offering crucial insights into surface discontinuity extensions and the distribution of buried discontinuities, especially within complex geological environments associated with hydraulic engineering projects. Recognizing the current issues of subjectivity and low efficiency, prevalent in the manual calculation of rock discontinuity morphological characteristics within rock masses, we propose an intelligent approach for segmenting geometric data from digital borehole images. Leveraging the segmentation outcomes, an image thinning technique is employed to facilitate precise quantitative analysis of borehole data. Methods In this research, we employ deep learning models to intelligently identify fractures within BHTV images, utilizing various network structures such as Unet, SegNet, and DeepLabV3. The recognition results are compared with traditional image processing methods, demonstrating the advantages of deep models in accurately segmenting complex geological images. Furthermore, we enhance the model's performance by incorporating an attention mechanism into the encoder-decoder process.Once precise segmentation of rock discontinuities is achieved, the fracture skeleton is extracted using the image thinning method, representing fractures as one-pixel-width curves. Ultimately, automated calculations is completed for dip strike, dip angle, and fracture thickness. Results This method is applied to segment and calculate borehole televiewer images in hydraulic engineering. Comparing the results of manual extraction and automatic extraction of fracture information, the error of dip strike and dip angle is less than 3°, and the fracture thickness error is less than 0.65 mm. Conclusion The results verify that the intelligent calculation method of fracture information proposed in this paper. The proposed method has wide application prospects in hydraulic engineering.

As one of the top “five major hazards” in coal mines, water hazards have become the second leading cause of danger for coal mine safety and worker lives, next only to gas accidents. Between 2000 and 2022, a total of 1206 water hazard accidents occurred in coal mines in China, resulting in 5018 deaths, among which 103 larger-scale events resulted in 2039 deaths. In order to identify accident patterns, summarize lessons learned, and promote prevention of water hazard accidents, various aspects were analyzed statistically, including geographical regions, years, seasons, hydrogeological types, water sources, and ownership of coal mines. Analyses revealed that the complexity of hydrogeological conditions highly correlated with the frequency of water-related accidents. Southern China recorded the highest number of incidents and casualties, and the peak incidence periods throughout the year mainly concentrated in March to May and July to August. Goaf water was identified as the primary source of water filling, which presented strong concealment and harm, mainly occurring in township-owned coal mines with weaker technical exploration and management capabilities. As for the causes of accidents, complex mining environments and insufficient attention subjectively, i.e., improper management and illegal mining, were the main reasons for accidents. Hidden water-bearing structures such as point-like collapse columns and linear fault structures, as well as goaf water that were not explored and placed in accordance with regulations, were identified as the main technical causes of accidents. By analyzing bibliometrics, it was found that current research themes focusing on coal mine water disasters align well with the principles of “predicting and forecasting, exploring if in doubt, exploring before mining, treating before mining”. To address the problems of “unclear risk assessment, inaccurate risk identification, and incapability to cope with accidents” in coal mine water disasters, corresponding countermeasures were proposed in three aspects: surveying filling factors and hidden geological factors causing disasters, analyzing three-dimensional hydrogeological conditions of filling water, and implementing an accurate classification source prevention. In response to the trend of informationization and intelligent development of water disaster prevention and control, technical measures such as transparent mines, water disaster monitoring and early warning, and emergency rescue were proposed.

Lung cancer ranks the first cancer-related morbidity and mortality in China. With the development and penetration of imaging technology, increasing small pulmonary peripheral Nodules (SPPNs) have been detected. However, precise location and diagnosis of SPPNs is still a tough problem for clinical diagnosis and treatment in department of thoracic surgery. With the development of electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (ENB), it provides a novel minimally invasive method for the diagnosis and treatment of SPPNs. In this review, we summarized the application and progress of ENB in preoperative positioning, diagnosis, and local treatment, then, discussed the clinical application of ENB in the hybrid operating room.

In order to study the microstructure evolution of the formed parts in the axial vibration cold extrusion process， the microstructure evolution process of the blank in the axial cold extrusion process is simulated by using the cellular automata method. It is found that the average grain size of internal spline processed by cold extrusion with auxiliary vibration is significantly smaller than that without auxiliary vibration. The effects of vibration frequency，vibration amplitude and extrusion speed on the microstructure of the formed parts are analyzed by orthogonal test. The results of variance analysis show that the vibration amplitude has the most significant influence on the average grain size at the tooth root，and the most significant influence on the grain size at the pitch circle and the top of the tooth is the vibration frequency and extrusion speed， the vibration frequency has the most significant influence on the average grain uniformity at the root and pitch circle of the formed part， and the extrusion speed has the most significant influence on the grain uniformity of the tooth top. The mechanism of the effect of auxiliary vibration parameters on grain refinement is summarized.

In addition to rare incidence of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and c-ros oncogene 1 receptor kinase (ROS1) positive patients, patients with brain metastases of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) sensitive mutation have no effective systemic therapy at present, and the overall prognosis is poor. Since the low blood-brain barrier permeability of chemotherapy drugs, the local treatment plays an important role in brain metastases. To understand the clinical characteristics and treatment of brain parenchymal metastases in patients with NSCLC and EGFR mutation negative, we reviewed the incidence, onset time, site, numbers, size, symptom, therapeutic effect and disease evolution in them, which can provide reference for interventional timing and local treatment technology selection of local treatment for brain parenchymal metastases.

Aiming at the sliding phenomenon between the cycloidal gear and pinwheel in the actual meshing process of the cycloid pinwheel transmission，a novel cycloid tooth profile modeling method，in which using a sliding function to represent the slide between the pinwheel and the cycloidal gear in the cycloid pinwheel transmission，is proposed. Based on the differential geometry and gear meshing theory，the tooth profile equation of the rolling-sliding cycloidal gear is derived，the meshing function is determined，the calculation method of comprehensive curvature radius and contact stress of the rolling-sliding cycloidal gear are given. A new cycloid tooth profile，based on hypothetical sliding function which parameters are selected with experience，is constructed. The tooth profile，comprehensive curvature radius and contact stress of the new tooth profile and that of the standard cycloidal tooth profile are compared. A rolling-sliding cycloid gear is trial-produced and applied to the RV reducer，the accelerated fatigue test under 2.5 times load on the prototype of new RV reducer is completed. The deviation of the rolling-sliding cycloid tooth profile before and after the test is compared，and the result shows the correctness and feasibility of the new modeling method for the rolling-sliding cycloid tooth profile.

In order to master the vortex-induced vibration laws of marine riser system, the generalized α method was developed to solve the cylinder vibration equation, and the stability of the solution method was enhanced. After the flow field equation was solved by the improved Characteristic Based Split (CBS), a fluid-solid coupling finite element method was developed to calculate the problem of vortex-induced vibration. In addition, the accuracy and stability of the solution method were verified using a benchmark example. Finally, this solution method was applied to numerically simulate the vortex-induced vibration process of two staggered circular cylinders under various working conditions at low Reynolds number. The results show that when the attack angle is small, the vortex shedding from the upstream cylinder interacts directly with the downstream cylinder, which increases the pressure difference between the upper and lower surfaces of the downstream cylinder, resulting in large-scale vortex-induced vibration. And at this moment, the vibrating frequency of the downstream cylinder is dominated by the shedding process of the vortex from the upstream cylinder. When the attack angle is large, the downstream cylinder will be separated from the wake region of the upstream cylinder, and its flow field, force and vibrating frequency are close to the case of single cylinder. The research results can provide some reference for the layout of marine riser system in engineering practice.

At present， the design and manufacture of the domestic spline cold roll forming machine are mainly based on the experimental data， and theoretical studies are still insufficient. Taking the vertical spline cold roll forming machine for example， the design and analysis methods are studied. Based on the calculation of the forming force， the overall layout and machine tool body structure of vertical spline cold roll forming machine are given. According to the forming force data obtained by simulation as well as the working conditions and force analysis for the sliding table and screw， the key parts of the transmission system are designed. The static and dynamic characteristics of the machine tool are also analyzed by strength and modal analysis for the vertical spline cold roll forming machine.

Objective To investigate the effect of hematoma puncture and catheter drainage on perihematomal cerebral hemodynamics in patients with spontaneous supratentorial intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Methods A total of 30 patients with spontaneous supratentorial ICH underwent hematoma puncture and catheter drainage. CT perfusion imaging (CTP) was used to determine regions of interest (ROIs) in the central hematoma, perihematomal edema (PHE), peripheral PHE (1 cm from the margin of PHE) and remote cortex in both hematoma side and enantiomorphic contralateral side. Cerebral blood flow (CBF), cerebral blood volume (CBV), mean transit time (MTT) and time to peak (TTP) of ROIs were measured. Results 1) Different degrees of hypoperfusion existed in perihemtomal brain tissue after ICH: compared with enantiomorphic contralateral side, CBF (P = 0.000) and CBV (P = 0.000) were significantly decreased, MTT was prolonged (P = 0.000), while peak was not reached in the central hematoma; CBF (P = 0.000) and CBV (P = 0.000) were significantly decreased, while MTT was prolonged in PHE (P = 0.000);CBF (P = 0.000) and CBV (P = 0.000) were significantly decreased in peripheral PHE of hematoma side. There was no significant difference on CBF, CBV, MTT and TTP in remote cortex between hematoma side and enantiomorphic contralateral side (P > 0.05, for all). 2) The perfusion parameters showed stepped change from central hematoma to remote cortex: CBF and CBV showed a gradual increase (P < 0.05, for all), and MTT showed a gradual decrease from central hematoma to remote cortex of hematoma side (P < 0.05, for all), while TTP showed no significant difference (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference on CBF, CBV, MTT and TTP among central hematoma, PHE, peripheral PHE and remote cortex of enantiomorphic contralateral side (P > 0.05, for all). 3) CBF (P = 0.000) and CBV (P = 0.000) in PHE after operation were significantly higher than those before operation. PURPOSE: To evaluate the clinical effectiveness and feasibility of immediate implant-supported mandibular overdentures retained by conical crowns. METHODS: In this study, 10 patients with edentulous mandible were included. They were restored by traditional complete denture before operation. All patients received 4 dental implants in the inteforaminal region and had the implants loaded with all overdenture prostheses retained by conical crowns at that day. All patients were followed up for 2,4,8,12,24,48 weeks. The stability of implants, the state of peri-implant soft-tissue, marginal bone resorption, the state of osseointegration of implants, and patient satisfaction were evaluated. RESULTS: A total of 40 implants were loaded immediately. All implants had osseointegration. No infections of peri-implant soft-tissue occurred, no implants exhibited peri-implant radio lucencies, marginal bone had no resorption. The patients were satisfied with the outcomes. CONCLUSION: The results of this clinical trial suggest that immediate loading of the implants by conical crowns to support overdenture prostheses for edentulous mandible is predictable, if primary implant stable is enough. Background and objective DNA repair gene polymorphisms can be used to predict the sensitivity of platinum-based chemotherapy. Thus, such polymorphisms are important for the individual treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between X-ray repair cross complementing protein 1 (XRCC1) and X-ray repair cross complementing protein 3 (XRCC3) gene polymorphisms and the chemosensitivity of platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with advanced NSCLC. Methods Genomic DNA were extracted from the sera of a total of 130 patients with advanced NSCLC who received platinum-based chemotherapy. XRCC1 Arg194 Trp, Arg399 Gln, and XRCC3 Thr241 Met were genotyped using the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method, and the relationship between XRCC1 and XRCC3 polymorphisms and chemotherapy sensitivity was analyzed. Results A total of 130 patients with advanced NSCLC received platinum-based chemotherapy, with an overall response rate of 33.8% after two chemotherapy cycles. The XRCC1 194 and 399 genetic polymorphisms, but not XRCC3 241, were found to be related to the chemosensitivity. The objective response rate of the patients with at least one XRCC1 194 Trp allele was 2.5 times higher than that of Arg/Arg genotype carriers (42.1% vs 22.2%, OR=2.545, 95%CI: 1.159-5.590, P=0.020). The objective response rate of the XRCC1 399 Arg/Arg genotype carriers was significantly higher than that of the patients with at least one Gln allele (45.5% vs 21.9%, OR=0.336, 95%CI: 0.156-0.722, P=0.005). Combined effects between XRCC1 194 and XRCC1 399 were observed. The objective response rate of the patients with at least one XRCC1 194 Trp allele and a 399 Arg/Arg genotype was significantly higher than that of patients with 194 Arg/Arg and 399 Arg/Gln genotypes (44.4% vs 18.8%, OR=3.467, 95%CI: 1.223-9.782, P=0.019). Moreover, XRCC1 and XRCC3 have a combined effect in predicting chemosensitivity. Patients with XRCC3 241 Thr/Met, 399 Arg/Arg, and at least one XRCC1 194 Trp allele simultaneously showed an improved objective response rate. Conclusion The combination of the XRCC1 and XRCC3 polymorphisms may be associated with patient sensitivity to platinum-based chemotherapy in advanced NSCLC.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of maxillary sinus elevation with gene-enhanced tissue engineering bone in dogs., Methods: bone marrow stromal cells (BMSC) derived from dog marrow were cultured, and transduced with the adenovirus carrying bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) gene (AdBMP-2), the adenovirus carrying green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene (AdGFP) in vitro. The bone formation ability of gene modified BMSC with scaffold was examined in nude mice and in elevated maxillary sinus of dog. Student's t-test was used for statistical analysis with SPSS 11.0 software package., Results: Gene transfection efficiency reached up to (83.95 ± 2.43)% as demonstrated by GFP expression. Ectopic bone formation was detected in nude mice. As for maxillary sinus floor elevation in a dog model, new bone formation area in the AdBMP-2 gene transduced BMSC with Bio-Oss group was significantly higher than in BMSC with Bio-Oss group at 120 d (P < 0.05)., Conclusions: AdBMP-2 gene transduced BMSC can stimulate ectopic bone formation in nude mice, and promote bone formation and maturation in the dog maxillary sinus.

Objective: To study effects of different intraabdominal pressure of carbon dioxide (Cq2) pneumoperitoneum on hemorrheology and microcirculation in rabbits., Methods: Eighteen female healthy rabbits weighing 2.2 kg to 3.5 kg were randomly divided into three groups equally based on pneumoperitoneum pressure: 0 mmHg group (group I),10 mmHg group (group II) and 15 mmHg (group III). Each group received 1 h pneumoperitoneum under different pressure. Blood samples were taken at 5 min before CO2 pneumoperitoneum, at 30 and 60 min after pneumoperitoneum for the measurements of indexes of hemorrheology. Hemodynamics including heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP) and the volume and velocity of the microcirculation of auricle were continuously monitored, such indexes were recorded at the related time., Results: Afer pneumoperitoneum at 30 and 60 min, compared with group I, HR, MAP, the whole blood viscosity, the aggregation and rigid indexes of RBC were significantly raised in group II (P < 0.05), the deformability indexes of RBC, the volume and velocity of the microcirculation were markedly decreased (P < 0.05). Even more significant changes were observed in group III (P < 0.01). The plasma viscosity and the hematocrit changed little., Conclusion: After CO2 pneumoperitoneum, hemorrheology is decreased; Although HR, MAP are raised, the volume and velocity of the microcirculation are decreased.

Objective: To evaluate the contribution of the deep circumflex iliac arterial vascularized iliac bone grafting to the reconstruction of the blood supply of the femoral head through the digital subtraction angiography (DSA) or computied tomographic scanning angiography (CTA) of the both deep circumflex iliac artery and ECT, MRI judgement., Methods: Forty-five patients with the intracapsular fracture of femoral neck included 30 males and 15 females with an average age of 36.5 years ranging from 16 to 50. The course was from 6 to 25 days(means 10.2 days). There were 20 cases of sub-headfractures, 10 cases of head-neck, 15 cases of trans-neck. All patients were treated by 3 titanium alloy cannulated screws and deep circumflex iliac arterial vascularized iliac bone grafting. A follow-up for an average of 3 years and 6 months was performed. The engorging of the artery and reconstruction of the blood supply of the femoral head was viewed dynamicly,using digital subtraction angiography (DSA) or computied tomographic scanning angiography (CTA) of the both deep circumflex iliac artery and ECT, MRI judgement of the femoral head., Results: Three weeks after operation, 38 transferred arteries were engorging via DSA, 2 of 7 not via CTA, but engorging via DSA. One year later after operation, all arteries were engorging via DSA or CTA. ECT examination in 3, 6, 12 months after operation displayed nuclide enriching in the femoral head and distributing uniformity. The region of interest (ROI) ratios of the fractured head of femur to contralateral counterpart (D/N) in all cases > 1.0. The average D/N after 3 months was (2.12 +/- 0.21), (2.04 +/- 0.14) after 6 months, (l1.71 +/- 0.11) after 12 months. There was statistical differation between D/N after 12 months and 3 or 6 months (P < 0.05), but not between 3 and 6 months (P > 0.05), and MRI examination in all cases no founded decreasing of the density and changing of the form of the femoral head., Conclusion: DSA, CTA, ECT, MRI confirmed that the deep circumflex iliac arterial vascularized iliac bone can provide effective blood supply and is profit to the reconstruction of the blood supply of the femoral head after the fracture of the femoral neck.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of tissue engineering bone in maxillary sinus lifting., Methods: The marrow stromal stem cells of dog were cultured in DMEM containing 100 m1/L fetal bovine serum and induced to differentiate to osteoblasts, which were then inoculated together with Bio-Oss for 5 days. Sixteen dog's bilateral maxillary sinus were elevated. One side was grafted with a compound of BMSC and Bio-Oss and the other side grafted with Bio-Oss alone. The samples were studied by gross, CT, histomorphology and histomorphometrical analysis at the 30th, 90th day after the operation. t-test was used for statistical analysis., Results: In gross view and CT, new bone formation was observed in all maxillary sinus after 30 and 90 days respectively. Histomorphometrical analysis showed much more new callus in BMSC-Bio-Oss group than in Bio-Oss group (P < 0.05)., Conclusions: A better effect of new bone formation could be obtained with tissue engineered bone in maxillary sinus lifting.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of radiation and osteogenic growth peptide(OGP) on the bone density adjacent to the implants., Methods: 24 rabbits underwent 48 implants placed in the tibia, then the rabbits were divided into one control group and two experimental groups randomly. Rabbits in one of the experimental groups were injected with OGP Sol, rabbits in the other groups were injected with normal saline; Then rabbits in the two experimental groups received radiation after the implant wound healed. 12 rabbits were sacrificed at 4 weeks and 16 weeks respectively. The samples were observed with gross, X-ray, histological examination. The data was analysed for Dunnett t test using SPSS13.0 software package., Results: At 4 weeks, the bone density adjacent to the implant of the simple irradiation group was significantly less than that of the control group (P<0.05), while the difference was not significant between the irradiation and OGP group and the control group. At 16 weeks, the difference among the three groups wasn't significant., Conclusions: Radiation has considerable adverse effect on osteogenesis adjacent to the implants, while systemically administering OGP plays significant roles in the osteogensis of the irradiated rabbit tibia.

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of the tissue engineered bone substitute loaded with periosteal-derived osteoblasts (POBs) transfected by adenovirus mediated human bone morphogenetic protein-2 gene (Ad-hBMP-2) in the repair of rabbit mandibular central fissures., Methods: 45 rabbits with the soft tissue in the mandibular central fissures removed were randomly divided into 5 groups, group I: Ad-hBMP-2 transfected POBs/bioglass group (n=10); group II: adenovirus mediated enhanced green fluorescent protein (Ad-EGFP) gene transfected POBs/bioglass group (n=10); group III: untransfected POBs/bioglass group (n=10); group IV: single bioglass group (n=10); group V: control group (n=5). The above bone substitutes were implanted in the rabbit mandibular central fissures respectively except group V. The samples were studied by gross, X-ray, histomorphology, histomorphometrical analysis and biomechanics after 2, 4, 8, 12 weeks respectively. One-way ANOVA was used for statistical analysis., Results: In gross view, the rabbit mandibular central fissures in group I were replaced by new bone including cortical bone from the 4th week. X-ray examination showed that the higher bone density was found in the rabbit mandibular central fissures of group I 4 to 8 weeks after implantation. Histomorphometrical analysis showed much more new bony callus in group I than in other groups (P<0.01). The maximal anti-bending load and bending rigidity of the implanted bone substitute of group I were significantly higher than those of group II, III and IV (P<0.01)., Conclusion: The tissue engineered bone substitute loaded with POBs transfected by human BMP-2 gene could get the best result in the repair of rabbit mandibular central fissures, therefore, it is likely to be used in the repair of alveolar clefts.
