A dual-material 3D printing technique is developed to rationally construct namrsilica/carbon black/epoxy (SiO2/CB/EP) composites through alternately arranging nano-silica/epoxy (SiO2/EP) composites with high strength and carbon black/epoxy (CB/EP) composites with high conductivity. According to the rheological properties, the epoxy composites with 11. 6 wt. % SiO2 and 10 wt. % CB exhibits excellent printability. A stable diameter of 400 μm was achieved through controlling the extrusion pressure and printing speed. The SiO2/CB/EP composites show an excellent manufacturing accuracy and a highly ordered 3D structure as verified by the optical and micro-CT images. The tensile, compres-sive and bending strengths of the SiO2/CB/EP composites were 35 MPa, 64 MPa and 120 MPa, respectively, indicating that there is no attenuation compared to those of the SiO2/EP composites. Moreover, the electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of the composites is as high as 25 dB on the basis of the microwave absorbing mechanism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of carbon nanotubes on the electromagnetic shielding and electrical conductivity of polyetheretherketone(PEEK). The modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (mMWCNT) was prepared using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a dispersing agent. The PEEK/mMWCNT composits were prepared by the processing technology of wet mixing and extrusion blending. The results showed that the mMWCNT were well-dispersed in PEEK matrix, which provided strong support for improving the mechanical and electrical properties of the composites. When the mMWCNT mass fraction was lower than 2.0%, the mechanical properties of PEEK/mMWCNT composites were significantly improved. The mMWCNT formed a 3D network with good conductivity in PEEK. In terms of electromagnetic shielding performance, the total electromagnetic shielding efficiency of PEEK/mMWCNT composites ranged from 3.35 dB to 24.47 dB, which indicated a good absorption of X-band electromagnetic waves. This study confirmed that PEEK/mMWCNT composites have superior electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding properties. In order to explore the effects of temperature on the properties of silver-plated nickel powder during its preparation, replacement electroless plating and reduction electroless plating were used to prepare silver-plated nickel powder with silver nitrate as the source of silver and Ni particles as the matrix material. The conductive coating was prepared with powder as filler and unsaturated polyester resin as matrix, and its conductivity and electromagnetic shielding were tested and analyzed. The micro-morphology and macro-characteristics of silver-plated nickel powders were characterized and analyzed by scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive spectrometer, X-ray diffractometer, apparent density tester, tap density tester, DC Milliohm Meter, respectively. Results show that the Ag coating of the prepared silver-plated nickel powder was complete, uniform and compact when the electroless plating temperature is 40 ℃, and the silver content reach ed 75. 01%, and its compaction resistance reached the value 293. 15 mΩ. The apparent density and tap density of the powder were 5. 417 g·cm-3 and 5. 778 g·cm-3, respectively. Electromagnetic shielding plastics with different mass fractions were prepared by melt blending three kinds of silver-coated copper powder (Ag@Cu) with ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA). The effects of different mass fractions and particle sizes of Ag@Cu on the electrical conductivity, shielding properties and mechanical properties of EVA-based electromagnetic shielding plastics were investigated. EVA-based electromagnetic shielding plastics were toughened by maleic anhydride grafted ethylene-octene copolymer/ethylene-octene copolymer (POE-g-MAH/POE) toughening masterbatch and polyisobutylene (PIB)/terpene toughening masterbatch, respectively, to obtain highly filled electromagnetic shielding plastics. The results show that with the increase of Ag@Cu content, the electrical conductivity of EVA-based electromagnetic shielding plastics increases, while the mechanical properties decrease. The percolation threshold of the composites decreases with the increase of filler particle size. When the Ag@Cu filling content is 80%, the shielding effectiveness increases with the increase of filling particle size. Compared with POE-g-MAH/POE, the toughening effect of PIB/terpene is the best, the elongation at break is increased to 187.3%, the shielding effectiveness is kept above 70 dB in the range of 30~1 000 MHz, and it shows better extrusion processability. Research progress of screen-printing technology for electronic textile preparation was summarized. The technology principle of screen-printing technology was introduced. The influence of screen-printing parameters on the electrical conductivity and printing quality of electronic textiles was analyzed. The research and application of screen-printing technology in the field of electronic textiles were explained, including human body monitoring, electromagnetic shielding, energy collection and storage, human-computer interaction interface, etc. The future research direction of electronic textiles prepared by screen-printing technology was prospected. It is considered that the potential applications of electronic textiles should be explored in the future according to the needs of users. ObjectiveThis study focuses on the preparation and properties of high-performance electromagnetic shielding materials for electronic equipment in marine environments. MethodsThe surface morphology, phase composition, electrical conductivity and ferromagnetic properties of the original ferrosilicochrome powder (FeSiCr) and silver-coated powder (FeSiCr@Ag) are analyzed with a scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer, four probes and vibrating sample magnetometer, and a vector network analyzer is used to test the S parameters of the samples. A salt spray test chamber is used to simulate the corrosion behavior of the coating under marine environment conditions and observe its macro and micro morphology. Meanwhile, an electrochemical workstation is used to monitor the corrosion behavior of the coating in a mass fraction of 3.5% NaCl solution and study its corrosion mechanism. ResultsThe results show that the silver plating layer is compact and complete with the increase of the silver nitrate (AgNO3) addition. After electroless silver plating, the conductivity can reach 586.79 S/cm and the X-band shielding efficiency reaches 80 dB. After 96 h of accelerated corrosion in a humid heat and high salt spray environment, the surface of the resin coating prepared by FeSiCr@Ag shows no corrosion phenomenon. The self-corrosion potential of the coating before and after electroless silver plating is −0.4 V and −0.09 V respectively, indicating that the penetration rate of the corrosive medium into the coating slows down after silver plating, and a good corrosion inhibition effect is achieved.ConclusionsThe modified FeSiCr@Ag material has highly efficient electromagnetic shielding performance and good corrosion resistance properties.

In order to improve the traditional methods that are difficult to balance the high conductivity, magnetic properties, and mechanical properties of electromagnetic shielding rubber (ESR), a series of nickel coated graphite(NCG) conductive silicone rubber electromagnetic shielding composite materials were prepared by mechanical blending, with coated NCG as filler, coupling agent as modifier, and silicone rubber as substrate. The vulcanization characteristics, mechanical properties, conductivity, and shielding effectiveness of ESR were tested and analyzed, and the microstructure of the rubber was characterized by SEM. The effect of NCG addition on the mechanical properties, conductivity, and shielding effectiveness of conductive silicone rubber was studied, and the conductivity and shielding mechanism of ESR were analyzed. The results show that the filler can form a complete and stable three-dimensional conductive network inside the matrix when the filler addition amount is 180 parts, so that the composite material could have good mechanical properties and excellent electrical properties at the same time, and the tensile strength of the ESR is 3. 688 MPa, the volume resistivity is 0. 24 Ω • cm, and its average shielding efficiency in the X-band (8. 2~12. 4 GHz) can reach 55. 25 dB. With the rapid development of emerging industries such as big data, internet of things and new energy vehicles, related electronic devices and components are evolving towards high performance, high integration, lightweight and precision. The resulting electromagnetic interference can pose a threat to human health, information security and normal operation of various electronic devices. Therefore, high-performance electromagnetic shielding materials are urgently needed. Carbon fiber has excellent mechanical properties and good electrical conductivity, and is resin matrix composites have many advantages, such as light weight, high specific strength/modulus, good fatigue resistance, strong designability and excellent electromagnetic shielding performance. However, compared with traditional metal materials, carbon fiber composites have lower electromagnetic shielding performance. In order to further improve the electromagnetic shielding performance of carbon fiber composites, it is usually necessary to modify the surface of carbon fiber to increase its electrical conductivity. In this paper, the electromagnetic shielding mechanism of carbon fiber composites is introduced. The various surface modification methods of carbon fiber and their effects on the electromagnetic shielding performance of resin matrix composites are reviewed. The advantages and disadvantages of various carbon fiber surface modification methods are analyzed. COMSOL was used to simulate the variation of energy conversion efficiency with the permeability of electromagnetic shielding materials (ESM). It is found that the energy conversion efficiency is improved with the increase of μ' for lossless materials. However, there is the best match of μ' and μ" for the lossy materials. Based on the simulation results, the one-cycle energy consumption of the induction heated tobacco product (HTP) with different ESM was tested using a power analyzer. Among the range from 240 kHz to 320 kHz, the energy consumption is reduced with the increase of μ' for the ferrites. When μ' is 220, the one-cycle energy consumption can be reduced from 978.14 J to 833.40 J, and the energy conversion efficiency is increased by 14.08%. With the nano-crystalline materials, when μ=2064-j349, the one-cycle energy consumption can be reduced to 811.30 J, the energy conversion efficiency is increased by 17.06%. However, with the further increase of μ' and μ", the energy consumption is enlarged. The actual test results are basically consistent with the simulation. Using polypropylene (PP) as a matrix and carbon nanotube (CNTs) as a modified material to prepare CNTs/PP composites, the effects of solid-phase drawing and CNTs on properties of PP-based composites after solid-phase drawing were analyzed. Crystallization, mechanical and electromagnetic shielding properties of the composites were studied by wide angle X-ray diffraction, 2D wide angle X-ray diffraction, small angle X-ray scattering, differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing microscope, scanning electron microscope, universal test machine, and vector analyzer. The results show that the solid-phase drawing and CNTs increase the tensile strength of the composite and reduce its elongation at break; the addition of CNTs plays a clear heterogeneous nucleation, refines the grain and improve the crystallinity, and the crystal formation of the CNTs/PP composite before and after the solid-phase drawing does not change, but the α-crystal for PP is improved significantly. The crystallinity of the composites is slightly decreased with increasing solid-phase drawing rate. The solid-phase drawing treatment and CNTs can improve the electromagnetic shielding performance, but make the electromagnetic shielding performances reduce after high drawing rate treatment.

A two-dimensional continuous silicon carbide fiber reinforced silicon carbide composite material 2D SiCf/SiC composite material) was prepared by precursor impregnation cracking method ( PIP method) using Al powder as the active filler. XRD, SEM and thermogravimetry were used to analyze the evolution behavior of the microstructure and composition of polycarbosilane pyrolysis products with various Al powder contents. The effects of various Al powder contents on the mechanical and electromagnetic shielding properties of the composites were studied by mechanical testing machine and vector network analyzer. The results show that as the mass fraction of Al filler increases from 0% to 40%, the bending strength of the composite material first increases and then decreases, and the maximum bending strength can reach 383 MPa. The introduction of aluminum filler leads to a gradual increase in the complex dielectric constant of the composite material, and the electromagnetic shielding efficiency gradually increases to 26 dB, which has been greatly improved. Polymer nanocomposite foams often exhibit better comprehensive properties than conventional foams due to the presence of nanofillers. In order to prepare multifunctional nanocomposite foams with excellent comprehensive properties, styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN) /polyurea (PUA) nanocomposite foams with different mass fractions of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are prepared by combining the “Plasticizing-Foaming-Reinforcing” (PFR) strategy with adding MWCNTs. The effects of MWCNTs on the properties of SAN/crosslinked monomer (CMs) blends and SAN/PUA nanocomposite foams are investigated. It is found that the addition of MWCNTs still retains the advantage of CMs plasticization, so that SAN/CMs blends have a lower glass transition temperature than pure SAN, and the presence of MWCNTs can significantly reduce the cell diameter of SAN/PUA composite foam. After curing, the SAN/PUA nanocomposite foam with MWCNTs has better heat resistance (128.1~139.3 ℃) than pure SAN foam (116.4 ℃), and the modulus of the foam increases with the mass fraction of MWCNTs. At the same time, with the increase of MWCNTs mass fraction, the conductivity and electromagnetic shielding performance of SAN/PUA nanocomposite foam become better. When the mass fraction of MWCNTs is 15%, the electromagnetic shielding performance of SAN/PUA nanocomposite foam reaches 30.7 dB. In addition, with the increase of MWCNTs mass fraction, the electromagnetic shielding ability of the foam changes from the absorption mode to the reflection mode. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Carbon foam composites, reinforced by micro-nano multiscale phases, were prepared with CNTs modified phenolic resin as the carbon source, magnesium borate whiskers (Mg2B2O5w) and ZrO2 nano-particles as the reinforcement, and hollow microspheres as dispersed phase, respectively. The effects of micro-nano multi-scale phases on the microstructure, mechanical properties, electromagnetic shielding and thermal oxidation properties of the carbon foams were investigated. The results demonstrated that Mg2B2O5w and ZrO2 nano particles contributed a lot to the performance of carbon foam composites synergistically. With the increase of Mg2B2O5w doping, the mechanical properties of the composites first increased and then decreased. The compressive strength reached the maximum (15.4 MPa) with the doping amount of 6 %, which was 111% higher than that of pure carbon foam. Its electromagnetic shielding performance also improved with the increase of Mg2B2O5w doping. The total electromagnetic shielding of 8% CPF was up to 51 dB at 9 GHz, which was 62% higher than that of pure carbon foam. 6% CPF showed the best high-temperature oxidation resistance. Its mass loss reduced from 25% to 15% during isothermal oxidation, at 600 °C for 20 min. The high-temperature oxida¬tion resistance improved by 40 %, compared to that of pure carbon foam.
