Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a primary cause of cancer-related mortality, and, after treatment, cancer survivors often worry that disease recurrence may worsen their health. Nevertheless, limited research on fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) and treatment-related symptoms has been conducted on survivors of CRC. Purpose: This study was designed to explore (1) symptom distress severity and post-treatment FCR in CRC survivors and (2) the predictors of FCR. Methods: A cross-sectional correlational research design and convenience sampling approach were used to recruit patients at the colorectal surgery outpatient department of a medical center in central Taiwan. Basic demographic data, the Symptom Distress Scale -- Chinese Modified Form, and Fear of Progression Questionnaire - Short Form were used as monitoring tools. Pearson's product-moment correlation analysis, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and stepwise linear regression analysis were used for statistical analysis. Results: One hundred fourteen survivors of CRC with an average age of 63.44 were enrolled as participants. The top five symptoms of distress were numbness, bowel patterns, fatigue, insomnia, and dry mouth, and the average FCR score was 18.09. Gender, educational level, monthly disposable income, and symptom distress were identified as significant predictors of FCR, with an overall explanatory power of 41.4%. Conclusions: Level of post-treatment FCR in survivors of CRC is influenced by symptom distress severity. Early intervention by healthcare providers to control or alleviate physical symptoms can help prevent the emergence of negative emotions and improve quality of life in this patient group. This paper summarized the nursing experience of a patient who received auricular acupressure combined with finger exercise in the treatment of pain after transradial coronary angiography. Nursing assessment was carried out before implementation of auricular acupressure and finger exercise, and Traditional Chinese Medicine nursing techniques were applied according to the standard procedure. After intervention, the degree of pain, swelling and numbness was reduced. (本文总结了1例耳穴贴压联合手指操治疗经桡动脉行冠状动脉造影术后疼痛患者的护理体会, 包括护理评估, 耳穴贴压和手指操的干预方法等。患者经干预后, 肢体疼痛减轻, 肿胀及麻木程度明显缓解。)

Objective To report a case of spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) with cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) and subdural hematoma (SDH), summarize its clinical manifestations and imaging features, and improve clinicians' ability of diagnosis and differential diagnosis, as well as the recognition of the related complications. Methods and Results The patient was a 56-year-old male with a subacute to chronic disease course, with the onset of orthostatic headache, progressive exacerbation, and developed numbness and weakness in the right limb. Imaging findings revealed diffuse enhancement of dura mater, bilateral chronic SDH and CVT. After rehydration, anticoagulation, mechanical thrombectomy and thrombolytic therapy, the CVT was significantly reduced. Due to the continuous increasion in bleeding tendency and the expansion of SDH, after discontinuation of anticoagulant and craniotomy for hematoma removal, the condition was controlled, and the volume of SDH decreased. Follow - up 3 months after discharge, head MRI showed that there was basically no filling defect in the venous sinus, and the visualization was significantly improved; the patient's orthostatic headache disappeared, and no focal neurological dysfunction remained. Conclusions Although SIH with cerebral venous system thrombosis and SDH, treated by fluid replacement, anticoagulation, and endovascular treatment, the symptoms and signs induced by venous thrombosis can be improved, these measures can't prevent the further expansion of the SDH, early detection of leaks and repairs may be more conducive to the recovery. Objective To investigate the efficacy of mid-face lift via orbital rim multi-point bone drilling fixation in the auxiliary correction of severe lower eyelid malposition after lower eyelid blepharoplasty. Methods From January 2019 to September 2021, 20 patients with severe lower eyelid malposition after lower eyelid blepharoplasty and multiple repair failure were selected. All patients underwent mid-face lift via orbital rim multi-point bone drilling fixation and lateral canthal anchoring. Results All patients completed the operation successfully and were followed up for 3 to 24 months. The lower eyelid position returned to normal in 14 patients, the shape and appearance of lower eyelid was good, and the efficacy was satisfactory. Although the position of lower eyelid was improved in 6 patients, there was still mild retraction of the lower eyelid. Two patients were not repaired again, and the remaining 4 patients were repaired by lateral canthal anchoring again. The position of lower eyelid recovered after operation. No adverse events such as facial swelling and numbness occurred. Conclusion The stable hanging force in vertical direction can be obtained by mid-face lift via orbital rim multi-point bone drilling fixation. Objective To investigate the clinical presentation, diagnosis, operative strategy and prognosis of idiopathic spinal cord herniation (ISCH). Methods and Results Clinical data of 11 ISCH cases with definite spinal cord dysfunction enrolled in Hainan Hospital and the First Medical Center of PLA General Hospital from August 2015 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. The main clinical manifestations were hypesthesia of pain and temperature, while one case had lumbocrural pain and dysuria. Myasthenia or hypomyotonia was seen in 7 cases and hypermyotonia in 4 cases. One case occurred in the cervical spine, 9 cases occurred in the thoracic spine, and one case occurred in the lumbar spine. The mean Japan Orthopedic Association Scores (JOA) was 6.91. MRI demonstrated that the defect was mostly situated in the level of T4-7 vertebral bodies. Amyelotrophy and T2 hyperintense signal at the corresponding level could be detected. All patients were treated with correction of herniated spinal cord and dural defect repair, and the success rate of surgery was 100%. The postoperative clinical symptoms were improved and the postoperative recovery was well. There were no cerebrospinal fluid leakage and intracranial infection. The mean postoperative JOA score was 11.55, which was significantly improved, and the average rate of improvement was 76.44%. The average follow-up period for 11 patients without recurrence was 32 months. The preoperative clinical symptoms disappeared in 5 cases, improved significantly in 3 cases, and alleviate in 3 cases. Conclusions The difficulties of the treatment of ISCH are the preoperative diagnosis and the choice of the best surgical procedure. Early definite diagnosis and surgical treatment are helpful for clinical prognosis of patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
