This bachelor thesis focuses on a process of Novohradské hory natural park map portal creation. The theoretical part is trying to explain the importance of a geoportal as well as of a tool for its creation. After that follows planning of the project preparation and explanation of the chosen natural park territory, its characteristic and protection. Practical part resumes with the creation of the geoportal itself including addition of thematic applications on natural environments, its protection, territorial development and tourism. Moreover, the geoportal contains presentation of theses written by students of JU in České Budějovice, which relates to the research of the park territory. The final geoportal applications have been published with a help of webpages.

This thesis deals with the assessment and protection of landscape character as the main instrument in connection with landscape conservation, the image of landscapes, and their aesthetic and natural values. In the beginning, the thesis focuses on the topic state of nature and landscape in the Czech Republic and describes the development history of the protection of nature and it analyzes fundamental principles of nature and landscape in the Czech Republic. The main part of the bachelor thesis deals with assessment and protection of landscape character. Natural parks in the South Bohemian region are also shown and described. The bachelor thesis at the end highlights issues related to the landscape character. It mentions the problem of the impact of wind turbines on landscape chracter.

This bachelor thesis is focused on the identification of cultural-historical and nature values in the chosen area of nature park Melechov. The aim of this work is to specify the values of the area and to compare, using old maps, found values in the past and in the present. The aim is also to evaluate the current state of the present phenomena, temporary protection, risks, and threats concerning the phenomena. Regional planning documents of villages in the area of nature park Melechov will be included as well, with respect to the protection of the individual phenomena. In case of an insufficient protection a new, better protection of cultural-historical values of the landscape will be proposed. In the first part, the attention is put on theoretical terms based on the literature regarding this topic and the second part contains results which were obtained mostly from the field research. The results should be general and applicable to areas with similar problems.

The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of landscape at two locations. Each one has a different protection of nature and landscape. The first area is part of the natural park called Písecké hory. Second area consists of a cadastral area of Horní Ostrovec, in which part there is declared a natural monument called V Obouch. The practical part contains the characteristics of the landscape, determining of the indicators of natural values presence, cultural and historical characteristics and determination of expression, important and valuable landscape characteristics. Based on these characteristics the differences in monitored areas were evaluated and concrete proposals how to increase the value of the landscape were set out.

The topic of this thesis is Large-area protected areas of nature in western Bohemia and eastern Bavaria. Within this topic, the thesis focuses mainly on less strict categories of these areas, i.e. on Czech landscape protected areas ("chráněná krajinná oblast") and Bavarian nature parks ("Naturpark"). From each of these two categories, I chose one particular representative area to deal more in detail with. These representative areas are Český les Landscape Protected Area and the neighbouring Bavarian Nördlicher Oberpfälzer Wald (Northern Upper Palatinate Forest) Nature Park. The aim of this thesis is to describe, analyse and compare the aforementioned protected areas, and - as the result - to evaluate the level of protection of these on both sides of the Czech-Bavarian border, as well as to potentially find inspirations for improving the relevant Czech legislation. The thesis is composed of seven Parts, whereas Parts Three to Six are further divided into chapters and (except Part Six) subchapters. The first - introductory - Part is followed by Part Two, geographically determining the region subject to survey. Natural park Vyšebrodsko is situated at the right side of Lipno dam. The aims of the protection are upland moorland with typical vegetation of the association Sphagnion medii and adjacent deforested area, the occurrence of protected and endangered species of plants and animals linked to the natural mixed forest meadows and moorland. There is protected also landscape character, cultural and historical pattern of this area. The aim of this work was to determine the intensity of turism impact on local ecosystems. There were counted turists, made questionnaire investigation and evaluation of introduced and ruderal plant species. The attendance of this area is relatively small and the influence of turists at the vegetation is not very significant.
