This bachelor thesis presents the issue of slang in the tram transport environment in the transit company of Brno and Ostrava. The aim of the thesis is through a questionnare survey to collect and subsequently analyse the expressions currently used in these environments. The methodology of the work and the research assumptions that will be used are described in the introduction. The theoretical part focuses on the stratification of the Czech language, a general description of slang based on the professional literature, and the ways of creating slang terms. At the end of this section, we characterize the slang environments and briefly describe the typical features of the Central Moravian and Silesian dialects, to which these regions geographically belong. In the practical part of the thesis, the collected slang expressions are presented and subsequently analysed mainly from a word-formation perspective. The practical part also includes a comparison of both slangs, as well as a comparison with slang used in the Prague transit company. The topic of this master thesis is the analysis of language aspects of the group of people involved in the sport of baton twirling. In the theoretical part, the author introduces this type of sports dance, which is not very popular in the Czech Republic and is not in the public consciousness. The attention is paid mainly to the sociolects to which slangs are traditionally assigned. The material basis for this thesis is a partial corpus of slangisms, which was compiled on the basis of the author's own experience, observations and interviews with professional and amateur athletes and coaches (sports journalists and fans are out of focus). The excerpted material is subjected to a thorough analysis, both in terms of semantics, as well as word formation and etymology. The thesis also includes a dictionary of twirling slangisms, an excerpt from the competition rules and scoresheets of teachers. The aim of this thesis is to capture and describe the current state of twirling slang and thus contribute to the study of non standard Czech language.

The topic of the thesis is the linguistic analysis of colloquial football slang. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with slang and its classification within the Czech language. At the same time, the onomasiological procedures used in the creation of slangisms are presented. This Bachelor thesis deals with slang in the branch of gastronomy. The introduction sets out the objectives and methods. Hypotheses are also established. The theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis focuses on the interpretation of slang in general terms, an introduction to the interpretations of some Czech linguists and the current lexicographic form of the dictionary. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of collected data, which was obtained by questionnaire and guided interview. The slang expression is examined mainly according to the method of creation. The submitted thesis deals with the professional speech of employees of selected retail chains. It aims to explore the language and, based on interviews with employees, to capture the current status of the vocabulary of employees of the selected stores and to contribute a partial probe to the research of non-literary Czech. The work will also include a smaller lexicon of collected lexical means with an explanation of their meaning. The first half of the work is focused on the introduction of units and semi-units of national language, especially on slang and professional speech. The second half will be focused on the collected material for its thorough analysis, especially from a semantic and word-forming point of view.

The diploma thesis is focused on the speech of secondary school pupils. The aim of my thesis is to outline the main issue of pupils' and students' slang. The first part is theoretical and describes the differentiation of national language, formal expressions, informal expressions and informal half-formations of the national language (professional speech, argot and slang). Then the thesis analyzes the ways of creating particular slang expressions and literature that deals with this topic and defines the elder-school age period and adolescence. The second part of my thesis is focused on the speech of pupils' and students' slang. The third part is practical and reflects the expressions that were stated in the questionnaires by the pupils, evaluates them and researches the process of forming and also observes the frequency of using the particular expressions. The most interesting expressions are transferred into the graphs. The questionnaire based on the secondary school pupils' speech and a processed dictionary, which was created from the obtained slang expressions, are included in the appendix. The basic method that was chosen is the method of data collection using the questionnaires, which were distributed at the Primary School J.Š. Baara in České Budějovice and at the Primary School Sídliště in Vlašim.

The thesis Arabisms in the Present-Day French deals with loanwords from the Arabic language in contemporary French. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first part defines the concept of Arabisms and describes the issue of borrowing in more detail. It deals with the circumstances of the adoption of Arabisms into French and also with the modification mechanisms for their integration. The second part consists in corpus research, which aims to evaluate the occurrence of French slang expressions of Arabic origin in contemporary French.

This bachelor's thesis focuses on students' slang in both the Spanish and the Czech language, where it is further illuminated by semantic and formal analysis. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical section deals with the characteristic linguistic features of student slang, which is primarily defined from a lexicological point of view and also presents the most common processes of student slang formation. The practical section uses a questionnaire survey to record the slang and informal expressions currently used by Czech and Spanish university students, and subsequently clarifies them by means of a comparative analysis. The work is supplemented by a small Spanish- Czech glossary of student "slangisms".

This thesis deals with the specific speech of the members of Česká tábornická unie, z.s. - non-governmental non-profit Czech organization dedicated to working with children and developing camping skills. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on defining the national language and its units and semi-units, especially on defining slang, including possible ways of creating slang words. The aim of this bachelor thesis refers to the English vocabulary of Czech professional sportsmen playing abroad. The main goal is to chart the vocabulary of the English-speaking football and hockey commentators and professional sportsmen. The attention is paid to Czech professional football and hockey players who played abroad and their experience with the sports slang. I discuss questions related to the English language with eight sportsmen from the Czech Republic who spent some time in their careers abroad. In the theoretical part, I mention the position of the English language in the World, current English vocabulary, and the topic of a professional sport and language. The work will also include sports slang, football and hockey terminology, and a comparison of Czech and English sports speech. In the practical part, I focus on the vocabulary of football and hockey commentators and sportsmen which I figure out with a help of the video records. Through interviews with selected Czech professional athletes, I find out how football and hockey players communicated in foreign clubs or how big a foreign language was an obstacle for them. I also try to form a table with them, which answers the question of whether athletes understand basic football and hockey terminology.

The topic of this bachelor's thesis is to approach the prison speech closer to wider society and to try to outline the idea of why prison speech arises and is subsequently used. In the theoretical part, the author will focus on the issue of sociolects and will mention some publications related to the development of criminal language. She will acquaint readers with the prison environment and their language. In the practical part, she will conduct a survey, when she will find out whether people who have never been in prison know or even use some of the words used by Czech prisoners. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to outline an overview of language and language specifics which are used mainly by experts in the branch of marketing communication and PR as the part of a professional discourse. It describes the relationship between these language users and their lexicon. The aim of the thesis is not only to depict current trends of a unique slang and explain its function in the real communication of marketing communication and PR but also characterise a rational and emotional relationship of experts in marketing communication and PR. Nowadays, it is common to examine the language of advertisement but not the language of marketing communication and its practical usage and the reflection of the active language users, which is the merit of this bachelor thesis.

The bachelor thesis focuses on matters of English colloquial and slangy expressions, which domesticated in our mother language, especially in the lexicon of young czech people, and which are the indivisible part of their lexical store. Base of thesis is actual commonly used language and slang of young people in the area of music and film. Thesis in its theoretical part gives information about history and evolution of slang, map sources of slang and reasons for using it. Analytical part has its base in the questionaire which forms a fundamental part of the thesis. Information about occurence and variety of student's slang terminology used by Czech students is enlisted and utilized on its base.

This diploma thesis follows my bachelor thesis in which the mother slang was described. This diploma thesis is aimed at the performance of the mother speech research, i.e. the use of specific expressions and language resources used by mothers of small children in Internet discussions in relevant forums or web pages. The diploma thesis aims at creating a questionnaire and establishing five hypotheses. The first part of the thesis describes the methodology of this research, in the following part there are presented the data obtained by the questionnaire survey. The hypotheses are verified in the following section, and the hypothesis testing procedure is described here. The appendix includes the questionnaire and a table of critical values that specifies the data that are needed for verifying hypotheses.

The diploma thesis deals with specific features of spoken communication in videos of so-called YouTubers that are available on the website YouTube. The aim of the presented diploma thesis is to show the state of the Czech YouTube production from the point of view of language. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with differentiation of national language and especially with slang. The empirical part consists of a short dictionary that shows the main principles of YouTube videos. In the following text different kinds of these videos are introduced and then three categories are analyzed in details: spoken form, slang terms, and language means. The diploma thesis is supported with a wide range of examples.

The main topic of this thesis is the development of the Czech language at the time of new media and participative journalism. It tries to discover in which way the language develops, what influences effect the language and which of the foreign languages has the biggest impact on it. All of this is demonstrated within the expressions of the user-created videos on the website, YouTube. The web portal is shortly introduced here as well as an example of the new media. The beauty community which deals with cosmetics, fashion and lifestyle (and it's a widespread group on this portal) has been selected as the sample for demonstrating the language development. Their slang is extensive and it slowly spreads even among viewers of the video content as we can see in the feedback they offer in the comments related to the video. The slang is most usually taken from the English language because it is the first language in which beauty videos originated. Some of the words are just taken from the foreign language and not converted to the Czech language, nevertheless the video authors try to convert some of them. The aim of this rigorosum thesis is to give an insight on the problematics of colloquial language layer of Russian youth. The theoretical part is based on studies dealing with stylistic and sociolinguistic stratification of language. Further only colloquial formations are being dealt with, focusing on such concepts as "slang", "general slang" and "mat" and introducing ways of forming slang phrases. The practical part analyses written and oral text and subsequently acquired data is being compared and evaluated. The performed analysis illustrates how quickly the youth's slang is being updated and enriched with new expressions and which lexical units are being given preference by the older youth. The main contribution of this work is its relevance, as the research of this topic quickly becomes outdated.

This bachelor thesis deals with an attempt to define and characterize an usage of internationalisms within the contemporary athletic word-stock. Based on materials excerpted from selected journalistic and special texts, this thesis describes semantics of loandwords, their formation, markedness and writing validity and etymological origin. Other aim of the thesis is to verify the hypotesis about the relation of the time of loan of the selected word between the degree of the adaptation and between the origin language.

This text focuses on the changing functions of prison language used by inmates in Czech prisons with a stress on its cryptic function. The data presented in this paper are based on original ethnographic research conducted in Czech prisons. The data for analysis were collected from qualitative interviews with selected participants of the prison environment, observations carried out inside the prisons, and from analysis of documents related to the Czech prison service. The findings indicate that the language of inmates in Czech prisons still (at least partially) retains a cryptic function in the form of secret codes.

The aim is to capture the current state of football jargon and slang selected from the linguis-tic point of view.

The thesis is focused on a student slang in Spain and Hispanic America. In the theoretical part we describe standard and non-standard language focusing attention on slang. We describe the student slang especially from a lexicological point of view, so we present the most frequent processes of word formation and also some examples of vocabulary. This diploma thesis is concerned with the comparison of student slang word-formation processes in Czech and English gained in a form of a questionnaire spread among Czech and English students of secondary schools and universities. The thesis is composed of two parts the theoretical one and the practical one. The theoretical part deals with varieties of Czech national language, with slang in general, it is focused on student slang and on productive ways of forming slang words in both Czech and English. The essence of the practical part is to perform a comparative analysis of word-formation processes of selected words and also to make a dictionary of student slang expressions.

(in English) The aim of the present bachelor thesis is to describe the status of the portuguese slang from diachronic and synchronic point of view. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on the definitions of sociolinguistic terms that are bond to the Czech and Potuguese linguistic field of study. Furthermore presents short historical overview on the scientific research of Portuguese slang. The practical part is formed on the basis of the questionnaire results which had been realized with Portuguese native speakers. The study primarily examines the formation methods of Portuguese slang and the evolution trends which follows.

We will also discuse their position within other argotic languages, their usage field, namely how largely they occur in media, newspapers, songs and literature. The aim of the thesis is to describe non-standard literary devices and their functions in some of Petra Soukupova's prose. On this basis, we will try to define the author's style. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part introduces the artist, her work and position in current Czech literary output. Other chapters are devoted to the stratification and differentiation of Czech language and the examples of colloquial literary devices in literature. This is followed by the practical part - linguistic analysis of selected novels (K moři, Zmizet, Marta v roce vetřelce), which will be the base for the conclusion where all the existing information will be summarized and important findings on the author's style drawn.

This bachelor thesis is focused on the collection of specific expressions and linguistic styles which are used by mothers on Internet forums. The bachelor thesis aims to create a kind of dictionary of maternal expressions on the Internet and also draw attention to other specifics of a mother´s speech. This dissertation primarily describes the origin and development of slang, further it examines the issue of sociolinguistics, it is also concerned in the field of social background of students of primary and secondary schools with regards to slang terminology of these, and it assesses this relationship afterwards. The presented bachelor thesis, titled Czech speleologists speech, is focused on the language expressions of the amateur speleologists throughout the Czech Republic. It contains a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part outlines issues of the examining of the slang and describes the ways of the slang vocabulary enrichment. In the practical part the theoretical knowledge is aplied on the language material acquired by a questionnaire method from the active members of Czech Speleological Society. The bachelor thesis also draws from the Internet, and magazine articles. As a part of the thesis, there is a small dictionary of slang of this interest group.
