During the Obstakel Verwijder Traject (OVT) Information Session organised on July 6th 2023, we organised a breakout discussion on the topic of the FAIRification steps. A group of a little over 30 people got together to discuss processes for the practical implementation of FAIR for research and innovation in the health domain. Margreet Bloemers, Project leader FAIR & data management at ZonMw, presented the funders perspective and requirements, as well as a joint service catalogue approach. Reinier Morra, Coördinerend Adviseur Informatiemanagement at the Zorginstituut Nerderland and Daphne Schoenmakers, Arts Onderzoeker at Amsterdam UMC, presented the FAIRification efforts within the MLDi project. MLDi (European Metachromatic Leukodystrophy initiative) is a pilot between Amsterdam UMC, Health-RI and Regie op Registers voor Dure Geneesmiddelen / Zorginstituut Nederland. Jolanda Strubel, Programma manager FAIR data at Health-RI, presented the activities regarding the FAIR steps within Health-RI, the “metro line” (see also this documentation) We will jointly make the process of FAIR data concrete and scalable, and come to agreements on the FAIR steps and related guidance.
