This paper focuses on digital archiving and the establishment of open Access digital repositories in three selected Nigerian Universities. Despite the abundance of vital information kept in the traditional archives of Nigerian universities, many researchers cannot easily access it due to the seeming absence of proper digitization and online visibility. It is also observed that the practice of archiving and the management of information in the repositories in Nigerian universities is limited to the central library, which makes access to information in the satellite archives across the departments and in the administrative units very difficult. This paper therefore, intends to; determine the nature, existence and the roles of digital repositories in the three selected Nigerian universities and to identify the types of information sources and resources available in their digital repositories, among others. Qualitative research methodology was adopted. Data was purposefully obtained from the websites of the three Selected Nigerian universities. The findings of this study indicate that the Digital Repositories existed in the three selected universities studied with different names, and were found to contain volumes of scholarly information sources and resources, which were organized in a systematic and chronological order, but it is not well structured to specifically link resources in the departments, faculties and other units of the universities with the central repositories. It was also found that Digital Repositories were not always accessible, possibly due to inadequate ICT infrastructure and necessary staff skills for their effective maintenance. It was concluded that the repositories existed for over a decade and were providing information services to its users. It was recommended that, the management of the universities studied should imbibe strong maintenance culture to effectively manage the Digital Repositories for sufficient access to scholarly information sources and resources and should consider the installations and deployment of necessary ICT infrastructure, as well as the right software configurations including the provision of regular staff training for proper digitisation and digitalisation of work processes and procedures in the repositories for efficient results and the promotion of Digital Data Literacy in Africa. Digitalization plays a crucial role in our daily lives, permeating every feature of our existence. At the same time the process of digitalization is viewed as one of the drivers of economic development. It has macroeconomic, sectoral, and microeconomic effects, but it may also boost regional economic cooperation. Despite its omnipresence, the global distribution of digital progress is uneven, and the Western Balkans (WB) stands as an example where digitalization remains a challenging and evolving process. Despite the involvement of numerous international and regional stakeholders, achieving digitalization in the region poses a formidable challenge. Progress requires collaborative efforts and joint problem-solving among the WB nations. The transition to digitalization should benefit everyone, contributing to the prosperity of countries capable of competing with EU members. This paper aims to showcase the integration of digital technology in business, assessed through electronic information sharing, social media usage, advanced digital technologies, and corporate initiatives towards environmental sustainability and e-commerce. The Literature review shown that the impact of digitalisation on economic growth has been found to be mostly positive, but the impact varies depending on the degree of development of the analysed countries. The analysis relies on secondary data from State Statistical Offices in the Western Balkans and the Digital Economy Society Index for 2022. Findings reveal that in terms of digital technology integration, the WB region lags behind the EU. Montenegro exhibits the highest position in the dimension of digital technology integration, followed by Kosovo, Albania, and Serbia, all scoring above the regional average. The adoption of digital technologies by SMEs remains notably below the EU average, while successive pandemic lockdowns increasingly integrated online sales channels in the WB region. The paper concludes that robust policies and targeted investments are vital components for expediting digital transformation, accelerating the Western Balkans into a fast-track trajectory to attain digital objectives. Further research could explore how the intersection of digitalization and economic collaboration influences the economic advancement of Western Balkan nations. Additionally, an examination of whether varying stages of economic development among these countries result in distinct impacts from the digitalization process on economic growth would be a valuable area of investigation. In the first decades of the 21st century, there has been a global trend towards digitisation and the mobilisation of data from natural history museums and research institutions. The development of national and international aggregator systems, which focused on data standards, made it possible to access millions of museum specimen records. These records serve as an empirical foundation for research across various fields. In addition, community efforts have expanded the concept of natural history collection specimens to include physical preparations and digital resources, resulting in the Digital Extended Specimen (DES), which also includes derived and related data. Within this context, the paper proposes using the FAIR Digital Object (FDO) framework to accelerate the global vision of the DES, arguing that FDO-enabled infrastructures can reduce barriers to the discovery and access of specimens, help ensure credit back to contributors and increase the amount of research that incorporates biodiversity data. With the intent to further increase production efficiency while making human the centre of the processes, human-centric manufacturing focuses on concepts such as digital twins and human–machine collaboration. This paper presents enabling technologies and methods to facilitate the creation of human-centric applications powered by digital twins, also from the perspective of Industry 5.0. It analyses and reviews the state of relevant information resources about digital twins for human–machine applications with an emphasis on the human perspective, but also on their collaborated relationship and the possibilities of their applications. Online learning is negatively associated with student connectedness. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Higher Education (HE) institutions have pivoted to blended and online learning. Subsequently, HE institutions have seen a shift in student connectedness resulting in loneliness, isolation, social and psychological distance. Consequently, it is essential for teacher practitioners to respond with innovative digital learning resources that aim to develop student connectedness. The current systematic review aimed to explore the research question: what are the characteristics of effective digital teaching resources when the aim of the resource is to build student connectedness? This systematic literature review was conducted in line with published guidance for undertaking reviews (Centre for Reviews and Dissemination, 2009). Successively, 17 papers met the inclusion criteria and were analysed using a thematic synthesis approach. Results identified five key themes that are important when designing digital resources to build connectedness: usability; teacher interaction; immediacy; synchronicity; and community. The findings of this research are expected to provide a template to assist teacher practitioners in creating innovative digital resources that facilitate connectedness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study assessed the use of electronic resources by the faculty members who are currently employed in two government colleges in capital of Sikkim. The purpose of this paper is to explain readers about many kinds of electronic resources, as well as the benefits, frequency, barriers, and of using them. Methodology: Out the 167 questionnaires that were developed for this study, only 157 were completed and returned by a faculty member of two government institutions with a response. The data was analysed using a table and chart. Findings: Since many faculty members are engaged in research programme there has been a noticeable rise in the usage of e-journals. In addition to instructional activities, research activities have also been enhanced. These include conducting literature reviews, writing reports, locating research, and turning in reports on time. Faculty members use these tools mostly from home because it is always available and accessible. Furthermore, it was discovered that two government colleges' faculties are well-versed in e-resources. Originality / Value: The study's conclusions will be instructive and useful in determining the best course for making greater use of electronic resources. The study concludes that faculty members of government colleges, Sikkim are currently depending heavily on electronic resources for their information needs. Traditional science and technology literature search mainly provides users with reliable and detailed information materials and services through technical means, data resources, and service strategies. With the development of network technology, computer technology, and information technology, digital information resources are increasing day by day, which continuously impact the traditional knowledge service mode. Some traditional technical methods and service means can no longer meet the information needs of users under large data sets. This paper proposes a model of large-scale literature search service in the context of big data by studying the technical means and service modes used for scientific and technical literature search in universities in the era of big data. Specifically, this paper proposes a method for fast literature retrieval by combining R-tree indexing for the characteristics of diverse data types and large data volume of science and technology literature. The method uses an improved k-mean clustering algorithm to construct an R-tree clustering model and improve the retrieval efficiency of the system by retrieving scientific and technical literature data through R-tree indexing. Enterprise management resource protection is a system management activity in which an enterprise conducts comprehensive planning, allocation, utilization, and development of its resources, and it is the process of organizing, planning, coordinating, supervising, and controlling the allocation, utilization, and development of enterprise resources. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the system that digital information technology applies to enterprise management by constructing models and combinations based on digital information technology so that the built models and combinations have a more effective analysis and research. This paper first gives a general introduction to digital information technology, then analyzes the theory of enterprise management resource protection, then establishes a model for information technology to act on enterprise management, and finally analyzes the combination of information technology and enterprise management and compares the two through enterprise case analysis. The experimental results show that in the case of enterprise management in various regions, the efficiency of enterprise management based on digital information technology is obviously higher, and the enterprise resources can be better protected. From 2018 to 2021, the development of enterprise management resource protection in various regions is basically showing an upward trend; it increased from 3.443, 5.414, 6.473, 4.382, 2.997, 3.751, 0.506, and 2.974 in 2018 to 6.187, 7.658, 8.601, 7.518, 5.932, 6.516, 3.877, and 6.243 in 2021. A digital library is a digital information resource system supported by modern high technology, a next-generation information resource management model on the Internet, and the result of the digitization of library collections, and with the development of society and the accelerated pace of people's lives, people cannot spend too much time classifying and finding books, so the study of book classification and quick finding in university libraries is very important. This paper mainly researches and analyzes the classification and quick search of books in the university library through the algorithms and methods of digital information technology and finds a better algorithm. This paper mainly conducts experiments on automatic text and support vector machine (one-to-many and global optimization) methods and compares the obtained experimental data, such as classification accuracy, classification time, search time, and other data. The experimental results show that the classification accuracy of these three classification methods is in the range of 86%–94%. However, compared with the two methods of automatic text classification and one-to-many classification, the global optimization classification has the highest accuracy in the sample size of each interval. Among them, the classification time is the lowest for automatic text classification, which is less than 30s, and the one-to-many classification sample takes the most time, and their average fitness is in the range of 24%–27%. In the era of in-depth application of knowledge technology in the field of education, the teaching mode combining school English teaching and network data technology is widely used in school English education. Teaching resources have become electronic resources under the influence of digital information technology. However, English teaching often ignores all aspects of English ability, so there are still shortcomings in English teaching. The role of information technology makes a single English teaching text model unable to meet the needs of scholars. In recent years, multimodal events have enriched the expression of language input and output content, which is in line with the learning needs of current students. Therefore, under the premise of digital information technology, this paper constructs a multimodal English teaching model from the aspects of multimodal English teaching resources, multimodal English teaching activities, and multimodal English teaching analysis. It aims to mobilize the enthusiasm of scholars to learn English from various aspects and build a multimodal teaching mode of English for teachers supported by digital data technology. Therefore, the experiment shows that the multimodal teaching mode of college English based on digital information technology proposed in this paper will mobilize the enthusiasm of students to learn in a comprehensive way. It greatly improves students' English performance, promotes the development of students' autonomous learning ability and comprehensive language ability, and improves the quality of English teaching by 20%. Getting highly accurate output in biomedical data processing concerning biomedical signals and images is impossible because biomedical data are generated from various electronic and electrical resources that can deliver the data with noise. Filtering is widely used for signal and image processing applications in medical, multimedia, communications, biomedical electronics, and computer vision. The biggest problem in biomedical signal and image processing is developing a perfect filter for the system. Digital filters are more advanced in precision and stability than analog filters. Digital filters are getting more attention due to the increasing advancements in digital technologies. Hence, most medical image and signal processing techniques use digital filters for preprocessing tasks. This paper briefly explains various filters used in medical image and signal processing. Matlab is a famous mathematical, analytical software with a platform and built-in tools to design filters and experiment with different inputs. Even though this paper implements filters like, Mean, Median, Weighted Average, Guassian, and Bilateral in Python to verify their performance, a suitable filter can be selected for biomedical applications by comparing their performance. Digital information, especially multimedia and its applications, has grown exponentially in recent years. It is important to strengthen sophisticated encryption algorithms due to the security needs of these innovative systems. The security of real-time audio applications is ensured in the present study through a framework for encryption. The design framework protects the confidentiality and integrity of voice communications by encrypting audio applications. A modern method of securing communication and protecting data is cryptography. Using cryptography is one of the most important techniques for protecting data and ensuring the security of messaging. The main purpose of this paper is to present a novel encryption scheme that can be used in real-time audio applications. We encrypt the sound using a combination of an infinite series of hyperbolic functions and the Laplace transform, and then decrypt it using the inverse Laplace transform. The modular arithmetic rules are used to generate the key for the coefficients acquired from the transformation. There is no loss of data or noise in the decryption sound. This paper addresses how students design multimodal digital text when making digital stories in school. Drawing on the perspective of 'multiliteracies', multimodal analysis of video recordings was used to understand the data. Findings revealed that (a) multimodal digital text making requires particular digital and modal text‐making skills and knowledge, such as knowledge of photography, film, film editing, image searching, and audio recording; (b) students' prior knowledge was crucial for mastering the digital and modal affordances offered when making digital stories; and (c) making multimodal digital texts in school offers increased opportunities for students to perform and succeed in text making. These findings point to the need for schools to offer education that makes it possible for all students to gain knowledge and master skills needed for contemporary text making. Such knowledge goes beyond skills and practices needed when making paper‐based text, and borders on other disciplines such as art and technology. Information is the new commodity in the global economy and trustworthy digital repositories will be the key pillars within this new ecosystem. The value of this digital information will only be realised if these repositories can be interacted with in a consistent manner and their data accessible and understandable globally. Establishing a data interoperability layer is the goal of the emerging domain of Digital Objects. When considering how to proceed with designing this interoperability layer, it is important to state that repositories need to be considered from two different perspectives: 1. Repositories are a reflection of the institutions that make them operational (quality of service, skilled experts, accessible over many years, appropriate data management procedures). 2. Repositories are computational services that provide a specific set of functions. Complicating the effort to make repositories accessible and interoperable across the global is that many existing repositories have been developed in the past decades using a wide range of heterogeneous technologies, organisation of data and functionality. Many of these repositories are their own data silos and not interoperable. It is important to realise that much money has been invested to build these repositories and therefore we cannot expect that they will make large changes without great incentives and funding. This heterogeneity is the core of the challenge in making digital information the new commodity in the emerging global domain of digital objects. This paper will focus on the functional aspects of repositories and proposes the FAIR Digital Object model as a core data model for describing digital information and the use of the Digital Object Interface Protocol (DOIP) to establish interoperable communication with all repositories independently of the respective technical choices. It is the conviction of this paper's authors that this integration of the FDO model and DOIP with existing repositories can be performed with minimal effort and we will present examples that document this claim. We will present three examples of existing integration in this paper: • An integration of B2SHARE • A CORDRA repository • Integration of the DOBES archive B2SHARE is a repository that has assigned Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) (Handles) to all of its digital files. It allows users to add metadata according to a unified schema, but also has the possibility for user communities to extend this schema. The API allows one to specify a Handle which then gives access to the metadata and/or the bit sequences of the DO. It should be noted that B2SHARE allows one to include a set of bit-sequences being linked with the Handle. The integration consists of building a proxy that would provide a DOIP interface to B2SHARE to streamline the integration of the data and metadata into a single DO. The development of the proxy was relatively simple and did not require any changes on behalf of the B2SHARE repository. CORDRA is a CNRI repository/registry/registration system that manages DO, assigns Handles to all its DOs and is accessible through DOIP. For all intents and purposes, it implements many of the features from the Digital Object Architecture. The integration of the two repositories enables copying files or movíng digital objects. In the case of copying files (metadata and bit sequences) from B2SHARE to CORDRA, for example, all functionality of the CORDRA service such as searching would become possible. Important is that in this case the PID record identifying the digital object in the B2SHARE repository would have to be extended to point to the alternative path, and the API of B2SHARE would have to offer the alternative access paths to a client. This latter aspect has not been implemented. Moving a DO from B2SHARE to CORDRA would result in changing the ownership of the PID and adding the updated information about the DO. This adaptation was not done yet, but since this archive has some special functionalities, it is interesting to discuss the way of adaptation which could be chosen. In the DOBES archive each bundle of closely related digital objects is assigned a Handle and also metadata is treated as a digital object, i.e., it has a separate Handle. For management reasons and especially for enabling different contributors to maintain control of access rights, a tree structure was developed to allow contributors to organise their data according to specific criteria and users to browse the archive in addition to execute searches on the metadata. While accessing archival objects is comparatively simple, the ingest/upload feature is more complex. It should be noted that the archive supports establishing a canonical tree of resources to define scopes for authorisation (define who has the right to grant access permissions, etc.), and facilitating lookup by supporting browsing according to understandable criteria. Therefore, depositors need to specify where in the tree the new resources should be integrated, and which initial rights are associated with them. After uploading the gathered information into a workspace, the archive carries out many checks in a micro-workflow: metadata is checked against vocabularies and partly curated, types of bit-sequences are checked and aligned with the information in the metadata, etc. An operation has been developed which is called gatekeeper to ensure a highly consistent archive despite the many (remote) people contributing to its content. Thus, the archive requires a set of 4 information units being specified: 1. the set of bit-sequences to be uploaded, 2. the metadata describing the bundle, 3. the node to be used to organise the resources and 4. the initial rights where the default would be "open". Adapting this archive to DOIP would imply that the proxy provides a set of operations such as "ingest a complex object", "update metadata", "add another bit-sequence to a specific object", "get me the list of operations", "give me the metadata", etc. A client must be developed to do the front-end interaction with a user allowing them to specify the required information and to choose a suitable operation. Then the client would have to interact with the repository via DOIP by starting, for example, the gatekeeper as an external operation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new document image retrieval algorithm is proposed in view of the inefficient retrieval of information resources in a digital library. First of all, in order to accurately characterize the texture and enhance the ability of image differentiation, this paper proposes the statistical feature method of the double-tree complex wavelet. Secondly, according to the statistical characteristic method, combined with the visual characteristics of the human eye, the edge information in the document image is extracted. On this basis, we construct the meaningful texture features and use texture features to define the characteristic descriptors of document images. Taking the descriptor as the clue, the content characteristics of the document image are combined organically, and appropriate similarity measurement criteria are used for efficient retrieval. Experimental results show that the algorithm not only has high retrieval efficiency but also reduces the complexity of the traditional document image retrieval algorithm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper was to explore online health information seeking behavior. The method used in this study was conducting a survey by means of a questionnaire which was distributed to the urological patients of the "Dr. Juraj Navro" National Memorial Hospital in Vukovar in Croatia. The results were analysed by the SPSS statistical package utilising descriptive and inferential statistical methods (Chi-square, Mann Whitney U test). Regarding the online information sources that urological patients consult, as many as 21% of the respondents indicated that they searched for health information on Facebook. The obtained research results point to the conclusion that urological patients have a medium level of trust in online health information and indicate the need to increase the level of health literacy among patients in Croatia through various educational campaigns at the national and international level. The problem of online disinformation raises also numerous legal issues. This paper introduces a conceptual understanding of online information sources evaluation and argues why these sources should be evaluated. The aim of this article is to present the benefits of evaluation of online sources for users, librarians, and libraries. The article first discusses the importance of critical evaluation regarding the technical upgrade of online sources. It then presents how the evaluation of online sources may help users to accomplish higher levels of knowledge, and improve their critical thinking skills when they locate information relevant to a specific research topic and have to decide what kind of information is needed. The growth of 3D construction printing needs appropriate integration into the planning and execution phases of building projects. With this aim, the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction sector (AEC) has been increasingly adopting building information modeling (BIM) systems to synchronize design and construction processes. This study proposes a technical workflow to manage 3D construction printing into BIM models, evaluating various procedures according to construction element features. Based on mature software platforms, the research details the data transfer process using a case study of a single-story home. The case delves into design procedures for constructing walls of varied shapes, adjustments in width, joints, openings, textures, fillings, and the insertion of reinforcements and services while also discussing requirements of other building elements. Work steps for managing design information and controlling printing machines are described. The study's outcome presents a comprehensive information flow, encompassing model segmentation, geometric data transfer, adjustments of details, and the generation of printing paths. Then, it is offered a discussion that underlines the importance of a synergistic digital information flow that merges both design and execution phases, promoting construction efficiency and the embrace of innovative technologies. Digital health literacy has been defined as the 'ability to seek, find, understand, and appraise health information from electronic sources and apply the knowledge gained to address or solve a health problem' (Norman and Skinner, 2006). Health literacy and digital health literacy are essential in order to reach universal health coverage and to reform the processes of the healthcare systems (WHO, 2018). Healthcare professionals need to treat patients in a continuous evolving structure (WHO, 2013). The research question that guided the paper is 'How can Romanian health professionals' digital health literacy be used to improve communication with their patients?'. The aim of the study is to explore Romanian health professionals' level of digital literacy, to identify how it can improve the communication with the patients. 20 interviews with resident and senior medical doctors, medical students and nurses were conducted. The interviews were audio recorded, transcribed and then stored as Word documents in a password-secured environment. From the data gathered in the interviews four major themes emerged: (a) digital health literacy; (b) communication with the patients; (c) improvements for the National Health Strategy 2014-2020; (d) time as a barrier in communication. Middle aged women in majority undergoing menopausal symptoms are unaware of the physiological changes happening in their body, necessary lifestyle changes and alternate therapies to overcome the symptoms. All major electronic sources of relevant information were systematically searched and collected data were pooled under specific subheadings. From the reviewed papers, the awareness on symptoms and related complications of menopause in the middle aged women were consolidated. Studies helped to identify alternative therapies replacing or in parallel with the Hormone Replacement Therapy to overcome the menopausal symptoms. Reduced oestrogen and progesterone level causes physiological, psychological, and genitourinary symptoms. Prolonged consequences cause libido, osteoporosis, and cardio vascular diseases. Hypo-estrogenic status is well managed with alternative therapies including dietary intervention, acupuncture, aromatherapy, exercise, and yoga. Dietary interventions involving foods like Fennel, Soy, Black Cohash, St. John Wort, Red Clover and Date Pollen were found to be managing vasomotor symptoms and sexual dysfunction. Non-Hormonal and Non-Pharmacological impact behind acupuncture treatment was well accepted. Various studies proved inhaling and massaging with Lavender, Neroli oil, Fennel, Rose, and Geranium essential oils balance cortisol hormone and reduce stress and anxiety. Impact of yoga therapy on neurohormonal pathways reduce both psychological and physiological symptoms. Reviews summarizes various symptoms and complications during menopausal transition and alternate ways of better management with dietary intervention, yoga, exercise, aromatherapy, and acupuncture to improve the quality of menopausal women's life. The Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius was established in 2021 as a certified route within the program of Cultural Routes managed by the Council of Europe. The idea was to connect places with the Cyrillo-Methodian and Great Moravian traditions. The development of this cultural route is managed by the European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius with a Permanent Secretariat in Zlín in the Czech Republic. The association currently has 23 members from 8 countries (CZ, SK, GR, SI, HU, BG, HR and IT). The Cultural Routes Program of the Council of Europe, which has been in development since 1987, is an expression of the basic principles of the Council of Europe: human rights, cultural democracy, cultural diversity and identity, mutual dialogue, mutual exchange and enrichment across borders and centuries. Certified cultural works are expected to initiate innovative projects in the field of cultural tourism and sustainability of cultural development. The aim of this paper is to point out how the European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius can contribute to the development of cultural tourism – at international, national, regional and local level. These co-patrons of Europe are closely linked to Slovakia, specifically to the city of Nitra where the Bishopric of Nitra was established in 880 by Pope John VIII. From a methodological perspective, this work is based on qualitative approach (excerpts from print and electronic information sources of varying provenance; comparative analysis; authors’ own experiences with creation of strategic documents). The critical approach to information was supported by fieldwork and communication with stakeholders. The results of our research show that Saints Cyril and Methodius are part of everyday life in Slovakia in various forms – spiritual, landscape, cultural and economic. Religious tourism, which is also associated with their cult, significantly contributes to the visibility of several municipalities and cities and supports their development, especially in connection with the construction of infrastructure. The European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius has great potential to connect not only some of the most important European locations / points with a strong legacy of Saints Cyril and Methodius and their disciples spreading their ideas, emphasising the authenticity and uniqueness of this legacy in each of the countries involved, but also, and above all, human generations throughout the centuries. Developing countries face challenges in identifying suitable land due to insufficient administration systems, leading to governance issues and economic decline. A well-functioning land administration system is crucial for development. This technical paper elaborates an easy pathway to develop a local land administration Domains toward an effective and efficient Land Administration. Introduction of Land Fabric Domain (LFD) and the Localized Land Domains (LLD), are new concept for structuring of land parcels at comparatively low accuracy but well-defined topologically adjusted feature classes to manipulate as electronic information base to sustain the national land administration, real estate management and spatial data infrastructure development. The system architecture designs and the descriptive feature class overview elaborate the land administration system developers to begin their own LLD systems and interactive collaboration with national domains in order to manage overall system compatibility and consistency. The research focuses on the land information system (LIS) currently maintained and operated by the Survey Department and national issues in sustainable land administration of the country. Research focuses to analyze the prevailing process and outcomes of the LIS and introduces possible successive system architectures for implementation. The introductory LFD will be discussed against the feature topology on the basis of geospatial data science and then detailed feature classification will further be discussed accommodating entity relation diagrams. This paper presents an analysis survey of the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science & Technology (NM-AIST), the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and Mzumbe University (MU). The survey aimed to assess the degree to which the academic community uses electronic information resources (EIRs). Data were collected using questionnaires and both quantitative and qualitative methods were used in the methodology. The entire population in selected institutions was very large and 5258 library users were selected using the Kish formula for cross-sectional studies and convenient sample size was chosen including 120, 4888 and 250 library users from NM-AIST, UDSM and MU respectively under purposive sampling technique. The study found that 1217 (73%) of the respondents were aware of EIRs but had limited access because of social and technical challenges. The results conclude that users need practical information-retrieval skills and library managers should ensure adequate infrastructure to facilitate the productive use of EIRs. The paper presents the results of a quasi-experimental study which was conducted with a view to determining the effect of an intervention in the form of the application of teacher-designed Internet-based resources (i.e., websites, podcasts, movie clips) that students could use autonomously on the development of pronunciation of the English regular past tense -ed ending. The sample consisted of 45 Polish secondary school learners. Participants were divided into three groups, two treatment and one control. The intervention spanned two weeks. The lessons in treatment group 1 were conducted by means of online resources and those in treatment group 2 were carried out in a traditional way (i.e., without autonomous recourse to computer-assisted pronunciation teaching). The students in the control group did not receive any instruction related to the pronunciation feature in question over that time. The data were gathered by means of perception and production tests administered before (pretest) and after (immediate and delayed posttests) the treatment, and subjected to quantitative analysis. The results, supported by the participants' evaluation of the two types of pedagogic intervention, indicate that although the effects of the experimental treatments proved to be comparable, the use of online resources produced more durable gains and was more favorably evaluated by learners. There is a substantial body of literature in the chosen topic area, created using both traditional and modern techniques. Additionally, the methods used to produce knowledge in this particular profession have evolved, which has affected how nursing students throughout the world search for information. The current review's objective is to examine several factors related to nursing students' use of electronic resources for information seeking that have been researched by various researchers throughout the world over a range of time periods. The paper discusses a few key elements that are crucial for efficient access to, retrieval of, and transmission of electronic information. The study also analyses how nursing students' information-seeking behaviours have evolved as a result of the altered information environment, particularly in light of the increased use of electronic sources by academia throughout the world with a focus on nursing. This paper explores the structure and design of digital strategic initiatives (DSI): identifiable competitive moves that depend on digital resources to create and appropriate economic value. We use the term digital deliberately, in line with the recent push for discerning the so-called IT “x” and Digital “x” phenomena. The paper contributes to basic science by precisely defining the digital strategic initiative concept and its essential elements: digital resources. It clarifies the difference between digital resources and established constructs such as IT resources and IT-enabled resources. We posit that the defining characteristics of digital resources are their modular design, encapsulation of value, and programmatic interface. This work also shows how the design and development of digital strategic initiatives thrive in an infrastructural, combinatorial, and servitized environment. Using illustrative cases, we demonstrate applications of the concepts by introducing two value creation pathways for DSI: (1) orchestration of digital resources and (2) creation of novel digital resources. The present paper aims to underline the mandatory shift in higher education, especially, in order to include cybersecurity elements at all levels and domains of study. The nowadays almost complete reliance on electronic devices for sources of information, means of communications, utilities, research and even shopping, at some extent, bears a powerful emphasis on securing these electronic devices as best as possible. Besides the intrinsic security features and capabilities that are built into the hardware devices or programmed into different software applications, the human resources training and level of awareness towards the issue are critical. Even for students outside of the fields of study such as computer science, electronics, or informatics, at least a good level of general knowledge and awareness about cybersecurity issues like type of attacks, means of protection, basic rules of conduct regarding received files etc. becomes mandatory. The widespread knowledge about these issues, at higher education level within non-computer science related domains might exponentially increase the global level of security. A Digital Object (DO) "is a sequence of bits, incorporating a work or portion of a work or other information in which a party has rights or interests, or in which there is value". DOs should have persistent identifiers, meta-data and be readable by both humans and machines. A FAIR Digital Object is a DO able to interact with automated data processing systems (De Smedt et al. 2020) while following the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable principles) principles (Wilkinson et al. 2016). Although FAIR was originally targeted towards data artifacts, new initiatives have emerged to adapt other research digital resources such as software (Katz et al. 2021) (Lamprecht et al. 2020), ontologies (Poveda-Villalón et al. 2020), virtual research environments and even DOs (Collins et al. 2018). In this paper, we describe the challenges when assessing the level of compliance of a DO with the FAIR principles (i.e., its FAIRness), assuming that a DO contains multiple resources and captures their relationships. We explore different methods to calculate an evaluation score, and we discuss the challeneges and importance of providing explanations and guidelines for authors. FAIR assessment tools: There are a growing number of tools used to assess the FAIRness of DOs. Community groups like FAIRassist.org have compiled lists of guidelines and tools for assessing the FAIRness of digital resources. These range from self assessment tools like questionnaires and checklists to semi-automated validators (Devaraju et al. 2021). Examples of automated validation tools include the F-UJI Automated FAIR Data Assessment Tool (Devaraju and Huber 2020), FAIR Evaluator and FAIR Checker for datasets or individual DOs; HowFairIs (Spaaks et al. 2021) for code repositories; and and FOOPS (Garijo et al. 2021) to assess ontologies. When it comes to assessing FDOs, we find two main challenges: • Resource score discrepancy: Different FAIR assessment tools for the same type of resource produce different scores. For example, a recent study over datasets showcases differences in scores for the same resource due to how the FAIR principles are interpreted by different authors (Dumontier 2022). • Heterogeneous FDO metadata: Validators include tests that explore metadata of the digital object. However, there is no agreed metadata schema to represent FDO metadata, which complicates this operation. In addition, metadata may be specific to a certain domain (De Smedt et al. 2020). To address this challenge, we need i) to agree on minimum common set of metadata to measure the FAIRness of DOs and ii) propose a framework to describe extensions for specialized digital objects (datasets, software, ontologies, VRE, etc.). In (Wilkinson et al. 2019), the authors propose a community-driven framework to assess the FAIRness of individual digital objects. This framework is based on: 1. a collection of maturity indicators, 2. principle compliance tests, and 3. a module to apply those tests to digital resources. The proposed indicators may be a starting point to define which tests are needed for each type of resource (de Miranda Azevedo and Dumontier 2020). Aggregation of FAIR metrics: Another challenge is the best way to produce an assessment score for a FDO, independently of the tests that are run to assess it. For example, each of the four dimensions of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) usually have a different number of associated assessment tests. If the final score is presented based on the number of tests, then by default some dimensions may have more importance than others. Similarly, not all tests may have the same importance for some specific resources (e.g., in some cases having a license in a resource may be considered more important than having its full documentation). In our work we consider a FDO as an aggregation of resources, and therefore we face the additional challenge of creating an aggregated FAIRness score for the whole FDO. We consider the following aggregation scores: • Global score: calculated by formula (see Fig. 1-1). It represents the percentage of total passed tests. It doesn't take into account the principle to which a test belongs. • FAIR average score: calculated by formula (see Fig. 1-2). It represents the average of the passed tests ratios for each principle plus the ratio of passed tests used to evaluate the Research Object itself. Both metrics are agnostic to the kind of resource analyzed. The score they produce ranges from [0 - 100]. Discussion: A FDO has metadata records that describe it. Some records are common for all DOs, and others are specific to a DO. This makes it difficult to assess some FAIR principles like "F2: "data are described with rich metadata". Therefore, we believe a discussion of a minimal set of FAIR metadata should be addressed by the community. In addition, a FAIR assessment score can change significantly depending on the formula used for aggregating all metrics. Therefore, it is key to explain to users the method and provenance used to produce such score. Different communities should agree on the best scoring mechanism for their FDOs, e.g., by adding a weight to each principle and figuring out the right number of tests for each principle, which may give more importance to the principles with tests. We believe that the objective of a FAIR scoring system should not be to produce a ranking, but become a mechanism to improve the FAIRness of a FDO. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the gradual growth of economy, tourism has become a pillar industry in many countries and plays an important role in promoting national development. The individualization and diversification of tourism resources must be supported by a powerful information resource management system. However, the traditional tourism information resource management system has some problems, such as scattered sources of tourism information, low interactivity, and slow update of information resources. Tourists cannot get detailed information of scenic spots and make detailed plans for tourism which hinder the further development of the tourism industry. In order to solve these problems and promote the development of the tourism industry, this paper carried out digital management of tourism information based on machine learning and digital management of information resources of different tourist attractions and surveyed and tested the number of tourists, expenditure of scenic spots, income of scenic spots, and satisfaction of tourists. The total result showed that the digital management of tourism information resources in scenic spots can increase the passenger flow, increase the income of scenic spots, reduce the expenditure of scenic spots by 6.7%, and increase the satisfaction of tourists by 4.1%. Over the last two decades, electronic submission of theses and dissertations has become more common, and cataloging processes have evolved as well. At the same time, the Resource Description and Access (RDA) cataloging guidelines, which are better designed to describe digital resources, were widely implemented in 2013 in order to replace the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (AACR2), which emphasize the description of a physical item. These changes have brought unceasing challenges into cataloging workflows. Especially with the development of linked data and the semantic web, catalogers consistently need to adapt measures to local conditions. This paper describes the recent issues that have occurred at the Mississippi State University Libraries and how local practices addressed these concerns to enhance bibliographic data and authority data for better discovery of Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs). The aim of this paper is to identify scientific content and compilations related to circus arts available in subscription databases and in renowned and free academic information systems. After providing terminological definitions for circus and circus arts, the article describes the search strategies applied and the issues which emerged during the searches, and then introduces quantitative results, thereby also identifying the major periodicals and the most often referenced articles of the topic. The analysis provides useful input for representatives of other arts related to circus arts (e.g., performing arts, theatre arts, visual arts, musical arts) and of other academic fields (e.g., literary studies, history, media science); but first of all, it serves as an unparalleled library information service guide for navigating between electronic information sources. Purpose: Academic libraries are struggling to support the growing demand for streaming video. The purpose of this paper is to detail the experience of running three long-term pilots with different streaming video platforms, including processes involved, lessons learned and next steps. Design/methodology/approach: This paper uses a mixed methods approach, combining analysis of usage data with case study observations. Findings: The length of the pilots allowed for deep understanding of the needs of this academic library's community's engagement with streaming video in the classroom, and confirmed anecdotal information that availability of multiple platforms supports diverse needs which led to continuing access to all platforms, operationalized to be managed within existing processes. Using usage data and feedback from a task force led to decisions to continue with all three platforms that were piloted. Research limitations/implications: While this research describes the experience at one academic library, the information may be generalizable enough that other libraries may use it for their streaming video collection development decisions. Originality/value: Long-term pilot studies for streaming video platforms can be challenging for many libraries to undertake. With a modest initial financial commitment, the library was able to explore how the community might use streaming video. Through analysis of usage data, the library was able to see when, where and what was being used and could make better informed decisions about where to concentrate future funds for streaming video support. With the development of information technology, high-speed transmission of electronic information resources, and explosive growth of information data, traditional data processing cannot meet the development of the times. With the arrival of the digital age, massive virtual numbers are deeply analyzed to turn the data into understandable information. As a product of the information age, sports app is widely used. With the increase of sports apps, the development of sports apps also has a bottleneck. In this paper, the survey data of sports app users are analyzed and processed by Excel 2016 and SPSS 23.0: (1) descriptive statistics of the research objects through technical statistical analysis; (2) testing the validity and credibility of the data through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis; (3) analysis of variance performed by independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Duncan's test; (4) analyzing the correlation between factors through correlation analysis; (5) analyzing the influence among factors through multiple regression analysis. The results show that, through variance analysis, sports app users have significant differences in demographic characteristics (P < 0.05). Through correlation analysis, the participation motivation, satisfaction, and loyalty of sports app users are highly correlated (P < 0.01). Through multiple regression analyses, the participation motivation, satisfaction, and loyalty of sports app users have a significant positive impact (P < 0.001). In the field of a model predictive control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the predictive flux control (PFC) has received great attention, which only takes the stator flux vector as the control variable instead of the electromagnetic torque and the stator flux amplitude. Because PFC does not involve the cumbersome setting of weight factors, it is a promising control algorithm. However, the prediction of the stator flux vector depends on motor parameters, which inevitably reduces the robustness of the control system. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a hybrid flux predictor‐based predictive flux control of PMSM drives. The proposed stator flux predictor combines the voltage prediction model and the current prediction model, and the proportional–integral regulator is utilised to control the switching between the two prediction models. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has better dynamic, steady‐state and robust performances than the traditional predictive flux control. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Most of those who are interested can learn about the activities of their favourite football club mainly from official websites and accounts on social networks. Due to the deepening climate crisis and the growing awareness of the society, so many people demand very detailed information about corporate environmental impact. Nowadays, a professional football club, wishing to maintain high popularity, should be focusing not only on sports results, but also on attitudes towards the environment and society it presents and promotes. The great example in that case can be top football clubs in the European league because, many other football clubs copy solutions from the best. This paper examines the 5 of top European football clubs’ activities area for the better natural environment and the way how these activities are communicated to the football fans. The main research was conducted using publicly available electronic information channels such as football clubs’ websites, reports or social media (like Facebook) accounts. The aim of the article is to indicate to what extent the functioning and reporting of leading football clubs is also subject to the principles of sustainable development in the field of the natural environment. The results can indicate the significance of the current contribution of the top European football clubs to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, as well as setting the directions of sustainable development for other football clubs in the future. We are experiencing a serious health crisis due to COVID‐19 that has a major impact on the field of education. The educational system therefore needs to be updated and innovated, with the addition of digital resources, to adapt the teaching and learning processes to students with disabilities. To meet the goal of high‐quality education, teachers must have adequate digital competence to face the educational demands that are placed on them. Therefore, the purposes of this study are: to know the teachers' knowledge about digital resources to support students with disabilities (O1); at each educational stage (O2), identify the variables that have a significant impact on the acquisition of teacher competence (O3); propose a selection of useful ICT resources for each type of disability (O4). An ex post facto design was used with 1194 teachers from Andalusia (Spain). The results showed the medium‐low level of the teaching staff, especially in the higher education stage. In addition, gender, motivation, attitude and having students with special needs are determining factors in the development of teacher knowledge. The results highlight the urgent need for teachers to be trained in digital resources. We hope that the range of resources proposed in this study will help teachers enhance their teaching practice. Research remains an integral part of university postgraduate studies. Literature is a key ingredient of research report writing, while paper based information resources are often difficult to remotely access, the internet has encouraged and enhanced information resources access and use. It is therefore pertinent that universities worldwide should ensure the provision and access to information resources, particularly those available in electronic format. This study thus investigated the use of electronic information resources (EIR) by postgraduate students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University using the Davis Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A survey research design was adopted for this study and the population for the study comprised Four Hundred and Sixty-Two (462) postgraduate students of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. Using Yamane (1973) formula, Two Hundred and Fourteen respondents were identified for the study. 214 copies of the questionnaire were administered and 183 copies were retrieved. Out of the 183 copies retrieved, 178 copies were found useful for further use. The return date was 83%. The study found that the TAM parameters influence the use of EIRs by the students, the study thus recommend the sustenance of regular subscriptions to the various EIR database being currently provided by the university. Electronic Information Resources otherwise known as Electronic Resources (ERs) is a global platform for information delivery, especially in the teaching and learning environment. This work investigates the impact ERs could have in revamping the dwindling reading culture among the students of Osun State University. The quantitative method was adopted through the use of a survey. A random sampling technique was used to select 388 respondents as the sample size from the total population of users. A predetermined structured questionnaire was deployed as the instrument of gathering data for the research study, administered to the selected respondents, returned and the data obtained therefrom were subsequently analyzed with simple frequency counts and percentages. Findings indicate that majority of the students utilize ERs to secure success in examinations and as well upgrade their level of information and knowledge. Similarly, e-journals and magazines, e-books, and e-newspapers constitute the information materials sought by the clients while poor internet connectivity, power outage, and insufficient workstations are hindrances to full utilization of ERs. Access and usage of information resources and services are fundamental to effective learning, teaching and research in any time including the period of pandemic disease. This paper therefore examined electronic information resources and services usage in the era of covid-19 pandemic disease in Ilorin metropolis of Kwara State, Nigeria. A survey research design was adopted while 220 university, polytechnic and college of education students in Ilorin metropolis who were accessible during the covid-19 pandemic outbreak constituted the population. The data were gathered using questionnaire and descriptive statistics of frequency counts and simple percentages were used to analyse the data generated. The major findings of the study revealed that e-books, ejournals, internet and e-mail services were frequently used by respondents among the available eresources and services in the era of covid-19 pandemic disease. The results also disclosed that poor study environment, high cost of data subscription and restriction of free movement to the most remote access area affected effective use of the e-resources and services during the pandemic period. The study recommended that the government should make provision for a good enabling study environment that will facilitate easy access and use of e-resources, the government should also appeal to data providers and marketers in reducing the cost of subscription to reduce the sufferings in the era of the pandemic. Finally, the managements of libraries are urged to be more relevant at all times by providing adequate e-resources and services that will promote more accessibility in the period under review. Deepfakes are audio, video, or still-image digital artifacts created by the use of artificial intelligence technology, as opposed to traditional means of recording. Because deepfakes can look and sound much like genuine digital recordings, they have entered the popular imagination as sources of serious epistemic problems for us, as we attempt to navigate the increasingly treacherous digital information environment of the internet. In this paper, I attempt to clarify what epistemic problems deepfakes pose and why they pose these problems, by drawing parallels between recordings and our own senses as sources of evidence. I show that deepfakes threaten to undermine the status of digital recordings as evidence. The existence of deepfakes thus encourages a kind of skepticism about digital recordings that bears important similarities to classic philosophical skepticism concerning the senses. However, the skepticism concerning digital recordings that deepfakes motivate is also importantly different from classical skepticism concerning the senses, and I argue that these differences illuminate some possible strategies for solving the epistemic problems posed by deepfakes. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to present a detailed plan of research on the information architecture of digital library websites. Design/methodology/approach: The research plan was prepared on the basis of a critical analysis of the scientific literature concerning the areas and criteria for the analysis and evaluation of the information architecture of digital resources. The evaluation criteria selected in individual areas of information architecture and the entire evaluation model were tested on the example of Europeana. The study proposes criteria for all areas of information architecture: service identity, organizational system, labeling system and navigation system. Findings: The proposed research model containing areas and criteria for assessing usefulness from the point of view of information architecture may complement the methodology for assessing digital libraries. In a structured manner, it presents areas important for building good digital resources together with criteria for heuristic evaluation. This thesis is confirmed by a study conducted on the example of Europeana. Research limitations/implications: For a more precise assessment of quality, you can add to the proposed criteria related to the information architecture the criteria proposed by Nielsen or other authors. These include, e.g. help users recognize, diagnose and recover from errors, result relevance, consistency of terminology and specific action conventions and an appropriate visual presentation. Practical implications: The model can be used to assess the quality of websites of various digital libraries. Originality/value: The methodology of assessing the quality of digital libraries is in the stage of formation and development. Such studies can apply evaluation criteria prepared to analyze all kinds of information systems and most of all web pages. At the beginning of the 21st century, concepts of using information architecture principles to design and evaluate digital libraries' usability began to take shape. Libraries are increasingly marginalized by the information construction of electronic resources retrieval platform. This calls for a novel social service model (SSM) for libraries to enhance the overall value of their various service functions. Therefore, this paper explores the SSM and value evaluation of libraries under sharing economy. Firstly, the SSM of libraries was broken down into a base layer, a physical layer, and a virtual layer, and an evaluation index system (EIS) was constructed for the social sharing service (SSS) value of libraries. Next, the SSS value of libraries was evaluated and predicted, and the functional value of the SSM of libraries was analyzed in detail.
