The deployment of hydrogen refueling stations is vital to the development of fuel cell vehicles. Past studies on the hydrogen refueling stations didn't consider congestion on paths and assumed all flows are on the shortest paths of OD pairs, which is not consistent with travelers' route choice behavior. In this paper, we study flow refueling location allocation based on the user-equilibrium (UE) status, which is consistent with travelers' route choice behavior. We present a flow-capturing location allocation (FCLA) model on UE conditions. We also presented an equilibrium algorithm avoiding cannibalization to solve the model. Based on the transportation network of Anaheim city in California in the US, we compared the results of applying a non-equilibrium method to the FCLA model and applying the equilibrium method to the FCLA model on UE conditions. The results of the two algorithms and models are different. The equilibrium model and algorithm can capture more flow and has a higher flow-capturing ratio. What's more, the equilibrium model and algorithm can fully capture the expected flow in practice since the real transportation network is basically in UE status. A model to locate hydrogen refueling stations (HRSs) for hydrogen fuel cells vehicles (HFCVs) or hydrogen internal combustion engines vehicles (HICEVs) is proposed in this paper. The model integrated the flow-capturing location allocation (FCLA) model and stochastic user-equilibrium (SUE) status of network flow. An equilibrium algorithm obviating cannibalization was also presented. We compared the effectiveness between node location and link location determined by FCLA between SUE status and non-equilibrium status of the transportation network taking the city of Anaheim in California in America as an example. The results showed that the capture ratios of node-serving and link-serving are different. For the non-equilibrium case, equilibrium case, and hybrid case, the capture ratios of node-serving are 77.72%, 69.51%, and 60.25%, respectively, while the capture ratios of link-serving are 54.37%, 46.34%, and 31.49%, respectively. This means Node-serving performs better than link-serving in terms of capturing flow, either in equilibrium status or non-equilibrium status. The node locations or link locations obtained by the FCLA method in SUE status should be used for locating HRSs because they are consistent with peoples' route choice behavior and thus can fully capture the expected flow in reality. Tucked into strip malls along Brookhurst Street are the scattered agglomeration of restaurants, markets, bakeries, butcher shops, hookah lounges, educational centers, hair salons, and clothing stores catering to groups who come from the Middle East and North Africa. Proliferating over the last twenty-five years, this Anaheim thoroughfare is colloquially known as Little Arabia. The small strip of commerce is supported by the nation's largest Arab population residing throughout Southern California. The emergence of Little Arabia is similar to what scholars refer to as "ethnoburbs," "invisiburbs," and "design assimilated suburbs." Little Arabia, however, represents something different: what this paper refers to as an "ethnoanchor." To illustrate the descriptive utility of the ethnoanchor typology, this paper unpacks the historical, spatial, social, and political dynamics of Little Arabia to illustrate how contemporary migration patterns are influencing suburban regions, collectively illustrating the constitution of a new kind of American dream. Connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) technology is expected to increase road capacity and reduce fuel consumption, but it may take time for all human-driven vehicles (HVs) to be replaced by CAVs. During the transition period, CAVs and HVs will continue to coexist. This paper aims to find an optimal deployment of a CAV platoonable corridor to facilitate CAV platooning and better manage traffic congestion on road networks with a mixed traffic flow of CAVs and HVs. Generally, dedicated infrastructure for CAVs, such as CAV lanes, zones, or corridors, may have distributional welfare effects on travelers. Especially, HV users may be worse off because road space is partially converted to dedicated infrastructure for CAVs. To facilitate equitable infrastructure planning, we develop a bi-level program for a Stackelberg game that incorporates the equity concern, where the planner acts as the leader to determine the optimal deployment of an equitable CAV platoonable corridor at the upper level, while travelers are followers who make user-optimal route choices given the CAV platoonable corridor at the lower level. For the lower-level problem, we model the decision-making of travelers as a platoon-embedded network equilibrium with mixed flow (PNEMF) and derive its equivalent variational inequality (VI) problem. The existence and the uniqueness of the VI solution are proved. To solve the bi-level program efficiently, we propose a simulated-annealing-based corridor search (SACS) algorithm. Our numerical experiments on the Nguyen–Dupuis (ND), Sioux Falls (SF), Anaheim, and Winnipeg networks demonstrate the expected benefits of deploying a CAV platoonable corridor if the CAV market penetration ratio exceeds a certain threshold. In the meantime, both CAV and HV users are better off with the deployed equitable corridor. In addition, we find that the degree of the transportation planner's concern about the inequity issue has a significant impact on the corridor design when the CAV penetration ratio is low. Drawing on surveys from two Mexican immigrant sending communities, this paper comparatively examines the link between subnational policy structures in US destinations and immigrants' settlement and residency behaviour. It focuses in particular on attrition through enforcement policy at the local and state level that is formed to trigger the voluntary exit of undesirable immigrants. With a twofold comparison of immigrants in three cities and two states, the analysis indicates that immigrants do not alter the duration of time they spend in receiving locales or change their state of residence due to restrictive subnational policies. Rather, economic and social factors more prominently shape immigrants' settlement and residency patterns. The implications of this analysis are discussed with particular attention to the incorporation process for immigrants who remain in destinations with attrition through enforcement policy. The article presents various papers on the missionary works by the Bible translation organization SIL International (SIL), which were presented at the 2007 annual meeting of the Linguistic Society of America in Anaheim, California. It includes discussions on practical language development, a short history of SIL and profiles of missionary linguists. The role of SIL in community language development is also discussed.

This paper aims to update readers of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology's (AECT) journal "TechTrends" on how the Book of Problems (BOP) initiative continues to advance, so as to allow interested researchers, policy makers and practitioners to join the community and contribute to its work. The BOP, an initiative of the Learning Development Institute (LDI), has evolved into an on-going dialogue that provides testimony to key concerns and challenges that face humanity today. The BOP event at Anaheim, California was more than just a workshop for the invited members of the BOP community, Both AECT and LDI were interested in broadening the scope of conversation beyond the group that had already been involved. To that effect, the six-hour workshop was followed, the next day, by an open dialogue session for interested conference attendees at large.

The article highlights the role of the Research on Calculus Kinetics (ROCKS) Society in the American Urologists Association (AUA) annual meeting to be held in Anaheim, California on May 22, 2007. Urologists, nephrologists and basic scientists who are members of ROCKS Society will convene at the AUA annual meeting to share their research findings on kidney stone formation. They will also present papers on medical and surgical interventions for prevention and treatment.
