Abstract

Information about several papers discussed at symposium held March 24-25, 2010 sponsored by American Ceramic Society (ACerS) St. Louis Section and Refractory Ceramics Division on innovative material for energy efficiency is presented. Topics include refractory lining design in fired units and difficulties of end users. It featured several ceramic engineers including Steve Chermack, John Hellmann, and Orville Hunter.

Information about several papers discussed at the 2009 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry conference held July 28-31, 2009 sponsored by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy is presented. Topics include the financial aspects of sustainability, how to have greater energy project investment, and the financial dynamics of corporate energy management. The conference featured several speakers including Carl Salas, Christopher Russell, and Thomas A. Mills.
