Abstract
In urban rail-bound systems, operation of trains is influenced not only by the disturbances in the rail-bound system itself, but also by other modes of transport like road traffic in various urban mixed traffic zones. In this paper, two simulation-based approaches for modeling road traffic influences on urban railbound transport, modeling approach and distribution approach, are presented as a resulting integrated model including influences of road traffic and calibration of disturbances based on a suitable probability distribution with significant disturbance parameters respectively. The explanation of the approaches in the first part of the article is followed by aspects of applicability in the second part. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
