Carbon capture and sequestration technology is our best hope for achieving this goal. This technology absorbs carbon dioxide, either from the air or D-om an emission-heavy point source, and places it in long-term storage. One of the most promising storage options is geological carbon sequestration. Geological carbon sequestration involves injecting the absorbed carbon dioxide deep within pore space, the free area between geological.formations. For an area to be useful for geological carbon sequestration. it must have certain characteristics. The most important method of determining whether an area has these characteristics is the seismic survey. As geological carbon sequestration becomes more lucrative due to enhanced technology. governmental incentives, and the boost it provides to a company's environmental, social, and governance score, more property owners will become interested in evaluating their land's potential for this usage. Some such property owners will have already leased their mineral rights, possibly to a rival oil and gasfirm. As these transactions become more common, it is inevitable that conflict WIN erupt.
