With the aim of solving the problem of identifying complex underwater acoustic targets using a single signal feature in the Time–Frequency (TF) feature, this paper designs a method that recognizes the underwater targets based on the Delay-Doppler joint feature. First, this method uses symplectic finite Fourier transform (SFFT) to extract the Delay-Doppler features of underwater acoustic signals, analyzes the Time–Frequency features at the same time, and combines the Delay-Doppler (DD) feature and Time–Frequency feature to form a joint feature (TF-DD). This paper uses three types of convolutional neural networks to verify that TF-DD can effectively improve the accuracy of target recognition. Secondly, this paper designs an object recognition model (TF-DD-CNN) based on joint features as input, which simplifies the neural network's overall structure and improves the model's training efficiency. This research employs ship-radiated noise to validate the efficacy of TF-DD-CNN for target identification. In recent years, with the rapid development of deep learning technology, a large number of excellent convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been proposed, many of which are based on improvements to classical methods. Based on the Inception family of methods, depthwise separable convolution was applied to Xception to achieve lightweighting, and Inception-ResNet introduces residual connections to accelerate model convergence. However, existing improvements for the Inception module often neglect further enhancement of its receptive field, while increasing the receptive field of CNNs has been widely studied and proven to be effective in improving classification performance. Motivated by this fact, three effective expansion modules are proposed in this paper. The first expansion module, Inception expand (Inception-e) module, is proposed to improve the classification accuracy by concatenating more and deeper convolutional branches. To reduce the number of parameters for Inception e, this paper proposes a second expansion module—Equivalent Inception-e (Eception) module, which is equivalent to Inception-e in terms of feature extraction capability, but which suppresses the growth of the parameter quantity brought by the expansion by effectively reducing the redundant convolutional layers; on the basis of Eception, this paper proposes a third expansion module—Lightweight Eception (Lception) module, which crosses depthwise convolution with ordinary convolution to further effectively reduce the number of parameters. The three proposed modules have been validated on the Cifar10 dataset. The experimental results show that all these extensions are effective in improving the classification accuracy of the models, and the most significant effect is the Lception module, where Lception (rank = 4) on the Cifar10 dataset improves the accuracy by 1.5% compared to the baseline model (Inception module A) by using only 0.15 M more parameters. This paper focuses on deep vision sensing-assisted gesture recognition for athletes in dynamic scenes. Although many research attention had been devoted to this field in recent years, most of existing works failed to fully take characteristics of dynamic scenes into consideration. To deal with this challenge, this paper proposes a diffusion convolution neural network-based multiview gesture recognition approach in dynamic scenes. For one thing, the dynamic spatiotemporal slice position selection based on the body mask heatmap is adopted to calculate positions of horizontal and vertical slices. Thus, the dynamic selection of slice positions in two directions can be realized, and then the extraction of bi-directional spatiotemporal slice images can be completed. For another, action sequences through the 3D residual neural network are learned, and the spatiotemporal information among frames are mined through recurrent networks. Through their combination, a multi-view gesture recognition approach for athletes is constructed. In the experiments, two standard datasets UCF101 and HMDB51 are utilized to establish simulation environment. The proposed method can reach the accuracy beyond 95% on the two datasets. For insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) modules using wire bonding as the interconnection method, the main failure mechanism is cracking of the bonded interface. Studying the mechanical properties of the bonded interface is crucial for assessing the reliability of IGBT modules. In this paper, first, shear tests are conducted on the bonded interface to test the bonded interface's strength. Then, finite element–cohesive zone modeling (FE-CZM) is established to describe the mechanical behavior of the bonded interface. A novel machine learning (ML) architecture integrating a convolutional neural network (CNN) and a long short-term memory (LSTM) network is used to identify the shape and parameters of the traction separation law (TSL) of the FE-CZM model accurately and efficiently. The CNN-LSTM architecture not only has excellent feature extraction and sequence-data-processing abilities but can also effectively address the long-term dependency problem. A total of 1800 sets of datasets are obtained based on numerical computations, and the CNN-LSTM architecture is trained with load–displacement (F–δ) curves as input parameters and TSL shapes and parameters as output parameters. The results show that the error rate of the model for TSL shape prediction is only 0.186%. The performance metric's mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) is less than 3.5044% for all the predictions of the TSL parameters. Compared with separate CNN and LSTM architectures, the proposed CNN-LSTM-architecture approach exhibits obvious advantages in recognizing TSL shapes and parameters. A combination of the FE-CZM and ML methods in this paper provides a promising and effective solution for identifying the mechanical parameters of the bonded interfaces of IGBT modules. Accurate power load prediction is an important guide for power system planning and operation. High‐ or low‐load prediction results will affect the operation of the power system. In recent years, deep learning technology represented by convolution neural network (CNN) and transformer has been proved to be suitable for power load prediction. This paper proposes a new short‐term power load hybrid forecasting model, called channel enhanced attention (CEA) and temporal convolutional network (TCN)‐based transformer comprehensive forecasting model. This method combines the short‐term feature extraction ability of TCN with the long‐term dependent capture ability of transformer for short‐term load forecasting. And the CEA designed in this study is added to improve the prediction accuracy. On the same dataset, the designed model predicts power load mean square errors of 0.056 and 0.146 for the next 24 h and the next week, respectively, which is 0.002 to 0.073 and 0.012 to 0.024 lower than the baseline model. The experimental results show that the hybrid short‐term power load prediction model proposed in this paper is significantly better than the existing methods. Recent technological developments have enabled computers to identify and categorize facial expressions to determine a person's emotional state in an image or a video. This process, called "Facial Expression Recognition (FER)", has become one of the most popular research areas in computer vision. In recent times, deep FER systems have primarily concentrated on addressing two significant challenges: the problem of overfitting due to limited training data availability, and the presence of expression-unrelated variations, including illumination, head pose, image resolution, and identity bias. In this paper, a comprehensive survey is provided on deep FER, encompassing algorithms and datasets that offer insights into these intrinsic problems. Initially, this paper presents a detailed timeline showcasing the evolution of methods and datasets in deep facial expression recognition (FER). This timeline illustrates the progression and development of the techniques and data resources used in FER. Then, a comprehensive review of FER methods is introduced, including the basic principles of FER (components such as preprocessing, feature extraction and classification, and methods, etc.) from the pro-deep learning era (traditional methods using handcrafted features, i.e., SVM and HOG, etc.) to the deep learning era. Moreover, a brief introduction is provided related to the benchmark datasets (there are two categories: controlled environments (lab) and uncontrolled environments (in the wild)) used to evaluate different FER methods and a comparison of different FER models. Existing deep neural networks and related training strategies designed for FER, based on static images and dynamic image sequences, are discussed. Power transformers play a critical role in the performance of power systems. This equipment is costly due to significant copper and iron prices and manufacturing costs. Therefore, maintenance and protection of such equipment is essential. Despite its robust performance, maloperation of differential protection (DP) in transformers may cause operational challenges to power system operators. The differential relay may operate incorrectly after the transformer energization leads to an inrush current (IC) and the relay identifies the event as an internal fault, and consequently issues the trip command. The other case of maloperation includes, but not limited to, a moment when the current transformer saturates due to an external fault. In this paper, a novel approach for DP is proposed, that is based on signal processing methods. In this paper, variational mode decomposition (VMD) and the deep neural network are implemented by using the convolutional neural network (CNN) and bi‐directional long short‐term memory (BiLSTM) models. The VMD decomposes differential current signal (DCS) to intrinsic mode functions with corresponding narrow‐band property frequency spectrums, which provides more detailed information about signal characteristics in different frequency bands. At the next stage, an effective feature for the BiLSTM is extracted by the CNN with the convolutional layers to classify events and proper discrimination. Extensive simulations on a 500 MVA transformer in MATLAB demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed protection approach to differentiate ICs from internal and external faults with 99.8% accuracy in less than 1/8th of a power cycle. The purpose of this paper is to help people with auditory and speech disabilities to communicate with others and for controlling computers and machines. This paper proposes two different methods for identifying six distinctive hand gestures and sign language for divergent environmental conditions. The first method is based on the hand feature extraction i.e., convexity defects. For that, initially, the hand region is detected by HSV skin color conversion process. Contour and convex hull of hand are extracted from the hand region. Finally, convexity defects are determined to identify the hand gestures. The second method is deep learning based YOLOv3 model that uses DARKNET-53 convolutional neural network (CNN) as its backbone. The model is trained on a large annotated dataset. Experimental results reveal that the deep-leaning method outperforms the hand feature approach and obtain 98.92% and 95.57% accuracy for deep learning and hand feature-based model respectively. Automated and accurate detection of power quality (PQ) events is important from the point of view of safety as well as maintaining the reliability of the power transmission and distribution network. However, detection of multiple PQ events in a noisy environment is challenging task. Another important issue is the choice of meaningful features that can directly influence the accuracy of PQ detection. Considering these two aforesaid facts, this paper presents a novel framework for automated classification of PQ signals in a noisy environment employing cross Stockwell Transform (XST). The XST proposed in this paper has better noise suppression capability compared to conventional Stockwell Transform. Here, XST was used to convert 1D PQ signals to 2D time–frequency (T–F) images. To improve the accuracy of PQ detection, an automated feature extraction method employing deep learning is implemented in this work. The noise free T–F images obtained using XST were fed as inputs to several pre-trained convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for deep feature extraction. Transfer learning technique was implemented to reduce the computational cost. The extracted deep features were further undergone selection using one-way analysis of variance test followed by false discovery rate correction. The statistically significant deep features were subsequently fed to three benchmark machine learning classifiers for classification of PQ signals. In addition, tests were also carried out on real-life PQ signals to verify the practicability of the proposed framework. The main purpose of this paper is to provide information on how to create a convolutional neural network (CNN) for extracting features from EEG signals. Our task was to understand the primary aspects of creating and fine-tuning CNNs for various application scenarios. We considered the characteristics of EEG signals, coupled with an exploration of various signal processing and data preparation techniques. These techniques include noise reduction, filtering, encoding, decoding, and dimension reduction, among others. In addition, we conduct an in-depth analysis of well-known CNN architectures, categorizing them into four distinct groups: standard implementation, recurrent convolutional, decoder architecture, and combined architecture. This paper further offers a comprehensive evaluation of these architectures, covering accuracy metrics, hyperparameters, and an appendix that contains a table outlining the parameters of commonly used CNN architectures for feature extraction from EEG signals. Lung cancer is an uncontrolled growth of tissue causing a lump in the human lung. If lung cancer can be detected early, it can increase the survival rate. Therefore, a multi-classification approach of lung nodule detection with high computational effectiveness is required. In this paper, a multi-classification approach of lung nodule detection and classification is proposed using artificial intelligence on computed tomography (CT) scan images. Different preprocessing steps are applied for resizing, smoothing, and enhancement of the CT images. Then, two different approaches for feature extraction using VGG16 transfer learning and morphological segmentation are proposed. Morphological segmentation and feature extraction are applied for the segmentation of the region of interest and to extract the distinct features. Finally, the proposed deep learning architecture and seven different machine learning algorithms are applied on the preprocessed data and the extracted features for the classification of lung nodules into three classes: malignant, benign, and normal. It is observed that the stacked ensemble model of deep learning convolutional neural network (CNN) and VGG16 transfer learning models (CNN+VGG16) can achieve 99.55% accuracy using preprocessed data. It is also observed that all the ML algorithms perform with reasonably high accuracy using the low-dimensional morphological features. It is observed from the fivefold cross-validation results that logistic regression performs with 99.36% accuracy in 23.71 s time using the preprocessed data. Whereas, using the morphological features, k-nearest neighbor, and the support vector machine perform with the highest accuracy of 99.76% with very reduced computational time of 0.017 and 0.008 s, respectively. In this paper, a method based on transfer learning is proposed to recover the three-dimensional shape of cultural relics faces from a single old photo. It can simultaneously reconstruct the three-dimensional facial structure and align the texture of the cultural relics with fewer training samples. The UV position map is used to represent the three-dimensional shape in space and act as the output of the network. A convolutional neural network is used to reconstruct the UV position map from a single 2D image. In the training process, the human face data is used for pre-training, and then a small amount of artifact data is used for fine-tuning. A deep learning model with strong generalization ability is trained with fewer artifact data, and a three-dimensional model of the cultural relic face can be reconstructed from a single old photograph. The methods can train more complex deep networks without a large amount of cultural relic data, and no over-fitting phenomenon occurs, which effectively solves the problem of fewer cultural relic samples. The method is verified by restoring a Chinese Terracotta Warrior with facial cracks and a Buddha with a broken nose. Other applications can be used in the fields such as texture recovery, facial feature extraction, and three-dimensional model estimation of the damaged cultural relics or sculptures in the photos. The magnetic flux leakage (MFL) technique is widely employed for nondestructive testing of ferromagnetic specimens and materials, including wire ropes, bridge cables, and pipelines. As regards the MFL testing, extracting features from MFL signals is crucial for defect recognition and estimation of corresponding widths. Deep learning has been extensively used for feature extraction, but it often performs inadequately on a small sample dataset. To address this limitation, this paper develops a network framework that combines the Wavelet Scattering Transform (WST) and Neural Networks (NN) for defect width estimation. The WST is a knowledge-based feature extraction technique with a structure similar to convolutional neural networks. It offers a translation-invariant representation of signal features using a redundant dictionary of wavelets. The NN then maps the WST feature representation to the defect width information. Experiments on real steel plates with defects are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework. Quantitative comparisons of the experimental results demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves better estimation performance in handling MFL signals and has superiority in scenarios with limited training samples. In remote sensing image fusion, the conventional Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) extract local features of the image through layered convolution, which is limited by the receptive field and struggles to capture global features. Transformer utilizes self-attention to capture long-distance dependencies in images, which has a global receptive field, but the computational cost for high-resolution images is excessively high. In response to the above issues, this paper draws inspiration from the FusionNet network, harnessing the local detail acquisition capability of CNNs and the global data procuring capacity of Transformer. It presents a novel method for remote sensing image sharpening named Guided Filtering-Cross Stage Partial Network-Transformer, abbreviated as GF-CSTNet. This solution unifies the strengths of Guided Filtering (GF), Cross Stage Partial Network (CSPNet), and Transformer. Firstly, this method utilizes GF to enhance the acquired remote sensing image data. The CSPNet and Transformer structures are then combined to further enhance fusion performance by leveraging their respective advantages. Subsequently, a Rep-Conv2Former method is designed to streamline attention and extract diverse receptive field features through a multi-scale convolution modulator block. Simultaneously, a reparameterization module is constructed to integrate the multiple branches generated during training into a unified branch during inference, thereby optimizing the model's inference speed. Finally, a residual learning module incorporating attention has been devised to augment the modeling and feature extraction capabilities of images. Experimental results obtained from the GaoFen-2 and WorldView-3 datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed GF-CSTNet approach. Nowadays, computational intelligence-assisted autonomous assessment of education quality has become a more and more general concern in the area of smart education management. As education quality assessment is a complicated process with multiple heterogeneous factors, it remains challenging to make effective assessment using simple information modality and criteria. To deal with this issue, this paper introduces multiscale deep learning, and proposes a novel data-driven autonomous assessment framework for education quality. In particular, four aspects of heterogeneous indicators are selected as the basic indexes and a dilated convolutional neural network structure is formulated to perform multiscale feature extraction. Then, the structural equation is adopted to make multivariate characterization and output the final assessment results. At last, some simulations are carried out on realistic education operation data to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed autonomous assessment framework. Two aspects of findings can be deduced from the results. For one thing, multisource fusion of multiple indicators well makes sense to autonomous education assessment. Intelligent fault diagnostics based on deep learning provides a favorable guarantee for the reliable operation of equipment, but a trained deep learning model generally has low prediction accuracy in cross-domain diagnostics. To solve this problem, a deep learning fault diagnosis method based on the reconstructed envelope spectrum is proposed to improve the ability of rolling bearing cross-domain fault diagnostics in this paper. First, based on the envelope spectrum morphology of rolling bearing failures, a standard envelope spectrum is constructed that reveals the unique characteristics of different bearing health states and eliminates the differences between domains due to different bearing speeds and bearing models. Then, a fault diagnosis model was constructed using a convolutional neural network to learn features and complete fault classification. Finally, using two publicly available bearing data sets and one bearing data set obtained by self-experimentation, the proposed method is applied to the data of the fault diagnostics of rolling bearings under different rotational speeds and different bearing types. The experimental results show that, compared with some popular feature extraction methods, the proposed method can achieve high diagnostic accuracy with data at different rotational speeds and different bearing types, and it is an effective method for solving the problem with cross-domain fault diagnostics for rolling bearings. In this paper, a novel image reconstruction method for printmaking is proposed via the combination of nonlinear diffusion filtering and convolution neural network. Nonlinear diffusion filtering based on a partial differential equation abstracts the input image to extract color features and texture features of images by nonlinear structured tensors. The image color features and texture features are combined to obtain a feature vector, and the feature vector is fed into the model as the input data. Then, the pre-trained deep learning model VGG-19 is utilized as the backbone network for further feature representation, and the extracted feature maps of each layer of the VGG19 model can be visualized for image reconstruction. The quality of the reconstructed images of prints is improved with the powerful feature extraction and combination ability of neural networks, which has the advantages of fast reconstruction speed and high quality of reconstructed images. In order to balance accuracy and real‐time performance in semantic segmentation, this paper proposes a real‐time semantic segmentation algorithm model based on attention mechanism and multi‐branch feature fusion using Fast convolutional neural network model (Fast‐SCNN). In this method, the spatial detail feature enhancement branch is introduced to enhance spatial detail features firstly. Then, through rational design of fusion module, the feature information of each branch is optimized to achieve better fusion of deep and shallow features. At the end of the feature fusion module, an adaptive feature enhancement focus module is introduced to capture the interdependence between remote pixels. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves 71.55% segmentation accuracy on Cityscapes dataset, the reasoning speed FPS is 97.6 frames/s, and the number of parameters is 1.39 M, which verifies the effectiveness of the network model constructed by the algorithm. The fast scenario transfer for portrait styles has been a universal concern in the area of image processing. Conventionally, it was realized mostly by manual manipulation based on expertise experience, which costs a large amount of human labor. To fit the growing business volume in the era of Internet 4.0, it is supposed to investigate reliable autonomous workflow that generates portrait-style results via intelligent algorithms. Therefore, this paper proposes a fast scenario transfer method for portrait styles through collaborative awareness of convolutional neural network (CNN) and generative learning (GAL). On the one hand, a CNN structure is designed to make feature extraction towards the initial images, which can be used for following image generation. On the other hand, the GAL is utilized to generate new images with post-transferred scenario styles, so that the expected scenario style transfer results can be output by generating new images through long-term iterations. Especially, the loss function is designed by simultaneously considering local and global characteristics. Finally, the analysis and experimental results show that the correction process can be completed by injecting the extracted input face features into the feature maps of corresponding sizes in the generation process using a pre-trained feature extractor. In recent years, deep learning methods have achieved remarkable success in hyperspectral image classification (HSIC), and the utilization of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) has proven to be highly effective. However, there are still several critical issues that need to be addressed in the HSIC task, such as the lack of labeled training samples, which constrains the classification accuracy and generalization ability of CNNs. To address this problem, a deep multi-scale attention fusion network (DMAF-NET) is proposed in this paper. This network is based on multi-scale features and fully exploits the deep features of samples from multiple levels and different perspectives with an aim to enhance HSIC results using limited samples. The innovation of this article is mainly reflected in three aspects: Firstly, a novel baseline network for multi-scale feature extraction is designed with a pyramid structure and densely connected 3D octave convolutional network enabling the extraction of deep-level information from features at different granularities. Secondly, a multi-scale spatial–spectral attention module and a pyramidal multi-scale channel attention module are designed, respectively. This allows modeling of the comprehensive dependencies of coordinates and directions, local and global, in four dimensions. Finally, a multi-attention fusion module is designed to effectively combine feature mappings extracted from multiple branches. We present a novel method for real-time fault classification using the time history of acoustic emissions (AEs) recorded from a lab-scale gas turbine operating under normal and faulty conditions across multiple turbine speeds. Time-frequency features are extracted using the continuous wavelet transform, and for each signal, the root mean square (RMS) and kurtosis are calculated. We employ a color mapping technique to combine the time-frequency and statistical features into a single red–green–blue (RGB) image. The red channel is mapped to the time-frequency data, whereas the green and blue channels are mapped to the RMS and kurtosis, respectively. Subsequently, a deep convolutional neural network is trained on the generated images to classify the gas turbine condition. We show that the proposed model can form an online monitoring system using AEs to classify multiple running conditions at various turbine speeds. The methodology not only achieves real-time classification of faults but also minimizes the human intervention in identifying these faults. Electroencephalography (EEG)-based emotion recognition is increasingly pivotal in the realm of affective brain–computer interfaces. In this paper, we propose TSANN-TG (temporal–spatial attention neural network with a task-specific graph), a novel neural network architecture tailored for enhancing feature extraction and effectively integrating temporal–spatial features. TSANN-TG comprises three primary components: a node-feature-encoding-and-adjacency-matrices-construction block, a graph-aggregation block, and a graph-feature-fusion-and-classification block. Leveraging the distinct temporal scales of features from EEG signals, TSANN-TG incorporates attention mechanisms for efficient feature extraction. By constructing task-specific adjacency matrices, the graph convolutional network with an attention mechanism captures the dynamic changes in dependency information between EEG channels. Additionally, TSANN-TG emphasizes feature integration at multiple levels, leading to improved performance in emotion-recognition tasks. Our proposed TSANN-TG is applied to both our FTEHD dataset and the publicly available DEAP dataset. Comparative experiments and ablation studies highlight the excellent recognition results achieved. Compared to the baseline algorithms, TSANN-TG demonstrates significant enhancements in accuracy and F1 score on the two benchmark datasets for four types of cognitive tasks. Hyperspectral image classification (HSIC) has garnered increasing attention among researchers. While classical networks like convolution neural networks (CNNs) have achieved satisfactory results with the advent of deep learning, they are confined to processing local information. Vision transformers, despite being effective at establishing long-distance dependencies, face challenges in extracting high-representation features for high-dimensional images. In this paper, we present the multiscale efficient attention with enhanced feature transformer (MEA-EFFormer), which is designed for the efficient extraction of spectral–spatial features, leading to effective classification. MEA-EFFormer employs a multiscale efficient attention feature extraction module to initially extract 3D convolution features and applies effective channel attention to refine spectral information. Following this, 2D convolution features are extracted and integrated with local binary pattern (LBP) spatial information to augment their representation. Then, the processed features are fed into a spectral–spatial enhancement attention (SSEA) module that facilitates interactive enhancement of spectral–spatial information across the three dimensions. Background: Glaucoma, the second leading cause of global blindness, demands timely detection due to its asymptomatic progression. This paper introduces an advanced computerized system, integrates Machine Learning (ML), convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and image processing for accurate glaucoma detection using medical imaging data, surpassing prior research efforts. Method: Developing a hybrid glaucoma detection framework using CNNs (ResNet50, VGG-16) and Random Forest. Models analyze pre-processed retinal images independently, and post-processing rules combine predictions for an overall glaucoma impact assessment. Result: The hybrid framework achieves a significant 95.41% accuracy, with precision and recall at 99.37% and 88.37%, respectively. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) need to replicate feature detectors when modeling spatial information, which reduces their efficiency. The number of replicated feature detectors or labeled training data required for such methods grows exponentially with the dimensionality of the data being used. On the other hand, space-insensitive methods are difficult to encode and express effectively due to the limitation of their rich text structures. In response to the above problems, this paper proposes a capsule network (self-attention capsule network, or SA-CapsNet) with a self-attention mechanism for text classification tasks, wherein the capsule network itself, given the feature with the symmetry hint on two ends, acts as both encoder and decoder. In order to learn long-distance dependent features in sentences and encode text information more efficiently, SA-CapsNet maps the self-attention module to the feature extraction layer of the capsule network, thereby increasing its feature extraction ability and overcoming the limitations of convolutional neural networks. In addition, in this study, in order to improve the accuracy of the model, the capsule was improved by reducing its dimension and an intermediate layer was added, enabling the model to obtain more expressive instantiation features in a given sentence. Finally, experiments were carried out on three general datasets of different sizes, namely the IMDB, MPQA, and MR datasets. The accuracy of the model on these three datasets was 84.72%, 80.31%, and 75.38%, respectively. Furthermore, compared with the benchmark algorithm, the model's performance on these datasets was promising, with an increase in accuracy of 1.08%, 0.39%, and 1.43%, respectively. This study focused on reducing the parameters of the model for various applications, such as edge and mobile applications. Deep convolutional neural networks have shown advanced performance in accurately segmenting images. In this paper, an SNP-like convolutional neuron structure is introduced, abstracted from the nonlinear mechanism in nonlinear spiking neural P (NSNP) systems. Then, a U-shaped convolutional neural network named SNP-like parallel-convolutional network, or SPC-Net, is constructed for segmentation tasks. The dual-convolution concatenate (DCC) and dual-convolution addition (DCA) network blocks are designed, respectively, in the encoder and decoder stages. The two blocks employ parallel convolution with different kernel sizes to improve feature representation ability and make full use of spatial detail information. Meanwhile, different feature fusion strategies are used to fuse their features to achieve feature complementarity and augmentation. Furthermore, a dual-scale pooling (DSP) module in the bottleneck is designed to improve the feature extraction capability, which can extract multi-scale contextual information and reduce information loss while extracting salient features. The SPC-Net is applied in medical image segmentation tasks and is compared with several recent segmentation methods on the GlaS and CRAG datasets. The proposed SPC-Net achieves 90.77% DICE coefficient, 83.76% IoU score and 83.93% F1 score, 86.33% ObjDice coefficient, 135.60 Obj-Hausdorff distance, respectively. The recognition of food images is of great significance for nutrition monitoring, food retrieval and food recommendation. However, the accuracy of recognition had not been high enough due to the complex background of food images and the characteristics of small inter-class differences and large intra-class differences. To solve these problems, this paper proposed a food image recognition method based on transfer learning and ensemble learning. Firstly, generic image features were extracted by using the convolutional neural network models (VGG19, ResNet50, MobileNet V2, AlexNet) pre-trained on the ImageNet dataset. Secondly, the 4 pre-trained models were transferred to the food image dataset for model fine-tuning. Finally, different basic learner combination strategies were adopted to establish the ensemble model and classify feature information. In this paper, several kinds of experiments were performed to compare the results of food image recognition between single models and ensemble models on food-11 dataset. The experimental results demonstrated that the accuracy of the ensemble model was the highest, reaching 96.88%, which was superior to any base learner. Therefore, the convolutional neural network model based on transfer learning and ensemble learning has strong learning ability and generalization ability, and it is feasible and practical to apply the method to food image recognition. To enhance the accuracy of theft detection for electricity consumers, this paper introduces a novel strategy based on the fusion of the dual-time feature and deep learning methods. Initially, considering electricity-consumption features at dual temporal scales, the paper employs temporal convolutional networks (TCN) with a long short-term memory (LSTM) multi-level feature extraction module (LSTM-TCN) and deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) to parallelly extract features at these scales. Subsequently, the extracted features are coupled and input into a fully connected (FC) layer for classification, enabling the precise detection of theft users. To validate the method's effectiveness, real electricity-consumption data from the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) is used for testing. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a remarkable detection accuracy of up to 94.7% during testing, showcasing excellent performance across various evaluation metrics. Specifically, it attained values of 0.932, 0.964, 0.948, and 0.986 for precision, recall, F1 score, and AUC, respectively. This paper introduces an innovative approach, Deep Multiscale Soft-Threshold Support Vector Data Description (DMS-SVDD), designed for the detection of anomalies and prediction of faults in heavy-duty gas turbine generator sets (GENSETs). The model combines a support vector data description (SVDD) with a deep autoencoder backbone network framework, integrating a multiscale convolutional neural network (M) and soft-threshold activation network (S) into the Deep-SVDD framework. In comparison with conventional methods, such as One-Class Support Vector Machine (OCSVM) and autoencoder (AE), DMS-SVDD demonstrates improvements in accuracy (by 22.94%), recall (by 32%), F1 score (by 12.02%), and smoothness (by 39.15%). The model excels particularly in feature extraction, denoising, and early fault detection, offering a proactive strategy for maintenance. Furthermore, the DMS-SVDD demonstrated enhanced training efficiency with a reduction in the convergence rounds by 66% and overall training times by 34.13%. Background: MicroRNAs play a critical role in regulating gene expression by binding to specific target sites within gene transcripts, making the identification of microRNA targets a prominent focus of research. Conventional experimental methods for identifying microRNA targets are both time-consuming and expensive, prompting the development of computational tools for target prediction. However, the existing computational tools exhibit limited performance in meeting the demands of practical applications, highlighting the need to improve the performance of microRNA target prediction models. Results: In this paper, we utilize the most popular natural language processing and computer vision technologies to propose a novel approach, called TEC-miTarget, for microRNA target prediction based on transformer encoder and convolutional neural networks. TEC-miTarget treats RNA sequences as a natural language and encodes them using a transformer encoder, a widely used encoder in natural language processing. It then combines the representations of a pair of microRNA and its candidate target site sequences into a contact map, which is a three-dimensional array similar to a multi-channel image. Therefore, the contact map's features are extracted using a four-layer convolutional neural network, enabling the prediction of interactions between microRNA and its candidate target sites. We applied a series of comparative experiments to demonstrate that TEC-miTarget significantly improves microRNA target prediction, compared with existing state-of-the-art models. Our approach is the first approach to perform comparisons with other approaches at both sequence and transcript levels. Furthermore, it is the first approach compared with both deep learning-based and seed-match-based methods. We first compared TEC-miTarget's performance with approaches at the sequence level, and our approach delivers substantial improvements in performance using the same datasets and evaluation metrics. Moreover, we utilized TEC-miTarget to predict microRNA targets in long mRNA sequences, which involves two steps: selecting candidate target site sequences and applying sequence-level predictions. We finally showed that TEC-miTarget outperforms other approaches at the transcript level, including the popular seed match methods widely used in previous years. Conclusions: We propose a novel approach for predicting microRNA targets at both sequence and transcript levels, and demonstrate that our approach outperforms other methods based on deep learning or seed match. Medical image fusion aims to fuse multiple images from a single or multiple imaging modes to enhance their corresponding clinical applications in diagnosing and evaluating medical problems, a trend that has attracted increasing attention. However, most recent medical image fusion methods require prior knowledge, making it difficult to select image features. In this paper, we propose a novel deep medical image fusion method based on a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) for directly learning image features from original images. Specifically, source images are first decomposed by low rank representation to obtain the principal and salient components, respectively. Following that, the deep features are extracted from the decomposed principal components via DCNN and fused by a weighted-average rule. Then, considering the complementary between the salient components obtained by the low rank representation, a simple yet effective sum rule is designed to fuse the salient components. Finally, the fused result is obtained by reconstructing the principal and salient components. Natural hazards are considered to have a strong link with climate change and human activities. With the rapid advancements in remote sensing technology, real-time monitoring and high-resolution remote-sensing images have become increasingly available, which provide precise details about the Earth's surface and enable prompt updates to support risk identification and management. This paper proposes a new network framework with Transformer architecture and a Residual network for detecting the changes in high-resolution remote-sensing images. The proposed model is trained using remote-sensing images from Shandong and Anhui Provinces of China in 2021 and 2022 while one district in 2023 is used to test the prediction accuracy. The performance of the proposed model is evaluated by using five matrices and further compared to both convention-based and attention-based models. The results demonstrated that the proposed structure integrates the great capability of conventional neural networks for image feature extraction with the ability to obtain global context from the attention mechanism, resulting in significant improvements in balancing positive sample identification while avoiding false positives in complex image change detection. Ship detection aims to automatically identify whether there are ships in the images, precisely classifies and localizes them. Regardless of whether utilizing early manually designed methods or deep learning technology, ship detection is dedicated to exploring the inherent characteristics of ships to enhance recall. Nowadays, high-precision ship detection plays a crucial role in civilian and military applications. In order to provide a comprehensive review of ship detection in optical remote-sensing images (SDORSIs), this paper summarizes the challenges as a guide. These challenges include complex marine environments, insufficient discriminative features, large scale variations, dense and rotated distributions, large aspect ratios, and imbalances between positive and negative samples. We meticulously review the improvement methods and conduct a detailed analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of these methods. We compile ship information from common optical remote sensing image datasets and compare algorithm performance. Simultaneously, we compare and analyze the feature extraction capabilities of backbones based on CNNs and Transformer, seeking new directions for the development in SDORSIs. In this paper, a novel method is introduced to diagnose the cardiac arrhythmias. Automatic diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias is crucial for successful treatment of heart diseases, and nowadays, machine learning is used to facilitate this purpose. For accurate classification of arrhythmias, it is vital to extract some appropriate features which distinguish different classes. In this research, a deep convolutional neural network is used to extract the features. Since the heart rates of various patients are very different, arrhythmias of a specific class will be placed in different locations of feature space. To reduce the intra-class variations, each patient's heart rate is mapped with a dedicated function to increase its similarity to the heart rate of a training patient. The proposed patient-specific mapping decreases the intra-class variation and significantly increases the classification accuracy of cardiac arrhythmias. Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is a common and high-risk sleep-related breathing disorder. Snoring detection is a simple and non-invasive method. In many studies, the feature maps are obtained by applying a short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and feeding the model with single-channel input tensors. However, this approach may limit the potential of convolutional networks to learn diverse representations of snore signals. This paper proposes a snoring sound detection algorithm using a multi-channel spectrogram and convolutional neural network (CNN). The sleep recordings from 30 subjects at the hospital were collected, and four different feature maps were extracted from them as model input, including spectrogram, Mel-spectrogram, continuous wavelet transform (CWT), and multi-channel spectrogram composed of the three single-channel maps. Three methods of data set partitioning are used to evaluate the performance of feature maps. The proposed feature maps were compared through the training set and test set of independent subjects by using a CNN model. The results show that the accuracy of the multi-channel spectrogram reaches 94.18%, surpassing that of the Mel-spectrogram that exhibits the best performance among the single-channel spectrograms. This study optimizes the system in the feature extraction stage to adapt to the superior feature learning capability of the deep learning model, providing a more effective feature map for snoring detection. This paper proposes an innovative insulator defect recognition method leveraging YOLOv8s-SwinT. Combining Swin Transformer and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) enhances the model's understanding of multi-scale global semantic information through cross-layer interactions. The improved BiFPN structure in the neck achieves bidirectional cross-scale connections and weighted feature fusion during feature extraction. Additionally, a new small-target detection layer enhances the capability to detect tiny defects. Deep transfer learning has been widely used to improve the versatility of models. In the problem of cross-domain fault diagnosis in rolling bearings, most models require that the given data have a similar distribution, which limits the diagnostic effect and generalization of the model. This paper proposes a deep reconstruction transfer convolutional neural network (DRTCNN), which satisfies the domain adaptability of the model under cross-domain conditions. Firstly, the model uses a deep reconstruction convolutional automatic encoder for feature extraction and data reconstruction. Through sharing parameters and unsupervised training, the structural information of target domain samples is effectively used to extract domain-invariant features. Secondly, a new subdomain alignment loss function is introduced to align the subdomain distribution of the source domain and the target domain, which can improve the classification accuracy by reducing the intra-class distance and increasing the inter-class distance. In addition, a label smoothing algorithm considering the credibility of the sample is introduced to train the model classifier to avoid the impact of wrong labels on the training process. Inverse halftoning is a technology that converts a binary image into a continuous tone image. Due to the wide application of inverse halftoning, many scholars have proposed several deep convolutional neural networks (DCNN) to optimize their performance. According to the observation, there is still room for improvement in content generation and detail recovery of the inverse halftone images generated by using the existing methods. Therefore, an inverse halftoning method based on supervised DCNN is proposed in this paper. The method consists of two parts: the multi‐level feature extraction model uses the down‐sampling to extract the features from the halftone image and remove the halftone noise dots on flat areas, which is implemented by four convolutional layers; the image reconstruction model uses up‐sampling to reconstruct image information, which is realized by four convolutional layers and two dense residual blocks. At the same time, in order to further recover the details, the down‐sampling feature maps and up‐sampling feature maps of the same size are concatenated by addition layers. Video‐based emotion recognition has been a long‐standing research topic for computer scientists and psychiatrists. In contrast to traditional discrete emotional models, emotion recognition based on continuous emotional models can better describe the progression of emotions. Quantitative analysis of emotions will have crucial impacts on promoting the development of intelligent products. The current solutions to continuous emotion recognition still have many issues. The original continuous emotion dataset contains incomplete data annotations, and the existing methods often ignore temporal information between frames. The following measures are taken in response to the above problems. Initially, aiming at the problem of incomplete video labels, the correlation between discrete and continuous video emotion labels is used to complete the dataset labels. This correlation is used to propose a mathematical model to fill the missing labels of the original dataset without adding data. Moreover, this paper proposes a continuous emotion recognition network based on an optimized temporal convolutional network, which adds a feature extraction submodule and a residual module to retain shallow features while improving the feature extraction ability. Finally, validation experiments on the Aff‐wild2 dataset achieved accuracies of 0.5159 and 0.65611 on the valence and arousal dimensions, respectively, by adopting the above measures. Wearable sensors are widely used in medical applications and human–computer interaction because of their portability and powerful privacy. Human activity identification based on sensor data plays a vital role in these fields. Therefore, it is important to improve the recognition performance of different types of actions. Aiming at the problems of insufficient time-varying feature extraction and gradient explosion caused by too many network layers, a time convolution network recognition model with attention mechanism (TCN-Attention-HAR) was proposed. The model effectively recognizes and emphasizes the key feature information. The ability of extracting temporal features from TCN (temporal convolution network) is improved by using the appropriate size of the receiver domain. In addition, attention mechanisms are used to assign higher weights to important information, enabling models to learn and identify human activities more effectively. The performance of the Open Data Set (WISDM, PAMAP2 and USC-HAD) is improved by 1.13%, 1.83% and 0.51%, respectively, compared with other advanced models, these results clearly show that the network model presented in this paper has excellent recognition performance. In the knowledge distillation experiment, the parameters of student model are only about 0.1% of those of teacher model, and the accuracy of the model has been greatly improved, and in the WISDM data set, compared with the teacher's model, the accuracy is 0.14% higher. Dynamic monitoring of cropland using high spatial resolution remote sensing images is a powerful means to protect cropland resources. However, when a change detection method based on a convolutional neural network employs a large number of convolution and pooling operations to mine the deep features of cropland, the accumulation of irrelevant features and the loss of key features will lead to poor detection results. To effectively solve this problem, a novel cropland change detection network (CroplandCDNet) is proposed in this paper; this network combines an adaptive receptive field and multiscale feature transmission fusion to achieve accurate detection of cropland change information. CroplandCDNet first effectively extracts the multiscale features of cropland from bitemporal remote sensing images through the feature extraction module and subsequently embeds the receptive field adaptive SK attention (SKA) module to emphasize cropland change. Moreover, the SKA module effectively uses spatial context information for the dynamic adjustment of the convolution kernel size of cropland features at different scales. Finally, multiscale features and difference features are transmitted and fused layer by layer to obtain the content of cropland change. In the experiments, the proposed method is compared with six advanced change detection methods using the cropland change detection dataset (CLCD). The experimental results show that CroplandCDNet achieves the best F1 and OA at 76.04% and 94.47%, respectively. Its precision and recall are second best of all models at 76.46% and 75.63%, respectively. Accurate estimation of Li-ion battery capacity is critical for a battery management system (BMS). This paper proposes an innovative method which combines a convolutional neural network and incremental capacity analysis (ICA). In the present approach, the voltage and temperature, which significantly affect the ICA curve during the discharging process, are adopted as the inputs for CNN. Rather than extracting feature parameters of an IC curve, as is carried out in the available research, the present method uses the whole ICA curve as the input to avoid complicated feature extraction and correlation analysis. The results show that the maximum error of capacity estimation is less than 4.7%, the rectified mean squared error is less than 1.3% for each battery, and the overall RMSE is below 1.12%. Brain extraction is an important prerequisite for the automated diagnosis of intracranial lesions and determines, to a certain extent, the accuracy of subsequent lesion identification, localization, and segmentation. To address the problem that the current traditional image segmentation methods are fast in extraction but poor in robustness, while the Full Convolutional Neural Network (FCN) is robust and accurate but relatively slow in extraction, this paper proposes an adaptive mask-based brain extraction method, namely AMBBEM, to achieve brain extraction better. The method first uses threshold segmentation, median filtering, and closed operations for segmentation, generates a mask for the first time, then combines the ResNet50 model, region growing algorithm, and image properties analysis to further segment the mask, and finally complete brain extraction by multiplying the original image and the mask. The algorithm was tested on 22 test sets containing different lesions, and the results showed MPA = 0.9963, MIoU = 0.9924, and MBF = 0.9914, which were equivalent to the extraction effect of the Deeplabv3+ model. However, the method can complete brain extraction of approximately 6.16 head CT images in 1 second, much faster than Deeplabv3+, U-net, and SegNet models. In summary, this method can achieve accurate brain extraction from head CT images more quickly, creating good conditions for subsequent brain volume measurement and feature extraction of intracranial lesions. The stable operation of the process industrial system, which is integrated with various complex equipment, is the premise of production, which requires the condition monitoring and diagnosis of the system. Recently, the continuous development of deep learning (DL) has promoted the research of intelligent diagnosis in process industry systems, and the sensor system layout has provided sufficient data foundation for this task. However, these DL-driven approaches have had some shortcomings: (1) the output signals of heterogeneous sensing systems existing in process industry systems are often high-dimensional coupled and (2) the fault diagnosis model built from pure data lacks systematic process knowledge, resulting in inaccurate fitting. To solve these problems, a graph feature fusion-driven fault diagnosis of complex process industry systems is proposed in this paper. First, according to the system's prior knowledge and data characteristics, the original multisource heterogeneous data are divided into two categories. On this basis, the two kinds of data are converted to physical space graphs (PSG) and process knowledge graphs (PKG), respectively, according to the physical space layout and reaction mechanism of the system. Second, the node features and system spatial features of the subgraphs are extracted by the graph convolutional neural network at the same time, and the fault representation information of the subgraph is mined. Finally, the attention mechanism is used to fuse the learned subgraph features getting the global-graph representation for fault diagnosis. Rotor-bearing systems are important components of rotating machinery and transmission systems, and imbalance and misalignment are inevitable in such systems. At present, the main challenges faced by state-of-the-art fault diagnosis methods involve the extraction of fault features under strong background noise and the classification of different fault modes. In this paper, a fault diagnosis method based on an improved deep residual shrinkage network (IDRSN) is proposed with the aim of achieving end-to-end fault diagnosis of a rotor-bearing system. First, a method called wavelet threshold denoising and variational mode decomposition (WTD-VMD) is proposed, which can process original noisy signals into intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) with a salient feature. These one-dimensional IMFs are then transformed into two-dimensional images using a Gramian angular field (GAF) to give datasets for the deep residual shrinkage network (DRSN), which can achieve high levels of accuracy under strong background noise. Finally, a comprehensive test platform for a rotor-bearing system is built to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in the field. The true test accuracy of the model at a 95% confidence interval is found to range from 84.09% to 86.51%. The proposed model exhibits good robustness when dealing with noisy samples and gives the best classification results for fault diagnosis under misalignment, with a test accuracy of 100%. It also achieves a higher testing accuracy compared to fault diagnosis methods based on convolutional neural networks and deep residual networks without improvement. Hyperspectral remote sensing images (HSIs) have both spectral and spatial characteristics. The adept exploitation of these attributes is central to enhancing the classification accuracy of HSIs. In order to effectively utilize spatial and spectral features to classify HSIs, this paper proposes a method for the spatial feature extraction of HSIs based on a mutually guided image filter (muGIF) and combined with the band-distance-grouped principal component. Firstly, aiming at the problem that previously guided image filtering cannot effectively deal with the inconsistent information structure between the guided and target information, a method for extracting spatial features using muGIF is proposed. Then, aiming at the problem of the information loss caused by a single principal component as a guided image in the traditional GIF-based spatial–spectral classification, a spatial feature-extraction framework based on the band-distance-grouped principal component is proposed. The method groups the bands according to the band distance and extracts the principal components of each set of band subsets as the guide map of the current band subset to filter the HSIs. A deep convolutional neural network model and a generative adversarial network model for the filtered HSIs are constructed and then trained using samples for HSIs' spatial–spectral classification. Experiments show that compared with the traditional methods and several popular spatial–spectral HSI classification methods based on a filter, the proposed methods based on muGIF can effectively extract the spatial–spectral features and improve the classification accuracy of HSIs. Leveraging multi-view remote sensing images in scene classification tasks significantly enhances the precision of such classifications. This approach, however, poses challenges due to the simultaneous use of multi-view images, which often leads to a misalignment between the visual content and semantic labels, thus complicating the classification process. In addition, as the number of image viewpoints increases, the quality problem for remote sensing images further limits the effectiveness of multi-view image classification. Traditional scene classification methods predominantly employ SoftMax deep learning techniques, which lack the capability to assess the quality of remote sensing images or to provide explicit explanations for the network's predictive outcomes. To address these issues, this paper introduces a novel end-to-end multi-view decision fusion network specifically designed for remote sensing scene classification. The network integrates information from multi-view remote sensing images under the guidance of image credibility and uncertainty, and when the multi-view image fusion process encounters conflicts, it greatly alleviates the conflicts and provides more reasonable and credible predictions for the multi-view scene classification results. Initially, multi-scale features are extracted from the multi-view images using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Following this, an asymptotic adaptive feature fusion module (AAFFM) is constructed to gradually integrate these multi-scale features. An adaptive spatial fusion method is then applied to assign different spatial weights to the multi-scale feature maps, thereby significantly enhancing the model's feature discrimination capability. Finally, an evidence decision fusion module (EDFM), utilizing evidence theory and the Dirichlet distribution, is developed. This module quantitatively assesses the uncertainty in the multi-perspective image classification process. Through the fusing of multi-perspective remote sensing image information in this module, a rational explanation for the prediction results is provided. The efficacy of the proposed method was validated through experiments conducted on the AiRound and CV-BrCT datasets. The results show that our method not only improves single-view scene classification results but also advances multi-view remote sensing scene classification results by accurately characterizing the scene and mitigating the conflicting nature of the fusion process. The tea industry, as one of the most globally important agricultural products, is characterized by pests and diseases that pose a serious threat to yield and quality. These diseases and pests often present different scales and morphologies, and some pest and disease target sizes can be tiny and difficult to detect. To solve these problems, we propose TeaViTNet, a multi-scale attention-based tea pest and disease detection model that combines CNNs and Transformers. First, MobileViT is used as the feature extraction backbone network. MobileViT captures and analyzes the tiny pest and disease features in the image via a self-attention mechanism and global feature extraction. Second, the EMA-PANet network is introduced to optimize the model's learning and attention to the Apolygus lucorum and leaf blight regions via an efficient multi-scale attention module with cross-space learning, which improves the model's ability to understand multi-scale information. In addition, RFBNet is embedded in the module to further expand the perceptual range and effectively capture the information of tiny features in tea leaf images. Finally, the ODCSPLayer convolutional block is introduced, aiming to focus on acquiring richer gradient flow information. The experimental results show that the TeaViTNet model proposed in this paper has an average accuracy of 89.1%, which is a significant improvement over the baseline network MobileViT and is capable of accurately detecting Apolygus lucorum and leaf blight of different scales and complexities. Low-rate distributed denial of service attacks, as known as LDDoS attacks, pose the notorious security risks in cloud computing network. They overload the cloud servers and degrade network service quality with the stealthy strategy. Furthermore, this kind of small ratio and pulse-like abnormal traffic leads to a serious data scale problem. As a result, the existing models for detecting minority and adversary LDDoS attacks are insufficient in both detection accuracy and time consumption. This paper proposes a novel multi-scale Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and bidirectional Long-short Term Memory (bi-LSTM) arbitration dense network model (called MSCBL-ADN) for learning and detecting LDDoS attack behaviors under the condition of limited dataset and time consumption. The MSCBL-ADN incorporates CNN for preliminary spatial feature extraction and embedding-based bi-LSTM for time relationship extraction. And then, it employs arbitration network to re-weigh feature importance for higher accuracy. At last, it uses 2-block dense connection network to perform final classification. The experimental results conducted on popular ISCX-2016-SlowDos dataset have demonstrated that the proposed MSCBL-ADN model has a significant improvement with high detection accuracy and superior time performance over the state-of-the-art models. Deep convolutional neural networks (DNNs) have achieved outstanding performance in this field. Meanwhile, handwritten Chinese character recognition (HCCR) is a challenging area of research in the field of computer vision. DNNs require a large number of parameters and high memory consumption. To address these issues, this paper proposes an approach based on an attention mechanism and knowledge distillation. The attention mechanism improves the feature extraction and the knowledge distillation reduces the number of parameters. The experimental results show that ResNet18 achieves a recognition accuracy of 97.63% on the HCCR dataset with 11.25 million parameters.
