Cotton is one of the major crops in India, where 23% of cotton gets exported to other countries. The cotton yield depends on crop growth, and it gets affected by diseases. In this paper, cotton disease classification is performed using different machine learning algorithms. For this research, the cotton leaf image database was used to segment the images from the natural background using modified factorization-based active contour method. First, the color and texture features are extracted from segmented images. Later, it has to be fed to the machine learning algorithms such as multilayer perceptron, support vector machine, Naïve Bayes, Random Forest, AdaBoost, and K-nearest neighbor. Four color features and eight texture features were extracted, and experimentation was done using three cases: (1) only color features, (2) only texture features, and (3) both color and texture features. The performance of classifiers was better when color features are extracted compared to texture feature extraction. The color features are enough to classify the healthy and unhealthy cotton leaf images. The performance of the classifiers was evaluated using performance parameters such as precision, recall, F-measure, and Matthews correlation coefficient. The accuracies of classifiers such as support vector machine, Naïve Bayes, Random Forest, AdaBoost, and K-nearest neighbor are 93.38%, 90.91%, 95.86%, 92.56%, and 94.21%, respectively, whereas that of the multilayer perceptron classifier is 96.69%. Preterm birth (PTB) in a pregnant woman is the most serious issue in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, especially in rural India. In recent years, various clinical prediction models for PTB have been developed to improve the accuracy of learning models. However, to the best of the authors' knowledge, most of them suffer from selecting the most accurate features from the medical dataset in linear time. The present paper attempts to design a machine learning model named as risk prediction conceptual model (RPCM) for the prediction of PTB. In this paper, a feature selection approach is proposed based on the notion of entropy. The novel approach is used to find the best maternal features (responsible for PTB) from the obstetrical dataset and aims to predict the classifier's accuracy at the highest level. The paper first deals with the review of PTB cases (which is neglected in many developing countries including India). Next, we collect obstetrical data from the Community Health Centre of rural areas (Kamdara, Jharkhand). The suggested approach is then applied on collected data to identify the excellent maternal features (text-based symptoms) present in pregnant women in order to classify all birth cases into term birth and PTB. The machine learning part of the model is implemented using three different classifiers, namely, decision tree (DT), logistic regression (LR), and support vector machine (SVM) for PTB prediction. The performance of the classifiers is measured in terms of accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity. A leading cause of death from natural disasters over the last 50years is witnessed by none other than earthquake occurrences which have a negative economic impact on the world and claimed thousands of lives over the years, causing devastation to properties. In this paper, a novel Ensemble Earthquake Prediction Method (EEPM) is proposed and implemented to produce a strong learner (ensemble method) having better accuracy in prediction, less variance, and less errors. Data (parameters) which is continuous in nature is collected from two countries, India and Nepal, for five years, and surveyor's data (precursor) which is categorical in nature is collected from three countries India, Nepal, and Kenya for five years on the specific earthquake-prone regions. The preprocessed data is generated by combining parameters and precursor data. EEPM focuses on detecting the accurate and better early signs of an earthquake and finding the probability of occurrence of an earthquake in the specified region, i.e., better prediction and robustness. The results of EEPM produced better R 2 and less variance and less error in comparison to individual machine learning methods as well as better accuracy 87.8%, compared to state-of-the-art ensemble methods. The prediction of earthquake will alarm not only the people of the society but also the different organizations to explain the appropriate range of magnitude and dynamics of occurrence of earthquake. Agriculture is a main source of income for farmers in India. Farmers produce many seasonal local crops based on their location. Cotton is the most produced crop across India. Cotton is a commercial crop, and farmers get good capital from cotton. This will increase the income of the farmer. However, one of the basic problems with cotton is that it is easily exposed to many diseases. These diseases need to be identified as early as possible to avoid production loss. In this paper, the CNN algorithm is used to create the prediction model by leveraging the TensorFlow's Keras API. This model is further used in mobile app development which helps the farmers identify cotton disease and recommend the pesticides which can be used to overcome the disease. The TensorFlow open-source platform was used to prepare the ML model. The TensorFlow Tflite model is created, and after that, the model is converted into the Core ML model, which is used in iOS app to make the disease predication. Google's core API is used to convert the TensorFlow model into the Core ML model. The label dataset was used to create the model. The Swift language is used in app development. The model accuracy was around 90%. Currently, boll rot and fungal leafspot disease are detected in this app. However, the app can be further extended for other cotton diseases too. The use of digital medical images is increasing with advanced computational power that has immensely contributed to developing more sophisticated machine learning techniques. Determination of age and gender of individuals was manually performed by forensic experts by their professional skills, which may take a few days to generate results. A fully automated system was developed that identifies the gender of humans and age based on digital images of teeth. Since teeth are a strong and unique part of the human body that exhibits least subject to risk in natural structure and remains unchanged for a longer duration, the process of identification of gender- and age-related information from human beings is systematically carried out by analyzing OPG (orthopantomogram) images. A total of 1142 digital X-ray images of teeth were obtained from dental colleges from the population of the middle-east part of Karnataka state in India. 80% of the digital images were considered for training purposes, and the remaining 20% of teeth images were for the testing cases. The proposed gender and age determination system finds its application widely in the forensic field to predict results quickly and accurately. The prediction system was carried out using Multiclass SVM (MSVM) classifier algorithm for age estimation and LIBSVM classifier for gender prediction, and 96% of accuracy was achieved from the system. Pesticides are chemicals used to eradicate pests. Not only are they used for plant protection and livestock in agriculture, but they are also used in public areas to kill mosquitoes, cockroaches, and other pests. Approximately 95% of the pesticides produced are only used in agriculture for crop protection. Every country wants to increase crop production. To protect their crops from pests, farmers must use pesticides. Exposure to pesticides is increasing day by day, whether occupationally or environmentally. This has resulted in an increase in crop production, but it has numerous adverse effects on human health, animal health, and the environment. Farmers repeatedly use the same pesticides on their crops, which is detrimental to human health and the environment. In this research, according to authors, the repetition of pesticides in agriculture is controlled using adjuvant and machine learning algorithms. An adjuvant is a chemical agent that is inserted within the pesticide product for enhanced pesticide performance. By utilizing an algorithm for machine learning, it is no longer necessary to repeatedly spray the same pesticide over the entire crop field in order to determine which sections of the crop field still require repeated pesticide spraying. In this research, the authors predict that 72.5% of insecticides are used in India. Climate change and pollution are serious issues that are driving people to adopt renewable energy instead of fossil fuels. Most renewable energy technologies rely on atmospheric conditions to generate power. Solar energy is a renewable energy source that causes the least environmental damage. Solar energy can be converted to electricity, which necessitates the use of a PV system. This study presents a design, which analyses the output power performance of PV, using machine learning technique in India and Malaysia; using this, we would get the predicted amount of solar power using different weather conditions for both India and Malaysia. This study is divided into two sections, such as the data collection section and the implementation system. Dataset was collected from a weather NASA website, which took various weather parameters, based on which the model will be evaluated. The proposed research work is developed using ANN and is an amalgamation of statistical regression and neural networks, which help the model to get high accuracy by helping the model learn more complex relationships between parameters, which is able to evaluate the output power performance of photovoltaic cells with different environmental condition parameters in India and Malaysia. The ANN models are found to successfully predict PV output power with root mean square error (RMSE) of 1.5565, which was used as a measure of our model's accuracy. This ANN model also outperforms other models available in the literature. This will have a noteworthy contribution in scaling the PV deployment in countries such as India and Malaysia and will increase the share of PV power in their national power production, as it would give the industry and the two countries an idea as to how the predicted output PV power would vary based on weather conditions, such as temperature. Lung cancer is the major cause of cancer-related death in this generation, and it is expected to remain so for the foreseeable future. It is feasible to treat lung cancer if the symptoms of the disease are detected early. It is possible to construct a sustainable prototype model for the treatment of lung cancer using the current developments in computational intelligence without negatively impacting the environment. Because it will reduce the number of resources squandered as well as the amount of work necessary to complete manual tasks, it will save both time and money. To optimise the process of detection from the lung cancer dataset, a machine learning model based on support vector machines (SVMs) was used. Using an SVM classifier, lung cancer patients are classified based on their symptoms at the same time as the Python programming language is utilised to further the model implementation. The effectiveness of our SVM model was evaluated in terms of several different criteria. Several cancer datasets from the University of California, Irvine, library were utilised to evaluate the evaluated model. As a result of the favourable findings of this research, smart cities will be able to deliver better healthcare to their citizens. Patients with lung cancer can obtain real-time treatment in a cost-effective manner with the least amount of effort and latency from any location and at any time. Several industries have recently seen the replacement of human labor by automated machinery and equipment. Across the globe, farmers' attitudes on the use of technology in agriculture are divergent. However, although some people are excited and ready to embrace technology, others are cautious and wary of trying new technologies for the first time. The third category is particularly prevalent in underdeveloped nations such as India, owing to a lack of competence, a lack of effective translation, and most crucially, a lack of financial resources. It is fruitless for the government to attempt to resolve these difficulties due to the fact that they do not take into consideration the changing circumstances and input needs of each agricultural group. Smart Tillage is a cutting-edge framework that was developed to solve the challenges listed above. In India, a decision-based smart engine for the rental and sharing of tools and equipment has been developed, which leverages machine learning methods to proceed towards a selection of tools and equipment. The option is entirely reliant on a variety of input variables, including crop kind, harvest time/month, crop equipment needed, harvest type, and the amount of money available for rental. Additionally, an ideal recommendation engine driven by content and collaborative-based filtering will provide the farmer's requirements depending on their requirements. In terms of escalation, the proposals would be cost-effective and excellent since they would need little changes in training, technique improvements, and resource management via a new rent-share model similar to that used by Uber. Farmers' physical labor and debt are reduced as a result of agricultural automation, which emphasizes efficient and effective use of various machines in farming operations with the purpose of reducing physical labor and debt. It is a revolutionary idea in agriculture to create custom hiring centers, which are intended to make it easier for like-minded farmers to embrace technology/machinery for enhanced resource management practices. The study in question examines the significance of tool renting and sharing in the workplace. Rental and sharing equipment are two approaches that might be used to enable farmers to borrow equipment at a cheaper cost than they would otherwise have to pay for it. The following is a manual pilot study of 562 farmers in India to address the numerous challenges farmers face when looking for tools and equipment, as well as to determine their strong interest in the process of renting and sharing equipment. K-nearest neighbors was the most often used model, followed by logistic regression and decision trees. In order to get the best possible result, a comparison of the aforementioned algorithm models was carried out, which revealed that the decision tree is the better model among the others in this regard. Because the decision tree model is completely reliant on a large number of input factors, such as the kind of crop, the time/month of harvest, and the type of equipment necessary for the crops, it has the potential to have a social and economic impact on farmers and their livelihoods. Summary: Demand‐side energy management increases the unpredictability and ambiguity of forecasting the load profiles of residential energy management. The energy management accuracy seems to be low by employing a traditional residential energy forecasting algorithm. This research work emphasizes on design and development of computer‐assisted residential energy management by forecasting employing a deep learning algorithm. Hankel matrix is formed using copula function to process the collected automatic metering infrastructure (AMI) load data in the smart grid. From this data processing, model optimization was obtained by the proposed novel pooling‐based deep neural network (PDNN). Moreover, this proposed PDNN avoid overfitting problem in training and testing by increasing AMI data variety and data size. The proposed PDNN is implemented in the TensorFlow platform. Based on real‐time AMI southern grid data onto Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, India testing case studies was carried. Compared to traditional residential energy management techniques the proposed deep learning model outperforms support vector machine by 9.5% and 12.7%, deep belief network by 6.5% and 9.5%, and neural network auto aggressive integral moving average by 20.5% and 8.5% in terms of accuracy of energy forecasting and mean absolute error, respectively. Overall, the obtained results proved the effectiveness of the proposed deep learning algorithm for residential short‐term load forecasting and management over other traditional methods.
