Existing literature ignores to consider multiple types of pollutants when analyzing energy efficiency and its convergence. Under this background, using SuperSBM-GML model, the improved entropy method, and convergence model, this paper calculates the green total-factor energy efficiency and its evolution trend of 35 China's industrial sub-sectors considering multiple pollutants, and analyzes its convergence. The results indicate that the average score of industrial green total-factor energy efficiency is low, and there are significant differences among sub-sectors: "Utilization of waste resources" is the highest, while "Manufacture of paper and paper products" is the lowest. The green total-factor energy efficiency shows an overall upward trend from 2006 to 2021, the main driving force comes from technological progress, but numerous sub-sectors have not sufficiently caught up with existing cutting-edge technologies. Specifically, the growth rate of green total-factor energy efficiency in high-energy-consumption sub-sectors is higher than low-to-medium-energy-consumption sub-sectors. There are both σ-convergence and β-convergence in low-to-medium-energy-consumption group, indicating that development of sub-sectors is stable and outstanding. Nevertheless, the high-energy-consumption group only exhibits conditional β-convergence, revealing an imbalance in energy efficiency development. Consequently, formulating the benchmark level of energy efficiency and developing energy efficiency "leader" system are suggested for low-to-medium and high-energy-consumption sub-sectors, respectively. The large-scale implementation of renewable energy systems necessitates the development of energy storage solutions to effectively manage imbalances between energy supply and demand. Herein, we investigate such a scalable material solution for energy storage in supercapacitors constructed from readily available material precursors that can be locally sourced from virtually anywhere on the planet, namely cement, water, and carbon black. We characterize our carbon-cement electrodes by combining correlative EDS-Raman spectroscopy with capacitance measurements derived from cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge experiments using integer and fractional derivatives to correct for rate and current intensity effects. Texture analysis reveals that the hydration reactions of cement in the presence of carbon generate a fractal-like electron-conducting carbon network that permeates the load-bearing cement-based matrix. The energy storage capacity of this space-filling carbon black network of the high specific surface area accessible to charge storage is shown to be an intensive quantity, whereas the high-rate capability of the carbon-cement electrodes exhibits self-similarity due to the hydration porosity available for charge transport. This intensive and self-similar nature of energy storage and rate capability represents an opportunity for mass scaling from electrode to structural scales. The availability, versatility, and scalability of these carbon-cement supercapacitors opens a horizon for the design of multifunctional structures that leverage high energy storage capacity, highrate charge/discharge capabilities, and structural strength for sustainable residential and industrial applications ranging from energy autarkic shelters and self-charging roads for electric vehicles, to intermittent energy storage for wind turbines and tidal power stations. This study explored the association between renewable energy uptake and digitalization in the sector by reviewing relevant literature (published 2010–2022), with the aim of identifying the existing utilization of digital technologies within the sector, challenges to adoption, and future prospects. Different search engines (SCOPUS, Web of Science, and Google Scholar) were used to locate relevant papers and documents. The results revealed the high significance of digital technologies in supporting the renewable energy sector, with high costs and security risks representing the key challenges. Most papers reviewed had a positive outlook, but recommended further research and development for effective energy transition and resilient infrastructure. The current drivers of the integration of digital technologies to support the diffusion of renewable energy sources appear to extend beyond energy demand and involve many aspects of sustainability and sustainable development. Compared with previous reviews, this work has unique scope and novelty since it considers the bigger picture of the coupling between digitalization and the renewable energy sector, with a greater focus on critical areas in these two interconnected bodies that need to be addressed. As a new energy resource with great development potential, the exploitation of hot dry rock geothermal resources is increasing around the world. However, the drilled formations, such as granite and other rocks with high hardness and wear resistance, seriously restrict the drilling efficiency. Polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) bit, cone bit and PDC-cone composite bit are mainly used for geothermal drilling, but there is a lack of research on the drilling conditions of these bits to compare their advantages and disadvantages horizontally. This paper conducted rock-breaking experiment of granite under normal temperature and pressure using full-sized bit and analyzed weight on bit, torque and axial, radical and circumferential acceleration of three types of bits. This paper analyzed the cutting marks at the bottom of the rock and the wear of the bits, which can reflect the possible failure mode of bits in the process of drilling. Moreover, the monitored data from sandstone to granite in two wells numbered XX34-3-1 and XXB-1-1 and the wear and failure degree of three types of bits are discussed. Indoor experiments and field applications have proved that PDC bit has the highest rate of penetration (ROP) with the largest wear degree in granite formation. The wear of tri-cone bit is smallest but its drilling efficiency is low. The ROP and wear of PDC-cone composite bit are between the two kinds of bits mentioned above. The pulp and paper industry faces several challenges linked to climate and environmental impact, resource efficiency, rising energy prices, increased competition for biomass resources, and declining demand for traditional printed paper products. However, these challenges also offer strategic opportunities for the industry to develop into a competitive, resource-efficient, and low-carbon industry in line with a biobased economy. Against this background, this paper aims to analyse current energy strategies in the pulp and paper industry in Sweden. Specifically, the paper analyses how companies combine continuous process efficiency to reduce energy costs with activities that could be developed into new energy-related products to increase revenue. Most of the analysed companies work to various degrees with both these strategies, employing methods that include improving energy efficiency, energy security, and energy conversion, as well as developing a wide range of biobased energy products. However, our study indicates that there is an untapped potential associated with energy product development, and we conclude that energy efficiency measures can free up resources, enabling the development of new energy products. Nanocellulose (NC) is a new frontier subject of research owing to its unique material properties. The key challenge in producing the NC on commercial scale is high energy requirement in mechanical methods and high use of toxic chemicals in chemical methods. The present study aimed at development of a process protocol for energy-efficient production of NC from cotton linters. Four different production processes involving the chemical and enzyme pretreatments and mechanical processing such as beating, refining, Ultra-High Pressure Homogenization were studied. The cellulase enzyme (1%) pretreatment of cotton linters followed by controlled temperature refining (15 passes at 23 ± 5 °C) was found to be most efficient production process in terms of optimum size and less energy consumption. The NC obtained by this optimized process protocol had fibre diameter of 125 ± 25 nm and the energy consumption of the process was as less as 9.96 kWh/kg NC produced. The process involved 50–66% less energy requirement as compared to the reported average value of 20–30kWh/kg for NC production. NC produced from cotton linters using this optimized process protocol can find the application as a reinforcing agent in Kraft papers and biocomposite films to enhance their mechanical properties. A key challenge in prevention of global warming is how to increase energy efficiency, to be able to deal with increased fossil CO2 emissions from rising energy usage. Increasing energy efficiency will decrease energy usage and is in a key role in emission mitigation. The focus is the pulp and paper industry, which is energy-intensive. Development of industrial energy efficiency has been studied before but the role of industrial transformation is still mostly unknown. The knowledge must be improved, to be able to predict future developments in the most effective way. In this research, impact of various production unit closures and start-ups on energy efficiency of the Finnish pulp and paper industry were studied utilizing statistical analysis. Results indicate that about 20% of the Finnish pulp and paper industry energy efficiency improvement between 2011 and 2017 is caused by the major structural changes. The rest, 80% of the progress, was mainly due to improved technology and more optimal operational modes. The development of renewable energy sources minimizes the burning of fossil fuels for clean and green environment. Electrochemical energy storage/conversion device pays a way towards sustainable development that concludes an emerging field in the trends of the research community. Prominently, the functional materials with suitable structure and property determine the performance and durability of the devices. In recent times, graphene with its tremendous properties play a major role in electrochemical energy device applications. Meanwhile, the graphene-based electrodes were fabricated by various coating techniques on existing electrodes that utilized for energy device fabrication. Apart from these, it is also fabricated in a paper like a form (self-supported or free-standing) with its remarkable high conductivity, flexibility, robustness and electrochemical behavior which have been nominated for fabrication of flexible energy devices. Paper-like electrodes become an emerging field to fabricate a light-weight and flexible electronic devices for future prospects. Thus, we have summarized a synthetic strategy of graphene paper and its properties that potentially focused on flexible device fabrication in both the energy storage and conversion system. However, the complexity of most industrial sectors creates barriers for modellers, companies, and policymakers in understanding and achieving the overall potential for efficiency-driven energy savings. To address this gap, we have developed a novel method that combines disaggregated bottom-up sector energy modelling with analysis of a comprehensive set of technology-explicit energy efficiency measures. This approach overcomes the deficiencies of top-down analyses and better represents the complexities of multi-measure efficiency investments compared to piecewise studies of individual measures. In this study, we demonstrated application of our method to the case of the Canadian pulp and paper sector. Our analysis shows that the sector can reduce its natural gas and electricity use by 95% and 41%, respectively, by adopting economical efficiency measures. This equates to 71 PJ of natural gas and 44 PJ of electricity saved annually and would result in cost savings of $81 per tonne of output sector-wide. Notably, we find that efficiency and fuel switching have the technical potential to reduce natural gas consumption by 98% across the sector. Taken together, the results provide quantitative evidence that energy efficiency is an underestimated resource for cost-effective energy savings in the Canadian pulp and paper sector. Sensor-based agriculture monitoring systems have limited outcomes on the detection or counting of vegetables from agriculture fields due to the utilization of either conventional color transformations or machine learning-based methods. To overcome these limitations, this research is aimed at proposing an IoT-based smart agriculture monitoring system with multiple algorithms such as detection, quantification, ripeness checking, and detection of infected vegetables. This paper presents smart agriculture monitoring systems for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The CHT has been applied to detect and quantify vegetables from the agriculture field. Using color thresholding and color segmentation techniques, defected vegetables have also been detected. A machine learning method-convolutional neural network (CNN) has been used for the development and implementation of all algorithms. A comparison between traditional methods and CNN has been simulated in MATLAB to find out the optimal method for its implementation in this agricultural monitoring system. Compared to the traditional methods, the CNN is the optimal method in this research work which performed better over the previously developed algorithms with an accuracy of more than 90%. As an example (case study), a tomato field in Chittagong, Bangladesh, was chosen where a camera-mounted mobile robot captured images from the agriculture field for which the proposed IoT-based smart monitoring system was developed. This system will benefit farmers through the digitally monitored output at an agriculture field in Bangladesh as well as in Malaysia. Since this proposed smart IoT-based system is still driven by bulky, costly, and limited powered sensors, in a future work, for the required power of sensors, this research work is aimed at the design and development of an energy harvester (hybrid) (HEH) based on ultralow power electronics circuits to generate the required power of sensors. With the continuous development of new energy power generation and smart grid, Power Electronic Transformer (PET) has a good prospect for development because of its remarkable advantages. Based on the topology of AC/DC/AC, the modulation strategy with dual-PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) is adopted to control the operation of power electronic transformers in this paper. The PET structure consists of three units: importation portion, isolation portion and output portion. Model building and analyzing both at the input and output terminals are achieved step by step. And the simulation of the whole PET system with dual-PWM is accomplished with MATLAB/ Simulink. The simulation results show the control system stability and output voltage regulation precision are improved with feed-forward voltage decoupling vector control system. The correctness and effectiveness of the control strategy are demonstrated through the simulation. Digital twins have emerged as novel technology in the wind energy sector that enables the design, monitoring and prediction of wind turbine performance. Despite growing attention on their potential, little is known about how digital twins are designed, by whom and how their design choices affect multiple aspects of decision making in the development of wind energy. Using a framework of co-production, this paper examines digital twins as boundary objects and the role of twinning as boundary work that involves an active process of design and affects multiple aspects of decision making in the development of wind energy. Our results demonstrate how the design of digital twins evolves throughout the twinning process, affected by regulation, choices of expert twinners on data and models, and what constitutes a matter of concern. We shed light on the role of these twinners in influencing which actors and their matters of concern are included and excluded during the twinning process. Our understanding of twinning as an active process of governance by design more clearly reveals how digital twins are not objective representations of reality, but a function of boundary work. Based on panel data for 30 provinces in China from 2000 to 2020, this paper uses entropy method to construct the integrated development indicators of energy Internet, and explores the impact of the development of the energy Internet on reducing carbon emissions in China and its internal transmission mechanism. The research results show that the development of energy Internet can significantly reduce regional carbon dioxide emissions, and increasing the use of renewable energy is an important mechanism for the comprehensive development of energy Internet to curb carbon emissions. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the emission reduction effect brought by the development of energy Internet is more remarkable in the regions with lower carbon emissions and western China. Furthermore, this paper finds that in the setting of the development of energy Internet, the development of renewable energy can promote natural gas consumption and advance energy conversion efficiency. The government's emphasis on regional technology development has an external strengthening effect on carbon emission reduction. Accurate short-term load forecasting (STLF) plays an essential role in sustainable energy development. Specifically, energy companies can efficiently plan and manage their generation capacity, lessening resource wastage and promoting the overall efficiency of power resource utilization. However, existing models cannot accurately capture the nonlinear features of electricity data, leading to a decline in the forecasting performance. To relieve this issue, this paper designs an innovative load forecasting method, named Prophet–CEEMDAN–ARBiLSTM, which consists of Prophet, Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise (CEEMDAN), and the residual Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) network. Specifically, this paper firstly employs the Prophet method to learn cyclic and trend features from input data, aiming to discern the influence of these features on the short-term electricity load. Then, the paper adopts CEEMDAN to decompose the residual series and yield components with distinct modalities. In the end, this paper designs the advanced residual BiLSTM (ARBiLSTM) block as the input of the above extracted features to obtain the forecasting results. By conducting multiple experiments on the New England public dataset, it demonstrates that the Prophet–CEEMDAN–ARBiLSTM method can achieve better performance compared with the existing Prophet-based ones. Sustainable urban regeneration, in particular with respect to energy, has become a very important issue for local communities currently as a result of the Green New Deal (GND). With the development of renewable energy power systems, electric vehicles, as an important carrier of green transportation, are gradually having an impact on the power grid load curve due to their charging behavior. However, the significant influx of electric vehicles (EVs) and distributed power sources has led to multiple uncertainties, increasing the difficulty in making grid scheduling decisions. Traditional robust scheduling strategies tend to be overly conservative, resulting in poor economic performance. Therefore, this paper proposes a robust and economic dispatch strategy for park power grids based on the information gap decision theory (IGDT). Firstly, based on the probabilistic characteristics of the spatial and temporal distribution of EVs charging, the Monte Carlo method is used to generate typical electricity usage scenarios for EVs. Simultaneously, an economic dispatch model for the park power grid is established with the objective of minimizing operating costs. Taking into account the uncertainty of renewable energy output, simulation analysis is conducted through the IGDT model. Finally, through the verification of the improved IEEE-33 node test system and comparison with other methods, the proposed approach in this paper can reduce decision conservatism and effectively reconcile the contradiction. Through analysis, the proposed method in this paper can reduce the total operational cost of the system by up to 3.2%, with a computational efficiency of only 8.9% of the traditional stochastic optimization time. With the rapid development of global energy transformation and new power system, ensuring the stability of distributed energy grid connections is the key to maintaining the reliable operation of the whole power system. This paper constructs detailed impedance models of grid-following (GFL) and grid-forming (GFM) inverters using a harmonic linearization method and thoroughly investigates the mechanisms of resonance when inverters are connected to the grid, as well as the impact of model parameters on the stability of the grid system. This paper also briefly analyzes the scenario where distributed energy and electric vehicles are integrated into the grid simultaneously, demonstrating that grid system stability can be ensured in complex grid situations through reasonable parameter design. Electric vehicles can reduce the dependence on limited resources such as oil, which is conducive to the development of clean energy. An accurate battery state of health (SOH) is beneficial for the safety of electric vehicles. A multi-feature and Convolutional Neural Network–Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory–Multi-head Attention (CNN-BiLSTM-MHA)-based lithium-ion battery SOH estimation method is proposed in this paper. First, the voltage, energy, and temperature data of the battery in the constant current charging phase are measured. Then, based on the voltage and energy data, the incremental energy analysis (IEA) is performed to calculate the incremental energy (IE) curve. The IE curve features including IE, peak value, average value, and standard deviation are extracted and combined with the thermal features of the battery to form a complete multi-feature sequence. A CNN-BiLSTM-MHA model is set up to map the features to the battery SOH. Experiments were conducted using batteries with different charging currents, and the results showed that even if the nonlinearity of battery SOH degradation is significant, this method can still achieve a fast and accurate estimation of the battery SOH. The Mean Absolute Error (MAE) is 0.1982%, 0.1873%, 0.1652%, and 0.1968%, and the Root-Mean-Square Error (RMSE) is 0.2921%, 0.2997%, 0.2130%, and 0.2625%, respectively. Summary: The present paper validates the working of a new model reference adaptive system (MRAS) based sensorless speed control strategy for induction motor (IM) drive in general, using a Golden section (GS) based energy optimization method for low and medium speed range operation. The MRAS is formed using instantaneous and steady‐state values of a fictitious resistive quantity (R) that does not carry any physical significance. The said formulation is free from flux computation and independent on stator/rotor resistance variation. Moreover, the sensorless formulation does not involve any integration/differentiation operator. This makes the scheme immune to the drift, saturation and noise related problems enabling accurate estimation of speed even at zero and low‐speeds. This sensorless scheme is further unified with an elementary energy optimization strategy. The overall scheme is observed to work even more efficiently at low load torque without hindering the speed response. Moreover, the performance of the proposed scheme is compared with Q‐MRAS estimator. All the relevant studies, in this context, are done in Matlab/Simulink. In the present work, we prepare Cellulose Nanofibers Films (CNFs) incorporating silver nanostructures (Ag/AgCl nanocubes) in a ratio of 1–20 wt% to the organic matrix. We found that with the increase of Ag wt%, a raise in crystalline species corresponding to Ag/AgCl was observed. The diffraction pattern in 2Ө = 44.7° planes belonging to Ag (2 0 0) shifts to 2Ө = 45.45° with planes AgCl (2 2 0), due to the increase of Ag. Furthermore, we describe that incrementation in silver concentration aid in fibers gaining a higher arrangement. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images showed cubic structures formed by smaller cubic nanostructures. Electrochemical Impedance tests determined electrical resistance of the films, obtaining values of 551 Ω cm2, 62.6 Ω cm2, 3.78 Ω cm2, 7.9 Ω cm2, and 15.8 Ω cm2 for concentrations of 1 wt%, 5 wt%, 10 wt%, 15 wt%, and 20 wt% respectively; in addition to obtaining the CPE from films, demonstrating that they possess electrical conduction and energy storage capabilities. This document discusses recent advances and challenges in emerging power systems, specifically focusing on the integration of renewable energy sources with conventional power networks. The development of renewable energy solutions has been driven by concerns about diminishing fossil fuels, increasing energy demand, pollution, and global warming. The integration of renewable energy sources presents challenges in terms of operation, control, and protection practices. With the rapid development of renewable energy and the increasing maturity of energy storage technology, microgrids are quickly becoming popular worldwide. The stochastic scheduling problem of microgrids can increase operational costs and resource wastage. In order to reduce operational costs and optimize resource utilization efficiency, the real-time scheduling of microgrids becomes particularly important. After collecting extensive data, reinforcement learning (RL) can provide good strategies. However, it cannot make quick and rational decisions in different environments. As a method with generalization ability, meta-learning can compensate for this deficiency. Therefore, this paper introduces a microgrid scheduling strategy based on RL and meta-learning. This method can quickly adapt to different environments with a small amount of training data, enabling rapid energy scheduling policy generation in the early stages of microgrid operation. This paper first establishes a microgrid model, including components such as energy storage, load, and distributed generation (DG). Then, we use a meta-reinforcement learning framework to train the initial scheduling strategy, considering the various operational constraints of the microgrid. The experimental results show that the MAML-based RL strategy has advantages in improving energy utilization and reducing operational costs in the early stages of microgrid operation. Under the background of green and low‐carbon transformation of industrial high‐energy‐consuming parks, in order to realize the coordinated development planning of energy and transportation under different peaking capacity requirements, this paper proposes a collaborative optimization model of industrial high‐energy‐consuming parks under green and low‐carbon. Firstly, by studying the energy balance mechanism between industrial load and new energy, an energy topology prior model of energy interaction in the next generation of industrial new energy power grid is constructed. Then, based on the probability characteristics of the equilibrium state of different regions in the high‐energy‐consuming industrial zone, combined with the prior knowledge of industrial load and low‐carbon power system, a collaborative development planning model of high‐energy‐consuming industrial parks is constructed. Finally, the proposed model is simulated. From the simulation results the authors can see the dynamic division model and solution algorithm of energy balance region established in this paper can effectively improve the energy balance ability of power grid, reduce peak shaving demand and use more renewable energy. With the development of renewable energy technologies such as photovoltaics and wind power, it has become a research hotspot to improve the consumption rate of new energy and reduce energy costs through the deployment of energy storage. To solve the problem of the interests of different subjects in the operation of the energy storage power stations (ESS) and the integrated energy multi-microgrid alliance (IEMA), this paper proposes the optimization operation method of the energy storage power station and the IEMA based on the Stackelberg game. In the upper layer, ESS optimizes charging and discharging decisions through a dynamic pricing mechanism. In the lower layer, IEMA optimizes the output of various energy conversion coupled devices within the IEMA, as well as energy interaction and demand response (DR), based on the energy interaction prices provided by ESS. The results demonstrate that the optimization strategy proposed in this paper not only effectively balances the benefits of the IEMA and ESS but also enhances energy consumption rates and reduces IEMA energy costs. In the context of energy conservation and emission reduction, the integration and consumption of large-scale wind and solar resources is an inevitable trend in future energy development. However, with the increase of wind and solar grid-connected capacity, the power system also requires more flexible resources to ensure safe operation. To enhance the economic efficiency of the complementary operation of wind, solar, hydro, and thermal sources, considering the peak regulation characteristics of different types of power sources, the study of the joint dispatch model of complementary utilization of various generation methods like wind, solar, hydro, thermal, and storage is of great significance for the economic dispatch of the power system. Existing studies mainly focus on traditional thermal power units or hydropower units, with few studies investigating the impact of pumped-storage power stations on the absorption of renewable energy. Firstly, this paper introduces the composition and function of each unit under the research framework and establishes a joint dispatch model for wind, solar, hydro, and thermal power. Secondly, the paper elaborates on the objective function within the model, mainly covering the operating costs of thermal power units, hydropower units, pumped storage, wind and solar units, the cost of discarding new energy, and the cost of load shedding. Subsequently, the paper presents the constraints of the system model, mainly the feasible boundaries for the operation of each unit within the system. Finally, The results of the calculations show that the proposed model reduces the total operating cost by 12% and the power abandonment rate by 82% compared to the conventional model. It is shown that the proposed model can not only significantly improve the economic efficiency of the system operation but also reduce the level of energy waste and load shedding, effectively enhancing the degree of energy utilization within the system. Considering the negative consequences of the excessive use of non-renewable energy and the development of technologies related to photovoltaic energy, the present paper aims to analyze if the photovoltaic systems are economically viable for university hospitals. A photovoltaic system was designed in the parking lot of the University Hospital of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and analyzed the financial viability of its installation. As a result, the photovoltaic system is financially viable, with an expected generation of 194.2 MWh in the first year and a payback of 7 years. Thus, this paper contributes to the feasibility of photovoltaic projects in university hospitals, reducing electric energy consumption, reducing its operational costs, reducing the emission of pollution, and diversification of the Brazilian energy matrix. In the contemporary era, the global rise of two-wheeler electric vehicles has become pivotal for sustainable development and energy conservation. The necessity for an efficient and effective charger for these vehicles is evident. While numerous two-wheeler electric vehicle chargers are available in the market, this research paper introduces a novel on-board charger tailored specifically for two-wheeler vehicles. The proposed charger integrates totem pole ACDC converter and DC-DC converter to achieve unity power factor and ensure constant current battery charging, thereby enhancing overall efficiency. The incorporation of these converters not only improves charging performance but also facilitates a higher degree of energy conservation. This paper delves into the simulation and analysis of this innovative two-wheeler electric vehicle charger. The use of both converters is instrumental in minimizing harmonics injected into the grid, contributing to enhanced grid compliance. Over the past decade, Chinese government has invested large amounts of government subsidies to support the development of new energy vehicle (NEV) industry. Whether the government subsidy has achieved the expected effect and how to further adjust the subsidy policy to better promote the development of the NEV industry have received wide attention. This paper considers the characteristics of technological innovation and financing constraints of enterprises at different position of the NEV industry chain, and empirically test the incentive effect of government subsidies on R&D investment from the perspective of the industry chain. The research findings show that government subsidies promote the R&D investment of all enterprises in the NEV industry chain, however, the promotion effect on upstream and midstream enterprises is more significant. With the reduction of consumption subsidies, the promotion effect of government subsidies on the R&D investment of listed companies in the NEV industry has been strengthened. Further research finds that government subsidies promote R&D investment by alleviating the financing constraints of upstream and midstream enterprises. There is an industry chain synergy effect in the technological innovation of new energy vehicle enterprises, and government subsidies can promote this synergistic effect from upstream to downstream. The rapid development of renewable energy presents challenges to the security and stability of power systems. Aiming at addressing the power system scheduling problem with load demand and wind power uncertainty, this paper proposes the establishment of different error fuzzy sets based on the Wasserstein probability distance to describe the uncertainties of load and wind power separately. Based on these Wasserstein fuzzy sets, a distributed robust chance-constrained scheduling model was established. In addition, the scheduling model was transformed into a linear programming problem through affine transformation and CVaR approximation. The simplex method and an improved differential evolution algorithm were used to solve the model. Finally, the model and algorithm proposed in this paper were applied to model and solve the economic scheduling problem for the IEEE 6-node system with a wind farm. To address complex issues, facilitated modelling aims to represent and accommodate plural worldviews from many stakeholders and experts. In these contexts, group homogeneity can become problematic when participants' plurality of perspectives and information is missing and people attending facilitated sessions have similar problem perceptions and interests. This is a challenge because it can lead to narrow discussion, groupthink and undermine output quality. Despite not being uncommon, effective approaches to deal with homogeneity are hardly reported. This paper presents a new role—the New Devil's Advocate—in which some facilitators leave their neutrality-oriented stance and act as the missing stakeholders. The paper illustrates a first application to a group model building process aimed at supporting the development of energy efficiency policies in the UK. To evaluate the results, workshop transcripts were coded, participants' and facilitators' feedback collected, and the modelling output assessed with respect to the New Devil's Advocate interventions during the workshop. Although the role performance appears to increase facilitators' workload and be influenced by role performers' personality and background, the analysis shows positive results as a promising practice to address homogeneity. This review paper delves into the various control strategies utilized by energy management controllers and explores their coordination mechanisms. The paper surveys a spectrum of EMCs, including conventional-based, rule-based, optimization-based, hybrid methods, and commercial software-based approaches, highlighting their respective advantages and drawbacks. The global trend of reducing the "carbon footprint" has influenced the dynamic development of projects that use renewable energy sources, including the development of solar energy in large solar power plants. Consequently, there is an increasingly pronounced need in scientific circles to consider the impact these projects have on space and the environment. The fact that international financial institutions consider environmental effect to be a significant factor when funding solar energy projects is one of the main reasons this topic is so important in professional circles, particularly among solar energy investors. This paper highlights the fact that solar power plants can have both positive and negative impacts on space and the environment. Those impacts need to be defined in order to choose optimal spatial and territorial solutions that ensure preventive planning and active environmental protection. In the process, the application of strategic environmental assessment (SEA) in the planning and spatial organization of solar power plants becomes important. SEA is characterized by a holistic approach where complex interactions and correlations in the location of planned implementation of the solar power plant can be understood at the earliest stage of project development. By doing this, it is possible to prevent all potential risks that may emerge in the project's later stages of implementation, which is favorable both from the aspect of effective environmental protection and from the point of view of investors investing in solar power plant projects. Optimal solutions that bring about the basic role of SEA are sought primarily in the analysis of the spatial relations of the solar power plant with regard to land, biodiversity, landscape, and basic environmental factors, which is particularly highlighted in the paper. Also, the basic methodological concept applied in SEA is demonstrated, combining different methodological approaches and methods for impact assessment, as part of a unique semi-quantitative method of multi-criteria evaluation of planning solutions. In the context of sustainability, the integration of renewable energy into industrial processes not only minimizes dependence on fossil fuels but also contributes to the efficient management of industrial waste. By transforming organic waste, including agri-food and urban waste, into biogas, green energy can be generated, thus reducing the impact on the environment and closing the loop of material used in the economic circuit. Thus, a sustainable system can be promoted, where resources are continuously reused and exploited. Statistical methods and a decision tree with the Classification and Regression Trees (CRT) algorithm were employed to analyze data. The paper focuses on the importance of industrial waste and biogas for the generation, transformation, and consumption of energy in the EU (European Union)-27 countries. To provide a thorough analysis, we have divided these countries based on real gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, grouping them above/below the annual average for the period 2012–2021/2022. Descriptive statistics revealed observable differences between the two groups, but the paper aimed to provide evidence regarding the existence of these differences as statistically significant. Using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, the non-normal distribution of the data was confirmed, requiring non-parametric inferential methods. The Mann–Whitney U test revealed statistically significant differences between the two groups for all the studied variables. While previous studies have focused on assessing wind energy potential and terrain roughness, gaps persist in understanding how wind and spatial conditions affect blade geometry. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact of local wind conditions on wind turbine blade geometry, integrating nonuniform wind inflow due to wind shear into the theoretical model. Through the paper, it explores blade design for varying inflow conditions and analyses the relationship between terrain type and blade designs. A novel approach to wind turbine blade design, utilizing a theoretical model that combines the local momentum theorem with insights from propeller vortex theory was adopted. Through the analysis, the authors demonstrate that variations in terrain significantly influence blade geometry, underscoring the necessity for tailored turbine designs based on local conditions. The findings reveal discrepancies in blade geometry across different turbine capacities and terrain types, offering novel insights into wind turbine performance optimization. By tailoring blade geometry to specific locations enhances resource utilization, offering insights for energy policymakers. Water scarcity poses significant challenges in arid regions like the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) due to constant population growth, considering the effects of climate change and water management aspects. The desalination technologies face problems like high energy consumption, high investment costs, and significant environmental impacts by brine discharge. This paper researches the relationships among water scarcity, energy-intensive desalination, and the development of renewable energy in MENA, with a particular focus on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. It examines innovations in solar-powered desalination, considering both solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal technologies, in combination with traditional thermal desalination methods such as multi-effect distillation (MED) and multi-stage flash (MSF). The environmental impacts associated with desalination by brine discharge are also discussed, analyzing innovative technological solutions and avoidance strategies. Utilizing bibliometrics, this report provides a comprehensive analysis of scientific literature for the assessment of the research landscape in order to recognize trends in desalination technologies in the MENA region, providing valuable insights into emerging technologies and research priorities. Despite challenges such as high initial investment costs, technical complexities, and limited funding for research and development, the convergence of water scarcity and renewable energy presents significant opportunities for integrated desalination systems in GCC countries. In The Birth of Energy (2019), Cara New Daggett offers an incisive critique of the dominant thermodynamic concept of energy. 'Energy', Daggett shows, is inextricably tied to an exploitative productivist politics that extols the virtues of work and the sins of waste. In this paper, I seek to develop new conversations between Daggett's account in The Birth of Energy and an important empirical development within the energy industry that Daggett herself does not consider: the smart grid. The paper draws upon a mixed-methods research project, investigating a UK smart grid trial called 'OpenDSR' devised and implemented by Manchester-based co-operative Carbon Co-op, with funding from the UK government. I draw on my research within OpenDSR to make two interconnected arguments. Firstly, I argue that the smart grid sees an intensification of the energy-as-work logic that Daggett opposes, taking pre-existing preoccupations with calculation and measurement within the energy system to new extremes in pursuit of the maximisation of efficiency and the minimisation of waste. I then proceed to think through the political implications of this argument, contending that while the smart grid reproduces the dominant energy logic that Daggett critiques, it might still have a part to play within an emancipatory environmental politics. In making this claim, a second argument emerges, constituting a sympathetic critique of Daggett's account more broadly. Daggett offers an incisive and important contribution that does much to develop debates within the energy social sciences and humanities. However, I suggest that her account risks obscuring some important political differences between variegated forms of work and waste: while she makes a persuasive case for an anti-work conceptualisation of energy that portends liberation from waged labour, her analysis of the kinds of 'efficiency' that pertain to the energy system seems less compelling. Introduction: With the development of the energy market and the gradual rise of emerging market players, the linkage of interests between energy sources and loads in the Integrated Energy System (IES) has become increasingly complex. Additionally, the reliability of the system has been impacted by the growing proportion of renewable energy output. Methods: To address the challenges posed by the above issues. This paper first proposes an operational strategy for an integrated energy system that incorporates the uncertainty of wind and solar output using a master-slave game approach. To enhance system robustness and cost-effectiveness, the paper introduces the information gap decision theory (IGDT). Second, building on this foundation, the system operator is considered as the leader, adding a tiered carbon trading mechanism and cloud energy storage system, and building a system revenue maximization model. Then, the user is regarded as the follower, and an optimization model is developed based on integrated demand response (IDR). Finally, the two-layer model is converted into a mixed-integer linear programming problem (MILP) to be solved by the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions (KKT) combined with the big M method. Results: The analysis of the example shows that according to the difference of the decision maker's attitude towards risk, different scheduling schemes can be obtained through the two perspectives of risk-seeking and risk-avoiding, which can provide guidance for the dynamic operation of the system, and at the same time, the users can be guided by the energy differentials to reasonably use the energy under this strategy. In this paper, 22 indexes are selected at three levels, including the informatization development level, the Internet development level, and the digital transaction development level, based on China's provincial panel data from 2011 to 2020, so as to build a digital economy development index system. Moreover, 28 basic indexes are selected from three aspects, including energy construction, energy production and energy consumption, so as to develop an energy economy development evaluation index system. The development index of China's digital economy and energy economy are measured by using the entropy weight method. The effect of the digital economy on the energy economy and its mechanism are tested by the static panel, the dynamic panel, and the mediating effect and regulating effect models. The results indicate that the digital economy has pronouncedly promoted the development of China's energy economy, and the development of the digital economy can have an effect on the rationalization of the industrial structure and then affect the development of the energy economy, and there is an intermediary effect. Moreover, the upgrading of the industrial structure is conducive to regulating the digital economy and facilitates the development of the energy economy. The development of the energy economy can be better promoted by focusing on the coordinated regional layout of the digital economy development, building a reliable energy commodity trading platform, and expediting the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure. The government has set an ambitious target of renewable energy development in Malaysia. As a promising renewable energy source, wind energy plays an important role in the Malaysia renewable energy roadmap. Compared to onshore wind energy, offshore wind resources with better quality can be provided in the areas away from the coast, which has greater potential to contribute to electricity generation. Wind and bathymetry conditions are two important factors that determine the feasibility and economics of offshore wind turbines. In this paper, an investigation is conducted on wind and bathymetry conditions around Malaysia. The data source mainly originates from the Global Wind Atlas. The conditions of the coastal areas in different states and federal territories of both Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia are analysed, with a specific focus on wind speed, wind energy density, and bathymetry conditions in high-wind-speed regions. The data and survey are verified and compared with the past published literature. This paper aims to investigate the wind and bathymetry conditions around Malaysia, assess the potential of offshore wind energy, discuss the feasibility of offshore wind turbines, and provide references for offshore wind development in Malaysia. A fair and efficient renewable energy quota allocation scheme is essential for China to implement the Renewable Portfolio Standards policy. Therefore, based on the principles of fairness and efficiency, this paper comprehensively considers the differences among provinces and then proposes and adopts an improved zero-sum gains data envelopment analysis method to reallocate quotas. Furthermore, for verifying the superiority of the proposed method, this paper establishes a composite index based on the Gini coefficient and the Theil index to compare the rationality of the distribution results. Finally, this paper discusses the relevant advice for the development of renewable energy. The results validate that the proposed method is superior to the traditional method. Additionally, according to the final quota distribution scheme, there are fewer renewable energy quotas in the northern provinces and more in the southern provinces. The quota of most provinces is lower than 50 × 109 kWh, while Guangdong, Sichuan, Yunnan, Jiangsu, and Hunan are the five provinces with the most renewable energy quota of over 100 × 109 kWh. In general, this study provides a more rational renewable energy quota redistribution approach, which will help the government to establish an efficient and fair mechanism of renewable energy quota allocation. The worldwide appeal has increased for the development of new technologies that allow the use of green energy. In this category, photovoltaic energy (PV) stands out, especially with regard to the presentation of forecasting methods of solar irradiance or solar power from photovoltaic generators. The development of battery energy storage systems (BESSs) has been investigated to overcome difficulties in electric grid operation, such as using energy in the peaks of load or economic dispatch. These technologies are often applied in the sense that solar irradiance is used to charge the battery. We present a review of solar forecasting methods used together with a PV-BESS. Despite the hundreds of papers investigating solar irradiation forecasting, only a few present discussions on its use on the PV-BESS set. Therefore, we evaluated 49 papers from scientific databases published over the last six years. We performed a quantitative analysis and reported important aspects found in the papers, such as the error metrics addressed, granularity, and where the data are obtained from. We also describe applications of the BESS, present a critical analysis of the current perspectives, and point out promising future research directions on forecasting approaches in conjunction with PV-BESS. Our objective is to establish a solid theoretical foundation and practical strategies for the precise implementation of integrated planning and operation dispatching of source–grid–load–storage systems. Based on this, the paper first delves into the theoretical concepts of source, grid, load, and storage, comprehensively exploring new developments and emerging changes in each domain within the new power system context. Secondly, it summarizes pivotal technologies such as data acquisition, collaborative planning, and security measures, while presenting reasonable prospects for their future advancement. Finally, the paper extensively discusses the immense value and potential applications of the integrated planning and operation dispatching concept in source–grid–load–storage systems. This includes its assistance in regards to large-scale engineering projects such as extreme disaster management, facilitating green energy development in desertification regions, and promoting the construction of zero-carbon parks.
