While there is increased attention to power, privilege, and access in mathematics education, conversations around race and disability are often left out of the conversation. Disability in mathematics continues to be studied with a lens that focuses on behavior, rather than attending to the situated and sociopolitical context in which teaching and learning takes place. This paper specifically calls on the importance of an intersectional analysis of ability and the need for explicit conversation on the interwoven nature of race and disability to uncover exclusionary practices of hyper‐labeling, hyper‐surveilling, and hyper‐punishing for those outside notions of normalcy. Drawing on sociopolitical perspectives informed by Disability Critical Race Theory (DisCrit) and DisCrit Classroom Ecology, I share a framework of DisCrit noticing to consider the interwoven nature of racism and ableism in mathematics classrooms, provide a context to develop preservice teacher DisCrit noticing during mathematics methods, and a case example to highlight implications and transformative possibilities for (re)organizing classrooms through the DisCrit noticing framework. This paper examines the conceptions of 'number sense' as promoted in pre-service primary mathematics education courses at 11 South African Higher Education Institutions through the texts used by academics or prescribed for students. While all the participating institutions agree that the development of primary school learners' 'number sense' is central to their mathematics methodology courses and that there is an overwhelming amount of research and literature on 'number sense' nationally and internationally, their conceptualisations of the nature of 'number sense' vary. Teacher educators, who develop pre-service teacher education courses, were asked to provide the texts, used to underpin the 11 universities' mathematics education modules in the Bachelor of Education (Foundation and Intermediate Phases) and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Foundation and Intermediate Phases) programmes. These texts were analysed drawing on Whitacre et al.'s emphasis on three 'number sense constructs' identified as Innate Number Sense, Early Number Sense and Mature Number Sense. The results show that there is no common language of description for 'number sense' across the 11 universities. Teacher quality in primary schools in South Africa is a serious concern, and how best to prepare teachers in initial teacher education—with regard to mathematics—remains an open and vexing question. There is a confluence of challenges facing the mathematics education community in South Africa: poor conceptual understanding of mathematics amongst teachers; poor attainment in Primary Teacher Education mathematics tests at both first and fourth year levels; and few initial teacher education programmes having evidence of improving knowledge for teaching mathematics. In addition, few lecturers in initial teacher education make explicit the theoretical tenets informing their course design for mathematics. In response to the latter challenge, this paper makes explicit the design choices made in the Emergent Number Sense first year mathematics module in Bachelor of Education degrees, used across six universities in South Africa. It then theorises the choice to commence the B.Ed mathematics programmes with two pathways into number knowledge: (1) a counting pathway, making use of discrete objects or events which can be quantified by counting in ones; and (2) a measurement pathway, making use of continuous extents which can be quantified by introducing a unit of measurement. Each has a distinct metaphor, strategy for the reification of the 10 and supporting representation. This offers the lecturers using the course in their own design trials, and initial teacher educators beyond the Maths4Primary Teachers collective, a conceptual framework for this design choice, which can now be critiqued and further improved. Research on mathematical equivalence, and to some extent, on number structure in early grade mathematics, has shown that most students at primary and secondary levels understand these concepts instrumentally rather than relationally. The study reported in this paper uses a design research approach to explore both mathematical equivalence and number structure in a primary pre-service teacher education programme at a university in South Africa and reports on an intervention strategy intended to culminate in developing design principles comprising guidelines for the effective teaching of number structure and mathematics equivalence in primary pre-service teacher education programmes. The mixed method study comprises 70 first-year primary pre-service teachers (PSTs) and a teacher educator. The PSTs wrote pre- and post-tests, and were interviewed following the pre-test. Skemp's notion of relational and instrumental understanding guided the design of the intervention and the analysis of the data. The results from the study indicates that PSTs' understanding of the notion of equivalence is similar to what has been reported for students in schools, and that there were some learning gains in the post-test results. This paper investigates the relationship between strata of abelian differentials and various mapping class groups afforded by means of the topological monodromy representation. Building off of prior work of the authors, we show that the fundamental group of a stratum surjects onto the subgroup of the mapping class group which preserves a fixed framing of the underlying Riemann surface, thereby giving a complete characterization of the monodromy group. In the course of our proof we also show that these “framed mapping class groups” are finitely generated (even though they are of infinite index) and give explicit generating sets. Large‐scale standardized tests are regularly used to measure student achievement overall and for student subgroups. These uses assume tests provide comparable measures of outcomes across student subgroups, but prior research suggests score comparisons across gender groups may be complicated by the type of test items used. This paper presents evidence that among nationally representative samples of 15‐year‐olds in the United States participating in the 2009, 2012, and 2015 PISA math and reading tests, there are consistent item format by gender differences. On average, male students answer multiple‐choice items correctly relatively more often and female students answer constructed‐response items correctly relatively more often. These patterns were consistent across 34 additional participating PISA jurisdictions, although the size of the format differences varied and were larger on average in reading than math. The average magnitude of the format differences is not large enough to be flagged in routine differential item functioning analyses intended to detect test bias but is large enough to raise questions about the validity of inferences based on comparisons of scores across gender groups. This paper examines the hitherto unknown scientific collaboration between the siblings Elli Heesch (1904–1993) and Heinrich Heesch (1906–1995). Heinrich Heesch, a well-known mathematician, was spearheading the early development of the computer-aided proof of the four-colour theorem. Much less is known about his sister Elli Heesch, a philosopher and logician. Together with her brother she investigated tiling problems and worked out a solution of Hilbert's 18th problem. In 1944, Elli and Heinrich Heesch wrote a joint treatise on the industrial application of the tessellation method, which was of great interest to the German war and armaments industry. The collaboration of the Heesch siblings illustrates individual, disciplinary, cultural, and political aspects of knowledge production. The common interplay of close family relations and socio-political conditions that we find here underlines the fact that women's contributions to solving mathematical problems often remained invisible. Let K and L be two convex bodies in R n , n ≥ 2 , with L ⊂ int K . We say that L is an equichordal body for K if every chord of K tangent to L has length equal to a given fixed value λ . Barker and Larman (Discrete Math. 241(1–3), 79–96 (2001)) proved that if L is a ball, then K is a ball concentric with L. In this paper we prove that there exist an infinite number of closed curves, different from circles, which possess an equichordal convex body. This paper will argue for the teaching of component skills in philosophy. We can distinguish between complex and component skills. Component skills bear a kind of constitutive relation to complex skills. We observe this distinction at use in standard pedagogies related to activities like sports, music performance, and mathematics. The central thesis is that devoting pedagogical resources to the development of component skills, especially at introductory levels, promotes better learning outcomes with respect to complex philosophical skills. In this paper, we establish local well-posedness for the Zakharov system on T d , d ≥ 3 in a low regularity setting. Our result improves the work of Kishimoto (J Anal Math 119:213–253, 2013). Moreover, the result is sharp up to ε -loss of regularity when d = 3 and d ≥ 5 as long as one utilizes the iteration argument. We introduce ideas from recent developments of the Fourier restriction theory. The key element in the proof of our well-posedness result is a new trilinear discrete Fourier restriction estimate involving paraboloid and cone. In this paper, we propose a new nonlinear optimization model to solve semidefinite optimization problems (SDPs), providing some properties related to local optimal solutions. The proposed model is based on another nonlinear optimization model given by [S. Burer and R. Monteiro, A nonlinear programming algorithm for solving semidefinite programs via low-rank factorization, Math. Program. Ser. B 95 (2003), pp. 329–357], but it has several nice properties not seen in the existing one. Firstly, the decision variable of the proposed model is a triangular low-rank matrix. Secondly, the existence of a strict local optimum of the proposed model is guaranteed under some conditions, whereas the existing model has no strict local optimum. In other words, it is difficult to construct solution methods equipped with fast convergence using the existing model. Following the seminal work of Gloria Ladson-Billings, research on culturally responsive pedagogy (CRP) has, in recent years, expanded significantly. Ladson-Billings proposes three elements of CRP: academic achievement, cultural competence, and sociopolitical consciousness. Nevertheless, in mathematics education research on CRP, the sociopolitical consciousness element is often under-explored or even absent. This paper began as an investigation of how LadsonBillings’ three elements could be used to examine prospective and practicing teachers’ (PPTs') perspectives on CRP, prior to their participation in a professional development course on CRP in the mathematics classroom. Thirty-one participants from three separate offerings of the course responded in writing to a set of open questions about CRP (in general and in mathematics). Thematic data analysis pointed to the complexities of categorising the data based primarily on Ladson-Billings’ three elements. In addition, our analysis indicated five components underpinning participants’ responses: challenges; opportunities; fears; resistance; insights. We conclude with a revised conceptualisation of CRP for mathematics teacher education programmes aimed at supporting PPTs’ development of their CRP-related knowledge, skills, and dispositions. Background: Measurement of students' self‐regulation skills is an active topic in education research, as effective assessment helps devising support interventions to foster academic achievement. Measures based on event tracing usually require large amounts of data (e.g., MOOCs and large courses), while aptitude measures are often qualitative and need careful interpretation. Precise and interpretable evaluation of self‐regulation skills in a normal K‐12 classroom thus poses a challenge. Objectives: The present study proposes and explores a learning analytics method of combining aptitude and event measures to evaluate student's self‐regulation skills. Methods: An explorative learning analytics study was conducted in a junior high school mathematics class (N=20 students), using a three‐lesson intervention with digital learning materials. Students first assessed their self‐regulation skills with a self‐report questionnaire, after which trace logs and observations of student behaviour were collected. Learning sessions were extracted from trace logs, clustered, and linked to learning strategies. Students were clustered by the self‐report results and learning behaviour profiles. Session clusters, student behaviour clusters and assignment grades were also tested for association. Results and Conclusions: The detected session and student behaviour types were linked to learning tactics and strategies found in prior studies. Additionally, association was found between self‐reported self‐regulation skills and the student behaviour obtained from trace logs. Implications: The results demonstrate the feasibility of concurrently using aptitude and event measures on a classroom scale, providing teachers with a tool to evaluate and support self‐regulated learning. Combined with further measures like predictive learning analytics, teachers can obtain an early and highly interpretable picture of at‐risk students in their classes. High‐dimensional metastable molecular dynamics (MD) can often be characterised by a few features of the system, that is, collective variables (CVs). Thanks to the rapid advance in the area of machine learning and deep learning, various deep learning‐based CV identification techniques have been developed in recent years, allowing accurate modelling and efficient simulation of complex molecular systems. In this paper, we look at two different categories of deep learning‐based approaches for finding CVs, either by computing leading eigenfunctions of transfer operator associated to the underlying dynamics, or by learning an autoencoder via minimisation of reconstruction error. Topological data analysis (TDA) allows us to explore the topological features of a dataset. Among topological features, lower dimensional ones have recently drawn the attention of practitioners in mathematics and statistics due to their potential to aid the discovery of low dimensional structure in a data set. However, lower dimensional features are usually challenging to detect based on finite samples and using TDA methods that ignore the probabilistic mechanism that generates the data. In this paper, lower dimensional topological features occurring as zero-density regions of density functions are introduced and thoroughly investigated. Specifically, we consider sequences of coverings for the support of a density function in which the coverings are comprised of balls with shrinking radii. We show that, when these coverings satisfy certain sufficient conditions as the sample size goes to infinity, we can detect lower dimensional, zero-density regions with increasingly higher probability while guarding against false detection. We supplement the theoretical developments with the discussion of simulated experiments that elucidate the behaviour of the methodology for different choices of the tuning parameters that govern the construction of the covering sequences and characterize the asymptotic results. This paper studies the higher differentials of the classical Adams spectral sequence at odd primes. Engaging high school students experiencing a mild to moderate Intellectual Disability (ID) in conversations about their math learning experiences can provide valuable insights for enhancing inclusive classroom teaching and learning. This paper reports on the pilot study of a broader research project that focuses on the voice of high school students experiencing ID in relation to their mathematics education. The study aims to analyse students’ experiences and perspectives on how they are taught mathematics based upon direct input from the students themselves.This research is significant because students experiencing ID have not been provided with the same opportunities to contribute to their learning as most other education stakeholders (parents, school leaders, teachers, and other student groups). This discrepancy is exemplified by the exclusion of students with ID from the descriptions of academic success in the NSW Curriculum Review (2020).The current research study addresses an important gap by acknowledging that students with ID have been underrepresented in the collection of student voices recognised in education. The study confirms that students with ID can actively participate in discussions about their learning experiences, offering unique and insightful recommendations for improving how mathematics is taught to them. In this paper, the abstract multiplier theorems for 0-sectorial and 0-strip type operators by Kriegler and Weis [Math. Z. 289 (2018), pp. 405–444] are refined and generalized to arbitrary sectorial and strip-type operators. To this end, holomorphic Hörmander-type functions on sectors and strips are introduced, with even a finer scale of smoothness than the classical polynomial scale. Moreover, we establish alternative descriptions of these spaces involving Schwartz and "holomorphic Schwartz" functions. Finally, the abstract results are combined with a result by Carbonaro and Dragičević [Duke Math. J. 166 (2017), pp. 937–974] to obtain an improvement—with respect to the smoothness condition—of the known Hörmander-type multiplier theorem for general symmetric contraction semigroups. In this short paper we tackle two subjects. First, we provide a lower bound for the first eigenvalue of the antiperiodic problem for a Hill's equation based on L p -conditions, and as a consequence, we introduce an adjusted statement of the main result about the asymptotic stability of periodic solutions for the general Duffing equation in (Torres in Mediterr. J. Math. 1(4):479–486, 2004) (Theorem 4). This appropriate version of the result arises because of one subtlety in the proof provided in (Torres in Mediterr. J. Math. 1(4):479–486, 2004). More precisely, the lower bound of the first antiperiodic eigenvalue associated with Hill's equations of potential a (t) employed there may be negative, thus the conclusion is not completely attained. Hence, the adjustments considered here provide a mathematically correct result. On the other hand, we apply this result to obtain a lateral asymptotic stable periodic oscillation in the Comb-drive finger MEMS model with a cubic nonlinear stiffness term and linear damping. The effects of spatial heterogeneity on the dynamics of reaction-diffusion models have been studied extensively. In particular, global dynamics of general spatially heterogeneous (but temporally static) Lotka–Volterra competition-diffusion systems were completely clarified by He and Ni in 2016. However, the evolutionary impacts of temporal periodicity combined with spatial heterogeneity in population ecology remain a challenging issue. In this work, we consider a population model of two competing species in a both spatially varying and temporally periodic environment, where the two species only differ in their random dispersal rates but are otherwise ecologically identical. In a pioneering 2001 work on this model by Hutson et al., by constructing various choices of resource functions and dispersal rates of the two species, the authors demonstrated that all the following three types of dynamics are possible: (i) stable coexistence of the two species; (ii) the slower diffuser invades the faster one but not vice versa; (iii) the faster diffuser invades the slower one but not vice versa. This is in drastic contrast with the spatially heterogeneous but temporally static case, where Dockery et al. showed in 1998 that the slower diffuser always wipes out the faster one. In this paper, we completely and explicitly characterize the asymptotic stability of both semitrivial periodic solutions in terms of the two dispersal rates and the resource function, when either dispersal rate is sufficiently small or large. In particular, the direction of selection on the dispersal rate during the evolution can be elucidated in these instances. Some novel analytical methods are developed to investigate asymptotic behaviors of the underlying time-periodic parabolic eigenvalue problem and its adjoint problem. In this paper, we prove a sharp local well-posedness result for spherically symmetric solutions to quasilinear wave equations with rough initial data, when the spatial dimension is three or higher. Our approach is based on Morawetz type local energy estimates with fractional regularity for linear wave equations with variable C¹ coefficients, which rely on the multiplier method, weighted Littlewood–Paley theory, duality and interpolation. Together with weighted linear and nonlinear estimates (including weighted trace estimates, Hardy’s inequality, a fractional chain rule and a fractional Leibniz rule) which are adapted to the problem, the well-posedness result is proved by iteration. In addition, our argument yields almost global existence for n = 3 and global existence for n ≥ 4 when the initial data are small and spherically symmetric with almost critical Sobolev regularity. In this paper we discuss the importance of the symbolization in mathematics through the analysis of four aspects we judge to be the most important ones. Our discussion will be centralized in some syntactical aspects of mathematics and the four aspects we are going to discuss are: i. precision and concision; ii. the possibility of extension to other problems; iii. heuristics; iv. structure revelation. Two Kähler manifolds are called relatives if they admit a common Kähler submanifold with the same induced metrics. In this paper, we show that a Hartogs domain over an irreducible bounded symmetric domain equipped with the Bergman metric is not a relative to the complex Euclidean space. This generalizes the results in Cheng and Hao [On the non-existence of common submanifolds of Kähler manifolds and complex space forms. Ann Glob Anal Geom. 2021;60(1):167–180] and Cheng X, Niu Y. In this paper, we construct time periodic doubly connected solutions for the threedimensional quasi-geostrophic model in the patch setting. More specifically, we prove the existence of nontrivial m-fold doubly connected rotating patches bifurcating from a generic doubly connected revolution shape domain with higher symmetry m > mo and mo large enough. The linearized matrix operator at the equilibrium state has variable and singular coefficients and its spectral analysis is performed via the approach devised in [C. Garcia, T. Hmidi, and J. Mateu, Comm. Math. Phys., 390 (2022), pp. 617--756], where a suitable symmetrization was introduced. In this paper, we investigate the relationship between sampling measure \mu, Berezin transform \tilde {\mu } and r-averaging transform \widehat {\mu }_r on Bergman spaces. Compared with some results of Luecking [Amer. J. Math. 107 (1985), pp. 85–111], our results provide an equivalent description of sampling measures, which reveals the reason why 1/\hat {\mu }_r\in L^\infty or 1/\tilde {\mu }\in L^\infty does not make sure that \mu is a sampling measure on Bergman spaces. This paper deals with unbounded solutions to a class of chemotaxis systems. In particular, for a rather general attraction–repulsion model, with nonlinear productions, diffusion, sensitivities, and logistic term, we detect Lebesgue spaces where given unbounded solutions also blow up in the corresponding norms of those spaces; subsequently, estimates for the blow‐up time are established. Finally, for a simplified version of the model, some blow‐up criteria are proved. Basic color terms used in Mandarin Chinese have been controversial since first discussed by Berlin and Kay in 1969. Previous studies showed much inconsistency on what should be considered as basic color terms in Mandarin Chinese. In the present study, we investigated categories of color rather than merely the color terms used by Taiwanese native Mandarin speakers. Using samples conforming to the Berlin and Kay survey, various colors were chosen from a collection of Natural Color System (NCS) colored papers and mounted on a piece of neutral gray card. The card was then mounted on a touch-screen, under D65 illumination. Thirty-two single-character color related Mandarin terms were selected from a Chinese character database according to frequency of use. Participants were required to select the color sample that matched the term by pressing a virtual button on the touch screen. The results show that certain terms can be directly correlated to basic color terms in English, comparable with the results of Berlin and Kay’s original study and those that followed. However, some terms, such as Mo (墨 ink), Tie (鐵 iron), and Cai (菜vegetable), show a wide spread of term maps and inconsistent use among subjects. Principle component analysis (PCA) procedures were used to analysis the commodity of data among subjects. The findings suggest that the basic color categories among Mandarin Chinese speakers are similar to those found in the World Color Survey (WCS), but are represented by wide-spread and inconsistent color terms among speakers. Purpose. As a scientific field, bioinformatics has drawn remarkable attention from various fields, such as information technology, mathematics, and modern biological sciences, in recent years. The topic models originating from the field of natural language processing have become the focus of attention with the rapid accumulation of biological datasets. Thus, this research is aimed at modeling the topic content of the bioinformatics literature presented by Iranian researchers in the Scopus Citation Database. Methodology. This research was a descriptive-exploratory study, and the studied population included 3899 papers indexed in the Scopus database, which had been indexed in this database until March 9, 2022. The topic modeling was then performed on the abstracts and titles of the papers. A combination of LDA and TF-IDF was utilized for topic modeling. Findings. The data analysis with topic modeling resulted in identifying seven main topics "Molecular Modeling," "Gene Expression," "Biomarker," "Coronavirus," "Immunoinformatics," "Cancer Bioinformatics," and "Systems Biology." Moreover, "Systems Biology" and "Coronavirus" had the largest and smallest clusters, respectively. Conclusion. The present investigation demonstrated an acceptable performance for the LDA algorithm in classifying the topics included in this field. The paper extends an earlier result of G.V. Kalachev et al. (Sb. Math. 210(8):1129–1147, 2019) on the existence of a maximizer of convolution operator acting between two Lebesgue spaces on R n with kernel from some L q , 1 < q < ∞ . On the other hand, E. Lieb (Ann. of Math. 118:(2):349–374, 1983) proved the existence of a maximizer for the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality and remarked that in general a convolution maximizer for a kernel from weak L q may not exist. In this paper we axiomatize some properties used in the proof of the Kalachev-Sadov 2019 theorem and obtain a more general result. As a consequence, we prove that the convolution maximizer always exists for kernels from a slightly more narrow class than weak L q , which contains all Lorentz spaces L q , s with q ≤ s < ∞ . Introduction: Bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA) is a crucial tool in forensic investigations, particularly in cases that involve violent crimes such as homicides, assaults, and sexual assaults. The analysis of bloodstains can provide valuable information about the location and movement of the victim and perpetrator(s), the type of weapon used, and the number and direction of the blows or shots. The lack of an objective mathematical foundation is a critical issue in a scenario where the quality of evidences can strongly affect a court trial and the life of people involved in that trial. Systematic reviews provide a rigorous and transparent method for evaluating scientific evidence, and can help to identify strengths and weaknesses of a given methodology.Methods: To ensure comprehensive retrieval of relevant research we will search the following key databases: PubMed and ScienceDirect through 1000 for peer reviewed articles (in all languages) evidence related to bloodstain pattern analysis.Discussions: This systematic review summarizes four papers that discuss different aspects of BPA. The first paper introduced the basic concepts of BPA and the use of trigonometric principles to determine the impact angle of bloodstains. The second paper presented experimental findings on the use of trigonometry in BPA and identified its limitations in determining the height of blood sprayed upwards. The third paper examined the analysis of circular bloodstains and found that their clusters can provide indirect information on impact-to-wall distance and area of origin. The fourth paper introduced the use of virtual models for BPA and found that straight-line trajectories can be used to estimate the area of origin with high accuracy.Conclusions: These papers highlight the complexity of BPA and the importance of using a combination of methods to interpret bloodstain patterns accurately. It is essential to consider the limitations of each method and to use them in combination to obtain a more complete picture of the events that occurred at a crime scene. Further research is needed to refine and improve the methods used in BPA and to develop new approaches to analyzing bloodstain patterns. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In an earlier paper I suggested that we can solve the Benacerraf Problem – the problem of explaining how mathematical knowledge is possible on the assumption that the objects of mathematics are abstract and immaterial – by positing efficient causal relations between those abstract objects and our brains. The burden of the paper was to remove the appearance that relations between abstracta and concreta, far from being actual, are inconceivable. This alleged inconceivability has been derived from some putative conditions on efficient causation: physical contact, energy transfer, reciprocal effects on the cause, and the idea that the cause must exist in time if its effects do. I argued that none of these conditions are a priori conditions on efficient causation, and thus do not pose an obstacle to the conceivability or metaphysical possibility of efficient causal relations between platonic objects and brains. This paper focuses on the importance of identifying students' Prior Knowledge (PK) for the teaching and learning of mathematics. Specifically, we present a framework that exemplifies the core elements teachers need to consider in relation to the purpose, design and implementation of learning experiences that enable PK to be activated and assessed. The following paper continues the previous part, and examines the influence of crystallography on Fröbel's conception of mathematics. In this part we focus on yet unpublished material. These unpublished notes of Fröbel underline the visual transfer of drawing and images of crystals, mainly developed by Haüy, which were widespread at the turn of the eighteenth to the nineteenth century, into the Fröbelian activities. Hence, the paper shows that a transfer of knowledge occurred from crystallography to mathematical education as well as the interweaving of philosophical and scientific reflections in Fröbel's thought as early as the late 1810s. Background: As one of the mainstream forms of programming education, educational robotics (ER) have been a crucial way to develop K‐12 students' programming ability. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to clarify the content of programming ability, to verify the effectiveness of ER as a teaching method to improve students' programming abilities and the conditions for more effective instructional design. Methods: The method of meta‐analysis was adopted to conduct this study. 4180 K‐12 students from 36 studies with a total of 85 effect sizes were captured. Based on the contents of included literature, an ER programming ability model was put forward, which was composed of essential ability and generative ability. The meta‐analysis of essential ability (N = 22) and generative ability (N = 64) was carried out respectively. Results and conclusion: The results showed that ER activity has a positive effect on the essential ability (Hedges' g = 0.539 CI [0.327, 0.752], p < 0.001) and generative ability (Hedges' g = 0.535 CI [0.426, 0.643], p < 0.001). Additionally, the results of moderator analysis showed that utilizing ER to solve mathematics problems is able to more effectively develop students' essential ability, while the STEM interdisciplinary ER instruction had the largest effect on generative ability. Simultaneously, the individual programming form is conducive to students' essential ability, while the generative ability is significantly affected by the cooperative programming form. No matter for the evaluation of essential ability or generative ability, ER had the greatest effect on kindergarten children' programming ability. Moreover, the intervention duration ranging from 1 to 5 weeks, the samples size less than 50 and the choice of measurement scale can effectively improve students' programming ability. Implications: This research enriched the theoretical basis of programming ability, and provided reference and guidance for K‐12 programming teaching practitioners and researchers in ER teaching design and practise. Integral inequalities with generalized convexity play an important role in both applied and theoretical mathematics. The theory of integral inequalities is currently one of the most rapidly developing areas of mathematics due to its wide range of applications. In this paper, we study the concept of higher-order strongly exponentially convex functions and establish a new Hermite–Hadamard inequality for the class of strongly exponentially convex functions of higher order. Further, we derive some new integral inequalities for Riemann–Liouville fractional integrals via higher-order strongly exponentially convex functions. These findings include several well-known results and newly obtained results as special cases. This study provides a systematic literature review of research in the field of teaching and learning mathematics through Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), Content-Based Instruction (CBI), and English Medium Instruction (EMI). The review aims to examine the most relevant literature with a focus on mathematics and CLIL, CBI, or EMI in Scopus and Web of Science per the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) guidelines. Based on 151 sources, 52 papers were selected according to predefined selection criteria. The papers were analysed and coded according to the following categories: (1) geographical productivity, (2) diachronic productivity growth, (3) main objectives, (4) methodology, and research design, (5) variables and measurement instruments, (6) context and sample details, and (7) main findings. The results reveal that most of the research analysed has been carried out in the Asian continent, followed by Europe. The analysis of diachronic productivity shows that the study of the application of CLIL, CBI, and EMI programs in the teaching-learning process of mathematics has notably increased in recent years, especially in the last triennium (2020–2022). Regarding the objectives of the selected corpus, the majority aimed at teaching practices and learning processes, and outcomes in mathematics and language proficiency in CLIL, CBI, and/or EMI classrooms. The corpus analysed fits within one or more of the following categories: empirical, qualitative, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional. The samples utilized in different studies differ significantly, both in terms of quantity –ranging from one person to 700– and in the educational level being studied, which would be primary, secondary, or tertiary education. The main variables studied in the corpus focus on mathematical competence, language proficiency, teaching practices, teacher training, science competence, and teachers' perceptions. The most widely used instruments have been objective tests, such as questionnaires, together with standardized tests to measure some aspects related to mathematical competence and language proficiency. They are followed by an analysis of documents (academic records, teaching materials, official documents...), participant or non-participant observation, interviews, and video and audio recordings. In summary, in the scientific literature analysed, a positive or neutral view predominates on the effects of the CLIL, CBI, and EMI approaches on the learning of mathematics and the L2. This can be due to methodological issues fundamentally related to the methodology, research design, sample, and measurement instruments. Thus, we must highlight that some of the results from the selected papers must be interpreted with caution. Taking this factor into consideration, further comparative studies on a wider scale are required to examine thoroughly the effects of CLIL, CBI, and EMI on the teaching and learning of mathematics in an L2. Besides, it is important to study in greater depth the different levels of language acquisition since the research analysed shows that these have not been sufficiently addressed in the mathematical field of knowledge. In this paper we examine four different models for the realization space of a polytope: the classical model, the Grassmannian model, the Gale transform model, and the slack variety. Respectively, they identify realizations of the polytopes with the matrix whose columns are the coordinates of their vertices, the column space of said matrix, their Gale transforms, and their slack matrices. Each model has been used to study realizations of polytopes. In this paper we establish very explicitly the maps that allow us to move between models, study their precise relationships, and combine the strengths of different viewpoints. As an illustration, we combine the compact nature of the Grassmannian model with the slack variety to obtain a reduced slack model that allows us to perform slack ideal calculations that were previously out of computational reach. These calculations allow us to answer the question of Criado and Santos (Exp. Math. (2019). https://doi.org/10.1080/10586458.2019.1641766), about the realizability of a family of prismatoids, in general in the negative by proving the non-realizability of one of them. With the rapid development of modern technologies, autonomous or robotic construction sites are becoming a new reality in civil engineering. Despite various potential benefits of the automation of construction sites, there is still a lack of understanding of their complex nature combining physical and cyber components in one system. A typical approach to describing complex system structures is to use tools of abstract mathematics, which provide a high level of abstraction, allowing a formal description of the entire system while omitting non-essential details. Therefore, in this paper, autonomous construction is formalised using categorical ontology logs enhanced by abstract definitions of individual components of an autonomous construction system. In this context, followed by a brief introduction to category theory and ologs, exemplary algebraic definitions are given as a basis for the olog-based conceptual modelling of autonomous construction systems. As a result, any automated construction system can be described without providing exhausting detailed definitions of the system components. Existing ologs can be extended, contracted or revised to fit the given system or situation. To illustrate the descriptive capacity of ologs, a lattice of representations is presented. The main advantage of using the conceptual modelling approach presented in this paper is that any given real-world or engineering problem could be modelled with a mathematically sound background. In this paper, a joint study of the behavior of solutions of the Heavy Ball ODE and Heavy Ball type algorithms is given. Since the pioneering work of Polyak (USSR Comput Math Math Phys 4(5):1–17, 1964), it is well known that such a scheme is very efficient for C 2 strongly convex functions with Lipschitz gradient. But much less is known when only growth conditions are considered. Depending on the geometry of the function to minimize, convergence rates for convex functions, with some additional regularity such as quasi-strong convexity, or strong convexity, were recently obtained in Aujol et al. (Convergence rates of the Heavy-Ball method for quasi-strongly convex optimization, 2020). Convergence results with much weaker assumptions are given in the present paper: namely, linear convergence rates when assuming a growth condition (which amounts to a Łojasiewicz property in the convex case). This analysis is firstly performed in continuous time for the ODE, and then transposed for discrete optimization schemes. In particular, a variant of the Heavy Ball algorithm is proposed, which converges geometrically whatever the parameters choice, and which has the best state of the art convergence rate for first order methods to minimize composite non smooth convex functions satisfying a Łojasiewicz property.
