Purpose: To determine older adults' metaphorical perceptions of the concept of aging. Method: Participants in this qualitative study comprised 57 older adults as determined using convenience and criterion sampling methods. Data were obtained using a personal data form and the metaphor form and analyzed with descriptive and content analysis techniques. Results: Fifty-seven metaphors were identified within three themes: 24 within Mental Aspect, 18 within Physical Aspect, and 15 within Psychosocial Aspect. Conclusion: The fact that most metaphors appeared within the Mental Aspect theme was interpreted as an indication that participants felt the effects of aging more in the mental dimension. Results of the research show that aging is perceived as experience and accumulation mentally, as inadequacy physically, and as the end or loneliness psychosocially. Objective: In this study, we assessed the functional and biopsychosocial characteristics of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) patients according to disease subtypes. Materials and Methods: Child Health Assessment Questionnaire (CHAQ), Juvenile Arthritis Disease Activity Score-71 (JADAS-71), and Juvenile Arthritis Biopsychosocial Questionnaire (JAB-Q) scales were administered to 304 JIA patients, and the subscale of JAB-Q was administered to their families. Results: The median age of JIA patients at diagnosis was 7.9 (5.5-13) years (female/male = 1.3). Most patients were under treatment (68.7%) and had inactive disease (69.3%). While there was no significant difference between JADAS-71 scores according to the JIA subtypes, total CHAQ scores in polyarticular JIA patients were higher than in systemic JIA patients (P = .005). Enthesitis-related arthritis (ERA) patients had higher JAB-Q fatigue total scores compared to systemic JJIA patients (P = .001). Juvenile Arthritis Biopsychosocial Questionnaire—child psychosocial status scores were higher in polyarticular JIA patients than oligoarticular and systemic JIA patients (P = .004 and P = .003, respectively), and they had higher JAB-Q child form total scores than systemic JIA patients (P = .006). In addition, systemic JIA patients’ parents had higher JAB-Q family total scores compared to oligoarticular JIA patients’ parents (P = .03). Conclusion: Our results suggest that polyarticular JIA patients had higher CHAQ, JAB-Q psychosocial status, and child form total scores, and the JAB-Q fatigue score was higher in ERA patients. The study aimed to adapt and validate the COVID-19 Traumatic Stress Scale in Turkish. The scale consisted of three dimensions: "threat/fear of infection and death," "economic hardship," and "disturbed routines/isolation." The Turkish version (COVID-19 Traumatic Scale-TR) was tested on a convenience sample of 432 online participants. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the three dimensions of the COVID-19 Traumatic Stress Scale, but with item 9 removed, resulting in an 11-item scale. Cronbach's α score for the 11-item scale was 0.85. The scale may be important to test the impact of COVID-19 on different psychosocial domains, including economic impact and isolation, in Turkey. The aim of the current study was to investigate the ratio and predictors of probable Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) among bereaved survivors eight years after the 2011 Van earthquake. Among a sample of 495 survivors who experienced loss as a result of this earthquake, 8.9% met the criteria of probable PGD. In the binary logistic regression analysis, being woman, being aged 40 or over, personal injury, property damage, losing family members, and the psychological impact of the earthquake predicted probable PGD. The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of coping with stress and psychological resilience in the relationship between happiness and perceived stress of COVID-19 fear in Turkish adults. 827 individuals (516 females, 311 males) above 18 years of age and living in Turkey participated in this research. The data of the research was collected through the COVID-19 Fear Scale, Depression-Happiness Scale Short Form, Perceived Stress Scale and Psychological Resilience Scale Short Form. The results show that fear of COVID-19 negatively predicts happiness and positively predicts perceived stress. According to the results, psychological resilience and coping with perceived stress mediate the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and happiness and stress. Moreover, psychological resilience and coping with perceived stress mitigate the impact of COVID-19 fear on happiness and stress. The findings provide evidence as to how to reduce the negative impact of COVID-19 on mental health. In addition, the results provide information to improve mental health during the pandemic period. Psychological resilience reduces the effect of COVID-19 on stress and increases happiness levels. This study aimed to examine the life events, emotional health and post-illness awareness of COVID-19 patients. We interviewed 25 people who experienced COVID-19. The study was executed in qualitative descriptive design. The study was conducted with a phenomenological design approach. Data were collected using an in-depth, semi-structured interview method. We interviewed 25 people who experienced COVID-19. Three themes were identified in the content analysis: "Experiences before COVID-19," "The active experience of COVID-19," "Remnants of COVID-19." We found that when participants first heard they tested positive for COVID-19, the anxiety they experienced turned into panic and fear of death as the duration and severity of the symptoms of the disease increased. That uncertainty, as well as the influence of the media, intensified their fears. However, despite the unfavorable conditions, experiencing the disease led to positive awareness in all the participants. We observed that the intensity of the symptoms of COVID-19, the uncertainty of the treatment process, and the attitude of the media were important factors in producing fear and anxiety. Experiencing the illness created an awareness that resulted in the participants' questioning the meaning of life. Within the scope of preventive health services, there is a need for informative programs of education on COVID-19 prevention, coping, and self-improvement that will be useful in reducing the psychological effects of the disease. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the psychiatric symptoms and the effective factors in individuals in Turkey during COVID‐19 outbreak. Design and Methods: The descriptive study was conducted on individuals aged 18 and older living in Turkey. The questionnaire was prepared in Google form, and individuals were invited electronically. Findings: The pandemic has affected the mental health of society adversely. Anxiety, depression, negative self, hostility, and somatization levels are higher in women, individuals under the age of 40, and those without children.
