Objective: Femtosecond laser (fs-laser) is a novel tooth preparation tool but its ablation efficiency is insufficient. The purpose is to establish a new fs-laser tooth ablation method based on a dual-wedges path ablation system, and explore the efficiency of tooth hard tissue and dental restorative materials ablation. Materials and methods: Extracted third molars, pure titanium, cobalt-chromium alloy, gold alloy, and 3Yzirconia were prepared into samples. These samples were rotary ablated by an fs-laser with dual-wedges. The wavelength was 1030 nm and the pulse duration was 250 fsec. Laser parameters were set as a repetition frequency of 25 kHz, the power percentages as 50% for dental tissues, and 60% for restorative materials. The optical wedge angle was set as 0°, 20°, 40°, 60°, and 80° for restorative materials, 0°, 20°, 30°, 40°, and 60° for enamel, and 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, and 40°for dentin. Three times of ablation was processed at each parameter to obtain total 90 ablation microcavities of 6 kinds of materials. The diameter, depth, and volume of microcavities were measured by confocal laser microscopy and plotted against optical-wedge-angle in curves of different materials. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test whether the ablation efficiency between different angles was statistically significant. Results: The ablation efficiency of each material at different optical-wedge-angle was statistically significant (p < 0.05) and tends to be correlated. For dental hard tissue, the enamel ablation efficiency was 208.1 times and dentin ablation efficiency were 65.2 times than before when the wedge angle was 40°. For pure titanium, zirconia, cobalt-chromium, and gold alloys, the ablation efficiencies were 3.1, 10.7, 81.5, and 128.8 times than before when the rotation angle was 80°. Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is one of the most common tumor-predisposing genetic disorders. Neurofibromas are NF1- associated benign tumors. A hallmark feature of neurofibromas is an abundant collagen-rich extracellular matrix (ECM) that constitutes more than 50% of the tumor dry weight. However, little is known about the mechanism underlying ECM deposition during neurofibroma development and treatment response. We performed a systematic investigation of ECM enrichment during plexiform neurofibroma (pNF) development and identified basement membrane (BM) proteins, rather than major collagen isoforms, as the most upregulated ECM component. Following MEK inhibitor treatment, the ECM profile displayed an overall downregulation signature, suggesting ECM reduction as a therapeutic benefit of MEK inhibition. Through these proteomic studies, TGF-β1 signaling was identified as playing a role in ECM dynamics. Indeed, TGF-β1 overexpression promoted pNF progression in vivo. Furthermore, by integrating single-cell RNA sequencing, we found that immune cells including macrophages and T cells produce TGF-β1 to induce Schwann cells to produce and deposit BM proteins for ECM remodeling. Following Nf1 loss, neoplastic Schwann cells further increased BM protein deposition in response to TGF-β1. To solve the problems of rock strength increase caused by high in-situ stress, the stress release method with rock slot in the bottom hole by an ultra-high-pressure water jet is proposed. The stress conditions of bottom hole rock, before and after slotting are analyzed and the stress release mechanism of slotting is clarified. The results show that the stress release by slotting is due to the coupling of three factors: the relief of horizontal stress, the stress concentration zone distancing away from the cutting face, and the increase of pore pressure caused by rock mass expansion; The stress concentration increases the effective stress of rock along the radial distance from 0.6R to 1R (R is the radius of the well), and the presence of groove completely releases the stress, it also allows the stress concentration zone to be pushed away from the cutting face, while significantly lowering the value of stresses in the area the drilling bit acting, the maximum stress release efficiency can reach 80%. The effect of slotting characteristics on release efficiency is obvious when the groove location is near the borehole wall. With the increase of groove depth, the stress release efficiency is significantly increased, and the release range of effective stress is enlarged along the axial direction. Therefore, the stress release method and results of simulations in this paper have a guiding significance for best-improving rock-breaking efficiency and further understanding the technique. Both South Asia and East Asia are the most polluted regions of the world. Unlike East Asia, the aerosol optical depth (AOD) over South Asia keeps increasing for all recent years, which calls for more attention. This study investigates the impacts of anthropogenic emissions over South Asia on the downstream regional climate during spring with the Community Earth System Model 2 (CESM2). The model results suggest that South Asian pollutants have significant impacts on East Asian spring climate, and the impacts could be even larger than locally emitted aerosols. Two possible dynamical pathways (i.e., the northern and the southern pathways) bridging South Asian aerosol forcing and East Asian climate are proposed, and both ways are associated with the black carbon (BC)-induced climate feedbacks surrounding the Tibetan Plateau (TP). The northern pathway is mainly due to the TP warming induced by the BC snow darkening effect (SDE), which significantly reduces the surface air temperature (SAT) over northern East Asia. BC-induced TP warming increases the meridional thermal gradient and accelerates the midlatitude jet stream, which favors the cold-air advection over northern East Asia. The southern pathway is associated with the BC "elevated heat pump" hypothesis, which mainly affects the precipitation in southern East Asia. BC from South Asia accumulates near the south slope of TP, inducing an abnormal ascending motion near the Bay of Bengal. A compensating anomalous sinking motion is then forced in South China, which suppresses the precipitation there. A primary observational analysis is also performed to verify both dynamical pathways. Objective(s): Existing Brucella vaccines are attenuated and can cause vaccine-associated brucellosis; and these safety concerns have affected their application. Although subunit vaccines have the advantages of safety, efficacy, low cost, and rapid production, they are usually poorly immunogenic and insufficient to trigger persistent immunity. Therefore, we added layered double hydroxide (LDH) as an adjuvant to Brucella subunit vaccine formulations to enhance the immune response to the antigen. Materials and Methods: LDH and Freund’s adjuvant were combined with Brucella outer-membrane vesicles (OMVs) and OMV-associated proteins to form a subunit vaccine, respectively. The immunogenicity of LDH as an adjuvant was assessed in BALB/c mice. We examined levels of immunoglobulin G, G1, and G2a (IgG, IgG1, and IgG2a) antibodies (aBs); percentages of Cluster of Differentiation 4-positive (CD4+) and CD8+ T cells in peripheral-blood lymphocytes; and secretion of cytokines in mouse spleen lymphocytes. Finally, splenic index and splenic bacterial load were assessed via Brucella challenge experiments on mice. Results: The LDH subunit vaccine also produced high levels of specific aBs in mice compared with Freund’s adjuvant subunit vaccine and induced mainly T-helper 1 cell (Th 1)-type immune responses. In addition, mice in the LDH subunit vaccine group had significantly lower bacterial loads in their spleens than those in the Freund’s adjuvant subunit vaccine group, and the LDH-OMV vaccine offered a higher level of protection against Brucella attack. Hosts defend against parasites through two main strategies: resistance and tolerance. These two strategies have different influences on the parasite load of the host and so have variable effects on the fitness of parasites. In this study, we investigated the strategy used by the Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) to defend against a hematophagous mite (Dermanyssus hirundinis) in East Asia. For the first time, we found Barn Swallows were parasitized by D. hirundinis in Asia and, in northeastern China, over 60% of broods were parasitized. We examined whether swallows with better body condition or the males with more extravagant sexually selected traits (longer tail streamers or redder ventral plumage) showed stronger resistance or tolerance to these parasites. The results showed that males with more extravagant sexual ornaments had weaker resistance (heavier brood mite load) than males with less extravagant traits; however, the heavier mite load was likely to be a byproduct of larger brood size. Moreover, the Barn Swallow population showed strong tolerance against the parasite (i.e. the brood mite load did not affect brood size or nestling body mass). It is worth noting that male swallows with redder breast plumage showed weaker tolerance (lower seasonal reproductive success) than other males. Further, we conducted experimental ectoparasite manipulations in 46 Barn Swallow nests to verify the potential effect of these parasites on the body condition of nestlings. Neither the body mass nor the hemoglobin concentration differed between the designed groups; however, the hemoglobin concentration of nestlings decreased with mite load. We concluded that the Barn Swallow population in East Asia used the tolerance strategy, rather than resistance to defend against nest mites, and the ectoparasitic mite did not appear to be a strong selective factor for reproductive success owing to the strong tolerance of the studied Barn Swallow population. Cabbage has significant heterosis and most commercial cultivars are hybrids. To explore genetic basis of cabbage heterosis and promote cabbage heterosis utilization, we constructed two populations by crossing 100 DH lines derived from a cabbage hybrid 01-20 ×96-100 with two female parents. Hybrids exhibited different extents of heterosis, the mean value of economic yield was 2.6 times bigger than parents. We identified 66 and 73 QTLs associated with mid-parent heterosis and transgressive heterosis of twelve yield-related traits, respectively. Some QTLs could be detected under the two-year experiment existed in two populations with different testers, showing relatively high phenotypic contribution rate (15.8%-20.0%). Heterosis QTLs exhibited clustered distribution in several cabbage chromosome regions. Two dominant genetic regions, mk300-316 and mk258-268, originated from the elite parent 01-20, exhibited significant genetic effects for yield-related heterosis, which were first identified. Three elite DH lines (D22, D46, D83) harboring these two dominant regions were selected as having strong heterosis in cabbage production. Candidate gene analysis revealed that some genes participating in biosynthetic processes of carbohydrates and some responses to auxin might affect cabbage yield heterosis. Background: The procession of preadipocytes differentiation into mature adipocytes involves multiple cellular and signal transduction pathways. Recently. a seirces of noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), including circular RNAs (circRNAs) were proved to play important roles in regulating differentiation of adipocytes. Result: In this study, we aimed to identificate the potential circRNAs in the early and late stages of goat intramuscular adipocytes differentiation. Using bioinformatics methods to predict their biological functions and map the circRNA-miRNA interaction network. Over 104 million clean reads in goat intramuscular preadipocytes and adipocytes were mapped, of which16 circRNAs were differentially expressed (DE-circRNAs). Furthermore, we used real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) technology to randomly detect the expression levels of 8 circRNAs among the DE-circRNAs, and our result verifies the accuracy of the RNA-seq data. From the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis of the DE-circRNAs, two circRNAs, circ_0005870 and circ_0000946, were found in Focal adhesion and PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. Then we draw the circRNA-miRNA interaction network and obtained the miRNAs that possibly interact with circ_0005870 and circ_0000946. Using TargetScan, miRTarBase and miR-TCDS online databases, we further obtained the mRNAs that may interact with the miRNAs, and generated the final circRNA-miRNA-mRNA interaction network. Combined with the following GO (Gene Ontology) and KEGG enrichment analysis, we obtained 5 key mRNAs related to adipocyte differentiation in our interaction network, which are FOXO3(forkhead box O3), PPP2CA (protein phosphatase 2 catalytic subunit alpha), EEIF4E (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4), CDK6 (cyclin dependent kinase 6) and ACVR1 (activin A receptor type 1). Conclusions: By using Illumina HiSeq and online databases, we generated the final circRNA-miRNA-mRNA interaction network that have valuable functions in adipocyte differentiation. Systems genetics holds the promise to decipher complex traits by interpreting their associated SNPs through gene regulatory networks derived from comprehensive multi-omics data of cell types, tissues, and organs. Here, we propose SpecVar to integrate paired chromatin accessibility and gene expression data into context-specific regulatory network atlas and regulatory categories, conduct heritability enrichment analysis with genome-wide association studies (GWAS) summary statistics, identify relevant tissues, and estimate relevance correlation to depict common genetic factors acting in the shared regulatory networks between traits. Our method improves power upon existing approaches by associating SNPs with context-specific regulatory elements to assess heritability enrichments and by explicitly prioritizing gene regulations underlying relevant tissues. Ablation studies, independent data validation, and comparison experiments with existing methods on GWAS of six phenotypes show that SpecVar can improve heritability enrichment, accurately detect relevant tissues, and reveal causal regulations. Furthermore, SpecVar correlates the relevance patterns for pairs of phenotypes and better reveals shared SNP-associated regulations of phenotypes than existing methods. Studying GWAS of 206 phenotypes in UK Biobank demonstrates that SpecVar leverages the context-specific regulatory network atlas to prioritize phenotypes' relevant tissues and shared heritability for biological and therapeutic insights. High entropy alloys (HEAs), consisting of five or more elements with nearly equal atomic composition with one another (5–35%), are new-generation alloys that have attracted signifi)cant interest since their advent in 2004 because of their unique structural and mechanical properties and thermodynamic and chemical stability. Some characteristics, including high mechanical strength at elevated temperatures, high ductility and fracture toughness at cryo)genic temperatures and high corrosion, erosion and wear resistance, have been demonstrated for HEAs that outperform traditional alloys and superalloys. Laser-cladding (LC) is an additive manufacturing technique that has good feasibility in designing and processing HEAs for advanced structural components and protective coatings. This overview provides a glimpse of recent advances in LC of HEAs in terms of design fundamentals, metallurgical phase and microstructure, specific properties for advanced coating applications and the effect of ceramic particles reinforcement in LC deposition of HEA coatings. Electronic devices composed of semiconducting two-dimensional (2D) materials and ultrathin 2D metallic electrode materials, accompanying synergistic interactions and extraordinary properties, are becoming highly promising for future flexible and transparent electronic and optoelectronic device applications. Unlike devices with bulk metal electrode and 2D channel materials, devices with ultrathin 2D electrode and 2D channel are susceptible to chemical reactions in both channel and electrode surface due to the high surface to volume ratio of the 2D structures. However, so far, the effect of doping was primary concerned on the channel component, and there is lack of understanding in terms of how to modulate electrical properties of devices by engineering electrical properties of both the metallic electrode and the semiconducting channel. Here, we propose the novel, one-pot doping of the field-effect transistor (FET) based on 2D molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) channel and ultrathin copper sulfide (CuS) electrodes under mild iodine gas environment at room temperature, which simultaneously modulates electrical properties of the 2D MoS2 channel and 2D CuS electrode in a facile and cost-effective way. After one-pot iodine doping, effective p-type doping of the channel and electrode was observed, which was shown through decreased off current level, improved I on/ I off ratio and subthreshold swing value. Our results open up possibility for effectively and conveniently modulating electrical properties of FETs made of various 2D semiconductors and ultrathin contact materials without causing any detrimental damage. Seneca Valley virus (SVV), a new pathogen resulting in porcine vesicular disease, is prevalent in pig herds worldwide. Although an understanding of SVV biology pathogenesis is crucial for preventing and controlling this disease, the molecular mechanisms for the entry and post-internalization of SVV, which represent crucial steps in viral infection, are not well characterized. In this study, specific inhibitors, Western blotting, and immunofluorescence detection revealed that SVV entry into PK-15 cells depends on low-pH conditions and dynamin. Furthermore, results showed that caveolae-mediated endocytosis (CavME) contributes crucially to the internalization of SVV, as evidenced by cholesterol depletion, downregulation of caveolin-1 expression by small interfering RNA knockdown, and overexpression of a caveolin-1 dominant negative (caveolin-1-DN) in SVV-infected PK-15 cells. However, SVV entry into PK-15 cells did not depend on clathrin-mediated endocytosis (CME). Furthermore, treatment with specific inhibitors demonstrated that SVV entry into PK-15 cells via macropinocytosis depended on the Na1/H1 exchanger (NHE), p21-activated kinase 1 (Pak1), and actin rearrangement, but not phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K). Electron microscopy showed that SVV particles or proteins were localized in CavME and macropinocytosis. Finally, knockdown of GTPase Rab5 and Rab7 by siRNA significantly inhibited SVV replication, as determined by measuring viral genome copy numbers, viral protein expression, and viral titers. In this study, our results demonstrated that SVV utilizes caveolae-mediated endocytosis and macropinocytosis to enter PK-15 cells, dependent on low pH, dynamin, Rab5, and Rab7. Context: Lily bulb and Rehmannia decoction (LBRD), consisting of Lilium henryi Baker (Liliaceae) and Rehmannia glutinosa (Gaertn) DC (Plantaginaceae), is a specialized traditional Chinese medicine formula for treating depression. However, the underlying mechanisms, especially the relationship between LBRD efficacy and metabolomics, remains unclear. Objective: This study was aimed to investigate the metabolic mechanism of LBRD in treating depression. Materials and methods: Network pharmacology was conducted using SwissTargetPrediction, DisGeNET, DrugBank, Metascape, etc., to construct component-target-pathway networks. The depression-like model was induced by intraperitoneal injection with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (0.3 mg/kg) for 14 consecutive days. After the administration of LBRD (90 g/kg) and fluoxetine (2 mg/kg) for 14 days, we assessed behaviour and the levels of neurotransmitter, inflammatory cytokine and circulating stress hormone. Prefrontal metabolites of rats were detected by using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry metabolomics method. Results: The results of network pharmacology showed that LBRD mainly acted on neurotransmitter and second messenger pathways. Compared to the model group, LBRD significantly ameliorated depressive phenotypes and increased the level of 5-HT (13.4%) and GABA (24.8%), as well as decreased IL-1β (30.7%), IL-6 (32.8%) and TNF-α (26.6%). Followed by LBRD treatment, the main metabolites in prefrontal tissue were contributed to retrograde endocannabinoid signalling, glycerophospholipid metabolism, glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchor biosynthesis, autophagy signal pathway, etc. Discussion and conclusions: LBRD were effective at increasing neurotransmitter, attenuating proinflammatory cytokine and regulating glycerophospholipid metabolism and glutamatergic synapse, thereby ameliorating depressive phenotypes. BACKGROUND: Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games was the second Games held amid the COVID-19 pandemic. To a certain extent, it has altered the way sporting activities operate. There is a lack of knowledge on injury risk and illness occurrence in elite winter sport athletes amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to describe the incidence of injuries and illnesses sustained during the XXIV Olympic Winter Games in Beijing from February 4 to 20, 2022. METHODS: We recorded the daily number of injuries and illnesses among athletes reported by Beijing 2022 medical staff in the polyclinic, medical venues, and ambulance. We calculated injury and illness incidence as the number of injuries or illnesses occurring during competition or training, respectively, with incidence presented as injuries/illnesses per 100 athlete-days. RESULTS: In total, 2,897 athletes from 91 nations experienced injury or illness. Beijing 2022 medical staff reported 326 injuries and 80 illnesses, equaling 11.3 injuries and 2.8 illnesses per 100 athletes over the 17-day period. Altogether, 11% of the athletes incurred at least one injury and nearly 3% incurred at least one illness. The number of injured athletes was highest in the skating sports (n=104), followed by alpine skiing (n=53), ice track (n=37), freestyle skiing (n=36), and ice hockey (n=35), and was the lowest in the Nordic skiing disciplines (n=20). Of the 326 injuries, 14 (4.3%) led to an estimated absence from training or competition of more than 1 week. A total of 52 injured athletes were transferred to hospitals for further care. The number of athletes with illness (n=80) was the highest for skating (n=33) and Nordic skiing (n=22). A total of 50 illnesses (62.5%) were admitted to the department of dentistry/ophthalmology/otolaryngology, and the most common cause of illness was other causes, including preexisting illness and medicine (n=52, 65%). CONCLUSION: Overall, 11% of athletes incurred at least one injury during the Games, which is similar to the findings during the Olympic Winter Games in 2014 and 2018. A novel simplified numerical simulation method for bleed holes in supersonic inlets was developed to estimate the bleed mass flow rate and simulate the flowfield structure in the bleed region. First, the Prandtl-Meyer expansion theory was employed to calculate the location of the barrier shock and reconstruct the flow structure inside the bleed hole. Next, a novel discrimination algorithm was developed to distinguish the grids connected to the bleed hole in the bleed zone instead of directly modeling the hole opening and plenum chamber. Finally, the bleed mass flow rate was obtained based on the boundary-layer properties in the bleed region and the fitting scaled coefficients. This method was also evaluated by performing numerical simulations for a series of different bleeding situations. For all the examined cases, the simulation results were in good agreement with the experimental data, and the number of grid points' requirement for modeling the bleed hole as compared with the fully resolved method was considerably reduced. Moreover, the proposed method was successfully applied to simulate porous bleed systems in a mixed-compression supersonic inlet. Cuticular waxes cover the aerial surfaces of land plants and protect them from various environmental stresses. Alkanes are major wax components and contribute to plant drought tolerance, but the biosynthesis and regulation of alkanes remain largely unknown in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Here, we identified and functionally characterized a key alkane biosynthesis gene ECERIFERUM1-6A (TaCER1-6A) from wheat. The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9)-mediated knockout mutation in TaCER1-6A greatly reduced the contents of C27, C29, C31, and C33 alkanes in wheat leaves, while TaCER1-6A overexpression significantly increased the contents of these alkanes in wheat leaves, suggesting that TaCER1-6A is specifically involved in the biosynthesis of C27, C29, C31, and C33 alkanes on wheat leaf surfaces. TaCER1-6A knockout lines exhibited increased cuticle permeability and reduced drought tolerance, whereas TaCER1-6A overexpression lines displayed reduced cuticle permeability and enhanced drought tolerance. TaCER1-6A was highly expressed in flag leaf blades and seedling leaf blades and could respond to abiotic stresses and abscisic acid. TaCER1-6A was located in the endoplasmic reticulum, which is the subcellular compartment responsible for wax biosynthesis. A total of three haplotypes (HapI/II/III) of TaCER1-6A were identified in 43 wheat accessions, and HapI was the dominant haplotype (95%) in these wheat varieties. Additionally, we identified two R2R3-MYB transcription factors TaMYB96-2D and TaMYB96-5D that bound directly to the conserved motif CAACCA in promoters of the cuticular wax biosynthesis genes TaCER1-6A, TaCER1-1A, and fatty acyl-CoA reductase4. As the most abundant and bioactive constituent in vine tea (Ampelopsis grossedentata), dihydromyricetin possesses numerous biological activities. A rapid profiling and identification method for dihydromyricetin metabolites in rats after the oral administration has been established using ultra‐high‐performance liquid chromatography‐Q‐Exactive Orbitrap mass spectrometry coupled with multiple data‐mining methods. Herein, an efficient analytical strategy characterized by a parallel reaction monitoring mode combining diagnostic fragment ions filtering techniques was developed for the comprehensive identification of dihydromyricetin metabolites in rat plasma, urine, and feces. And then, the biotransformation pathways of dihydromyricetin were further revealed. As a result, a total of 49 metabolites were finally identified by comparing diagnostic fragment ions, chromatographic retention times, neutral loss fragment ions, and accurate mass measurement with those of the dihydromyricetin reference standard. These metabolites were presumed to be dominantly generated through hydroxylation, dehydroxylation, methylation, reduction, sulfation, decarbonylation, glucuronidation, glucosylation, and their composite reactions. In a word, our present results not only supplied a solid foundation to better understand the action mechanism of dihydromyricetin, but also provided some models for the metabolism study of the other compounds in traditional Chinese medicines or natural plants. Five ascomycetous strains were isolated from dead branches and leaves of Salix (Salicaceae) and Osmanthus fragrans (Oleaceae), respectively. BLAST searches with ITS sequences in GenBank suggested a high degree of similarity to Botryosphaeria dothidea. To accurately identify these strains, we further analysed their morphological characteristics of asci, ascospores, all conidiophore cells and conidia. Phylogenetic relationships, based on ITS, rpb2, tef1 and tub2 gene sequences, confirmed our strains represented two novel species, which are introduced here as B. salicicola and B. osmanthuse spp. nov. In this study, four new species of Phragmidium were proposed based on morphological and molecular characters. In morphology, Phragmidium rosae-roxburghii sp. nov. was distinguished to related taxa by its unique square to diamond-shaped urediniospores; Ph. rubi-coreani sp. nov. differed from Ph. barclayi and Ph. cibanum because of teliospores with fewer cells and shorter pedicels; urediniospores of Ph. potentillaefreynianae sp. nov. were bigger than Ph. duchesneae-indica; and Ph. rosae-laevigatae sp. nov. produced bigger urediniospores than Ph. jiangxiense. This initiative examined systematically the extent to which a large set of archival research findings generalizes across contexts. We repeated the key analyses for 29 original strategic management effects in the same context (direct reproduction) as well as in 52 novel time periods and geographies; 45% of the reproductions returned results matching the original reports together with 55% of tests in different spans of years and 40% of tests in novel geographies. Some original findings were associated with multiple new tests. Reproducibility was the best predictor of generalizability—for the findings that proved directly reproducible, 84% emerged in other available time periods and 57% emerged in other geographies. Overall, only limited empirical evidence emerged for context sensitivity. Lithium-ion battery (LIB) is a broadly adopted technology for energy storage. With increasing demands to improve the rate capability, cyclability, energy density, safety, and cost efficiency, it is crucial to establish an in-depth understanding of the detailed structural evolution and cell-degradation mechanisms during battery operation. Here, we present a laboratory-based high-resolution and high-throughput X-ray micro-computed laminography approach, which is capable of in situ visualizing of an industry-relevant lithium-ion (Li-ion) pouch cell with superior detection fidelity, resolution, and reliability. This technique enables imaging of the pouch cell at a spatial resolution of 0.5 µm in a laboratory system and permits the identification of submicron features within cathode and anode electrodes. We also demonstrate direct visualization of the lithium plating in the imaged pouch cell, which is an important phenomenon relevant to battery fast charging and low-temperature cycling. Our development presents an avenue toward a thorough understanding of the correlation among multiscale structures, chemomechanical degradation, and electrochemical behavior of industry-scale battery pouch cells. Effective tissue repair after myocardial infarction entails a vigorous angiogenic response, guided by incompletely defined immune cell-endothelial cell interactions. We identify the monocyte- and macrophage-derived cytokine METRNL (meteorin-like) as a driver of postinfarction angiogenesis and high-affinity ligand for the stem cell factor receptor KIT (KIT receptor tyrosine kinase). METRNL mediated angiogenic effects in cultured human endothelial cells through KIT-dependent signaling pathways. In a mouse model of myocardial infarction, METRNL promoted infarct repair by selectively expanding the KIT-expressing endothelial cell population in the infarct border zone. Metrnl-deficient mice failed to mount this KIT-dependent angiogenic response and developed severe postinfarction heart failure. The insufficient supply of sugar units is the key limitation for the biosynthesis of glycosylated products. The unusual sugar TDP-L-mycarose is initially attached to the C3 of the polyketide erythronolide B, resulting in 3-O-a-mycarosylerythronolide B (MEB). Here, we present the de novo biosynthesis of MEB in Escherichia coli and improve its production using multi-strategy metabolic engineering. Firstly, by blocking precursor glucose-1-phosphate competing pathways, the MEB titer of triple knockout strain QC13 was significantly enhanced to 41.2 mg/L, 9.8-fold to that produced by parental strain BAP230. Subsequently, the MEB production was further increased to 48.3 mg/L through overexpression of rfbA and rfbB. Moreover, the CRISPRi was implemented to promote the TDP-L-mycarose biosynthesis via repressing the glycolysis and TDP-L-rhamnose pathway. Our study paves the way for efficient production of erythromycins in E. coli and provides a promising platform that can be applied for biosynthesis of other glycosylated products with unusual sugars. Purpose: To investigate the impact of delayed adjuvant imatinib on GIST patients with high risk of recurrence. Method: Adult GIST patients were retrospectively collected from our hospital between 2011 and 2018, and patients having high risk of recurrence were included for subsequent analyses. The primary endpoint was recurrence-free survival (RFS). Results: According to the interval between the radical surgery and the beginning of adjuvant imatinib, 222 patients were divided into three groups: group A (≤ 2 months, n = 41), group B (2–≤ 4 months, n = 113), and group C (4–≤ 6 months, n = 68). Univariate, multivariate, and survival analyses all showed that patients in group A had significantly more favorable RFS than those in group C but not group B, and patients taking adjuvant imatinib for over 12 months were also associated with longer RFS comparing to adjuvant imatinib of ≤ 12 months. When stratified by the duration of adjuvant imatinib, no significant differences were found in RFS among groups A, B, and C for adjuvant imatinib of ≤ 12 months. While for adjuvant imatinib of over 12 months, both groups A and B had significantly more favorable RFS than group C, and no significant difference in RFS was found between group A and B. Conclusion: Delayed postoperative adjuvant imatinib for over 4 months in patients with high risk of recurrence of GIST may lead to worse RFS, and longer treatment with shorter delay has best results. In the southern Tibetan Plateau, leucogranites are dominantly distributed in the Himalayan orogenic belt with minor occurrences in the southern Lhasa subterrane. In this paper, we report the first Miocene Anglonggangri leucogranites in the northern Lhasa subterrane. This finding provides important constraints on both leucogranite petrogenesis and the tectono-magmatic evolution of the Lhasa terrane. The Anglonggangri leucogranites include biotite-muscovite granite and slightly younger garnet-muscovite granite and pegmatite. Zircon U-Pb and muscovite 40Ar-39Ar dating of these leucogranites yields Miocene ages of 11.1-10.2 Ma. The biotite-muscovite and garnet-muscovite granites are characterized by high SiO2 (72.3-74.4 wt.%) and Al2O3 contents (14.4-15.4 wt.%) and are peraluminous. The biotite-muscovite granite displays geochemical signatures with high Sr/Y (29.2-81.0) and (La/Yb)N (37.5-98.9) ratios, low Y (4.30-7.22 ppm) and Yb contents (0.26-0.47 ppm), low to moderate initial (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios (0.7085-0.7192), and moderate εNd(t) values (-10.17 to -6.94). Furthermore, they also exhibit radiogenic Pb isotope and variable zircon εHf(t) values (-9.6 to +4.4) with Proterozoic Nd (1.1-1.4 Ga) and Hf model ages (0.8-1.7 Ga). By comparison, the garnet-muscovite granite has lower CaO, MgO, TiO2, and total FeO contents and is enriched in Rb (380-466 ppm) and depleted in Sr (24.1-38.5 ppm) and Ba (30.7-58.6 ppm) and further characterized by a significant rare earth element (REE) tetrad effect and non-charge and radius-controlled (CHARAC) trace element behaviors. The garnet-muscovite granite shows a negative Eu anomaly and positive correlations among Sr and Eu, Sr and Ba, and Th and light rare earth elements (LREEs). Pegmatite comprising Nb-Ta oxides and cassiterite occurs in the garnet-muscovite granite. Geochronological and geochemical characteristics of the Anglonggangri leucogranites indicate that the magma of the biotite-muscovite granite was derived from partial melting of amphibolite lower crust contaminated with Proterozoic-Archean upper crustal materials. The garnet-muscovite granite was generated through melt extraction from the biotite-muscovite granite crystal mush. These results confirm that partial melting of the amphibolite lower crust not only occurred in the southern and central Lhasa subterranes but also in the northern Lhasa subterrane. The surface evapotranspiration (ET) process is the key link in the interaction between land and atmosphere. However, the influence of different environmental factors on ET over transitional climate zones and the physical pattern of the interaction between multiple factors remain unclear. Therefore, based on the continuous observation data during the vegetation growing season of a typical grassland in the Semi-Arid Climate and Environment Observation of Lanzhou University (SACOL) station from 2007 to 2012, the influence pattern of multiple environmental factors on ET over China's transitional climate zone was analysed. Each environmental factor exhibited significant seasonal and interannual variations. The mean value of ET was 1.67 mm day-1. Although the maximum values of sensible heat flux and vapour pressure deficit occurred in April and June, respectively, the maximum values of other environmental factors appeared from July to August. Net radiation, soil moisture, and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) were the main controlling factors of ET over the grassland, with correlation coefficients of 0.54, 0.52, and 0.46, respectively. The analysis of multiple environmental factors showed that when soil moisture, wind speed, net radiation, and NDVI reached 0.2 m³ m-3, 2 m s-1, 100 W m-2, and 0.2, respectively, ET varied in contrast with vapour pressure, vapour pressure deficit, and air temperature under the influences of weather processes, land–atmosphere coupling, and drought stress. Albumin-biomineralized copper sulfide nanoparticles (Cu2-xS NPs) have attracted much attention as an emerging phototheranostic agent due to their advantages of facile preparation method and high biocompatibility. However, comprehensive preclinical safety evaluation is the only way to meet its further clinical translation. We herein evaluate detailedly the safety and hepatotoxicity of bovine serum albumin-biomineralized Cu2-xS (BSA@Cu2-xS) NPs with two different sizes in rats. Large-sized (LNPs, 17.8 nm) and small-sized (SNPs, 2.8 nm) BSA@Cu2-xS NPs with great near-infrared absorption and photothermal conversion efficiency are firstly obtained. Seven days after a single-dose intravenous administration, SNPs distributed throughout the body are cleared primarily through the feces, while a large amount of LNPs remained in the liver. A 14-day subacute toxicity study with a 28-day recovery period are conducted, showing long-term hepatotoxicity without recovery for LNPs but reversible toxicity for SNPs. Cellular uptake studies indicate that LNPs prefer to reside in Kupffer cells, leading to prolonged and delayed hepatotoxicity even after the cessation of NPs administration, while SNPs have much less Kupffer cell uptake. RNA-sequencing analysis for gene expression indicates that the inflammatory pathway, lipid metabolism pathway, drug metabolism-cytochrome P450 pathway, cholesterol/bile acid metabolism pathway, and copper ion transport/metabolism pathway are compromised in the liver by two sizes of BSA@Cu2-xS NPs, while only SNPs show a complete recovery of altered gene expression after NPs discontinuation. This study aims to detect whether the optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) can be used to dynamically monitor intracranial pressure (ICP). Adult patients undergoing invasive ICP monitoring on the day of admission are included in this study. For each patient, the ONSD is first measured in the supine position and then in the 30◦ head-up position. Subsequently, a dynamic test is conducted on 16 patients. The ONSD is measured in the supine position once a day for three consecutive days starting on the day of admission. There is a strong correlation between the ONSD and ICP values in the supine position on admission (r = 0.799), and when patients are changed from the supine to the 30◦ head-up position, the ICP and ONSD values decrease correspondingly. However, the change in ICP is not strongly correlated with the change in ONSD (r = 0.358). In the dynamic test, a good agreement between the ICP and ONSD only exists in three patients (18.8%), and three patients have completely different profiles for ICP and ONSD. These results suggest that the changes in the ONSD and ICP values are not closely correlated after dynamic observation. This study aimed to examine the effects of shoe insole hardness on the dynamic postural stability of basketball athletes during jump landing manoeuvres. Twenty college basketball athletes were recruited to complete a single-leg jump landing task on a force plate in three insole conditions (soft-, rigid- and no-insole). Kistler force plate and Pedar-X insole system were used to collect the ground reaction force (GRF) and plantar pressure data. Dynamic Postural Stability Index (DPSI), Anterior-Posterior Stability Index (APSI), Medial-Lateral Stability Index (MLSI), and Vertical Stability Index (VSI) were then calculated from GRF data. DPSI, APSI, MLSI, and VSI were statistically conducted among the three insole conditions by a one-way ANOVA with repeated measures. MLSI were decreased when wearing soft- and rigid insoles compared with no-insole condition (p < 0.05). However, there were no significant differences in APSI and VSI among the three insole conditions. In the midfoot region, contact areas were increased in the soft- and rigid insole than the no-insole condition (p < 0.0001). Dynamic balance of basketball athletes in the medial-lateral direction could be enhanced by wearing insoles during jump landings tasks. Pleocatenata, a new genus, is introduced with its type species, Pleocatenata chiangraiensis, which was isolated from withered twigs of two medicinal plants, Clerodendrum quadriloculare (Blanco) Merr (Verbenaceae) and Tarenna stellulata (Hook.f.) Ridl (Rubiaceae) in northern Thailand. The genus is characterized by mononematous, septate, brown or dark brown conidiophores, monotretic conidiogenous cells and catenate, obclavate, olivaceous to blackish brown conidia. Phylogenetic analysis of combined LSU, SSU, tef1-α, rpb2 and ITS sequence data showed Pleocatenata forms a distinct phylogenetic lineage in Pleosporales, Dothideomycetes. Therefore, we treat Pleocatenata as Pleosporales genera incertae sedis based on morphology and phylogenetic analyses. The binding mechanism of the Cu (II) complex with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) was understood from the UV and fluorescence spectra, as-well as cyclic voltammetry techniques. The stability of the Cu (II) complex was observed from the findings of the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy gap. Additionally, molecular docking studies have revealed the binding affinity of the Cu (II) complex within the base pairs of CT-DNA. Subsequently, the Cu (II) complex was studied in cytotoxicity assessments using human liver cancer cells. The MTT assay was employed to evaluate cellular metabolic activity, and how it serves as an indicator while assessing the cell viability, proliferation, and cytotoxic effects. The resulting complex demonstrates significant cytotoxicity against HepG2 cancer cell lines. Furthermore, the complex has been investigated for its antibacterial potential against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus haemolyticus , Bacillus cereus) and Gram-negative (Enterobacter cloacae) bacteria. Also, it exhibits notable antifungal activity against fungi (TrichodermaViride , Clodosorium). • Excellent weld joints of high borated steels were produced by electron beam welding. • Weld joints with higher boron content tend to exhibit better mechanical properties. • Post weld heat treatment is a crucial step to fabricate high-performance weld joints. • A proper heat input is essential to obtain weld joints with better ductility. High borated stainless steels (HBSSs) are widely used in nuclear field because of excellent neutron-shielding ability. However, coarse network-like borides are prone to be formed in weld joints during welding process, deteriorating the ductility seriously. In this work, electron beam (EB) welding was adopted to join ∼3.5 mm thick HBSSs containing 0.30–2.12 wt. % boron. Benefiting from high energy density, fine γ-Fe matrix and network-like borides were obtained in fusion zone (FZ) and partially molten zone (PMZ) of weld joints. The effects of boron content, heat input and post weld heat treatment (PWHT) on the microstructure, mechanical properties and fracture behaviour of weld joints were investigated. As boron content increased, narrower PMZ was observed in weld joints owing to smaller solidification temperature range. The volume fraction and size of borides in PMZ/FZ raised, enhancing the strength and decreasing the ductility. Meanwhile, the fracture location of weld joints was closer to the interface of PMZ and base metal (BM) during deformation. Higher heat input brought a wider PMZ and larger penetration depth, but hardly changed the size and distribution of borides. Interestingly, it caused a steep slope of interfacial line between PMZ and BM, leading to the fracture along the interface with low ductility. After PWHT, the borides in PMZ/FZ were spheroidized, and the stress localization during deformation was weakened. Consequently, excellent weld joints exhibiting similar mechanical properties with base steels were produced. The first-order phase transition plays a pivotal role in material behaviors, yet that of carbides, a type of important material, has not been systematically studied. Herein, the melting process and structural properties of binary iron carbide (FexCy) nanoparticles are characterized by reactive molecular dynamics simulation. It was found that the melting point of FexCy nanoparticles decreased with the decreasing size and increased with the increasing Fe/C ratio, which were consistent with the experimental results. The melting process starts at the surface and proceeds inwards. The carbon atoms are fully activated before reaching the melting point and the iron core melts last. At high temperatures, carbon atoms exhibit significant outward diffusion behavior and form carbon deposition on the surface. When the temperature exceeds the pre-melting point, although the high temperature gives the nanoparticles more atomic active sites with low coordination, the surface carbon accumulation, such as C2, blocks the active sites leading to a lower turnover frequency of FexCy for CO dissociation. These findings provide an atomistic comprehension of the melting mechanisms and behaviors of binary FexCy nanoparticles, as well as a theoretical foundation for understanding their structural transformation as a catalyst, which is caused by the heat released from catalytic exothermic reactions. A new species of Leaf Litter Toad, Leptobrachella shimentaina sp. nov., is described from the Shimentai and Luokeng nature reserves of northern Guangdong Province, southern China. The new taxon can be distinguished from all recognized congeners by a combination of discrete morphological character state differences relating to its small body size (SVL 26.4--28.9 mm in six adult males, 30.1 and 30.7 mm in two adult females); a number of apparently fixed color pattern character differences (including eye coloration and color pattern features from dorsal, ventral, and dorsolateral surfaces of its head, body, limbs, and ventrum); the morphological and discrete characteristics of the external phenotype (the skin texture of dorsum and ventrum, the presence of supra-axillary and ventrolateral glands, the wide dermal fringes and rudimentary webbing on toes, and the uninterrupted longitudinal ridges under toes). Two samples of this new species previously were proposed as representing a new, unnamed species. We now substantiate this claim by providing diagnostic comparisons of discrete character differences. In addition, we also discuss taxonomic uncertainty surrounding the identity of two congeners, L. chishuiensis and L. purpurus, which we interpret as indicative of taxonomic inflation in the species-rich subfamily Megophryidae. Background: Ultrasound Breast Imaging-Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) classification may underestimate ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Currently, there is a lack of research on ultrasound BI-RADS underestimating DCIS. Objectives: To improve the diagnosis of DCIS, this study aimed to investigate factors associated with the underestimation of DCIS, based on ultrasound BI-RADS assessments. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, consecutive patients with breast ultrasound BI-RADS classification and biopsy results were retrospectively examined. DCIS was found in the pathology reports of all patients. DCIS cases classified as BI-RADS 4A or lower were considered as underestimations of DCIS, while DCIS cases classified as BI-RADS 4B or higher were considered as non-underestimation of DCIS. The demographics, clinical manifestations, features of breast images, BI-RADS classification, and pathological results of the two groups were compared to explore possible associated factors. A stepwise logistic regression analysis was also carried out based on the significance of factors associated with the underestimation of DCIS according to the BI-RADS assessment. Results: Between January 2015 and May 2017, a total of 296 breast DCIS lesions were diagnosed in 294 female patients. Overall, 65 lesions (22.0%) were underestimated DCIS, and 231 lesions (78.0%) were non-underestimated DCIS; no significant differences were found between their clinical presentations. The univariate analysis showed that the age of the patients, presence of microinvasions, maximum lesion diameter, shape, margin, orientation, echo pattern, posterior acoustic features, ultrasound pattern, and vascularity of lesions were possibly associated factors, which could lead to the underestimation of DCIS. The logistic regression analysis showed that age above 50 years, maximum lesion diameter < 10 mm, lack of microinvasion, and circumscribed margins were associated with the underestimation of DCIS. Conclusion: In this study, 22% of DCIS lesions was underestimated by the BI-RADS assessment. In this study, a strategy to print hydroxyapatite (HA) ceramics based on falling- down-type digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing technology with high accuracy was proposed. The monolayer curing thickness and curing broadening of the samples were compared under different conditions, and the most suitable photoinitiator for the system and optimal amount of additive dye in the slurry were obtained. The light power density and single-layer exposure time of the light source of the DLP printerwere optimized, and anumber of high-resolution models of HA scaffolds with an exact square-channel aperture width of 380 µm were successfully printed. The shrinkage, microstructural, and mechanical properties of the HA ceramic scaffolds were studied at different sintering temperatures. The microstructure and composition of the scaffolds were also characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffractometry. The compressive strength and compressive modulus of HA porous scaffold were 11.61 MPa and 1.26 GPa, respectively. And the porosity of scaffold was 31.67%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The simplified governing equations of applied mechanics play a pivotal role and were derived based on ingenious assumptions or hypotheses regarding the displacement fields for specific problems. In this paper, we introduce a data-driven method by the name AI-Timoshenko in honor of Timoshenko, father of applied solid mechanics, to automatically discover simplified governing equations for applied mechanics problems directly from discrete data simulated by the three-dimensional (3D) finite element method. The simplified governing equations are in variational form, which is compact and advantageous for data-driven discovery. AI-Timoshenko liberates applied mechanicians from burdensome labor, including assumptions, derivation, and trial and error. The simplified governing equations for Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam theories are successfully rediscovered using the present AI-Timoshenko method, which shows that this method is capable of discovering simplified governing equations for applied mechanics problems. In this study, a novel intelligent nanoplatform to integrate multiple imaging and therapeutic functions for targeted cancer theranostics. The nanoplatform, DOX@Gd-MFe3O4 NPs, was constructed Gd-doped mesoporous Fe3O4 nanoparticles following with the doxorubicin (DOX) loading in the mesopores of the NPs. The DOX@Gd-MFe3O4 NPs exhibited good properties in colloidal dispersity, photothermal conversion, NIR triggered drug release, and high T1/T2 relaxicity rate (r1=9.64mM-1s-1, r2= 177.71mM-1s-1). Benefiting from the high MR contrast, DOX@Gd-MFe3O4 NPs enabled simultaneous T1/T2 dual-modal MR imagining on 4T1 bearing mice in vivo and the MR contrast effect was further strengthened by external magnetic field. In addition, the DOX@Gd-MFe3O4 NPs revealed the strongest inhibition to the growth of 4T1 in vitro and in vivo under NIR irradiation and guidance of external magnetic field. Moreover, biosafety was also validated by in vitro and in vivo tests. This paper mainly discusses the influence of the Weyl fractional integrals on continuous functions and proves that the Weyl fractional integrals can retain good properties of many functions. For example, a bounded variation function is still a bounded variation function after the Weyl fractional integral. Continuous functions that satisfy the Holder condition after the Weyl fractional integral still satisfy the Holder condition, furthermore, there is a linear relationship between the order of the Holder conditions of the two functions. Phylogenetic analyses of combined LSU, rpb2, tub2 and ITS sequence data of representative Xylariales taxa indicated that Diabolocovidia, Didymobotryum and Vamsapriya cluster together and form a distinct clade in Xylariales. Morphological comparison also shows their distinctiveness from other families of Xylariales. Therefore, we introduce it as a novel family, Vamsapriyaceae. Based on morphological characteristics, Podosporium and Tretophragmia, which were previously classified in Ascomycota genera incertae sedis, are now included in the Vamsapriyaceae.
