In the past decade, tumor treatment strategies have shifted from tumors to the immune system of tumor patients. NIR laser-induced photothermal therapy can not only generate heat or reactive oxygen species to kill tumors but also induce immunogenic cell death and activate the overall antitumor immune response. The ICD process is usually accompanied by autophagosome formation, which contains tumor-associated antigens. However, the fusion of autophagosome and lysosome impairs antigens, weakening the antitumor immune response. Thus, administration with autophagy terminal inhibitors could be a compensatory strategy. In this work, we prepared a thermally sensitive liposome drug delivery system containing the photothermal agent IR780 and autophagy inhibitor HCQ (IR780/HCQ-Lip). IR780/HCQ-Lip has a uniform particle size distribution and good photodynamic and photothermal properties. The inhibition of autophagy enhanced the phototherapy effect. Compared with the survival rate of 4T1 cells being treated with IR780-Lip phototherapy alone (36.87%), the survival rate of the IR780/HCQ-Lip group decreased to 3.71%. IR780/HCQ-Lip caused a massive accumulation of autophagosomes, promoted the maturation of dendritic cells (DCs), and enhanced the infiltration of intratumoral T cells. In addition, IR780/HCQ-Lip produced a systemic immune response and also showed good inhibition of distal tumor growth under laser action in distal tumor experiments. The measurement of pig weight holds significant importance for producers as it plays a crucial role in managing pig growth, health, and marketing, thereby facilitating informed decisions regarding scientific feeding practices. On one hand, the conventional manual weighing approach is characterized by inefficiency and time consumption. On the other hand, it has the potential to induce heightened stress levels in pigs. This research introduces a hybrid 3D point cloud denoising approach for precise pig weight estimation. By integrating statistical filtering and DBSCAN clustering techniques, we mitigate weight estimation bias and overcome limitations in feature extraction. The convex hull technique refines the dataset to the pig's back, while voxel down-sampling enhances real-time efficiency. Our model integrates pig back parameters with a convolutional neural network (CNN) for accurate weight estimation. Experimental analysis indicates that the mean absolute error (MAE), mean absolute percent error (MAPE), and root mean square error (RMSE) of the weight estimation model proposed in this research are 12.45 kg, 5.36%, and 12.91 kg, respectively. In contrast to the currently available weight estimation methods based on 2D and 3D techniques, the suggested approach offers the advantages of simplified equipment configuration and reduced data processing complexity. These benefits are achieved without compromising the accuracy of weight estimation. Consequently, the proposed method presents an effective monitoring solution for precise pig feeding management, leading to reduced human resource losses and improved welfare in pig breeding. This study adopted hyperspectral imaging technology combined with machine learning to detect the disease severity of stem blight through the canopy of asparagus mother stem. Several regions of interest were selected from each hyperspectral image, and the reflection spectra of the regions of interest were extracted. There were 503 sets of hyperspectral data in the training set and 167 sets of hyperspectral data in the test set. The data were preprocessed using various methods and the dimension was reduced using PCA. K−nearest neighbours (KNN), decision tree (DT), BP neural network (BPNN), and extreme learning machine (ELM) were used to establish a classification model of asparagus stem blight. The optimal model depended on the preprocessing methods used. When modeling was based on the ELM method, the disease grade discrimination effect of the FD−MSC−ELM model was the best with an accuracy (ACC) of 1.000, a precision (PREC) of 1.000, a recall (REC) of 1.000, an F1-score (F1S) of 1.000, and a norm of the absolute error (NAE) of 0.000, respectively; when the modeling was based on the BPNN method, the discrimination effect of the FD−SNV−BPNN model was the best with an ACC of 0.976, a PREC of 0.975, a REC of 0.978, a F1S of 0.976, and a mean square error (MSE) of 0.072, respectively. The results showed that hyperspectral imaging of the asparagus mother stem canopy combined with machine learning methods could be used to grade and detect stem blight in asparagus mother stems. For CNN-based visual action recognition, the accuracy may be increased if local key action regions are focused on. The task of self-attention is to focus on key features and ignore irrelevant information. So, self-attention is useful for action recognition. However, current self-attention methods usually ignore correlations among local feature vectors at spatial positions in CNN feature maps. In this paper, we propose an effective interaction-aware self-attention model which can extract information about the interactions between feature vectors to learn attention maps. Since the different layers in a network capture feature maps at different scales, we introduce a spatial pyramid with the feature maps at different layers for attention modeling. The multi-scale information is utilized to obtain more accurate attention scores. These attention scores are used to weight the local feature vectors of the feature maps and then calculate attentional feature maps. Since the number of feature maps input to the spatial pyramid attention layer is unrestricted, we easily extend this attention layer to a spatio-temporal version. Our model can be embedded in any general CNN to form a video-level end-to-end attention network for action recognition. Several methods are investigated to combine the RGB and flow streams to obtain accurate predictions of human actions. Exploring high-performance and cost-affordable electroactive materials for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and energy storage is of paramount importance to respond positively to the looming energy crisis. Here we report a nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous carbon nanosheet decorated with nickel–copper alloy nanoparticles (NiCu@NHPC), which can be fabricated in large quantities using lactose and nitrate as precursors via a simple two-step carbonization strategy. No external template or pore-forming agent was used in the preparation process. The structural characterizations reveal that monodisperse NiCu alloy nanoparticles are tightly embedded into the porous carbon framework. Benefiting from its outstanding structure feature, the NiCu@NHPC hybrid exhibits exceptional electrochemical performance. Specifically, the NiCu@NHPC hybrid as supercapacitor electrode material displays a high specific capacity up to 1175 C g–1 at 1 A g–1 and a good rate performance. Meanwhile, the assembled asymmetric supercapacitor device NiCu@NHPC//NHPC delivers a desirable energy density of 61.33 Wh kg–1 at a power density of 960 W kg–1 and a long-term cycle life. More importantly, the NiCu@NHPC hybrid also manifests a superior electrocatalytic activity for HER with an overpotential of 80 mV at 10 mA cm–2, a lower Tafel slope (76 mV dec–1), and good durability in acidic media. This work provides a facile but effective strategy for designing bimetallic alloy@carbon hybrids for application as high-performance supercapacitor electrode material and HER electrocatalyst. Triple cation perovskite photodetectors with different feature bandgaps were stacked and sealed for multi-color fluorescence detection. Fluorescence consisting of different wavelength photons could be absorbed sequentially by the corresponding layers in the stacked photodetectors, thereby promising a high quantum efficiency and allowing better spatial resolution in principle. Experimentally, fluorescent quantum dots of central wavelengths of 650 nm, 690 nm, and 777 nm were detected simultaneously in a mixed solution. The LODs of the three kinds of CdTe QDs are 6.16, 7.25 and 8.11 nM, respectively, and the deviation is smaller than 20%. Objectives: To evaluate the effect of exercise intervention on disability, pain, and kinesiophobia in a retired athlete with old patella fracture. Methods: A 34-year-old retired football player with old patella fracture conducted the exercise intervention for 12 weeks, 1 h each time, three times a week. the retired football player completed the Lysholm Knee Score (LKS), Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK) were measured at pre-intervention, mid-intervention, and post-intervention. Results: Based on the functional training perspective, the retired athlete was subjected to two stages of exercise intervention for a total of 12 weeks. The patient's LKS score increased from 76 to 95, and the pain level of various physical states was relieved. When walking, the VAS score was reduced from 3 to 1, and when running, the VAS score was reduced from 5 to 2. Jumping VAS score for actions was reduced from 6 to 3, and the VAS score for of daily life activities was reduced from 3 points to 2. The patient's TSK score from 50 to 37. Nature exposure is known to promote physical and mental health. However, actual nature exposure may be difficult to achieve for the population of people with physical disabilities or chronic conditions. Therefore, many attempts have been made to duplicate nature exposure via media devices, and virtual reality (VR) is deemed as a promising technology due to its advantage in creating a sense of immersion. Generally, current studies suggest that being exposed to virtual nature may contribute to psychological and physiological relaxation. Besides, some pieces of evidence indicate that virtual nature may improve attentional resources, cognitive performance, and pain experience. Although VR is deemed as an advanced media, insufficient evidence was found concerning the advantages of VR over traditional two-dimensional media when it comes to simulated nature exposure. On the other hand, computer-generated (CG) scenarios were found to be more beneficial than 360° videos, and mini-games may be useful in creating an interactive VR format for simulated nature exposure. The prevalence of fear of movement (kinesiophobia) in persistent pain ranges from 50 to 70%, and it may hinder the subsequent rehabilitation interventions. Therefore, the evaluation of fear of movement/(re)injury plays a crucial role in making clinical treatment decisions conducive to the promotion of rehabilitation and prognosis. In the decision-making process of pain treatment, the assessment of fear of movement/(re)injury is mainly completed by scale/questionnaire. Scale/questionnaire is the most widely used instrument for measuring fear of movement/(re)injury in the decision-making process of pain treatment. At present, the most commonly used scale/questionnaire are the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK), the Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire (FABQ), the Kinesiophobia Causes Scale (KCS), the Athlete Fear-Avoidance Questionnaire (AFAQ), and the Fear-Avoidance Components Scale (FACS). In order to provide necessary tools and references for related research and rehabilitation treatment, this descriptive review is designed as an introduction to the background and content, score system, available language versions, variants of the original questionnaire, and psychometric properties of these scales/questionnaries. As a cost-effective solution for transporting corrosive hydrocarbons, mechanically lined pipe has been used in many offshore and onshore projects. The bonding between the carbon steel carrier and the non-corrosive liner is commonly achieved by mechanical expansion. As typical pipeline damage, the local dent brings deformation to the bimetallic composite, which is expected to undermine the structural integrity. This work investigates the influence of a local dent on the plastic responses and stability of a lined pipe system during bending. Part I presents the results of the experiments and numerical analysis involving a set of small-scale lined tubes. The lined tubes, made of carbon steel Grade GB45 (AISI 1045) and copper Grade T2, are manufactured using a custom hydraulic expansion facility. The products have finished diameters of 50 mm and an overall D / t of 16.5, with 1.0 mm thickness for the liner. A minor transverse dent is introduced to the specimen using a cylindrical indenter. The dented tube is subsequently bent to collapse in a four-point bending facility. It is found that the local dent tends to induce early collapse of both the outer tube and the liner, resulting in a noteworthy reduction of the bending capacity of the composite. Initially, the local dent grows stably instead of collapsing right away. With increasing bending, the liner develops a major buckle and several satellite dimples around it. Subsequently, the manufacture, indentation, and the succeeding bending to collapse are simulated using a custom numerical framework, and the experimental results are reproduced reasonably well. Phosphate removal has been the top priority in eutrophic wastewater treatment. Herein we reported a fast, efficient and selective adsorbent, PCNs@PCP-La, for phosphate removal from an aqueous medium. The adsorbent was fabricated via two steps: (1) synthesis of PCNs@PCP composite through in situ polymerization of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene and polyethyleneimine on the porous carbon nanosheets; and (2) lanthanum ion (La3+) modification of PCNs@PCP via an impregnation process to create PCNs@PCP-La hybrid. Multiple characterizations showed that the atomically dispersed La3+ ions could be facilely chelated with nitrogen-rich cyclomatrix polyphosphazene framework, significantly improving the application efficiency of La3+ ions as active adsorption sites. Comparative tests confirmed that PCNs@PCP-La had a high phosphate uptake capacity of up to 121.2 mg P g−1 (pH = 4.0) at 298 K and performed well even in a wide pH range (3.0–9.0). Also, PCNs@PCP-La showed a particularly short saturated adsorption time (5 min), indicating a fast adsorption kinetic process. Meanwhile, PCNs@PCP-La presented a superior adsorption selectivity for phosphate under interference with coexisting anions/cation and humic acid, and owned an attractive reusability (after 5th cycles, 85% capacity retention). The plausible adsorption mechanism can be ascribed to electrostatic attraction, inner-sphere complexation, and the formation of LaPO 4 ·0.5H 2 O precipitates between adsorbent and adsorbate. • N treatment approach and sampling time affected fine root biomass and morphology. • Canopy N addition increased fine root biomass. • Fine root biomass and morphology were mainly affected in the growing season. • Fine root biomass was most affected by NH 4 -N and NO 3 -N in growing season. Global nitrogen (N) deposition patterns have profoundly affected the production and morphological structure of fine roots, which in turn changed the distribution of carbon in forests. However, traditional experiments of N addition in forests have ignored the ecological processes in the canopy, such as nitrogen retention, and the effects of these on N deposition and fine root functional traits remain unclear. In this study, we quantified the effects of the canopy (CAN) and understory N addition (UAN) on the biomass and morphology of fine roots in a temperate deciduous forest. Based on the three-way ANOVA, we found that the N treatment approach (CAN vs. UAN; p < 0.05) and sampling time (July, October, and January; p < 0.001) significantly affected the fine root biomass, specific root length, specific root surface area, and root tissue density and diameter. Through the summation of fine root biomass, it was found that CAN treatment increased fine root biomass, while UAN treatment decreased fine root biomass, and canopy N addition at 50 kg ha-1yr−1 (CAN50) significantly increased fine root biomass compared with understory N addition at 50 kg ha-1yr−1 (UAN50) in July and October (p < 0.05). Redundancy analysis (RDA) showed that fine root biomass was most affected by NH 4 -N and NO 3 -N in July. There was no consistent response of fine root morphology to the N application method and N addition rate; it was mainly affected by season (p < 0.001). Different results were obtained using different N treatment approaches. The effects of UAN on forest fine root biomass were likely overestimated compared to the effects of CAN. Our experimental results will provide a scientific basis for a more accurate prediction of the impacts of future global N deposition on fine roots in forest ecosystems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The prevalence of mental health issues has been gradually increasing among college students in recent years. Improvements in mental health can be achieved through changes in daily behavior and the use of psychological counseling. This study aims to investigate the relationship between health-promoting behaviors and negative emotions among college freshmen as they enter the university. It also examines the impact of various sub-dimensions of health-promoting behaviors and other factors on the negative emotions (stress, anxiety, and depression) experienced by college freshmen., Methods: Using the Negative Emotion and Health-Promoting Behavior scales, a 7-month longitudinal study was conducted on 4,252 college freshmen, with collection of data at two time points (T1: November 12, 2021; T2: June 17, 2022). Out of this longitudinal study, 3,632 valid samples were obtained. This research aimed to explore the association and impact between negative emotions and the level of health-promoting behaviors among college students during their time at the university., Results: ① There were significant differences in the levels of health-promoting behaviors and negative emotions over the course of 7 months ( P < 0.05). Health-promoting behaviors were found to have a significant negative correlation with negative emotions ( P < 0.05). ② Negative emotions at T1 significantly negatively predicted health-promoting behaviors at T2 (β = -0.11, P < 0.01), while health-promoting behaviors at T1 significantly negatively predicted negative emotions at T2 (β = -0.12, P < 0.001). ③ Stress management (β = -0.104, P < 0.05; β = -0.087, P < 0.05), self-actualization (β = -0.282, P < 0.01; β = -0.260, P < 0.05), health responsibility (β = -0.057, P < 0.05; β = -0.088, P < 0.05), and interpersonal relations (β = 0.068, P < 0.01; β = 0.138, P < 0.05) were important components in improving stress and anxiety. To test the mediatory role of kinesiophobia between greenspace and physical activity, we conducted a cross-sectional survey and recruited 801 participants with chronic low back pain. The level of greenspace was assessed using both perceived greenspace and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). The frequency of walking and moderate and vigorous physical activities was measured using a brief assessment, while kinesiophobia was evaluated using the 11-item Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK-11). The results revealed that perceived greenspace was positively associated with all measured physical activities, and was negatively associated with kinesiophobia. Meanwhile, NDVI was only positively associated with moderate and vigorous physical activity. Kinesiophobia played a marginal but significant mediating role in the association of perceived greenspace with walking, moderate physical activity, and vigorous physical activity. Background: Healthy lifestyles are considered important means to reduce the burden of diseases. This cross-sectional study was conducted based on the Ecological Model of Health Behavior (EMHB) to analyze the factors associated with the health-promoting lifestyles of Chinese residents., Methods: We carried out a cross-sectional investigation in July 2023. Our investigated factors included social-demographic characteristics (including sex, age, education level, employment status, marital status, personal monthly income, and daily behavioral habits [which were measured by a questionnaire)], health literacy [which was measured by the Chinese version of the Health Literacy Scale Short-Form scale (HLS-SF12)], and family health [which was measured by the Chinese version of the Short-Form of the Family Health Scale (FHS-SF)]. Our outcome was health promoting lifestyle, which was measured by a revised version of Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile-II (HPLP-IIR). Data were analyzed using stepwise regression., Results: A total of 1,402 participants were enrolled. Higher scores of HLS-SF12 ( β  = 0.467), having regular exercise ( β  = 0.212), and regular physical examination ( β  = 0.088) were associated with better health-prompting lifestyles. However, older age (≥60 years) ( β  = -0.046), drinking ( β  = -0.066), and sleeping time (5-6 h/day) ( β  = -0.048) were associated lower levels of health-prompting lifestyles. Living with family ( β  = 0.077), FHS-SF ( β  = 0.104), and married ( β  = -0.077) were significant influencers. Unemployed ( β  = -0.048), receiving retirement pay ( β  = -0.053), and economic support provided by parents ( β  = 0.094) were associated with better health-prompting lifestyles. There were multiple influencing factors of the six dimensions of the HPLP-IIR. Background: Exergames are promising exercise tools for improving health. To the best of our knowledge, no systematic review has compared the effects of commercial exergames and conventional exercises on improving executive functions (EFs) in children and adolescents., Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effects of commercial exergames and conventional exercises on improving EFs in children and adolescents., Methods: Following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, 5 randomized controlled trial (RCT) databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, PsycINFO, and SPORTDiscus) were searched from their inception to July 7, 2022, to identify relevant RCTs. The Cochrane Collaboration tool was used to evaluate the risk of bias for each study. GRADE (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation) was used to evaluate the overall quality of evidence., Results: In total, 8 RCTs including 435 children and adolescents were included in the analysis. Commercial exergames had no significant benefit on overall EFs compared to conventional exercises (Hedges g=1.464, 95% CI -0.352 to 3.280; P=.06). For core EFs, there was no evidence to suggest that commercial exergames are more beneficial for improving cognitive flexibility (g=0.906, 95% CI -0.274 to 2.086; P=.13), inhibitory control (g=1.323, 95% CI -0.398 to 3.044; P=.13), or working memory (g=2.420, 95% CI -1.199 to 6.038; P=.19) than conventional exercises. We rated the evidence for overall EFs, cognitive flexibility, inhibitory control, and working memory as being of very low quality due to inconsistency (large heterogeneity) and imprecision (low number of people). Additionally, no effects of the intervention were observed in the acute and chronic groups., Conclusions: We do not have strong evidence to support the benefit of commercial exergaming on EFs because we did not observe a Hedges g close to 0 with tight CIs.
