Abstract In recent years, the development of photocatalysts based on noncovalent strategies has shown an important role in medical and organic materials. Herein, an organic fluorescent dye benzothiazole derivative (2‐(N,N‐diethylanilin‐4‐yl)‐4,6‐bis(3‐methylpyrazol‐1‐yl)‐1,3,5‐triazine [MPBT]) was designed and synthesized. It was encapsulated in the cavity of cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]) to form a supramolecular dimer through host–guest interaction, which converted the dye into a highly efficient photocatalyst. With the formation of 2MPBT‐CB[8] supramolecular dimer, the emergence of host‐enhanced charge transfer interactions could significantly facilitate singlet to triplet through intersystem crossing. At the same time, the alternating structure of 2MPBT‐CB[8] facilitated the triplet states for further energy transfer and electron transfer. In addition, the electron transfer process with electron donor generated cationic free radical and photocatalyst negative ion free radical (PC⋅−), which in turn reacted with oxygen (O2) to form superoxide anion radical (O2⋅−). The generated O2⋅− could be used to catalyze the oxidative hydroxylation of aryl boronic acid. Therefore, the 2MPBT‐CB[8] had become a highly efficient photocatalyst for the oxidative hydroxylation of aryl boronic acid. This strategy of supramolecular dimerization provides a new strategy for the development of new photocatalysts based on noncovalent interactions.

This paper presents a method to generate random samples of soil dynamic shear modulus and dynamic damping curves with full consideration of the correlations of critical soil dynamic parameters to investigate the influence of their uncertainties on the engineering site seismic response in the implementation of equivalent linear method. A one-dimensional (1D) equivalent linear site seismic response analysis program, which serves stochastic dynamic response analysis of the engineering site, has been developed in MATLAB. A 1D free field model for the typical layered engineering sites of site class II is established in this study. The target response spectra, which are defined with spectra of the outcrop corresponding to different earthquake return periods based on the acceleration response, are employed to generate artificial seismic records. These records are scaled down by ½ and referred to as input motions at the engineering bedrock for the 1D free field model. The numerical results show that the uncertainties of the critical soil dynamic parameters has significant influence on seismic response of engineering sites, which are highly related to the amplitude and the frequency aspects of the input ground motions as well as the fundamental periods of the engineering sites. The variations of the peak shear strain and the peak ground acceleration of the site, which reach 10% and 14%, respectively, increase with the amplitudes of the input ground motions. Besides, the variations of acceleration response spectra corresponding to the plateaus of the target response spectra and the fundamental periods of engineering sites exceeds 20% with the consideration of the uncertainties of soil dynamic parameters.

Abstract Background T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) defines a group of hematological malignancies with heterogeneous aggressiveness and highly variable outcome, making therapeutic decisions a challenging task. We tried to discover new predictive model for T-ALL before treatment by using a specific pipeline designed to discover aberrantly active gene. Results The expression of 18 genes was significantly associated with shorter survival, including ACTRT2, GOT1L1, SPATA45, TOPAZ1 and ZPBP (5-GEC), which were used as a basis to design a prognostic classifier for T-ALL patients. The molecular characterization of the 5-GEC positive T-ALL unveiled specific characteristics inherent to the most aggressive T leukemic cells, including a drastic shut-down of genes located on the mitochondrial genome and an upregulation of histone genes, the latter characterizing high risk forms in adult patients. These cases fail to respond to the induction treatment, since 5-GEC either predicted positive minimal residual disease (MRD) or a short-term relapse in MRD negative patients. Conclusion Overall, our investigations led to the discovery of a homogenous group of leukemic cells with profound alterations of their biology. It also resulted in an accurate predictive tool that could significantly improve the management of T-ALL patients.

Necroptosis was elevated in both tubulointerstitial and glomerular renal tissue in patients with diabetic kidney disease (DKD), and was most pronounced on glomerulus in the stage with macroalbuminuria. This study further explored whether paeoniflorin (PF) could affect podocyte necroptosis to protect kidney injure in vivo and in vitro. Our study firstly verified that there are obvious necroptosis-related changes in the glomeruli of DKD through bioinformatics analysis combined with clinicopathological data. STZ-induced mouse diabetes model and high-glucose induced podocyte injury model were used to evaluate the renoprotection, podocyte injury protection and necroptosis regulation of PF in DKD. Subsequently, the target protein-TNFR1 that PF acted on podocytes was found by computer target prediction, and then molecular docking and Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) experiments were performed to verify that PF had the ability to directly bind to TNFR1 protein. Finally, knockdown of TNFR1 on podocytes in vitro verified that PF mainly regulated the programmed necrosis of podocytes induced by high glucose through TNFR1. In conclusion, PF can directly bind and promote the degradation of TNFR1 in podocytes and then regulate the RIPK1/RIPK3 signaling pathway to affect necroptosis, thus preventing podocyte injury in DKD. Thus, TNFR1 may be used as a new potential target to treat DKD.

Aims/Introduction: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the main complications of diabetes. Genomics may reveal the essential pathogenesis of DN. We analyzed datasets to search for key genes to explore pathological mechanisms of DN.Materials and Methods: In this study, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was used to divide the differential expression genes (DEGs) from GSE142025 into different modules, and enrichment pathway analysis was conducted for each module to find key genes related to cell death pathway. Then, verification was carried out through network and histopathology. Finally, the regulatory mechanisms of key gene expression, including transcription factors (TFs), miRNA and E3 ligases related to ubiquitination, were predicted through website prediction and then miRNA results were validated using GSE51674 dataset.Results: The results of WGCNA and enrichment pathway analysis indicated that ferroptosis had significantly occurred in advanced DN (AND) group. Analysis of DEGs indicated that the occurrence and development of ferroptosis are mainly through ALOX15-mediated lipid metabolism pathway, which was found in all intrinsic cells of the glomerulus detected by IHC and IF staining. Moreover, network predictions were used for searching ALOX15-related TFs and ubiquitination. Meanwhile, the network predictions combining with other dataset furtherly discovered miRNAs which regulated ALOX15 expression. This study showed that the levels of mmu-miR-142-3p increased in DN mice kidney tissues, compared with the NC group.Conclusion: Ferroptosis existed in glomerular intrinsic cells of ADN group and its potential key candidate gene was ALOX15 which may be regulated by miR-142 and miRNA-650, TFs (CREBBP, EP300, HDAC1, MTA1, SPI1, STAT6) and E3 ligases related to ubiquitination (PML, ZMIZ1, MARCHF1, MARCHF3, MARCHF8, MARCHF11).

Despite the fact that water is a widely available, non-toxic, and safe solvent, its application in organic synthesis remains an ongoing challenge due to the insolubility of numerous catalysts, reactants and products in water. In this study, a triphenylamine modified cyanophenylenevinylene derivative (TPCI) is reported, which exhibits excellent water solubility and remarkable selectivity and efficiency for producing singlet oxygen (1O2) in water, rendering it perfectly suited for use as an efficient photosensitizer for photocatalytic reactions of hydroazaobenzenes, olefins, and hydrosilanes to obtain functional organic molecules of azoaromatics, carbonyls, and silanols with good functional-group tolerance as well as a broad substrate scope under blue light irradiation. The present study introduces a new type II photosensitizer that enables the synthesis of functional organic molecules through photocatalytic oxidation using visible light in water with high efficiency. Interfacial solar steam generation (ISSG) is the main method to get fresh water from seawater or wastewater. The balance between evaporation rate and salt resistance is still a major challenge for ISSG. Herein, a wood aerogel island solar evaporator (WAISE) with tunable surface structure and wettability by synthesizing poly(n‐isopropylacrylamide)‐modified multi‐walled carbon nanotube photothermal layers. Compared to dense surface structure evaporators, interfacial moisture transport, thermal localization, and surface water vapor diffusion of WAISE are greatly promoted, and the evaporation rate of WAISE increased by 87.64%. WAISE allows for record performance of 200 h continuous operation in 20% NaCl solution without salt accumulation. In addition, the photo‐thermal‐electric device is developed based on WAISE with continuous water purification, power generation, and irrigation functions. Enhancing the capability for generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) and improving the photocatalytic efficiency of organic photocatalysts have been longstanding significant challenges. In the present study, we designed and synthesized two triphenylamine derivatives (MATM and MeOTPPy) with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties, which can interact with CB[8] through host–guest interactions in aqueous solution to construct supramolecular dimers (2MeOTPPy-CB[8] and 2MATM-CB[8]). In contrast to the D–A configuration observed in 2MATM-CB[8], the D–π–A configuration of 2MeOTPPy-CB[8] exhibits remarkable intersystem crossing (ISC) performance through the introduction of the thiophene group, which can significantly improve the ROS generation capacity, especially singlet oxygen (1O2), resulting in exceptional catalytic efficiency during the photocatalytic oxidation of thioanisole with a high yield of 94%. An artificial light-harvesting system (ALHS) was developed in aqueous solution by employing the electrostatic co-assembly of a tetraphenylethylene derivative modified with two sulfonate groups (TPE-BSBO) and hyperbranched polyethyleneimine (PEI) as the energy donors, and 4,7-bis(2-thienyl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (DBT) as the energy acceptors. The ALHS exhibits not only high efficiency in energy transfer and conversion but also a significant enhancement in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), especially superoxide anion radicals (O2˙−), facilitating its utilization in photocatalytic oxidation reactions. With the rapid development of photovoltaic (PV) power generation, state recognition of PV arrays is of great significance to its intelligent operation and maintenance. But the random fluctuation of PV power output leads to the obvious uncertainty for performance calculation of PV arrays; this paper proposes an evaluation method of PV arrays. Firstly, the performance calculation method and its distribution model were proposed by the kernel density estimation (KDE) method. Secondly, the probability density distribution (PDD) of different indicators was analyzed to determine the suitable observation indicator so as to introduce the stability indicator, from which the benchmark array was selected. Finally, the state recognition of PV arrays was achieved. The main conclusions and innovations of this paper are the stability evaluation method of PV arrays based on the non‐parameter estimation method and the effective operating state recognition method for PV arrays. The proposed method was proven to be more reliable by comparing it to the power generation ranking method (PGRM). The effectiveness was verified by comparing the statistical and real‐time distribution of the performance ratio, and the excess rate of different confidence levels and Euclidean distance were introduced to demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed state recognition method. Nowadays, increasing automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) are being introduced into the production line. The path planning and scheduling of multiple AGVs are complex tasks that are closely related to application scenarios. In this study, a robot's working area was divided to minimize the collision probability. Improved ant colony optimization (ACO) and improved probabilistic road map (PRM) algorithms were used for path planning to enhance the transportation efficiency. Artificial light-harvesting systems usually utilize a variety of noncovalent interactions and so their assembly processes are more complex. Building an artificial light-harvesting system with polyelectrolyte materials via only electrostatic interactions is a more easy and effective method. In this work, we designed and synthesized a tetraphenylene derivative (4PyTPE) which self-assembled into positively charged nanoparticles in aqueous solution (pH = 2). An anionic polyelectrolyte material poly(sodium 4-styrene sulfonate) (RSS) was utilized to construct an artificial light-harvesting system with 4PyTPE and rhodamine B (RhB) via electrostatic interactions between anions and cations. When the molar ratio of 4PyTPE-RSS/RhB was 100 : 3, the energy transfer efficiency (ΦET) and antenna effect (AE) were calculated to be 56.8% and 4.09, respectively. Moreover, for the first time, an artificial light-harvesting system constructed from a polyelectrolyte material was applied for the photocatalysis of cross-coupling dehydrogenation (CDC) reactions in aqueous solution with high yields of up to 90%. Background: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is closely associated with the death or survival of resident kidney cells. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the changes in renal cell survival and death in DKD and their diagnostic values in DKD progression. Materials and Methods: This study analyzed a dataset of renal tissues from DKD patients to identify changes in genes associated with renal cell death and survival. Our findings were subsequently validated in human kidney tissues. Differential indicators of DKD patients' clinicopathological data screened by stepwise regression and glomerular P62 protein expression were included in binary logistic regression analysis to assess the impact of these parameters on DKD progression. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was employed to evaluate the diagnostic value of P62 protein in DKD progression. Results: Bioinformatics analysis results revealed that glomerular autophagy in DKD was more significantly altered, which was consistent with the semi-quantitative results of P62 in glomeruli. Further studies established that P62 expression was mainly increased in podocytes. Stepwise regression analysis indicated that changes in the expressions of glomerular P62 and apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1) might be involved in the progression of DKD. However, binary logistic regression analysis results suggested that only P62 was significantly associated with DKD development. ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve (AUC) of P62 for the detection of DKD was 0.905. Conclusion: Autophagy inhibition occurred in both glomeruli and tubules, and was most pronounced in glomerular podocytes. The levels of P62 protein in glomeruli, as an autophagy activity indicator, was one of the predictors of entering the stage of macroalbuminuria in DKD. Graphical [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
