Due to budget and sensor technology constraints, a single sensor cannot simultaneously provide observational images with both a high spatial and temporal resolution. To solve the above problem, the spatiotemporal fusion (STF) method was proposed and proved to be an indispensable tool for monitoring land surface dynamics. There are relatively few systematic reviews of the STF method. Bibliometrics is a valuable method for analyzing the scientific literature, but it has not yet been applied to the comprehensive analysis of the STF method. Therefore, in this paper, we use bibliometrics and scientific mapping to analyze the 2967 citation data from the Web of Science from 1991 to 2023 in a metrological manner, covering the themes of STF, data fusion, multi-temporal analysis, and spatial analysis. The results of the literature analysis reveal that the number of articles displays a slow to rapid increase during the study period, but decreases significantly in 2023. Research institutions in China (1059 papers) and the United States (432 papers) are the top two contributors in the field. The keywords "Sentinel", "deep learning" (DL), and "LSTM" (Long Short-Term Memory) appeared most frequently in the past three years. In the future, remote sensing spatiotemporal fusion research can address more of the limitations of heterogeneous landscapes and climatic conditions to improve fused images' accuracy. Simple Summary: In the sorting process of Chinese softshell turtles, it is necessary to classify them based on their weight and accurately identify their plastron and carapace. This process requires heavy manual labor and complex mechanical processing methods. To improve processing efficiency and reduce costs, this article introduces machine vision technology, and a new image processing method is proposed. This method can estimate the weight of Chinese softshell turtles and accurately locate the positions of their plastron and carapace. The automation level of aquaculture can be greatly enhanced, and hardware costs can be reduced through software optimization through this approach. With the rapid development of the turtle breeding industry in China, the demand for automated turtle sorting is increasing. The automatic sorting of Chinese softshell turtles mainly consists of three parts: visual recognition, weight prediction, and individual sorting. This paper focuses on two aspects, i.e., visual recognition and weight prediction, and a novel method for the object detection and weight prediction of Chinese softshell turtles is proposed. In the individual sorting process, computer vision technology is used to estimate the weight of Chinese softshell turtles and classify them by weight. For the visual recognition of the body parts of Chinese softshell turtles, a color space model is proposed in this paper to separate the turtles from the background effectively. By applying multiple linear regression analysis for modeling, the relationship between the weight and morphological parameters of Chinese softshell turtles is obtained, which can be used to estimate the weight of turtles well. An improved deep learning object detection network is used to extract the features of the plastron and carapace of the Chinese softshell turtles, achieving excellent detection results. Handwriting is a biometric behavioral characteristic with evident individual distinctiveness. With the rise of the deep learning trend and demands for forensic identification, handwriting identification has become one of the focal points of research in the field of pattern recognition. Research in handwriting identification for major global languages has matured. However, in China, there is limited attention in the field of writer identification for minority languages such as Mongolian, making it challenging to resolve criminal cases involving handwriting issues. This paper initiates an initial exploration of Mongolian handwriting identification by constructing a structurally simple convolutional neural network. This convolutional neural network, consisting of 12 convolution operations and designed for Mongolian handwriting identification, is referred to as MWInet-12. In this paper, the model evaluation experiments were conducted using a dataset comprising 156,372 samples contributed by 125 writers from the MOLHW dataset. The dataset was divided into training, validation, and test sets in an 8:1:1 ratio. The final results of the experiments reveal impressive accuracy on the test set, achieving a top-1 accuracy of 89.60% and a top-5 accuracy of 97.53%. Furthermore, through comparative experiments involving Resnet50, Fragnet, GRRNN, VGG16, and VGG19 models, this paper establishes that the proposed model yields the most favorable results for Mongolian handwriting identification. The exploratory research on Mongolian handwriting identification in this paper contributes to increasing awareness of information processing for minority languages. Blueberries have high nutritional and economic value and are easy to cultivate, so they are common fruit crops in China. There is a high demand for blueberry in domestic and foreign markets, and various technologies have been used to extend the supply cycle of blueberry to about 7 months. However, blueberry grows in clusters, and a cluster of fruits generally contains fruits of different degrees of maturity, which leads to low efficiency in manually picking mature fruits, and at the same time wastes a lot of manpower and material resources. Therefore, in order to improve picking efficiency, it is necessary to adopt an automated harvesting mode. However, an accurate maturity detection model can provide a prerequisite for automated harvesting technology. Therefore, this paper proposes a blueberry ripeness detection model based on enhanced detail feature and content-aware reassembly. First of all, this paper designs an EDFM (Enhanced Detail Feature Module) that improves the ability of detail feature extraction so that the model focuses on important features such as blueberry color and texture, which improves the model's ability to extract blueberry features. Second, by adding the RFB (Receptive Field Block) module to the model, the lack of the model in terms of receptive field can be improved, and the calculation amount of the model can be reduced at the same time. Then, by using the Space-to-depth operation to redesign the MP (MaxPool) module, a new MP-S (MaxPool–Space to depth) module is obtained, which can effectively learn more feature information. Finally, an efficient upsampling method, the CARAFE (Content-Aware Reassembly of Features) module, is used, which can aggregate contextual information within a larger receptive field to improve the detection performance of the model. In order to verify the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper, experiments were carried out on the self-made dataset "Blueberry—Five Datasets" which consists of data on five different maturity levels of blueberry with a total of 10,000 images. Experimental results show that the mAP (mean average precision) of the proposed network reaches 80.7%, which is 3.2% higher than that of the original network, and has better performance than other existing target detection network models. This paper aims to develop a new model of Project-Based Instructional Taxonomy (PBIT) that provides a tool of course design that facilitates Computational Thinking (CT) development as creative action in solving real-life problems. Theoretically, PBIT is built on an integrative framework bringing together with studies on CT education, creativity, Bloom's Taxonomy, and Project-Based Instruction (PBI). This guides the course design to make alignment between diverse elements including education objectives, categories of CT, levels of learning ability, process of project facilitation, and methods of grading. A case will be discussed that focuses on a course Deep Learning and Technologies in AI bachelor program at Northeastern University (NEU) in China. It also shows how PBIT is applied in teaching practice that benefits students' CT development. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence in recent years, intelligent evaluation of college students' growth by means of the monitoring data from training processes is becoming a promising technique in the field intelligent education. Current studies, however, tend to utilize course grades, which are objective, to predict students' grade-point averages (GPAs), but usually neglect subjective factors like psychological resilience. To solve this problem, this paper takes mechanical engineering as the research object, and proposes a new machine-learning-driven GPA prediction approach to evaluate the academic performance of engineering students by incorporating psychological evaluation data into basic course scores. Specifically, this paper adopts SCL-90 psychological assessment data collected in the freshman year, including key mental health indicators such as somatization, depression, hostility, and interpersonal sensitivity indicators, as well as professional basic course scores, including mechanical principles, mechanical design, advanced mathematics, and engineering drawing. Four representative machine learning algorithms, Support Vector Machine (SVM), CNN-CBAM, Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) and Classification and Regression Tree (CART) that include deep and shallow models, respectively, are then employed to build a classification model for GPA prediction. This paper designs a validation experiment by tracking 229 students from the 2020 class from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Henan University of Science and Technology, China. The students' academic performance in senior grades is divided into five classes to use as the prediction labels. It is verified that psychological data and course data can be effectively integrated into GPA prediction for college students, with an accuracy rate of 83.64%. Meanwhile, this paper also reveals that anxiety indicators in the psychological assessment data have the greatest impact on college students' academic performance, followed by interpersonal sensitivity. The experimental results also show that, for predicting junior year GPAs, psychological factors play more important role than they do in predicting sophomore GPAs. Suggestions are therefore given: the current practice in existing undergraduate teaching, i.e., only conducting psychological assessments in the initial freshman year, should be updated by introducing follow-up psychological assessments in each academic year. In China, table tennis has always been one of the most popular sports, with small field restrictions and it is simple and fun to play. But what is unknown is that with China's major table tennis events thriving, the psychological pressure of table tennis players' training is also increasing. However, the existing training methods obviously do not pay enough attention to psychological training, and there is no complete system for psychological training. Although the current dynamic heart rate measurement method can play a certain role in the detection, there is still the disadvantage of low detection accuracy. The heart rate is an important sign of life, and the monitoring of the heart rate of table tennis players should be strengthened, reflecting the functional state of the athletes' heart, and facilitating the more intuitive adjustment of the psychological training method of athletes. The heart rate measurement method based on face recognition contains a plate content that is rich. Through deep learning face recognition, the heart rate measurement method has high calculation efficiency, can effectively eliminate the influence of other external environmental factors, can use video recording, and can use face recognition and physiological parameters' quantification to monitor athletes' heart rate changes in real time; the visible artificial intelligence auxiliary diagnosis potential is huge. To this end, this paper aims to provide effective suggestions for the psychological training of table tennis players with deep learning as the technical support. In response to this, the aim of this paper was to design a deep learning-based face recognition heart rate measurement method that judges the psychological fluctuations of athletes through changes in heart rate. We conducted a questionnaire survey with the table tennis players of the Hunan team as the object of investigation, so as to understand the source of the psychological pressure of athletes and make reasonable suggestions. The experimental results of this paper show that the heart rate error of the video heart rate measurement algorithm is within 3% in the calm state and within 4% in the post-exercise state. This can effectively measure psychological fluctuations, and through investigation and research, it can provide an effective method for the psychological training of table tennis players. After many years of exploitation in the petroleum field, most of the oil fields are in advanced stages of development, with a strong non-homogeneity of the reservoir, more residual oil, and low recovery efficiency. Therefore, research on various methods has been carried out by scholars to improve the rate of recovery and to understand the distribution pattern of residual oil in reservoirs. Among the whole clastic reservoirs, fluvial reservoirs occupy a large proportion, so fluvial reservoirs will be the priority for future reservoir research in China. The key to the fine characterization of fluvial-phase reservoirs is to able to reproduce the continuous curvature of the channel, and one important parameter is the width of the channel. The width of the channel sand body is one of the key factors in designing well programs, and accurately identifying the channel boundary is the key to identifying a single channel. Traditional research methods cannot accurately characterize the continuous bending and oscillating morphology of underwater diversion channels, and it is not easy to quantitatively characterize the spatial structure. Therefore, in this paper, a deep learning method is applied to quantitatively identify the width of a single channel within an underwater diversion channel at the delta front edge. Based on the sedimentary background of the block and modern depositional studies, we established candidate models for underwater diversion channels with channel widths of 100, 130, 160, 190, 220, and 250 m based on target simulation and human–computer interactions. The results show that when the width of the underwater diversion channel is 160 m, it has the highest matching rate with the conditional data and corresponds to the actual situation. Therefore, it can be determined that it is the common width of underwater diversion channel in the study area. And it is shown that the method can accurately identify the width of underwater diversion channels, and the results provide a basis for reservoir fine characterization studies. With the advent of the era of big data and information technology, deep learning (DL) has become a hot trend in the research field of artificial intelligence (AI). The use of deep learning methods for parameter inversion, disease identification, detection, surrounding rock classification, disaster prediction, and other tunnel engineering problems has also become a new trend in recent years, both domestically and internationally. This paper briefly introduces the development process of deep learning. By reviewing a number of published papers on the application of deep learning in tunnel engineering over the past 20 years, this paper discusses the intelligent application of deep learning algorithms in tunnel engineering, including collapse risk assessment, water inrush prediction, crack identification, structural stability evaluation, and seepage erosion in mountain tunnels, urban subway tunnels, and subsea tunnels. This paper consists of a bibliometric study that covers the topic of 3D object detection from 2022 until the present day. It employs various analysis approaches that shed light on the leading authors, affiliations, and countries within this research domain alongside the main themes of interest related to it. The findings revealed that China is the leading country in this domain given the fact that it is responsible for most of the scientific literature as well as being a host for the most productive universities and authors in terms of the number of publications. China is also responsible for initiating a significant number of collaborations with various nations around the world. The most basic theme related to this field is deep learning, along with autonomous driving, point cloud, robotics, and LiDAR. The work also includes an in-depth review that underlines some of the latest frameworks that took on various challenges regarding this topic, the improvement of object detection from point clouds, and training end-to-end fusion methods using both camera and LiDAR sensors, to name a few. Photovoltaic (PV) power generation is booming in rural areas, not only to meet the energy needs of local farmers but also to provide additional power to urban areas. Existing methods for estimating the spatial distribution of PV power generation potential either have low accuracy and rely on manual experience or are too costly to be applied in rural areas. In this paper, we discuss three aspects, namely, geographic potential, physical potential, and technical potential, and propose a large-scale and efficient PV potential estimation system applicable to rural rooftops in China. Combined with high-definition map images, we proposed an improved SegNeXt deep learning network to extract roof images. Using the national standard Design Code for Photovoltaic Power Plants (GB50797-2012) and the Bass model, computational results were derived. The average pixel accuracy of the improved SegNeXt was about 96%, which well solved the original problems of insufficient finely extracted edges, poor adhesion, and poor generalization ability and can cope with different types of buildings. Leizhou City has a geographic potential of 1500 kWh/m2, a physical potential of 25,186,181.7 m2, and a technological potential of 442.4 MW. For this paper, we innovatively used the Bass Demand Diffusion Model to estimate the installed capacity over the next 35 years and combined the Commodity Diffusion Model with the installed capacity, which achieved a good result and conformed to the dual-carbon "3060" plan for the future of China. Dragon fruit is one of the most popular fruits in China and Southeast Asia. It, however, is mainly picked manually, imposing high labor intensity on farmers. The hard branches and complex postures of dragon fruit make it difficult to achieve automated picking. For picking dragon fruits with diverse postures, this paper proposes a new dragon fruit detection method, not only to identify and locate the dragon fruit, but also to detect the endpoints that are at the head and root of the dragon fruit, which can provide more visual information for the dragon fruit picking robot. First, YOLOv7 is used to locate and classify the dragon fruit. Then, we propose a PSP-Ellipse method to further detect the endpoints of the dragon fruit, including dragon fruit segmentation via PSPNet, endpoints positioning via an ellipse fitting algorithm and endpoints classification via ResNet. To test the proposed method, some experiments are conducted. In dragon fruit detection, the precision, recall and average precision of YOLOv7 are 0.844, 0.924 and 0.932, respectively. YOLOv7 also performs better compared with some other models. In dragon fruit segmentation, the segmentation performance of PSPNet on dragon fruit is better than some other commonly used semantic segmentation models, with the segmentation precision, recall and mean intersection over union being 0.959, 0.943 and 0.906, respectively. In endpoints detection, the distance error and angle error of endpoints positioning based on ellipse fitting are 39.8 pixels and 4.3°, and the classification accuracy of endpoints based on ResNet is 0.92. The proposed PSP-Ellipse method makes a great improvement compared with two kinds of keypoint regression method based on ResNet and UNet. Orchard picking experiments verified that the method proposed in this paper is effective. Wind turbine energy generators operate in a variety of environments and often under harsh operational conditions, which can result in the mechanical failure of wind turbines. In order to ensure the efficient operation of wind turbines, the detection of any abnormality in the mechanics is particularly important. In this paper, a method for detecting abnormalities in the bearings of wind turbine energy generators, based on the cascade deep learning model, is proposed. First, data on the mechanics of wind turbine generators were collected, and the correlation between the data was studied in order to select the parameters related to the bearing temperature. Then, the logical relationship between the observation parameters and the target parameters was established based on a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (CNN) and a long short-term memory (LSTM) network, and the difference between the predicted temperature and the actual temperature was assessed using the root mean square error evaluation model. Finally, a numerical example was used to verify the operational data from a wind farm unit in northwest China. The results show that the CNN-LSTM model proposed in this paper can detect abnormalities earlier in the state of the main bearing than the LSTM model, and the CNN-LSTM model can detect abnormalities in the main bearing that the LSTM network cannot find. The complexity in stock index futures markets, influenced by the intricate interplay of human behavior, is characterized as nonlinearity and dynamism, contributing to significant uncertainty in long-term price forecasting. While machine learning models have demonstrated their efficacy in stock price forecasting, they rely solely on historical price data, which, given the inherent volatility and dynamic nature of financial markets, are insufficient to address the complexity and uncertainty in long-term forecasting due to the limited connection between historical and forecasting prices. This paper introduces a pioneering approach that integrates financial theory with advanced deep learning methods to enhance predictive accuracy and risk management in China's stock index futures market. The SF-Transformer model, combining spot-forward parity and the Transformer model, is proposed to improve forecasting accuracy across short and long-term horizons. Formulated upon the arbitrage-free futures pricing model, the spot-forward parity model offers variables such as stock index price, risk-free rate, and stock index dividend yield for forecasting. Our insight is that the mutual information generated by these variables has the potential to significantly reduce uncertainty in long-term forecasting. A case study on predicting major stock index futures prices in China demonstrates the superiority of the SF-Transformer model over models based on LSTM, MLP, and the stock index futures arbitrage-free pricing model, covering both short and long-term forecasting up to 28 days. Unlike existing machine learning models, the Transformer processes entire time series concurrently, leveraging its attention mechanism to discern intricate dependencies and capture long-range relationships, thereby offering a holistic understanding of time series data. An enhancement of mutual information is observed after introducing spot-forward parity in the forecasting. The variation of mutual information and ablation study results highlights the significant contributions of spot-forward parity, particularly to the long-term forecasting. Overall, these findings highlight the SF-Transformer model's efficacy in leveraging spot-forward parity for reducing uncertainty and advancing robust and comprehensive approaches in long-term stock index futures price forecasting. Before 2008, China lacked high-coverage regional surface observation data, making it difficult for the China Meteorological Administration Land Data Assimilation System (CLDAS) to directly backtrack high-resolution, high-quality land assimilation products. To address this issue, this paper proposes a deep learning model named UNET_DCA, based on the UNET architecture, which incorporates a Dual Cross-Attention module (DCA) for multiscale feature fusion by introducing Channel Cross-Attention (CCA) and Spatial Cross-Attention (SCA) mechanisms. This model focuses on the near-surface 10-m wind field and achieves spatial downscaling from 6.25 km to 1 km. We conducted training and validation using data from 2020–2021, tested with data from 2019, and performed ablation experiments to validate the effectiveness of each module. We compared the results with traditional bilinear interpolation methods and the SNCA-CLDASSD model. The experimental results show that the UNET-based model outperforms SNCA-CLDASSD, indicating that the UNET-based model captures richer information in wind field downscaling compared to SNCA-CLDASSD, which relies on sequentially stacked CNN convolution modules. UNET_CCA and UNET_SCA, incorporating cross-attention mechanisms, outperform UNET without attention mechanisms. Furthermore, UNET_DCA, incorporating both Channel Cross-Attention and Spatial Cross-Attention mechanisms, outperforms UNET_CCA and UNET_SCA, which only incorporate one attention mechanism. UNET_DCA performs best on the RMSE, MAE, and COR metrics (0.40 m/s, 0.28 m/s, 0.93), while UNET_DCA_ars, incorporating more auxiliary information, performs best on the PSNR and SSIM metrics (29.006, 0.880). Evaluation across different methods indicates that the optimal model performs best in valleys, followed by mountains, and worst in plains; it performs worse during the day and better at night; and as wind speed levels increase, accuracy decreases. Overall, among various downscaling methods, UNET_DCA and UNET_DCA_ars effectively reconstruct the spatial details of wind fields, providing a deeper exploration for the inversion of high-resolution historical meteorological grid data. Winter wheat is a significant global food crop, and it is crucial to monitor its distribution for better agricultural management, land planning, and environmental sustainability. However, the distribution style of winter wheat planting fields is not consistent due to different terrain conditions. In mountainous areas, winter wheat planting units are smaller in size and fragmented in distribution compared to plain areas. Unfortunately, most crop-mapping research based on deep learning ignores the impact of topographic relief on crop distribution and struggles to handle hilly areas effectively. In this paper, we propose a cross-modal segmentation network for winter wheat mapping in complex terrain using remote-sensing multi-temporal images and DEM data. First, we propose a diverse receptive fusion (DRF) module, which applies a deformable receptive field to optical images during the feature fusion process, allowing it to match winter wheat plots of varying scales and a fixed receptive field to the DEM to extract evaluation features at a consistent scale. Second, we developed a distributed weight attention (DWA) module, which can enhance the feature intensity of winter wheat, thereby reducing the omission rate of planting areas, especially for the small-sized regions in hilly terrain. Furthermore, to demonstrate the performance of our model, we conducted extensive experiments and ablation studies on a large-scale dataset in Lanling county, Shandong province, China. Due to the capability of multiplexing thousands of sensors on a single optical cable, ultra-weak fiber Bragg grating (UWFBG) vibration sensing technology has been utilized in monitoring the vibration response of large-scale infrastructures, particularly urban railway tracks, and the volume of the collected monitoring data can be huge with the great number of sensors. Even though the train-induced vibration responses of urban railway tracks constitute the most informative and crucial component, they comprised less than 7% of the total operational period. This is mainly attributed to the temporal sparsity of commuting trains. Consequently, the majority of the stored data consisted of low-informative environmental noise and interference excitation data, leading to an inefficient structural health monitoring (SHM) system. To address this issue, this paper introduced an adaptive monitoring strategy for railway track structures, which is capable of identifying train-load patterns by leveraging deep learning techniques. Inspired by image semantic segmentation, a U-net model with one-dimensional convolution layers (U-net-1D) was developed for the pointwise classification of vibration monitoring data. The proposed model was trained and validated using a dataset obtained from an actual urban railway track in China. Results indicated that the proposed method outperforms the traditional dual-threshold method, achieving an Intersection over Union (IoU) of 94.27% on the segmentation task of the test dataset. Research on wildlife monitoring methods is a crucial tool for the conservation of rare wildlife in China. However, the fact that rare wildlife monitoring images in field scenes are easily affected by complex scene information, poorly illuminated, obscured, and blurred limits their use. This often results in unstable recognition and low accuracy levels. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel wildlife identification model for rare animals in Giant Panda National Park (GPNP). We redesigned the C3 module of YOLOv5 using NAMAttention and the MemoryEfficientMish activation function to decrease the weight of field scene features. Additionally, we integrated the WIoU boundary loss function to mitigate the influence of low-quality images during training, resulting in the development of the NMW-YOLOv5 model. Our model achieved 97.3% for mAP50 and 83.3% for mAP50:95 in the LoTE-Animal dataset. When comparing the model with some classical YOLO models for the purpose of conducting comparison experiments, it surpasses the current best-performing model by 1.6% for mAP50:95, showcasing a high level of recognition accuracy. In the generalization ability test, the model has a low error rate for most rare wildlife species and is generally able to identify wildlife in the wild environment of the GPNP with greater accuracy. It has been demonstrated that NMW-YOLOv5 significantly enhances wildlife recognition accuracy in field environments by eliminating irrelevant features and extracting deep, effective features. Furthermore, it exhibits strong detection and recognition capabilities for rare wildlife in GPNP field environments. This could offer a new and effective tool for rare wildlife monitoring in GPNP. Frequent outbreaks of cyanobacterial blooms have become one of the most challenging water ecosystem issues and a critical concern in environmental protection. To overcome the poor stability of traditional detection algorithms, this paper proposes a method for detecting cyanobacterial blooms based on a deep-learning algorithm. An improved vegetation-index method based on a multispectral image taken by an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was adopted to extract inconspicuous spectral features of cyanobacterial blooms. To enhance the recognition accuracy of cyanobacterial blooms in complex scenes with noise such as reflections and shadows, an improved transformer model based on a feature-enhancement module and pixel-correction fusion was employed. The algorithm proposed in this paper was implemented in several rivers in China, achieving a detection accuracy of cyanobacterial blooms of more than 85%. The estimate of the proportion of the algae bloom contamination area and the severity of pollution were basically accurate. Deformation can effectively reflect the structural state of concrete dams and, thus, establishing na accurate concrete dam deformation prediction model is important for dam health monitoring and early warning strategies. To address the problem that the spatial coordinates introduced in the traditional multi-point deformation prediction model of dams not being able to accurately and efficiently reflect the spatial correlation of multiple-measuring points, a 2D-1D-CNN model is proposed which expresses the spatial correlation between each measuring point through spatial feature vectors, replacing the spatial coordinates in the traditional multi-point model. First, the spatial feature vector is extracted from the historical spatio-temporal panel series of deformation values of measuring points via a Two-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (2D-CNN); second, the vector is combined with the environmental impact factor of dam deformation to form the final input factor of fused spatial features; and, thirdly, this vector is combined with the environmental impact factors of dam deformation to form the final input factor of fused spatial features, and the non-linear linkage between the factors and the measured displacement values is constructed by the efficient feature processing capability of a One-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1D-CNN) to obtain the prediction results. Finally, the actual monitoring data of a concrete dam in China are used as an example to verify the validity of the model. Weather forecasting requires a comprehensive analysis of various types of meteorology data, and with the wide application of deep learning in various fields, deep learning has proved to have powerful feature extraction capabilities. In this paper, from the viewpoint of an image semantic segmentation problem, a deep learning framework based on semantic segmentation is proposed to nowcast Cloud-to-Ground and Intra-Cloud lightning simultaneously within an hour. First, a dataset with spatiotemporal features is constructed using radar echo reflectivity data and lightning observation data. More specifically, each sample in the dataset consists of the past half hour of observations. Then, a Light3DUnet is presented based on 3D U-Net. The three-dimensional structured network can extract spatiotemporal features, and the encoder–decoder structure and the skip connection can handle small targets and recover more details. Due to the sparsity of lightning observations, a weighted cross-loss function was used to evaluate network performance. Finally, Light3DUnet was trained using the dataset to predict Cloud-to-Ground and Intra-Cloud lightning in the next hour. We evaluated the prediction performance of the network using a real-world dataset from middle China. The results show that Light3DUnet has a good ability to nowcast IC and CG lightning. Meanwhile, due to the spatial position coupling of IC and CG on a two-dimensional plane, predictions from summing the probabilistic prediction matrices will be augmented to obtain accurate prediction results for total flashes. In recent years, with the development of pelagic fishing, the working environment and monitoring of crew (squid jigger) members have become increasingly important. However, traditional methods of pelagic human observers suffer from high costs, low coverage, poor timeliness, and susceptibility to subjective factors. In contrast, the Electronic Monitoring System (EMS) has advantages such as continuous operation under various weather conditions; more objective, transparent, and efficient data; and less interference with fishing operations. This paper shows how the 3DCNN model, LSTM+ResNet model, and TimeSformer model are applied to video-classification tasks, and for the first time, they are applied to an EMS. In addition, this paper tests and compares the application effects of the three models on video classification, and discusses the advantages and challenges of using them for video recognition. Through experiments, we obtained the accuracy and relevant indicators of video recognition using different models. The research results show that when NUM_FRAMES is set to 8, the LSTM+ResNet-50 model has the best performance, with an accuracy of 88.47%, an F 1 score of 0.8881, and an m a p score of 0.8133. Analyzing the EMS for pelagic fishing can improve China's performance level and management efficiency in pelagic fishing, and promote the development of the fishery knowledge service system and smart fishery engineering. Forest floor dead fuel moisture content (DFMC) is an important factor in the occurrence of forest fires, and predicting DFMC is important for accurate fire risk forecasting. Large areas of forest surface DFMC are difficult to predict via manual methods. In this paper, we propose an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based forest surface DFMC prediction method, in which a UAV is equipped with a multispectral camera to collect multispectral images of dead combustible material on the forest surface over a large area, combined with a deep-learning algorithm to achieve the large-scale prediction of DFMC on the forest surface. From 9 March to 23 March 2023, 5945 multispectral images and 480 sets of dead combustible samples were collected from an urban forestry demonstration site in Harbin, China, using an M300 RTK UAV with an MS600Pro multispectral camera. The multispectral images were segmented by a K-means clustering algorithm to obtain multispectral images containing only dead combustibles on the ground surface. The segmented multispectral images were then trained with the actual moisture content measured by the weighing method through the ConvNeXt deep-learning model, with 3985 images as the training set, 504 images as the validation set, and 498 images as the test set. The results showed that the MAE and RMSE of the test set are 1.54% and 5.45%, respectively, and the accuracy is 92.26% with high precision, achieving the accurate prediction of DFMC over a large range. The proposed new method for predicting DFMC via UAV multispectral cameras is expected to solve the real-time large-range accurate prediction of the moisture content of dead combustible material on the forest surface during the spring fire-prevention period in northeast China, thus providing technical support for improving the accuracy of forest fire risk-level forecasting and forest fire spread trend prediction. Bearing in mind European Green Deal assumptions regarding a significant reduction of green house emissions, electricity generation from Renewable Energy Sources (RES) is more and more important nowadays. Besides this, accurate and reliable electricity generation forecasts from RES are needed for capacity planning, scheduling, managing inertia and frequency response during contingency events. The recent three years have proved that Machine Learning (ML) models are a promising solution for forecasting electricity generation from RES. In this review, the 8-step methodology was used to find and analyze 262 relevant research articles from the Scopus database. Statistic analysis based on eight criteria (ML method used, renewable energy source involved, affiliation location, hybrid model proposed, short term prediction, author name, number of citations, and journal title) was shown. The results indicate that (1) Extreme Learning Machine and ensemble methods were the most popular methods used for electricity generation forecasting from RES in the last three years (2020–2022), (2) most of the research was carried out for wind systems, (3) the hybrid models accounted for about a third of the analyzed works, (4) most of the articles concerned short-term models, (5) the most researchers came from China, (6) and the journal which published the most papers in the analyzed field was Energies. In recent years, with the development of geological prospecting from shallow ore to deep and hidden ore, the difficulty of prospecting is increasing day by day, so the application of computer technology and new methods of geological and mineral exploration is paid more and more attention. The mining and prediction of geological prospecting information based on deep learning have become the frontier field of earth science. However, as a deep artificial intelligence algorithm, deep learning still has many problems to be solved in the big data mining and prediction of geological prospecting, such as the small number of training samples of geological and mineral images, the difficulty of building deep learning network models, and the universal applicability of deep learning models. In this paper, the training samples and convolutional neural network models suitable for geochemical element data mining are constructed to solve the above problems, and the model is successfully applied to the prediction research of gold, silver, lead and zinc polymetallic metallogenic areas in South China. Taking the Pangxidong research area in the west of Guangdong Province as an example, this paper carries out prospecting target prediction research based on a 1:50000 stream sediment survey original data. Firstly, the support vector machine (SVM) model and statistical method were used to determine the ore-related geochemical element assemblage. Secondly, the experimental data of geochemical elements were augmented and a dataset was established. Finally, ResNet-50 neural network model is used for data training and prediction research. The experimental results show that the areas numbered 9, 29, 38, 40, 95, 111, 114, 124, 144 have great metallogenic potential, and this method would be a promising tool for metallogenic prediction. By applying the ResNet-50 neural network in metallogenic prediction, it can provide a new idea for the future exploration of mineral resources. In order to verify the generality of the research method in this paper, we conducted experimental tests on the geochemical dataset of B area, another deposit research area in South China. The results show that 100% of the prediction area obtained by using the proposed method covers the known ore deposit area. Simple Summary: In response to the quantitative demand for the practical deployment of applications and the need to enhance the detection accuracy of wildlife in complex field environments in southwest China and neighboring regions, we have refined the wildlife detection algorithm based on re-parameterized convolution. This refinement is specifically targeted at addressing the challenges posed by the low quality of wildlife images captured by camera traps and the limitations of traditional object detection algorithms in feature extraction capability. To address these issues, we have introduced a series of improvement schemes. As a result of these enhancements, there has been a noteworthy improvement in both the accuracy of wildlife detection and the speed of model inference. This advancement offers a convenient and efficient method for the preliminary detection in the context of automated wildlife monitoring. To autonomously detect wildlife images captured by camera traps on a platform with limited resources and address challenges such as filtering out photos without optimal objects, as well as classifying and localizing species in photos with objects, we introduce a specialized wildlife object detector tailored for camera traps. This detector is developed using a dataset acquired by the Saola Working Group (SWG) through camera traps deployed in Vietnam and Laos. Utilizing the YOLOv6-N object detection algorithm as its foundation, the detector is enhanced by a tailored optimizer for improved model performance. We deliberately introduce asymmetric convolutional branches to enhance the feature characterization capability of the Backbone network. Additionally, we streamline the Neck and use CIoU loss to improve detection performance. For quantitative deployment, we refine the RepOptimizer to train a pure VGG-style network. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method empowers the model to achieve an 88.3% detection accuracy on the wildlife dataset in this paper. This accuracy is 3.1% higher than YOLOv6-N, and surpasses YOLOv7-T and YOLOv8-N by 5.5% and 2.8%, respectively. The model consistently maintains its detection performance even after quantization to the INT8 precision, achieving an inference speed of only 6.15 ms for a single image on the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX device. The improvements we introduce excel in tasks related to wildlife image recognition and object localization captured by camera traps, providing practical solutions to enhance wildlife monitoring and facilitate efficient data acquisition. The accurate estimation of forest aboveground biomass is of great significance for forest management and carbon balance monitoring. Remote sensing instruments have been widely applied in forest parameters inversion with wide coverage and high spatiotemporal resolution. In this paper, the capability of different remote-sensed imagery was investigated, including multispectral images (GaoFen-6, Sentinel-2 and Landsat-8) and various SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) data (GaoFen-3, Sentinel-1, ALOS-2), in aboveground forest biomass estimation. In particular, based on the forest inventory data of Hangzhou in China, the Random Forest (RF), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Convolutional Neural Networks Long Short-Term Memory Networks (CNN-LSTM) algorithms were deployed to construct the forest biomass estimation models, respectively. The estimate accuracies were evaluated under the different configurations of images and methods. The results show that for the SAR data, ALOS-2 has a higher biomass estimation accuracy than the GaoFen-3 and Sentinel-1. Moreover, the GaoFen-6 data is slightly worse than Sentinel-2 and Landsat-8 optical data in biomass estimation. In contrast with the single source, integrating multisource data can effectively enhance accuracy, with improvements ranging from 5% to 10%. The CNN-LSTM generally performs better than CNN and RF, regardless of the data used. The combination of CNN-LSTM and multisource data provided the best results in this case and can achieve the maximum R2 value of up to 0.74. It was found that the majority of the biomass values in the study area in 2018 ranged from 60 to 90 Mg/ha, with an average value of 64.20 Mg/ha. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The North China type cucumber, characterized by its dense spines and top flowers, is susceptible to damage during the grading process, affecting its market value. Moreover, traditional manual grading methods are time-consuming and labor-intensive. To address these issues, this paper proposes a cucumber quality grader based on machine vision and deep learning. In the electromechanical aspect, a novel fixed tray type grading mechanism is designed to prevent damage to the vulnerable North China type cucumbers during the grading process. In the vision grading algorithm, a new convolutional neural network is introduced named MassNet, capable of predicting cucumber mass using only a top-view image. After obtaining the cucumber mass prediction, mass grading is achieved. Experimental validation includes assessing the electromechanical performance of the grader, comparing MassNet with different models in predicting cucumber mass, and evaluating the online grading performance of the integrated algorithm. Experimental results indicate that the designed cucumber quality grader achieves a maximum capacity of 2.3 t/hr. In comparison with AlexNet, MobileNet, and ResNet, MassNet demonstrates superior cucumber mass prediction, with a MAPE of 3.9% and RMSE of 6.7 g. In order to address the challenges posed by elevated manual labor costs and limited automation in traditional log diameter grading and sorting processes, this paper centers on the design and research of an intelligent log diameter grading and sorting line utilizing machine vision. The study focuses on logs with smaller diameters located in Fujian province, China. By analyzing production requirements, the study formulates the structure of the feeding, alignment, detection, and sorting zones to fulfill sorting functions. Using the YOLOv5 model, the system achieves accurate log end face positioning, and the diameter is computed through a designated algorithm. The operational process of the system is examined, and the control logic governing the production line is elucidated. Evaluating the practical performance of the production line, the study assesses the accuracy of diameter recognition, precision in grading, and operational efficiency. The results reveal that the absolute error in diameter detection for the sorting line averages 1.12 mm, with sorting accuracy exceeding 95%. The sorting line can automatically categorize logs with diameters ranging from 60 mm to 300 mm and lengths ranging from 2 m to 6 m, achieving an annual sorting capacity of 120,000 to 130,000 cubic meters. In the context of global sustainable development, solar energy is very widely used. The installed capacity of photovoltaic panels in countries around the world, especially in China, is increasing steadily and rapidly. In order to obtain accurate information about photovoltaic panels and provide data support for the macro-control of the photovoltaic industry, this paper proposed a hierarchical information extraction method, including positioning information and shape information, and carried out photovoltaic panel distribution mapping. This method is suitable for large-scale centralized photovoltaic power plants based on multi-source satellite remote sensing images. This experiment takes the three northwest provinces of China as the research area. First, a deep learning scene classification model, the EfficientNet-B5 model, is used to locate the photovoltaic power plants on 16-m spatial resolution images. This step obtains the area that contains or may contain photovoltaic panels, greatly reducing the study area with an accuracy of 99.97%. Second, a deep learning semantic segmentation model, the U2-Net model, is used to precisely locate photovoltaic panels on 2-m spatial resolution images. This step achieves the exact extraction results of the photovoltaic panels from the area obtained in the previous step, with an accuracy of 97.686%. This paper verifies the superiority of a hierarchical information extraction method in terms of accuracy and efficiency through comparative experiments with DeepLabV3+, U-Net, SegNet, and FCN8s. This meaningful work identified 180 centralized photovoltaic power plants in the study area. Additionally, this method makes full use of the characteristics of different remote sensing data sources. The analysis of marine environmental parameters plays a significant role in various aspects, including sea surface target detection, the monitoring of the marine ecological environment, marine meteorology and disaster forecasting, and the monitoring of internal waves in the ocean. In particular, for sea surface target detection, the accurate and high-resolution input of marine environmental parameters is crucial for multi-scale sea surface modeling and the prediction of sea clutter characteristics. In this paper, based on the low-resolution wind speed, significant wave height, and wave period data provided by ECMWF for the surrounding seas of China (specified latitude and longitude range), a deep learning model based on a residual structure is proposed. By introducing an attention module, the model effectively addresses the poor modeling performance of traditional methods like nearest neighbor interpolation and linear interpolation at the edge positions in the image. Experimental results demonstrate that with the proposed approach, when the spatial resolution of wind speed increases from 0.5° to 0.25°, the results achieve a mean square error (MSE) of 0.713, a peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of 49.598, and a structural similarity index measure (SSIM) of 0.981. When the spatial resolution of the significant wave height increases from 1° to 0.5°, the results achieve a MSE of 1.319, a PSNR of 46.928, and an SSIM of 0.957. When the spatial resolution of the wave period increases from 1° to 0.5°, the results achieve a MSE of 2.299, a PSNR of 44.515, and an SSIM of 0.940. The proposed method can generate high-resolution marine environmental parameter data for the surrounding seas of China at any given moment, providing data support for subsequent sea surface modeling and for the prediction of sea clutter characteristics. Bone age assessment (BAA) is a typical clinical technique for diagnosing endocrine and metabolic diseases in children's development. Existing deep learning-based automatic BAA models are trained on the Radiological Society of North America dataset (RSNA) from Western populations. However, due to the difference in developmental process and BAA standards between Eastern and Western children, these models cannot be applied to bone age prediction in Eastern populations. To address this issue, this paper collects a bone age dataset based on the East Asian populations for model training. Nevertheless, it is laborious and difficult to obtain enough X-ray images with accurate labels. In this paper, we employ ambiguous labels from radiology reports and transform them into Gaussian distribution labels of different amplitudes. Furthermore, we propose multi-branch attention learning with ambiguous labels network (MAAL-Net). MAAL-Net consists of a hand object location module and an attention part extraction module to discover the informative regions of interest (ROIs) based only on image-level labels. Extensive experiments on both the RSNA dataset and the China Bone Age (CNBA) dataset demonstrate that our method achieves competitive results with the state-of-the-arts, and performs on par with experienced physicians in children's BAA tasks. Extracting high-accuracy landslide areas using deep learning methods from high spatial resolution remote sensing images is a hot topic in current research. However, the existing deep learning algorithms are affected by background noise and landslide scale effects during the extraction process, leading to poor feature extraction effects. To address this issue, this paper proposes an improved mask regions-based convolutional neural network (Mask R-CNN) model to identify the landslide distribution in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) images. The improvement of the model mainly includes three aspects: (1) an attention mechanism of the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) is added to the backbone residual neural network (ResNet). (2) A bottom-up channel is added to the feature pyramidal network (FPN) module. (3) The region proposal network (RPN) is replaced by guided anchoring (GA-RPN). Sanming City, China was selected as the study area for the experiments. The experimental results show that the improved model has a recall of 91.4% and an accuracy of 92.6%, which is 12.9% and 10.9% higher than the original Mask R-CNN model, respectively, indicating that the improved model is more effective in landslide extraction. Simple Summary: Poultry farming is an important part of China's agriculture system. The automatic estimation of poultry posture can help to analyze the movement, behavior, and even health of poultry. In this study, a poultry pose-estimation system was designed, which realized the automatic pose estimation of a single broiler chicken using a multi-part detection method. The experimental results show that this method can obtain better pose-estimation results for a single broiler chicken with respect to precision, recall, and F1 score. The pose-estimation system designed in this study provides a new means to provide help for poultry pose/behavior researchers in the future. Poultry pose estimation is a prerequisite for evaluating abnormal behavior and disease prediction in poultry. Accurate pose-estimation enables poultry producers to better manage their poultry. Because chickens are group-fed, how to achieve automatic poultry pose recognition has become a problematic point for accurate monitoring in large-scale farms. To this end, based on computer vision technology, this paper uses a deep neural network (DNN) technique to estimate the posture of a single broiler chicken. This method compared the pose detection results with the Single Shot MultiBox Detector (SSD) algorithm, You Only Look Once (YOLOV3) algorithm, RetinaNet algorithm, and Faster_R-CNN algorithm. Preliminary tests show that the method proposed in this paper achieves a 0.0128 standard deviation of precision and 0.9218 ± 0.0048 of confidence (95%) and a 0.0266 standard deviation of recall and 0.8996 ± 0.0099 of confidence (95%). By successfully estimating the pose of broiler chickens, it is possible to facilitate the detection of abnormal behavior of poultry. Land desertification is one of the serious ecological and environmental problems facing mankind today, which threatens the survival and development of human society. China is one of the countries with the most serious land desertification problems in the world. Accurately grasping the distribution and area of cotton for agricultural irrigation scheduling, intensive and efficient management of water resources, and yield estimation in arid and semiarid regions is of great significance. In this paper, taking the Xinjiang Shihezi oasis agriculture region as the study area, extracting the spectroscopic characterization (R, G, B, panchromatic), texture feature (entropy, mean, variance, contrast, homogeneity, angular second moment, correlation, and dissimilarity) and characteristics of vegetation index (normalized difference vegetation index/NDVI, ratio vegetation index/DVI, difference vegetation index/RVI) in the cotton flowering period before and after based on GF-6 image data, four models such as the random forests (RF) and deep learning approach (U-Net, DeepLabV3+ network, Deeplabv3+ model based on attention mechanism) were used to identify cotton and to compare their accuracies. The results show that the deep learning model is better than that of the random forest model. In all the deep learning models with three kinds of feature sets, the recognition accuracy and credibility of the DeepLabV3+ model based on the attention mechanism are the highest, the overall recognition accuracy of cotton is 98.23%, and the kappa coefficient is 96.11. Using the same Deeplabv3+ model based on an attention mechanism with different input feature sets (all features and only spectroscopic characterization), the identification accuracy of the former is much higher than that of the latter. As the largest developing country, China has permanently attached great importance to cultivated land protection. However, due to the different rules of cultivated land identification in the second and third national land surveys, the cultivated land area in the two surveys has changed greatly. Some agricultural lands in the south, such as plantations, forests, grasslands, aquaculture ponds, etc., belonged to cultivated land during the second survey, but they were identified as non-cultivated land in the third national land survey. This change has led to a sharp reduction in the area of cultivated land in some places. In order to calculate the actual change in the area of cultivated land since the second survey and provide a reasonable basis for the standard of cultivated land protection, this paper takes Gaochun District, a developed area in China, as an example; interprets the images of the second national land survey period with the deep learning network HRNet; and compares the results with the second and third national land survey rules. The results show that the actual reduction of cultivated land in Gaochun District in the past ten years accounts for 35.1% of the reduction of cultivated land in the two land surveys, while the reduction of cultivated land caused by the change of cultivated land identification rules accounts for 64.9% of the reduction of cultivated land in the two land surveys, indicating that the significant reduction in local cultivated land was mainly caused by the changes in the rules, and these cultivated land reduction behaviors existed before the second survey. The rapid and accurate extraction of wide-area coseismic landslide locations is critical in earthquake emergencies. At present, the extraction of coseismic landslides is mainly based on post-earthquake site investigation or the interpretation of human–computer interactions based on remote sensing images. However, the identification efficiency is low, which seriously delays the earthquake emergency response. On the basis of the available multisource and multiscale remote sensing data, numerous studies have been carried out on the methods of coseismic landslide extraction, such as pixel analysis, object-oriented analysis, change detection, and machine learning. However, the effectiveness of coseismic landslide extraction was low in wide areas with complex topographic and geomorphic backgrounds. Therefore, this paper offers a comprehensive study of the factors influencing coseismic landslides and researches rapid and accurate wide-area coseismic landslide extraction methods with multisource remote sensing and geoscience technology. These techniques include digital elevation modeling (DEM) and its derived slopes and aspects. An embedded multichannel spectral–topographic feature fusion model for coseismic landslide extraction based on DeepLab V3+ is proposed, and a knowledge-enhanced deep learning information extraction method integrating geological knowledge is formed. Using the Jiuzhaigou Ms7.0 earthquake (seismic intensity VIII) in Sichuan Province, China, a comparison of landslide extraction models and strategies is carried out. The results show that the model proposed in this paper achieves the best balance in the accuracy and efficiency of wide-area extractions. Using multiple feature data of coseismic landslides, the problem of mixed pixels is solved. The rate of the misidentification of landslides as clouds, snow, buildings, and roads is significantly lower than in other methods. The identified landslide boundaries are smoother and more accurate, and the connectivity is better. Compared with other methods, ours can more accurately eliminate landslides not triggered by the Jiuzhaigou earthquake. Day by day pollution in cities is increasing due to urbanization. One of the biggest challenges posed by the rapid migration of inhabitants into cities is increased air pollution. Sustainable Development Goal 11 indicates that 99 percent of the world's urban population breathes polluted air. In such a trend of urbanization, predicting the concentrations of pollutants in advance is very important. Predictions of pollutants would help city administrations to take timely measures for ensuring Sustainable Development Goal 11. In data engineering, imputation and the removal of outliers are very important steps prior to forecasting the concentration of air pollutants. For pollution and meteorological data, missing values and outliers are critical problems that need to be addressed. This paper proposes a novel method called multiple iterative imputation using autoencoder-based long short-term memory (MIA-LSTM) which uses iterative imputation using an extra tree regressor as an estimator for the missing values in multivariate data followed by an LSTM autoencoder for the detection and removal of outliers present in the dataset. The preprocessed data were given to a multivariate LSTM for forecasting PM2.5 concentration. This paper also presents the effect of removing outliers and missing values from the dataset as well as the effect of imputing missing values in the process of forecasting the concentrations of air pollutants. The proposed method provides better results for forecasting with a root mean square error (RMSE) value of 9.8883. The obtained results were compared with the traditional gated recurrent unit (GRU), 1D convolutional neural network (CNN), and long short-term memory (LSTM) approaches for a dataset of the Aotizhonhxin area of Beijing in China. Similar results were observed for another two locations in China and one location in India. Traffic flow prediction is a significant component for the new generation intelligent transportation. In the field of air transportation, accurate prediction of airport flight flow can help airlines schedule flights and provide a decision-making basis for airport resource allocation. With the help of Deep Learning technology, this paper focuses on the characteristics of flight flow easily disturbed by environmental factors, studies the spatiotemporal dependence between flight flows, and predicts the spatiotemporal distribution of flight flows from the airport network level. We proposed a deep learning architecture named ATFSTNP, which combining the residual neural network (ResNet), graph convolutional network (GCN), and long short-term memory (LSTM). Based big data analytics of air traffic management, this method takes the spatiotemporal causal relationship between weather impact and flight flow as the core, and deeply mines the complex spatiotemporal relationship of flight flow. The model's methodologies are improved from the practical application level, and extensive experiments conducted on the China's flight operation dataset. The results illustrate that the improved model has significant advantages in predicting the flight flow under weather affect. Even in the complex and variable external environment, the model can still accurately predict the spatiotemporal distribution of the airport network flight flow, with strong robustness. In this paper, a gated recurrent unit–deep neural network (GRU-DNN) model integrated with multimodal feature embedding (MFE) is developed to evaluate the real-time risk of hazmat road transportation based on various types of data for contributing factors. MFE was incorporated into the framework of a deep learning model in which discrete variables, continuous variables, and images were uniformly embedded. GRU is a pre-trained sub-model, and the DNN is able to directly use the relative structure and weights of the GRU, improving the poor classification and recognition results due to insufficient samples. Additionally, the model is trained and validated based on hazmat road transportation database consisting of 2100 samples with 20 real-time contributing factors and four risk levels in China. The accuracy (ACC), precision (PR), recall (RE), F1-score (F1), and areas under receiver-operating-characteristic curves (AUC) of the proposed model and other commonly used models are compared as performance measurements in numerical examples. Finally, Carlini & Wagner attack and three defenses of adversarial training, dimensionality reduction and prediction similarity are proposed in the training to improve the robustness of the model, alleviating the impact of noise and error on small-sized samples. The results demonstrate that the average ACC of the model reaches 93.51% and 87.6% on the training and validation sets, respectively. The prediction of accidents resulting in injury is the most accurate, followed by fatal accidents. Combined with the RE of 89.0%, the model exhibits excellent performance. In addition, the proposed model outperforms other widely used models based on the overall comparisons of ACC, AUC, F1 and PR-RE curve. Populus euphratica and Tamarix chinensis hold significant importance in wind prevention, sand fixation, and biodiversity conservation. The precise extraction of these species can offer technical assistance for vegetation studies. This paper focuses on the Populus euphratica and Tamarix chinensis located within Daliyabuyi, utilizing PointCNN as the primary research method. After decorrelating and stretching the images, deep learning techniques were applied, successfully distinguishing between various vegetation types, thereby enhancing the precision of vegetation information extraction. On the validation dataset, the PointCNN model showcased a high degree of accuracy, with the respective regular accuracy rates for Populus euphratica and Tamarix chinensis being 92.106% and 91.936%. In comparison to two-dimensional deep learning models, the classification accuracy of the PointCNN model is superior. Additionally, this study extracted individual tree information for the Populus euphratica, such as tree height, crown width, crown area, and crown volume. A comparative analysis with the validation data attested to the accuracy of the extracted results. Furthermore, this research concluded that the batch size and block size in deep learning model training could influence classification outcomes. In summary, compared to 2D deep learning models, the point cloud deep learning approach of the PointCNN model exhibits higher accuracy and reliability in classifying and extracting information for poplars and tamarisks. Road extraction is crucial in urban planning, rescue operations, and military applications. Compared to traditional methods, using deep learning for road extraction from remote sensing images has demonstrated unique advantages. However, previous convolutional neural networks (CNN)-based road extraction methods have had limited receptivity and failed to effectively capture long-distance road features. On the other hand, transformer-based methods have good global information-capturing capabilities, but face challenges in extracting road edge information. Additionally, existing excellent road extraction methods lack validation for the Chinese region. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel road extraction model called the global–local information fusion network (GLNet). In this model, the global information extraction (GIE) module effectively integrates global contextual relationships, the local information extraction (LIE) module accurately captures road edge information, and the information fusion (IF) module combines the output features from both global and local branches to generate the final extraction results. Further, a series of experiments on two different Chinese road datasets with geographic robustness demonstrate that our model outperforms the state-of-the-art deep learning models for road extraction tasks in China. On the CHN6-CUG dataset, the overall accuracy (OA) and intersection over union (IoU) reach 97.49% and 63.27%, respectively, while on the RDCME dataset, OA and IoU reach 98.73% and 84.97%, respectively. Going beyond previous work, this paper presents a systematic literature review that explores the deployment of satellites, drones, and ground-based sensors for yield prediction in agriculture. It covers multiple aspects of the topic, including crop types, key sensor platforms, data analysis techniques, and performance in estimating yield. To this end, datasets from Scopus and Web of Science were analyzed, resulting in the full review of 269 out of 1429 retrieved publications. Our study revealed that China (93 articles, >1800 citations) and the USA (58 articles, >1600 citations) are prominent contributors in this field; while satellites were the primary remote sensing platform (62%), followed by airborne (30%) and proximal sensors (27%). Additionally, statistical methods were used in 157 articles, and model-based approaches were utilized in 60 articles, while machine learning and deep learning were employed in 142 articles and 62 articles, respectively. When comparing methods, machine learning and deep learning methods exhibited high accuracy in crop yield prediction, while other techniques also demonstrated success, contingent on the specific crop platform and method employed. The findings of this study serve as a comprehensive roadmap for researchers and farmers, enabling them to make data-driven decisions and optimize agricultural practices, paving the way towards a fully digitized yield prediction. Fossil fuel usage has a great impact on the environment and global climate. Promoting new energy vehicles (NEVs) is essential for green and low-carbon transportation and supporting sustainable development. Lithium-ion power batteries (LIPBs) are crucial energy-storage components in NEVs, directly influencing their performance and safety. Therefore, exploring LIPB reliability technologies has become a vital research area. This paper aims to comprehensively summarize the progress in LIPB reliability research. First, we analyze existing reliability studies on LIPB components and common estimation methods. Second, we review the state-estimation methods used for accurate battery monitoring. Third, we summarize the commonly used optimization methods in fault diagnosis and lifetime prediction. Fourth, we conduct a bibliometric analysis. Finally, we identify potential challenges for future LIPB research. Through our literature review, we find that: (1) model-based and data-driven approaches are currently more commonly used in state-estimation methods; (2) neural networks and deep learning are the most prevalent methods in fault diagnosis and lifetime prediction; (3) bibliometric analysis indicates a high interest in LIPB reliability technology in China compared to other countries; (4) this research needs further development in overall system reliability, research on real-world usage scenarios, and advanced simulation and modeling techniques. This study introduces an advanced BERT-LDA model to conduct topic-sentiment analysis within online health communities. It examines nine primary categories of user information requirements: causes, symptoms and manifestations, examination and diagnosis, treatment, self-management and regulation, impact, prevention, social life, and knowledge acquisition. By analyzing the distribution of positive and negative sentiments across each topic, the correlation between various health information demands and emotional expressions is investigated. The model established in this paper integrates BERT's semantic comprehension with LDA's topic modeling capabilities, enhancing the accuracy of topic identification and sentiment analysis while providing a more comprehensive evaluation of user information demands. In recent years, garbage classification has become a hot topic in China, and legislation on garbage classification has been proposed. Proper garbage classification and improving the recycling rate of garbage can protect the environment and save resources. In order to effectively achieve garbage classification, a lightweight garbage object detection model based on deep learning techniques was designed and developed in this study, which can locate and classify garbage objects in real-time using embedded devices. Focusing on the problems of low accuracy and poor real-time performances in garbage classification, we proposed a lightweight garbage object detection model, YOLOG (YOLO for garbage detection), which is based on accurate local receptive field dilation and can run on embedded devices at high speed and with high performance. YOLOG improves on YOLOv4 in three key ways, including the design of DCSPResNet with accurate local receptive field expansion based on dilated–deformable convolution, network structure simplification, and the use of new activation functions. We collected the domestic garbage image dataset, then trained and tested the model on it. Finally, in order to compare the performance difference between YOLOG and existing state-of-the-art algorithms, we conducted comparison experiments using a uniform data set training model. The experimental results showed that YOLOG achieved A P 0.5 of 94.58% and computation of 6.05 Gflops, thus outperformed YOLOv3, YOLOv4, YOLOv4-Tiny, and YOLOv5s in terms of comprehensive performance indicators. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected the mobility of individuals everywhere. This has been especially true in China, where many restrictions, including lockdowns, have been widely applied. This paper discusses the impact of the pandemic on walkability, an important factor in promoting urban neighborhoods, in the main urban area of Xi'an, China, one of China's four great ancient capitals. Based on the street view data obtained before and after the pandemic, the paper quantitatively compares changes in specific components of selected streetscapes through a deep learning (DL) street view analysis. The aim is to identify the impact of the pandemic on walkability and determine the elements that influence increased walkability in Xi'an's historical area, using a walkability evaluation model based on a regression analysis involving three factors (streetscape components, walkability check scores, and street connectivity of space syntax for every image). Although Xi'an's urban structure did not change significantly, the pandemic has clearly impacted street vitality, especially in terms of reducing pedestrian flow and commercial value. Based on study results, the street environment has great room for improvement, especially in the city's historical blocks, by reconsidering safety measures to pedestrians and the important role of atmospheric aspects on the streets. In this paper, we forecast the regional total electron content (TEC) over China (0–60° N, 70–140° E) two hours in advance using a deep learning method called pix2pixhd that is based on Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN). We use the International GNSS Service (IGS) TEC maps over China during the 2003–2018 period for training and divide the data into three parts: a training set (2003–2013), a test set (2014–2017), and a validation set (2018). We evaluate the prediction effect of our model using Root Mean Square Error and correlation coefficient and compare our model with IRI-2016. The result demonstrates that our model shows a good performance for TEC prediction in China. Under different geomagnetic and solar activity conditions, the performance of our model is always better than IRI-2016. Analyzing the average difference map between the output of our model and the target IGS TEC map (+2 h), our model behaves well in China including the low-latitude region. In addition, our model behaves better during quiet time and high solar activity years. The successful application of pix2pixhd in forecasting the regional TEC maps over China demonstrates that deep learning methods can solve many geoscience problems, especially for ionospheric parameter forecasting. Production measurement plays a vital role in the daily management of unconventional oil wells. It enables reservoir managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of reservoir changes and facilitates dynamic analysis and scientific development plans for the unconventional oil field. This paper focuses on accurately measuring well production by tracking over 300 sucker rod pumps (SRPs) in an experimental area of an oil field. The study utilizes easily obtainable continuous electrical parameters and real-time well production as training parameters. Accurate identification of the top and bottom dead points of the power curve is crucial in converting the power curve into the SRP's dynamometer card. To achieve this, FFT is employed to extract single-period data from multi-period data. Subsequently, the top and bottom dead points are identified. The SRP electric power curve and corresponding real-time production data are segregated into samples based on the stroke cycle time, resulting in 200,000 valid samples. Deep learning techniques are then applied to classify the production state of pumping wells. FFT and statistical feature extraction are performed on the electric curve, and deep learning is utilized with the production parameters as input vectors and the well fluid production as output results. Through extensive training, a big-data-based SRP production calculation model is established, and subsequently used to calculate the production of SRPs in the experimental area of northeastern China's oil field. The model is validated against actual production data. For low-yield wells with a daily production less than 6 m 3 /d, the model error remains below 0.5 m 3 /d. Additionally, the relative error for high-yield wells surpassing 6 m 3 /d stays under 10%, meeting the expectations of managers. This big data production measurement model serves as a valuable tool for operators to optimize the production system and detect oil well faults.
