In this paper we show that Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability holds for Pexiderized additive functional equations in the framework of intuitionistic fuzzy Banach spaces. In this paper, basic notions of von Neumann algebra and its direct analogous in the realm of groupoids and measure spaces have been considered. By recovering the action of a locally compact Lie group from a crossed product of a von Neumann algebra, other proof of one of a geometric proposition of O'Neil and an extension of it has been proposed. Also, using the advanced exploration of nilmanifolds in measure spaces and their corresponding automorphisms (Lie algebraic derivations) a different proof of an analytic proposition of Gordon and Mao has been attained. The exponentiated Pareto type I distribution is used as a model for the distribution of city populations within a given area. In this paper, we have considered the dual generalized order statistics from this distribution. We obtained exact explicit expressions as well as recurrence relations for single and product moments of dual generalized order statistics from generalized Pareto distribution. Then, we use these results, we have tabulated the first four moments, skewness and kurtosis of order statistics from samples of sizes up to 10 for various values of the parameters. Ranking of fuzzy numbers play an important role in decision making, optimization, forecasting etc. Fuzzy numbers must be ranked before an action is taken by a decision maker. Cheng (A new approach for ranking fuzzy numbers by distance method. Fuzzy Sets and Systems 95 (1998) 307-317) pointed out that the proof of the statement "Ranking of generalized fuzzy numbers does not depend upon the height of fuzzy numbers" stated by Liou and Wang (Ranking fuzzy numbers with integral value. Fuzzy Sets and Systems 50 (1992) 247-255) is not ture. In this paper, by giving an alternative proof it is proved that the above statement is correct. Also with the help of several counter examples it is proved that the results proposed by Chen and Chen (Fuzzy risk analysis based on ranking generalized fuzzy numbers with different heights and different spreads. Expert Systems with Applications 36 (2009) 6833-6842) are not accurate. The main aim of this paper is to modify the Liou and Wang approach for the ranking of L-R type generalized fuzzy numbers. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that the proposed approach provide the correct ordering of generalized and normal fuzzy numbers and also the proposed approach is very simple and easy to apply in the real life problems. This paper deals with the development of an inventory model for non-instantaneous deteriorating items. This paper investigates an instantaneous replenishment inventory model for the above type of items under cost minimization, considering stock-dependent consumption rate under inflation and time discounting over a finite planning horizon. In the proposed model, shortages are allowed and partially backlogged. We also show that the total cost function is convex. To determine the optimal order quantity and the optimal interval of the total cost function, a solution algorithm is presented. Finally, the model is illustrated with the help of numerical examples. There are three standard weight (distance) functions on a linear code viz. the Hamming weight (distance), the Lee weight (distance) and the Euclidean weight (distance). Plotkin [11] obtained an upper bound on the minimum weight (distance) of a code with respect to the Hamming weight (distance). A.D. Wyner and R.L. Graham [13] proved Plotkin's bound for Lee metric codes which was also conjectured by Lee [10]. The first author also obtained another proof of Plotkin's bound with the Lee weight by a different approach [3]. In this paper, we obtain Plotkin's bound for codes equipped with the Euclidean weight function. The Euclidean weight is useful in connection with the lattice constructions where the minimum norm of vectors in the lattice is related to the minimum Euclidean weight of the code [2]. Using Plotkin's bound, we obtain a bound on the number of parity check digits required to achieve the minimum Euclidean square distance at least d² in a linear code. We also make a comparative study of the bounds for the Euclidean codes obtained in this paper with the corresponding bounds for the Hamming and Lee weight codes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, the (ψ γ)--stability of the quadratic functional equation is considered on arbitrary groups. It is proved that every group can be embedded into a group in which the quadratic equation is (ψ γ)- stable. Further, it is shown that the quadratic functional equation is (ψ γ)-stable on all abelian groups and some non-abelian groups such as UT(3, K), T(3, K) and T(2, K), where K is an arbitrary field. In this paper, we have presented a family of fourth order iterative method and another family of sixth order iterative method without memory based on power mean using weight functions. The family of fourth order methods given here is optimal in the sense of Kung-Traub hypothesis. In terms of computational point of view, our first method require three evaluations (one function and two first derivatives) per iteration to get fourth order and the second method require four evaluations (two functions and two derivatives) per iteration to get sixth order. Hence, these methods have high efficiency indices 1.5874 and 1.5651 respectively. Few existing methods can be regarded as particular cases of our family of methods. The theory of second order differential subordination of S. S. Miller and P. T. Mocanu [Differential Subordinations, Dekker, New York, 2000] was recently extended to functions with fixed initial coefficient by R. M. Ali, S. Nagpal and V.
