Different from normal-hearing (NH) listeners, speech recognition thresholds (SRTs) in cochlear implant (CI) users are typically poorer with dynamic maskers than with speech-spectrum noise (SSN). The effectiveness of different masker types may depend on their acoustic and linguistic characteristics. The goal of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness of different masker types with varying acoustic and linguistic properties in CI and NH listeners. SRTs were measured with nine maskers, including SSN, dynamic nonspeech maskers, and speech maskers with or without lexical content. Results showed that CI users performed significantly poorer than NH listeners with all maskers. NH listeners were much more sensitive to masker type than were CI users. Relative to SSN, NH listeners experienced significant masking release for most maskers, which could be well explained by the glimpse proportion, especially for maskers containing similar cues related to fundamental frequency or lexical content. In contrast, CI users generally experienced negative masking release. There was significant intercorrelation among the maskers for CI users' SRTs but much less so for NH listeners' SRTs. Principal component analysis showed that one factor explained 72% of the variance in CI users' SRTs but only 55% in NH listeners' SRTs across all maskers. Taken together, the results suggest that SRTs in SSN largely accounted for the variability in CI users' SRTs with dynamic maskers. Human detection is the task of locating all instances of human beings present in an image, which has a wide range of applications across various fields, including search and rescue, surveillance, and autonomous driving. The rapid advancement of computer vision and deep learning technologies has brought significant improvements in human detection. However, for more advanced applications like healthcare, human–computer interaction, and scene understanding, it is crucial to obtain information beyond just the localization of humans. These applications require a deeper understanding of human behavior and state to enable effective and safe interactions with humans and the environment. This study presents a comprehensive benchmark, the Common Human Postures (CHP) dataset, aimed at promoting a more informative and more encouraging task beyond mere human detection. The benchmark dataset comprises a diverse collection of images, featuring individuals in different environments, clothing, and occlusions, performing a wide range of postures and activities. The benchmark aims to enhance research in this challenging task by designing novel and precise methods specifically for it. The CHP dataset consists of 5250 human images collected from different scenes, annotated with bounding boxes for seven common human poses. Using this well-annotated dataset, we have developed two baseline detectors, namely CHP-YOLOF and CHP-YOLOX, building upon two identity-preserved human posture detectors: IPH-YOLOF and IPH-YOLOX. We evaluate the performance of these baseline detectors through extensive experiments. The results demonstrate that these baseline detectors effectively detect human postures on the CHP dataset. The development and change in the other-race effect (ORE) in different age groups have always been a focus of researchers. Previous studies have mainly focused on the influence of maturity of life (from infancy to early adulthood) on the ORE, while few researchers have explored the ORE in older people. Therefore, this study used behavioral and eye movement techniques to explore the influence of age on the ORE and the visual scanning pattern of Han subjects recognizing own- and other-ethnicity faces. All participants were asked to complete a study-recognition task for faces, and the behavioral results showed that the ORE of elderly Han subjects was significantly lower than that of young Han subjects. The results of eye movement showed that there were significant differences in the visual scanning pattern of young subjects in recognizing the faces of individuals of their own ethnicity and other ethnicities, which were mainly reflected in the differences in looking at the nose and mouth, while the differences were reduced in the elderly subjects. The elderly subjects used similar scanning patterns to recognize the own- and other-ethnicity faces. This indicates that as age increases, the ORE of older people in recognizing faces of those from different ethnic groups becomes weaker, and elderly subjects have more similar visual scanning patterns in recognizing faces of their own and other ethnicities. Prospective memory (PM) refers to the ability to remember to perform a planned event or activity at a specific time or situation in the future. Implementation intentions can promote a connection between PM cues and intended actions, thus improving an individual's PM performance. However, this simple and effective encoding strategy may also have negative effects. For example, an implementation intention may result in PM commission errors that occur when an individual makes a false PM response to repeated PM cues that are no longer relevant as the PM task has been completed. Existing studies have explored the effect of implementation intentions on PM commission errors under low cognitive load. However, the role of implementation intentions in promoting linkages between PM cues and actions tends to disintegrate under high cognitive loads. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the effect of implementation intentions on PM commission errors under different cognitive load conditions. In this study, 58 college students participated in a mixed experimental design of 2 (encoding methods: implementation intention, standard) × 2 (cognitive load conditions: low, high). The results showed that implementation intentions promoted PM commission errors under the low-cognitive-load condition only, and there was no difference in the performance of ongoing tasks between the implementation intention encoding and the standard encoding conditions. However, individuals in the implementation intention condition reacted more slowly when encountering previous PM cues. The results suggest that the effect of implementation intentions on PM commission errors relies upon automated processing as a whole. However, individuals in the implementation intention condition required more attentional resources to suppress the no-longer-relevant intended actions when previous PM cues appeared, supporting the dual-mechanism theory. Background: Observational studies have reported an inverse association of type 2 diabetes (T2D) with thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA). However, the causality of the association has not been established yet. The present study aims to clarify the causal relationship between T2D and TAA via a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. Methods: Causality of associations were assessed using a two-sample MR framework. Genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics were obtained for T2D, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting glucose (FG) and fasting insulin (FI) as exposures, and TAA, ascending aortic diameter (AAoD) and descending aortic diameter (DAoD) as outcomes. Four different methods (inverse variance weighted [IVW], weight median, MR-Egger and MR-PRESSO) were used to calculate causal estimates. Heterogeneity and horizontal pleiotropy were assessed using Cochran Q test and MR-Egger regression intercept, respectively. Results: Genetically predicted T2D was inversely associated with the risk of TAA (OR: 0.931, 95% CI 0.870 to 0.997, p = 0.040, IVW method) and AAoD (Beta: -0.065, 95%CI −0.099 to − 0.031, p = 1.7e−04, IVW method), but not with DAoD (p > 0.05). Genetically predicted FG level was inversely associated with AAoD (Beta: −0.273, 95% CI −0.396 to –0.150, p = 1.41e−05, IVW method) and DAoD (Beta: −0.166, 95% CI −0.281 to −0.051, p = 0.005, IVW method), but not with TAA (p > 0.05). The effect of genetically predicted HbA1c and FI on TAA, AAoD and DAoD did not reach statistical significance (p > 0.05). Conclusions: Genetic predisposition to T2D decreases the risk of TAA. The S2 subunit serves a crucial role in infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) infection, particularly in facilitating membrane fusion. Using reverse genetic techniques, mutant strains of the S2 locus exhibited substantially different syncytium-forming abilities in chick embryonic kidney cells. To determine the precise formation mechanism of syncytium, we demonstrated the co-ordinated role of Abl2 and its mediated cytoskeletal regulatory pathway within the S2 subunit. Using a combination of fluorescence quantification, RNA silencing, and protein profiling techniques, the functional role of S2 subunits in IBV-infected cells was exhaustively determined. Our findings imply that Abl2 is not the primary cytoskeletal regulator, the viral S2 component is involved in indirect regulation, and the three different viral strains activate various cytoskeletal regulatory pathways through Abl2. CRK, CRKL, ABI1, NCKAP1, and ENAH also play a role in cytoskeleton regulation. Our research provides a point of reference for the development of an intracellular regulatory network for the S2 subunit and a foundation for the rational design of antiviral drug targets against Abl2. Deep marine carbonate rocks have become one of the key targets of onshore oil and gas exploration and development for reserves replacement in China. Further geological researches of such rocks may practically facilitate the sustainable, steady and smooth development of the petroleum industry in the country. Therefore, through a deep investigation into the fundamental geological conditions of deep marine carbonate reservoirs, we found higher-than-expected resource potential therein, which may uncover large oil or gas fields. The findings were reflected in four aspects. Firstly, there are two kinds of hydrocarbon kitchens which were respectively formed by conventional source rocks and liquid hydrocarbons cracking that were detained in source rocks, and both of them can provide large-scale hydrocarbons. Secondly, as controlled by the bedding and interstratal karstification, as well as the burial and hydrothermal dolomitization, effective carbonate reservoirs may be extensively developed in the deep and ultra-deep strata. Thirdly, under the coupling action of progressive burial and annealing heating, some marine source rocks could form hydrocarbon accumulations spanning important tectonic phases, and large quantity of liquid hydrocarbons could be kept in late stage, contributing to rich oil and gas in such deep marine strata. Fourthly, large-scale uplifts were formed by the stacking of multi-episodic tectonism and oil and gas could be accumulated in three modes (i.e., stratoid large-area reservoir-forming mode of karst reservoirs in the slope area of uplift, back-flow type large-area reservoir-forming mode of buried hill weathered crust karst reservoirs, and wide-range reservoir-forming mode of reef-shoal reservoirs); groups of stratigraphic and lithologic traps were widely developed in the areas of periclinal structures of paleohighs and continental margins. In conclusion, deep marine carbonate strata in China onshore contain the conditions for widely and intensively preserving hydrocarbons, so large oil or gas fields are expected.

In real life, we are often motivated to plan things to be performed at specific times in the future. Some of these intended actions help other individuals, and thus involve time‐based prospective memory (TBPM) under prosocial motivational conditions. Children's social development is very rapid, and they have relatively stable prosocial motivation during school age. Few studies have paid attention to this issue. This study focuses on three aspects of this issue: (1) the impact of prosocial motivation on the TBPM of school‐age children, (2) whether there are sex differences in this effect, and, for the first time, (3) the processing mechanism by which prosocial motivation affects TBPM in school‐age children in the framework of the motivation cognitive model. A total of 112 elementary school students, aged between 8 and 12, participated in the experiment, using a 2 (group: prosocial motivation, control) × 2 (sex: boy, girl) between‐subjects design. The results showed that prosocial motivation can significantly reduce children's time difference of TBPM. However, we found no sex differences in the effect of prosocial motivation on TBPM in the above two indicators. With regard to the processing mechanism, we found that the prosocial motivation group paid more attention to external time information throughout the experiment. However, their internal attention and the effectiveness of attention did not improve. These results partially support the motivation cognitive model. The vehicle suspension system is considered to have tremendous potential in energy harvesting and to be applicable for improving the efficiency of energy use of the vehicle. A novel piezoelectric energy harvester (PEH) with noncontact magnetic force has the feature of low friction loss and is designed based on the vibration characteristic of the suspension system. The research comprises two main components: the motion conversion component and the energy conversion component. A screw‐nut mechanism that can convert linear vibration between the vehicle body and the wheel into rotational motion is used as the motion conversion component. The energy conversion component is a core component of the PEH; its function is to convert rotational energy into electrical energy through noncontact magnetic force and piezoelectric effect. The magnetic excitation model's credibility and the modeling method's feasibility are verified by experiment and simulation. Through vehicle field tests, the influence of the driving speed, road surface roughness, and cargo state on the harvested power is obtained. Driving on a random road, the maximum of the generated power is 24.28 W, at 60 km/h, under the laden state. Driving on a pulse road, the harvested power is 3346 W, at 30 km/h, under the unladen state. The lithology and lithofacies assemblage of shale are highly complex and heterogeneous in the continental shale formations due to rapid changes in the sedimentary environment and source material, complicating the evaluation of shale oil enrichment areas, such as the member 3 of the Shahejie Formation in the Qikou sag, Bohaibay Basin, China. We used core observations and descriptions of well F39 × 1 and performed X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, nitrogen adsorption analysis, and nuclear magnetic resonance analysis to investigate the shale lithofacies characteristics and types in member 3 of the Shahejie Formation, and their effects on shale oil enrichment. The results showed the following. (1) The lithofacies are divided into four types according to the shale's laminar structure, lithological characteristics, mineral composition, and organic matter content: thin laminar shale, thick laminar shale, massive mudstone, and argillaceous siltstone. These are divided into six subcategories. Each lithofacies has thin vertical layers. (2) The thin and thick laminar shale layers have favorable conditions for shale oil enrichment, such as a high total organic carbon content (TOC) (1.1–1.6%), many micropores (with the diameter of 0.5–2 µm) and fissures, a high residual hydrocarbon content (1.0–2.3 mg/g), and a good source-reservoir relationship, making them suitable for shale oil exploration. (3) The degree of lamina development influences the organic matter and residual hydrocarbon contents, the number of micropores, and the degree of shale oil enrichment. The offset as the average value of a variable plays an important role in signal processing and system design. Offset boosting can be realized by a non-bifurcation parameter or an initial condition. In this work, symmetric coexisting attractors with opposite polarity and a 2D hyperchaotic map with multiple modes of offset boosting are proposed, where the offset can be controlled both by the initial condition and system parameter, and as a result, multiple alternatives of offset boosting and offset competition show up. Consequently, the final offset is determined eventually by the balance of two factors. The theoretical findings are verified through the hardware experiment based on the STM32. Root rot caused by Fusarium solani is one of the major postharvest diseases limiting sweet potato production. Here, antifungal activity and the action mode of perillaldehyde (PAE) against F. solani were investigated. A PAE concentration of 0.15 mL/L in air (mL/L air) markedly inhibited the mycelial growth, spore reproduction and spore viability of F. solani. A PAE vapor of 0.25 mL/L in air could control the F. solani development in sweet potatoes during storage for 9 days at 28 °C. Moreover, the results of a flow cytometer demonstrated that PAE drove an increase in cell membrane permeability, reduction of mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in F. solani spores. Subsequently, a fluorescence microscopy assay demonstrated that PAE caused serious damage to the cell nuclei in F. solani by inducing chromatin condensation. Further, the spread plate method showed that the spore survival rate was negatively correlated with the level of ROS and nuclear damage, of which the results indicated that PAE-driven ROS accumulation plays a critical role in contributing to cell death in F. solani. In all, the results revealed a specific antifungal mechanism of PAE against F. solani, and suggest that PAE could be a useful fumigant for controlling the postharvest diseases of sweet potatoes. Objective: To investigate the effect of large vestibular aqueduct syndrome (LVAS) on middle ear sound transmission using wideband absorbance immittance (WAI). Methods: WAI results from young adult LVAS patients and normal adults were compared. Results: Averaged energy absorbance (EA) at ambient and peak pressure in the LVAS group showed differences to the normal group. Under ambient pressure, the average EA of the LVAS group was significantly higher than the normal group at frequencies 472–866 Hz and 6169–8000 Hz (p <.05) and lower at frequencies 1122–2520 Hz (p <.05). Under peak pressure, absorbance was increased at frequencies 515–728, 841, and 6169–8000 Hz (p <.05) and decreased at 1122–1374 Hz and 1587–2448 Hz (p <.05). An investigation into the effect of external auditory canal pressure on EA across frequencies in the pressure–frequency domain, showed that EA differed significantly in the low‐frequency region of 707and 1000 Hz from 0 to 200 daPa and 500 Hz at 50 daPa (p <.05). There was also a significant difference in EA between the two groups at 8000 Hz (p <.05) in the pressure range −200–300 daPa. Conclusion: WAI is a valuable tool to measure the effect of LVAS on middle ear sound transmission. LVAS has a significant effect on EA at low and mid frequencies under ambient pressure, while the frequencies affected are mainly at low frequencies when positive pressure is presented. The correlation between cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) and the outcomes of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients after endovascular therapy (EVT) remains elusive. We aimed to investigate the effect of combined white matter hyperintensities (WMH) and enlarged perivascular spaces (EPVS) as detected in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at baseline on clinical outcomes in patients with AIS who underwent EVT. AIS patients that experienced EVT were retrospectively analyzed in this single-center study. Using MRIs taken prior to EVT, we rated WMH and EPVS as the burden of CSVD and dichotomized the population into two groups: absent-to-moderate and severe. Neurological outcome was assessed at day 90 with a modified Rankin Scale (mRS). Symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH), early neurological deterioration (END), malignant cerebral edema (MCE), and hospital death were secondary outcomes. Of the 100 patients (64.0% male; mean age 63.71 ± 11.79 years), periventricular WMHs (28%), deep WMHs (41%), EPVS in basal ganglia (53%), and EPVS in centrum semiovale (73%) were observed. In addition, 69% had an absent-to-moderate total CSVD burden and 31.0% had a severe burden. The severe CSVD was not substantially linked to either the primary or secondary outcomes. Patients with AIS who underwent EVT had an elevated risk (OR: 7.89, 95% CI: 1.0, 62.53) of END if they also had EPVS. When considering WMH and EPVS together as a CSVD burden, there seemed to be no correlation between severe CSVD burden and sICH, END, or MCE following EVT for AIS patients. The new energy vehicle is a robust measure to solve the problem of global warming. However, the new energy vehicle generally has the disadvantages of short mileage and difficulty in finding public chargers. The combination of wind energy harvest and new energy vehicle can be conducive to the promotion of the new energy vehicle. This paper proposes a novel adjustable Savonius vertical axis wind turbine (SVAWT). It contains three parts: an energy absorption module, an energy recovery module, and an energy conversion module. The energy absorption module includes four blades with staggered distribution in two layers. The overlap ratio of the blades can be adjusted by the wind speed, which can ensure the SVAWT has a higher energy transfer efficiency. The energy recovery module adjusts the overlap ratio of the blades without interruption by utilizing the self-rotation and the orbital revolution of the gears. The energy conversion module converts mechanical energy into electric energy and supplies power for the vehicle after adjustment by the voltage regulator module. Based on actual operating data, it can be found that the variation trend of power of the blades absorbing is consistent with wind speed and increases with the wind speed. Under four actual operating conditions, the root mean square value of the blades absorbing power are 7.0 W, 7.1 W, 3.9 W, and 5.1 W, respectively. These results reveal that the proposed novel adjustable SVAWT has high recovery power potential and can provide a valuable solution to the practical applications of wind energy harvesting. In this article, sinusoidal functions are introduced to a discrete map for hyperchaos generation and attractor self-reproduction. The constructed map shares a unique structure with controllable symmetry and conditional symmetry, which exhibits compound lattice dynamics, including 1-D and 2-D attractor growth. The direction of attractor growth can be controlled under polarity balance. STM32-based circuit realization verifies the results with numerical simulation and theoretical analysis.
