We present a case study of how mathematicians write for mathematicians. We have conducted interviews with two research mathematicians, the talented PhD student Adam and his experienced supervisor Thomas, about a research paper they wrote together. Over the course of 2 years, Adam and Thomas revised Adam's very detailed first draft. At the beginning of this collaboration, Adam was very knowledgeable about the subject of the paper and had good presentational skills but, as a new PhD student, did not yet have experience writing research papers for mathematicians. Thus, one main purpose of revising the paper was to make it take into account the intended audience. For this reason, the changes made to the initial draft and the authors' purpose in making them provide a window for viewing how mathematicians write for mathematicians. We examined how their paper attracts the interest of the reader and prepares their proofs for validation by the reader. Objectives: Medical students are the bright future researchers and giving priority to their early research experiences will have its remarkable effect on research evolution. Recent advances in medical fields are challenging and increase the importance of attracting new researchers. This study describes knowledge, attitude, practice, and barriers to participation in research among undergraduate medical students. Methods: This is a cross-section study on 260 medical students. Data collected included: knowledge about research (nine multiple questions); attitude towards medical research (eight questions); practice of research (five questions) and barriers against participation in research (nine questions). Results: Some aspects of research knowledge were affected by students' sex, previous year grade, academic phase, and premedical school type. About 44.6% gave right answers about parts of scientific papers. Academic phase medical students had better research knowledge than clinical phase students. More than 80% of study participants agree on the importance of being oriented about clinical research methodology. Lack of time was the most addressed barrier against participation in research projects by the students (50.5% of clinical phase students). Conclusions: Students' research knowledge needs improvement. Creating customized curricula will lead to increased involvement and significant contributions from medical students in the field of research. Secondary and High School students are usually adolescents, most of them in the urban areas and metropolitan cities are aware about the existence, various opportunities, career paths and advancements of the space industry. They are constantly updated, given they have access to quality and organized education models and a competitive environment. Although, the students in the rural areas who are equally ambitious and talented yet are not fortunate enough to have access to the state of art facilities like the counterparts. Even if they try and gain access with their self-interest, they do not have the motivation to sustain the passion, given their lack of clarity in subject, lack of awareness about engaging in various ways and fields in space other than technological related and mainly lack of driving force. The purpose of this paper is to develop and present an education model, exclusively for the high school students of the rural areas and inculcate sustainable passion for space. As opposed to the primary school students, the secondary school students have a consciousness of the space industry. This paper will talk about various plans and strategies, that will allow them to gain exposure, guide them about the existence of different career paths which are not entirely technological related, yet are still essential in the space like, administrative framework for example. This opens a new dimension in their brain helping them realize how they can be part of the industry in countless ways, and this shall assist them in being on the right track to space. In addition to, hosting creative space themed exhibitions, fun and engaging model design competitions, workshops, all of these would widen their knowledge boundaries and help them challenge their skills. A real time case study example from a school located in the rural southern of India shall be focused on this paper. Including data from a survey thereby the results, with action plans shall be presented in detail, which will aid in the analysis of the need, feasibility, and long-term sustenance of this approach and the requirement to scale it over different rural areas globally. • Need for improvised education models in rural areas elucidated, with data collection. • Data analysis and correlation of space education awareness, for high school students across two geographical locations. • Readily executable action plans age groupwise, for real-time education models in remote areas globally. While there are numerous public centers for gifted children outside of compulsory school hours in Türkiye, facilities for gifted preschoolers remain limited. To address this gap, a consortium of public and civil organizations established Şanlıurfa Gifted and Talented Education Center for children aged 3-6 years, funded by the Ministry of Industry and Technology from 2021 to 2023. This study, one of several academic initiatives within the project, explores parental perceptions of giftedness in young children, comparing views of parents whose children scored within normal and high IQ ranges. Upon the project center's opening, advertisements solicited applications for full-time programs. During the spring semester of 2022, 81 volunteering applicant families completed semi-structured interview forms, explaining how they came to the conclusion that their children were gifted. Subsequently, their children underwent IQ testing, classifying them as either within the normal or potentially gifted group. Researchers conducted content analysis on the initial family responses to identify perceptual differences between families of children with normal and high IQ scores. The analysis revealed several characteristics parents associate with potentially gifted preschoolers, aligning with existing literature. These include language proficiency, curiosity, strong memory, interest in mathematics and foreign languages, musical talent, rapid comprehension, sociability, high attention, logical thinking, and creativity. Notably, many of these traits were also attributed to children scoring within the normal IQ range scores, with exceptions being early reading and writing abilities, leadership skills, and expert opinion. The study concludes that parents of both gifted and typically developing children identify similar indicators of giftedness and subtle differences seem to exist in their perceptions of these traits. Introduction: Although gifted children can express high cognitive skills, they can also show socioemotional difficulties. Drawing from Olson's circumplex model, the present paper assessed the role of family functioning in internalizing and externalizing problems in gifted children. Materials and Methods: 362 mothers and their 362 gifted children were included. The unbalanced subscales of the FACES IV—disengagement, enmeshment, rigidity, and chaos—and the CBCL were administered to mothers. The children completed the WISC-IV. Results: The model predicting internalizing problems was significant and explained 5.6% of the variance. Only rigidity had an independent and positive effect on internalizing problems in gifted children over and above sociodemographic variables and QI, whereas disengagement, enmeshment, and chaos were not associated with internalizing problems. The model predicting externalizing problems was significant and explained 10% of the variance. Again, rigidity was the only variable that had an independent and positive effect on externalizing problems in gifted children over and above sociodemographic variables and QI, whereas disengagement, enmeshment, and chaos were not associated with externalizing problems in this population. Discussion: Rigid families with a low ability to change in conditions that require readjustment appear to increase the risk of both internalizing and externalizing problems in gifted children. Although further studies are needed to support these preliminary findings, parental support interventions aimed at increasing flexibility appear to be useful. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper describes the implementation of Electronics and Telecommunication engineering curriculum structure at the department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering of Rajarambapu Institute of Technology, Islampur, Sangli, Maharashtra, India. Author has summarized components of different categories mentioned in Government Resolution of Government of Maharashtra on NEP 2020 as well as AICTE Model curriculum and compared the category wise credits suggested by both. The author further highlighted the courses and credit requirements to get Honors, Double Minor, Honors with Research degrees for gifted students and multiple entry multiple exit for students facing obstacles in their learning path. Gift authorship, one of the common abuses in academic writing, is an unethical practice perpetuated by researchers at all levels and in many institutions around the world. This article addresses the perspectives of PhD students in respect to the ethical dilemma faced during the fulfilment of their publication requirement of graduation. The primary dilemma being; should I include my supervisor's name in my publication or not, even though they haven't substantially contributed to my journal publication to warrant authorship accordion. To explore the viewpoint of PhD students in the issue of their journal mandate, this study conducts a semi-formal interview with 15 PhD candidates enrolled in a thought-program. The result indicates that concerning the ethical dilemmas experienced in PhD students publication requirement of graduation, the following perspectives were dominant; (i) freedom of choice and decision making, (ii) lack of action and incompetence (iii) lack of convincing rules on authorship guidelines (iv) the question of trust, and (v) abuse of power. Cold War legacies pose significant challenges for heritage management and interpretation at landscape scale. This paper explores an area where management and interpretation overlap, in terms of how postcolonial attitudes usually require something to be done with these sites. We argue that this need not be the case and that a 'rest state' can be an important stage in a site's lifecycle. We focus in particular on United States Ground-launched Cruise Missile (GLCM) sites, of which six were built across Europe. All six are reminiscent of more conventional industrial sites co-located with their occupational communities yet they also exist as homes from home on gifted foreign soil typically occupying large areas. By examining these comparable sites at different stages of their heritage itineraries, we test the validity of some new interpretive and heritage management concepts including, if not leading towards, a rest state. Focusing on the chess prodigy Samuel Reshevsky (1911–1992), this paper examines the international commercial exploitation of child prodigies and their rise to celebrity. In the early 1920s, this boy wonder toured Europe and the United States, where he defeated some of the best players in simultaneous chess exhibitions, met important personalities and became a subject of global fascination. His ascent into stardom just before Hollywood's child star era reveals the public's eagerness to capitalise on gifted children as yet another commodity of the entertainment industry. Parents played a key role in exploiting child prodigies, despite the success of recent campaigns to secure children's rights such as compulsory education and the regulation of child labour. Meanwhile, philanthropists attempted to aid children like Reshevsky and stop their public exhibition. Moreover, psychologists examined their talent and worried about their futures. Overall, Reshevsky's case reconstructs the network of interests (commercial, humanitarian, scientific) surrounding child prodigies and historicises the child star phenomenon beyond the mainstream child performer. Purpose: The main goal of this paper is to evaluate the players' contribution and economic value in the soccer industry. Media visibility records provide us with comparable metrics to identify talent and make hiring decisions – these records can jointly capture sport (on-field) skills and other attractive (off-field) abilities. Design/methodology/approach: This paper presents a valuation method that applies media visibility appraisals to estimate "theoretical values" of the transfer fees paid for hiring soccer players. The estimations are performed by analysing the evolution over time of the media exposure of about 5,000 individuals of more than 200 clubs. Findings: The study's empirical results reveal that, along with sport performance, the players' media status also affects their economic valuation, which explains why the clubs – in search of greater economic returns – fiercely compete for the most popular players. The paper also identifies the main factors determining the players' economic value. In predicting the players' transfer fees, some variables are statistically significant: individual media visibility, media visibility share of the player within his team, contract duration, status of the hiring team, years of experience, player's age at the end of the contract and the domestic league of the hiring team. Originality/value: Professional sports provide reliable measures on individuals' performance that may help in the hiring process of workers. This paper identifies gifted soccer players while taking into account their skills as media leaders and the economic implications. Insofar as players' talents determine their teams' sport and economic achievements, the transfer fees paid for players must then be seen as a crucial factor. Attractions of overseas high-level returned talents have become a widely practiced talent policy, and the spatial structures of city-related interactions are drawing the attention of researchers from various fields. China is particularly an interesting case in point, as it has moved toward an innovation-oriented economy. Based on the movement trajectories of 2,846 returnees in a program entitled "Young Thousand Talents Plan" during 2011–2016, this paper identifies three city types in China: national core city, regional excellent city, and regional special city. Subsequently, this paper employs spatial visualization and qualitative interviews. This paper also goes on to show that the national core cities that possess dense research resources that coincide with premium life conditions and have objectively more favorable conditions, wider opportunities for attracting highly qualified specialists. There is a host of research on the structure of working memory (WM) and its relationship with intelligence in adults, but only a few studies have involved children. In this paper, several different WM models were tested on 170 Japanese school children (from 7 years and 5 months to 11 years and 6 months). Results showed that a model distinguishing between modalities (i.e., verbal and spatial WM) fitted the data well and was therefore selected. Notably, a bi-factor model distinguishing between modalities, but also including a common WM factor, presented with a very good fit, but was less parsimonious. Subsequently, we tested the predictive power of the verbal and spatial WM factors on fluid and crystallized intelligence. Results indicated that the shared contribution of WM explained the largest portion of variance of fluid intelligence, with verbal and spatial WM independently explaining a residual portion of the variance. Concerning crystallized intelligence, however, verbal WM explained the largest portion of the variance, with the joint contribution of verbal and spatial WM explaining the residual part. The distinction between verbal and spatial WM could be important in clinical settings (e.g., children with atypical development might struggle selectively on some WM components) and in school settings (e.g., verbal and spatial WM might be differently implicated in mathematical achievement). The Mistress of spices circles around the conflict, clash between what one must and what one wants duty and desire. The novel moves in the direction of adventures of Tilo a mysterious figure who runs a grocery store in inner-city Oakland and uses her knowledge as spices to help her customers. Tilo-women is described as confident, brave and intelligent having knowledge of spices." Change will happen only when we feel a strong sense of responsibility toward addressing the issue. In the present novel Divakaruni describes Tilo as women of strong sense with responsibility who cures and heals the immigrants suffering from homesick who visit her store. Tilo was rejected girl and latter she was called Bhagyavathi because she started to predict forth coming dangers. She reaches a magical island of spices and learns about the spices and becomes the mistress if spices and serves many with the knowledge of spices and at last finds new life to give meaning to her existence. This paper analyses the juvenile career of Julie Andrews who was a child performer of considerable note in her native Britain during the immediate post-war period. Possessed of a remarkably developed singing voice, Andrews was feted as a musical child prodigy, and she performed widely in variety and radio as 'Britain's youngest singing star'. In an era of profound disruption, Andrews' popular image as national wunderkind served – as the myth of the child star so often it does – as a resonant cultural fiction for the articulation of deeply felt ideological concerns and the fantastic reconciliation of social and emotional anxieties. This paper aims to find details about an excellent Spanish pianist from the beginning of the 20th century who starred when she was a little child: her name was Maria Vallès. Not many news are known about her brief biography since she had a short life and little could develop and become known as a pianist. Through a research work some press articles from the first decades of the 20th century were found, which highlight the excellence of her piano performances in Spain. The aim of this research is to analyze the pedagogical codes for the training of a musical talent in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century, as well as the feminine cultural codes against a female prodigy artist, on the axis of Maria Vallès. This research was carried out according to the type of document analysis, which is one of the qualitative research types. Evidence documents regarding the prodigy phenomenon of the Spanish pianist were found. She played concerts basically in Catalonia, where she moved with her family when she was a little child. It should be also noted that she studied with one of the most prestigious pedagogues of the time, Molinari. He was her mentor and the one who introduced her to the Catalan cultural and musical life of the twenties, making her known among her peers who were also pedagogues and musicologists and the public attending her concerts. This research includes some codes for practitioners and pedagogues for the development of piano talent, in the example of Spanish pianist Maria Vallès, who was a prodigy child. The spirit of new time bears the seal of extremely smart and technologically intelligent entities, which see the world from multiple, heterogeneous perspectives. One of these perspective is certainly the ethical horizon of human creativity. This paper takes an in-depth look at the modern concepts, definitions, and theories connected with analysis of moral characteristics of gifted and talented children. Focusing on these two broad areas of inquiry (morality and giftedness), the text aims to examine their overlap and interconnection. More specifically, the paper explores role of the ethical awareness of the gifted and talented children in the process of social values development. Also, the text may be used by educators and other professionals, who work with children and their families, as a summary overview of the main elements for recognition of the giftedness and talents among the children. Children with gifted intellects often earn lower scores on measures of processing speed than their nongifted counterparts. However, neuropsychological research indicates such a profile of scores is likely not due to a true innate neurocognitive processing speed deficit but is rather a statistical artifact resulting from the interference of common cognitive and behavioral idiosyncrasies inherent to giftedness, such as perfectionism and an aversion to completing paper and pencil tasks. The first aim of this study is to identify and explain the relative underperformance of children with gifted intellects on measures of processing speed. The second aim is to develop a neuropsychologically informed framework for clinically assessing processing speed in children with gifted intellects using alternative measures from the WISC–V. Clinical implications are discussed as they relate to the relative disabling effects of common gifted-related idiosyncrasies on the expression of their otherwise intact neuropsychological capabilities. There is a lack of research on students' conceptions of giftedness and intelligence, despite recognition of their influence on real-life factors such as achievement and motivation. This paper presents a cross-sectional mixed methods study that investigated Finnish students' (age 6–16 years; N = 1282) implicit conceptions of giftedness and intelligence and the mindsets underlying such conceptions. More particularly, the study aimed to investigate how giftedness and intelligence are constructed and understood in the minds of students and how students' mindsets are actualized in their descriptions of giftedness and intelligence. The results indicated that, from very early on, students differentiate between the two concepts. Giftedness and intelligence were both seen as malleable, but views on giftedness were more fixed than were conceptions of intelligence. Both age- and school-related differences were found in students' conceptions. Furthermore, the study demonstrated differences in conceptions of giftedness and intelligence between growth- and fixed-mindset students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper was intended to develop a new methodological system and test its impact on the development of motivation and giftedness among children. The experiment was conducted among 1,200 children from grades 3, 7, and 10 by researchers from the Daryn Republican Applied Research Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The teaching methodology involved: interactive technologies; developing projects with faculty members; and conducting electives in the exact sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and the creative arts. The experiment lasted 4 months. Before and after the experiment, all respondents were evaluated by their instructors according to the following four criteria: academic giftedness, creative giftedness, social giftedness, and intellectual giftedness. The overall result demonstrated an increase in the level of giftedness to above-average values. Motivation levels observed among respondents in grades 3, 7, and 10 were 1.71; 1.72, and 1.54, respectively. The level for this criterion also reached above-average values. This implies that this technique is effective. This technique can already be applied not only in special schools for gifted children, but also in general educational institutions to achieve better results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Our paper aims to present, in general lines, the relationship of the Cantemirs with the visual arts, a relationship that has manifested itself in various forms. The first information regarding the filiation of this kin with the artistic-plastic expression is attested at Constantin Cantemir, lord of the Land of Moldavia. His son Dimitrie was not only an exceptional musician, but a gifted painter, who also had extensive knowledge in the field of architecture and sculpture. He got the most out of the mastery of technical and expressive means in his activities of practical creation. Dimitrie Cantemir's talent and artistic occupations were inherited by his descendants - Antioh, Maria and Ecaterina. The given paper comes to denote once again the intellectual depth of the Cantemirs and, at the same time, emphasizes the fact that the visual arts had been an organic part of the spiritual nourishment of this noble family for several generations, serving as a powerful means of aesthetic education and cultural formation in the spirit of the European Enlightenment. Courageous and innovative individuals are needed urgently to work on the wicked problems and challenges of our modern world. This paper explores a critical solutions source, namely the education of transformationally gifted adolescent girls who "seek positively to change the world at some level -- to make the world a better place" (Sternberg, 2020, p. 30). Altruism is the central drive of transformational giftedness. Recent research indicates that gifted adolescent girls have the dispositions, expertise, and abiding sense of hope-fullness needed to harness their core altruistic career-related values and high abilities to significantly impact the common good (Napier, 2020). Napier and Sternberg argue that transformational giftedness should be identified and nurtured in educational environments to benefit gifted adolescent girls' self-actualisation and society at large. Recommendations are made for educational policy and practice to identify and nurture transformationally oriented gifted adolescent girls' career trajectories. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

(1) Background: Educational attention to gifted students has not been a well-established line of research due to the multiple conceptions about their characterisation. While educational attention has tended to respond to students who present learning difficulties due to their limitations, it has been observed that gifted students may also fail in their studies. The purpose of this study is to examine educational interventions carried out with this population worldwide; (2) Methods: The methodological design is a systematic review, following the PRISMA guidelines, in the Scopus and WOS databases on educational interventions and gifted students; (3) Results: The papers were studied through a qualitative content analysis based on a population of 557 articles, with a final sample of 14, finding a great variety of didactic strategies and models oriented to meet the needs of this group. In relation to the quality of the studies, the lack of pre-post methodological designs focused on performance stands out; (4) Conclusions: Educational research with gifted population demands more interventions personalised to the specific characteristics of the students. In addition, there is a need for further research with quasi-experimental designs with this population to identify quality, not generalised, interventions to meet these needs and replace them with individualised adaptations regarding the needs and interests of these students in order to increase their motivation and reduce failure. Background: To date services for children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) have not been informed by the perspective of children with DCD. This study aimed to synthesise the findings of discrete qualitative studies reporting the lived experiences views and preferences of children and young with DCD using a meta-ethnographic approach to develop new conceptual understandings. Methods: A systematic search of ten databases; Academic Search Complete, AMED, CINAHL, ERIC, MEDLINE, PsychArticles, PsychInfo, EMBASE, SPORTDiscus, and Web of Science, was conducted between March and April 2019, and updated in early June 2020. Meta-ethnography, following the method described by Noblit and Hare was used to synthesise included studies. The Joanna Briggs Institute Checklist was used to appraise all included papers. PROSPERO registration number CRD42019129178. Results: Fifteen studies met the inclusion criteria. Meta-ethnographic synthesis produced three themes; a) 'It's harder than it should be': Navigating daily activities b) Fitting in, and c) 'So what? I drop things': Strategies and supports to mitigate challenges. Children with DCD describe a mismatch between their abilities and performance norms for daily activities that led to a cascade of negative consequences including negative self-appraisal, bullying and exclusion. In the face of these difficulties children described creative and successful strategies they enacted and supports they accessed including; assistance from others (parents, friends and teachers), focusing on their strengths and talents, accepting and embracing their difference, adopting a "just do it" attitude, setting personal goals, self-exclusion from some social activities, using humour or sarcasm, viewing performance expectations as a social construct, and enjoying friendships as a forum for fun, acceptance and protection against exclusion. Conclusion: Service provision for children and young people with DCD should address the social and attitudinal environments, focus on friendship and social inclusion and address stigma-based bullying particularly within the school environment. Furthermore, practitioners should identify and foster children's own strategies for navigating daily life activities with DCD. The identified themes resonate with contemporary disability theory and the International Classification of Functioning. The social and attitudinal environmental context of children and young people with DCD profoundly influences their experiences. Future intervention development and service provision for children and young people with DCD should consider opportunities to address social and attitudinal environmental factors. ACCORDING TO FELDMAN (1993), MUSICAL prodigies are expected to perform at the same high level as professional adult musicians and, therefore, are indistinguishable from adults. This widespread definition was the basis for the study by Comeau et al. (2017), which investigated if participants could determine whether an audio sample was played by a professional pianist or a child prodigy. Our paper is a replication of this previous study under more controlled conditions. Our main findings partly confirmed the previous findings: Comparable to Comeau et al.'s (2017) study (N = 51), the participants in our study (N = 278) were able to discriminate between prodigies and adult professionals by listening to music recordings of the same pieces. The overall discrimination performance was slightly above chance (correct responses: 53.7%; sensitivity d' = 0.20), which was similar to Comeau et al.'s (2017) results of the identification task with prodigies aged between 11 and 14 years (approximately 54.6% correct responses; sensitivity approximately d' = 0.13). Contrary to the original study, musicians and pianists in our study did not perform significantly better than other participants. Nevertheless, it is generally possible for listeners to differentiate prodigies from adult performers--although this is a demanding task. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
