Background: This scoping review was conducted to summarise and map studies on pain resulting from endotracheal suctioning in paediatric intensive care patients. Method: This scoping review conducted in June 2022 was performed by screening articles published in English. Scopus, PubMed, Cochrane, Web of Science, MedLine and Ovid databases were used for screening. The keywords 'endotracheal suctioning', 'pain', 'paediatric intensive care' and their synonyms were used in the search. Results: During the review, 280 articles were accessed, and the full texts of 14 articles were evaluated for suitability. After some of the articles were excluded from the study, abstracts of nine articles were given below. Conclusion: It is recommended that a greater number of randomised controlled studies should be conducted, because the number of studies with a high level of evidence on the effect of endotracheal suctioning on the pain levels of patients in the paediatric intensive care unit is very few. Background Objectives Methods Results Discussion Conclusions Bibliometric methods may be used to examine research trends, and information visualisation techniques are useful in illustrating the diffusion of knowledge and how theories are applied.The present study aimed to illustrate how Orem's Self‐Care Deficiency Nursing Theory (SCDNT) has been cited and applied in nursing science and beyond.A bibliometric analysis examined scientific publications that cited Orem's nursing theory. In addition, the diffusion of SCDNT was assessed using data visualisation methods and integration scores of SCDNT versions were calculated to define trends in its theoretical usage in other scientific domains.The information visualisation demonstrated increased usage of SCDTN in different disciplines. Integration scores demonstrated that the scientific community still recognises and uses versions of SCDTN.Studying citation patterns helps to identify which publications are still cited and relevant, as well as illustrating the dissemination of theory. Findings may be used in the collection weeding of SCDTN book versions.Findings provided nursing scientists with a better conceptual understanding of SCDNT diffusion and development. The technological integration issue in education is examined in educational researches with its different aspects and especially in recent years, comes into a more important position all over the world. Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) studies, which we confront frequently in this context, increase scientific accumulation of knowledge for using technology effectively in teaching different subject areas and provide teacher training a new dimension. In addition to the researches that contribute to form theoretic framework, application oriented studies also attract the attention. This study aims to reveal the scholarly communication of the researchers, to specify the documents and authors efficient in the field and to reveal extensive conclusions in the context of document and author by examining the researches that are conducted about TPACK. In this sense, it is thought that this study will reveal the current situation on this subject and contribute to the planning of future researches. The study is conducted with 543 documents in total which are books, reviews and researches about TPACK that are acquired from Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. By using bibliometrical method, the scholarly communication pattern in TPACK area is tackled in the context of author and document and the prominent authors and documents on yearly basis and is presented with scientific mapping method by visualizing. Purpose: To compare the intraocular pressure (IOP) measured by dynamic contour tonometry (DCT), Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT), non-contact tonometry (NCT) and Tono-Pen and also to assess whether ocular parameters such as corneal thickness, keratometry and axial length affect the measurements by the tonometers. Materials and Methods: One hundred healthy subjects prospectively underwent IOP measurement with DCT, GAT, NCT and Tono-Pen. The correlation between the tonometer readings as well as the effect of keratometry, central corneal thickness (CCT), axial length and anterior chamber depth on IOP measurements were assessed. Results: DCT readings were higher than NCT (ΔIOP=2.0±3.2 mmHg, p<0.001) and GAT (ΔIOP=1.3±2.1 mmHg, p=0.003) but not Tono-Pen (ΔIOP=0.1±2.7 mmHg, p=0.981). DCT, GAT and NCT correlated positively with CCT (p=0.039, p=0.020 and p=0.001). GAT and NCT readings were significantly higher in eyes with thick cornea (>568 μm) compared to eyes with thin cornea (<535 μm) (p=0.021 and p=0.003). Ocular parameters other than CCT did not have a significant effect on the readings of tonometers. Conclusion: Despite significant correlation; DCT readings were higher than GAT and NCT but not Tono-Pen. DCT, NCT and GAT readings significantly correlated with CCT. GAT and NCT readings were significantly higher in eyes with thick cornea compared to eyes with thin cornea. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the structure of the knowledge creation process in nursing science and to investigate the dissemination of theoretical knowledge in other disciplines by analyzing citations and social network data., Method: This exploratory study evaluated Metadata to find academic publications. Meleis's Transition Theory was selected as a case study. A majority of the publications that represented the transition theory were assigned as the core of the theory. Forward and backward citations were used as agents of knowledge linkage to determine the dissemination of the theory in the field of science. Social network analysis and visualization were used to depict graphical and structural relations of the research front and the knowledge base., Results: The knowledge base of the Transition Theory was built on 7 different information networks. The most effective and vast information network consisted of Meleis, AI as a researcher and the central information network, which is the journal of Nursing Research. Oncology, geriatrics, public health, and psychology in the areas of information propagation within the field of nursing were considered as research areas where the theoretical framework provided by the theory was rendered functional., Conclusion: In recent years, the use of theoretical frameworks has become a necessity to assess the changing needs of the study of nursing science. The method used in the study can be effectively used to analyze the conceptual structures in the nursing education and professional application processes and to understand the origins of these theories.
