Abstract: The article presents a speech by Paul Aebersold, Isotopes Division Chief of the Atomic Energy Commission's (AEC's) operations at Oak Ridge, delivered in Chicago, December 29, 1947. He discusses the developments in the isotope distribution program of the AEC including the shipment and production of radioactive isotopes using the uranium chain-reacting pile and cyclotrons. Uses of radioisotopes in medicine, agriculture, industry and human welfare are also discussed.
