Chapter I, Part II of the book "The Daisy Chain, or Aspirations" is presented. It focuses on Margaret who contemplates on a butterfly of the penwiper class and had a sadness expression of the habitual ill-health. Etheldred stirs up all Stoneborough to hear what Miss May is doing at Cocksmoor that needs care for the place. Mrs. Hoxton spend the time in making frocks for Cocksmoor children that she does in cutting out paper, and stuffing glass bottles with it.

Chapter XXVI of the book "Awful Disclosures," by Maria Monk is presented. It explores Monk's settlement at the Almhouse in New York City wherein she contemplated whether or not to disclose the cruelty of the priests in the Nunnery. When her poor health became serious, she became more determined to communicate with Mr. Tappan about the scenes she has witnessed in the Nunnery including the murder of Saint Francis.

Chapter XXI of the book "Awful Disclosures," by Maria Monk is presented. It discusses Monk's escape from the Nunnery through the morning steamboat departing for Quebec. On her way, she contemplated whether or not to return voluntarily to the Convent. It was suspended when she realized that her return would have meant that she has to become a mother, and witnessing her own child's murder was more than she could bear.
