Abstract
The article reports on the decision of U.S. nonprofit organization The Chemical Foundation to subsidize the production of alcohol from potatoes or corn by a commercial scale and a patented process by chemical firm Bailor Manufacturing Co. in 1936. The program of the association aims to promote the use of agricultural products as raw materials for the chemical industry. The author states that the plan is to produce anhydrous ethyl alcohol which is suitable for automobile fuel.
