Laser–MIG hybrid welding–brazing was used to weld 304 stainless steel and 6061-T6 aluminum alloy with a thickness of 2 mm. The microstructure, morphology, chemical composition and corrosion behavior of the samples after high-temperature oxidation were investigated. The results reveal that the 304/6061 dissimilar joint had a thicker intermetallic compound layer (7–8 μm) during high-temperature oxidation (HTO) treatment than the sample without HTO treatment (2–3 μm). The oxide film thickness of the 6061 side of the weld joint treated by HTO (2401 nm) increased compared to the samples (181.1 nm) without HTO treatment. Unlike other metals treated by high-temperature oxidation, the high-temperature treatment process in this paper can reduce the corrosion resistance of the base metal and dissimilar joints, and the sequence of the corrosion current density was weld (HTO) >weld>6061 (HTO) >6061>304 (HTO) >304. In this study, circulating fluidized bed fly ash (CFBFA) non-sintered ceramsite was innovatively developed. The CFBFA was addressed by adding ternary activator (including cement, hydrated lime, and gypsum) to prepare ceramsite. In the curing process, the use of power plant flue gas for curing not only captured greenhouse gas CO2, but also enhanced the compressive strength of the ceramsite. The compressive strength of the composite gravels prepared by the CFBFA was modeled using a novel approach that employed the response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial neural network (ANN) coupled with genetic algorithm (GA). Box–Behnken design (BBD)-RSM method was used for the independent variables of cement content, hydrated lime content, and gypsum content. The resulting quadratic polynomial model had an R2 value of 0.9820 and RMSE of 0.21. The BP-ANN with a structure of 3-10-1 performed the best and showed better prediction of the response than the BBD-RSM model, with an R2 value of 0.9932 and RMSE of 0.19. The process parameters were optimized using RSM optimization tools and GA. Validation experiments showed that the GA-ANN prediction results were more accurate than the BBD-RSM results. As a crucial component of nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) mode locking, optical fiber gratings offer advantages such as polarization modulation capability, stability, fiber compatibility, and preparation maturity, making them a vital technological foundation for achieving NPR mode locking. Here, a polarization-maintaining fiber helical long-period grating (PMF-HLPG) was designed and fabricated as a polarizer using the CO 2 -laser direct-write technique to realize the NPR effect. A homemade fiber Bragg grating (FBG) was also introduced into the laser system to enable a narrow-bandwidth lasing output and wavelength tunability. Based on the PMF-HLPG and FBG mentioned above, an all-fiber mode-locked laser with a spectra bandwidth of 0.15 nm was constructed to generate stable short pulses with a fundamental repetition rate of 12.7122 MHz and a pulse duration of 30.08 ps. In particular, its signal-to-noise ratio is up to 84.5 dB, showing the high stability of the laser. Further, the operating wavelength of the laser can be tuned from 1559.65 nm to 1560.29 nm via heating the FBG while maintaining its mode-locked state with stability. The results indicate that the PMF-HLPG could be used as a polarizer to meet the NPR mechanism for ultrashort pulse laser applications in optical communication, optical sensing, and biomedical imaging. Aiming at the technical difficulty of poor teeth accuracy of the extruded sun gears, an innovative precision finishing approach was developed as the subsequent process of producing high-quality sun gears, and three finishing tools were designed, namely mandrel with gap, mandrel without gap and interference mandrel. A finite element prediction method was proposed by using the post-processing toolbox of DEFORM software to study the distribution laws of outer and inner teeth deviations of the reshaped sun gear. Moreover, the effects of various precision finishing tools on the formability of sun gear (such as tooth deformation, tool stress and tooth accuracy) were investigated. The results show that the tooth accuracy class of the reshaped outer teeth in profile and helix were seventh and eighth, respectively, and the total M-value error of the inner teeth was decreased to 72.3 μm and the reduction ratio was 73.8% by adopting the interference mandrel, which indicates that the finishing effect of the interference mandrel was better than that of mandrels for both with gap and without gap, and the forming accuracy of the finished teeth could be considerably improved. Therefore, the interference mandrel can be recommended as the optimum finishing tool in the manufacture of precision sun gears. The simulated results were in good agreement with experimental ones within a maximum error of 14.4%, which proves the practicability of the sizing approach and the dependability of the finite element prediction method. A miniaturized 150 kV DC photocathode gun is developed at Peking University to generate electron beam which can be manipulated in temporal and spatial distribution as requirements freely. To measure the bunch length which is an important temporal parameter of the low energy electron beam from the DC photocathode gun, a 1.3 GHz medium-β disk-loaded deflecting cavity is adopted. In this paper we present the design of the deflecting cavity which involves the microwave design including the geometry optimization and the separation of the orthogonal dipole modes as well as the power coupling, the mechanical design including the determination of the cavity wall thickness and the tuning as well as brazing structure, and the thermodynamic analysis. Particle tracking simulation shows that the best resolution of 190 fs can be achieved for the 150 keV electron beam by using the deflecting cavity. Its fabrication is completed and the RF measurements are carried out with a vector network analyzer. On the basis of guaranteeing the reliability of the coating, thermal-spray zinc coating has been verified by the industry to have a lifespan of more than 20 years. It is an anti-corrosion coating with excellent performance. Inorganic zinc-rich coating being a new coating technology has a certain degree of influence on its popularization and application in the field of anti-corrosion; this is due to the lack of relevant comparison data on its anti-corrosion performance and service life. It is necessary to compare and analyze the service life and corrosion resistance of the two coatings, so as to obtain the best application scenarios for the two coatings and provide a reference for the selection of the most economical coating. Based on coating reliability, 7500 h of accelerated salt-spray tests of inorganic zinc-rich coating and of the thermal-spray coating of steel structures were carried out. Electrochemical and salt-spray tests on inorganic zinc-rich coating and thermal-spray zinc coating were carried out. The micro-corrosion morphology, corrosion rate and corrosion mechanism of the two coatings and the factors affecting the corrosion rate were obtained. An interfacial corrosion-thinning and weight-loss equation was established to predict the service life of inorganic zinc-rich coating by comparing it with that of the thermal-spray zinc coating salt-spray test; they suggested that inorganic zinc-rich coating has a longer service life. The results are of practical guiding significance for the selection of a zinc coating and the rapid selection and design of a supporting scheme, and can also provide a reference for the service-life prediction of other types of coatings. Injectable decellularized matrix hydrogels derived from either myocardium or small intestinal submucosa (pDMYO-gel, pDSIS-gel) have been successfully used for myocardial injury repair. However, the relationship between tissue-specific biological functions and protein composition in these two materials is not clear yet. In this study, the protein composition, mechanical properties, and morphology of these two hydrogels and their effects on the behavior of neonatal rat cardiomyocytes (NRCMs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), are investigated. The results show that pDMYO-gel is more conducive to growth, adhesion, spreading, and maintenance of normal NRCM beating, due to its higher proportion of extracellular matrix (ECM) glycoproteins (49.55%) and some unique functional proteins such as annexin-6 (ANXA6), agrin (AGRN), cathepsin D (CTSD) and galectin-1 (LGALS1), whereas pDSIS-gel is more conducive to the proliferation of HUVECs. Animal study shows that pDMYO-gel has a better effect on improving cardiac function, inhibiting myocardial fibrosis and maintaining ventricular wall thickness in acute myocardial infarction models in vivo. Oil and gas wastewater refers to the waste stream produced in special production activities such as drilling and fracturing. This kind of wastewater has the following characteristics: high salinity, high chromaticity, toxic and harmful substances, poor biodegradability, and a difficulty to treat. Interestingly, nanomaterials show great potential in water treatment technology because of their small size, large surface area, and high surface energy. When nanotechnology is combined with membrane treatment materials, nanofiber membranes with a controllable pore size and high porosity can be prepared, which provides more possibilities for oil–water separation. In this review, the important applications of nanomaterials in wastewater treatment, including membrane separation technology and photocatalysis technology, are summarized. Membrane separation technology is mainly manifested in ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), and reverse osmosis (RO). It also focuses on the application of semiconductor photocatalysis technology induced by TiO2 in the degradation of oil and gas wastewater. Ubiquitylation and deubiquitylation are reversible protein post-translational modification (PTM) processes involving the regulation of protein degradation under physiological conditions. Loss of balance in this regulatory system can lead to a wide range of diseases, such as cancer and inflammation. As the main members of the deubiquitinases (DUBs) family, ubiquitin-specific peptidases (USPs) are closely related to biological processes through a variety of molecular signaling pathways, including DNA damage repair, p53 and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) pathways. Over the past decade, increasing attention has been drawn to USPs as potential targets for the development of therapeutics across diverse therapeutic areas. In this review, we summarize the crucial roles of USPs in different signaling pathways and focus on advances in the development of USP inhibitors, as well as the methods of screening and identifying USP inhibitors. We demonstrate a simple and highly sensitive optical fiber relative humidity (RH) sensor based on a long-period fiber grating (LPFG) coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composite films. The resonance wavelength of the LPFG is sensitive to environmental humidity due to the change in effective refractive index caused by the strong surface absorption and desorption of the porous PEG/PVA coatings. The sensor is sensitive in a wide range from 50% to 95% RH, with a highest sensitivity of 2.485 nm/%RH in the range 50–75% RH. The proposed RH sensor has the advantages of compact size, good reversibility, and stability, which makes it attractive for high-humidity environments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Over the past decades, extensive efforts have been devoted to modulating the textural properties, morphology and microstructure of γ-Al2O3, since the physiochemical properties of γ-Al2O3 have close correlations with the performance of hydrotreating catalysts. In this work, a spongy mesoporous γ-alumina (γ-Al2O3) was synthesized using Al-based metal-organic frameworks (Al-MOFs) as precursor by two-step pyrolysis, and this Al-MOF-derived γ-Al2O3 was used as hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalyst support, to explore the effect of support on the HDS performance. Compared with industrial γ-Al2O3, the spongy alumina displayed well-developed porosity with relatively high surface area, large pore volume, and abundant weak Lewis acid sites. Based on catalyst characterization and performance evaluation, sulfurized molybdenum and cobalt molecules were able to incorporate and highly disperse into channels of the spongy mesoporous alumina, increasing the dispersion of active catalytic species. The spongy γ-Al2O3 was also able to enhance the diffusion efficiency and mass transfer of reactant molecules due to its improved texture properties. Therefore, the corresponding catalyst presented higher activities toward HDS of dibenzothiophene (DBT) than that from industrial alumina. The spongy mesoporous γ-alumina synthesized by Al-MOFs provides a new alternative to further develop novel γ-alumina materials with different texture and various nanoporous structures, considering the diversity of MOFs with different compositions, topological structures, and morphology.
