Inverters are important interfaces between micropower sources and consuming loads. However, the varying inductors and capacitors, modeling errors, measurement errors, and external disturbances would lead to degradation of the inverters' performances when conventional linear control is adopted, causing instability problems. To address it, a disturbance-rejection passivity-based nonlinear control strategy is proposed for the inverters of micropower sources. The proposed method innovatively introduces an extended high-gain state observer into the passivity-based controller to achieve online observation and elimination of complex influencing factors such as external disturbances, time-varying parameter uncertainties, and modeling errors, thus ensuring the global stability of the inverter under various disturbances. The design details on the passivity-based controller and the extended high-gain state observer are elaborated. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed control strategy are verified by the experiments performed by a 15 kVA inverter designed in the lab. The results show that the proposed control is able to ensure the inverter's stable operation under the following conditions: constant power load, the filter inductance and capacitance reduce up to 33% and 96%, and the input voltage varies more than 22%. In recent years, jamming strategies for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) pertaining to target detection and identification, such as the creation of false targets, electromagnetic (EM) deception, and signal spoofing, have been increasingly emphasized. Distinct from traditional SAR jamming approaches, the introduction of an innovative artificial material cloak in SAR target jamming presents augmented capabilities. These methods demonstrate a proficient redirection of incident EM waves in specific or arbitrary directions, effectively masking the vital information linked to critical targets. This study introduces a broadband SAR target jamming system employing an information metasurface that incorporates intelligent information processing algorithms in conjunction with a space-time-coding digital metasurface, endowing it with the capacity to adeptly modulate incident EM waves. This integration facilitates a versatile approach to jamming, enabling the deployment of multi-mode protective measures against critical targets. The conducted simulation and experiment results validate the system's ability to adjustably produce EM deception and generate multiple false targets independently of the SAR system. The outcomes of this research significantly advance the practicality of SAR protection strategies, pushing the boundaries toward more dynamic, broadband, and controllable scenarios, thereby substantially improving the concealment of critical targets in highly sensitive conflict areas. For linear viscoelastic materials, this paper proposes a finite element analysis method based on an integral constitutive relationship that can simultaneously consider the relaxation behavior of the elastic modulus and the creep Poisson's ratio. Firstly, the generalized Maxwell model is employed to depict the relaxation characteristics of the elastic modulus, while the generalized Kelvin model is used to represent the creep Poisson's ratio. Subsequently, the element relaxation stiffness matrix is established, thereby forming a convolutional finite element equation. Furthermore, the recursive calculation of the convolutional integral is derived, and the calculation steps of the finite element for viscoelasticity considering the time-dependent nature of both the elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio are established. Finally, the accuracy of the proposed algorithm is verified through two numerical examples with linear viscoelastic material. The results indicate that the proposed variable stiffness method for the finite element analysis of linear viscoelastic materials can simultaneously consider the changes in the elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio over time, thereby establishing a new path and idea for the more accurate simulation of viscoelastic materials' mechanical properties. Compared with the initial strain method for linear viscoelastic materials, the variable stiffness method proposed in this paper effectively avoids the assumption of constant stress during the micro time interval, thus significantly enhancing the finite element calculation accuracy of linear viscoelastic materials. In order to study the ultimate span of a concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) arch bridge, taking the structural strength, stiffness, and stability as the limiting conditions, the finite element analysis method is adopted to carry out research on the influence law of a single parameter of the pipe diameter, wall thickness, and cross-section height on the ultimate span of the arch axial shape. The result is used as a sample point to determine the ultimate span of the CFST arch bridge under multifactor coupling based on the response surface method. The finite element method is used to check the strength, stiffness, stability, number of segments and maximum lifting weight, steel content rate, and steel pipe concrete constraint effect coefficient of the CFST arch bridge under the ultimate span diameter. The results show that, when analyzed using a single parameter, the ultimate span diameter of the CFST arch bridge increases with the increase in the steel pipe diameter and the cross-section height, and then decreases. Moreover, it increases with the increase in the wall thickness of the steel pipe, and the CFST arch bridge reaches the ultimate span with the increase in the steel pipe wall thickness. When the pipe diameter is 1.38 m, the CFST arch bridge reaches the ultimate span; according to a multi-parameter coupling analysis, when the pipe diameter is 1.49 m, wall thickness is 37 mm, and cross-section height is 17 m, the CFST arch bridge reaches the ultimate span of 821 m, which meets all of the limiting conditions, and, at this point, the arch axial coefficient is 1.2. The results of the finite element calculation show that the structural strength, prior to the stiffness, stability, and other limitations, just reaches the critical value of the limiting conditions. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a high-resolution imaging radar. With the deteriorating electromagnetic environment, SAR systems are susceptible to various forms of electromagnetic interference, including deception jamming. This jamming notably impacts SAR signal processing and subsequently worsens the quality of acquired images. Chaotic frequency modulation (CFM) signals could effectively counteract deception jamming. Nevertheless, due to the inadequate band-limited performance of CFM signals, higher oversampling factors are needed for achieving optimal low sidelobe levels, leading to increased system costs and excessively high data rates. Additionally, not all chaotic sentences meet the CFM signal requirements. In response, this paper proposes a novel signal modulation method called chaotic-nonlinear frequency modulation (C-NLFM) that enhances band-limited performance. The optimum parameters for C-NLFM signals are selected using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. In this way, C-NLFM signals attain ideal low sidelobe levels even when faced with reduced oversampling factors. Meanwhile, this chaotic coding mode retains its capability to effectively suppress deception jamming. Moreover, C-NLFM signals demonstrate versatility in adapting to various chaotic sequences, thereby enhancing their flexibility to modify the signals as required. To study the evolution of stress on the ring and segment interfaces during the construction process of the concrete encapsulation of the main arch ring in a rigid-frame arch bridge, alongside its impact on the ultimate load-bearing capacity of the main arch ring, a 1:10 scale model experiment was conducted by taking the 600 m Tian'e Longtan Bridge as the prototype. The key cross-section concrete strain data were collected during the entire construction process of the main arch ring via fiber-optic strain sensors, which were used to investigate the stress evolution at ring and segment interfaces. ANSYS APDL was employed to simulate the ultimate bearing capacity under various loading conditions of two different finite element models, which were, respectively, formed segmentally and by single pouring. The results revealed that (1) after the closure of the concrete encapsulation of the main arch ring, the concrete stress in the cross-section exhibits significant stress disparities. At the same cross-section, the level of the web concrete stress can reach 76% of the floor concrete stress, while the roof concrete stress level is less than 20% of the floor concrete stress. (2) At the junction of two adjacent work planes, there are considerable differences in the stress levels of the concrete on both sides. After the closure of the main arch ring, the intersegment stress ratios of the floor, web, and roof concrete are 60~70%, 40~60%, and 0~5%, respectively. (3) Loading conditions remarkably affected the ultimate bearing capacity of the main arch ring. Under mid-span loading and 1/4 span symmetrical loading conditions, compared to single-pour concrete encapsulation, the ultimate bearing capacity of the main arch ring with concrete encapsulated by segmented and ring-divided pouring decreased by 19.16% and 5.23%, respectively, compared to single-pour concrete encapsulation. Soft robotic grippers offer great advantages over traditional rigid grippers with respect to grabbing objects with irregular or fragile shapes. Shape memory polymer composites are widely used as actuators and holding elements in soft robotic grippers owing to their finite strain, high specific strength, and high driving force. In this paper, a general 3D anisotropic thermomechanical model for woven fabric-reinforced shape memory polymer composites (SMPCs) is proposed based on Helmholtz free energy decomposition and the second law of thermodynamics. Furthermore, the rule of mixtures is modified to describe the stress distribution in the SMPCs, and stress concentration factors are introduced to account for the shearing interaction between the fabric and matrix and warp yarns and weft yarns. The developed model is implemented with a user material subroutine (UMAT) to simulate the shape memory behaivors of SMPCs. The good consistency between the simulation results and experimental validated the proposed model. A reasonable and efficient loading scheme is needed to guarantee the success of large-scale bridge tests. In this study, an array-type, self-balancing pulley-group loading system was designed based on the world's largest spanning arch bridge using a 1:10 scale model test. Automatic statistics of the required load at each loading point were realized using ANSYS, and a load optimization algorithm for loading points at different construction stages was proposed. Tests were carried out separately for the loading system using a single set of pulley groups and an array-type pulley group. Finite element models of the model bridge and the original bridge were established separately using ANSYS, and the stress results of different components during different construction stages of the main arch ring were compared. The research results show the following: (1) The load magnification factor of the single-pulley-group loading device is approximately 6.6 times, with a mechanical efficiency of 94.26%. (2) In the array-type loading system, the actual load at each loading point can reach the design value. The self-balancing characteristic of this system can eliminate the impact of vertical deformation of the structure on loading accuracy, verifying the reliability of the system. (3) The simulation results of the original bridge and the model bridge coincide well, and the stress of each component during the construction process has the same trend. At key construction stages, the maximum relative errors of the stress results of the rigid steel frame and the concrete inside the pipe of the two bridges are 8.33% and 9.34%, respectively, and the maximum absolute error of the bottom plate concrete is 0.66 MPa, verifying the correctness of the counterweight-optimization method. To investigate the reasonable range of the inclination angle of arch ribs, a spatial finite element method was employed based on a concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) basket-handle through an arch bridge with a span of 360 m. A spatial finite element model was established using Midas/Civil software, which was verified with actual bridge data. The effects of different arch rib inclination angles were investigated under static loads. The structural natural frequencies, linear elastic stability coefficients, internal forces, and displacements were comprehensively considered to determine the reasonable range of the inclination angle. The results show that when the inclination angle ranges between 8° and 10°, the first, third, and sixth natural frequencies of the structure are increased. It effectively improves the lateral and torsional stiffness of the arch ribs while ensuring optimal out-of-plane stability of the arch ribs. Compared with the parallel arch, the stability is improved by 20.2%. The effects of angle variation on displacement and internal force of the arch ribs were not significant. Considering all indicators, the optimal range of the inclination angle for the arch ribs of 300-m-level highway CFST arch bridges is suggested to be 8~10°. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents a SOI piezoresistive pressure sensor with the crossbeam membrane. The roots of the crossbeam were widened, which solved the problem of the poor dynamic performance of small-range pressure sensors working at a high temperature of 200 °C. A theoretical model was established to optimize the proposed structure, which combined the finite element and the curve fitting. Using the theoretical model, the structural dimensions were optimized to obtain the optimal sensitivity. During optimization, the sensor nonlinearity was also taken into consideration. The sensor chip was fabricated by MEMS bulk-micromachining technology, and Ti/Pt/Au metal leads were prepared to improve the sensor ability of high-temperature resistance over a long time. The sensor chip was packaged and tested, and the experimental results show the sensor achieved an accuracy of 0.241% FS, nonlinearity of 0.180% FS, hysteresis of 0.086% FS and repeatability of 0.137% FS at the high temperature. The connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) is promised to ease congestion in the future with the rapid development of related technologies in recent years. To explore the characteristics of mixed-traffic flow and the dynamic transmission mechanism, this paper firstly detailed the car-following model of different vehicle types, establishing the fundamental diagram of the mixed-traffic flow through considering the different penetration rates and fleet size of CAV. Secondly, this paper constructed the lane-changing judgment mechanism based on the random utility theory. Finally, the paper proposed a lane-level dynamic cell transmission process, combined with a lane-changing strategy and cell transmission model. The effectiveness and feasibility of the model are verified using simulation analysis. This model makes a systematic, theoretical analysis from the perspective of the internal operation mechanism of traffic flow, and the lane-level traffic strategy provides a theoretical basis for balancing urban lane distribution and intelligent traffic management and control. This paper presents a cryogenic 8-bit 32 MS/s successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) which operates down to 4.2 K. This work uses a modified liquid helium temperature (LHT) SMIC 0.18 μm CMOS technology to support the post-layout simulation. The proposed architecture adopts an offset-promoted dynamic comparator, waveform shaping circuit and true single-phase clock (TSPC) based sar logic circuit to achieve high realizing frequency and low power dissipation. At 1.8-V supply, 1.7 V input amplitude and 32 MS/s sampling frequency, the ADC achieves a power consumption of 2.4 mW and a signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR) of 47.7 dB, obtaining a figure of merit (FOM) of 378 fJ/conversion-step. The consequent-pole (CP) Vernier permanent-magnet (VPM) machine has been developed over the last decade. In VPM machine, the CP structure can produce considerable torque with a half volumn of the PMs compared with the regular structure, so the cost is reduced and the mechanical strength is increased. In this paper, an improvement of chamfering structure on a CPVPM machine is proposed to alleviate the flux leakage and increase the torque density. The chamfered structure is easily machined and will not influence the robustness of the rotor. The comparison results show that under the same volume and copper loss constraint, the proposed structure has smaller cogging torque, smaller torque ripple, larger torque density and larger power factor. The high-frequency electromagnetic noise caused by a frequency converter power supply has become the main composition of the vibration and noise of frequency-converter-driven PMSMs. Determining how to reduce this kind of noise is very important to improve motor performance. This paper analyzes the frequency characteristics of the high-frequency noise generated by an inverter, using the magnetic circuit analysis and Maxwell tensor methods. The switching frequency and the natural frequencies of the main modes are optimized according to the modal characteristics of the motor in order to reduce the vibration and noise of the motor. The results show that the high-frequency electromagnetic vibration and noise generated by the inverter is mainly caused by the high-frequency switching harmonic current. The frequencies of the vibration and noise are related to the switching frequency and the modulation wave frequency. At the same time, the simulation calculation of the natural frequencies of the main modes and the noise spectrum obtained from the experiment provide direction for the optimization of the vibration noise near the switching frequency. The switching frequency optimization and the natural frequency optimization based on the main modes of the motor can effectively reduce vibration and noise. Vibration dampers are widely used in power transmission line vibration reduction. In order to use them for wind-induced vortex-induced vibration (VIV) suppression of jacket pipes, the effect of the vibration dampers on the vortex-induced force is studied using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. The range of Reynolds numbers in simulations is in the critical interval, and the Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) equations and shear stress transport (SST) k-ω turbulence model are used to calculate the pipe with vibration dampers. The lift coefficient of the pipe is reduced by about 65% after the vibration dampers are installed. The effect of vibration dampers on the lift force and drag force is little affected by the change of wind speed. The same number of vibration dampers are installed in two rows, and the vortex shedding frequency is reduced by about 16% compared with that for one row. The vibration dampers destroy the wake vortex of the high-velocity areas around the pipe, thereby reducing the pipe's lift coefficient and the vortex-induced force. Simple Summary: Although surgery has been recognized as the cornerstone of treatment for patients with resectable thymic epithelial tumors, the role of postoperative radiotherapy remains controversial. We performed this SEER-based propensity-matched analysis to investigate the prognostic value of postoperative radiotherapy in thymoma and thymic carcinoma. The results showed that postoperative radiotherapy improved both overall survival and cancer-specific survival in patients with Masaoka-Koga stage IIB–IV thymoma. This study is the first to demonstrate the prognostic value of postoperative radiotherapy in stage IIB thymic carcinoma. This large, up-to-date population-based longitudinal study may provide guidance on the use of postoperative radiotherapy for a thymoma or thymic carcinoma. (1) Objectives: The effect of postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) for thymoma and thymic carcinoma remains controversial. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of PORT for thymoma and thymic carcinoma in a population-based registry. (2) Methods: This retrospective study used the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to identify patients diagnosed with thymoma and thymic carcinoma between 2010 and 2019. Propensity score matching was performed to adjust statistical influences between the PORT and non-PORT groups. (3) Results: A total of 2558 patients with thymoma (n = 2138) or thymic carcinoma (n = 420) were included. In the multivariate analysis, PORT was an independent prognostic factor for OS (overall survival; p < 0.001) and CSS (cancer-specific survival; p = 0.001) in thymoma and an independent prognostic factor for OS in thymic carcinoma (p = 0.018). Subgroup analyses revealed that PORT was beneficial to OS and CSS in patients with Masaoka-Koga stage IIB-IV thymoma (OS: IIB, p < 0.001; III-IV, p = 0.005; CSS: IIB, p = 0.015; III-IV, p = 0.002) and stage IIB thymic carcinoma (OS: p = 0.012; CSS: p = 0.029). (4) Conclusion: This propensity-matched analysis identified the prognostic value of PORT in thymoma and thymic carcinoma based on the SEER database. For patients with stage IIB-IV thymoma and stage IIB thymic carcinoma, PORT was associated with improved OS and CSS. Heat treatment can improve performance and control quality in the additive manufacturing process. In the numerical simulation of heat treatment, the accuracy of the heat transfer coefficient will have a significant impact on the accuracy of the simulated temperature field. At present, The inverse analysis method is the most common and effective method to determine the heat transfer coefficient. Taking the actual temperature curve as the input condition, the heat transfer coefficient values of the heating, quenching, and air cooling components in the heat treatment process are successfully obtained. Based on the obtained heat transfer coefficient, a mathematical model of the heat transfer coefficient change with temperature during heat treatment is established. The heat transfer coefficient obtained by the inverse analysis method is then applied to the simulation of heat treatment, and more accurate simulation results are obtained. Colletotrichum species are important plant pathogens, causing anthracnose in virtually every crop grown throughout the world. However, little is known about the species that infect watermelon. A total of 526 strains were isolated from diseased watermelon samples of eight major watermelon growing provinces in China. Phylogenetic analyses using seven loci (ITS, gadph, chs-1, his3, act, tub2, and gs) coupled with morphology of 146 representative isolates showed that they belonged to 12 known species of Colletotrichum, including C. aenigma, C. chlorophyti, C. fructicola, C. jiangxiense, C. karstii, C. magnum, C. nymphaeae, C. nigrum, C. orbiculare, C. plurivorum, C. sojae, and C. truncatum and three new species, here described as C. citrulli, C. kaifengense, and C. qilinense. Colletotrichum orbiculare was the dominant species. Pathogenicity tests revealed that all isolates of the species described above were pathogenic, with C. magnum and C. kaifengense being the most aggressive to leaves and fruits, respectively. This is the first report of C. aenigma, C. chlorophyti, C. fructicola, C. jiangxiense, C. nymphaeae, C. nigrum, C. plurivorum, and C. sojae on watermelon. These findings shed light on the Colletotrichum spp. involved in watermelon anthracnose and provide useful information for implementing effective control of watermelon anthracnose in China. Vernier permanent-magnet machines have been attracted more and more attention because of their high torque density. In this paper, the sensorless control strategy of the novel axially magnetized Vernier permanent-magnet (AMVPM) machine is presented. First, the inductance non-linearity is investigated under different load conditions. Second, the mathematical model is established in cooperation with the finite element method. After that, the back electromotive force based sensorless control strategy is developed according to the state equation of the motor. In the sensorless drive, the model reference adaptive system (MRAS) technique incorporated with the inductance non-linearity is used for the speed estimation. The modified control strategy not only increases the stability but also improves the dynamic response of the system. Finally, the simulation results show that the modified MRAS is of high estimation precision, and the AMVPM machine can be well controlled, and the experimental results validated the theoretical design process. FeO is a low-price material with high charge storage capacity, biocompatibility and other characteristics. It has been applied in the fields of catalysts, capacitors, electrodes and composite materials. However, the current method of preparing FeO needs to control the temperature and reducing atmosphere, which increase the production difficulty and cost. In this experiment, the molten salt electrolysis method was used to prepare FeO by using the NaCl-KCl molten salt system and Fe2O3 and Al2O3 as raw materials, and the influence of temperature on the preparation process was explored. The results showed that the electrolysis process of Fe2O3 to FeO is mainly divided into the following three stages: the electric double-layer charging process, Fe2O3 to Fe3O4 process and Fe3O4 to FeO process. The increase in temperature can improve the reaction speed and strengthen the electrolysis effect. The higher the temperature, the less Fe3O4 and more FeO in the sample. Through analysis, it was found that the increase in temperature will affect the theoretical voltage of the electrolytic reaction in thermodynamics, resulting in the increase in the overall potential provided by the power supply. The aim of this paper is to investigate the vibration suppression effect of a nonlinear energy sink (NES) on the wind-vortex-induced vibration of deep-water jacket pipes. Based on nonlinear dynamical theories, the coupled dynamic equation of a deep-water jacket pipe with NES was established, and the nonlinear response characteristics and motion stability of the system were studied by using the multi-scale mixed harmonic balance method and Routh–Hurwitz criterion. The paper also analyzed the influence of the nonlinear stiffness and damping parameters of an NES on the dynamic response of the pipe. It is concluded that when the nonlinear stiffness of an NES increases to a certain extent, the motion response of the pipe appeared as a saddle-node and Hopf bifurcation, and the vibration amplitude of the pipe is greatly suppressed. For a system with nonlinear motion, NES damping mainly affects the range of the unstable region. For the system without nonlinear motion, the increases in NES damping will reduce the amplitude near the resonance region. In the Luzhou Block of the southern Sichuan Basin, the deep Longmaxi shales have become important exploration targets in recent years. However, the water-bearing properties of these shales are still unclear, which significantly limits evaluations of reservoir pore structures and gas-in-place (GIP) contents. In this study, twelve fresh shale core samples were collected at the well site, and the pore water (CPW) and equilibrium water (CEW) contents, as well as the pore structures of the shales, were analyzed under both as-received and dried conditions. The results indicate that the deep shales have low water-bearing extents with a pore water content (CPW) of 3.82–16.67 mg/g, and that both the organic matter (OM) and inorganic matter (IM) pores can be used for pore water storage. The extent of influence of pore water on nonmicropores and IM pore structures is more significant than that on micropores and OM pore structures. Meanwhile, the pore water obviously reduces the retention effects of nanopores and may block nanopores with pore widths < 0.5 nm. An average of 40% of pore spaces were taken up by pore water in the studied deep shales in the Luzhou Block, and the residual pore surface area and pore volume of the shales were mainly contributed from micropores and nonmicropores, respectively. TL- φ algorithms are newly developed explicit structure-dependent integration algorithms utilized for solving the temporally discretized equations of motion. In contrast to the existing algorithms, the most significant improvement of TL- φ algorithms is in diminishing the amount of period errors by introducing a precorrection coefficient φ into the integration parameters of TL- φ algorithms, which is related to the critical frequency of a system. In the previous work, the fundamental frequency of the system is deemed to be the critical frequency, so that φ is a constant scaling corresponding to the fundamental frequency for both single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) and multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) systems. However, for a MDOF system, the first mode may not contribute to the total response more than other ones under a given external excitation, calculating φ only by the fundamental frequency will underestimate the contribution of the higher-frequency modes to structural dynamics. In this paper, choices of the critical frequency for φ when applying TL- φ algorithms to MDOF systems are investigated thoroughly. By considering the initial structural properties of the system and the frequency characteristics of the external excitation simultaneously, a calculation criterion of φ for MDOF systems under specific external excitations is proposed. Four numerical examples with different initial structure properties and loading conditions are designed, and the results demonstrate that the proposed criterion can be potentially used to solve structural dynamic problems of MDOF systems with a more desirable numerical dispersion performance. Colletotrichum is regarded as one of the 10 most important genera of plant pathogens in the world. It causes diseases in a wide range of economically important plants, including peaches. China is the largest producer of peaches in the world but little is known about the Colletotrichum spp. affecting the crop. In 2017 and 2018, a total of 286 Colletotrichum isolates were isolated from symptomatic fruit and leaves in 11 peach production provinces of China. Based on multilocus phylogenetic analyses (ITS, ACT, CAL, CHS-1, GAPDH, TUB2, and HIS3) and morphological characterization, the isolates were identified to be C. nymphaeae, C. fioriniae, and C. godetiae of the C. acutatum species complex, C. fructicola and C. siamense of the C. gloeosporioides species complex, C. karsti of the C. boninense species complex, and one newly identified species, C. folicola sp. nov. This study is the first report of C. karsti and C. godetiae in peaches, and the first report of C. nymphaeae, C. fioriniae, C. fructicola, and C. siamense in peaches in China. C. nymphaeae is the most prevalent species of Colletotrichum in peaches in China, which may be the result of fungicide selection. Pathogenicity tests revealed that all species found in this study were pathogenic on both the leaves and fruit of peaches, except for C. folicola, which only infected the leaves. Robot hand is the device used for robots to interact with the environments, it has many potential applications. Traditional robot hands cannot translate their finger end along a straight line, which makes them not suitable for grasping thin objects on a flat surface. In order to overcome the bottleneck of traditional hands and enlarge the application possibility of robot hands, this paper develops a novel hybrid grasping modes hand with the variable geometrical structure (called VGS hand). The hand consists of 4-DOF (degree of freedom), two actuators and two fingers. It can perform both linear-parallel and self-adaptive grasping modes. Kinematics, dynamics, and contact forces analysis are conducted to provide a theoretical reference for the design. A prototype was manufactured for grasping experiments; the results of the experiments indicate that the hand has a good grasping performance and can meet different application requirements. Frequency security is vital to the safety of power systems and has been scrutinized for many years. The conventional frequency security analysis only checks whether the frequency after anticipated initial failures can remain in the normal range based on some aggregated models, but the influence of potential cascading failures has not been considered yet. This is not enough, especially when the modern power system suffers the increasing threat of cascading failures. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel frequency simulation model considering the influence of cascading failure to reveal the security level of power systems comprehensively. The proposed model is based on a platform on which the frequency dynamics and the power flow distributions can be calculated jointly. Moreover, simulation models of protection devices and some supervisory operation-control schemes are also taken into account. Case studies validate the effectiveness of the proposed model on the IEEE 39-bus system. Moreover, the results of some further probabilistic simulations under different operation parameters are obtained, which show the great significance of improving the frequency regulation performance to cope with challenges of blackouts. High-performance yarns are widely used to produce protective fabrics, including stab-resistant materials. The most common approach to studying the mechanism of puncture prevention is to use simulation to assist analysis. However, the anisotropy of the yarn is often overlooked during simulation owing to various factors. In fact, there is a marked difference between the axial and radial properties of a yarn. This may lead to large errors in research. In the present study, a composite material with a grid structure for puncture analysis was designed to investigate the influence of yarn anisotropy on the accuracy of simulation results. The present study combined an actual experiment with a simulation. In the actual experiment, Kevlar yarn/epoxy resin was used to prepare a mesh composite with a spacing of 1 mm. In the simulation, a 1:1 simulation model of composite material was established using finite element software. A simulated puncture experiment was conducted based on the actual experimental conditions and material parameters. After considering yarn anisotropy, the simulation results were closer to the actual experimental results. The simulation revealed that the main failure modes of the mesh material were the fracture of the resin and the bending deformation of the yarns at the junctions, while the surrounding areas were almost unaffected. Currently, Luzhou in the Sichuan Basin is a focal point for shale-gas exploration and development in China. However, a lack of detailed research on the mineral composition of the Wufeng Formation-Longmaxi Formation (WF-LF) shale is hindering the extraction of deep-buried shale gas in the Luzhou shale play. Herein, a field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) equipped with the Advanced Mineral Identification and Characterization System (AMICS) software was employed to analyze the mineral composition of the WF-LF shale from six wells in Luzhou. Quartz was the dominant mineral type, (16.9–87.21%, average 51.33%), followed by illite, calcite, dolomite, and pyrite. Our study revealed that (1) quartz content showed a moderate positive correlation with the total organic carbon (TOC) content, indicating that the quartz found in the shale is mostly of biological origin; and (2) the sum content of siliceous minerals and carbonaceous minerals was moderately positively correlated with the brittleness index (BRIT) in well SS1H2-7 and in the well group of RS8 and RS5, indicating that the siliceous minerals and carbonaceous minerals had an active effect on reservoir compressibility. In this study, shale cores from 20 wells in the S1l11-1 sublayer of Longmaxi Formation buried in shallow shale (<3500 m) and deep shale (>3500 m) in the southern Sichuan Basin, China were collected to compare their pore structures and gas-bearing properties using multiple experiments. Results showed that the deep layer has relatively lower brittle mineral content, which is disadvantageous in terms of the higher requirements it imposes on hydraulic fracturing. Results also showed that the most important factor controlling the differential enrichment of S1l11-1 shale gas in southern Sichuan Basin is porosity. Moreover, the porosity composition of shallow shale and deep shale has significant differences: the porosity of shallow shale is dominated by organic pores, while for deep shale, both organic and inorganic pores are important. The inorganic pores provide significant storage space for free gas in deep shale; their contribution warrants more attention. We also found that the difference in organic porosity of the shallow and deep shale samples resulted from large differences in pore development ability, while the highest inorganic porosity was concentrated near the optimal mineral composition when the content of quartz plus feldspar plus pyrite was about 70%. This study revealed the primary factor controlling the difference in gas content between shallow and deep shale and detailed the characteristics of microscopic pore structure, providing a basis for the exploration and development of deep shale gas in the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation in the southern Sichuan Basin. Small-spacing twin-well (SSTW) salt caverns have an extensive application prospect in thin or bedded rock salt formations due to their good performance, while they are rarely used in ultra-deep formations. The target strata depth of Pingdingshan salt mine is over 1700 m, and it is planned to apply an SSTW cavern to construct the underground gas storage (UGS). A 3D geomechanical model considering the viscoelastic plasticity of the rock mass is introduced into Flac3D to numerically study the influence of internal gas pressure, cavern upper shape and well spacing on the stability of an SSTW salt cavern for Pingdingshan UGS. A set of assessment indices is summarized for the stability of gas storage. The results show that the minimum internal gas pressure is no less than 14 MPa, and the cavern should not be operated under constant low gas pressure for a long time. The cavern with an upper height of 70 m is recommended for Pingdingshan gas storage based on the safety evaluation and maximum volume. The well spacing has a limited influence on the stability of the salt cavern in view of the volume shrinkage and safety factor. Among the values of 10 m, 20 m and 30 m, the well spacing of 20 m is recommended for Pingdingshan gas storage. In addition, when the cavern groups are constructed, the pillar width on the short axis should be larger than that on the long axis due to its greater deformation in this direction. The Nanfengmiju (Citrus reticulata cv. Nanfengmiju), a high-quality local variety of mandarin, is one of the major fruit crops in Jiangxi Province, China. Citrus melanose and stem-end rot, two common fungal diseases of Nanfengmiju, are both caused by Diaporthe spp. (syn. Phomopsis spp.). Identification of the Diaporthe species is essential for epidemiological studies, quarantine measures, and management of diseases caused by these fungi. Melanose disease was observed on Nanfengmiju fruit in Jiangxi Province of China in 2016. Based on morphological characterization and multi-locus phylogenetic analyses, three out of 39 isolates from diseased samples were identified as D. passifloricola. Since these three isolates did not cause melanose on citrus fruit in the pathogenicity tests, they were presumed to be endophytic fungi present in the diseased tissues. However, our results indicate that D. passifloricola may persist as a symptom-less endophyte in the peel of citrus fruit, yet it may cause stem-end if it invades the stem end during fruit storage. The thermal-hydraulic performance in a novel annular tube formed by outer straight and inner twisted oval tubes is numerically investigated. An annular tube formed by two straight oval tubes is also studied for comparison. Inner twisted oval tubes with different aspect ratios and twist ratios are studied. The heat transfer is well improved by the symmetrical secondary flow in the annulus. The Nusselt number generally increases when the inner oval tube becomes flatter and the twists stronger in the studied range of geometrical parameters. The largest Nusselt number Nu of the inner twisted tube increases by 116% while the friction factor f increases by only 46% compared with that of the inner straight tube, and the largest value of the thermal performance factor (JF) can be up to 1.9. Correlations of the Nusselt number and friction factor are proposed for laminar and turbulent flows, and the deviations of the correlations are within ±5% and ±4% for Nu and f, respectively. The photoreduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) to valuable fuels is a promising strategy for the prevention of rising atmospheric levels of CO2 and the depletion of fossil fuel reserves. However, most reported photocatalysts are only active in the ultraviolet region, which necessitates co-catalysts and sacrificial agents in the reaction systems, leading to an unsatisfied economy of the process in energy and atoms. In this research, a CuMoxW(1-x)O4 solid solution was synthesized, characterized, and tested for the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 in the presence of amines. The results revealed that the yield of CH3OH from CO2 was 1017.7 μmol/g under 24 h visible light irradiation using CuW0.7Mo0.3O4 (x = 0.7) as the catalyst. This was associated with the maximum conversion (82.1%) of benzylamine to N-benzylidene benzylamine with high selectivity (>99%). Melanose disease caused by Diaporthe citri is considered as one of the most important and destructive diseases of citrus worldwide. In this study, isolates from melanose samples were obtained and analyzed. Firstly, the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences were used to measure Diaporthe-like boundary species. Then, a subset of thirty-eight representatives were selected to perform the phylogenetic analysis with combined sequences of ITS, beta-tubulin gene (TUB), translation elongation factor 1-α gene (TEF), calmodulin gene (CAL), and histone-3 gene (HIS). As a result, these representative isolates were identified belonging to D. citri, D. citriasiana, D. discoidispora, D. eres, D. sojae, and D. unshiuensis. Among these species, the D. citri was the predominant species that could be isolated at highest rate from different melanose diseased tissues. The morphological characteristics of representative isolates of D. citri were investigated on different media. Finally, a molecular tool based on the novel species-specific primer pair TUBDcitri-F1/TUBD-R1, which was designed from TUB gene, was developed to detect D. citri efficiently. A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplicon of 217 bp could be specifically amplified with the developed molecular tool. The sensitivity of the novel species-specific detection was upon to 10 pg of D. citri genomic DNA in a reaction. Most of time series deriving from complex systems in real life is non-stationary, where the data distribution would be influenced by various internal/external factors such that the contexts are persistently changing. Therefore, the concept drift detection of time series has practical significance. In this paper, a novel method called online entropy-based time domain feature extraction (ETFE) for concept drift detection is proposed. Firstly, the empirical mode decomposition based on extrema symmetric extension is used to decompose time series, where features in various time scales can be adaptively extracted. Meanwhile, the end point effect caused by traditional empirical mode decomposition can be avoided. Secondly, by using the entropy calculation, the time-domain features are coarse-grained to quantify the structure and complexity of the time series, among which six kinds of entropy are used for discussion. Finally, a statistical process control method based on generalized likelihood ratio is used to monitor the change of the entropy, which can effectively track the mean and amplitude of the time series. Therefore, the early alarm of concept drift can be given. Synthetic data sets and neonatal electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings with seizures annotations data sets are used to validate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method. For an AC-stacked photovoltaic (PV) inverter system with N cascaded inverters, existing control methods require at least N communication links to acquire the grid synchronization signal. In this paper, a novel decentralized control is proposed. For N inverters, only one inverter nearest the point of common coupling (PCC) needs a communication link to acquire the grid voltage phase and all other N − 1 inverters use only local measured information to achieved fully decentralized local control. Specifically, one inverter with a communication link utilizes the grid voltage phase and adopts current control mode to achieve a required power factor (PF). All other inverters need only local information without communication links and adopt voltage control mode to achieve maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and self-synchronization with grid voltage. Compared with existing methods, the communication link and complexity is greatly reduced, thus improved reliability and reduced communication costs are achieved. This paper proposes a communication-free decentralized control for grid-connected cascaded PV inverter systems. The cascaded PV inverter system is an AC-stacked architecture, which promotes the integration of low voltage (LV) distributed photovoltaic (PV) generators into the medium/high voltage (MV/HV) power grid. The proposed decentralized control is fully free of communication links and phase-locked loop (PLL). All cascaded inverters are controlled as current controlled voltage sources locally and independently to achieve maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and frequency self-synchronization with the power grid. As a result, control complexity as well as communication costs are reduced, and the system’s reliability is greatly enhanced compared with existing communication-based methods. System stability and dynamic performance are evaluated by small-signal analysis to guide the design of system parameters. Suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) is a cytokine-induced negative feedback-loop regulator of cytokine signaling. More and more evidence has proved it to be an inhibitor of signal transducers and activators of transcription 5 (STAT5). Here, we used dairy cow mammary epithelial cells (DCMECs) to analyze the function of SOCS3 and the interaction between SOCS3 and STAT5a. The expression of SOCS3 was found in cytoplasm and nucleus of DCMECs by fluorescent immunostaining. Overexpression and inhibition of SOCS3 brought a remarkable milk protein synthesis change through the regulation of JAK2/STAT5a pathway activity, and SOCS3 expression also decreased SREBP-1c expression and fatty acid synthesis. Inhibited STAT5a activation correlated with reduced SOCS3 expression, which indicated that SOCS3 gene might be one of the targets of STAT5a activation, DCMECs treated with L-methionine (Met) resulted in a decrease of SOCS3 expression. SOCS3 could also decrease cell proliferation and viability by CASY-TT detection. Together, our findings indicate that SOCS3 acts as an inhibitor of JAK2/STAT5a pathway and disturbs fatty acid synthesis by decreasing SREBP-1c expression, which validates its involvement in both milk protein synthesis and fat synthesis. In aggregate, these results reveal that low SOCS3 expression is required for milk synthesis and proliferation of DCMECs in vitro.

High-speed counter-current chromatography (HSCCC) was applied for the first time for the preparative separation of spirobisnaphthalenes from a crude extract of the endophytic fungus Berkleasmium sp. Dzf12, associated with the medicinal plant Dioscorea zingiberensis. Six spirobisnaphthalenes were successfully separated by HSCCC with a two-phase solvent system composed of n-hexane-chloroform-methanol-water (1.5:3.0:2.5:2.0, v/v). About 18.0 mg of diepoxin κ (1), 245.7 mg of palmarumycin C13 (2), 42.4 mg of palmarumycin C16 (3), 42.2 mg of palmarumycin C15 (4), 32.6 mg of diepoxin δ (5), and 22.3 mg of diepoxin γ (6) with purities of 56.82, 71.39, 76.57, 75.86, 91.01 and 82.48%, respectively, as determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), were obtained from 500 mg of the crude extract in a one-step elution within 7 h of separation procedure by HSCCC. The purified spirobisnaphthalenes were further structurally characterized by means of physicochemical and spectrometric analysis.

Halimodendron halodendron has been used as forage in northwestern China for a long time. Its young leaves and flowers are edible and favored by indigenous people. In this study, eleven phenolic compounds were bioassay-guided and isolated from the aerial parts of H. halodendron for the first time. They were identified by means of physicochemical and spectrometric analysis as quercetin (1), 3,5,7,8,4'-pentahydroxy-3'-methoxy flavone (2), 3-O-methylquercetin (3), 3,3'-di-O-methylquercetin (4), 3,3'-di-O-methylquercetin-7-O-β-d-glucopyranoside (5), isorhamentin-3-O-β-d-rutinoside (6), 8-O-methylretusin (7), 8-O-methylretusin-7-O-β-d-glucopyranoside (8), salicylic acid (9), p-hydroxybenzoic acid (ferulic acid) (10), and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamic acid (11). They were sorted as flavonols (1-6), soflavones (7 and 8), and phenolic acids (9-11). Among the compounds, flanools 1-4 revealed a strong antibacterial activity with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of 50-150 μg/mL, and median inhibitory concentration (IC(50)) values of 26.8-125.1 μg/mL. The two isoflavones (7 and 8) showed moderate inhibitory activity on the test bacteria. Three phenolic acids (9, 10 and 11) showed strong antibacterial activity with IC(50) values of 28.1-149.7 μg/mL. Antifungal activities of the compounds were similar to their antibacterial activities. All these phenolic compounds showed significant antimicrobial activity with a broad spectrum as well as antioxidant activity based on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and β-carotene-linoleic acid bleaching assays. In general, the flavonol aglycones with relatively low polarity exhibited stronger activities than the glycosides. The results suggest the potential of this plant as a source of functional food ingredients and provide support data for its utilization as forage as well.
