There is increasing focus on applying deep learning methods to electrocardiograms (ECGs), with recent studies showing that neural networks (NNs) can predict future heart failure or atrial fibrillation from the ECG alone. However, large numbers of ECGs are needed to train NNs, and many ECGs are currently only in paper format, which are not suitable for NN training. We developed a fully-automated online ECG digitisation tool to convert scanned paper ECGs into digital signals. Using automated horizontal and vertical anchor point detection, the algorithm automatically segments the ECG image into separate images for the 12 leads and a dynamical morphological algorithm is then applied to extract the signal of interest. We then validated the performance of the algorithm on 515 digital ECGs, of which 45 were printed, scanned and redigitised. The automated digitisation tool achieved 99.0% correlation between the digitised signals and the ground truth ECG (n = 515 standard 3-by-4 ECGs) after excluding ECGs with overlap of lead signals. Without exclusion, the performance of average correlation was from 90 to 97% across the leads on all 3-by-4 ECGs. There was a 97% correlation for 12-by-1 and 3-by-1 ECG formats after excluding ECGs with overlap of lead signals. Without exclusion, the average correlation of some leads in 12-by-1 ECGs was 60–70% and the average correlation of 3-by-1 ECGs achieved 80–90%. ECGs that were printed, scanned, and redigitised, our tool achieved 96% correlation with the original signals. We have developed and validated a fully-automated, user-friendly, online ECG digitisation tool. Unlike other available tools, this does not require any manual segmentation of ECG signals. Since 2000, there have been more than 8000 publications on radiology artificial intelligence (AI). AI breakthroughs allow complex tasks to be automated and even performed beyond human capabilities. However, the lack of details on the methods and algorithm code undercuts its scientific value. Many science subfields have recently faced a reproducibility crisis, eroding trust in processes and results, and influencing the rise in retractions of scientific papers. For the same reasons, conducting research in deep learning (DL) also requires reproducibility. Although several valuable manuscript checklists for AI in medical imaging exist, they are not focused specifically on reproducibility. In this study, we conducted a systematic review of recently published papers in the field of DL to evaluate if the description of their methodology could allow the reproducibility of their findings. We focused on the Journal of Digital Imaging (JDI), a specialized journal that publishes papers on AI and medical imaging. We used the keyword "Deep Learning" and collected the articles published between January 2020 and January 2022. We screened all the articles and included the ones which reported the development of a DL tool in medical imaging. We extracted the reported details about the dataset, data handling steps, data splitting, model details, and performance metrics of each included article. We found 148 articles. Eighty were included after screening for articles that reported developing a DL model for medical image analysis. Five studies have made their code publicly available, and 35 studies have utilized publicly available datasets. We provided figures to show the ratio and absolute count of reported items from included studies. Fruit recognition and location are the premises of robot automatic picking. YOLOv3 has been used to detect different fruits in complex environment. However, for the object with definite features, the complex network structure will increase the computing time and may cause overfitting. Therefore, this paper has carried out a lightweight design for the YOLOv3. This paper proposed an improved T-Net to detect tomato images. Firstly, the T-Net reduces the residual network layers. This paper changed the number of cycles in each group of the residual unit to 1, 2, 2, 1, and 1. Second, two feature layers with different scales are selected according to the features of tomatoes. Meanwhile, the convolutional layer at the neck has been reduced by two layers. Finally, the location and approximate diameter of the ripe tomato are obtained by combining the node information of the Intel D435i camera and T-Net in the Robot Operation System. T-Net obtains mean average precision (mAP) of 99.2%, F1-score of 98.9%, precision of 99.0%, and recall of 98.8% at a detection rate of 104.2 FPS. The proposed T-Net has outperformed the YOLOv3 with 0.4%, 0.1%, and 0.2% increase in precision, mAP, and F1-score. The detection speed of T-Net is 1.8 times faster than YOLOv3. The mean errors of the center coordinates and diameter of the tomato are 8.5 mm and 2.5 mm, respectively. This model provides a method for efficient real-time detection and location of tomatoes. In the petroleum and coal industries, digital image technology and acoustic emission technology are employed to study rock properties, but both exhibit flaws during data processing. Digital image technology is vulnerable to interference from fractures and scaling, leading to potential loss of image data; while acoustic emission technology is not hindered by these issues, noise from rock destruction can interfere with the electrical signals, causing errors. The monitoring errors of these techniques can undermine the effectiveness of rock damage analysis. To address this issue, this paper focuses on the restoration of image data acquired through digital image technology, leveraging deep learning techniques, and using soft and hard rocks made of similar materials as research subjects, an improved Incremental Transformer image algorithm is employed to repair distorted or missing strain nephograms during uniaxial compression experiments. The concrete implementation entails using a comprehensive training set of strain nephograms derived from digital image technology, fabricating masks for absent image segments, and predicting strain nephograms with full strain detail. Additionally, we adopt deep separable convolutional networks to optimize the algorithm's operational efficiency. Based on this, the analysis of rock damage is conducted using the repaired strain nephograms, achieving a closer correlation with the actual physical processes of rock damage compared to conventional digital image technology and acoustic emission techniques. The improved incremental Transformer algorithm presented in this paper will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of digital image technology in the realm of rock damage, saving time and money, and offering an innovative approach to traditional rock damage analysis. Breast cancer (BC) is the leading cause of death among women worldwide. It affects in general women older than 40 years old. Medical images analysis is one of the most promising research areas since it provides facilities for diagnosis and decision-making of several diseases such as BC. This paper conducts a Structured Literature Review (SLR) of the use of Machine Learning (ML) and Image Processing (IP) techniques to deal with BC imaging. A set of 530 papers published between 2000 and August 2019 were selected and analyzed according to ten criteria: year and publication channel, empirical type, research type, medical task, machine learning techniques, datasets used, validation methods, performance measures and image processing techniques which include image pre-processing, segmentation, feature extraction and feature selection. Results showed that diagnosis was the most used medical task and that Deep Learning techniques (DL) were largely used to perform classification. Furthermore, we found out that classification was the most ML objective investigated followed by prediction and clustering. Most of the selected studies used Mammograms as imaging modalities rather than Ultrasound or Magnetic Resonance Imaging with the use of public or private datasets with MIAS as the most frequently investigated public dataset. As for image processing techniques, the majority of the selected studies pre-process their input images by reducing the noise and normalizing the colors, and some of them use segmentation to extract the region of interest with the thresholding method. For feature extraction, we note that researchers extracted the relevant features using classical feature extraction techniques (e.g. Texture features, Shape features, etc.) or DL techniques (e. g. This paper aims to propose a table tennis target detection (TD) method based on deep learning (DL) and multi-scale feature fusion (MFF) to improve the detection accuracy of the ball in table tennis competition, optimize the training process of athletes, and improve the technical level. In this paper, DL technology is used to improve the accuracy of table tennis TD through MFF guidance. Initially, based on the FAST Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (FAST R-CNN), the TD is carried out in the table tennis match. Then, through the method of MFF guidance, different levels of feature information are fused, which improves the accuracy of TD. Through the experimental verification on the test set, it is found that the mean Average Precision (mAP) value of the target detection algorithm (TDA) proposed here reaches 87.3%, which is obviously superior to other TDAs and has higher robustness. This paper thoroughly explores the role of object detection in smart cities, specifically focusing on advancements in deep learning-based methods. Deep learning models gain popularity for their autonomous feature learning, surpassing traditional approaches. Despite progress, challenges remain, such as achieving high accuracy in urban scenes and meeting real-time requirements. The study aims to contribute by analyzing state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms, identifying accurate models for smart cities, and evaluating real-time performance using the Average Precision at Medium Intersection over Union (IoU) metric. The reported results showcase various algorithms' performance, with Dynamic Head (DyHead) emerging as the top scorer, excelling in accurately localizing and classifying objects. Its high precision and recall at medium IoU thresholds signify robustness. The paper suggests considering the mean Average Precision (mAP) metric for a comprehensive evaluation across IoU thresholds, if available. Despite this, DyHead stands out as the superior algorithm, particularly at medium IoU thresholds, making it suitable for precise object detection in smart city applications. A neural network model needs to be manually designed for ancient mural dynasty recognition, and this paper proposes an ancient mural dynasty recognition algorithm that is based on a neural architecture search (NAS). First, the structural edge information of mural images is extracted for use by the neural network model in recognizing mural missions. Second, an NAS algorithm that is based on contrast selection (CS) simplifies the architecture search to an incremental CS and then searches for the optimal network architecture on the mural dataset. Finally, the identified optimal network architecture is used for training and testing to complete the mural dynasty recognition task. The results show that the top accuracy of the proposed method on the mural dataset is 88.10%, the recall rate is 87.52%, and the precision rate is 87.69%. Each evaluation index used by the neural network model is superior to that of classical network models such as AlexNet and ResNet-50. Compared with NAS methods such as ASNG and MIGO, the accuracy of mural dynasty recognition is higher by an average of 4.27% when using the proposed method. The proposed method is verified on CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, ImageNet16-120 and other datasets and achieves a good recognition accuracy in the NAS-bench-201 search space, which averages 93.26%, 70.73% and 45.34%, respectively, on the abovementioned datasets. With the advent of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), shifting data processing from cloud centers to the network edge presents an advanced computational paradigm for addressing latency-sensitive applications. Specifically, in radar systems, the real-time processing and prediction of radar echo data pose significant challenges in dynamic and resource-constrained environments. MEC, by processing data near its source, not only significantly reduces communication latency and enhances bandwidth utilization but also diminishes the necessity of transmitting large volumes of data to the cloud, which is crucial for improving the timeliness and efficiency of radar data processing. To meet this demand, this paper proposes a model that integrates a spatiotemporal Attention Module (STAM) with a Long Short-Term Memory Gated Recurrent Unit (ST-ConvLSGRU) to enhance the accuracy of radar echo prediction while leveraging the advantages of MEC. STAM, by extending the spatiotemporal receptive field of the prediction units, effectively captures key inter-frame motion information, while optimizations to the convolutional structure and loss function further boost the model's predictive performance. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach significantly improves the accuracy of short-term weather forecasting in a mobile edge computing environment, showcasing an efficient and practical solution for processing radar echo data under dynamic, resource-limited conditions. This paper proposes a bidirectional feature fusion pyramid (B-FPN) Single Shot Multiple Frame Detector (SSD) algorithm. First, a bidirectional feature pyramid (B-FPN) structure is constructed, which realizes the bidirectional fusion of the feature layers and improves the accuracy of detection. Second, we introduce coordinate attention (CA) to focus on the important channel features while preserving their location information, thereby increasing the focus on the important information. Finally, optimizing the loss function speeds up the convergence of the model and further improves the detection accuracy of the network. The experimental results show that on the VOC2007 dataset, the mAP of the algorithm in this paper is 76.48%, which is 3.52% higher than that of the SSD algorithm. On the COCO 2017 dataset, the mAP of the proposed algorithm is 3.85% higher than that of the SSD algorithm. Compared with other mainstream target detection algorithms, the algorithm in this paper has certain advantages in detection accuracy, and can also achieve satisfactory results in detection speed. Deep learning shows great potential in low-light image enhancement, which can improve image brightness and contrast while keeping image natural. However, due to the lack of prior knowledge extracted manually or excessive amplification of noise, these methods result in poor quality of enhanced images. To solve these challenging problems, this paper proposes a dual-branch grayscale image enhancement network based on dense residual and attention mechanism. Low-light grayscale image is used as input. Firstly, features that fuse deep and shallow information are extracted through dense residual convolution branch network; secondly, texture features are extracted through U-Net branch network combined with attention mechanism; then the extracted features are integrated, and finally luminance is adjusted by a brightness adjustment module to output an enhanced grayscale image. In addition, a joint loss function is designed to measure the network training loss from brightness, texture, contrast and noise. A large number of quantitative and qualitative experiments on LOL and VE-LOL datasets show that the proposed method improves Peak Signal to Noise Ratio Index and Structural Similarity Index by 19.65 - 59.76% and 5.61 - 85.53%, respectively, compared with EnlightenGAN, KinD++, RUAS, LLFlow, etc. The proposed method is superior to the most famous methods, thanks to the deep feature extraction and fusion capability of dense residual convolutional network and texture extraction capability of U-Net network combined with attention mechanism. The ridge beast is a beast placed on the ridge of the roof of ancient Chinese buildings, not only has a decorative function, and has a strict hierarchical meaning, the number and form of the ridge beast placed on different levels of buildings are strictly limited. The detection technology of ridge beast decorative parts has important application value in the fields of fine 3D reconstruction of ancient buildings, historical dating and cultural and tourism services. Aiming at the problem of poor detection performance of traditional detection algorithms due to high texture similarity and poor discrimination of ridge beast, this paper proposed an improved YOLOv3 based detection algorithm for ridge beast decorative pieces. In terms of basic network improvement, local features are aggregated to the deep separable convolution internal embedding summation layer, and point convolution is used to connect the channel information of original features and aggregated features, so as to expand the receptive field and learn more diverse features. The residual structure of the feature extraction network was constructed by using the convolution, and the extraction effect of the model on the fine-grained features of the ridge beast was optimized, so that the detection accuracy was improved. In the prediction head improvement of the model, the original linear structure was reconstructed, and the extrusion and excitation modules were introduced to model the channel relationship of multi-scale feature map, which suppressed the response of interference signals and made the feature more directivity. The parallel 1 × 1 and 3 × 3 convolution are used to construct a multi-size convolution structure, which enhances the semantic information extraction ability of the model and further improves the detection effect. Experiments were conducted on the constructed ridge-beast dataset, and the results showed that the mAP of the improved algorithm can reach 86.48%, which is 3.05% higher than YOLO-v3, and the model parameters are reduced by 70%, which has a better detection performance and can provide a reference for the automated detection of ancient building components. In this study, we conducted a Systematic Literature Review to extract and associate the algorithms and features that have been used in this area. Based on our search criteria, we retrieved 130 relevant studies from electronic databases between 1997 and 2021; we have selected 43 studies for further analysis using inclusion and exclusion criteria in Section 3.2. After 70 years of intricate development, machine learning, represented by deep learning, is based on the multilevel structure of the human brain and the layer-by-layer analysis and processing mechanism of neuron connection and interaction information. The powerful parallel information processing ability of self-adaptation and self-learning has allowed for breakthroughs in many fields, among which the most representative is image recognition. Therefore, this paper proposed optimizing the RBF algorithm with machine learning (ML) to improve the recognition rate of spectrum sensing. The results showed that the average detection success rates of the RBF algorithm were 93.62%, 95.07%, 96.91%, 98.78% and 99.37% when the SNRs were − 8 dB, − 4 dB, 0 dB, 4 dB and 8 dB, respectively, and the other conditions were kept the same. The average detection success rates of the SVM/RBF algorithm were 97.65%, 99.63%, 99.76%, 99.91% and 99.88%, respectively. The average detection success rate of the SVM/RBF algorithm was significantly higher than that of the RBF algorithm. This indicates that analyzing the RBF neural network algorithm through ML can improve the success rate of spectrum sensing, which highlights a new direction for the application of ML and neural networks. Distributed learning, as the most popular solution for training large-scale data for deep learning, consists of multiple participants collaborating on data training tasks. However, the malicious behavior of some during the training process, like Byzantine participants who would interrupt or control the learning process, will trigger the crisis of data security. Although recent existing defense mechanisms use the variability of Byzantine node gradients to clear Byzantine values, it is still unable to identify and then clear the delicate disturbance/attack. To address this critical issue, we propose an algorithm named consensus aggregation in this paper. This algorithm allows computational nodes to use the information of verification nodes to verify the effectiveness of the gradient in the perturbation attack, reaching a consensus based on the effective verification of the gradient. Then the server node uses the gradient as the valid gradient for gradient aggregation calculation through the consensus reached by other computing nodes. On the MNIST and CIFAR10 datasets, when faced with Drift attacks, the proposed algorithm outperforms common existing aggregation algorithms (Krum, Trimmed Mean, Bulyan), with accuracies of 93.3%, 94.06% (MNIST dataset), and 48.66%, 51.55% (CIFAR10 dataset), respectively. This is an improvement of 3.0%, 3.8% (MNIST dataset), and 19.0%, 26.1% (CIFAR10 dataset) over the current state-of-the-art methods, and successfully defended against other attack methods. Intelligent identification of the different lithology of outcrops has been a major research challenge in the field of geology. The manual identification of outcrop lithology is labor-intensive and lacks systematicity and consistency. Intelligent lithology identification based on deep convolutional neural networks can significantly reduce such workload and also serves as the foundation for intelligent outcrop research. In this paper, we propose a workflow based on the DeepLabV3+ semantic segmentation neural network algorithm. The algorithm can intelligently identify the lithology of outcrop photos obtained by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) oblique photography. Based on this workflow, we can complete the tasks of dataset creation, model training, intelligent identification of outcrop lithology, and model accuracy evaluation. The dataset used in this paper is composed of high-resolution photos of the Fugu Tiansheng Bridge Shihezi Formation profile collected by UAV, which are annotated with three major categories and five subcategories of lithology. Then, we input the data into four types of neural networks, including a fully convolutional network (FCN), SegNet, U-Net, and DeepLabV3+, for training. The results indicate that the recognition accuracies of the four neural network algorithms, FCN, SegNet, U-Net, and DeepLabV3+, for outcrop lithology classification tasks based on UAV oblique photography images are 90.81%, 90.44%, 92.03%, and 93.88%, respectively. Among such algorithms, the DeepLabV3+ semantic segmentation neural network algorithm is reliable and accurate, and can provide a basis for intelligent lithology recognition. Over the years the number of research publications per year is growing exponentially. Finding research papers of quality from the massive literature of relevant articles is a challenging and time-consuming task. The approaches in the latest literature address citation recommendation by utilizing large bibliographic information and use machine learning and deep learning methods for the task. These techniques clearly require a large amount of training data as well as machines with high processing power. To overcome these issues, we propose a novel method by modifying the popular hyperlink induced topic search (HITS), a web page ranking algorithm, as citation recommendation using hyperlink induced topic search (CR-HITS) that works on a directed and weighted heterogeneous bibliographic network containing diverse types of nodes and edges. We define effective scoring schemes for nodes and edges based on basic bibliographic information like citations of papers, number of publications of an author, etc. Given a few seed papers, the citation recommendation algorithm CR-HITS is run on small neighborhoods of the seed papers and hence the time taken by the execution is very small to yield the final recommendations. To the best of our knowledge, HITS has been used for the first time for the citation recommendation problem. We perform extensive experimentation on DBLP (version-11) and ACM (version-9) datasets and compare the results with many baseline methods in terms of MAP, MRR, and recall@N measures. The performance of the proposed algorithms is superior with respect to the MAP metric and matches the second best for the other two metrics. Since the top two algorithms use deep learning methods and use much larger bibliographic information including abstracts of the papers, we claim that our approach utilizes very low resources, yet yields recommendations that are very close to the top recommendations. As the scale and complexity of networks grow rapidly, management, maintenance, and optimization of them are becoming increasingly challenging tasks for network administrators. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) was introduced to facilitate these tasks as it offers logically centralized control, a global view of the network, and software-based traffic analysis, thus, it is widely adopted of SDN to manage large-scale networks. On the other hand, SDN is not immune to cyber attacks. In fact, its centralized architecture makes it more vulnerable to certain types of attacks, such as denial of service. Various attack mitigation strategies are proposed to strengthen the security of SDNs including statistical, threshold-based, and Machine Learning (ML) methods. Among them, Deep Learning (DL)-based models attained the best results as they were able to extract the complex relationship between input parameters and output that could not be achieved with other solutions. Hence, this paper presents a comprehensive survey of the literature on the utilization of different DL algorithms for the security of SDN. We first explain the types of attacks that SDNs are exposed to, then present papers that applied DL to detect and/or mitigate these attacks. We further discuss the public datasets used to train DL models and evaluate their advantages and disadvantages. Microwave imaging is one of the rapidly developing frontier disciplines in the field of modern medical imaging. The development of microwave imaging algorithms for reconstructing stroke images is discussed in this paper. Compared with traditional stroke detection and diagnosis techniques, microwave imaging has the advantages of low price and no ionizing radiation hazards. The research hotspots of microwave imaging algorithms in the field of stroke are mainly reflected in the design and improvement of microwave tomography, radar imaging, and deep learning imaging. However, the current research lacks the analysis and combing of microwave imaging algorithms. In this paper, the development of common microwave imaging algorithms is reviewed. The concept, research status, current research hotspots and difficulties, and future development trends of microwave imaging algorithms are systematically expounded. The microwave antenna is used to collect scattered signals, and a series of microwave imaging algorithms are used to reconstruct the stroke image. Ensuring the transparency of machine learning models is vital for their ethical application in various industries. There has been a concurrent trend of distributed machine learning designed to limit access to training data for privacy concerns. Such models, trained over horizontally or vertically partitioned data, present a challenge for explainable AI because the explaining party may have a biased view of background data or a partial view of the feature space. As a result, explanations obtained from different participants of distributed machine learning might not be consistent with one another, undermining trust in the product. This paper presents an Explainable Data Collaboration Framework based on a model-agnostic additive feature attribution algorithm (KernelSHAP) and Data Collaboration method of privacy-preserving distributed machine learning. In particular, we present three algorithms for different scenarios of explainability in Data Collaboration and verify their consistency with experiments on open-access datasets. Our results demonstrated a significant (by at least a factor of 1.75) decrease in feature attribution discrepancies among the users of distributed machine learning. The proposed method improves consistency among explanations obtained from different participants, which can enhance trust in the product and enable ethical application in various industries. Organs-at-risk contouring is time consuming and labour intensive. Automation by deep learning algorithms would decrease the workload of radiotherapists and technicians considerably. However, the variety of metrics used for the evaluation of deep learning algorithms make the results of many papers difficult to interpret and compare. In this paper, a qualitative evaluation is done on five established metrics to assess whether their values correlate with clinical usability. A total of 377 CT volumes with heart delineations were randomly selected for training and evaluation. A deep learning algorithm was used to predict the contours of the heart. A total of 101 CT slices from the validation set with the predicted contours were shown to three experienced radiologists. They examined each slice independently whether they would accept or adjust the prediction and if there were (small) mistakes. For each slice, the scores of this qualitative evaluation were then compared with the Sørensen-Dice coefficient (DC), the Hausdorff distance (HD), pixel-wise accuracy, sensitivity and precision. The statistical analysis of the qualitative evaluation and metrics showed a significant correlation. Of the slices with a DC over 0.96 (N = 20) or a 95% HD under 5 voxels (N = 25), no slices were rejected by the readers. Contours with lower DC or higher HD were seen in both rejected and accepted contours. Qualitative evaluation shows that it is difficult to use common quantification metrics as indicator for use in clinic. The adversarial attack can force a CNN-based model to produce an incorrect output by craftily manipulating human-imperceptible input. Exploring such perturbations can help us gain a deeper understanding of the vulnerability of neural networks, and provide robustness to deep learning against miscellaneous adversaries. Despite extensive studies focusing on the robustness of image, audio, and NLP, works on adversarial examples of visual object tracking—especially in a black-box manner—are quite lacking. In this paper, we propose a novel adversarial attack method to generate noises for single object tracking under black-box settings, where perturbations are merely added on initialized frames of tracking sequences, which is difficult to be noticed from the perspective of a whole video clip. Specifically, we divide our algorithm into three components and exploit reinforcement learning for localizing important frame patches precisely while reducing unnecessary computational queries overhead. Compared to existing techniques, our method requires less time to perturb videos, but to manipulate competitive or even better adversarial performance. We test our algorithm in both long-term and short-term datasets, including OTB100, VOT2018, UAV123, and LaSOT. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method on three mainstream types of trackers: discrimination, Siamese-based, and reinforcement learning-based trackers. During the manufacturing process of printed circuit boards (PCBs), quality defects can occur, which can affect the performance and reliability of PCBs. Existing deep learning-based PCB defect detection methods are difficult to simultaneously achieve the goals of high detection accuracy, fast detection speed, and small number of parameters. Therefore, this paper proposes a PCB defect detection algorithm based on CDI-YOLO. Firstly, the coordinate attention mechanism (CA) is introduced to improve the backbone and neck network of YOLOv7-tiny, enhance the feature extraction capability of the model, and thus improve the accuracy of model detection. Secondly, DSConv is used to replace part of the common convolution in YOLOv7-tiny to achieve lower computing costs and faster detection speed. Finally, Inner-CIoU is used as the bounding box regression loss function of CDI-YOLO to speed up the bounding box regression process. The experimental results show that the method achieves 98.3% mAP on the PCB defect dataset, the detection speed is 128 frames per second (FPS), the parameters is 5.8 M, and the giga floating-point operations per second (GFLOPs) is 12.6 G. With the continuous mining and gradual reduction of shallow deposits, deep prospecting has become a new global prospecting trend. In addition, with the development of artificial intelligence, deep learning provides a favorable means for geological big data analysis. This paper, researches the No. II Orebody of the Xiongcun deposit. First, based on previous research results and metallogenic regularity, prospecting information, namely, lithology, Au-Ag-Cu chemical elements and wall rock alteration is extracted, and the block model is established by combining the Kriging interpolation structure. Second, the datasets are divided into dataset I and dataset II according to "randomness" and "depth". Third, deep prospecting prediction models based on deep neural networks (DNN) and the convolutional neural networks (CNN) is constructed, and the model parameters are optimized. Finally, the models are applied to the deep prediction of the Xiongcun No. II Orebody. The results show that the accuracy rate and recall rate of the prediction model based on the DNN algorithm are 96.15% and 89.23%, respectively, and the AUC is 96.39%, which are higher values than those of the CNN algorithm, indicating that the performance of the prediction model based on the DNN algorithm is better. The accuracy of prediction model based on dataset I is higher than that of dataset II. The accuracy of deep metallogenic prediction based on the DNN algorithm is approximately 89%, that based on the CNN is approximately 87%, and that based on prospecting information method is approximately 61.27%. The prediction results of the DNN algorithm are relatively consistent in the spatial location and scale of the orebody. Based on the problem of insufficient accuracy of the original tiny YOLOv3 algorithm for object detection in a lawn environment, an Optimized tiny YOLOv3 algorithm with less computation and higher accuracy is proposed. Three reasons affect the accuracy of the original tiny YOLOv3 algorithm for detecting objects in a lawn environment. First, the backbone of the original algorithm is composed of a stack of a single convolutional layer and a max-pooling layer, which results in insufficient ability to extract feature information of objects. An enhancement module is proposed to enhance the feature extraction capability of the shallow layers of the network. Second, the information of the shallow convolutional layers of the backbone is not fully used, which results in insufficient detection capability for small objects. Third, the deep part of the backbone uses a convolutional layer with an excessive number of channels, which results in a large amount of computation. A multi-resolution fusion module is proposed to enhance the information interaction capability of the deep and shallow layers of the network, and reduce the computation. To verify the accuracy of this Optimized tiny YOLOv3 algorithm, the algorithm was tested on the dataset containing trunk, spherical tree and person, and compared with the current research. Face anti-spoofing has been attracting attention because of its prominent role in the security of face recognition systems. A face spoofing attack is launched on the authentication system by the attacker using the picture or video of the genuine user to get access to the services or information. This paper proposes local binary pattern (LBP) and convolutional neural network (CNN) based feature fusion model for classifying spoof face images. Initially, the images are pre-processed to remove the effect of the background in the feature extraction. The Viola-Jones algorithm is used for detecting and cropping the faces from the images. The color features of the pre-processed RGB images and LBP features are provided to the CNN. This feature combination reduces the requirement of a CNN-based deep learning architecture for providing a good classification performance. To validate the proposed model, it is trained and tested on NUAA and MSU-MFSD datasets. The experiment recorded the ACER of 0.21 and 0.20 on the MSU-MFSD and NUAA datasets, respectively. Authenticity in multimedia information retrieval system is one such parameter which is of utmost in demand. One of such parameters is the biometric based authentication system, as seen in case of human the system proves its importance in almost each and every field. But in case of animals it becomes quite complex to recognize them using unique biometric parameter. This paper presents a modified 10 layered DenseNet deep learning framework which is implemented for the identification of Humpback whale, in an online challenge conducted by the kaggle, using biometric parameter. The proposed dense model minimizes the traditional limitation of vanishing gradient problem and outperforms as compared with other methods exists in the literature. This paper also proposed an hand free flow algorithm for ROI segmentation. In addition, the proposed methodology also uses CLAHE as a preprocessing method and focused on the feature re-usability with an optimized number of parameters used for recognition. During the experimentation, validation of the proposed model is found satisfactory with an accuracy of 93.21%. The test set results are provided by the kaggle with an AUC-ROC result over public and private scoreboard with an accuracy of 94.47% and 92.54% respectively. The comparative result with other deep methodologies suggests that the highest accuracy gained is 95.55% by Se-ResNet50 by some other learderboard and proposed model is found at second place. Clinical diagnosis of keratitis highly depends on the observation of medical images. Since there are many classifications of keratitis, and the pathogenic factors are different, ophthalmologists will be more demanding. In this paper, a multi-task recognition method is proposed for the automatic diagnosis of keratitis. The diagnosis basis of keratitis is obtained, and the image of the anterior segment is interpreted. Under the guidance of ophthalmologists, all anterior segment images are labeled from five signs, consisting of opacity area in the cornea (turbid and clear), boundary of the focus (distinct and vague), epithelium of the focus area (intact and incomplete), hyperemia (congestive and healthy), and neovascularization (yes and no), which are important in the diagnosis of keratitis. A multi-label image dataset is constructed, and the images are enhanced by horizontal flipping according to the image characteristics. In this paper, an improved multi-attribute network based on ResNet50 is proposed, including a feature extraction module and a classification module. The feature extraction module is to extract image features, and the classification module is a multi-output network in which each channel corresponds to each attribute. In order to improve the overall recognition accuracy of multi-task, the loss function is optimized. In the loss function, the loss weights of different tasks are determined based on the classification difficulty. A joint training approach is used to train the multi-attribute network which can simultaneously recognize the five attributes and obtain the specific symptoms of keratitis. The experimental results show that the average accuracy of these five attributes can be achieved 84.89% in the multi-attribute network, among which the highest accuracy can be achieved 89.51%. Conventional wireless sensors have difficulty solving the problem of energy limitation, especially in sensor networks in hard-to-reach extreme areas. In order to solve the problem that it is difficult to charge wireless sensors in the field using conventional energy sources, the energy harvesting wireless senor is designed to use renewable energy sources for power supply. Considering the uncertainty and unknown nature of renewable energy generation, and the need for effective energy management of the sensor. In this paper, an Node Power Control Optimization (NPCO) power allocation algorithm is proposed to adjust the power allocation problem of wireless sensor nodes within each time slot. In addition, to address the unknown and random nature of energy arrival, this paper proposes a CLSTM model based on deep learning to predict the energy arrival. The continuous autonomous energy management of wireless sensor nodes is achieved by combining the CLSTM prediction results using the NPCO algorithm. The algorithm is applicable to continuous states and is able to show good performance in the verification of real solar data. The problem that I present in this paper concerns the issue of ethical evaluation of algorithms, especially those used in social media and which create profiles of users of these media and new technologies that have recently emerged and are intended to change the functioning of technologies used in data management. Systems such as Overton, SambaNova or Snorkel were created to help engineers create data management models, but they are based on different assumptions than the previous approach in machine learning and deep learning. There is a need to analyze both deep learning algorithms and new technologies in database management in terms of their actions towards a person who leaves their digital footprints, on which these technologies work. Then, the possibilities of applying the existing deep learning technology and new Big Data systems in the economy will be shown. The opportunities offered by the systems mentioned above seem to be promising for many companies and—if implemented on a larger scale—they will affect the functioning of the free market. Machine learning and deep learning are two subsets of artificial intelligence that involve teaching computers to learn and make decisions from any sort of data. Most recent developments in artificial intelligence are coming from deep learning, which has proven revolutionary in almost all fields, from computer vision to health sciences. The effects of deep learning in medicine have changed the conventional ways of clinical application significantly. Although some sub-fields of medicine, such as pediatrics, have been relatively slow in receiving the critical benefits of deep learning, related research in pediatrics has started to accumulate to a significant level, too. Hence, in this paper, we review recently developed machine learning and deep learning-based solutions for neonatology applications. We systematically evaluate the roles of both classical machine learning and deep learning in neonatology applications, define the methodologies, including algorithmic developments, and describe the remaining challenges in the assessment of neonatal diseases by using PRISMA 2020 guidelines. To date, the primary areas of focus in neonatology regarding AI applications have included survival analysis, neuroimaging, analysis of vital parameters and biosignals, and retinopathy of prematurity diagnosis. We have categorically summarized 106 research articles from 1996 to 2022 and discussed their pros and cons, respectively. In this systematic review, we aimed to further enhance the comprehensiveness of the study. We also discuss possible directions for new AI models and the future of neonatology with the rising power of AI, suggesting roadmaps for the integration of AI into neonatal intensive care units. Multimedia data have increased dramatically today, making the distinction between desirable information and other types of information extremely important. Speech/music discrimination is a field of audio analytics that aims to detect and classify speech and music segments in an audio file. This paper proposes a novel feature extraction method called Long-Term Multi-band Frequency-Domain Mean-Crossing Rate (FDMCR). The proposed feature computes the average frequency-domain mean-crossing rate along the frequency axis for each of the perceptual Mel-scaled frequency bands of the signal power spectrum. In this paper, the class-separation capability of this feature is first measured by well-known divergence criteria such as Maximum Fisher Discriminant Ratio (MFDR), Bhattacharyya divergence, and Jeffreys/Symmetric Kullback–Leibler (SKL) divergence. The proposed feature is then applied to the speech/music discrimination (SMD) process on two well-known speech-music datasets—GTZAN and S &S (Scheirer and Slaney). The results obtained on the two datasets using conventional classifiers, including k-NN, GMM, and SVM, as well as deep learning-based classification methods, including CNN, LSTM, and BiLSTM, show that the proposed feature outperforms other features in speech/music discrimination. Stochastic gradient descent method is popular for large scale optimization but has slow convergence asymptotically due to the inherent variance. To remedy this problem, there have been many explicit variance reduction methods for stochastic descent, such as SVRG Johnson and Zhang [Advances in neural information processing systems, (2013), pp. 315–323], SAG Roux et al. [Advances in neural information processing systems, (2012), pp. 2663–2671], SAGA Defazio et al. [Advances in neural information processing systems, (2014), pp. 1646–1654] and so on. Conjugate gradient method, which has the same computation cost with gradient descent method, is considered. In this paper, in the spirit of SAGA, we propose a stochastic conjugate gradient algorithm which we call SCGA. With the Fletcher and Reeves type choices, we prove a linear convergence rate for smooth and strongly convex functions. We experimentally demonstrate that SCGA converges faster than the popular SGD type algorithms for four machine learning models, which may be convex, nonconvex or nonsmooth. Deep learning has become the main solution for face recognition applications due to its high accuracy and robustness. In recent years, a batch of research on lightweight convolutional neural networks (CNNs) has emerged, bringing new ideas to the economic application of face recognition systems. In this paper, a lightweight face recognition algorithm is proposed to reduce the number of parameters and calculations of the face feature extraction network. The most important part of our approach lies in designing a novel inverted residual shuffle unit (IR-Shuffle). After being trained by ArcFace loss on a GPU workstation, our model built on improved IR-Shuffle blocks of size 1.45 MB achieves an accuracy of 98.65%. In terms of running time, our model is 5 ms faster than the current fastest MobileFaceNet, with only about 0.5% drop in accuracy. The proposed algorithm is implemented and optimized on the Jetson Nano embedded platform, and accurate and real-time deployment of the face recognition system is realized. The system takes 37 ms to perform the complete face detection and recognition and is robust to complex backgrounds and ambient light changes. To solve the low detection accuracy of SSD for the small size object, this paper proposed an improved algorithm of SSD object detection based on the feature pyramid (FP-SSD). In the deep convolutional neural network, the high-level features contain well semantic information but are not sensitive to the translations. The low-level features have high resolutions but could not represent the features well. The feature pyramid structure contains multi-scale features. To combine the high and low-level features of the pyramid, the algorithm of this paper applied the deconvolution network to the high-level features of the feature pyramid to get the semantic information, dilated convolution network to learn the position information of the low-level features and used convolution for the middle level features to reduce the feature channels, then used convolution to fuse the features. After using the algorithm, a multi-scale detection structure is constructed. FP-SSD achieves a mean accuracy of 79% on PASCAL VOC2007, and 47% on MSCOCO, which has a great improve compared with SSD. We compared the detection accuracy and results with all kinds of scales by experiments, compared with SSD, the accuracy of FP-SSD is higher, which has more accurate location and higher recognition confidence. In this paper, a lightweight convolutional neural network is proposed for the classification of plant diseases, containing 63 classes of states for 11 plant species. The different context of experimental data and data in the real environment, insufficient accuracy of the model classification, and oversized model are three main problems of deep learning techniques applied to agricultural production. In this paper, we mainly focus on these three problems. First, the GrabCut algorithm is adopted to unify the background of the experimental data and the real data to black, allowing the trained model to have the same good effect when applied in practice. Then, we propose a new coordinate attention block to improve the classification accuracy of convolutional neural networks and empirically demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach with several state-of-the-art CNN models. Finally, channel pruning is applied to the trained model, which reduces the model size and computational effort by 85.19 % and 92.15 % respectively with little change in the model accuracy, making it better suited for agricultural platforms with lower memory and computational capacity. In dark or poorly lit environments, it is often difficult for the naked eye to distinguish low-light-level images because of low brightness, low contrast and noise, and it is difficult to perform subsequent image processing (such as video surveillance and target detection). To solve these problems, this paper proposes a low-light-level image enhancement algorithm based on deep learning. First, the low-light-level image is segmented into several super-pixels, and the noise level of each super-pixel is estimated by the ratio of the local standard deviation to the local gradient. Then, the image is inverted and smoothed by a BM3D filter, and the structural filter adaptive method is used to obtain complete images without noise but with the correct texture. Finally, the noise-free image and texture-complete images are applied to the integrated network, which can not only enhance the contrast but also effectively prevent the over-enhancement of the contrast. The experimental results show that this method is superior to traditional methods in terms of both subjective and objective evaluation, and the peak signal–noise ratio and improved structural similarity are 31.64 dB and 91.2%, respectively. Video surveillance systems are essential as other application domain. Handling efficient and reliable for underground projects as well surveillance image is so significant to ensure security and safety. The wireless channels are efficient as data transferring media. On the other hand, the bandwidth may be limited for some environmental conditions. Hence, the image compression algorithm is very important to be conducted and applied to save the transmission bandwidth. This paper presents an image compression algorithm for video surveillance. The method is based on the concept of luminance variation of image. The image compression method is expected to achieve a reasonable compression ratio with acceptable quality. With another meaning, the compressed image size is decreased and consumes a smaller transmission bandwidth via the wireless channel compared with the original image size. The method adopts a deep learning approach to improve the quality with limited bandwidth. The proposed method is abbreviated as DLBL (deep learning block luminance). DLBL implemented and tested on some tested bed images. The performance of the proposed method is compared with some ones considering the same conditions. Some measurable criteria are taken into consideration for performance evaluation. The criteria are the compression ratio (CR), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structure similarity index measure (SSIM). From the experiments results, the proposed method showed significant and efficient performance compared with some other related ones. This is clear from the values of CR, PSNR and SSIM. Adaptive algorithms are widely used in deep learning because of their fast convergence. Among them, Adam is the most widely used algorithm. However, studies have shown that Adam's generalization ability is weak. AdaX is a variant of Adam, which introduces a novel second-order momentum, modifies the second-order moment of Adam, and has good generalization ability. However, these algorithms may fail to converge due to instability and extreme learning rates during training. In this paper, we propose a new adaptive and momental bound algorithm, called AdaXod, which characterizes of exponentially averaging the learning rate and is particularly useful for training deep neural networks. By setting an adaptively limited learning rate in the AdaX algorithm, the resultant AdaXod can effectively eliminate the problem of excessive learning rate in the later stage of neural networks training and thus results in stable training. We conduct extensive experiments on different datasets and verify the advantages of the AdaXod algorithm by comparing with other advanced adaptive optimization algorithms. AdaXod eliminates large learning rates during neural networks training and outperforms other optimizers, especially for some neural networks with complex structures, such as DenseNet. Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) is an effective way to reduce radiation exposure for patients. However, it will increase the noise of reconstructed CT images and affect the precision of clinical diagnosis. The majority of the current deep learning-based denoising methods are built on convolutional neural networks (CNNs), which concentrate on local information and have little capacity for multiple structures modeling. Transformer structures are capable of computing each pixel's response on a global scale, but their extensive computation requirements prevent them from being widely used in medical image processing. To reduce the impact of LDCT scans on patients, this paper aims to develop an image post-processing method by combining CNN and Transformer structures. This method can obtain a high-quality images from LDCT. A hybrid CNN-Transformer (HCformer) codec network model is proposed for LDCT image denoising. A neighborhood feature enhancement (NEF) module is designed to introduce the local information into the Transformer's operation, and the representation of adjacent pixel information in the LDCT image denoising task is increased. The shifting window method is utilized to lower the computational complexity of the network model and overcome the problems that come with computing the MSA (Multi-head self-attention) process in a fixed window. Meanwhile, W/SW-MSA (Windows/Shifted window Multi-head self-attention) is alternately used in two layers of the Transformer to gain the information interaction between various Transformer layers. This approach can successfully decrease the Transformer's overall computational cost. The AAPM 2016 LDCT grand challenge dataset is employed for ablation and comparison experiments to demonstrate the viability of the proposed LDCT denoising method. Per the experimental findings, HCformer can increase the image quality metrics SSIM, HuRMSE and FSIM from 0.8017, 34.1898, and 0.6885 to 0.8507, 17.7213, and 0.7247, respectively. Additionally, the proposed HCformer algorithm will preserves image details while it reduces noise. In this paper, an HCformer structure is proposed based on deep learning and evaluated by using the AAPM LDCT dataset. Both the qualitative and quantitative comparison results confirm that the proposed HCformer outperforms other methods. The contribution of each component of the HCformer is also confirmed by the ablation experiments. Detection of small objects is one of the main challenges to be improved in deep learning, mainly due to the small number of pixels and scene's context, leading to a loss in performance. In this paper, we present an optimized approach based on deep object detection models that allow the detection of a higher number of elements and improve the score obtained for their class inference. The main advantage of the presented methodology is that it is not necessary to modify the internal structure of the selected convolutional neural network model or re-training for a specific scene. Our proposal is based on detecting initial regions to generate several sub-images using super-resolution (SR) techniques, increasing the number of pixels of the elements, and re-infer over these areas using the same pre-trained model. A reduced set of windows is calculated in the super-resolved image by analyzing a computed graph that describes the distances among the preliminary object detections. This analysis is done by finding maximal cliques on it. This way, the number of windows to be examined is diminished, significantly speeding up the detection process. This framework has been successfully tested on real traffic sequences obtained from the U.S. Department of Transportation. An increase of up to 44.6% is achieved, going from an average detection rate for the EfficientDet D4 model of 14.5% compared to 59.1% using the methodology presented for the first sequence. An automated diagnosis system is crucial for helping radiologists identify brain abnormalities efficiently. The convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm of deep learning has the advantage of automated feature extraction beneficial for an automated diagnosis system. However, several challenges in the CNN-based classifiers of medical images, such as a lack of labeled data and class imbalance problems, can significantly hinder the performance. Meanwhile, the expertise of multiple clinicians may be required to achieve accurate diagnoses, which can be reflected in the use of multiple algorithms. In this paper, we present Deep-Stacked CNN, a deep heterogeneous model based on stacked generalization to harness the advantages of different CNN-based classifiers. The model aims to improve robustness in the task of multi-class brain disease classification when we have no opportunity to train single CNNs on sufficient data. We propose two levels of learning processes to obtain the desired model. At the first level, different pre-trained CNNs fine-tuned via transfer learning will be selected as the base classifiers through several procedures. Each base classifier has a unique expert-like character, which provides diversity to the diagnosis outcomes. At the second level, the base classifiers are stacked together through neural network, representing the meta-learner that best combines their outputs and generates the final prediction. The proposed Deep-Stacked CNN obtained an accuracy of 99.14% when evaluated on the untouched dataset. This model shows its superiority over existing methods in the same domain. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most common consequences of diabetes. It affects the retina, causing blood vessel damage which can lead to loss of vision. Saving patients from losing their sight or at least slowing the progress of this disease depends mainly on the early detection of this pathology, on top of the detection of its specific stage. Furthermore, the early detection of diabetic retinopathy and the follow-up of the patient's condition remains an arduous task, whether for an experienced expert ophthalmologist or a computer-aided diagnosis technician. In this paper, we aim to propose a new automatic diabetic retinopathy severity level detection method. The proposed approach merges the pyramid hierarchy of the discrete wavelet transform of the retina fundus image with the modified capsule network and the modified inception block proposed, in addition to a new deep hybrid model that concatenates the inception block with capsule networks. The performance of our proposed approach has been validated on the APTOS dataset, as it achieved a high training accuracy of 97.71% and a high testing accuracy score of 86.54%, which is considered one of the best scores achieved in this field using the same dataset. If lung cancer is not detected in its initial phases, it can be fatal. However, because of the quantity and structure of its nodules, lung cancer is difficult to detect early. For accurate detections, radiologists require assistance from automated tools. Numerous expert methods have been created over time to assist radiologists in the diagnosis of lung cancer. However, this requires accurate research. Therefore, in this article, we propose a framework to precisely detect lung cancer by categorizing it between benign and malignant nodules. To achieve this objective, an efficient deep-learning algorithm is presented. The presented technique consists of four stages, namely pre-processing, segmentation, classification, and severity stage analysis. Initially, the collected image is given to the pre-processing stage to eliminate the distortion present in the image. Then, the noise-free image is given to the segmentation stage. For segmentation, in this paper, modified regularized K-means (MRKM) clustering algorithm is presented. After the segmentation process, the segmented nodule image is fed to the classification stage to categorize the nodule as benign or malignant (risk nodule). For classification, an improved convolution neural network (ICNN) is presented. The proposed ICNN is designed by modifying CNN with the integration of the adaptive tree seed optimization (ATSO) algorithm. Finally, the stage identification is carried out based on the size of the nodule and we classify the malignant nodule as S1–S4. Tissue phenotyping is a fundamental step in computational pathology for the analysis of tumor micro-environment in whole slide images (WSIs). Automatic tissue phenotyping in whole slide images (WSIs) of colorectal cancer (CRC) assists pathologists in better cancer grading and prognostication. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for the identification of distinct tissue components in colon cancer histology images by blending a comprehensive learning system with deep features extraction in the current work. Firstly, we extracted the features from the pre-trained VGG19 network which are then transformed into mapped features space for nodes enhancement generation. Utilizing both mapped features and enhancement nodes, the proposed algorithm classifies seven distinct tissue components including stroma, tumor, complex stroma, necrotic, normal benign, lymphocytes, and smooth muscle. To validate our proposed model, the experiments are performed on two publicly available colorectal cancer histology datasets. We showcase that our approach achieves a remarkable performance boost surpassing existing state-of-the-art methods by (1.3% AvTP, 2% F1) and (7% AvTP, 6% F1) on CRCD-1, and CRCD-2, respectively.
