Objective: To identify and describe existing models for predicting knee pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods: The electronic databases PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched from their inception to May 2023 for any studies to develop and validate a prediction model for predicting knee pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Two reviewers independently screened titles, abstracts, and full-text qualifications, and extracted data. Risk of bias was assessed using the PROBAST. Data extraction of eligible articles was extracted by a data extraction form based on CHARMS. The quality of evidence was graded according to GRADE. The results were summarized with descriptive statistics. Results: The search identified 2693 records. Sixteen articles reporting on 26 prediction models were included targeting occurrence (n = 9), others (n = 7), progression (n = 5), persistent (n = 2), incident (n = 1), frequent (n = 1), and flares (n = 1) of knee pain. Most of the studies (94%) were at high risk of bias. Model discrimination was assessed by the AUROC ranging from 0.62 to 0.81. The most common predictors were age, BMI, gender, baseline pain, and joint space width. Only frequent knee pain had a moderate quality of evidence; all other types of knee pain had a low quality of evidence. Conclusion: There are many prediction models for knee pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis that do show promise. Delivery drones are yet to be adopted as a systematic delivery system for humanitarian operations but have the potential to substantially increase the efficiency and effectiveness of future delivery options. Thus, we analyse the impact of factors affecting the adoption of delivery drones by logistics service providers for humanitarian operations. A conceptual model of potential barriers to adoption and development is created using the Technology Acceptance Model theory involving security, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and attitude as factors that affect the intention to use. We validate the model using empirical data collected from 103 respondents by the 10 leading logistics firms located in China between May and August 2016. through a survey to examine factors currently affecting the intention/non-intention to adopt delivery drones. The results show that ease of use and addressing key security considerations about the drone, the delivery package and the recipient are crucial for adopting the technology as a specialized delivery option for logistics service providers. This is the first study of its kind and contributes to understanding the operational, supply chain and behavioural factors in the adoption of drones by logistics services providers for humanitarian operations. Background and Objective: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an aggressive, heterogenous hematopoetic malignancies with poor long-term prognosis. T-cell mediated tumor killing plays a key role in tumor immunity. Here, we explored the prognostic performance and functional significance of a T-cell mediated tumor killing sensitivity gene (GSTTK)-based prognostic score (TTKPI). Methods: Publicly available transcriptomic data for AML were obtained from TCGA and NCBI-GEO. GSTTK were identified from the TISIDB database. Signature GSTTK for AML were identified by differential expression analysis, COX proportional hazards and LASSO regression analysis and a comprehensive TTKPI score was constructed. Prognostic performance of the TTKPI was examined using Kaplan–Meier survival analysis, Receiver operating curves, and nomogram analysis. Association of TTKPI with clinical phenotypes, tumor immune cell infiltration patterns, checkpoint expression patterns were analysed. Drug docking was used to identify important candidate drugs based on the TTKPI-component genes. Results: From 401 differentially expressed GSTTK in AML, 24 genes were identified as signature genes and used to construct the TTKPI score. High-TTKPI risk score predicted worse survival and good prognostic accuracy with AUC values ranging from 75 to 96%. Higher TTKPI scores were associated with older age and cancer stage, which showed improved prognostic performance when combined with TTKPI. High TTKPI was associated with lower naïve CD4 T cell and follicular helper T cell infiltrates and higher M2 macrophages/monocyte infiltration. Distinct patterns of immune checkpoint expression corresponded with TTKPI score groups. Three agents; DB11791 (Capmatinib), DB12886 (GSK-1521498) and DB14773 (Lifirafenib) were identified as candidates for AML. Conclusion: A T-cell mediated killing sensitivity gene-based prognostic score TTKPI showed good accuracy in predicting survival in AML. TTKPI corresponded to functional and immunological features of the tumor microenvironment including checkpoint expression patterns and should be investigated for precision medicine approaches. In common with other omics technologies, mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics produces ever-increasing amounts of raw data, making efficient analysis a principal challenge. A plethora of different computational tools can process the MS data to derive peptide and protein identification and quantification. However, during the last years there has been dramatic progress in computer science, including collaboration tools that have transformed research and industry. To leverage these advances, we develop AlphaPept, a Python-based open-source framework for efficient processing of large high-resolution MS data sets. Numba for just-in-time compilation on CPU and GPU achieves hundred-fold speed improvements. AlphaPept uses the Python scientific stack of highly optimized packages, reducing the code base to domain-specific tasks while accessing the latest advances. We provide an easy on-ramp for community contributions through the concept of literate programming, implemented in Jupyter Notebooks. Large datasets can rapidly be processed as shown by the analysis of hundreds of proteomes in minutes per file, many-fold faster than acquisition. AlphaPept can be used to build automated processing pipelines with web-serving functionality and compatibility with downstream analysis tools. It provides easy access via one-click installation, a modular Python library for advanced users, and via an open GitHub repository for developers. Purpose: The characteristics of surface-based morphological patterns to primary trigeminal neuralgia (PTN) are still not well understood. This study aims to screen the useful cortical indices for the prediction of PTN and the quantification of pain severity. Methods: Fifty PTN patients and 48 matched healthy subjects enrolled in the study from March 2016 to August 2021. High-resolution T1 data were performed at 3.0 Tesla scanner and were analyzed with FreeSurfer software to detect the abnormalities of cortical mean curve (CMC), cortical thickness (CT), surface area (SA), and cortical volume (CV) in PTN patients compared to healthy controls. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine whether certain morphological patterns could predict PTN disorder. Then, the relationships of cortical indices to the pain characteristics in patient group were examined using linear regression model. Results: Distinctive cortical alterations were discovered through surface-based analysis, including increased temporal CMC, decreased insular CT and fusiform SA, along with decreased CV in several temporal and occipital areas. Moreover, the difference of temporal CMC was greater than other cortical parameters between the two groups, and the combination of certain morphological indices was of good value in the diagnosis for PTN. Besides, CT of left insula was negatively associated with the pain intensity in PTN patients. Conclusion: The patients with PTN demonstrate distinctive morphological patterns in several cortical regions, which may contribute to the imaging diagnosis of this refractory disorder and be useful for the quantification of the orofacial pain. Objectives: To explore the use of deep learning–constrained compressed sensing (DLCS) in improving image quality and acquisition time for 3D MRI of the brachial plexus. Methods: Fifty-four participants who underwent contrast-enhanced imaging and forty-one participants who underwent unenhanced imaging were included. Sensitivity encoding with an acceleration of 2 × 2 (SENSE4x), CS with an acceleration of 4 (CS4x), and DLCS with acceleration of 4 (DLCS4x) and 8 (DLCS8x) were used for MRI of the brachial plexus. Apparent signal-to-noise ratios (aSNRs), apparent contrast-to-noise ratios (aCNRs), and qualitative scores on a 4-point scale were evaluated and compared by ANOVA and the Friedman test. Interobserver agreement was evaluated by calculating the intraclass correlation coefficients. Results: DLCS4x achieved higher aSNR and aCNR than SENSE4x, CS4x, and DLCS8x (all p < 0.05). For the root segment of the brachial plexus, no statistically significant differences in the qualitative scores were found among the four sequences. For the trunk segment, DLCS4x had higher scores than SENSE4x (p = 0.04) in the contrast-enhanced group and had higher scores than SENSE4x and DLCS8x in the unenhanced group (all p < 0.05). For the divisions, cords, and branches, DLCS4x had higher scores than SENSE4x, CS4x, and DLCS8x (all p ≤ 0.01). No overt difference was found among SENSE4x, CS4x, and DLCS8x in any segment of the brachial plexus (all p > 0.05). Conclusions: In three-dimensional MRI for the brachial plexus, DLCS4x can improve image quality compared with SENSE4x and CS4x, and DLCS8x can maintain the image quality compared to SENSE4x and CS4x. Clinical relevance statement: Deep learning–constrained compressed sensing can improve the image quality or accelerate acquisition of 3D MRI of the brachial plexus, which should be benefit in evaluating the brachial plexus and its branches in clinical practice. Lipotoxicity-induced pancreatic β cell damage is a strong predictor of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Our previous work showed that Caveolin-1 (Cav-1) depletion decreased β-cell apoptosis and improved β-cell viability. Further microarray analysis indicated significant changes in the expression of genes related to fatty acid metabolism and inflammation. The objective of this study was to explore the role of Cav-1 in intracellular lipid accumulation and inflammation in β cells under lipotoxic conditions. Here, we established a β-cell-specific Cav-1 knockout (β-Cav-1 KO) mouse model and a CAV-1 depleted β cell line (NIT-1). We found that Cav-1 silencing significantly reduced palmitate (PA)-induced intracellular triglyceride (TG) accumulation and decreased proinflammatory factor expression in both the mouse and cell models. Further mechanistic investigation revealed that amelioration of lipid metabolism was achieved through the downregulation of lipogenic markers (SREBP-1c, FAS and ACC) and upregulation of a fatty acid oxidation marker (CPT-1). Meanwhile, decrease of inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β) secretion was found with the involvement of the IKKβ/NF-κB signaling pathways. The effect of the manganese content (0.5-2.0 wt.%) on the microstructure, mechanical properties and high temperature oxidation resistance of reduced activation ferritic/martensitic (RAFM) steels was studied. The examinations reveal that the microstructure of the steels shows a fully martensite structure. A large number of M23C6 carbides and a small number of Zr(C, N) carbonitrides were detected in the steels. The results of mechanical experiments showed that the strength increases and the toughness decreases with increasing Mn content. The improvement of strength can be ascribed to solution strengthening by Mn and gain size strengthening by refining lath width. After oxidation at 650 °C for 400 h, both MnCr2O4 oxides and Cr2O3 oxides are founded on the surface of the steels. The steel with 1.2 wt.% Mn exhibit the optimum high temperature oxidation resistance, followed by the steel with 0.5 wt.% Mn. The increase of oxidation resistance can be ascribed to the addition of Mn promotes the formation of Mn oxides, which refined the diameter of MnCr2O4 oxides. The decrease of oxidation resistance mainly due to the higher Mn content reduces the critical concentration of Cr to form Cr oxides (Cr2O3), thus promoting the formation of large-sized Cr2O3 oxides. Isopropanol is one of the most important chemical raw materials and organic solvents, but a large amount of isopropanol will do harm to human health. Therefore, it is essential to monitor isopropanol. In this work, high-performance isopropanol gas sensors were fabricated with SnO2 molecularly imprinted polymers (SnO2 MIPs). All the samples were characterized for performance evaluation. The results show that with molecular imprinting (MI) modification, gas sensors based on SnO2 MIPs have better gas sensing performance for isopropanol compared with pure SnO2. Especially, when the molar ratio of methacrylic acid (MAA) to isopropanol was 6:10, excellent gas sensing performance was achieved. At the optimum working temperature of 300 °C, the response of this sensor to isopropanol of 500 ppm was 33.87, and the response and recovery times were 10 s and 3 s, respectively. In addition, it is proven that MI modification could significantly improve the selectivity of gas sensors to the target gas due to the specific recognition sites. Therefore, SnO2 MIPs with the molar ratio of MAA to isopropanol of 6:10 would be a promising isopropanol sensing material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Head and neck squamous cancer (HNSCC) presents variable phenotype and progression features. Clinically applicable, high-accuracy multifactorial prognostic models for HNSCC survival outcomes are warranted and an active area of research. This study aimed to construct a comprehensive prognostic tool for HNSCC overall survival by integrating cancer driver genes with tumor clinical and phenotype information. Methods: Key overall survival-related cancer driver genes were screened from among main effector and reciprocal gene pairs using TCGA data using univariate Cox proportional hazard regression analysis. Independent validation was performed using the GSE41613 dataset. The main effector genes among these were selected using LASSO regression and transcriptome score modeling was performed using multivariate Cox regression followed by validation analysis of the prognostic score. Next, multivariate Cox regression analysis was performed using the transcriptome score combined with age, grade, gender, and stage. An 'Accurate Prediction Model of HNSCC Overall Survival Score' (APMHO) was computed and validated. Enriched functional pathways, gene mutational landscape, immune cell infiltration, and immunotherapy sensitivity markers associated with high and low APMHO scores were analyzed. Results: Screening 107 overall survival-related cancer genes and 402 interacting gene pairs, 6 genes: CRLF2, HSP90AA1, MAP2K1, PAFAH1B2, MYCL and SET genes, were identified and a transcriptional score was obtained. Age, stage and transcriptional score were found to be significant predictors in Cox regression analysis and used to construct a final APMHO model showing an AUC > 0.65 and validated. Transcriptional score, age, pathologic_N, pathologic_T, stage, and TCGA_subtype were significantly different in distribution between high and low APMHO groups. High APMHO samples showed significantly higher mutation rate, enriched tumor-related pathways including Hypoxia, unfold_protein_response, Glycolysis, and mTORC1 signaling, along with differences in immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoint, interferon-γ pathway and m6A regulator expression patterns. Conclusion: The APMHO score combining transcriptional and clinical variables showed good prognostic ability for HNSCC overall survival outcomes and was associated with different patterns of phenotypical features, immune and mutational landscape, and immunotherapy sensitivity marker expression. Bacterial cellulose (BC), a natural biomaterial synthesized by bacteria, has a unique structure of a cellulose nanofiber-weaved three-dimensional reticulated network. BC films can be ultrasoft with sufficient mechanical strength, strong water absorption and moisture retention and have been widely used in facial masks. These films have the potential to be applied to implantable neural interfaces due to their conformality and moisture, which are two critical issues for traditional polymer or silicone electrodes. In this work, we propose a micro-electrocorticography (micro-ECoG) electrode named "Brainmask", which comprises a BC film as the substrate and separated multichannel parylene-C microelectrodes bonded on the top surface. Brainmask can not only guarantee the precise position of microelectrode sites attached to any nonplanar epidural surface but also improve the long-lasting signal quality during acute implantation with an exposed cranial window for at least one hour, as well as the in vivo recording validated for one week. Objective: This study aimed to assess biventricular function and mechanics in patients with the chronic high-altitude disease (CHAD) using cardiovascular MRI and explore the possible risk factors associated with ventricular remodeling. Methods: In this prospective study, consecutive CHAD patients and healthy controls at high-altitude (HA) and at sea level (SL) underwent cardiovascular MRI. Right ventricular (RV) and left ventricular (LV) function and global strain parameters were compared. To identify risk factors associated with ventricular remodeling, multiple linear regression analyses were used. Results: A total of 33 patients with CHAD (42.97 years ± 11.80; 23 men), 33 HA (41.18 years ± 8.58; 21 men), and 33 SL healthy controls (43.48 years ± 13.40; 21 men) were included. A Significantly decreased biventricular ejection fraction was observed in patients (all p < 0.05). Additionally, the HA group displayed lower magnitudes of biventricular longitudinal peak strain (PS) (RV, − 13.67% ± 4.05 vs. − 16.22% ± 3.03; LV, − 14.68% ± 2.20 vs. − 16.19% ± 2.51; both p < 0.05), but a higher LV circumferential PS (− 20.74% ± 2.02 vs. − 19.17% ± 2.34, p < 0.05) than the SL group. Moreover, multiple linear regression analyses revealed that HGB (β = 0.548) was related to the LV remodeling index, whereas BUN (β = 0.570) was associated with the RV remodeling index. Conclusions: With the deterioration of RV function in patients with CHAD, LV function was also impaired concomitantly. Hypoxia-induced erythrocytosis may contribute to LV impairment, while BUN was considered an independent risk factor for RV remodeling. This meta-analysis aims to determine the efficacy of Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) in the treatment of myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury (MIRI) and summarize the mechanisms involved. Literature from six databases including Web of Science, PubMed, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wan-Fang database, and VIP database (VIP) were systematically searched. All the analysis were conducted by R. Twenty-five eligible studies involving 443 animals were included in this meta-analysis. The results indicated that compared to controls, EGCG exerts a cardioprotective effect by reducing myocardial infarct size (SMD = −4.06; 95% CI: −5.17, −2.94; P < 0.01; I2 = 77%). The funnel plot revealed publication bias. Moreover, EGCG significantly improves cardiac function, serum myocardial injury enzyme, and oxidative stress levels in MIRI animal models. This meta-analysis demonstrates that EGCG exhibits therapeutic promise in animal models of MIRI. However, further validation is still needed in large animal models and large clinical studies. One of the crucial issues for applying electret/triboelectric power generators in the Internet of Things (IoT) is to take full advantage of specific high voltage signals and enable self-powered sensing. Therefore, inspired by Miura-origami, we present an innovative origami power generator (OPG) constructed from only one piece of electret thin film. The Miura-origami architecture realizes a generator with excellent deformability and stretchability and makes it unnecessary for any auxiliary support structure during the compress-release cycle. Various parameters of the generator are intensively investigated, including the excitation accelerations, excitation displacements, numbers of power generation units and deformation degree of the device. When stimulated with 5.0 g acceleration at 15 Hz frequency, the generator with 8 generation units can obtain an instantaneous peak-to-peak voltage and a remarkable optimum peak power of 328 V and 2152 μW at 50 MΩ, respectively. In addition, the regulable shape and multiple generation modes of the device greatly improve its applicability in various vibration energy collection requirements. Based on the above results, a hexagonal electret generator integrated with six-phase OPGs is developed as a "Buoy on Sky," after which the signal waveforms generated from internal power generators are recognized with 92% accuracy through a neural network algorithm that identifies the vibration conditions of transmission lines. This work demonstrates that a fusion of origami art and energy conversion techniques can achieve a multifunctional generator design satisfying the requirements for IoT applications. While exploring the process of CO/CO2 electroreduction (COxRR) is of great significance to achieve carbon recycling, deciphering reaction mechanisms so as to further design catalytic systems able to overcome sluggish kinetics remains challenging. In this work, a model single-Co-atom catalyst with well-defined coordination structure is developed and employed as a platform to unravel the underlying reaction mechanism of COxRR. The as-prepared single-Co-atom catalyst exhibits a maximum methanol Faradaic efficiency as high as 65% at 30 mA/cm2 in a membrane electrode assembly electrolyzer, while on the contrary, the reduction pathway of CO2 to methanol is strongly decreased in CO2RR. In-situ X-ray absorption and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopies point to a different adsorption configuration of *CO intermediate in CORR as compared to that in CO2RR, with a weaker stretching vibration of the C–O bond in the former case. Theoretical calculations further evidence the low energy barrier for the formation of a H-CoPc-CO– species, which is a critical factor in promoting the electrochemical reduction of CO to methanol. Deciphering the reaction mechanisms of CO/CO2 electroreduction to methanol remains challenging. Introduction: Talaromyces marneffei (T. marneffei), a dimorphic fungus, causes local or disseminated infection in humans. We aimed to analyze the clinical characteristics, prognostic factors, and survival outcomes of patients with T. marneffei infection and compare the differences between human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive and HIV-negative subgroups. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 241 patients with T. marneffei infection at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University between January 2012 and January 2022. The overall population was stratified into HIV-positive (n = 98) and HIV-negative (n = 143) groups according to HIV status. Kaplan–Meier analysis and multivariate Cox regression models were used to determine the prognostic factors for overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). Results: With a median follow-up time of 58.9 months, 120 patients (49.8%) experienced disease progression and 85 patients (70.8%) died. The 5-year rates of OS and PFS were 61.4% (95% CI 55.0–68.6%) and 47.8% (95% CI 41.5–55.1%), respectively. As an independent factor, patients who were HIV positive had better PFS (HR 0.50, 95% CI 0.31–0.82; p < 0.01) than patients who were HIV negative. Compared with patients who were HIV positive, patients who were HIV negative were older and had more probabilities of underlying diseases, chest involvement, bone destruction, and higher count of neutrophils (all p < 0.05). Hemoglobin (PFS: HR 0.62; 95% CI 0.39–1.00; p < 0.05; OS: HR 0.45; 95% CI 0.22–0.89; p = 0.02) and lymphocyte count (PFS: HR 0.06; 95% CI 0.01–0.26; p < 0.01; OS: HR 0.08; 95% CI 0.01–0.40; p < 0.01) were independent prognostic factors for PFS and OS in patients who were HIV negative. Conclusions: Patients with T. marneffei infection have a poor prognosis. Patients who are HIV positive and HIV negative have relatively independent clinical characteristics. Bamboo is the main food source of the giant panda. To increase bamboo intake in captive giant pandas, we studied factors affecting the bamboo intake. Fourteen healthy captive giant pandas in Dujiangyan Base of China Conservation and Research Center for The Giant Panda ("Dujiangyan Base" for short) were selected as research objects. A bamboo feeding experiment was conducted to study the effects of seasons, bamboo age, slope orientations where bamboo grows and felling-feeding time on bamboo intake of the giant panda. We found that the type of bamboo that captive giant pandas feed on was abundant in spring and summer, but relatively homogeneous in winter. With the increase of bamboo age, the intake of bamboo leaves decreased, while bamboo culms increased. The feed intake of 1-year-old bamboo leaves and 5-year-old bamboo culms reached the highest respectively. The slope orientation also affected the panda's bamboo intake, and the bamboo growing on sunny slopes or semi-sunny slopes was more favored by captive giant pandas. Moreover, the bamboo intake reached the highest when felling-feeding time was less than 24 h. In short, we confirmed that seasons, bamboo age, slope orientations and felling-feeding time were factors affecting bamboo intake for captive giant pandas. Objectives: To compare the image quality of three-dimensional breath-hold magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography with deep learning-based compressed sensing reconstruction (3D DL-CS-MRCP) to those of 3D breath-hold MRCP with compressed sensing (3D CS-MRCP), 3D breath-hold MRCP with gradient and spin–echo (3D GRASE-MRCP) and conventional 2D single-shot breath-hold MRCP (2D MRCP). Methods: In total, 102 consecutive patients who underwent MRCP at 3.0 T, including 2D MRCP, 3D GRASE-MRCP, 3D CS-MRCP, and 3D DL-CS-MRCP, were prospectively included. Two radiologists independently analyzed the overall image quality, background suppression, artifacts, and visualization of pancreaticobiliary ducts using a five-point scale. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the common bile duct (CBD), contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the CBD and liver, and contrast ratio between the periductal tissue and CBD were measured. The Friedman test was performed to compare the four protocols. Results: 3D DL-CS-MRCP resulted in improved SNR and CNR values compared with those in the other three protocols, and better contrast ratio compared with that in 3D CS-MRCP and 3D GRASE-MRCP (all, p < 0.05). Qualitative image analysis showed that 3D DL-CS-MRCP had better performance for second-level intrahepatic ducts and distal main pancreatic ducts compared with 3D CS-MRCP (all, p < 0.05). Compared with 2D MRCP, 3D DL-CS-MRCP demonstrated better performance for the second-order left intrahepatic duct but was inferior in assessing the main pancreatic duct (all, p < 0.05). Moreover, the image quality was significantly higher in 3D DL-CS-MRCP than in 3D GRASE-MRCP. Conclusion: 3D DL-CS-MRCP has superior performance compared with that of 3D CS-MRCP or 3D GRASE-MRCP. Deep learning reconstruction also provides a comparable image quality but with inferior main pancreatic duct compared with that revealed by 2D MRCP. Solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation-induced DNA damage is a major risk factor for skin cancer development. UV-induced redistribution of melanin near keratinocyte nuclei leads to the formation of a supranuclear cap, which acts as a natural sunscreen and protects DNA by absorbing and scattering UV radiation. However, the mechanism underlying the intracellular movement of melanin in nuclear capping is poorly understood. In this study, we found that OPN3 is an important photoreceptor in human epidermal keratinocytes and is critical for UVA-mediated supranuclear cap formation. OPN3 mediates supranuclear cap formation via the calcium-dependent G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway and ultimately upregulates Dync1i1 and DCTN1 expression in human epidermal keratinocytes via activating calcium/CaMKII, CREB, and Akt signal transduction. Together, these results clarify the role of OPN3 in regulating melanin cap formation in human epidermal keratinocytes, greatly expanding our understanding of the phototransduction mechanisms involved in physiological function in skin keratinocytes. Submental island flap has certain advantages in repairing postoperative defects of oral cancer, and it can often achieve similar or even better effects compared with those of the free tissue flap. In this study, according to the different characteristics of patients and postoperative defects of oral cancer, submental island flaps with different states of vascular pedicle were prepared, and its repair methods, safety, and clinical effects in treating postoperative defects of oral cancer were investigated. 83 patients with oral cancer who met the inclusion criteria were selected. According to the different characteristics of the patients and postoperative defects of oral cancer, the traditional submental island flap vascular pedicle was modified into three different states: submental artery perforator flap, vascular pedicled flap with the anterior belly of digastric muscle but without the submandibular gland (SIF with anterior belly of DM), and vascular pedicled flap with the anterior belly of the digastric muscle and the submandibular gland (SIF with anterior belly of DM and SG). The types of the submental artery and the drainage vein, flap survival, and complications, were observed. The flap was successfully harvested for all patients, and the submental artery could be found or separated for all of them, with the venous drainage to the internal jugular vein in 57 (57/83, 68.67%), to the external jugular vein in 18 (18/83, 21.69%), and to the anterior jugular vein in eight (8/83, 9.64%) cases. Submental artery perforator flap was used for 11 cases, complete necrosis occurred in two cases (2/11, 18.18%), partial necrosis occurred in one case (1/11, 9.09%); SIF with anterior belly of DM was used for 49 cases, complete necrosis occurred in one case (1/49, 2.04%), partial necrosis occurred in four cases (4/49, 8.16%); SIF with anterior belly of DM and SG was used for 23 cases, including chimeric flap combining the submental island flap and the submandibular gland used for 15 cases, there were no cases of complete or partial necrosis. Submental island flap was effective in repairing postoperative defects of oral cancer. Monosynaptic viral tracers are essential tools for dissecting neuronal connectomes and for targeted delivery of molecular sensors and effectors. Viral toxicity and complex multi-injection protocols are major limiting application barriers. To overcome these barriers, we developed an anterograde monosynaptic H129Amp tracer system based on HSV-1 strain H129. The H129Amp tracer system consists of two components: an H129-dTK-T2-pacFlox helper which assists H129Amp tracer's propagation and transneuronal monosynaptic transmission. The shared viral features of tracer/helper allow for simultaneous single-injection and subsequent high expression efficiency from multiple-copy of expression cassettes in H129Amp tracer. These improvements of H129Amp tracer system shorten experiment duration from 28-day to 5-day for fast-bright monosynaptic tracing. The lack of toxic viral genes in the H129Amp tracer minimizes toxicity in postsynaptic neurons, thus offering the potential for functional anterograde mapping and long-term tracer delivery of genetic payloads. The H129Amp tracer system is a powerful tracing tool for revealing neuronal connectomes. Minimizing toxicity of herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV) based tools for anterograde tracing is important for functional studies. Large-scale intact glycopeptide identification has been advanced by software tools. However, tools for quantitative analysis remain lagging behind, which hinders exploring the differential site-specific glycosylation. Here, we report pGlycoQuant, a generic tool for both primary and tandem mass spectrometry-based intact glycopeptide quantitation. pGlycoQuant advances in glycopeptide matching through applying a deep learning model that reduces missing values by 19–89% compared with Byologic, MSFragger-Glyco, Skyline, and Proteome Discoverer, as well as a Match In Run algorithm for more glycopeptide coverage, greatly expanding the quantitative function of several widely used search engines, including pGlyco 2.0, pGlyco3, Byonic and MSFragger-Glyco. Further application of pGlycoQuant to the N-glycoproteomic study in three different metastatic HCC cell lines quantifies 6435 intact N-glycopeptides and, together with in vitro molecular biology experiments, illustrates site 979-core fucosylation of L1CAM as a potential regulator of HCC metastasis. We expected further applications of the freely available pGlycoQuant in glycoproteomic studies. Software tools for larger-scale intact glycopeptide quantification lag far behind, which hinders exploring the differential sitespecific glycosylation. Background: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of endogenous noncoding RNAs that are more abundant, specific, and highly organized than linear RNAs. Increasing evidence supports that circRNAs may serve as diagnostic biomarkers in many diseases, but their potential as biomarkers in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) remains unclear. Objective: We investigated the critical circRNAs involved in SLE progression and explored their potential application as biomarkers in SLE. Method: RNA sequencing was conducted on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 4 SLE patients and 4 healthy volunteers. CircRNA profile data were analyzed to identify differentially expressed circRNAs and visualized via R software. After screening, qPCR analysis of target circRNA expression was performed using PBMCs from 31 SLE patients and 35 healthy volunteers. Correlations between circRNA expression levels and the SLEDAI score were assessed via Spearman correlation analysis. Finally, the performance of circRNAs as biomarkers in SLE was examined by receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. Results: The result identified six differentially expressed circRNAs between SLE patients and healthy controls: hsa_circ_0006689, hsa_circ_0070562, hsa_circ_0006117, hsa_circ_0007683, hsa_circ_0042519, and hsa_circ_0008647. The validation analysis showed differing relative expression levels of hsa_circ_0007683, hsa_circ_0042519, hsa_circ_0008647, and hsa_circ_0006689 between SLE patients and healthy volunteers (P < 0.05), and hsa_circ_0006689 expression in PBMCs correlated with the SLEDAI score (P < 0.05). Furthermore, addition of hsa_circ_0006689 expression increased the sensitivities of anti-dsDNA antibody and anti-Sm antibody levels for SLE diagnosis (from 29.03 to 61.30% and 32.26–71.00%, respectively). Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive cognitive impairment. The pathogenesis of AD is complex, and its susceptibility and development process are affected by age, genetic and epigenetic factors. Recent studies confirmed that gut microbiota (GM) might contribute to AD through a variety of pathways including hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis and inflflammatory and immune processes. CM formula, herbs, and monomer enjoy unique advantages to treat and prevent AD. Hence, the purpose of this review is to outline the roles of GM and its core metabolites in the pathogenesis of AD. Research progress of CMs regarding the mechanisms of how they regulate GM to improve cognitive impairment of AD is also reviewed. To find the risk of time thresholds of PROM for infectious diseases of term neonates. A multi-center prospective cohort study including pregnancies with PROM at term with a single fetus were conducted. Time thresholds of the duration from PROM to delivery were examined in 2-h increments to assess the rates of infectious neonatal diseases. 7019 pregnancies were included in the study. Neonatal pneumonia and sepsis were most frequent infectious diseases in neonates born from mother with PROM at term. Rates of early-onset pneumonia varied significantly when comparing length of time of PROM greater than 16 h vs. less than 16 h (for EOP in 3 days of life, adjusted OR 1.864, 95% CI 1.159 ~ 2.997, p = 0.010; for EOP in 7 days of life, adjusted OR 1.704, 95% CI 1.104 ~ 2.628, p = 0.016). Despite the apparent improvement in air quality in recent years through a series of effective measures, the concentration of PM2.5 and O3 in Chengdu city remains high. And both the two pollutants can cause serious damage to human health and property; consequently, it is imperative to accurately forecast hourly concentration of PM2.5 and O3 in advance. In this study, an air quality forecasting method based on random forest (RF) method and improved ant colony algorithm coupled with back-propagation neural network (IACA-BPNN) are proposed. RF method was used to screen out highly correlated input variables, and the improved ant colony algorithm (IACA) was adopted to combine with BPNN to improve the convergence performance. Two datasets based on two different kinds of monitoring stations along with meteorological data were applied to verify the performance of this proposed model and compared with another five plain models. The results showed that the RF-IACA-BPNN model has the minimum statistical error of the mean absolute error, root mean square error, and mean absolute percentage error, and the values of R2 consistently outperform other models. Thus, it is concluded that the proposed model is suitable for air quality prediction. It was also detected that the performance of the models for the forecasting of the hourly concentrations of PM2.5 were more acceptable at suburban station than downtown station, while the case is just the opposite for O3, on account of the low variability dataset at suburban station. We investigated the clinical features and screened for predictive factors of anti-interferon-γ autoantibody (AIGA) positivity. We enrolled 63 AIGA-positive (group 1) and 29 AIGA-negative (group 2) HIV-negative patients. White blood cell (WBC) and neutrophil counts, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and C-reactive protein (CRP), globulin, immunoglobulin (Ig) G, and IgM levels were higher, whereas CD4+T cell count and hemoglobin level were lower in group 1 than in group 2. Co-infections, multiple infections, and disseminated infections were significantly higher in group 1 than in group 2. Prognosis was worse in group 1 than in group 2, especially for relapse and persistent infections. The number of infecting pathogens and sites involved; WBC and neutrophil counts; globulin, IgG, IgM, and CRP levels; and ESR were significantly positively correlated with AIGA titers; however, CD4+T cell count was significantly negatively correlated with AIGA titers. Therefore, IgG, globulin, and CRP levels; CD4+T cell and WBC counts; the number of infecting pathogens and sites involved; and ESR were considered potential predictors for AIGA positivity. For HIV-negative hosts with double or multiple opportunistic, disseminated infections and high serum IgG and globulin levels, low CD4+T cell count, and an increase in inflammatory marker levels, positive AIGA-associated immunodeficiency should be considered. The crop water relationship quantification is conducive to decision-making for regional food safety and resource conservation. However, irrigation water and crop water footprint (CWF) was observed separately in previous studies, which leads to incomplete evaluation of water resource occupation in agricultural system. The crop water resource use (WRU), combining WF and irrigation water accounting, in 31 provinces of China from 1999 to 2018 was estimated in current paper. The driving forces of WRU were analyzed using the logarithmic mean divisia index (LMDI) model, based on its spatial and temporal patterns demonstration. The results showed that national WRU increased from 1051.6 Gm3 in 1999 to 1676.4 Gm3 in 2018, with an average annual growth rate of 2.48%. The provinces with high WRU were mainly distributed in North China and Northeast China. Hebei, Shandong, and Henan jointly contributed 28.9% of the national WRU. In addition, economic level was the largest contributor to promote the growth of WRU, and water use intensity was the most important contributor to inhibit the growth of WRU. Economic level, resource endowment, and population size had a promoting effect on WRU in Northeast, Northwest, North China, and Southeast provinces, while water use intensity, irrigation technique, and urbanization degree showed inhibitory effect in Northeast, Northwest, and Southwest provinces. It is meaningful to combine water footprint and irrigation water use for agricultural water management and conservation. The arid North China Plain should adopt water-saving irrigation and rainwater recycling technologies to control WRU, and the Northeast granary should reduce WRU by strengthening water pollution prevention and improving water resources scheduling to ensure food security and sustainable use of water resources. Dry eye disease (DED), a multifactorial ocular surface disease, is estimated to affect up to 34% of individuals over 50 years old. Although numerous animal models, including rodents and rabbits, have been developed to mimic the pathophysiologic mechanisms involved in dry eye, there is a lack of non-human primate (NHP) models, critical for translational drug studies. Here, we developed a novel desiccating stress-induced dry eye disease model using Rhesus macaque monkeys. The monkeys were housed in a controlled environment room for 21 to 36 days under humidity, temperature, and airflow regulation. Following desiccating stress, NHPs demonstrated clinical symptoms similar to those of humans, as shown by increased corneal fluorescein staining (CFS) and decreased tear-film breakup time (TFBUT). Moreover, corticosteroid treatment significantly reduced CFS scoring, restored TFBUT, and prevented upregulation of tear proinflammatory cytokines as observed in dry eye patients following steroid treatment. The close resemblance of clinical symptoms and treatment responses to those of human DED patients provides great translational value to the NHP model, which could serve as a clinically relevant animal model to study the efficacy of new potential treatments for DED. The cross-reactivity (CR) of monoclonal antibody (mAb) is mainly determined by chemical structure of hapten which is used to synthesize immunogen. Hapten structures are commonly designed based on experience and then verified via experiments. To save cost, a theoretical model is extremely necessary to guide hapten structure design. In this study, the relationship between sulfonamides (SAs) structures and CR of previously obtained broad-specific mAb 2G3 was analyzed to construct stable comparative molecular field assay (CoMFA) and precise machine learning models. A new hapten corresponded to mAb 3D1 with better properties was designed based on the prior knowledge from model analysis of mAb 2G3. The further models for mAb 3D1 were also built and analyzed. Finally, a complementary analysis approach was established to clarify the structural factors and physicochemical factors that affected the CR of mAb by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the respective models of mAb 2G3 and mAb 3D1. When an emergency occurs, there's a massive challenge for experts to select the optimal emergency plan for disaster relief, because the decision-making process is full of uncertainty and fuzziness. This paper develops an emergency group decision-making method to help decision-makers choose the optimal emergency plan under probabilistic hesitant fuzzy environment. In the beginning, we offer a novel concept called probabilistic hesitant fuzzy cumulative residual entropy (PHFCRE) to measure the degree of uncertainty for probabilistic hesitant fuzzy elements (PHFEs). Then, incomplete probabilities for PHFEs are obtained by integrating the PHFCRE with the principle of maximum entropy. In addition, an enhanced weight determination method based on PHFCRE is proposed to obtain the attribute weights. Besides, to rank the alternatives, an enhanced satisfaction degree function based on PHFCRE is proposed. Finally, a real case concerning the snowstorm disaster is provided, and some comparison analyses are conducted to study the reasonability and practicality of the proposed method. The occurrence of ADRs and clinical information were recorded. Chi-square test, Poisson regression, and logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate potential ADR risk factors and correlation with demographics, season, and NICM type.Among the 473,482 patients (mean age 55.22 ± 14.85; 253,499 male) who received intravenous NICM, the overall ADR incidence was 0.110% (522 of 473,482), with 0.099% acute-related drug reactions (469 of 473,482) and 0.0004% serious ADRs (two of 473,482). Iopromide was associated with a higher risk of acute ADRs. Late ADRs were more frequently observed with iodixanol 320. Multi-level logistic regression of patients with acute ADRs and a control group (matched 1:1 for age, gender, NICM, prescriber department, and institution) showed that summer (adjusted OR = 1.579; p = 0.035) and autumn (adjusted OR = 1.925; p < 0.001) were risk factors of acute ADRs. However, underlying disease and scanned body area were not related to a higher ADR incidence.The use of NICM for out-patients is in general safe with a low ADR incidence. The type of contrast medium (iopromide) and the seasons (summer and autumn) were associated with a higher risk of acute ADRs. Late ADRs were more often observed with iodixanol.In comparison to in-patients, out-patients may be exposed to higher risk due to a lack of extensive risk screening, less nursing care, and higher throughput pressure. Retinoblastoma is a rare ocular tumor in children that originates in the retina. Several core transcriptional regulators maintain the expansion of retinoblastoma tumors, including c-Myc. Here, we demonstrated that Helicase with zinc finger domain 2 (HELZ2) promoted retinoblastoma tumorigenesis by targeting c-Myc. HELZ2-deficient inhibited retinoblastoma cell proliferation, whereas overexpression of HELZ2 promoted retinoblastoma cell proliferation. In addition, high levels of HELZ2 promoted xenograft retinoblastoma tumorigenesis and inhibited animal survival. Mechanistically, HELZ2 interacted with c-Myc and promoted its K63-linked polyubiquitination. We indicated that HELZ2 promoted the interaction between E3 ubiquitin ligase HUWE1 and c-Myc, and HELZ2-mediated K63-linked polyubiquitination and activation of c-Myc were dependent on HUWE1. In the present study, we aim to evaluate the delayed and cumulative effect of ozone (O3) exposure on mumps in a megacity with high population density and high humidity. We took Chongqing, a megacity in Southwest China, as the research area and 2013–2017 as the research period. A total of 49,258 confirmed mumps cases were collected from 122 hospitals of Chongqing. We employed the distributed lag nonlinear models with quasi-Poisson link to investigate the relationship between prevalence of mumps and O3 exposure after adjusting for the effects of meteorological conditions. The results show that the effect of O3 exposure on mumps was mainly manifested in the lag of 0–7 days. The single-day ;lag effect was the most obvious on the 4th day, with the relative risk (RR) of mumps occurs of 1.006 (95% CI: 1.003–1.007) per 10 μg/m3 in the O3 exposure. The cumulative RR within 7 days was 1.025 (95% CI: 1.013–1.038). Our results suggest that O3 exposure can increase the risk of mumps infection, which fills the gap of relevant research in mountainous areas with high population density and high humidity. Background: Mg is a macronutrient for plant growth. Mg deficiency has become an important limiting factor in intensive agricultural production, resulting in reduced crop yield and quality. Given that Mg is also essential for human and animals' diets, Mg nutrition in plants has become an important issue not only for food security but also for human health. Scope: We review recent progress in physiological and molecular mechanisms underlying Mg biological functionality, as well as Mg transport and Mg deficiency symptoms in plants. Conclusions: As both a structural component and a regulatory factor, Mg helps plants achieve higher photosynthetic efficiency, nitrogen use efficiency and stress resistance. Plants need a certain range of Mg concentration for their growth, and a number of key genes responsible for Mg uptake, translocation and detoxification have been identified. Despite its functional importance, basic researches on Mg nutrition are still scarce. A deeper investigation of the genetic and molecular mechanisms employed in Mg nutrition will help to improve crop yield and intensify Mg application in the field. Background: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), a subtype of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), causes high mortality around the world. Previous studies have suggested that the metabolic pattern of tumor is associated with tumor response to immunotherapy and patient's survival outcome. Yet, this relationship in LUAD is still unknown. Methods: Therefore, in this study, we identified the immune landscape in different tumor subtypes classified by metabolism-related genes expression with a large-scale dataset (tumor samples, n = 2181; normal samples, n = 419). We comprehensively correlated metabolism-related phenotypes with diverse clinicopathologic characteristics, genomic features, and immunotherapeutic efficacy in LUAD patients. Results: And we confirmed tumors with activated lipid metabolism tend to have higher immunocytes infiltration and better response to checkpoint immunotherapy. This work highlights the connection between the metabolic pattern of tumor and tumor immune infiltration in LUAD. A scoring system based on metabolism-related gene expression is not only able to predict prognosis of patient with LUAD but also applied to pan-cancer. LUAD response to checkpoint immunotherapy can also be predicted by this scoring system. Conclusions: This work revealed the significant connection between metabolic pattern of tumor and tumor immune infiltration, regulating LUAD patients' response to immunotherapy. To describe the clinical features and the risk factors for nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) and Talaromyces marneffei (TM) co-infections in HIV-negative patients. A multicenter retrospective study in 13 hospitals, and a systematic literature review were performed of original articles published in English related to TM/NTM co-infections. HIV-negative patients with TM and NTM co-infections comprised Group 1; TM-only infection Group 2; NTM-only infection Group 3; and healthy volunteers Group 4. Univariate logistic analysis was used to estimate the potential risk factors of TM/NTM co-infections. A total of 22 cases of TM and NTM co-infections were enrolled. Of these, 17 patients (77.3%) had a missed diagnosis of one of the TM or NTM pathogens. The anti-IFN-γ autoantibodies (AIGAs) titer, white blood cell (WBC), neutrophil counts (N), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C reactive protein (CRP), globulin, and immunoglobulin G (IgG) levels of Group 1 were higher than those of the other groups, whereas the levels of CD4+T cells was lower than those of other groups. There was a significant negative correlation between the AIGA titers and the number of CD4+T cells (P < 0.05). Factors including the ratio of the actual values to the cut-off values of AIGAs, WBC, N, HGB, CD4+T cells, IgG, IgM, IgA, serum globulin, ESR, and CRP were taken as potential risk factors for TM and NTM co-infection. Most patients with TM and NTM co-infection had a missed diagnosis of one of the TM or NTM pathogens. The levels of AIGAs, WBC, N, ESR, and CRP in TM and NTM co-infections were remarkably higher than in mono-infection. Water use efficiency (WUE) improvements in agricultural production are of great significance to regional food security and ecological sustainability. Based on modified water footprint (WF) calculations for corn cultivation in China, WUE indices of water productivity (WP) and water efficiency (WE) for production capacity and the effective ratio of water resources were developed and quantified in the current study. Approaches to achieving national productive and effective improvements concurrently were sought by determining the spatial-temporal patterns and determinants of WP and WE during 1996–2015. The results show that the annual crop WF was estimated at 197.3 m³, including 14.1 % blue, 62.4 % green and 23.4 % gray components. WP and WE were calculated as 0.781 kg/m³ and 0.687, respectively, both of which increased over time in all subregions. Both WP and WE showed obvious spatial differences in the observed period. Low-value provinces were concentrated in the northwest and on the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, and most high-value regions were distributed in the southeastern coastal zone. Agricultural production technology improvements contributed to WF reductions in specific areas, while meteorological elements and planting structure were the main factors affecting the spatial distribution of WP and WE. WF suppression in northwestern China and expansion of the production scale in southern China were conducive to increasing productive and effective agricultural water resource use in corn cultivation nationally. As a two-dimensional (2D) material, graphene shows excellent advantages in the field of gas sensors due to its inherent large specific surface area and unique electrical properties. However, in the practical application of gas detection, graphene sheet is easy to form irreversible agglomeration and has some limitations such as low sensitivity, long response time and slow recovery speed, which greatly reduce its gas sensing performance. As a gas sensing material, three-dimensional (3D) porous graphene has been extensively studied in recent years owing to its larger specific surface area and stable structure. In order to synthesize graphene with different three-dimensional structures, many methods have been developed. Herein, the synthesis and assembly of three-dimensional graphene and its composites were reviewed, with emphasis on the application of three-dimensional graphene and its composites in the field of gas sensors. Anterograde viral tracers are powerful and essential tools for dissecting the output targets of a brain region of interest. They have been developed from herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) strain H129 (H129), and have been successfully applied to map diverse neural circuits. Initially, the anterograde polysynaptic tracer H129-G4 was used by many groups. We then developed the first monosynaptic tracer, H129-dTK-tdT, which was highly successful, yet improvements are needed. Now, by inserting another tdTomato expression cassette into the H129-dTK-tdT genome, we have created H129-dTK-T2, an updated version of H129-dTK-tdT that has improved labeling intensity. To help scientists produce and apply our H129-derived viral tracers, here we provide the protocol describing our detailed and standardized procedures. Commonly-encountered technical problems and their solutions are also discussed in detail. This paper proposes an observer-based fuzzy controller for strict-feedback nonlinear systems. A fuzzy state observer is designed to estimate unmeasurable system states via a fuzzy logic system to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions of the system. A tangent prescribed performance function is utilized to gather the tracking error in a small neighborhood of the origin. The control input is designed to deal with the dead-zone property of the system. The proposed controller can guarantee that all the signals in the closed-loop system are semi-globally, uniformly, and ultimately bounded. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1) has been shown to play a critical role in the development of several malignancies. However, the potential molecular mechanism of MALAT1 in glioma remains unclear. In the present study, we found that the expression of MALAT1 was aberrantly increased in both human glioma tissues and cells and associated with poor prognosis in glioma patients. We further found that MALAT1 silencing significantly inhibited glioma cell proliferation while induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. In parallel, knockdown of MALAT1 decreased tumor volume in vivo. These results suggested that MALAT1 acts as a functional oncogene, resulting in the oncogenicity in glioma. Nevertheless, the tumor-suppressive effect of MALAT1 silencing was reversed by miR-124. Besides, the relevance of ZEB2 in tumor progression has been studied in several forms of human cancer, and ZEB2 was identified as a target of miR-124 and negatively regulated by miR-124. MALAT1 overexpression or miR-124 inhibitor led to increased expression of ZEB2. In most cases, designers must manually specify geometric tolerance types and values when designing mechanical products. For the same nominal geometry, different designers may specify different types and values of geometric tolerances. To reduce the uncertainty and realize the tolerance specification automatically, a tolerance specification method based on machine learning is proposed. The innovation of this paper is to find out the information that affects geometric tolerances selection and use machine learning methods to generate tolerance specifications. The realization of tolerance specifications is changed from rule-driven to data-driven. In this paper, feature engineering is performed on the data for the application scenarios of tolerance specifications, which improves the performance of the machine learning model. This approach firstly considers the past tolerance specification schemes as cases and sets up the cases to the tolerance specification database which contains information such as datum reference frame, positional relationship, spatial relationship, and product cost. Then perform feature engineering on the data and established machine learning algorithm to convert the tolerance specification problem into an optimization problem. Finally, a gear reducer as a case study is given to verify the method. The results are evaluated with three different machine learning evaluation indicators and made a comparison with the tolerance specification method in the industry. The final results show that the machine learning algorithm can automatically generate tolerance specifications, and after feature engineering, the accuracy of the tolerance specification results is improved. In recent years, there has been significant growth in the demand for secondary batteries, and researchers are increasingly taking an interest in the development of next-generation battery systems. Magnesium-ion batteries (MIBs) have been recognized as the optimal alternative to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to their low cost, superior safety, and environment-friendliness. However, research and development on rechargeable MIBs are still underway as some serious problems need to be resolved. One of the most serious obstacles is the generation of an irreversible passivation layer on the surface of the Mg anode during cycling. In addition to exploring new electrolytes for MIBs, alternative anode materials for MIBs might be an effective solution to this issue. In this review, the composition and working principle of MIBs have been discussed. In addition, recent advances in the area of anode materials (metals and their alloys, metal oxides, and two-dimensional materials) available for MIBs and the corresponding Mg-storage mechanisms have also been summarized. Participation in student peer leader roles, roles in which more senior students serve as mentors and educators to their peers, have continued to grow in their application and importance to institutions of higher education around the globe. Using a theoretical approach based in Legitimate Peripheral Participation and drawing from the International Survey of Peer Leaders, our paper explored the role of the quality and quantity of participation in important outcomes of the college experience: leadership development, skill development, and academic success. The results showed that the number of hours per week spent on peer leadership activities and the total number of peer leadership positions contributed to positive quality of engagement and enhanced students’ academic outcomes, overall leadership skills, and career readiness. Moreover, findings showed that the quality of engagement moderated the influences of the quantity of participation particularly for measures of academic success. As students develop relationships with faculty, staff, and peers throughout their time in peer leader roles and feel a deepening sense of connection and belonging to the college or university, students in peer leader roles become fuller participants in the academic community and, as a result, develop the knowledge, skills, and ways of doing, thinking, knowing, and being that are critical for student success. Tanshinones are the bioactive nor-diterpenoid constituents of the Chinese medicinal herb Danshen (Salvia miltiorrhiza). These groups of chemicals have the characteristic furan D-ring, which differentiates them from the phenolic abietane-type diterpenoids frequently found in the Lamiaceae family. However, how the 14,16-epoxy is formed has not been elucidated. Here, we report an improved genome assembly of Danshen using a highly homozygous genotype. We identify a cytochrome P450 (CYP71D) tandem gene array through gene expansion analysis. We show that CYP71D373 and CYP71D375 catalyze hydroxylation at carbon-16 (C16) and 14,16-ether (hetero)cyclization to form the D-ring, whereas CYP71D411 catalyzes upstream hydroxylation at C20. In addition, we discover a large biosynthetic gene cluster associated with tanshinone production. Collinearity analysis indicates a more specific origin of tanshinones in Salvia genus. It illustrates the evolutionary origin of abietane-type diterpenoids and those with a furan D-ring in Lamiaceae. Salvia miltiorrhiza is a medicinal plant that can produce the bioactive tanshinones. Here, the authors report the improved genome assembly and reveal the possible roles of three CYP71Ds in catalyzing the reactions leading to the formation of the characteristic furan D-ring of transhinones. Biomarker selection and cancer classification play an important role in knowledge discovery using genomic data. Successful identification of gene biomarkers and biological pathways can significantly improve the accuracy of diagnosis and help machine learning models have better performance on classification of different types of cancer. In this paper, we proposed a LogSum + L2 penalized logistic regression model, and furthermore used a coordinate decent algorithm to solve it. The results of simulations and real experiments indicate that the proposed method is highly competitive among several state-of-the-art methods. Polylactide (PLA), poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate) (P(3HB-co-4HB)), and poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) ternary blends were prepared by extrusion blending. The biodegradable PLA/P(3HB-co-4HB)/PBAT films were successfully obtained by using blown films technique. Excellent stiffness-toughness balance was achieved for 55/10/35 PLA/P(3HB-co-4HB)/PBAT film. The tensile strength reached 33.0 MPa (MD) and 23.5 MPa (TD), the elongation at break exceeded 130 %, and tear strength exceeded 110 kN/m. The Young's modulus as low as about 1800 MPa also met packaging applications. SEM observations revealed rough and long ligaments, indicating that the tear specimens were broken yieldingly. The addition of PBAT elastomers was the main reason for the improved toughness of the film. From DMA and SEM analysis, it was demonstrated that PLA, P(3HB-co-4HB), and PBAT were partially compatible. With increasing P(3HB-co-4HB) content, the melt and cold crystallization of PLA was promoted. The enzymatic degradation experiments indicated that the films had good biodegradability.
