Chimeric RNAs, distinct from DNA gene fusions, have emerged as promising therapeutic targets with diverse functions in cancer treatment. However, the functional significance and therapeutic potential of most chimeric RNAs remain unclear. Here we identify a novel fusion transcript of solute carrier family 2‐member 11 (SLC2A11) and macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF). In this study, we investigated the upregulation of SLC2A11–MIF in The Cancer Genome Atlas cohort and a cohort of patients from Sun Yat‐Sen Memorial Hospital. Subsequently, functional investigations demonstrated that SLC2A11–MIF enhanced the proliferation, antiapoptotic effects, and metastasis of bladder cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, the fusion protein encoded by SLC2A11–MIF interacted with polypyrimidine tract binding protein 1 (PTBP1) and regulated the mRNA half‐lives of Polo Like Kinase 1, Roundabout guidance receptor 1, and phosphoinositide‐3‐kinase regulatory subunit 3 in BCa cells. Moreover, PTBP1 knockdown abolished the enhanced impact of SLC2A11–MIF on biological function and mRNA stability. Furthermore, the expression of SLC2A11–MIF mRNA is regulated by CCCTC‐binding factor and stabilized through RNA N4‐acetylcytidine modification facilitated by N‐acetyltransferase 10. Overall, our findings revealed a significant fusion protein orchestrated by the SLC2A11–MIF–PTBP1 axis that governs mRNA stability during the multistep progression of bladder cancer. Salt‐sensitive hypertension is common among individuals with essential hypertension, and the prevalence of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) has increased. However, data from early identification of the risk of developing LVH in young adults with salt‐sensitive hypertension are lacking. Thus, the present study aimed to design a nomogram for predicting the risk of developing LVH in young adults with salt‐sensitive hypertension. A retrospective analysis of 580 patients with salt‐sensitive hypertension was conducted. The training set consisted of 70% (n = 406) of the patients, while the validation set consisted of the remaining 30% (n = 174). Based on multivariate analysis of the training set, predictors for LVH were extracted to develop a nomogram. Discrimination curves, calibration curves, and clinical utility were employed to assess the predictive performance of the nomogram. The final simplified nomogram model included age, sex, office systolic blood pressure, duration of hypertension, abdominal obesity, triglyceride‐glucose index, and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). In the training set, the model demonstrated moderate discrimination, as indicated by an area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of 0.863 (95% confidence interval: 0.831–0.894). The calibration curve exhibited good agreement between the predicted and actual probabilities of LVH in the training set. Additionally, the validation set further confirmed the reliability of the prediction nomogram. In conclusions, the simplified nomogram, which consists of seven routine clinical variables, has shown good performance and clinical utility in identifying young adults with salt‐sensitive hypertension who are at high risk of LVH at an early stage. Gels with excellent ionic conductivity and resilience to temperature extremes are sought in practical applications due to their potential for building flexible and wearable soft electronics. In this work, highly conductive eutectogels are fabricated by one‐step polymerization of (3‐acrylamidopropyl) trimethyl ammonium chloride in deep eutectic solvents (DESs). Owing to the ion‐conductive polymer networks facilitating ion conduction, these eutectogels exhibit a significant enhancement in ionic conductivity (27.1 mS cm−1), demonstrating an order of magnitude higher than that of pure DES. Furthermore, due to several unique properties of DES, these eutectogels exhibit excellent stretchability (>1000%), good adhesion, as well as nonflammability performance over a wide temperature range (−40 to 100°C). Moreover, the strain sensor based on the eutectogel shows a highly sensitive response (gauge factor = 6.92) to a broad strain range (from 450% to 550%), enabling the accurate and reliable detection of various human movements. Additionally, our findings reveal that the eutectogel‐based sensor displays a comparable pattern of response curves with negligible signal deterioration, even at extreme temperatures of −20 and 60°C. Fabrication of versatile hydrogels in a facile and effective manner represents a pivotal challenge in the field of biomaterials. Herein, a novel strategy is presented for preparing on‐demand degradable hydrogels with multilevel responsiveness. By employing selenol‐dichlorotetrazine nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) to synthesize hydrogels under mild conditions in a buffer solution, the necessity of additives or posttreatments can be obviated. The nucleophilic and redox reactions between selenol and tetrazine culminate in the formation of three degradable chemical bonds—diselenide, aryl selenide, and dearomatized selenide—in a single, expeditious step. The resultant hydrogel manifests exceptional adaptability to intricate environments in conjunction with self‐healing and on‐demand degradation properties. Furthermore, the resulting material demonstrated light‐triggered antibacterial activity. Animal studies further underscore the potential of integrating metformin into Se‐Tz hydrogels under green light irradiation, as it effectively stimulates angiogenesis and collagen deposition, thereby fostering efficient wound healing. In comparison to previously documented hydrogels, Se‐Tz hydrogels exhibit controlled degradation and drug release, outstanding antibacterial activity, mechanical robustness, and bioactivity, all without the need for costly and intricate preparation procedures. Optimally increasing the catalytic activity of Co3O4‐based materials is crucial for promoting their practical applications for acetone detection; however, this still remains challenging. Herein, a strategy is proposed in this work to increase the catalytic activity of Co3O4 toward the oxidation of acetone through the synergistic effect of boron doping and chemical reduction, which can substantially improve the sensing performance for acetone detection. The characterization results confirm that the present strategy facilitates the formation of more oxygen vacancies and increases the content of Co2+ ions serving as active sites. As expected, the optimal sensor yields a higher response. To extend the practical application to the auxiliary diagnosis of diabetes through exhaled breath, the optimal sensors distinguished between acetone concentrations in the breath of healthy individuals and in the simulated breath of patients with diabetes. Detailed gas‐sensing measurements reveal that the enhanced acetone sensing performance is attributed to the increased catalytic activity of materials for oxidation of acetone by the Mars–van Krevelen, Langmuir–Hinshelwood, and Eley–Rideal mechanisms. Fixing the greenhouse gas CO2 through epoxide helps to mitigate worldwide ecological troubles. The applications of metal‐free and solvent‐free catalysts remain a challenge for CO2 catalytic conversion. In this work, an array of quaternary ammonium salts derived from polyethyleneimine with hydroxyl groups ([PEI‐GDMAB‐Cn]Br) were constructed by the reaction of branched PEI with a molecular weight of 10000 and glycidyl alkyl dimethylammonium bromide. A range of experiments were designed to demonstrate that [PEI‐GDMAB‐Cn]Br can be considered as a valid metal‐free and solvent‐free homogeneous catalyst for the CO2‐epoxide cycloaddition reaction. Among of [PEI‐GDMAB‐Cn]Br, [PEI‐GDMAB‐C18]Br catalyzed the model reaction of CO2 and epichlorohydrin under optimized reaction conditions (T=80 °C, 1.0 atm CO2, catalyst 1 mol%, ECH 15 mmol, 16 h) and the conversion achieved at 97.5 %. Moreover, the catalyst exhibited stable reusability and broad substrate applicability, which was used in the following cycle succinctly, because of self‐separated properties by temperature control. The [PEI‐GDMAB‐C18]Br catalyzed reaction process was detected as a pseudo‐first‐order reaction after kinetic studies and an Ea was calculated to be 50.65 kJ/mol. Conductive hydrogels can be utilized in the field of flexible supercapacitors due to their stretchable properties and high ionic conductivity. However, many of the conductive hydrogels lose their stretchability and conductivity at subzero temperatures. Herein, a novel Janus POSS‐based hydrogel electrolyte that shows excellent flexibility and ionic conductivity at low temperatures is designed and prepared by the copolymerization of acrylamide and a water‐soluble Janus‐type polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (AS‐POSS) containing sodium sulfonate groups and double bonding groups. The sodium sulfonate groups of AS‐POSS and LiCl endow the hydrogel electrolyte with excellent anti‐freezing ability. Simultaneously, the double bonding groups of AS‐POSS enable a successful POSS crosslinking in the polymer network, resulting in a highly stretchable hydrogel electrolyte (1445%) with high ionic conductivity (0.067 S cm−1) at −20°C. Thereafter, the all‐in‐one flexible supercapacitor is prepared by in‐situ polymerization of aniline. Based on the exceptional anti‐freezing properties of the Janus POSS‐based hydrogel electrolyte, the all‐in‐one supercapacitor exhibits stable electrochemical performance (>90% capacitance retained under deformation at −20°C) and excellent cycling stability (only 19.7% capacitance decay over 2000 charge/discharge cycles at −20°C) at low temperatures. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) symbiosis plays essential roles in shaping rhizosphere soil available phosphorus (P) and organic P mobilization. However, current methods for assessing soil P often do not fully consider the potential role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in supplying biologically‐based phosphorus (BBP) to Eucalyptus. This study aims to investigate the effects of AMF on the soil BBP of Eucalyptus plantations and which species prefer to translocate them in phosphorus‐deficient soils. Rhizosphere soil samples of Eucalyptus plantations (in south China) exhibiting different ages (varying between 1 to 12 years) were selected to investigate the evolution of AMF and BBP in soils, as well as their interaction mechanism. The impacts of eight AMF families on BBP were investigated in rhizosphere soil. All BBP contents are significantly positively correlated with Olsen P in the rhizosphere soil of Eucalyptus plantations (p < 0.01). The BBP in soil was notably influenced by AMF diversity, while AMF richness showed little effect on BBP. The abundance of Glomeraceae taxa showed a positive correlation with BBP and a negative correlation with Paraglomeraceae. In contrast, the relative abundance of Glomeraceae was higher in older plantations (including Archaeosporaceae, Claroideoglomeraceae). From the above results, we concluded that different species of the AMF modulated their mycorrhizal traits by improving BBP uptake in the rhizosphere soil. AMF groups (such as Glomeraceae, Archaeosporaceae, Claroideoglomeraceae) should be introduced or amplified at the beginning of planting to promote the uptake and utilization of bioavailable P in Eucalyptus plantations. This work proposes a facile and economical hybrid additive manufacturing (HAM)technology combining fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printing and laser‐activated selective electroless plating (ELP) for fabricating full functional end‐use 3D customized electronics. A functional acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) filament doped with dicopper hydroxide phosphate (Cu2(OH)PO4) catalysts is developed for FDM 3D printing. The 3D printed structure is selectively laser‐activated to generate CuI plating seeds on the ABS surface and then electrolessly plated. The poor surface finish, especially the layer lines, is an intrinsic defect of extrusion 3D printing, which not only affected the fabrication quality of the 3D substrates but also the electrical performance of the attached circuitry. Herein, a chemical polishing process based on acetone vapor is explored and characterized to significantly improve the surface quality and thereby the electrical performance of the attached copper layer. In this way, highly conductive metallic circuitry can be freeformly deposited and patterned on the 3D structure which is extremely attractive for customized 3D electronics. Medial opening‐wedge high tibial osteotomy (MOWHTO) is a well‐established surgical method for treatment of isolated medial compartment osteoarthritis with varus deformity, but the surgical outcomes may be compromised by surgical site infection (SSI). This study aimed to investigate the incidence and the risk factors for SSI after MOWHTO. This retrospective study included consecutive patients who underwent MOWHTO for isolated medial compartment osteoarthritis with varus deformity in two tertiary referral hospitals from January 2019 and June 2021. Patients who developed SSI within 12 months of surgery were identified by inquiring the medical records for index hospitalisation, notes of after‐discharge outpatient visits, or records of readmission for treatment of SSI. Univariate comparisons were performed to detect the differences between SSI and non‐SSI groups, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to identify the independent risk factors. Six hundred sixteen patients with 708 procedures were included and 30 (4.2%) cases of SSI occurred, with 0.6% rate for deep SSI and 3.6% for superficial. Univariate analyses showed significant difference between groups in terms of morbidity obesity (≥32 kg/m2) (20.0% vs 8.9%), comorbid diabetes (26.7% vs 11.1%), active smoking (20.0% vs 6.3%), time from admission to operation (5.2 ± 4.0 vs 4.1 ± 3.0), size of osteotomy ≥12 mm (40.0% vs 20.0%), type of bone grafting and lymphocyte count (2.1 ± 0.5 vs 1.9 ± 0.6). However, in the multivariate analysis, only active smoking (OR, 3.4; 95% CI, 1.4‐10.2), size of osteotomy ≥12 mm (OR, 2.8; 95% CI, 1.3‐5.9) and allogeneic/artificial vs no bone grafting (OR, 2.4; 95% CI, 1.0‐10.8) remained significant. SSI was not uncommon after MOWHTO, but the majority was superficial. The identified three independent factors, including smoking, size of osteotomy ≥12 mm and allogeneic/artificial bone grafting would help risk assessment and stratification, target risk factor modification and clinical surveillance, and inform patient counselling. Understanding the process of protein–RNA interaction is essential for structural biology. The thermodynamic process is an important part to uncover the protein–RNA interaction mechanism. The regulatory networks between protein and RNA in organisms are dominated by the binding or dissociation in the cells. Therefore, determining the binding affinity for protein–RNA complexes can help us to understand the regulation mechanism of protein–RNA interaction. Since it is time‐consuming and labor‐intensive to determine the binding affinity for protein–RNA complexes by experimental methods, it is necessary and urgent to develop computational methods to predict that. To develop a binding affinity prediction model, first we update the dataset of protein–RNA binding affinity benchmark (PRBAB), which includes 145 complexes now. Second, we extract the structural features based on complex structure, and then we analyze and select the representative structural features to train the regression model. Third, we random select the subset from the PRBAB2.0 to fit the protein–RNA binding affinity determined by experiment. In the end, we tested our model on the nonredundant PDBbind dataset, and the results showed that Pearson correlation coefficient r =.57 and RMSE = 2.51 kcal/mol. The Pearson correlation coefficient achieves 0.7 while removing 5 complex structures with modified residues/nucleotides and metal ions. While testing on ProNAB, the results showed that 71.60% of the prediction achieves Pearson correlation coefficient r =.61 and RMSE = 1.56 kcal/mol with experiment values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Programmed 4D printing shape‐memory polymers (SMPs) have been endorsed as an emerging paradigm for developing adaptive dynamic components with sophisticated architectures and biomimetic adaptation capacities. However, the species of SMPs systems are still rare while most of them are produced from expensive monomers which have restricted their mass production. Moreover, most SMPs show poor elongation at break and strain which cannot support a higher degree of bending during shape memory deformation. Herein, a kind of new epoxy vinyl ester resin ink is developed and improves the 4D printing process of shape memory epoxy‐based polymer. By adjusting the printing conditions to match the ink property, a series of precisely designed printing structures are successfully produced. The printed SMP system shows a favorable strain rate under heat‐treated conditions above its glass transition temperature (Tg) which leads to fine shape memory performance. Furthermore, the printed components obtained through micro to macro multi‐scale 4D printing structure design confirm its application potential as dynamic adaptive devices in aerospace and safety engineering. The chemical formula of basic zinc chloride is Zn5(OH)8Cl2 · H2O (denoted as ZHC). It is a new type of zinc source additive, widely used in the feed industry. In this article, micron‐sized hexagonal flake ZHC with a diameter of 10–60 µm is directly prepared by ammonia precipitation method using ZnCl2 as raw material. The products are characterized and analyzed by X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and laser particle size analyzer. The effects of reaction temperature, ammonia flow rate, aging time, and reactant concentration on the product morphology are studied. Under the optimum reaction conditions, the ZnCl2 concentration is 2.0 mol L−1, NH3 flow rate is 300 mL min−1, the reaction time is 1 h, the reaction temperature is 80 °C, and the aging time is 5 h. Lastly, the yield reaches 49.06%. The growth habit of ZHC is theoretically analyzed by the Morphology program. The calculation results are in good agreement with the experimental results. The change of (003) crystal plane exposure caused by temperature is an important reason for the non‐ideality of macroscopic morphology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As a key step of tumor lymphatic metastasis, lymphangiogenesis is regulated by VEGFC‐VEGFR3 signaling pathway mediated by immune cells, mainly macrophages, in the tumor microenvironment. However, little is known whether tumor associated neutrophils are involved in lymphangiogenesis. Here, it is found that TANs infiltration is increased in LN‐metastatic BCa and is associated with poor prognosis. Neutrophil depletion results in significant reduction in popliteal LN metastasis and lymphangiogenesis. Mechanistically, transcription factor ETV4 enhances BCa cells‐derived CXCL1/8 to recruit TANs, leading to the increase of VEGFA and MMP9 from TANs, and then facilitating lymphangiogenesis and LN metastasis of BCa. Moreover, phosphorylation of ETV4 at tyrosine 392 by tyrosine kinase PTK6 increases nuclear translocation of ETV4 and is essential for its function in BCa. Overall, the findings reveal a novel mechanism of how tumor cells regulate TANs‐induced lymphangiogenesis and LN metastasis and identify ETV4 as a therapeutic target of LN metastasis in BCa. Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) has been proven as an ideal alternative surgical procedure to treat symptomatic isolated knee osteoarthritis, and recently this technique has gained its popularity. However, postoperative complications would inevitably compromise the effectiveness and patients' satisfaction. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the incidence and risk factors of delayed wound healing (DWH) after UKA. This retrospective cohort study was conducted from February 2021 to May 2022 and a total of 211 patients were enrolled. Demographic characteristics, operation‐related variables, and laboratory indexes were extracted. Receiver operating characteristic analysis was performed to detect the optimum cut‐off value for continuous variables. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to demonstrate the risk factors of DWH. There were 155 female and 56 male patients with an average age of 64. 6 ± 6.9 years included in this study. After 6.6 ± 4.9 months' follow‐up, 12 cases of DWH were observed which indicated an incidence of DWH of 5.7%, mean wound healing duration for 12 patients was 43.1 ± 19.3 days. In the univariate analysis, age > 62.5 years, postoperative hospital stay < 5.5 days, surgical incision < 10.5 cm, barbed suture, body mass index (BMI) > 32.0 kg/m2, operation duration > 102.5 minutes, intraoperative blood loss > 102.5 mL, preoperative white blood cell count > 5.95*109/L, preoperative seroglobulin (GLB) > 29.6 g/L, postoperative total protein < 63.4 g/L, postoperative serum albumin < 36.4 g/L, and postoperative GLB > 26.8 g/L were significantly different between patients with and without DWH (P <.05). In final multivariate logistic analysis, results showed that intraoperative blood loss > 102.5 mL (odds ratio [OR], 3.09; P =.001), postoperative hospital stay < 5.5 days (OR, 1.74; P =.014), surgical incision < 10.5 cm (OR, 1.67; P =.000), and BMI > 32.0 kg/m2 (OR, 4.47; P =.022) were independent risk factors for DWH. DWH prolongs hospital stay in UKA patients and increases healthcare expenditure; also affected the implementation schedule of postoperative functional exercise plans. The human visual system plays the most important role in information perception. Inspired by its structure and processing mechanism, novel optoelectronic memristor‐based artificial visual systems have emerged, thanks to the advantages of time latency and energy efficiency. However, the established systems lack a complete hardware supporting system to demonstrate the potential of large‐scale integration. Herein for the first time, a gate multiplexing architecture for optical signal sensor and memory integration is proposed, which can achieve multivalue storage of 3‐bit optical signal in the analog domain. Based on this novel structure, an artificial visual sensor and memory system (AVSMS) is implemented with a 5 × 6 photodiode array, an I/V conversion circuit, and a 32 × 32 1T1R memristor array for image sensor and memory integration. Furthermore, a parallel pipeline storage strategy is proposed to enable AVSMS to store 32 images with a size of 5 × 6 pixels and 3‐bit grayscale without erasing operation and achieve an ideal frame rate of more than 60 000 frames per second for high‐speed storage. Experimental results demonstrate that AVSMS can directly eliminate repeated background information in sequential images through peripheral hardware circuitry. Conventional machine vision systems suffer from great data latency and energy consumption in cognitive tasks due to the separated vision sensors, memory units, and processors. In‐sensor computing based on optoelectronic synapses allows efficient computation by directly sensing and processing optical signals. Herein, an optoelectronic synapse based on Au/ZnO:N/IGZO/TiN structure is proposed. It shows uniform optical SET and electrical RESET behaviors, with various light‐tunable plasticity. Furthermore, a 4‐bit reservoir is experimentally implemented on the device, which is ideal to construct in‐sensor reservoir computing (RC) system. By converting spatiotemporal optical signals to higher dimensional feature space, in‐sensor RC has a great advantage in processing sequential visual information. Simulation results demonstrate that the in‐sensor RC system based on the proposed synapse achieves a considerable recognition accuracy (90.45%) for the MNIST dataset with very limited 36‐30‐10 perceptron network, and a 97.14% accuracy for human action classification from sequential vision data based on the Weizmann dataset. This work proves the low training cost and great efficiency for processing spatiotemporal and sequential optical signals, which may pave a new way for future machine vision applications. By pyrolyzed the products from hydrothermal reaction of 1, 4, 5, 8‐naphthalene tetramethyl anhydride, NaOH and FeSO4, the nanoparticles of FeFe2O4 were produced, and then its electrochemical performance of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) was evaluated in O2 saturated 0.1 M KOH solution. The results indicated that, among all the as‐prepared samples, FeFe2O4‐0.50 was mainly composed of uniformly dispersed spherical nanoparticles of 20‐30nm and behaved the best ORR catalytic performance. Its half‐wave potential and limiting diffusion current density was 0.61 V and −1.85 mA cm−2@0.4 V vs. RHE), respectively, higher about 20 mV and 1.29 mA cm−2 than that of FeFe2O4 (0.59 V and −0.56 mA cm−2@0.4 V vs. RHE). In addition, FeFe2O4‐0.50 also showed stronger stability as well as methanol/CO tolerance than that of commercial 20 % Pt/C. It was the evenly dispersed FeFe2O4 nanoscale and Fe−O bond in FeFe2O4‐0.50 that contributed its excellent electrochemical performance and tolerance for CO and methanol. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are emerging adsorbent materials for CO2 capture and separation due to their tunable pore size, periodic permutation, and chemical thermal stability. Herein, four functionalized 3D COF‐300s (COF‐300‐X, X = –SO3H, –NO2, –OH, and –NH2) for CO2 adsorption and separation are studied by using density functional theory and grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation. The results show that four functionalized COF‐300s could create a feasible environment for CO2 adsorption with high accessible surface area, suitable pore size, and high porosity. The CO2 adsorption capacity in COF‐300s could be significantly improved by functionalization. In comparison, the best performing COF‐300‐SO3H shows a superior CO2 adsorption capacity of 6.23 mmol g−1 and a high CO2/N2 selectivity of 393 at 298 K and 100 kPa. The adsorption heat and interaction analyses demonstrate that the CO2 affinity in COF‐300s is enhanced by the introduction of polar functional groups, which renders great CO2 adsorption and separation performances. The gas distribution shows that the adsorption sites are concentrated near the functional groups and the distribution of CO2 in COF‐300‐SO3H has a characteristic of multilayer adsorptions. Memristor is a potential basic unit for the in‐memory computing system, which is an approach to break the memory wall of the traditional computer. However, low switching speed, nonuniform device characteristics, and inefficient logic synthesis hinder the development of memristor‐based in‐memory computing. Herein, a novel Cu/α‐Si/α‐C/Pt memristor and direct resistance‐coupling logic synthesis scheme to construct high‐efficiency in‐memory computing is presented. The memristor shows excellent uniformity of low/high resistance (relative dispersion σ/μ = 4.68% and 3.28%) and SET/RESET voltage (relative dispersion σ/μ = 3.24% and 5.85%), fast switching speed (≈30 ns), good endurance (>108), and long retention (>105 s at 100 °C). Complete set of Boolean logic and some derived logic operators are efficiently implemented in the Cu/α‐Si/α‐C/Pt crossbar array. Furthermore, the reconfigurable and parallel logic synthesis is experimentally demonstrated by one‐bit full adder and parallel copy operation. Polyimide (PI) aerogels with excellent mechanical and thermal stability, low density, and flexibility have attracted extensive attention in recent years. However, the existing preparation method usually requires chemical pre‐crosslinking followed by supercritical drying or freeze drying, and then thermal imidization, which has the weakness of a complicated preparation method and high cost. In this study, PI aerogels were prepared by a simple method that involved freeze extraction and chemical imidization, which exhibited low density (0.14 g cm−3), high porosity (85.61%), excellent thermal stability (T5% and Tg were 418.12 and 230.60°C, respectively), shape fidelity, and compressibility. Furthermore, this method regulated the pore size, such as the macro/microstructure, and then used the PI aerogel ink to build complex architectures by 3D printing. As a proof of concept, pyramids, multilayer grids, ring‐hole disks, Chinese knots and cuboids were printed, and all of them exhibited the shape fidelity property after freeze‐extraction and chemical imidization. High heat duty is an urgent challenge for industrial applications of amine‐based CO2 capture. The temperature (>110°C) of carbamate breakdown in amine regeneration requires large energy consumption. In this work, we report a novel, stable, efficient, and inexpensive Ni‐HZSM‐5 catalyst to improve the CO2 desorption rate and reduce the heat duty. The impregnation method was applied for varying nickel content in the catalysts from 2.16 to 9.80 wt% in HZSM‐5. The catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscope, X‐ray powder diffraction, N2 adsorption–desorption, inductively coupled plasma‐optical emission spectrometry, ultraviolet‐visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, NH3‐temperature programmed desorption (TPD), Infrared spectroscopy of pyridine adsorption, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The catalytic performance was evaluated by CO2 desorption of rich amine solvent at 90°C. It was found that the introduction of nickel increased the acid sites of catalysts compared with parent HZSM‐5. This phenomenon plays a key role on improving the CO2 desorption rate. The density functional theory (DFT) calculations successfully explain the catalytic performance. The catalytic activity associates with the combined properties of MSA × B/L × Ni2+. The 7.85‐Ni‐HZ catalyst presents an excellent catalytic activity for the CO2 desorption: it increases the amount of desorbed CO2 up to 36%, reduces the relative heat duty by 27.07% with the same reaction time, and possesses high stability during five cyclic tests. A possible catalytic mechanism for the Ni‐HZSM‐5 catalysts through assisting carbamate breakdown and promoting CO2 desorption is proposed based on experimental results and theoretical calculations. Therefore, the results present that the 7.85‐Ni‐HZ catalyst significantly accelerates the protons transfer in CO2 desorption and can potentially apply in industrial CO2 capture. Electronic skins (e‐skins) are a promising design paradigm for health care systems and human–machine interactions. Piezoresistive sensors made with simple structures, high sensitivity, mass production methods, light weight, and comfort for long‐term wearing and physiological signal monitoring remain a challenge and are urgently desirable. Here, a breathable and lightweight all‐nanofiber piezoresistive (ANFP) sensor is presented, which is composed of three layers of electrospun nanofibers (NFs). A specific interpenetrating network of conductive polyvinylpyrrolidone NFs coated by polypyrrole (PVP@PPy) and insulating polyacrylonitrile NFs is constructed by controlling the vapor growth position of PPy to enhance the sensitivity. The ANFP sensor can achieve the real‐time monitoring of multiple parts of physiological signals, and a wireless detection system is designed for the online monitoring of human pulses. The NF network endows excellent breathability and heat dissipation to the ANFP sensors during practical application, which ensures comfort and device stability during long‐term wearing. Finally, a pressure sensing array with 5 × 5 pixels is fabricated to demonstrate the potential applications in spatial pressure detection. In order to establish an accurate kinetic model for the aqueous amine blends, monoethanolamine (MEA), 2‐(ethylamino) ethanol (EAE), and 3‐(diethylamino)‐1‐propanol (3DEA1P) have been chosen as a typical CO2 absorption trisolvents. The reaction kinetics of aqueous amine blends with carbon dioxide have been investigated first combining experiments and molecular simulations. The stopped‐flow technology has been used to obtain the observed reaction rate constant of the overall reactions over the temperature range of 293 to 313 K and at different amine concentrations. A theoretical kinetic model, based on the first‐principles quantum‐mechanical simulations, has been put forward to interpret the reactions between CO2 and the aqueous trisolvent amine blends systems. The proposed model, based on the zwitterion mechanism and the base‐catalyzed mechanism, shows good prediction with an acceptable absolute average deviation (AAD) of 6.32%, and has been found to be satisfactory in determining the kinetics of the involved complicated reactions. Summary: The bats skin microbiota plays an important role in reducing pathogen infection, including the deadly fungal pathogen Pseudogymnoascus destructans, the causative agent of white‐nose syndrome. However, the dynamic of skin bacterial communities response to environmental perturbations remains poorly described. We characterized skin bacterial community over time and space in Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, a species with high resistance to the infection with P. destructans. We collected environmental covariate data to determine what factors influenced changes in community structure. We observed significant temporal and spatial shifts in the skin bacterial community, which was mainly associated with variation in operational taxonomic units. The skin bacterial community differed by the environmental microbial reservoirs and was most influenced by host body condition, bat roosting temperature and geographic distance between sites, but was not influenced by pathogen infection. Furthermore, the skin microbiota was enriched in particular taxa with antifungal abilities, such as Enterococcus, Burkholderia, Flavobacterium, Pseudomonas, Corynebacterium and Rhodococcus. And specific strains of Pseudomonas, Corynebacterium and Rhodococcus even inhibited P. destructans growth. Our findings provide new insights in characterizing the variation in bacterial communities can inform us about the processes of driving community assembly and predict the host's ability to resist or survive pathogen infection. Fluorescein is a traditional organic fluorescent dye that has the disadvantage of agglomeration‐induced fluorescence quenching and photobleaching due to its large hydrophobic conjugate π‐π system, which makes them have limitations in many fields of application. A method of polymer modification is revealed to address this issue. In this study, fluorescein molecules were modified by polycaprolactone (PCL) to obtain PCL grafting fluorescein (PxF), and subsequently assembled with PEG‐PCL to obtain fluorescent nanoparticles (PPxF). PPxF would realize long term cellular fluorescence imaging. PCL polymerization induces self‐assembly, which effectively avoids fluorescence quenching caused by fluorescent molecules aggregation, and at the same time well inhibit the energy transfer with oxygen to improve photostability. This method is a good way to improve the fluorescence properties of fluorescent dyes, to be suitable for all traditional organic fluorescent dyes to greatly improve their fluorescence and hydrophilic properties and enhance their application fields. Summary: White‐nose syndrome, a disease that is caused by the psychrophilic fungus Pseudogymnoascus destructans, has threatened several North America bat species with extinction. Recent studies have shown that East Asian bats are infected with P. destructans but show greatly reduced infections. While several factors have been found to contribute to these reduced infections, the role of specific microbes in limiting P. destructans growth remains unexplored. We isolated three bacterial strains with the ability to inhibit P. destructans, namely, Pseudomonas yamanorum GZD14026, Pseudomonas brenneri XRD11711 and Pseudomonas fragi GZD14479, from bats in China. Pseudomonas yamanorum, with the highest inhibition score, was selected to extract antifungal active substance. Combining mass spectrometry (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy analyses, we identified the active compound inhibiting P. destructans as phenazine‐1‐carboxylic acid (PCA), and the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) was 50.12 μg ml−1. Whole genome sequencing also revealed the existence of PCA biosynthesis gene clusters. Gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS) analysis identified volatile organic compounds. The results indicated that 10 ppm octanoic acid, 100 ppm 3‐tert‐butyl‐4‐hydroxyanisole (isoprenol) and 100 ppm 3‐methyl‐3‐buten‐1‐ol (BHA) inhibited the growth of P. destructans. Self‐rectifying memristor has no need for selector devices, but possesses the one‐way transmission behaviour and multi‐level non‐volatile memory characteristics, which makes it a promising candidate for electronic synapse. In this letter, the authors propose a novel self‐rectifying memristor based on a Pt/Hf0.5Zr0.5O2/TiN structure. The devices show large memory window (104) and high rectifying ratio (104), which can block the sneak current in a passive crossbar array without any additional hardware overhead. Moreover, the devices demonstrate excellent multi‐level states modulation capability, low power consumption, high endurance and long retention. Paulownia is a well‐known, fast‐growing tree genus that is widely planted for commercial cultivation in the warm temperate zone of the North China Plain. Fertilization as a standard practice can efficiently increase wood production and tree yield in those Paulownia plantations, but how different fertilization measures might affect soil microbial activity, microbial biomass and metabolic functioning unclear, especially in the subtropics. To fill this knowledge gap, we initiated long‐term different fertilization experiments from afforestation, using a completely randomized block design consisting of a control, inorganic fertilizer, microelement‐inorganic fertilizer and organic–inorganic compound fertilizer (OIF) treatments in South China's subtropical zone. The results revealed fertilization significantly increased soil enzyme activity and microbial biomass, especially that of urease, invertase, acid phosphatase, as well as the microbial biomass in terms of carbon and nitrogen, all of which increased most significantly in soil under the OIF treatment. The carbon source utilization levels of five carbon substrates under the OIF treatment, namely D‐xylose, glucose‐1‐phosphate, D‐cellobiose, α‐ketobutyric acid and glycogen, were significantly higher than those of the others. From these data, we may reasonably infer that the application of organic fertilizer could offer an effective management practice for use in Paulownia plantations. The five carbon matrices may be the most efficient carbon sources for increasing the abundance of efficient soil microorganisms, improving soil fertility and achieving the sustainable development of Paulownia plantations. Purpose: The influence of myopia and ocular biometry parameters on diabetic retinopathy (DR) needs further clarification. We aimed to investigate the association between ocular biometrical parameters and DR in Chinese people with diabetes mellitus (DM) without any ocular intervention. Methods: This cross‐sectional study recruited type 2 DM patients with no history of ocular treatment in Guangzhou, China. The ocular biometrical parameters were obtained by Lenstar (LS900, Haag‐Streit AG, Koeniz, Switzerland), including corneal diameter, central corneal thickness (CCT), corneal curvature (CC), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT) and axial length (AL). The lens power and axial length‐to‐cornea radius ratio (AL/CR ratio) were calculated. Spherical equivalent (SE) was determined by auto‐refraction after pupil dilation. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to explore the associations of ocular biometry with any DR and vision threatening DR (VTDR). Results: A total of 1838 patients were included in the final analysis, involving 1455 (79.2%) patients without DR and 383(20.8%) patients with DR. After adjusting confounding factors, any DR was independently associated with AL (odds ratio (OR) 0.84 per 1 mm increase, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.74, 0.94) and AL/CR ratio (OR 0.26 per 1 increase, 95%CI: 0.10, 0.70). Similarly, the presence of VTDR was independently related to AL (OR 0.67 per 1 mm increase, 95%CI: 0.54, 0.85) and AL/CR ratio (OR 0.04 per 1 increase, 95%CI: 0.01, 0.25). The lens power may not be significantly correlated with presence of any DR or VTDR. The CC, corneal diameter and refractive status were not significantly correlated with presence of DR or VTDR. Conclusion: Longer AL and higher AL/CR ratio may be protective factors against the occurrence and progression of DR. Further longitudinal studies are warranted to verify if refractive status and AL‐associated parameters contribute to the occurrence and progression of DR in type 2 DM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The spinel NiMn2O4 has been directly grown on 3D nickel foam by combining a simple microwave‐assisted hydrothermal with annealing process at different temperatures (350 °C to 650 °C), which can be used as a binder‐free electrode for high‐performance supercapacitors. The results indicate that the pure NiMn2O4 can be obtained below 550 °C. The as‐prepared NiMn2O4 at 450 °C has the largest specific capacitance of 802 F g−1 at 1 A g−1 and excellent cycle stability (61 % capacity retention after 5000 cycles at 10 A g−1) among all the obtained samples. This outstanding electrochemical performance may be attributed to its relatively large grain size, high specific surface area, and appropriate pore structure. The determination of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) based on electrochemical sensors is highly attractive in the fields of environmental monitoring and biosensing, however development of non‐precious metal‐based electrocatalysts with high performances remains challenging. Here, a new non‐enzymatic H2O2 sensor has been reported by using Fe2P modified N,P co‐doped carbon (Fe2P/NP‐C) materials as sensing materials. Fe2P/NP‐C materials were synthesized by pyrolysis of polydopamine coating Fe‐based coordination polymer nanoparticles, which were obtained by direct mixing FeCl3 and sodium hexametaphosphate at room temperature. The electrochemical tests display that Fe2P/NP‐C‐based non‐enzymatic H2O2 sensor exhibited detection limit of 60 μM and linear range from 0.1 mM to 1 mM, respectively. The spread of African swine fever virus (ASFV) leads to high mortality in domestic pigs, and has caused huge losses in the global pork industry. Therefore, the rapid detection of ASFV is essential for the prevention and control of the epidemic. Herein, a denaturation bubble‐mediated strand exchange amplification (SEA) with colorimetric detection strategy for the rapid detection of ASFV was established and the results were visible with the naked eyes. The entire detection process based on isothermal amplification was performed on a portable metal bath only. And the whole process including rapid extraction and visual detection was finished within 50 min. The limit of detection of this method reached to 104 copies/μl of plasmid containing p72 gene. And the ASFV was successfully detected in eight different tissue and seven types of pig feed which revealed a strong anti‐interference ability in the presence of complex matrix. Through comparing 94 field positive and negative ASFV samples, excellent performance of SEA assay with 92.86% sensitivity and 100% specificity relative to PCR was observed. The developed method could be used for on‐site detection of ASFV with simplicity, rapidity, and visuality, especially suitable for pork industry food safety and ASFV control in resource‐limited areas. Wave power generation has been the object of extensive renewable energy research and development all over the world. Concerning the application of a wave energy converter to the harsh environment of the South China Sea, a study of the shape and internal layout of a pitching float wave energy converter was performed based on the mechanism of the oscillating‐float generator. Research methods based on potential flow theory and the use of ANSYS‐AQWA software were applied to predict the hydrodynamic performance and energy conversion of the pitching float wave energy converter. The influence of the float shape, width, side radius, and centroid position on the hydrodynamic performance of the float was analyzed. The results show that the pitching performance of the spherical‐bottom float was the best among the three basic shapes examined. The width of the float had the greatest impact on the pitching performance of the float, and the effect of the radius of the float on the pitching performance was also significant. The pitching performance of the float was improved with the realization of a larger radius in the pitching direction. The centroid position and rotational inertia also had a great impact on the pitching performance of the float. The crossbar array implementing the weighted sum computation and weight update operation is a promising hardware accelerator for neuromorphic computing. However, the voltage drop caused by the current flowing through the access lines could be aggressive for the resistive crossbar array in a fully parallel fashion. In this study, the authors analysed the impact of the line resistance on the crossbar array based on the SPICE simulation. It implies that the scale of the crossbar array and the ratio of line resistance to resistive random access memory resistance bring great influence on the performance of the crossbar array. Also an scheme of optimisation has been proposed to diminish its influence. Furthermore, considering line resistance, multi‐layer perceptron based on crossbar array has been simulated with SPICE on Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology dataset. Tumour‐induced osteomalacia (TIO) is a very rare paraneoplastic syndrome with bone pain, fractures and muscle weakness, which is mostly caused by phosphaturic mesenchymal tumours (PMTs). Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) has been regarded as a non‐invasive liquid biopsy for many malignant tumours. However, it has not been studied in benign tumours, which prompted us to adopt the targeted next‐generation sequencing approach to compare cfDNAs of 4 TIO patients, four patients with bone metastasis (BM) and 10 healthy controls. The mutational landscapes of cfDNA in TIO and BM groups were similar in the spectrum of allele frequencies and mutation types. Markedly, deleterious missense mutations in FGFR1 and loss‐of‐function mutations in MED12 were found in 3/4 TIO patients but none of BM patients. The gene ontology analysis strongly supported that these mutated genes found in TIOs would play a potential role in PMTs' process. The genetic signatures and corresponding change in expression of FGFR1 and FGF23 were further validated in PMT tissues from a test cohort of another three TIO patients. The Tiaopi Huxin recipe (TPHXR) is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for the clinical treatment of coronary heart disease. However, the mechanism of TPHXR treatment of atherosclerosis (AS) has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we have aimed to explore the potential antiatherosclerotic effect of TPHXR and its underlying mechanisms. Male ApoE knockout (ApoE−/−) mice were fed a high‐fat diet for 12 weeks and were randomly divided into four groups: the control group, and the low‐dose, medium‐dose, and high‐dose TPHXR groups. The nitric oxide (NO) levels in arterial tissue and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were measured by diaminofluorescein‐2 diacetate staining. Vasorelaxation of mice aorta was performed by wire myograph. Inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor‐α (TNF‐α), hs‐CRP, IL‐6, and IL‐1β, in mice plasma were analyzed by enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay. Western blot analysis was applied to observe protein expression. Oil Red O staining was utilized for the quantification of atherosclerotic plaques. Results showed that 4 weeks of high‐ and medium‐dose TPHXR treatment by oral gavage reduced atheromatous lesions in ApoE −/− mice. The high‐ and medium‐dose TPHXR treatment, but not the low‐dose treatment, promoted eNOS phosphorylation, increased NO levels and improved endothelium‐dependent vasorelaxation in ApoE −/− mice. High‐ and medium‐dose TPHXR, but not low‐dose TPHXR, decreased the expression of cav‐1, NF‐κB p50, NF‐κB p65, ICAM1, VCAM‐1, TNF‐α, IL‐6, and IL‐1β in the vasculature of ApoE −/− mice. Enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay analysis indicated that high‐ and medium‐dose TPHXR decreased the levels of TNF‐α, IL‐6, hs‐CRP, and IL‐1β. In conclusion, our findings show that TPHXR improved the endothelial function and reduced atheromatous lesions in ApoE −/− mice. This result may be due to the decreased expression of caveolin‐1 and NF‐κB and, hence, the attenuated inflammatory response in AS mice vasculature. Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) are extensively involved in dynamic signaling processes which require a high association rate and a high dissociation rate for rapid binding/unbinding events and at the same time a sufficient high affinity for specific recognition. Although the coupled folding‐binding processes of IDPs have been extensively studied, it is still impossible to predict whether an unfolded protein is suitable for molecular signaling via coupled folding‐binding. In this work, we studied the interplay between intrinsic folding mechanisms and coupled folding‐binding process for unfolded proteins through molecular dynamics simulations. We first studied the folding process of three representative IDPs with different folded structures, that is, c‐Myb, AF9, and E3 rRNase. We found the folding free energy landscapes of IDPs are downhill or show low barriers. To further study the influence of intrinsic folding mechanism on the binding process, we modulated the folding mechanism of barnase via circular permutation and simulated the coupled folding‐binding process between unfolded barnase permutant and folded barstar. Although folding of barnase was coupled to target binding, the binding kinetics was significantly affected by the intrinsic folding free energy barrier, where reducing the folding free energy barrier enhances binding rate up to two orders of magnitude. This accelerating effect is different from previous results which reflect the effect of structure flexibility on binding kinetics. Our results suggest that coupling the folding of an unfolded protein with no/low folding free energy barrier with its target binding may provide a way to achieve high specificity and rapid binding/unbinding kinetics simultaneously. Nitrogen and phosphorus co‐doped hierarchical micro/mesoporous carbon (N,P‐MMC) was prepared by simple thermal treatment of freeze‐dried okra in the absence of any other additives. The 0.96 wt % of N and 1.47 wt % of P were simultaneously introduced into the graphitic framework of N,P‐MMC, which also possesses hierarchical porous structure with mesopores centered at 3.6 nm and micropores centered at 0.79 nm. Most importantly, N,P‐MMC carbon exhibits excellent catalytic activity for electrocatalytic reduction of H2O2, resulting in a new strategy to construct non‐enzymatic H2O2 sensor. The N,P‐MMC‐based H2O2 sensor displays two linear detection range about 0.1 mM–10 mM (R2=0.9993) and 20 mM–200 mM (R2=0.9989), respectively. The detection limit is estimated to be 6.8 μM at a signal‐to‐noise ratio of 3. The objective of the present work was to find the accurate kinetic models and mechanism for CO2 absorption into tertiary amine solution, aiming at understanding the contribution of the CO2 reaction with H2O, OH−, and tertiary amines on the overall reaction rate. First, the kinetics of CO2 absorption into water instead of a buffer solution were studied using the stopped‐flow technique at 293–313 K, with initial CO2 molar concentration of 1.1–37.3 mM. The experimental first‐order reaction rate constant (k0_CO2) was determined to be about 1000 times larger than the value for CO2 absorption into buffer solution reported in the reference. The k0_CO2 was then correlated by a proposed semiempirical model and a simplified theoretical model, giving the activation energy for CO2 reacting with H2O as fitted by the simplified theoretical model in good agreement with the value of previous research. Also, the pH values and hydroxyl ion concentrations of aqueous Diethylaminoethanol (DEEA) solutions were determined at 293–313 K, with DEEA molar concentration of 0.1–0.4 M and CO2 loading of 0–0.626 mol/mol. In addition, the observed first‐order reaction rate constant (k0_DEEA) of binary DEEA‐H2O solution with DEEA molar concentration of 0.1–0.4 M reacting with CO2 was determined at 293–313 K. It should be pointed out that the kinetic experiments of CO2 absorption into DEEA solution was done with the molar ratio of DEEA to CO2 fixed at 20. The values of k0_DEEA were then fitted and predicted by four models (i.e., termolecular model, base‐catalyzed model, the improved model, and Khalifah model). The results show the improved model and Khalifah model can predict k0_DEEA well with an average absolute relative difference (AARD) <5%. The predicted results indicate that the contribution of OH− to k0_DEEA cannot be ignored for the absorption of CO2 into tertiary amine solutions, and could be responsible for 50–70% of the total absorption reaction rate. Furthermore, the k0 value of CO2 absorption into aqueous triethanolamine and CO2‐loaded DEEA solution were further investigated and comprehensively discussed, suggesting that both pKa and the CO2 solubility affect k0, with pKa having a much more significant effect. © 2018 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 65: 652–661, 2019 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The hydrodynamic performance in terms of pressure drop (▵P) and liquid holdup (hL), and tshe effective mass transfer area (ae) of Sulzer DX structured packing were investigated at 293.15 K and 101.3 kPa. In addition, the flooding velocity (uF) was also calculated based on the experimental results of liquid holdup, and the effective voidage correction factor (ς) was obtained by combining the Billet model and the experimental effective fraction. The liquid volume method and pressure difference from just below to above the column packing approach are used to describe the hydrodynamic performance in a structured packing column. Experimental results showed that the operational conditions in terms of gas flow rate, liquid flow rate, viscosity, and liquid systems strongly affect the hydrodynamic performance. The experimental comparison between the pressure drop profiles in air‐water (polyethylene oxide [PEO]) and MEA‐H2O‐CO2 systems indicated that both the reacting MEA and CO2 partial pressure can enhance the pressure drop value. In addition, the Bain‐Haugen correlation model was developed to predict the flooding velocity data with an acceptable AARD of 8.1%, and a model was also successfully proposed to predict the values of liquid holdup with an AARD of 11.8%, which is lower than 14.7% in Billet model. Furthermore, the effective mass transfer area was found to be increased by increasing both the liquid and gas flow rate by using NaOH‐H2O‐CO2 system.
