The article reports that PixAlert, a Dublin, Ireland start-up company, has claimed to be the first with software that can find pornographic digital pictures no matter how they enter the office computers. The program does not try to monitor pornography's myriad pathways into the workplace. The software analyzes imagers for features the company say are characteristic of pornography. It has the capacity to distinguish foregrounds from background, discerns the edges of individual shapes, picks out faces and bodies, and measures luminosity and texture.
