Information about several papers discussed at the International Conference on Mesoscale Processes in Atmosphere, Ocean and Environmental Systems, held at the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India is presented. Topics included high resolution mesoscale models, special computation techniques, land-ocean-atmosphere processes and satellite observations. The participants included professors, T. Krishnamurti, R. Narsimha, and J.C.R. Hunt.

The article discusses the issues focused upon in the Population Summit held in October 1993 in New Delhi, India. Organized by 15 of the world's scientific academies, this gathering was the first large-scale collaborative activity of its kind. It brought together academicians and other invited scholars representing over 60 scientific academies to examine the relationships between population, natural resources, and the environment. The massive volume that resulted from the summit, covering the invited papers plus some peripheral materials, was published quickly, well in time to serve as background papers for the September 1994 International Conference on Population and Development. The underlying theme in the New Delhi manifesto is the need for internationally coordinated planned action. Improved pricing, taxing and regulatory policies that take into account environmental costs, thereby influencing consumption behavior is an ambitious goal. In sum, to criticize the groping for social improvement is to attack virtue, virtuous people and the greatest offense of all, a reform-minded international bureaucracy.

The article presents several papers presented at the 34th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology (ISBTI) in New Delhi, India from November 20-22, 2009. One paper examines the therapeutic plasma exchange in neuroimmunological disorders. Another paper discusses predonation blood donor referral. One paper discusses the causes of blood donor deferral.

An early version of this article was prepared as a background paper for the Population Summit of the World's Scientific Academies, held in New Delhi during 24-27 October 1993. and was also the basis of the 1993 Sidney Ball Lecture at the University of Oxford, a much-shortened version of which was published in Scientific American (Dasgupta 1995a) These essays, in turn, were based on ideas that were developed in my book, An Inquiry into Well-Being and Destitution (Dasgupta 1993). Here are some information on conferences focusing on the study and practice of econometrics recent as of March 1996. The nominations for fellows to the Econometric Society have been opened to the members of the society. The 1996 Australasian Meetings of the Econometric Society will be held at the University of Western Australia in Perth, Western Australia from July 10 to 12. The next Econometric Society European Meeting will be held at Istanbul, Turkey from August 25 to 29. Proposals for papers to be presented at the meeting are being solicited by the Program Committee. The Asian Meeting of the Econometric Society will be held in New Delhi, India from December 28 to 30, 1996.

The long-heralded U.N.C.T.A.D. II took place in New Delhi's splendid conference hall, Vigyan Bhavan, equipped with every modern facility— simultaneous interpretation in five languages and a daily Journal in three, a vast secretarial staff, and an elaborate documentation service running off the millions of words written and spoken during the conference. The 133 member countries were represented, many at ministerial level, as well as all the specialised agencies and regional commissions of the United Nations, and many other international bodies. The U.N. Secretary-General himself came to inaugurate the conference with his blessing, although—significantly, perhaps—Vietnam negotiations delayed his arrival for a few days. Post kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL) is a neglected complication of visceral leishmaniasis (VL)–a deadly, infectious disease that claims approximately 20,000 to 40,000 lives every year. PKDL is thought to be a reservoir for transmission of VL, thus, adequate control of PKDL plays a key role in the ongoing effort to eliminate VL. Over the past few years, several expert meetings have recommended that a greater focus on PKDL was needed, especially in South Asia. This report summarizes the Post Kala-Azar Dermal Leishmaniasis Consortium Meeting held in New Delhi, India, 27-29 June 2012. The PKDL Consortium is committed to promote and facilitate activities that lead to better understanding of all aspects of PKDL that are needed for improved clinical management and to achieve control of PKDL and VL. Fifty clinicians, scientists, policy makers, and advocates came together to discuss issues relating to PKDL epidemiology, diagnosis, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, treatment, and control. Information about the 35th Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS) Conference held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India on September 6-11, 2007 is presented.
