In this study, pre-service teachers' self-regulated learning skills in online environments were taken into consideration. Preservice teachers could not receive any support with respect to online education during the pandemic process thus they had to improve themselves. In this context, it was investigated whether self-regulated learning skills in online environments predict web-based instruction attitudes in terms of both effectiveness and resistance dimensions. Designed in the context of the quantitative research approach, this study is based on the relational survey model. The research universe is composed of the pre-service teachers studying in the Turkish and English language teaching departments of Northern Cyprus universities during the 2020-2021 academic year. In conclusion, it was found that three of the self-regulated learning skills of the participating pre-service teachers in online environments, i.e. goal setting, task strategies, and help-seeking, predicted the attitudes of the pre-service teachers towards web-based instruction significantly and in the positive direction (Hypothesis 1), whereas only two of the self-regulated learning skills of the participating pre-service teachers in online environments, i.e. goal setting and task strategies, predicted the resistance of the pre-service teachers to web-based instruction significantly and in the negative direction (Hypothesis 2). Objectives:To report the ocular findings, laboratory results, and management of patients with tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis syndrome (TINU), whose numbers increased during the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.Materials and Methods:Demographic characteristics, ophthalmic examination findings, laboratory results including polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), serum SARS-CoV-2 immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody, and treatment of patients diagnosed with TINU between March 2020 and March 2022 were evaluated retrospectively.Results:The study included 19 eyes of 10 patients (6 female/4 male). The mean age was 13.5±2.4 years (range: 8-16 years). The mean follow-up duration was 13.5±6.1 months (range: 6-24 months). All patients presented with anterior uveitis. Anterior uveitis was bilateral in 9 patients (90%) and unilateral in 1 patient (10%). Posterior segment findings were normal in 8 patients (80%), and bilateral optic disc edema was observed in only 2 patients (20%). None of the patients had a previous SARS-CoV-2 infection and/or vaccination history. The SARS-CoV-2 PCR test was negative in all patients at presentation. The SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody test was reactive in 7 patients (70%). Recurrent uveitis developed in 8 patients (80%) during follow-up. Systemic immunomodulatory therapy was required for the control of ocular inflammation in 7 patients (70%) with severe uveitis flare-ups.Conclusion:TINU is a multisystemic autoimmune disease, especially in response to environmental triggering factors such as viral infections. Although TINU is a rare disease, the number of cases increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were detected at a significant rate of 70% in these patients, who did not have a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination. Previous asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection in children may be a triggering factor in the development of TINU.

Abstract We explore the potential of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in detecting a signal originating from the production of a heavy SU(2) R charged gauge boson that then decays into a top-bottom quark pair via the mediation of a right-handed neutrino, pp → W R → N R ℓ → (ℓ ′ tb)ℓ. Such a channel, that we study in the context of the minimal Left-Right Symmetric Model, contrasts with conventional smoking-gun signatures targeted experimentally and phenomenologically in which only light quarks are involved. We propose a selection strategy aimed at extracting such a top-bottom signal and we estimate the resulting sensitivity of the LHC to the model. Our results demonstrate the potential impact of such a search and we therefore urge the experimental collaborations to carry out a similar analysis in the light of present and future data.

Abstract Background Young adults are a diverse group with diverse cares, choices and preferences in accessing and using Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services, they should be at the center of the development of new managed models and solutions for the delivery of SRH services. The purpose of the study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to determine the knowledge and attitudes of young adults about SRH and the barriers for accessing services, and to evaluate the attitudes and needs of young adults to receive SRH services. Methods In this study, the questions of the scale were developed through literature review, focus group interview with 8 people and expert evaluation were made, and a pre-test application was also carried out. Exploratory factor analysis and reliability testing were performed with a sample of 458 young adults. The re-test reliability was performed with 220 participants who were reached one month after the first measurement. Principal component analysis was used to establish the construct validity. The reliability of the scale was assessed using the Cronbach's alpha value. Results A 23-item scale has been developed to identify and evaluate young adults' thoughts, attitudes, and perceived barriers for accessing services regarding SRH. In the exploratory factor analysis conducted to examine the construct validity of SRHSSS, a four-factor structure was obtained that explained 89.45% of the total variance. The factor loadings of the scale items were found to vary between 0.78–0.97. At the same time, the Cronbach's alpha value of the scale is 0.90, indicates a good internal consistency. Conclusions SRHSSS is a scale with sufficient validity and reliability to determine young adults' SRH Service Seeking.

Falx interhemispheric subdural hematoma (FISH) is a rare subtype of subdural hematoma that occurs between the cerebral hemispheres along with falx cerebri. It represents less than 0.5% of all subdural hematomas and is frequently misdiagnosed due to its rarity and nonspecific clinical presentation. We present a case of 59-year-old female with a history of urticaria and hypertension who developed FISH following minor head trauma. The patient experienced presyncope, nausea, dizziness, and headache. A non-contrast computed tomography (CT) scan of the head revealed FISH, and the patient was managed conservatively without surgical intervention. This case report highlights the importance of considering FISH in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with headache, dizziness, and presyncope, particularly in the setting of minor head trauma. We discuss the potential relationship between FISH, urticaria, and hypertension, as well as the possible causes of presyncope in this case, including orthostatic hypotension probably due to vagal nerve stimulation. Indeed, further studies are needed to explore these associations and to better understand the underlying mechanisms.

Academic motivation are claimed to be influencing factors on college students' various outcomes. The aim of this study is to compare the academic motivation and career decidedness of university students based on the variables of gender, year of study, academic achievement and expectations for pursuing graduate education. 376 students at Karatay, Selçuk and Necmettin Erbakan University participated in the study. Academic motivation and career decidedness scales were used to collect the data. The findings showed that the academic motivation and career decidedness of university students differed based on the variables of gender, year of study, academic achievement and expectations for pursing graduate education. In addition, it was found that university students? academic motivation had a positive effect on their career decidedness. Considering the findings of this study, it could be beneficial to pay attention to increasing motivation in university education and to include factors that encourage academic and intrinsic motivation among students.

This study aimed to investigate and compare the perception of TPACK competence of graduate students studying at the institutes of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Educational Sciences based on the variables of gender, graduate program level and field. The participants of the research consist of 186 graduate students studying at the institutes of Karatay, Necmettin Erbakan and Selçuk University. TPACK Competence Scale was used to collect research data. The results of the research showed that graduate students' technological knowledge and TPACK competence were moderate. It was also found that male graduate students' technological knowledge and technological content knowledge were high, whereas female participants had a high-level perception of pedagogical knowledge. In addition, perceptions of TPACK competence varied based on the field and level of graduate education.

There are a number of psycho-social variables that predict the levels of social capital of pre-service teachers. Social capital, which is in connection with almost all of these psycho-social variables, is associated with personality traits in literary studies. This study aimed to investigate the social capital predictive levels of five-factor personality traits. This research is based on survey data and two Likert type scales were used. 470 pre-service teachers studying in different departments of Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Education participated in this research. The relationship between personality traits and social capital components was examined using correlation analysis. The effect of personality traits of the candidates on the perception of social capital was investigated by using structural equation model analysis. It was found that the neuroticism and conscientiousness personality traits of pre-service teachers were not effective on perceptions of social capital. In addition, it was also found that the extraversion, agreeableness and openness to experience personality traits of pre-service teachers have an impact on their perceptions of social capital.

Introduction: A case of ocular bartonellosis under anti-tumour necrosis factor treatment is described. Case description: A 29-year-old woman with psoriasis who had been on certolizumab treatment was examined with a left visual deterioration following a fever bout, malaise, and placoid erythematous rashes on her neck. As there was acute anterior uveitis in her left eye, it was recommended to stop certolizumab treatment for a possible infectious aetiology. However, her physician elected to continue the certolizumab treatment. Ten days later, the patient noticed further visual decline despite the topical steroid treatment. This time, there were scattered yellow-white small retinitis foci at the left posterior pole. Infectious agents were searched and while Bartonella henselae antibodies were negative for immunoglobulin M, the immunoglobulin G titre was 1/80. Clinical findings were improved with the systemic treatment of oral trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (160/800 mg twice daily for six weeks) and azithromycin (500 mg once daily for two weeks). Discussion: Though extremely rare, ocular bartonellosis should be kept in mind in patients on anti-tumour necrosis factor treatment as rapid and accurate diagnosis may end up with an excellent visual outcome and full recovery.

Objective: To report long-term functional and oncological outcomes of OPN Methods: We enrolled 182 patients who underwent consecutive OPN with a diagnosis of kidney tumor in our clinic between April 2002 and February 2020 and were selected from our prospective OPN database. Preoperative demographic and clinical characteristics, intraoperative and pathological results, and patients' postoperative functional and oncological follow-up data were retrospectively analyzed. Overall survival (OS) and disease- free survival (DFS) were evaluated using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis. The time-dependent variation between preoperative and postoperative functional results was statistically analyzed and presented in a graph. Results and limitations: The mean age was 54.4 ± 10.8 yr, and the median age-adjusted Charlson comorbidity index (ACCI) was 1 (interquartile range [IQR] 0-1). The mean tumor size was 3.1 ± 1.2 cm, and the median RENAL score was 6 (IQR 5-8). The most common malign histopathological subtype was clear cell carcinoma with 76.6%, and five cases (3.4%) had positive surgical margins (PSMs). The most common surgical techniques were the retroperitoneal approach (98.9%) and cold ischemia (88.5%). Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) preservation was 92% (80.8-99.3, IQR), which translates to 32% chronic kidney disease (CKD) upstaging. Acute kidney injury (AKI) was detected in 27 (14.8%) patients according to RIFLE criteria. The intraoperative complication rate was 5.5%, and the postoperative overall complication rate (Clavien-Dindo 1-5) was 30.2%. Major complications (Clavien-Dindo 3-5) were observed in 13 (7.1%) patients. The median oncological follow-up was 42 mo (21.3- 84.6, IQR), and the 5- and 10-yr OS were 90.1% and 78.6%, 5 and 10-yr DFS were 99.4% and 92.1%, respectively. No local recurrence was observed in 5 (3.4%) patients with PSMs; only one had distant metastasis in the 8th postoperative month. The retrospective design, the small number of patients who underwent PN based on mandatory indication, and one type of surgical approach may limit the generalizability of our findings. Conclusions: This study confirms excellent long-term oncologic and functional outcomes after OPN in a cohort of patients selected from a single institution. In light of the information provided by the literature and our study, our recommendation is to push the limits of PN under every technically feasible condition in the treatment of kidney tumors to protect the kidney reserve and achieve near-perfect oncological results.

Amaç: Bu araştırmada, COVİD-19 pandemi sürecinde aktif hizmet veren hemşirelerin tükenmişlik düzeylerini belirlemek amaçlandı. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu araştırmanın evrenini, İstanbul'da bir şehir hastanesinde görev yapan hemşireler (N:736), örneklemini ise araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 198 hemşire oluşturdu. Araştırma verileri, Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği ile toplandı, frekans, ortalama, bağımsız gruplarda t testi, tek yönlü ANOVA ve post-hoc testler ile değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Hemşirelerin Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 62,33±12,23, alt boyutlarından duygusal tükenme, duyarsızlaşma ve kişisel başarı ortalamaları sırasıyla 29,49±7,63; 13,02±3,98; 19,82±4,19 olarak belirlendi. Erkek hemşireler ile kıyaslandığında kadınların duygusal tükenme düzeyleri anlamlı olarak daha yüksek bulundu (t=2,125; p=,035). Pandemi kliniklerde çalışan hemşireler ile kıyaslandığında diğer kliniklerde çalışan hemşirelerin kişisel başarı düzeyleri anlamlı olarak yüksekti (t=2,147; p=,033). COVİD-19 tanılı hasta ile temas eden hemşirelerin duygusal tükenme düzeyleri de temas etmeyenlere göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksekti (t=2,040; p=,043). Uygulamada Kullanım: Hemşirelerin tükenmişlik düzeyleri duygusal tükenme, duyarsızlaşma ve kişisel başarı alt boyutlarında yüksek bulundu, cinsiyet, klinik ve enfekte hastayla temas durumuna göre ölçek puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edildi. Artan iş yükü, belirsizliğin hakim oluşu, meslektaşların kaybı, aileden uzak yaşam gibi hususlar yüzünden hemşirelerin tükenmişlik düzeyi yüksektir. Salgının ön saflarında mücadele eden sağlık sisteminin bel kemiği olan hemşirelerin desteklenmesi gerektiği söylenebilir.

Kosovo has historically been the scene of ethnic-driven regional conflicts among the communities. After the disengagement of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) in 1992, the conflicts that had begun with the independence declarations of the Republics of SFRY eventually evolved into ethnic disputes between Serbs and Albanians. As the United Nations (UN) failed to resolve the conflict by diplomatic means, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) initiated an air campaign to stop armed attacks by Serbian Military Forces on the Albanian civil communities. The UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) was established in 1999 to restore peace and stability in Kosovo. One of the mandated tasks of the UNMIK was to establish the local police known as Kosovo Police Service (KPS) and to build its capacity. The objectives of this research are to determine whether the UNMIK was effective and successful in building the KPS’s capacity. A set of new success criteria is developed and applied to evaluate the success of UNMIK in this mandated task. Data for this study were collected using official reports of the UN and the crime statistics of the KPS. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that UNMIK was successful in establishing a local police force.

Objectives:To present the clinical and demographic characteristics, imaging findings, diagnosis and treatment approach in cases of cat scratch disease (CSD) with ocular involvement.Materials and Methods:The records of 19 patients followed-up and treated between 2010 and 2020, including detailed ophthalmological examinations, imaging findings, and treatment approach, were evaluated retrospectively.Results:Twenty-three eyes of 19 patients, 7 female (37%) and 12 male (63%), were included in the study. The mean age was 34.1±13.3 (range: 11-56) years, and the mean follow-up duration was 12.6±18.0 (range: 1-81) months. Unilateral involvement was observed in 15 cases (79%). Cat contact was reported in 14 cases (74%). In 6 cases (32%), flu-like symptoms were present before the ocular complaints. The mean visual acuity (VA) at presentation was 0.42±0.36 (range: 0.001-1.0). Anterior uveitis was observed in 3 eyes (13%). Posterior segment findings included neuroretinitis in 14 (61%), superficial retinal infiltrate(s) in 8 (35%), papillitis in 3 (13%), branch retinal artery occlusion in 2 (8%), and cilioretinal artery occlusion in 1 (4%) of the eyes. All cases were positive for Bartonella henselae immunglobulin (Ig)M and/or IgG. Systemic antibiotic therapy was administered to all patients. Intravenous pulse or oral corticosteroids were given, especially in cases with optic disc involvement. The mean final VA was 0.80±0.25 (range: 0.01-1.0).Conclusion:CSD may present with different ocular involvement patterns. Apart from the classical neuroretinitis and macular star appearance, patients may present with isolated optic disc edema, branch retinal artery occlusion, and retinal infiltrations. In such patients, cat contact history and Bartonella serology should be evaluated to differentiate CSD.

Bu çalışma tütün üretim ve pazarlama kooperatiflerin sayıca fazla kurulduğu Adıyaman-Çelikhan’da yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, tütün üretim ve pazarlama kooperatiflerine üye olan ve üye olmayan üreticilerin sosyo-ekonomik özellikleri, işletme özellikleri ve tütün üretim ve pazarlama kooperatiflerinin geliştirilmesi ve yaygınlaştırılmasına katkıda bulunmak amacıyla, aynı köyde yaşayan kooperatife üye olan ve üye olmayan tütün üretimi yapan toplam 90 üretici oransal örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenmiş ve yüz yüze anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre; kooperatife üye olan üreticilerin; daha fazla sözleşme yaptıkları, daha fazla çiftçi kayıt sistemine dahil oldukları, sarmalık kıyılmış tütün mamullerinden alınan ÖTV oranını daha fazla bildikleri, ortak olma nedenlerinde “ürünleri yüksek fiyata satabilmenin ilk sırada yer aldığı”, kooperatifin en önemli fonksiyonunun ürün alımı olduğunu, kooperatifçilik konusunda eğitime ihtiyaç duydukları, teknik veya hukuki konularda ziraat odasından daha fazla bilgi aldıkları kooperatife üye olmayan üreticilerin ise, başka ürün yetiştirmeyi bilmedikleri için tütün üretimi yaptıklarını, kooperatiflerin daha iyi ve başarılı olması için devletin finansal yardım yapması gerektiğini, kooperatife üye olmak istememelerinin başlıca sebepleri arasında; mevcut kooperatifleri güvenilir olarak bulmadıklarını, başarılı olamayacaklarını belirtip, ancak bu sorunların çözülmesi halinde %83,8’i üye olabileceklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Kooperatif yöneticileri ve üyelerine hak ve yükümlülükleri ile kooperatif ve işletmecilik konularında belli periyodlarla eğitim faaliyetlerinin yürütülmesi kooperatifçiliğin devamlılığını sağlamaya katkı sağlayacaktır.

The Pseudomonas aeruginosa OG1 strain was used in the bacterial synthesis of MgSe compound nanoparticles. The obtained samples were subsequently shaped into nanocrystalline MgSe films, and their optical, structural, morphological, and electrical properties were assessed on glass and p-Si substrates. Structural and morphological characterizations showed that the fabricated thin film samples have a polycrystalline structure with high quality and uniform grain sizes. The MgSe films produced on glass substrates exhibit a direct spectral band gap of 2.53 eV, according to optical measurements. The Ag/MgSe/p-Si layered diode structure was fabricated using the produced MgSe nanoparticles and then characterized by electrical properties. Electrical measurements were carried out under these two conditions to assess the effects of dark and illumination conditions on the band dynamics of the heterostructure devices. Under illumination, the barrier height decreased while the interface density states distribution increased. These measurements showed that using bacterial-assisted grown MgSe nanocrystalline films, the developed Ag/MgSe/p-Si device structure exhibited a remarkable photoresponse and stable rectifying property. Green synthesis methods for the production of these nanocrystalline materials have the potential to offer low-cost alternatives for photosensitive applications.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of intratesticular injection (ITI) of sodium chloride (NaCl) at two different concentrations for supressing reproductive development in goat kids at two months of age. The experiment was carried out at the experimental unit of Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Çine Vocational School, located in Çine, Aydın, Turkey. The experimental groups were control (C, n = 9), a single ITI of 20% NaCl (T1, n = 8) or 40% NaCl (T2, n = 8). The growth, reproductive characteristics, and histological appearance of the testis in the kids were examined up to nine months of age in different periods. The live weights, scrotal circumference, semen and sexual behavior characteristics were not different among groups. The histogical findings were observed in both testes at nine months of age. Greater intensity of destruction was observed in the testes of T1 and T2 kids than that of C kids. High levels of tubular degeneration were detected in testicular tissue samples in T1 and T2 groups. Based on the results, however, it was concluded that neither 20 nor 40% concentrations of NaCl did ensure the castration effect in the goat kids.

Objectives:To evaluate the demographic characteristics, clinical findings, and treatment approach of patients with sympathetic ophthalmia (SO).Materials and Methods:The records of 14 patients with SO between 2000 and 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. The patients’ Snellen best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), detailed ophthalmological examination, optical coherence tomography (OCT), enhanced depth imaging-OCT (EDI-OCT), fundus fluorescein angiography findings, and treatment approaches were recorded.Results:The study included the 14 sympathizing eyes of 14 patients with SO (7 female, 7 male). The mean age was 48.5±15.4 years (range: 28-75), and the mean follow-up duration was 55.1±48.7 months (range: 6-204). Ten patients (71%) had a history of ocular trauma and 4 (29%) had a history of ocular surgery. The time to symptom onset in the sympathizing eye after trauma or ocular surgery ranged from 15 days to 60 years. The most common posterior segment findings were optic disc edema (36%) and exudative retinal detachment (36%). In the acute period, the mean choroidal thickness value on EDI-OCT was 716.5±63.6 μm (range: 635-772) and decreased to 296±81.6 μm (range: 240-415) after treatment. Treatment with high-dose systemic corticosteroid was given to 8 patients (57%), azathioprine (AZA) to 7 (50%), AZA and cyclosporine-A combination to 7 (50%), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha inhibitors to 3 patients (21%). Recurrence was observed in 4 patients (29%) during follow-up. At last follow-up, BCVA values were better than 20/50 in 11 (79%) of the sympathizing eyes. Remission was achieved in 13 patients (93%), but 1 patient (7%) lost her vision due to acute retinal necrosis.Conclusion:SO is a bilateral inflammatory disease that presents with granulomatous panuveitis after ocular trauma or surgery. Favorable functional and anatomical results can be obtained with early diagnosis and initiation of appropriate treatment.

Abstract Background To evaluate clinical results in eyes undergoing phacoemulsification intraocular lens (IOL) implantation due to Fuchs, uveitis (FU) related complicated cataract. Methods Post-surgical outcomes of 56 eyes of 55 FU patients were evaluated retrospectively. Three groups were formed according to the IOL model: hydrophilic SAF6125 (Optima fold) acrylic, hydrophobic SN60AT (Alcon), and hydrophobic AAB00 (Abbott). Postoperative posterior capsular opacification (PCO) development and PCO development time, neodymium number: YAG laser posterior capsulotomy rate, giant cell (GC) deposition on the IOL, and the development time of GC deposits were compared among the groups. All patients were followed postoperatively on the 1st day, 1st week, 2nd and 6th weeks, and then at 3-month intervals. Results The hydrophilic SAF6125 IOL was implanted in 10 eyes, hydrophobic SN60AT in 24 eyes and AAB00 IOL in 22 eyes. The mean postoperative follow-up time was 34.1 ± 30.1 (6-144) months. PCO developed in 7 eyes (70%) in the hydrophilic SAF6125 group, 17 eyes (70.8%) in the hydrophobic SN60AT and 13 eyes (59.1%) in the AAB00 group. There was no statistically significant difference among the three IOL groups in the PCO development, the PCO development time and YAG laser capsulotomy rates (P = 0.674, P = 0.111, and P = 0.507, respectively). The PCO development time was significantly longer in the hydrophobic SN60AT than AAB00 group (P = 0.027). GC deposits were detected in 3 eyes (30%) in the hydrophilic SAF6125 group, 7 eyes (29.1%) in the hydrophobic SN60AT and 3 eyes (13.6%) in the AAB00 group. GC deposition and the development time of GC deposits were similar among the three IOL groups (P = 0.575, P = 0.804). At the final follow-up, BCVA was ≥ 20/40 in 41 eyes (73.2%). Conclusion The GC deposits and PCO development were the most important problems in these eyes with hydrophilic or hydrophobic IOLs despite good visual and postoperative results. New developments are needed in terms of IOL design or content in eyes with FU.

Background: Possible therapeutic benefits of lymphadenectomy (LND) in the treatment of endometrial cancer (EC) remain controversial. The present study was undertaken with the aim of investigating the prognostic role of LND in women with clinically confirmed, low-grade, uterus-confined endometrioid EC exhibiting lymphovascular space invasion. Methods: A bicentric retrospective review was conducted for the identification of cases of EC, treated at two gynecologic oncology departments in Turkey. Subsequently, the data of 1811 patients with EC (non-endometrioid, endometrioid, or mixed histology) who had undergone surgery between 2007 and 2016 were analyzed. After extracting data, 37 patients were defined as the study group, and those 37 cases were matched to 74 control patients who had undergone surgery with systematic LND to compare survival. Kaplan-Meier analysis was applied in the process of interpreting data on survival, and variables predicting patient outcomes were identified using Cox proportional hazards regression. Results: Five-year disease-free survival (DFS) rates were 88.2% versus 81.5% (p = 0.985), while overall survival (OS) rates were 91.0% versus 85.7% (p = 0.814) for the study and control groups, respectively. Advanced ages (hazard ratio (HR): 6.69; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.59–28.09, p = 0.009) and tumors of grade 2 (HR: 3.35; 95% CI: 1.09–10.26, p = 0.034) were found to be independently predictive of decreased OS within the entire cohort. Conclusions: Systematic LND does not have a therapeutic role in the management of low-grade, uterus-confined endometrioid EC with lymphovascular space invasion. There was no difference between the survival outcomes of the two groups considered in this study.

Corticosteroid-induced central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) has been reported to develop in many intraocular inflammatory diseases and usually resolves spontaneously after discontinuation of corticosteroids. Patients without any improvement may require alternative therapies. In this case report, we present the case of a 35-year-old man with Behçet’s disease who had complaints of decreased vision due to CSCR in his left eye while using systemic corticosteroids along with cyclosporine and azathioprine. Half-fluence photodynamic therapy (PDT) was performed because the CSCR did not regress despite discontinuation of systemic corticosteroids. After treatment, his visual acuity increased with complete resolution of the subfoveal fluid. Half-fluence PDT seems to be an effective and safe treatment for patients who develop acute CSCR while under systemic or local corticosteroid therapy for intraocular inflammatory diseases such as Behçet’s uveitis and do not improve despite steroid discontinuation.

Abstract Systemic vasculitides are a large group of heterogeneous diseases characterized by inflammatory destruction of blood vessels targeting diverse organs and tissues including the eye. As the most vascularized layer of the eye, the choroid is expected to be affected in multiple systemic rheumatologic diseases with vascular involvement. While there are plenty of studies investigating retinal vascular involvement, choroidal vascular involvement in systemic vasculitides has not been investigated in isolation. However, choroidal manifestations including thickness changes, choroidal vasculitis and ischemia may be the earliest diagnostic features of systemic vasculitic diseases. Thus, multimodal imaging of the choroid may help early detection of choroidal involvement which may also have prognostic implications in these life-threatening diseases. This article aimed to review involvement of the choroid in systemic vasculitic diseases.

Objective:Residual stone fragments remain a challenging topic for urologists following retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS). This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of second-look flexible ureteroscopy (URS) to achieve a true stone-free status and decrease stone-related events.Materials and Methods:The study included 176 consecutive patients treated with RIRS for kidney stones between October 2013 and December 2017. Patients were divided into two groups. Group 1 included patients who underwent only one session of RIRS (n=51) and group 2 included patients who undergo a second-look flexible URS after RIRS (n=125). Both groups were compared for stone-free rates and potential risk factors associated with stone-related events. Stone-related events were defined as urinary infection, renal colic, stone enlargement, and any additional intervention with shock wave lithotripsy or reoperation.Results:Stone-free rate after RIRS for groups 1 and 2 were 37.25% (n=19/51) and 40.8% (n=51/125), respectively. The stone-free rates improved to 93.6% (n=117/125) in group 2 after the second-look flexible URS. The multivariable analysis revealed that type of intervention, stone size, and body mass index were independent prognostic factors for stone-related events. When group 2 was taken as a reference, the odds ratio for stone-related events was 8.48 (95% confidence interval: 2.95-24.42) in group 1.Conclusion:Second-look flexible ureterorenoscopy increased the stone-free rates and diminished the number of stone-related events. We argue that performing second-look flexible ureterorenoscopy in the early period following RIRS in the presence or suspicion of residual stone fragments provides better treatment results.

Abstract Background The All-on-four dental implant method is an implantology method designed to provide a comfortable prosthetic treatment option by avoiding advanced surgical procedures. This research aims to compare and evaluate the stress and tension values in conventional angled multiunit abutment-implant connection systems and monoblock dental implants used in the all-on-four procedure with finite element analysis. Methods Two master models were created by placing four implants connected to multiunit abutments (group A) in the interforaminal region of a completely edentulous mandible and four monoblock implants (group B) in the same region of another completely edentulous mandible. Group A implants were classified according to their diameter as follows: 3.5 mm (M1A), 4.0 mm (M2A), and 4.5 mm (M3A). Similarly, group B implants were classified as M1B, M2B, and M3B. In the six models rehabilitated with acrylic fixed prostheses, a 100 N force was applied to the anterior implant region, and a 250 N force was applied to the posterior cantilever in both axial and 30° oblique directions. Von Mises stresses were analyzed in the bone and implant regions of all models. Results M1A and M1B, M2A and M2B, and M3A and M3B were compared with each other under axial and oblique forces. The maximum Von Mises stresses in the bone around implants and the prosthesis screws, and the maximum and minimum principal stresses in the cortical and trabecular bone in group A models were significantly higher than those in group B models. Conclusions In monoblock implant systems under axial and oblique forces, higher stress is accumulated in the bone, prosthesis screw and implant compared to multiunit abutment-implant connection systems.

Ever-developing agricultural technologies and progress in communication science increase competition and globalization in converge countries. Agricultural fairs offer ambient to bring producers and input-suppliers of agriculture together at certain places and times. They offer direct and efficient information about new technologies to producers. German Agricultural Society and Leader Farmer Association have jointly organized outdoor fairs in Turkey since 2010. Agriculture Days Fair is one of the most important events among these jointly organized fairs. This study was conducted to determine the reasons for producers’ participation in these fairs held in 2015 and 2017 and to determine the effects of socio-economic characteristics of the producers on their reasons for participation in these fairs. A total of 589 questionnaires were made in this study (250 in May 2015 fair and 339 in August 2017 fair). The same questionnaire forms were used in both years. CHAID analysis technique was employed in analyzing data gathered from the producers. It was observed that producers generally participated in agricultural fairs just for the excursion or spent time with their families at weekends. However, it was also determined that the producers were informed about the agricultural fairs by producer organizations and Leader Farmer Association participated in the fairs to promote a new products or to give information about new technologies and inputs. It can be suggested that beyond informing producers about the fairs, Leader Farmer Association formed within the scope of Leader Farmer Project initiated with the support of German Agricultural Society (DLG) should convey information about how important the fairs are in the acquaintance with introducing new information and technologies.

Abstract For the purpose of cross-fertilising currently separate experimental approaches, we connect results of LHC analyses attempting to access the properties of additional W′ and Z′ bosons from Drell-Yan processes. Under theoretical assumptions linking the two new gauge bosons, we take into account that such possible states of nature are wide enough (in relation to the leptonic mass resolution) for the corresponding signals be significantly affected by interference effects with the background from the Standard Model. The shape of the differential cross section may then no longer be a standard Breit-Wigner distribution, and asymmetry observables would become useful for characterisation (and, possibly, discovery) purposes. Under such conditions we concentrate our analysis on specific widely-studied models: the Sequential Standard Model, a model with an additional SU(2) L gauge symmetry, as well as standard and alternative realisations of the Left-Right Symmetric Model. We show how information gathered in Z′ boson searches in terms of cross section and/or asymmetry distributions can be used to improve W′ boson searches in terms of the LHC sensitivity, and vice versa.

Abstract We attribute deviations of the muon and electron magnetic moments from the theoretical predictions to the presence of an additional U(1)′ supersymmetric model. We interpret the discrepancies between the muon and electron anomalous magnetic moments to be due to the presence of non-universal U(1)′ charges. In a minimally extended model, we show that requiring both deviations to be satisfied imposes constraints on the spectrum of the model, in particular on dark matter candidates and slepton masses and ordering. Choosing three benchmarks with distinct dark matter features, we study implications of the model at colliders, concentrating on variables that can distinguish our non-universal scenario from other U(1)′ implementations.

Gereç ve Yöntem: ‘All-on-4 dental implant’ anahtar kelimeleriyle yapılan YouTube™ video taramasında ilk 150 video izlenerek değerlendirmeye alındı. Analiz kriterlerine uymayan 70 video değerlendirme dışı bırakılarak geriye kalan 80 videonun analizi yapıldı. Background/Aim: Bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) was first introduced in 2003 and its scope was expanded by the name medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ), since 2014. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of photodynamic therapy (FDT) on tissue samples by histopathological and histomorphometric examination and serum TRACP-5b (Tartrateresistant acid phosphatase-5b) measurement in rats.

The aim of this study was to comparison of physical fitness and respiratory parameters of wrestlers and judokas. A total of 24 athletes in the 19-21 age range, 12 male wrestlers and 12 male judoists were volunteers. Physical fitness parameters for subjects; age, body weight, height, body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage (BF%), hand grip strength, 20 m sprint tests, maxVO2, vertical jump, as respiratory parameters, forced expiratory volume (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiration ratio (FEV1/FVC), maximum voluntary volume (MVV) and vital capacity (VC) test measurements were performed. Independent Samples T test was used to analyze the data. In the physical fitness parameters of the groups; Age, body weight, height, BMI, BF%, 20 m sprint test, maxVO2 and vertical jumping values were not significant. The right and left hand grip strength values were found to be significant in favor of wrestlers. FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, MVV and VC values were not significantly different between the groups. As a result; as the technical structure and performance components of wrestling and judo branches show similar characteristics, it can be said that wrestlers and judoists have similar characteristics in terms of physical fitness and respiratory parameters.

A 9-year-old otherwise healthy boy was examined due to a 4-day history of visual decline in his right eye. Ophthalmological examination revealed an area of active retinochoroiditis in the right macula. Indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) demonstrated multiple hypocyanescent dots surrounding the active lesion extending 360 degrees towards the equator. Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) exhibited dark dots on the choriocapillaris slab over areas corresponding to the hypocyanescent dots detected with ICGA. Full systemic examination and laboratory investigations were carried out. Toxoplasma gondii serology was positive. The diagnosis of toxoplasmic chorioretinitis with white dot-like choroidal involvement was made. Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, azithromycin, and oral prednisolone were administered orally. On repeated ICGA 2 weeks later, the scattered hypocyanescent dots were significantly fewer in number. A month later, right visual acuity was improved, the macular chorioretinitis focus had become inactive, an epiretinal membrane had formed, and the dark dots on the choriocapillaris slab of OCTA were markedly diminished. ICGA may be helpful to observe possible, subtle choroidal involvement in patients with toxoplasmic chorioretinitis.

In this study, the change of farmer behaviour, which is thought to change slowly, over a 30 period, was evaluated in terms of information sources. In the study, the change in farmer attitudes with a longitudinal approach was designed in a process, and the data obtained from the same farmers and the same questionnaire forms were changed over time. A survey conducted in 1989 was repeated in the same region, in the same survey forms and in the same sample group (66 farmers) in 2019. In the analysis phase of the data obtained from the surveys, Multiple Compliance Analysis Technique was used. In the Polatlı District of Ankara Province, the long-term approach of 66 farmers, especially the changes in information sources and the non-logging habits of their businesses, has been determined with a longitudinal approach. The research results revealed that urban people have become close to rural areas and agriculture, and that their farmers have become close to district and provincial centres. As in all economic activities, research results support that the same jobs in agriculture for the long time do not have the opportunity to do the same and to be content with the knowledge left from the ancestor. This result is the most concrete indication that knowledge-based agriculture has become inevitable in every respect.

Behçet’s disease is a chronic, multisystem inflammatory disorder characterized by relapsing inflammation. Although its etiopathogenesis has not yet been clarified, both the adaptive and innate immune systems, genetic predisposition, and environmental factors have all been implicated. It is more frequent and more severe in males in the third and fourth decades of life. The eye is the most frequently involved organ in the course of the disease. Ocular involvement (Behçet’s uveitis) is characterized by bilateral recurrent non-granulomatous panuveitis and occlusive retinal vasculitis. Recurrent inflammatory episodes in the posterior segment may lead to permanent vision loss due to irreversible retinal damage and complications such as macular scarring, macular atrophy, and optic atrophy. Early and aggressive immunomodulatory treatment and the use of biologic agents when needed are crucial for preventing recurrences and improving visual prognosis.

Abstract We test E 6 realisations of a generic U(1)′ extended Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (UMSSM), parametrised in terms of the mixing angle pertaining to the new U(1)′ sector, θ E 6 $$ {\theta}_{E_6} $$ , against all currently available data, from space to ground experiments, from low to high energies. We find that experimental constraints are very restrictive and indicate that large gauge kinetic mixing and θ E 6 $$ {\theta}_{E_6} $$ ≈ −π/3 are required within this theoretical construct to achieve compliance with current data. The consequences are twofold. On the one hand, large gauge kinetic mixing implies that the Z′ boson emerging from the breaking of the additional U(1)′ symmetry is rather wide since it decays mainly into WW pairs. On the other hand, the preferred θ E 6 $$ {\theta}_{E_6} $$ value calls for a rather specific E 6 breaking pattern different from those commonly studied. We finally delineate potential signatures of the emerging UMSSM scenario in both Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and in Dark Matter (DM) experiments.

Abstract We perform a consistent analysis of the alternative left-right symmetric model emerging from E 6 grand unification. We include a large set of theoretical and experimental constraints, with a particular emphasis on dark matter observables and collider signals. We show that the exotic neutrino inherent to this class of models, the scotino, is a viable candidate for dark matter satisfying relic density and direct detection constraints. This has strong implications on the scotino mass restricting it to lie in a narrow window, as well as on the spectrum of Higgs bosons, rendering it predictable, with a few light scalar, pseudoscalar and charged states. Moreover, we also show that the extra charged W′ gauge boson can be light, and investigate the most promising signals at the future high-luminosity upgrade of the LHC. Our findings show that the most optimistic cosmologically-favoured scenarios should be observable at 5σ, whilst others could leave visible hints provided the background is under good control at the systematical level.

Background/Aim: A factor affecting the success rate of dental implants, which has been used successfully for many years, is the implant-abutment connection system. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stress distribution of different implant-abutment connection systems under different forces.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has been affecting the daily lives of almost everyone and puts huge psychological pressure on people worldwide, including Turkey. Anxiety and stress levels among university students were already a public health concern. Our study aims to demonstrate the anxiety and stress levels of university students in Turkey after the outbreak of COVID-19 according to the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale (CAS) and COVID Stress Scale (CSS). CAS is a brief mental health screener to identify probable cases of dysfunctional anxiety associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, and CSS was developed to understand and assess COVID-19-related distress. An online questionnaire was administered to active 1,265 university students in Turkey between February 27 and March 8, 2021, via Google forms. The questionnaire consists of three parts that assess participants' demographic information, anxiety, and stress levels related to the pandemic. According to CAS and CSS analysis, anxiety and stress levels were associated with each other and influenced university students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both were associated with gender and family member loss. The academic year of students had a relationship with anxiety. It was observed that the danger factor was the highest stressor in university students in Turkey related to the novel coronavirus, followed by contamination fears. Both factors were shown as moderate stressors. As a result of the study, it was revealed that anxiety and stress associated with the COVID-19 pandemic are now included in the social, academic, and physical burdens of the university years, which are decisive and important in terms of mental development and psychological health of the person. It is essential to ascertain the long-term effects of COVID-19 and take effective precautions to support the physical and mental health of today's university students accordingly.

Purpose Urban design guidelines (UDGs) provide comprehensive documents that lead to sustainable implementations in the local context. The aim and content of a UDG can differ according to the vision, aim, and associated urban plans. The most common UDG approaches in the world are prescriptive, advisory, and performance-based in order of their appearance in time. The UDGs have been applied in the United States and the United Kingdom since the beginning of the 20th century with the ultimate goal of architectural coherence a nd environmental sustainability. However, their use is relatively very recent in developing countries, including Turkey. Therefore, this study aims to investigate three common types of UDGs in the context of Turkey and provide a deeper understanding their role in achieving urban sustainability from a country-specific perspective. Design/Methodology/Approach Seven UDGs have been found that provides a complete process and an extensive content. Three examples, Izmir Kemeraltı Prescriptive UDG, Rize Advisory UDG, and Gaziantep Bizimşehir Performance-based UDG met the selection criteria of comprehensive content, data accessibility, complete process, and comparability and examined in detail. The examples were evaluated and compared according to their integration into the urban planning system and evaluated based on aggregated sustainability criteria. Sustainability criteria set aggregated based on three sustainability frameworks - European Green City Tool, Urban Sustainability Indicators, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) – applicable to Turkey. Two out of seven UDG examples from Turkey and 11 out of 23 sustainability frameworks from the World could not be investigated further as a result of inaccessible data. Findings As a result, Gaziantep Bizimsehir Performance-based UDG achieved the highest score in the overall criteria aggregated from existing and common frameworks in the world. Research Limitations/Implications It is important to validate the findings by an evaluation of locally defined sustainability criteria for Turkey. However, there is a lack of well-defined publicly available data. Originality/Value The results provided the first comprehensive evaluation of three common types of UDGs in the Turkish context. This study presents a detailed framework for future applications not only in Turkey but also in other regions with the similar context.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to examine the effect of nutrients and medicines frequently consumed by children on the surface roughness of the Polyacid-Modified Composite Resin (compomer), a restorative material typically used in pediatric dentistry. Materials and Methods: VOCO Glasiosite® Caps compomer was used as the restoration material. Seven control groups consisting of nutrients and medicines frequently consumed by children from 0-6 years (Group 1: Ferro Sanol® B (150 ml) syrup, Group 2: Augmentin®-BID (400 mg/57 mg) suspension, Group 3: Calpol® (120 mg/150 ml ), Group 4: Bebelac® Gold 5 follow-on milk, Group 5: Danino® strawberry yogurt, Group 6: Nesquik® chocolate milk, Group 7: Cappy® orange juice) were formed and their pH values were measured. Compomer discs were created and their initial surface roughness was measured by Bruker® Stylus Profilometer. Taking into consideration its annual usage period, compomer material was brought in contact with solutions. Then the roughness test was repeated. SEM images of each compomer material were taken and compared with the control group. Results: The evaluation of the medicine group revealed that Ferro Sanol® B displays the highest level of surface roughness difference (23.3 nm). As to the nutrients group, Cappy® orange juice showed the highest surface roughness difference (21.4 nm). SEM images support these findings. Conclusions: The effect of the solutions on the surface roughness of filling surfaces increases depending on their acidity. However, it is believed that pH solely does not have any impact. These studies should be supported by corrosion experiments.
