This research aims to analyze the role of the Regional Supervisory Council in enforcing the Law on Notary Positions in East Lombok Regency, the form of supervision carried out by the Regional Supervisory Council (MPD) on Notaries in the East Lombok area. This research is empirical juridical legal research, namely legal research regarding the application and implementation of legal provisions that apply to the conditions in society. The results of the study show that the supervision carried out by the MPD for notaries in East Lombok Regency is providing seminars on notarialism, holding meetings once a month, which the MPD and notaries attend to evaluate the performance of fellow notaries in East Lombok district and make visits at least once a year to check notary protocols. The law on the Position of Notaries (UUJN) is a guideline for notaries in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. If a notary commits a violation, the MPD will report it to the MPW (Regional Supervisory Council) and be given sanctions.

Objective Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) prognosis is enhanced with intensive remission induction chemotherapy (ICT) in eligible patients. However, ICT eligibility perceptions may differ among healthcare professionals. This nationwide, population-based study aimed to explore regional variation in ICT application and its relation with overall survival (OS).Methods and analysis We compared nine Dutch regional networks using data from the Netherlands Cancer Registry. Regional variance was assessed for the entire population and age subgroups (ie, ≤60 years and >60 years) using multivariable mixed effects logistic and Cox proportional hazard regression analyses, expressed via median OR (MOR) and median HR (MHR).Results Including all adult AML patients from 2014 to 2018 (N=4060 patients; 58% males; median age, 70 years), 1761 (43%) received ICT. ICT application varied from 36% to 57% (MOR 1.36 (95% CI 1.11 to 1.58)) across regions, with minor variations for patients aged ≤60 years (MOR 1.16 (95% CI 1.00 to 1.40)) and more extensive differences for those aged >60 years (MOR 1.43 (95% CI 1.16 to 1.63)). Median OS spanned 4.9–8.4 months across regions (MHR 1.11 (95% CI 1.00 to 1.15)), with pronounced differences in older patients (MHR 1.12 (95% CI 1.08 to 1.20)) but negligible differences in the younger group (MHR 1.02 (95% CI 1.00 to 1.14)). Survival differences for the total population and the older patients decreased to respectively, MHR 1.09 (95% CI 1.00 to 1.13) and 1.10 (95% CI 1.04 to 1.18), after additional adjustment for the probability of receiving ICT within a region, indicating approximately 10% unexplained differences.Conclusion Regional disparities in ICT application and survival exist, especially in older AML patients. However, ICT application differences partially explain survival disparities, indicating the need for more standardised ICT eligibility criteria and a better understanding of underlying causes of outcome disparities.

Sex identification of Sun Conures (Aratinga solstitialis) is crucial for breeding and preservation, as well as increasing sun conure populations. These birds are sexually monomorphic. Therefore, Determination between male and female carried out by their morphology examination. The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method, utilizing molecular-based technology, was employed to determine the sex of Aratinga solstitialis in this study. The P2 and P8 primers were utilized in this method, which has been deemed suitable and accurate for sex identification through calamus samples. The research focused on two 28-month-old Aratinga solstitialis birds. Calamus samples were collected and subjected to PCR amplification using the extracted calamus. The resulting PCR products were then visualized using electrophoresis with a 1% agarose gel. In the electrophoresis photo, the presence of two bands indicated a female specimen, whereas a single band indicated a male specimen. The result of the gel electrophoresis research showed that both of the Aratinga solstitialis were male with one band of each bird on ranged from 300-400 base pairs. The result show that the Polymerase Chain Reaction method in terms for sex identification on monomorphic birds, especially Aratinga solstitialis birds is very effective to differentiate the sex of young birds and the adults.

Abstract The water–cement/binder ratio and the admixture of water-reducing agents strongly affect the rheological properties of cement pastes. This study develops mathematical models to predict the apparent viscosity of cement pastes with varying water-cement/binder ratios and polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer content by introducing the power law shear stress-shear strain relation of non-Newtonian fluids into the Navier–Stokes motion equations. The developed models are compared with the results of rheological experiments and verified for their accuracy in simulating the apparent viscosity of cement pastes. These models provide insight into the rheological behaviour of cement pastes and could have practical applications in the construction industry.

Background: The protozoan Toxoplasma gondii is the source of the zoonosis Toxoplasmosis. and causes public health problems throughout the world. Environmental contamination by oocysts excreted by cats as definitive hosts affects the spread of this disease. Wild rats as rodents can be used as an indicator of environmental contamination by oocysts, considering that rats have a habit of living in dirty environments and can be infected by oocysts from the environment. Aim: This study aims to detection of toxoplasmosis from tissue cysts and serological test in wild rats as an indicator of environmental contamination in Surabaya. Methods: A total of 100 wild rats collected from Surabaya were collected in five areas (west, east, central, north, and south Surabaya) obtained from three trapping locations: housing, dense settlements, and markets. All samples were examined microscopically for parasitological tests through the brain tissue samples, and the serum was examined using the ToMAT (Toxoplasma Modified Agglutination Test) to detect the presence of Ig G and Ig M. Results: The results showed that the seroprevalence of T. gondii in wild rats was 31% (30% for Ig G and 1% for Ig M). Tissue cysts in the rat brain samples tested were 19% (19/100).Ig G prevalence rate in female rats was 25% (8/32) while for males it was 32.3% (22/68). The highest seropositive Ig G from densely populated settlements was 50%, markets were 25.8%, and housing was 12.1%. The highest seropositive Ig M from densely populated settlements was 2.8%. Population density and the presence of cats are factors supporting the high seropositive rate at the trapping location. Conclusion: This study revealed that there has been Toxoplasmosis contamination in Surabaya with evidance of 31% in serology and active infection with 19% tissue cyst. It is necessery for controling with survailance in cats to prevent transmission in humans. [Open Vet J 2023; 13(11.000): 1443-1450]

This study investigates the effects of carbon nanomaterials (CN), specifically nanohorns (CNHs) and nanotubes (MWCNTs), on geopolymer carbon nanocomposites (GCN). The research investigates 0.2%, 0.5% and 1.0% of CN and two curing conditions to understand their impact on the microstructure, morphology, and performance of GCN. Analytical techniques such as MIP, TGA-DTA, FTIR, Raman, SEM, and EDX are utilized to analyze the nanoadditives in alkali-silicate suspensions, fresh and hardened GCN. Ultrasonication is important for achieving better dispersion of MWCNTs, while CNH disperses more easily. Both MWCNTs and CNHs enhance flexural strength by up to around 58% and 44%, respectively, and reduce crack formation compared to the pristine geopolymer. Hydrothermal curing, despite leading to higher porosity, improves flexural strength due to increased geopolymerisation. The formation of a cross-polymerized network with oxo bonds and the release of water during the process contribute to increased strength and porosity, respectively.

In the pursue of environmentally-friendly binders for the construction industry, metakaolin (MK) has emerged as promising material, with its hardening performance primarily driven by pozzolanic reactions. However, in systems containing MK and calcium hydroxide (CH), transformation reactions from metastable to stable phases, particularly in excessive CH conditions, can adversely affect material properties. To anticipate these processes, this study introduces a stoichiometry-based reaction modeling approach for pozzolanic MK reactions, encompassing both short-term kinetics and long-term transformation processes. The primary pozzolanic reactions of MK are briefly outlined, highlighting two sequential, partially overlapping reactions forming C4AH13 and C2ASH8. Short-term reaction kinetics are modeled using isothermal calorimetry measurements and deconvoluting the two reaction peaks. The model is in good agreement with experimental quantitative X–ray diffraction (qXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and helium pycnometer (density, i.e. solid volume) results. Model limitations are discussed based on qualitative scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDX) analysis. Leveraging the proposed model, the temperature dependency of pozzolanic MK reactions is analyzed, revealing an activation energy for the primary reaction of 84 kJ/mol. The model is intended to lay a foundation for designing innovative binder systems based on metakaolin, while paving the way for sustainable construction in the future.

Religious fundamentalism continues to be an enormous concern in the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy since the atrocity involved numerous extremist groups, including religious fundamentalist ones. This horrible tragedy has brought in all citizens of the globe mindful of the existential threat of these organizations. Their existence sparks an immense discourse in various fields, including in the academic field that centres around the query of ‘what drives them to act mercilessly and inhumanely.’ Aside from political matters, their extremism is shaped by their method of approach to the doctrines or dogmas, teachings, ideologies, and religious traditions of faith they espouse. The methodology used by fundamentalists in approaching their religious texts and traditions is one of the major issues confronting religious fundamentalism. That methodology refers to the authoritative method, which entails two notable inquiries. Why do fundamentalists consider their religious doctrines or dogmas to be infallible or unquestionable? Why do they presume that all other knowledge and values are subordinate to their religious texts? This philosophical analysis seeks to investigate and evaluate the flaws of the authoritative method within fundamentalism by contrasting it with the Deweyan experimental or scientific method and bridging the two methods with the ‘reflective method’ the author postulates.

Background and Aim: Various methods can detect foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in cows, but they necessitate resources, time, costs, laboratory facilities, and specific clinical specimen submission, often leading to FMD virus (FMDV) diagnosis delays. The 2022 FMD outbreak in East Java, Indonesia, highlighted the need for an easy, inexpensive, rapid, and accurate detection approach. This study aims to devise a one-step reverse transcriptase loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) technique and phylogenetic analysis to detect the serotype O FMDV outbreak in East Java. Materials and Methods: Swab samples were collected from the foot vesicles, nasal secretions, and saliva of five suspected FMDV-infected cows in East Java between June and July 2022. The RT-LAMP design used hydroxy naphthol blue dye or SYBR Green I dye, with confirmatory analysis through reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) targeting 249 base pairs. PCR products underwent purification, sequencing, and nucleotide alignment, followed by phylogenetic analysis. Results: The RT-LAMP method using hydroxy naphthol blue dye displayed a positive reaction through a color shift from purple to blue in the tube. Naked-eye observation in standard light or ultraviolet (UV) light at 365 nm, with SYBR Green I stain, also revealed color change. Specifically, using SYBR Green I dye, UV light at 365 nm revealed a color shift from yellow to green, signifying a positive reaction. Nucleotide alignment revealed mutations and deletion at the 15th sequence in the JT-INDO-K3 isolate from the East Java FMDV outbreak. Despite differing branches, the phylogenetic tree placed it in the same cluster as serotype O FMDV from Malaysia and Mongolia. Conclusion: JT-INDO-K3 exhibited distinctions from Indonesian serotype O FMDV isolates and those documented in GenBank. Then, the RT-LAMP method used in this study has a detection limit 10 times higher latter than the conventional RT-PCR limit, without any cross-reactivity among strains.

AbstractFundamentals alone are insufficient to explain why companies adopt a particular dividend policy. Dividend policy can also be seen from a behavioral perspective because companies serve investors who strongly prefer stocks that pay dividends, hereinafter referred to as dividend catering theory. This study employs a quantitative research design to investigate the theory of dividend catering in six ASEAN countries from 2012 to 2021. The research utilizes a dynamic panel regression approach with a Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimation system, drawing data from the Thomson Reuters database and The World Bank. This research produced several findings. First, we show essential differences in the dividend policies of companies across countries. Second, we find that low (high) sentiment tends to high (low) catering incentives, so companies decide to pay (not pay) dividends. Third, companies based in common-law countries exhibit a strengthened relationship between catering incentives and the likelihood of dividend payments. Our findings explain the factors that contribute to the increase and decrease of the catering dividend in the ASEAN region and contribute to the decision-making of a company’s dividend payout by considering investor sentiment, which will ultimately increase firms’ value.

This study presents an early-stage design exploration of NRG-Foam, an innovative insulation material composed of cementitious foam doped with microencapsulated phase change materials (MPCMs). The study comprises the static part that utilizes life cycle assessment and life cycle costing assessment for getting insight into the impacts of the NRG-Foam production process and the dynamic part that identifies the trade-offs between performance characteristics of NRG-Foam using multi-objective optimization. The production of MPCMs was found to be a major contributor to environmental impacts while the addition of small amounts of reduced graphene oxide amplifies the impacts even further. The hot spot analysis pinpointed high electricity consumption as the main driver of environmental impacts. A multi-objective optimization analysis revealed trade-offs between performance characteristics, emphasizing the necessity of compromises during material development. The selection of the MPCM type was shown to be determinative of the final properties of NRG-Foam.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a common endocrine disease in domestic cats. Breed, sex, being overweight to an extent of obesity are predisposing factors for developing T2DM. One of the most common laboratory analyses conducted to confirm this disease is blood glucose concentrations. The aim of this research is to determine blood glucose concentration in domestic cats based on BCS, breed, and sex using a portable blood glucose meter. Research samples were obtained by taking blood samples from the marginal ear vein of 131 domestic cats that matched the sample’s criteria, took at 2-hours post prandial, and drip onto the Sinocare strip. The results showed that the average blood glucose concentration was in the normal range, with a total of ideal (BCS ≥3/5) domestic cats (n=43) was 75.74 mg/dL, overweight (BCS ≥4/5) domestic cats (n=44) was 78.23 mg/dL, obese (BCS ≥5/5) domestic cats (n=44) was 89.66 mg/dL, male (n=51) was 80.57 mg/dL, female (n=80) was 81.69 mg/dL, Mixed Breed (n= 119) was 81.03 mg/dL, Angora (n=5) was 84.20 mg/dL, Persian (n=6) was 81.50 mg/dL and Ragdoll (n=1) was 92 mg/dL. Pearson correlation showed BCS (r=0.403; p= 0.000) had a moderate, positive, and significant correlation with blood glucose concentration in domestic cats. Meanwhile, the results of Kendall’s Tau correlation showed that breed (p=0.740) and sex (p=0.555) had insignificant correlation with blood glucose concentration in domestic cats.

AbstractIntegration of gold nanoparticles onto electrochemical biosensor electrodes has been widely conducted to improve the performance of biosensors. Gold nanospikes (AuNS), as one of the gold nanoparticle morphologies, can be integrated into biosensors through electrodeposition and has the potential to immobilize bioreceptor on biosensors using the self-assembled monolayer (SAM) method. This paper examines the potential of AuNS-deposited Screen-Printed Carbon Electrodes (SPCEs) on immobilizing enzymes as label-based electrochemical biosensor by evaluating the optimum parameter for glucose oxidase (GOx) enzyme immobilization on the SPCE that consists of incubation time and concentration of SAM molecule—L-cysteine—and GOx enzyme, then reviews its performances. The developed biosensor exhibits excellent performance in detecting glucose (linear range of 0.2–15 mM and limit of detection (LOD) of 116 µM), with good selectivity against uric acid, urea, ascorbic acid, dopamine, and lactic acid, and superiority towards gold nanosphere modified biosensor.

This study analyses a notary's primary authority and responsibilities in making a deed and the legal consequences of a circularly signed notary deed. This normative legal research examines primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials. Legal materials are collected by document study and analyzed normatively and prescriptively. From the results of the investigation, it is known that the essential authority and responsibility of a notary are based on attribution authority through the Notary Office Law, specifically, Article 15, paragraph 1, that a notary authorized to do authentic deeds regarding all actions, agreements, and provisions required by laws and regulations. The notary has civil, criminal and administrative responsibilities based on this authority. Arrangements for signing the deed are regulated in Article 16, paragraph 1-m, in conjunction with Article 44, paragraph 1 of the Notary Office Law, that the signing is carried out immediately after the notary reads the deed to the parties. Based on the research results, it cannot be denied that the parties often do not appear before the notary to sign the deed simultaneously for various reasons. This resulted in the degradation of the authenticity of the act from an authentic deed to a private deed by the contents of Article 16, paragraph 9, in conjunction with Article 44, paragraph 5, Notary Office Law. The process of formalizing an act determines its authenticity, so violations of these provisions are included in defining defects in form because they do not fulfil the formal aspects of doing a deed.

Strongylids are a group of worms that infect the digestive tract of horses consisting of Strongylus vulgaris, Strongylus equinus, Strongylus edentates and Cyathostomes. There is no reported prevalence data on Strongylids infection in horses in East Java. Study on Strongylids is urgently needed because this worm is one of the causes of zoonotic diseases. This study aimed to identify Strongylids that infect horses morphologically. Identification of Strongylids in this study using morphological methods. A total of 65 horse faeces in East Java, i.e. in the cities of Surabaya, Malang, Kediri and Pasuruan were examined microscopically after being fixed in 10% formalin. Three microscopically positive samples showed a prevalence of 4,6% with an average size of 60-70µm x 50-60µm and larvae developed inside the worm eggs.

Fundamentalism has been widely reckoned as one among many other watchful social phenomena currently. There are two general approaches to it. The first is from those who perceive fundamentalism as a movement of militant piety found almost in any religion, and therefore fundamentalism cannot necessarily be identified with a violent movement. The second is from those who categorize fundamentalism as a political movement with an objective of worldly power, and therefore it is susceptible to turning into a violent movement. In investigating the two views closely, I attempt to put forward a couple of hypothetical inquiries. Is fundamentalism a common phenomenon and common feature found in almost any religion? The answer is yes. Is fundamentalism identical to violent movement? The answer is no. Is fundamentalism then impossibly and utterly unrelated to violent movements? The answer is no. If fundamentalism is unidentical with violent movements but not a few fundamentalists can also turn to be perpetrators of what is called religious violence or violence in the name of religion, then what arguments can be set forth to ensure that fundamentalism cannot be overlooked anymore as one among many other major social problems of our age? This article aims to examine fundamentalism through epistemological and axiological criticism, and to investigate that to a certain range fundamentalism is a form of religious cognitive and behavioral bias, and both as a militant piety and as a political movement fundamentalism should at best be approached from their interplayed relation.

Abstract The longevity of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has improved progressively over the past decades, making it essential to understand long-term health outcomes, such as second primary malignancies (SPMs). Therefore, this nationwide, population-based study assessed the risk of SPM development in CLL patients diagnosed during 1989-2019 in the Netherlands compared to the expected number of malignancies in an age-, sex-, and period-matched group from the general Dutch population. In 24,815 CLL patients followed for 162,698.49 person-years, 4369 SPMs were diagnosed with a standardized incidence ratio (SIR) of 1.63 (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.59–1.68). This elevated risk was observed for solid (SIR, 1.67; 95% CI, 1.65–1.75) and hematological SPMs (SIR 1.42; 95% CI, 1.24–1.62). The highest risk for SPMs was noted beyond five years post-diagnosis (SIR, 1.70; 95% CI, 1.62–1.77), for male individuals (SIR, 1.70; 95% CI, 1.64–1.77), and patients aged 18–69 years (SIR, 1.92; 95% CI, 1.79–2.05). The risk of SPMs was higher in CLL patients who received anti-neoplastic therapy (SIR, 2.12; 95% CI, 1.96–2.28), as compared with those who did not (SIR, 1.58; 95% CI, 1.53–1.63). Routine surveillance activities and tailored interventions to counteract the increased morbidity and excess mortality associated with SPMs are essential for improving long-term outcomes in CLL patients.

Background and Aim: Questions about the origin of coronavirus and its introduction to human beings have persisted. The detection of a variety of coronavirus related to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in bats and pangolins led to the widespread belief that SARS-CoV-2 originated from wild animals and was introduced to humans through an intermediate animal. Thus, coronaviruses from animals, especially those in close contact with humans, have attracted particular attention. This study aimed to phylogenetically analyze feline enteric coronavirus (FECV), feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV), and SARS-CoV-2 found in cats in Surabaya amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The results will provide a basis for developing basic preventive and pet healthcare strategies. Materials and Methods: Samples were collected on physical examinations of domestic and Persian cats (males and females) from March 2020 to March 2022. Samples were collected if there were clinical signs of FECV and FIP based on a veterinarian's diagnosis in several clinics in Surabaya. Laboratory examinations in this study were performed by reverse-transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) with primers for conserved regions of FIP and FECV, DNA sequencing was performed with Applied Biosystem Genetic Analyzer protocol, homology analysis was performed using Basic Local Alignment Search Tool NCBI, phylogenetic analysis was carried out with BioEdit 7.2 software, and sequences were compared with references from GenBank. Results: Samples were collected from ten cats showing clinical signs of FECV and FIP, based on a veterinarian's diagnosis. On RT-PCR examinations performed with specifically designed primers for detecting FIPV in blood, peritoneal fluid, and feces, only one sample showed positivity for FIPV (1/10), namely, a peritoneal sample from a domestic cat in Surabaya. Homology analysis of the FIPV Surabaya isolate showed 98% similarity with FECV and FIPV reported in GenBank (MT444152 and DQ010921, respectively). In phylogenetic analysis, the FIPV Surabaya isolate was clustered together with SARS-CoV-2 of Clade A (MT198653) from Spain, SARS-CoV-2 Clade A (MT192765) from the USA, SARS-CoV-2 Clade D (039888) from the USA, and SARS-CoV-2 Clade F (MT020781) from Finland. Conclusion: This study revealed a relationship between the SARS-CoV-2 viruses that infect humans and cats (FECV), which is an important finding for those keeping cats at home. However, this finding requires further comprehensive support from laboratory studies.

International project PoroPCM involves partners from Germany, Czech Republic, Spain and Japan with the objective to develop new multifunctional Phase Change Materials modified porous cementitious nanocomposite (PoroPCM). Such material can be utilized for storing heat energy in the insulation layer of buildings compared to commonly used insulation materials since the phase change increases heat capacity. This enhanced feature reduces the amount of energy necessary for running the heating/cooling system. For the testing of the newly developed phase change cementitious composite a demonstration wall will be developed and tested for its thermal as well as mechanical performance. The topic of the paper is the description of the properties of the new phase change cementitious nanocomposite. The main emphasis of the paper is the description of the demonstration wall behaviour under typical environmental conditions. The wall design is supported by numerical simulation of the wall physical parameters. The numerical modelling involves the definition of suitable numerical models for the simulation of the thermal properties of the new phase change nanocomposite. The numerical model is then used to demonstrate the performance of the wall layer design. The presented pilot results show efficiency increase of the insulation material in the range 15-70 %. Also modelling of wind resistance of the layered structure is included. The developed wall design and PoroPCM material will be tested and verified by a large scale test in the final year of the project.

Geopolymers offer a potential alternative to ordinary Portland cement owing to their performance in mechanical and thermal properties, as well as environmental benefits stemming from a reduced carbon footprint. This paper endeavors to build upon prior atomistic computational work delving deeper into the intricate relationship between pH levels and the resulting material’s properties, including pore size distribution, geopolymer nucleate cluster dimensions, total system energy, and monomer poly-condensation behavior. Coarse-grained Monte Carlo (CGMC) simulation inputs include tetrahedral geometry and binding energy parameters derived from DFT simulations for aluminate and silicate monomers. Elevated pH values may can alter reactivity and phase stability, or, in the structural concrete application, may passivate the embedded steel reinforcement. Thus, we examine the effects of pH values set at 11, 12, and 13 (based on silicate speciation chemistry), investigating their respective contributions to the nucleation of geopolymers. To simulate a larger system to obtain representative results, we propose the numerical implementation of an Octree cell. Finally, we further digitize the resulting expanded structure to ascertain pore size distribution, facilitating a comparative analysis. The novelty of this study is underscored by its expansion in both system size, more accurate monomer representation, and pH range when compared to previous CGMC simulation approaches. The results unveil a discernible correlation between the number of clusters and pores under specific pH levels. This links geopolymerization mechanisms under varying pH conditions to the resulting chemical properties and final structural state.

Metakaolin (MK) has emerged as a highly promising supplementary material in low carbon binders for the construction industry. In wide range of applications, from lime to cement–based materials, its hardening performance relies on the pozzolanic reactivity between MK and calcium hydroxide (CH), resulting in the formation of diverse calcium-aluminate/silicate hydrates. The reaction sequence is affected by specific conditions dictated by the binder system employed in various applications. To advance the design of binders that reduce the carbon emissions, a systematical review on MK-based reactions is crucial. This review encompasses a broad range of MK/CH ratios and examines the effect of alkali hydroxides, carbonates and sulfates. The focus is on the formation and stability of pozzolanic hydrate phases over time and under different curing temperatures. Additionally, the review addresses the characteristics that directly affect MK reactivity, such as the (calcined) clay structure and the dissolution of the reactants. The systematic findings shed light on the hydrate phase assemblage, enabling a better understanding of the reaction mechanisms in complex systems, like MK cementitious blends. The results of this review serve as a valuable foundation for the development of novel “low-carbon” binder designs and compositions for both cementitious and lime-based binders.

Thyroidectomy is a relatively safe surgical procedure for thyroid gland removal with a with mortality and morbidity rates of less than 2–3%. Complication in the form of sound changes often goes unnoticed in post-thyroid patients despite its high incidence rate, i.e., 87% of all surgical cases. Laryngeal edema as the underlying cause can be triggered by intubation or extubation during anesthesia; malfunction of the strap muscles; surgery that directly causes injury to the superior laryngeal nerve; and recurrent laryngeal nerve injuries. Several studies on the use of dexamethasone to prevent or reduce laryngeal edema that occurs after thyroidectomy have been conducted with controversial results. This study was conducted to solve this controversy. This was a double-blind randomized prospective study on thyroid tumors patients who underwent thyroidectomy at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung, Indonesia, from December 2020 to May 2021. Technologies that can contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases are mandatory, and those based on solar energy are good candidates to achieve this. In this sense, massive solar thermal collectors are suitable technologies for supplying the primary energy demand of buildings. To design these devices, it is necessary to fully understand the physics of the problem before proposing any new optimized solution. This review aims to briefly summarize significant aspects regarding the current state of development of these solar technologies. Attention is paid to works devoted to experimental studies to analyze the behavior of these systems, as well as numerical models to predict the physics of the problem. Furthermore, the future directions and prospects in the field of massive collectors are briefly described. The main novelty of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview that summarizes the works done so far in the field over the past 30 years, which allows the reader to delve deeper into the topic. According to the reviewed works, it can be concluded that these technologies can contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases while at the same time being excellent examples of the integration of solar energy devices with buildings.

Abstract It is unclear whether survival in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) continues to increase in an era where rituximab-containing chemotherapy reigns for almost two decades. Therefore, we evaluated trends in primary therapy and relative survival (RS) among Dutch DLBCL patients diagnosed between 1989 and 2018. Analyses were performed separately according to the stage I (N = 6952) and stage II–IV disease (N = 20,676), stratified by calendar period and age (18–64, 65–74, and ≥75 years). The use of chemotherapy ± radiotherapy increased over time across all age and stage groups. As of the mid-2000s, >95% of chemotherapy-treated patients received chemoimmunotherapy, irrespective of age and stage. Overall, RS increased significantly over time across all age groups, especially after 2003 when rituximab-containing chemotherapy had become the standard of care. However, RS increased less pronounced between 2003–2010 and 2011–2018 than between 1989–2002 and 2003–2010. These findings were congruent across all studied stage groups. Five-year RS across the three age groups during 2011–2018 was 96%, 84%, and 67% for stage I DLBCL and 75%, 60%, and 46% for stage II–IV DLBCL. Collectively, survival in DLBCL increased modestly beyond the initial introduction of rituximab, with apparent survival differences across age and stage that warrant novel treatment approaches.

Abstract Studies on conditional relative survival (CRS) in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) have hitherto been lacking in the literature. We predicted up‐to‐date estimates of 5‐year RS at diagnosis and for each additional year survived (i.e., CRS) up to 15 years post‐diagnosis among CLL patients diagnosed during 2007–2020. We showed that 5‐year CRS continues to decline gradually with each additional year survived in a contemporary era with access to novel‐based agents, irrespective of age. This finding indicates that CLL patients continue to experience substantial excess mortality compared to an age‐ and sex‐matched group from the general population.

A Proxy used to see the Investment Strategy and Investment Performance in this study is the Trading Profit from transaction wich has been done by the investors. Investment strategy chossen bt investors can be seen from the investor’s tendency in doing some sales which contains some shareds with positive and negative valued trading profit. Investment Performance is seen from the investor’s capability in producing positive valued trading profit. This study used intra-day transaction data which are transacted by foreign investors and domestic investors. The result of this study found that foreign investors used a momentum when transacting in the stock excange and domestics investor using a contrarian when transacting in the stock excange. This study olso found that there isn’t defferent performance between foreign investors and domestik investors in stock excange transactions activities.

Electrochemical measurement methods are widely used to analyze various biochemical reactions due to their simplicity and versatility. Therefore, the development of potentiostats, electrochemical-based analytical instruments, that are low in cost but maintaining rich analytical features is highly demanding. In this paper, we report the development of a low-cost and portable potentiostat system, named ESPotensio, which supports six different electrochemical measurement methods and a multi-channel electrochemical measurement. The measurement methods it supports include the cyclic voltammetry (CV), linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), square wave voltammetry (SWV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), normal pulse voltammetry (NPV), and the observation of electrochemical response current against time based on chronoamperometry (CA) measurement method. Moreover, each of these measurement methods can be run semi-parallelly within three different channels. The electrochemical measurement precision, accuracy, and error of ESPotensio were evaluated based on the repeated measurements and the comparison with the commercial potentiostats. The results showed that it could produce highly accurate electrochemical measurements by having an average accuracy of more than 90% compared to the commercial potentiostat, Emstat Pico. Ultimately, the hardware design was determined accordingly to meet the low-cost demand by costing of only USD 21.4 for the total system realization.

This research aimed to determine the effects of toxic white pomegranate fruit extract (Punica granatum L) against larvae of brine shrimp (Artemia salina Leach) indicated LC50 values below 1000 µg/ml. This study is purely experimental by using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). The study was divided into seven groups, namely ethanol extract of white pomegranate fruit (Punica granatum L) with a concentration of 31,25; 62,5; 125; 250; 500; 1000 µg/ml and negative control (seawater). Mortality data percentage of Artemia salina Leach analyzed by probit analysis. Results showed that the extract of white pomegranate fruit extract (Punica Granatum L) has a toxic effect with LC50 values of 248,6 µg/ml calculate from probit analysis. From these results, it can conclude that white pomegranate extract is toxic to larval shrimp (Artemia salina Leach) with Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method which means white pomegranate extract has the potential to be an anticancer drug.

Abstract Identification of risk factors for early mortality (EM) in multiple myeloma (MM) patients may contribute to different therapeutic approaches in patients at risk for EM. This population-based study aimed to assess trends in EM and risk factors for EM among MM patients diagnosed in the Netherlands. All MM patients, newly diagnosed between 1989 and 2018, were identified in the Netherlands Cancer Registry. Patients were categorized into three calendar periods (1989–1998, 1999–2008, 2009–2018) and into five age groups (≤65, 66–70, 71–75, 76–80, >80 years). EM was defined as death by any cause ≤180 days post-diagnosis. We included 28,328 MM patients (median age 70 years; 55% males). EM decreased from 22% for patients diagnosed in 1989–1998 to 13% for patients diagnosed in 2009–2018 (P 70 years. Therefore, novel strategies should be explored to improve the outcome of patients at risk for EM.

Indonesia is a developing country with many local cultures trying to continue increasing electronic transactions with e-Banking. UTAUT2 is the one of acceptance and use of the technology model. This study focuses on investigating the effect of Javanese cultural philosophy (local culture in Indonesia) on banking customer behavior in accepting and using banking transactions. This paper is supported by qualitative information, although it uses a quantitative approach. The Javanese cultural philosophy “Ojo Gumunan, Ojo Kagetan” was the main information before distributing the questionnaire as primary data. This model uses UTAUT2 and data analysis using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS. The main results reinforce the theory that the Javanese cultural philosophy “Ojo Gumunan, Ojo Kagetan” is a significant dominant factor in influencing behavior intention. The results of applying the UTAUT2 model show a variance of 86.4% for the endogenous variable behavioral intention and 72.4% for the endogenous variable use behavior to e-banking, which exceeds the value of the original model. Findings revealed that the variables of Javanese philosophy and promotion conditions have a significant effect on behavioral intentions. The facilitating condition variables, habit variables, and behavioral intentions variables on behavior using e-banking proved to affect significantly. This study aims to evaluate the model of acceptance and use of e-banking with a Javanese philosophical approach. The evaluation results show that Javanese philosophy is the main and dominant factor in the model. The contribution of this study can provide insights for practitioners and researchers that increasing non-cash banking transactions (less-cash society) through e-banking can use a local-cultural philosophical approach. Introduction: This study aimed to determine the growth of pakcoy at the time of fertigation and the composition of the verticulture system planting media with different spacing of planting holes and their interactions on dry land. Methods: The method used is an experiment using a Split Plot Design using 3 plots. The main plot is the spacing of the planting holes consisting of 15 cm, 20 cm, and 25 cm. The subplot is the composition of the growing media consisting of soil:sand, soil:biochar; sand:biochar; and soil:sand:biochar. The sub-sub plot is fertigation time which consists of 60 seconds, 90 seconds, and 120 seconds. A total of 36 treatments were repeated 2 times for a total of 72 treatments. Results: Results: The results of this study showed that the interaction of fertigation time significantly affected the growth of plant height, number of leaves and fresh weight of crown with the best combination treatment of 120 seconds of fertigation time with soil:biochar growing media. Fertigation time has a significant effect on all observation parameters, with the best treatment being fertigation for 120 seconds. The composition of the growing media had a significant effect on the observations of plant height, the number of leaves, and the fresh weight of the crown with the best results found in soil: biochar growing media (1:1). Conclusion: The best combination result is a fermentation time of 120 seconds and the composition of soil and biochar (W3M2).

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect after being vaccinated by OMP 52 kDa Aeromonas hydrophila for 1 week and then infected with Aeromonas hydrophila 10 CFU/mL for 4 days on changes in erythrocyte index. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) used in this study was 10-12 cm long. There were 20 tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) which were divided into 4 groups, consisting of 2 control groups and 2 treatment groups which were given various types of vaccine formulations. Group P0 (-) (unvaccinated and infected), Group P0 (+) (unvaccinated and infected), group P1 (vaccinated with the whole cell protein "HydroVac®" and infected), and P2 (vaccinated with Outer Membrane Protein 52 kDa and infected) by intramuscular injection. Post-treatment blood samples were collected on day 5 post-infection, collected through a caudal punctie and then analyzed using a hematology analyzer. Post-treatment outcomes led to statistically significant changes (p < 0.05). Therefore, the vaccine caused a significant change in the erythrocyte index.

This study aimed to evaluate the potential of rice bran fermented by the enzyme phytase in basal feed to the total blood cholesterol level of laying hen. This research use an experimental method in vivo with a completely randomized design consisting of six treatments and four replications in each treatment. The experimental animals used 24 48-week-old female laying hen strain Isa Brown. The treatment wa given basal feed substituted with different percentage of fermented rice bran by phytase enzyme and 2% lemuru fish oil supplementation. In this research the amount of fermented rice bran by phytase enzyme substituted on basal feed was: treatment P0 (-) (0%), P0 (+) (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%) P3 (15%) and P4 (20%). The results of the statistical analysis showed that there are no significant differences (p> 0.05) on total blood cholesterol levels in all treatments. The conclusion of the research is that rice bran fermented by phytase enzymes tends to decrease total blood cholesterol levels in laying hen.

The electrochemical-based analysis provides simplicity, robustness, and relatively less maintenance. Specifically, a low-cost potentiostat, a basic equipment to conduct electrochemistry experiments and analysis, is necessary to aid small-medium educational units to develop a multifunctional mini-laboratory, particularly for education. In addition, the development of portable and small instruments could be essential to obtain a wider technology adopters implication. In this paper, eSTAT, a low-cost and smartphone controlled potentiostat system was developed based on ESP32 microcontroller. The performance of eSTAT was evaluated from the Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) measurements, from which the accuracy and the error tolerance of the system were determined. The results showed that the eSTAT could measure the Voltammogram signal with the accuracy of 98.30% for the anodic peak current and 87.84% for the cathodic peak current relative to the commercial Zimmer&Peacock ANA POT EIS potentiostat. In addition, the wireless control of eSTAT could be done wirelessly via Bluetooth using an external application made on Android OS.

This study investigates the shear behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beams that have been strengthened using carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) grids with engineered cementitious composite (ECC) through finite element (FE) analysis. The analysis includes twelve simply supported and continuous beams strengthened with different parameters such as CFRP sheets, CFRP grid cross-sectional area, and CFRP grid size. To conduct the analysis, FE models of the RC beams were created and analyzed using ABAQUS software. Research results show that the strengthened RC beams with CFRP grids and ECC had approx. 30–50% higher shear capacity than reference RC beams. The composite action of CFRP grids with the ECCs also showed a significant ability to limit diagonal cracks and prevent the degradation of the bending stiffness of the RC beams. Furthermore, this study calculated the shear capacity of the strengthened beams using an analytical model and compared it with the numerical analysis results. The analytical equations showed only a 4% difference from the numerical results, indicating that the analytical model can be used in practice.

Thermal loading, especially in fire scenarios, challenges the safety and long-term durability of concrete structures. The resulting heat propagation within the structure is governed by the heat conduction equation, which can be difficult to solve analytically because of the nonlinearity related to the thermophysical properties of concrete. A semi-analytical approach for the transient nonlinear heat conduction problem in concrete structures was established in the present work. The nonlinearity related to the temperature-dependent thermal conductivity, mass density, and specific heat capacity of heated concrete was taken into consideration. A Taylor series approximate solution was first established within a small neighborhood, employing the Boltzmann transformation in combination with the mean value theorem. Thereafter, it was extended to the whole domain by utilizing the Bernstein polynomial. The semi-analytical approach was validated by comparing it with the numerical results of two independent Finite Element simulations of nonlinear heat conduction along concrete plates, subjected to either moderate or fierce thermal loading. Absolute values of the relative errors are smaller than 5%. The validated semi-analytical approach was further applied to prediction of the temporal evolution of the temperature field of a scaled model of a subway station, subjected to fire disaster. The nonlinearities, related to the time-dependent surface temperature and the temperature-dependent thermophysical properties of concrete, were taken into consideration. The predictions agree well with the experimental measurements. The established semi-analytical approach exhibits good accuracy and stability, providing insight into the interaction between the thermophysical properties of concrete in the heat conduction process.

Metakaolin (MK) is a high-quality, reactive nanomaterial that holds promising potential for large-scale use in improving the sustainability of cement and concrete production. It can replace cement due to its pozzolanic reaction with calcium hydroxide and water to form cementitious compounds. Therefore, understanding the dissolution mechanism is crucial to fully comprehending its pozzolanic reactivity. In this study, we present an approach for computing the activation energies required for the dissolution of metakaolin (MK) silicate units at far-from-equilibrium conditions using the improved dimer method (IDM) and the transition-state theory (TST) within density functional theory (DFT). Four different models were prepared to calculate the activation energies required for breaking oxo-bridging bonds between silicate or aluminate units. Our results showed that the activation energy for breaking the oxo-bridging bond to a silicate neighbor is higher than that to an aluminate neighbor due to the ionic interaction. However, for complete silicate tetrahedra dissolution, a higher activation energy is required for breaking the oxo-bridging bond to the aluminate neighbor compared to the silicate neighbor. The findings provide methodology for missing input data to predict the mesoscopic dissolution rate, e.g., by the atomistic kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) upscaling approach.

This work presents a 3D off-lattice coarse-grained Monte Carlo (CGMC) approach to simulate the nucleation of alkaline aluminosilicate gels, their nanostructure particle size, and their pore size distribution. In this model, four monomer species are coarse-grained with different particle sizes. The novelty is extending the previous on-lattice approach from White et al. (2012 and 2020) by implementing a full off-lattice numerical implementation to consider tetrahedral geometrical constraints when aggregating the particles into clusters. Aggregation of the dissolved silicate and aluminate monomers was simulated until reaching the equilibrium condition of 16.46% and 17.04% in particle number, respectively. The cluster size formation was analyzed as a function of iteration step evolution. The obtained equilibrated nano-structure was digitized to obtain the pore size distribution and this was compared with the on-lattice CGMC and measurement results from White et al. The observed difference highlighted the importance of the developed off-lattice CGMC approach to better describe the nanostructure of aluminosilicate gels.

In this study, we reported the construction of Gold Nanospike (AuNS) structures on the surface of screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) used for non-enzymatic electrochemical detection. This modification was prepared with a one-step electrodeposition method by controlling the electrodeposition parameters, such as applied potential and deposition time, via Constant Potential Amperometry (CPA). Those parameters and precursor solution concentration were varied to investigate the optimum electrodeposition configuration. The results confirmed that AuNS were homogenously deposited and well-dispersed on the working electrode surface of SPCE. The AuNS-modified SPCE was implemented as a non-enzymatic sensor toward dopamine and could enhance the electrocatalytic ability compared with the bare SPCE. Further examination shows that the sensing performance of the AuNS-modified SPCE produced an increase in electrochemical surface area (ECSA) at 17.25 times higher than the bare electrode, a sensitivity of 0.056 µA mM−1 cm−2 with a wide linear range of 0.2–50 µM and a detection limit of 0.33 µM. In addition, AuNS-modified SPCE can selectively detect dopamine among other interfering analytes such as ascorbic acid, urea, and uric acid, which commonly coexist in the body fluid. This work demonstrated that AuNS-modified SPCE is a prospective sensing platform for non-enzymatic dopamine detection.

Concrete structures are increasingly becoming exposed to organic acid attack conditions, such as those found in agriculture and food-related industries. This paper aims to experimentally verify the thermodynamic modeling of cement pastes under acetic acid attack. For this, a modeling approach implemented in IPHREEQC via Matlab is described, and results are compared with measured pH and compositions of equilibrated solutions (MP-AES) as well as unreacted/precipitated solids (XRF, XRD and STA) for a wide range of acid concentrations. The 11% replacement of cement by silica fume (SF) led to a 60 or 70% reduction (measured or modeled, respectively) of Portlandite content in the hardened cement paste due to the pozzolanic reaction resulting in higher content of CSH phases, which has effects on the progression of dissolution processes and a resulting pH with increased acid concentrations. Considering that no fitting parameter was used, the model predictions showed good agreement with measured values of pH, dissolved ion concentrations and composition of the remaining (degraded) solids overall. The discrepancies here were more pronounced at very high acid concentrations (equilibrium pH < ~4), i.e., after the full dissolution of hydrate phases due to limitations in the model used to describe Al-, Si- and Fe-gel phases and/or identified experimental challenges in precipitation of calcium and aluminum acetate hydrates.

Various anticancer medications have been discovered due to advances in the health care industry, but they have undesirable side effects. On the other hand, anticancer drugs derived from natural sources have low side effects, making them excellent for cancer therapy. This study aims to evaluate the effect of clove flower extract (Syzygium aromaticum) as a potential anticancer agent by determining grid-score values using molecular docking and LC50 values using the brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT) technique. As animal models, three hundred larvae of Artemia salina leach were divided into six groups. Each group has ten larvae that have undergone five replications. The clove flower extract concentration in the treatment media was 50 ppm (T1), 250 ppm (T2), 500 ppm (T3), 750 ppm (T4), 1000 ppm (T5), and 0 ppm (seawater) as the control. The probit analysis of Artemia Salina leach mortality percentage data. The results indicated that the clove flower extract (Syzygium aromaticum) is harmful to larvae with LC50 values of 227,1 g/ml or in the equation y = 2,8636 x – 1,7466 with an R2 value of 0.9062. According to molecular docking, eugenol acetate (grid-score −42.120834) has a close relationship with the cognate enzyme nitric oxide synthase (3E7G) based on its proximity to the grid score value (grid-score −61.271812). Therefore, clove flower extract has the potential to act as an anticancer medication. Based on the grid-score proximity, eugenol acetate is close to the homologous enzyme nitric oxide synthase (3E7G). Inhibition of nitric oxide synthase also shows a reduction in cancer cell proliferation.

BackgroundThere has been a cultural shift toward patient engagement in health, with a growing demand from patients to access their results. ObjectiveThe Lymphoma Intervention (LIVE) trial is conducted to examine the impact of return of individual patient-reported outcome (PRO) results and a web-based self-management intervention on psychological distress, self-management, satisfaction with information, and health care use in a population-based setting. MethodsReturn of PRO results included comparison with age- and sex-matched peers and was built into the Patient-Reported Outcomes Following Initial Treatment and Long-Term Evaluation of Survivorship registry. The self-management intervention is an adaptation of a fully automated evidence-based intervention for breast cancer survivors. Patients with lymphoma who completed the web-based questionnaire were equally randomized to care as usual, return of PRO results, and return of PRO results plus self-management intervention. Patients completed questionnaires 9 to 18 months after diagnosis (T0; n=227), 4 months (T1; n=190), 12 months (T2; n=170), and 24 months (T3; n=98). ResultsOf all invited patients, 51.1% (456/892) responded and web-based participants (n=227) were randomly assigned to care as usual (n=76), return of PRO results (n=74), or return of PRO results and access to Living with lymphoma (n=77). Return of PRO results was viewed by 76.7% (115/150) of those with access. No statistically significant differences were observed for psychological distress, self-management, satisfaction with information provision, and health care use between patients who received PRO results and those who did not (P>.05). Use of the self-management intervention was low (2/76, 3%), and an effect could therefore not be determined. ConclusionsReturn of individual PRO results seems to meet patients’ wishes but had no beneficial effects on patient outcome. No negative effects were found when individual PRO results were disclosed, and the return of individual PRO results can therefore be safely implemented in daily clinical practice.
