Ovarian cancer (OC) is common malignant tumor of female reproductive system. Glutamine metabolism-related genes (GMRGs) play a key role in ovarian cancer. Here, available database-- The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx), and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases were applied in our research. OC samples from TCGA were divided into different clusters based on Cox analysis, which filtering GMRGs with survival information. Then, differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between these clusters were intersected with DEGs between normal ovary samples and OC samples, and GMRGs in order to obtain GMRGs-related DEGs. Next, a risk model of OC was constructed and enrichment analysis of risk model was performed based on hallmark gene set. Besides, the immune cells ratio in OC samples were detected via Cell type Identification By Estimating Relative Subsets Of RNA Transcripts (CIBERSORT). Finally, we explored a series of potential biomarkers of OC. In this research, 9 GMRGs-related DEGs were obtained. GMRGs-related DEGs were enriched to canonical Wnt signaling pathway.NKD2, C2orf88, and KLHDC8A, which were significantly associated with prognosis, were retained for risk model construction. Based on the risk model, 18 hallmark pathways with significant difference were enriched. Fifteen types of immune cells (such as iDC, NK CD56dim cells, and neutrophils) enjoying significant difference between these 2 risk groups (high risk group vs. low risk group) were detected, which indicates possible disparate TME in different metabolic subtypes of ovarian cancer.

Background: One of the effects of Steamed Panax notoginsen (SPN) is to replenish blood, which is mostly used to treat anemia in clinic. SPN has the effect of treating anemia and Alzheimer's disease (AD) in clinical and basic research. In traditional Chinese medicine, anemia and AD have the same characteristics, and their symptoms are qi and blood deficiency. Methods: First, data analysis was carried out through network pharmacology to predict the action targets of SPN homotherapy in the treatment of AD and anemia. Specifically, TCMSP and relevant literature were used to screen the main active ingredients of Panax notoginseng, and SuperPred was used to predict the action targets of the active ingredients. Disease targets related to AD and anemia were collected through Genecards database, and STRING and protein interaction (PPI) was used for enrichment analysis, Analyze the characteristics of the active ingredient target network on the Cytascape 3.9.0 platform, and use Metascape to enrich the gene ontology (GO) and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes Pathway Enrichment (KEGG pathway). Then Drosophila was used as the AD animal model, and the effects of SPN on the climbing ability, olfactory memory and brain Aβ, with rats as anemia animal models, the improvement effect of SPN on blood routine and organ index of rats with blood deficiency induced by CTX and APH was analyzed to further explain the therapeutic effect of SPN on these two diseases. Finally, the regulatory effect of SPN on the key active target of allotherapy for AD and anemia was verified by PCR. Results: After the screening, 17 active components and 92 action targets of SPN were obtained. The degree values of components and the first 15 targets are NFKB1, IL10, PIK3CA, PTGS2, SRC, ECFR, CASP3, MTOR, IL1B, ESR1, AKT1, HSP90AA1, IL6, TNF, and Toll-like receptor, it is mainly related to inflammatory response, immune regulation and antioxidation. SPN improved the climbing ability, olfactory memory ability, and Aβ42 content in the brain of Aβ flies, and significantly reduced the expression of TNF and Toll-like receptor in the brain after treatment. SPN can significantly improve the blood routine index and organ index of anemia rats, and also significantly reduce the expression of TNF and Toll-like receptor in the brain after treatment. Conclusion: SPN can regulate the expression of TNF and Toll-like receptor to achieve the same treatment of AD and anemia.

Long non-coding RNAs have been confirmed closely related to the metastasis and angiogenesis of breast cancer (BC). LINC01857 can promote the growth and metastasis of BC cells. The present work focused on exploring the role of LINC01857 in BC metastasis and angiogenesis and investigating the possible mechanisms. The results showed that LINC01857 and CENPQ were highly expressed in BC tissues and cells, while miR-2052 was contrarily expressed. In vitro study showed that low expression of linc01857 could inhibit the migration ability and vascularization of BC cells, and mir-2052 inhibitor partially restored the effect of si-LINC01857 on the migration ability and vascularization of BC cells. Likewise, inhibition of CENPQ can partially rescue the effects of miR-2052 inhibitor on the migration ability and vascularization of BC cells. In vivo studies showed that down-regulation of LINC01857 notably suppressed tumor growth and angiogenesis in nude mice. The miR-2052 inhibitor partially restored the effects of si-LINC01857. CENPQ suppression partially rescued the effects of the miR-2052 inhibitor. To conclude, LINC01857/miR-2052/CENPQ is the potential novel target for BC treatment.

Robust face clustering enjoys a wide range of applications for gate passes, surveillance systems and security analysis in embedded sensors. Nevertheless, existing algorithms have limitations in finding accurate clusters when data contain noise (e.g., occluded face clustering and recognition). It is known that in subspace clustering, the ℓ 1 - and ℓ 2 -norm regularizers can improve subspace preservation and connectivity, respectively, and the elastic net regularizer (i.e., the mixture of the ℓ 1 - and ℓ 2 -norms) provides a balance between the two properties. However, existing deterministic methods have high per iteration computational complexities, making them inapplicable to large-scale problems. To address this issue, this paper proposes the first accelerated stochastic variance reduction gradient (RASVRG) algorithm for robust subspace clustering. We also introduce a new momentum acceleration technique for the RASVRG algorithm. As a result of the involvement of this momentum, the RASVRG algorithm achieves both the best oracle complexity and the fastest convergence rate, and it reaches higher efficiency in practice for both strongly convex and not strongly convex models. Various experimental results show that the RASVRG algorithm outperformed existing state-of-the-art methods with elastic net and ℓ 1 -norm regularizers in terms of accuracy in most cases. As demonstrated on real-world face datasets with different manually added levels of pixel corruption and occlusion situations, the RASVRG algorithm achieved much better performance in terms of accuracy and robustness. Aim: To develop a comprehensive training course for training ICU nurses in prone positioning. Design: A mixed study combining semi‐structured interviews and two rounds of Delphi surveys. Methods: We constructed a questionnaire after collecting data through a literature review and semi‐structured interviews. We used the Delphi expert correspondence method to conduct two rounds of research among 17 experts in the field of critical illness. Data collection took place between May and August 2022. Results: The effective questionnaire recovery rate was 88.2%. The expert authority coefficient was 0.876; the Kendall coordination coefficient was 0.402; the average importance score for each index ranged from 4.00 to 4.93; and the coefficient of variation for each index ranged from 0.05 to 0.19. We established 13 second‐level indicators and 41 third‐level indicators on prone position ventilation training according to three aspects: training contents, training methods and training assessment. The training system of prone mechanical ventilation for ICU nurses established in this study will provide an effective framework for training and evaluating the practical ability of prone mechanical ventilation for ICU nurses. Simple Summary: Since the 1990s, the golden cuttlefish (Sepia esculenta) has become the dominant cuttlefish fisheries target in the seas around China. In this paper, we aim to determine the current resource status and spatio-seasonal variation in the population in the East China Sea region. We found more juveniles at latitudes of 27.50–28.00° N and 29.00° N and more subadult individuals at 28.50° N in autumn, exhibiting different growth rates and resource densities. In addition, we found the majority of the catches were composed of parent groups in spring, while in autumn, the majority of the catches were composed of juvenile groups. We concluded that the subadult groups might have dispersed widely for feeding and growth along the latitude of 30.00° N and to the south in summer, and the southern area of the Yangtze River extending north was the spawning ground in spring. The groups of S. esculenta preferred to stay in areas with a stable water temperature of ~20.00 °C, and many S. esculenta juveniles might have adapted to endure the negative influence of the low oxygen content in summer. The depth range of the S. esculenta population was 10.00–133.00 m from spring to autumn, but this shrank to 66.00–107.00 m in winter. The golden cuttlefish (Sepia esculenta) is an important cephalopod species with a lifespan of approximately one year. The species plays a crucial role in marine ecological support services and is commercially valuable in fisheries. In the seas around China, this species has emerged as the main target for cuttlefish fisheries, replacing Sepiella maindroni since the 1990s. Variations in oceanographic conditions associated with global warming could significantly impact the temporal-spatial distribution of the species. In this study, we performed bottom trawling surveys with four cruises during 2018–2019 in the East China Sea region to determine the current resource status and seasonal-spatial variations in S. esculenta. We found that the average individual weight (AIW) values were 4.87 and 519.00 g/ind at stations located at 30.50° N, 124.00° E and 30.50° N, 124.50° E, respectively, with the aggregation of larvae and parent groups in spring. The species was not distributed north of 32.00° N in summer. The catch per unit effort by weight (CPUEw) value decreased in the order of 2772.50→2575.20→503.29→124.36 g/h, corresponding to latitudes of 34.50° N→34.00° N→33.50° N→32.50° N 121.50° E in autumn. The most suitable fishing areas were the south of the East China Sea region in spring; the south of the East China Sea region extending to the center and outer parts of the East China Sea region in summer; the south of the Yellow Sea close to the Haizhou Bay fishing ground and the forbidden fishing line region of the Lusi and Dasha fishing grounds in autumn; and the south and center of the East China Sea region in winter. The most suitable sea bottom temperature (SBT) values from spring to winter were 14.76–20.53 °C, 19.54–22.98 °C, 11.79–17.64 °C, and 16.94–20.36 °C, respectively. The most suitable sea bottom salinity (SBS) values were 31.53–34.80‰ in spring, 32.95–34.68‰ in summer, 31.51–34.77‰ in autumn, and 33.82–34.51‰ in winter. We concluded the following: (1) the southern and northern areas of the East China Sea region are spawning and nursery grounds, respectively, in spring; (2) the central distribution is located at a latitude of 28.00° N in autumn and winter; and (3) the southern area of the Yangtze River to the north is a spawning ground in spring, and the areas located at 29.00–34.50° N, 124.00–124.50° E, and 28.00–30.50° N, 125.50–126.50° E are nursery grounds. The results of this study provide useful guidance for appropriate fisheries management, thereby avoiding a collapse in the S. esculenta population, which has been experienced in other species in this area. Software defect prediction is an important part of software development, which aims to use existing historical data to predict future software defects. Focusing on the model performance and communication efficiency of cross-project software defect prediction, this paper proposes an efficient communication-based federated meta-learning (ECFML) algorithm. The lightweight MobileViT network is used as the meta-learner of the Model Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) algorithm. By learning common knowledge on the local data of multiple clients, and then fine-tuning the model, the number of unnecessary iterations is reduced, and communication efficiency is improved while reducing the number of parameters. The gradient information model is encrypted using the differential privacy of the Laplace mechanism, and the optimal privacy budget is determined through experiments. Experiments on three public datasets (AEEEM, NASA, and Relink) verified the effectiveness of ECFML in terms of parameter quantity, convergence, and model performance of cross-project software defect prediction. Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) combined with chemotherapy have been recommended as the standard treatment for advanced NSCLC patients without driver‐gene mutations. However, there are different genetic characteristics and biological traits of tumors between non‐East Asian (nEA) and East Asian (EA) patients with NSCLC, which may contribute to differences in the efficacy of ICIs in different ethnic populations. Previous findings regarding differences in the efficacy of ICIs among ethnic groups have been inconsistent. Therefore, we performed a meta‐analysis by collecting published data to investigate the clinical outcomes of ICIs for EA NSCLC patients compared to nEA patients. Methods: Overall survival (OS) and progression‐free survival (PFS) were used to access the difference in survival outcomes between the two populations. Subgroup analyses were performed based on the line of ICIs, the use of ICIs alone or in combination, and the type of ICIs. Results: A total of 9826 NSCLC patients from 21 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with 4064 EAs were included, which involved PD‐1, PD‐L1, and CTLA‐4 inhibitors. EA NSCLC patients who received ICIs‐based therapy were associated with significantly improved survival benefits in OS (p = 0.02) compared with nEA patients. Subgroup analysis indicated that EA patients receiving first‐line ICIs showed significantly superior OS compared with nEA patients (p = 0.007). Chemo‐ICIs treatment showed significant advantages in terms of OS (p = 0.002) and PFS (p = 0.02) among EA patients compared to nEA patients. In addition, PD‐1 inhibitors were associated with improved OS among both EA patients and nEA patients compared with PD‐L1 inhibitors. Conclusion: EA NSCLC patients who received ICIs‐based therapy were associated with significantly improved survival benefits compared with nEA NSCLC patients. Earlier intervention with ICIs and combination treatment was more recommended for EA NSCLC patients. Moreover, PD‐1 inhibitors are associated with prolonged survival among both EA and nEA patients. Aims/Introduction: Thrombospondin‐1 (TSP‐1) participates in a series of physiological and pathological processes by binding to various receptors regulating cell proliferation, adhesion and apoptosis. Elevated circulating TSP‐1 is linked with diabetic vascular complications (DVC). This study aimed to determine the relationship between circulating TSP‐1 levels and DVC. Materials and Methods: A comprehensive search of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and CNKI databases was carried out. A meta‐analysis was carried out to compare circulating TSP‐1 levels between diabetes patients without vascular complications (DNVC), diabetes patients with DVC and non‐diabetes patients. The correlation between TSP‐1 and metabolic parameters was also analyzed. Subgroup analysis was carried out according to complication type, defined as diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy and diabetic cardiovascular disease (DCVD). Results: A total of eight studies were included. Compared with non‐diabetes patients, diabetic patients, including DNVC and DVC, had significantly higher circulating TSP‐1 levels (standardized mean difference [SMD] 2.660, 95% CI 1.17–4.145, P = 0.000). DNVC had significantly higher circulating TSP‐1 levels than non‐diabetes patients (SMD 3.613, 95% CI 1.607–5.619, P = 0.000). DVC had significantly higher TSP‐1 levels than DNVC (SMD 0.568, 95% CI 0.100–1.036, P = 0.017). TSP‐1 was significantly positively correlated with fasting plasma glucose (overall Fisher's z = 0.696, 95% CI 0.559–0.833) and HbA1c (overall Fisher's z = 0.849, 95% CI 0.776–0.923). Conclusions: Elevated circulating TSP‐1 levels are closely related to DVC, especially in diabetic nephropathy and diabetic cardiovascular disease. Acidovorax citrulli can cause bacterial fruit blotch of watermelon, melon, and other cucurbits, and has the potential to cause severe economic losses to growers throughout the world. This article investigated the functions and interactions of the pilR and pilS genes, two important genes in bacterial type IV pili systems, in A. citrulli. For each gene, deletion mutants and complementary strains were constructed via homologous recombination, and their phenotypes were determined. The results showed that the absence of pilR and pilS could significantly reduce the pathogenicity and twitching motility of A. citrulli while increasing the swimming motility, biofilm formation, and in vitro growth. Conversely, complementary strains were no different than the wild-type strain. Using quantitative reverse transcription PCR and promoter activity assays, we confirmed that the deletion of pilR and pilS genes leads to a significant decrease in the transcription level of pilA. Meanwhile, three methods including yeast two-hybrid, glutathione S-transferase pull-down, and luciferase complementation imaging assays were used to verify the direct interaction between the PilR and PilS proteins. Simple Summary: The swordtip squid (Uroteuthis edulis) is both of commercial and ecological importance and vital in the coastal China ecosystem. However, the limited ecological research requires further investigations into its habitat preferences. To address this, we studied how the habitat of U. edulis varies and what environmental factors drive its movements across different seasons in the East China Sea (ECS) and southern Yellow Sea. The study found that U. edulis predominantly inhabited the central and southern regions of the ECS, with a slight shift in the geometric center of its habitat across seasons. The preferences for sea surface temperature, sea surface height, and depth were the primary factors affecting its distribution. During summer and autumn, the suitable habitats of U. edulis were larger and expanded northwards towards the coastline, but in spring and winter, they retreated southwards to waters near the edge of the ECS continental shelf. These patterns are likely influenced by the changing mixture of ocean currents and varying environmental conditions throughout the year. This study provides valuable insight into how U. edulis is distributed in response to the changing environment, which can help to better manage and protect their populations. Accurately modeling the distribution of keystone species is of utmost importance to gain a comprehensive understanding of their complex ecological dynamics and to develop effective strategies for sustainable scientific management. In the coastal China ecosystem, the swordtip squid (Uroteuthis edulis) stands out as a keystone species with significant commercial and ecological value. Despite its importance, research on the ecological dynamics of this species remains limited and requires further investigation. To investigate the spatial and temporal variability in the distribution of U. edulis and identify the key environmental drivers in the East China Sea (ECS) and southern Yellow Sea across different seasons, we generated ensemble models using oceanographic variables and fishery-independent scientific survey data collected from 2016 to 2018. Our results revealed that U. edulis predominantly inhabited the central and southern regions of the ECS throughout the year. The primary environmental variables driving its distribution varied by season, with the sea surface temperature being the most important in spring, sea surface height in summer and autumn, and depth in winter. During summer and autumn, the suitable habitats of U. edulis were found to be largest and extended northwards towards the coastline. However, they migrated southwards to the waters near the edge of the ECS continental shelf with smaller suitable areas in the spring and winter. These results suggested that U. edulis exhibited season-specific habitat preferences and responded to changing environmental conditions throughout the year. The observed seasonal distribution patterns were likely influenced by the fluctuating mixture of waters (ocean currents) from different sources, with varying physical and chemical characteristics throughout the year. Our study provides baseline data for comprehending the population dynamics of U. edulis and highlights the significance of considering species' habitat preferences in a dynamic environment.
