An analysis of 2074 papers indexed by Science Citation Index-Expanded and published by different countries on various aspects of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) during 1991 to 2010 indicates that JE is a highly collaborative discipline as judged by the values of co-authorship index and the collaborative coefficient for different countries and different sub-fields. Of the total published papers, about two-third were written in collaboration. Of these, 214 (10 %) were written with local collaboration, 700 (34 %) with domestic collaboration and 478 (23 %) with international collaboration. Among all the countries, USA is the most important partner country for all the collaborating countries. The study indicates that the share of collaborative papers increased almost four times in 2001-2010 as compared to 1991-2000. USA, Japan, Taiwan and India produced about 70 % of domestically co-authored papers. USA also had the largest number (21 %) of the internationally co-authored articles. Among 17 highly collaborative institutions, the highest (six) are from India, and Liverpool University (UK) had the highest number of internationally collaborative papers, followed by Centre of Disease Control and Prevention (USA). An analysis of 2074 papers published on different aspects of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) during 1991 to 2010 and indexed by Science Citation Index-Expanded indicates that the output increased many folds since 1991 except for a significant dip in 2005. These papers were scattered in 501 journal titles, which originated from 29 different countries. Total output came from 62 countries of which 14 countries contributed 90% of the total output. The highest number of publications came from USA, followed by India. The publication activity increased significantly in China, South Korea, France, Austria, Singapore, Germany and decreased for Japan in the second block. Data indicates that about 87% of the total output is concentrated among 15 sub-disciplines and the remaining in other 53 sub-disciplines. Highest output (18%) is in the sub-discipline of virology. Among the prolific institutions, the publication output of institutions from the USA and Taiwan had higher impact. Citation per Paper (CPP) and Relative Citation Impact (RCI) were more than average for USA. All the Indian institutes listed under prolific institutions had made only a low impact. An analysis of letters published by top 10 publishing countries in journals indexed by Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) during 1987-89, 1997-99 and 2007-09 indicates that the letters published by developed countries including China have declined as proportion of their total output. The number of letters published by Indian scientists has remained constant during the three blocks. These letters were scattered in a large number of journals published from advanced countries of the world and India. The letters came from more than 1000 institutions located in different parts of the country. The highest number of letters was published in the discipline of medicine and the letters published in the field of chemistry had the highest Relative Citation Impact (RCI). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SCIENCE , *CITATION indexes , *UNIVERSITIES & colleges , *SCIENTIFIC literature , *SCIENTISTS , *PERIODICALS - Abstract
An analysis of 11067 papers published by Indian scientists and indexed by Science Citation Index (SCI) CD-ROM for the year 1997 indicates that academic institutions (universities and colleges) are the major contributors to the scientific publications output. Major contribution came from 29 institutions, which contributed about 45% of the total Indian scientific output. Based on the values of different impact indicators (normalized impact per paper, publication effective index and relative quality index) TIFR outperforms all other institutions on different impact indicators. Fifty seven percent of the output is concentrated in physical sciences, chemical and medical sciences. Indian scientists widely publish their findings in journals published from the scientifically advanced countries of the West. Based on these values of the Normalized Impact Factor (NIF), it is observed that about two-third of the total papers have appeared in low and medium NIF journals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article focuses on the poor citation of Indian science journals. It says that only 46 out of 1000 Indian science periodicals were indexed by multidisciplinary database Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE). It states that 39% of 5317 articles and reviews found in 46 Indian science periodicals were cited in January 2006 to June 2009. It adds that poor citation is caused by poor circulation, reduced frequency of publication, and non-availability of said periodicals in the Open Access mode.

Little is known about the existing gender disparities in library and information science research. The current study aims to analyze research articles from the Annals of Library and information studies journal from a gender perspective. The study looked at the author's position in relation to their gender, various patterns of collaboration, and if this has affected citations. This study also attempts to determine the male and female authors' research interests as the first author. The data were gathered from the Scopus database between 2011 and 2019 and were quantified using bibliometrics. Six distinct authorship patterns were recognized. The findings reveal men in first and last author positions constitute the highest research articles and citations indicating male authors to be more influential compared to females. Additionally, the study findings have provided an overview of the current state of women in library and information science research and highlighted areas where improvements can be made. The author reflects on Mausam, a journal that publishes results of original scientific research in the field of meteorology and atmospheric sciences. He argues that the journal is not being indexed by the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-E) despite being published for more than 50 years. He suggests that the journal needs to include scientists and researchers from abroad and needs to change its name in English, so that it would have larger circulation.

Mapping knowledge domain (MKD) is an important application in bibliometrics, which is a method of visually presenting and explaining newly developed interdisciplinary scientific fields using data mining, information analysis, scientific measurement, and graphic rendering. This study combines applied mathematics, visual analysis technology, information science, and scientometrics to systematically analyze the development status, research distribution, and future trend of the heterogeneous traffic flow by using the MKD software tools VOSviewer and CiteSpace. Based on the MKD and Bibliometrics approaches, 4709 articles have been studied, which were published by Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) from 2004 to 2021 in the field of heterogeneous traffic flows. Firstly, this paper presents the annual numbers of articles, origin countries, main research organizations, and groups as well as the source journals on heterogeneous traffic flow studies. Then, cocitation analysis is used to divide heterogeneous traffic flow into three main research directions, which include "heterogeneous traffic flow model," "traffic flow capacity analysis," and "traffic flow stability analysis." The keyword cooccurrence analysis is applied to identify five dominant clusters: "modeling and optimization methods," "traffic flow characteristics analysis," "driving behavior analysis," "simulation experiment," and "policies and barriers." Finally, burst keywords were studied according to the publication date to present more clearly the change of research focus and direction over time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
