The article discusses walking safaris in Zimbabwe. The training methods used for safari guides are examined, which include studying under master guides, gaining experience with animals, and passing a field exam. Zimbabwe's economic and political history are explored in terms of the impact on the safari industry, as the author states that a more stable economy has improved the country's tourism. The author's experiences on safaris and working with guides Dave Christensen and Stretch Ferreira are included.
