The article informs that sea ice and chief scientist Steve Rintoul and his team aboard have found that warm water was flooding into the cavity beneath the floating ice and probem of sea level rise had just got worse. Rintoul has revealed that Southern Ocean soaks up huge amounts of heat and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and set out to measure the global ocean for the first time.
