Identifying trends in research through co-citation or content analysis of journal contents is quite a common practice in LIS research. In this study, however, we proposed the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), a popular topic-modeling approach for identifying research trends of published articles in three scopus-indexed Indian LIS journals. A total of 1213 titles & their abstracts published between 2011 and 2022 have been considered. From these data, a corpus of frequently used 15 key phrases was identified from each journal using Count Vectorizer and then ten topics having higher coherence scores were extracted from each journal corpus using LDA techniques to understand to what extent these topics are different in these journals. The analysis of the study indicates that 'Library users' studies' especially in academic libraries; and 'bibliometric indicators for measuring research growth are a few common topics in these journals and, technological innovation; utilisation of electronic and print information resources; library management; or network analysis are some of the topics that are journal specific. From the t-SNE visualisation and pyLDAvis diagram, it was seen that the topics of DJLIT are significantly unique with discrete distributions than the other two journals. On analysing the growth of the top ten topics longitudinally, it was seen that research on digital libraries, analysing the global output, online search strategy, ranking universities, etc. are concurrent interests of research among researchers while academic library resources, including electronic resources and its use, open access are among diminishing research interests of authors. Since the topic-modeling approach can provide results devoid of bias, it can be used to identify research land scape longitudinally as well as obsolescence of topic in a domain. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has changed the traditional way of learning into digital way of learning. It has enhanced the learning activity of academicians not only of universities but also of colleges. College Libraries have now been subscribing electronic resources for the past few years. Libraries of the colleges are now being automated and they are moving towards virtual libraries/e-libraries. Resources like electronic books, electronic journals, online databases, electronic reference sources etc. have now become an important part of college libraries. College/Academic libraries are fundamental part of higher education system and it must have the relevant resources for their users. This study examines the electronic resources and Internet being consumed by the students and faculty members of Udai Pratap Autonomous College. The core objectives was that how the faculty members and students of this college face the problem while accessing online resources, how they take advantages of online resources, how much they are aware towards online resources and how much more do they prefer online resources than conventional resources. In this regards, a total 200 faculty members and students were selected to fill up the questionnaire prepared on Google form. Out of 200 respondents, only 160 responses had been received. This paper examines the characteristics of 462 open access (OA) journals being published in India under the green, gold and hybrid models. The sample of journals was selected from DOAJ, IndianJournal.com and Open J-Gate. Journal characteristics were measured in terms of growth, subjects, publishers, and citations under each model. While characteristics such as growth, subject, and publisher have been identified by exploring the journal's website only, the citation count of these journals has been calculated by using Google Scholar and the Indian Citation Index. The gold road is now the most popular form of OA publishing in the subcontinent. There is a great variation in the size of OA journals and in their publishers. One publisher has more than 77 journals, but 264 publishers publish a single journal only. Overall, the OA journal landscape is greatly influenced by a few key publishers and journals. While 43% of journals charge publication fees and the fees vary from as low as US$10 to as high as US$400, the highest impact factor of the gold OA journals has been noted as 0.58. The magnitude and eminence of e-journal of the UGC-Infonet digital library consortia in five subjects of social science and science discipline have been examined and addressed. While quality issue is judged by using Science and Social Science edition of Journal Citation Report (Thompson Scientific, 2007), the quantitative issue is measured by counting number of journals available under individual subject. The result of the study indicates that there are 8265 journals available in 97 different subjects. While highest number of journals in science discipline is available in medical science followed by biology and mathematics, Highest number of journals in social science discipline is available in history followed by economics and education. Of the total journals in science, 46.35% journals of biology are indexed in JCR. Most of the journals in science discipline have impact factor between 1 -5, while most of journals in social science are not indexed at all, which signifies that quality of science journals are quite high than of social science. The article presents a study that determines the importance of scholarly communications (SCs) in literature. It provides an overview of the definition and different means of SC, which describes the processed involved in a research and how they were communicated and evaluated among peers. It also mentions the significant transformation of SCs from print to electronic journals, as well as the evolution of their publications.

Attempts to identify the usersâ€(tm) requirement of online journals in general and to know the use of online journals that are available through UGC-Infonet e-journals consortium in particular. A questionnaire survey was conducted amongst 100 research scholars of various departments like history, political science, sociology, psychology and economics at the Faculty of Arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.  Reveals that there is a demand for more e-journal titles although a substantial number of users (61.90 percent) are satisfied with the existing model of UGC-Infonet Consortium.  Concludes that comprehensive training on availability and usability would be of great help to the users. Investigates the trend of open access journals publishing in the field of library and information science in terms of language, top-level-domain, country and time. Using authoritative print as well as online directories, the study identifies 124 e-journals in the field of LIS that are accessible freely, either partially or fully, on the Web. Of these, 12 titles have ceased their publication and remaining 112 titles are presently accessible freely on the Web. Analysis of the 112 e-journals shows that English is the most widely used language of LIS scholarly publishing. Most of these OA journals are originating either from academic or organizational domain and developed countries like USA and UK are publishing most of the OA journals.
