Abstract

’Purpose. To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of carbon dioxide laser combined with ALA photodynamics in the treatment of condyloma acuminatum. Method. A total of 211 patients with condyloma acuminatum admitted to our hospital from April 2018 to June 2021 were selected as the observation object. They were divided into the intervention group (CO2 laser combined with ALA photodynamic therapy, 125 cases) and conventional group (CO2 laser treatment, 86 cases), and the efficacy and incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups were compared. Result. The total effective rate of the intervention group (96.00%) was significantly higher than that of the conventional group (84.88%) ( P < 0.05 ). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the intervention group (8.00%) was lower than that in the conventional group (32.56%) ( P < 0.05 ). Univariate analysis showed that the patient’s smoking history, drinking history, course of disease, wart area, and number of sexual partners were related to the short-term prognosis ( P < 0.05 ). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the patient’s course of disease, the area of the wart body, and the number of sexual partners were independent factors affecting the prognosis of patients with condyloma acuminatum ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion. Carbon dioxide laser combined with ALA dynamics treatment of condyloma acuminatum significantly improves the clinical efficacy, does not increase the incidence of adverse reactions, and has important clinical therapeutic value. The course of the disease, the area of the wart, and the number of sexual partners are independent factors affecting the prognosis of patients with condyloma acuminatum.

Abstract

Objective The artificial liver support system (ALSS) is used frequently as a first‐line treatment for hepatitis B virus‐associated acute‐on‐chronic liver failure (HBV‐ACLF). This study aims to compare the therapeutic efficacy of double plasma molecular adsorption system (DPMAS) with sequential half‐dose plasma exchange (PE) (DPMAS+PE) and full‐dose PE in patients with HBV‐ACLF. Methods A total of 131 hospitalized patients who were diagnosed with HBV‐ACLF and underwent DPMAS+PE or PE were retrospectively analyzed. According to the treatment methods used, they were divided into PE group (n = 77) and DPMAS+PE group (n = 54). The main evaluation indexes included the change of liver function and the 28‐days liver transplant‐free survival rates after the different treatments. Results There were no significant differences on severity of illness between PE group and DPMAS+PE group (P > 0.05). The total bilirubin (TBIL) levels immediately after treatment, and at 24 and 72 hours after treatment were markedly decreased in DPMAS+PE group than that in PE group (52.3 ± 9.4% vs 42.3 ± 7.2%, P

Introduction: Background: latest studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency is related to the occurrence of irritable bowel disease (IBS), and taking vitamin D as a supplement can alleviate the symptoms of irritable bowel disease. However, clinical treatment of irritable bowel disease with vitamin D is controversial. Objective: we conducted a meta-analysis of all clinical trials to evaluate the associations between vitamin D and irritable bowel disease. Methods: we screened all randomized controlled trials that were published before December 20, 2021 from the following databases: Medline, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Cochrane Central, and Clinical Trial. We used RevMan 5.4.1 and Stata 16.1 to analyze the relevant data. The standardized mean difference (SMD) with 95 % confidence interval (95 % CI) was used to report effect sizes. Serum vitamin D concentration, risk of vitamin D deficiency among patients with IBS, Symptom Severity Score (SSS), and Quality of Life (QoL) score are the main endpoint outcomes in this study. Results: data from twelve clinical trials with 1331 IBS patients were included. Patients with IBS have relatively low vitamin D levels in their serum. Vitamin D supplementation improves the Quality of Life (QoL) score but has no significant effect on the Symptom Severity Score (SSS). Conclusions: vitamin D deficiency is associated with the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome. Serum vitamin D levels decreased in patients with irritable bowel syndrome, and vitamin D supplementation could improve patient quality of life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
