An enzyme‐free glucose electrochemical sensor with high sensitivity and selectivity is highly attractive. In this work, an enzyme‐free glucose sensor with Cu2O hollow microspheres (Cu2O HMs) was prepared via hydrothermal method. The glucose sensor constructed by the prepared Cu2O HM structure exhibited a low detection limit of 0.13 μM, a high sensitivity of 277.1 μA/mM cm2, and the wide linear ranges of 0.05–1.5 and 1.5–6.0 mM. Furthermore, anti‐interference tests indicated that the prepared sensor exhibited good selectivity for glucose and practical application in human serum. In this work, Cu 2 O/CuO hollow microspheres (Cu x OHM) are scattered on the reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanosheet to form Cu x OHM/RGO hybrid by a simple one-step hydrothermal method. Characterizations of the prepared Cu x OHM/RGO hybrid were performed by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry were employed to investigate the electrocatalytic properties of the Cu x OHM/RGO hybrid. We found that the constructed glucose sensor has a broad linear range of 0.01−14.0 mM (R2 = 0.997), a low detection limit of 1.15 μM and a high sensitivity of 635.315 μA/mM cm2. In comparison with pristine Cu x OHM and RGO, the prepared hybrid glucose sensor showed significantly enhanced electrocatalytic activity. Additionally, the sensor also shows fabulous anti-interference ability, good stability. The excellent electrocatalytic performance together with the simple and low-cost preparation method make Cu x OHM/RGO hybrid be an appealing electrocatalyst in glucose sensor application.
