Bu çalışmada Prof. Dr. M. Şevki AYDIN’ın “Bir Din Eğitimi Kurumu Olarak Kur’an Kursu” kitabının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. DİB yayınlarından çıkan bu eser genel olarak Kur’an kurslarını din eğitimi açısından incelemektedir. Kitabın ikinci baskısından bugüne aradan geçen zamanda Kur’an kursları adına birçok değişim ve gelişim yaşanmıştır. Araştırmamızda kitabın değerlendirilmesi yanında eserde yer alan bilgiler güncel değişim ve dönüşümlerle de desteklenmiştir. Kitabın ikinci baskısının yapıldığı 2010 yılından bu yana ülkede Kur’an kursları adına önemli gelişmeler yaşanmıştır. Yaz Kur’an kurslarına katılmada yaş sınırlamasının kaldırılması, 4-6 yaş grubu Kur’an kursu projesinin uygulamaya geçirilmesi, kur sisteminin kaldırılması, ihtiyaç odaklı kurs programlarının çerçevesinin genişletilerek bu programların eğitim bilimleri açısından geliştirilme çalışmaları, hafızlık Kur’an kurslarının var olan kapsamının genişletilerek örgün eğitimle birlikte hafızlık yapabilme imkan ve projesi, hafızlık öğrencilerinin hafızlığını ikmal ettikten sonra yine Başkanlık bünyesinde İslami İlimler Programına kayıt olarak Arapça ve Temel İslami ilimler alanlarında yetiştirilmeleri, yine bu öğrencilere Mesleki ve Teknik Ortaöğretim Kurumlarından mezun olanlara alanlarıyla ilgili lisans bölümlerini tercihte kendilerine sağlanan ayrı kontenjan avantajından yararlanabilmeleri, kurs öğreticilerinin yeterliklerinin güncellenmesi konuları kitabın yayınlandığı yıllarda var olup da 2023 yılı itibariyle meydana gelmiş değişim ve dönüşümlerden bazılarıdır. Dolayısıyla eseri yaygın din eğitimi açısından Kur’an kurslarının sistematiğini tanıtma, kurslarda verilen programlar hakkında temel bilgi ve tartışmaları sunma, kurslardaki din eğitimi ve öğretiminin niteliği ve bilimselliğini ifade etmesi açısından Başkanlığın yaygın din eğitiminde başlıca alanı olan Kur’an kursları birçok açıdan incelenmiştir. 2022 yılına kadar Erciyes Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesinde Öğretim Üyesi olarak görev yapan Aydın, halen Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinde Öğretim Üyesi olarak görevine devam etmektedir. Din Eğitimi alanında özgün çalışmalara imza atan Aydın aynı zamanda 2004-2010 yıllarında Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığında eğitimden sorumlu Başkan Yardımcısı olarak da görev yapmıştır. Bu anlamda Aydın’ın, alanın gerektirdiği teorik yapıya sahipliği yanında pratik durum ile yakından ilişkili olduğu söylenebilir. YÖK-TEZ verilerine göre danışmanlığını yaptığı 6 doktora, 26 yüksek lisans tezi bulunmaktadır. Aydın’ın yayınlanmış 23 kitap/kitap bölümü, ulusal ve uluslararası dergilerde yayınlanmış onlarca makale ve bildirisi bulunmaktadır. Aydın, Türkiye’de din eğitimi bilim dalında halen aktif olarak görev yapan birçok öğretim üyesi/görevlisi/araştırma görevlisinin hocası konumunda bulunmasının yanında Din Eğitimi biliminin bilimselleşmesine de katkı sağlamıştır. Sonuçta incelemeyi konu aldığımız bu çalışmada Aydın’ın özellikle DİB’de görev yaptığı zaman dilimlerindeki tecrübe ve birikimleri, kendi ilmi tecrübesiyle yoğruşturularak okurlara sade ve anlaşılır bir dil ile anlatılmıştır. İncelenen eserin seçilmesinin nedeni, kitabın yayınlandığı dönemden bugüne Kur’an kursları üzerine birçok değişim ve dönüşüm süreçlerinin yaşanması ve böylesine önemli ve alana katkı sağlayan çalışmanın bu zamana kadar kritiği/değerlendirilmesinin yapılmamış olması nedeniyledir. Çalışma, kitabın yayınlandığı dönem şartları dikkate alınarak değerlendirilmiş, gerektiğinde güncel bilgilerle desteklenmiştir.

Abstract Accurate glucose prediction is vital for diabetes management. Artificial intelligence and artificial neural networks (ANNs) are showing promising results for reliable glucose predictions, offering timely warnings for glucose fluctuations. The translation of these software‐based ANNs into dedicated computing hardware opens a route toward automated insulin delivery systems ultimately enhancing the quality of life for diabetic patients. ANNs are transforming this field, potentially leading to implantable smart prediction devices and ultimately to a fully artificial pancreas. However, this transition presents several challenges, including the need for specialized, compact, lightweight, and low‐power hardware. Organic polymer‐based electronics are a promising solution as they have the ability to implement the behavior of neural networks, operate at low voltage, and possess key attributes like flexibility, stretchability, and biocompatibility. Here, the study focuses on implementing software‐based neural networks for glucose prediction into hardware systems. How to minimize network requirements, downscale the architecture, and integrate the neural network with electrochemical neuromorphic organic devices, meeting the strict demands of smart implants for in‐body computation of glucose prediction is investigated.

Bu araştırmada 2021 yılında Elif Sobi tarafından kaleme alınan “Türkiye’de Yüksek Din Öğretimi 1997-2020” başlıklı çalışmanın değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Kitap kritiği konusunda bu çalışmanın seçilmesinin temel nedeni, İlahiyat ve İslami İlimler fakültelerinin son yıllarda niceliksel olarak artışı, bununla birlikte öğretim üyeleri ve istihdam kurumlarının bu artışın niteliğe yansıyamadığı konusundaki eleştirileri etkili olmuştur. Çünkü bu çalışma tam da bu temel soruna odaklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde ülkemizde 1997-2010, ikinci bölümünde ise 2010-2020 yılları arasında yüksek din öğretimi özelinde yaşanan siyasi ve eğitim açılarından gerçekleşen değişim ve dönüşümler çeşitli açılardan değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde ise yüksek din öğretiminin geleceği tartışılmış ve önerilerle çalışma son bulmuştur. Literatüre bakıldığında yakın dönem yüksek din öğretimi konusunda bu denli bir kapsamlı çalışmaya rastlanılamamıştır. Çalışma, yakın dönem yüksek din öğretimini eğitim tarihi tarzında ele almakta, siyasetin eğitime olumlu veya olumsuz etkileri bakımından ilgili dönemler çeşitli açılardan değerlendirilmektedir. Bu itibarla çalışmanın alanda çalışma yürüten akademisyenlere, lisans ve lisansüstü öğrencilere kaynak eser niteliğinde olduğu söylenebilir. Çalışmada oldukça sade ve anlaşılır bir dil kullanılmış, ele alınan konular güncel çalışmalarla da desteklenmiştir. Yazarın doktora tezinden ürettiği çalışmanın metodolojisi açıkça ifade edilmiş ve araştırma süreci bu çerçevede şekillendirilmiştir. Çalışma, kapsamı itibariyle 1997-2020 yılları yüksek din öğretimini konu alsa da din öğretiminin sistemli ilk kaynağını ifade eden medrese eğitimine değinmemesi bir eksiklik olarak ifade edilebilir. Bununla birlikte çalışmanın alanda yürütülecek çalışmalara kaynaklık edecek olması, içerisinde yüksek din öğretiminin geleceğinin tartışılması, siyaset gibi konjonktürel bir çerçevede eğitim sistemi ile ilgili iddialı söylemlerde bulunulması ve oldukça zengin bir içeriğe sahip olması açılarından önemli ve okunmaya değer olduğu söylenebilir.

In the 21st century, the educational system plays a crucial role in promoting social progress and development. As the world becomes more interconnected with the help of education, the concept of a single global community, or "one world, one homeland," becomes more relevant as world citizenship. This article provides a comprehensive literature review of the current state of education and its potential to impact social progress. The study highlights the challenges faced by teachers in cultivating knowledge, values, and innovative teaching methods in students. The article explores the impact of the internet and instant communication networks on education and how they have changed the nature of ethnic and national identities in societies during globalization. It also discusses the importance of developing 21st-century skills, including critical and creative thinking, information, communication and civic literacy, global awareness, and cross-cultural skills in students. The findings of the research suggest that the education system needs to focus on promoting and preparing world citizens who are equipped with the necessary skills and values to contribute to the betterment of society. The article concludes that it is crucial to develop a citizenship concept from societies to the world perspective and to support students in developing their skills and abilities to help them meet the challenges they will face in society.

The patient underwent intensive care after an acute abdominal surgery due to intestinal perforation. The patient was examined for postoperative muscle weakness, and the differential diagnosis was studied. Guillain-Barré syndrome is an acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. Infection, surgery, and transplantation have been cited in its etiology. History, clinical examination and follow-up, laboratory tests, and electrophysiological studies are important in its diagnosis, as well as differential diagnosis. Intravenous immunoglobulin and plasmapheresis are the mainstays of care, and supportive care is important for long-term treatment. In this case report, an intensive care unit approach was discussed, in which the surgical paradigm and gastrointestinal stromal tumor were thought of as a rare paraneoplastic complication.

After many centuries, humankinds have reached today’s time by passing the centuries’ gatherings to their offspring. The civilizations which were established in the different part of the world have had their own culture according to their needs, religions, daily routines etc. One more step from here to cultural and traditional attitudes which were risen and had been started to show them on individual’s behaviors and ideas. During these periods, the individuals specifically have learned and understood life from their societies. So, individuals’ behaviors and attitudes are shaped according to societies what cultural arguments they have. The perception and understanding of arguments can be different in those many centuries but there have -always- been race and ethnicity. The interpreting of the terms specifically has shown itself weakly or strongly from the deep sight of the history till now. This article has a general glance at race and ethnicity for seeking and finding the middle path in the societies. It is important to study on race and ethnicity and to build a new understanding and perspective for humans and how to bring positive ideas for societies and nations.

In the process of obtaining information, education has significant role. The information is transferred to the individuals through education system within the composition societies made up. The opportunities societies have and informing individuals are provided through public service in the process of educating and teaching. Education within public service is maintained by being divided into different stages and supporting individuals’ social, academic, and cultural achievements more in each stage and preparing the to the upper stage. Universities correspond to the last stage of the process of teaching and educating during which public service is offered. Institutions of teaching and educating offered by universities are serving for public through foundation universities which are at the same status as state universities and private universities and are formed or forming according to the needs of societies. The state and foundation universities at the same level as higher education serve to improve quality of education of the societies, share the information and support its reproduction by using more effectively, support self-improvement of the individuals, help them get a profession. Opened throughout the state, and private universities, it is important to serve the needs of their regions for the same purposes. Particularly in terms of higher education, it offered the possibilities, opportunities, and innovations for individuals, contribute to society and the standard of living will be higher. In this paper, goals which are met through foundation universities which are at the same level as private universities and opened to contribute to state universities in Turkey and to start an era in which education environment is more qualified, are aimed to be evaluated in terms of society and education.

In this study mid- and long-term outcomes of the cases with trigger finger we treated using Admix NoKorTM have been presented. Percutaneous release procedures were applied for 24 fingers of 22 (19 female, 3 male patients; mean age, 57; range, 39-72) patients between May 2009 and May 2011. Preoperatively US was performed so as to confirm the presence of trigger finger. Diameters of the tendons of the affected and intact hands measured using US, were compared so as to be able to demonstrate thickening of the tendon of the trigger finger. The patients were monitored for an average period of 25.2 (range, 14-36) months. During surgery, clinically loss of the catching sensation was observed. In two patients percutaneous trigger finger release failed, so we have to proceed with open surgery. During open surgery, we observed longitudinal wounds on the tendon. One patient developed unilateral radial digital nerve damage. Percutaneous release of the trigger finger using Admix NoKorTM 16-G gauge needle can be preferred in the treatment of trigger finger. Trigger finger of the first digit requires more attentive approach and one should be aware of the complications. If required open surgery can be preferred. [Med-Science 2017; 6(3.000): 551-6]

Aim: This study was designed to reveal the relationship between dominant hand and dominant eye and to present the dominance rates of the population. Methods: 160 healthy subjects (80 females, 80 males) between the ages of 18-60 were included in the study. While the determination of the dominant hand was based on the answers of the participants, the Dolman test was used to determine the dominant eye. The chi-squared test was used to determine the relationship between the variables. Results: Of the sample, 91.3% (146 subjects) predominantly used their right hand and 68.8% (110 subjects) used their right eye. The right eye and hand were dominant in 106 subjects, and the left eye and hand were dominant in 10 subjects. As a result of the chi-square test, there was a statistically significant difference between the dominant hand and the eye. Conclusion: Since the right hand and right eye were highly dominant in the study, it is thought that the left hemisphere of the participants was dominant in terms of functional lateralization. Additionally, it is thought that the repetition of the study in patients with presbyopic cases and in patients before cataract surgery will be clinically beneficial.

Aim: This study aims to evaluate the relationship between body mass index and navicular drop in healthy young individuals by considering gender differences. In addition, it is to support the literature for a better understanding of the effect of the foot on the balance mechanisms and to contribute to the development of new approaches in addition to the existing treatment approaches. Methods: A hundred medical school students between the ages of 18-25 were included in our study. The participants’ age, height, and weight information were recorded, and body mass index (BMI) was calculated. The navicular drop test was performed to measure the pronation response of the foot. Results: The mean±SD values of the determined parameters in men and women were as follows respectively: Age: 20 and 20; Height (cm): 179±12.7 and 163±0.05, Weight (kg): 78.8±5.3 and 54.5; BMI (kg/m2): 24.4±3.5 and 20.2, right navicular tubercle height in a sitting position (SNTR): 43.7±4.8 and 38.7±5.1; right navicular tubercle height in a standing position (StNTR): 36.4±4.2 and 24.9±4.8; the navicular drop rate of the right foot (NDRR): 7.2±4.2 and 7.2±5.3; left navicular tubercle height in a sitting position (SNTL): 37.2±3.5 and 32.3±5.3; left navicular tubercle height in a standing position (StNTL): 30±4.7 and 31.5±5.2; the navicular drop rate of the left foot (NDRL): 7.2±4.7 and 7.4±4.6. Conclusion: As a result of our study, it is seen that an insignificant change in the rate of navicular drop as the body mass index increases in men and women.

The very first census started to be made during Mahmud II period. The recordings which started in 1831 completed in nearly all parts over the country when it was in 1844. In these registers which had made military-aimed, just male recordings were made. Besides, in the population register there are some important details such as the governmental, social and economic situation of the region. Hence, in most of the book, beside the father of the family, the occupational state of some other residents who profess any other job are indicated. The 1988 numbered and 29 Z. 1246 dated Kayseri population register, which is the main source of this study, is a detailed book consisted of 139 pages. The mentioned population register talks about 85 quarters in Kayseri city centre in which Muslims live. In the recordings, in which the male population of Muslims living in Kayseri city centre in 1831 is recorded, some important information is included such as people’s names, physical appearances, titles, nicknames, jobs and migration situations. The register, which recorded nearly all the jobs which the fathers of the families profess, is remarkably important. Professing jobs such as masjid attendant, herald, coffeehouse keeper, labourer, carrier, saltpetrer, merchant, farmer, grocer, smith and a lot more professions alongside administrative (like mukhtar), religious (like imam, muezzin, mudarris) and military jobs (like reserves, regulars, corporals) demonstrates the diversity and liveliness of the commercial, economic and social life in Kayseri. In this study we will show this diversity and richness of jobs in Kayseri under the light of the 1831 dated, 1988 numbered population register of Muslims in Kayseri.

In this study, the feed-forward (FF) neural networks (NNs) with back-propagation (BP) learning algorithm is used to estimate the ultimate tensile strength of unrefined Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys and refined the alloys by Al-5Ti-1B and Al-5Zr master alloys. The obtained mathematical formula is presented in great detail. The designed NN model shows good agreement with test results and can be used to predict the ultimate tensile strength of the alloys. Additionally, the effects of scandium (Sc) and carbon (C) rates are investigated by using the proposed equation. It was observed that the tensile properties of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys improved with the addition of 0.5 Sc and 0.01 C wt.%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to reveal the vascularization of the divisions of the kidneys. In the study, 20 Ross 308 broiler fowls(Gallus domesticus) averaging 1980+20 gr and obtained from a local breeding station in Ankara were used. Arterial system of the 10 animals was filled with colored latex. The descending aorta of the others were ligated from the level whereafter the ischiadic artery arose, and were filled the latex. Supply area of the cranial, middle, and caudal renal arteries were observed. Additionally, the left cranial division of the kidney was received blood from a branch of the cranial oviductal artery. The middle division was nourished by the branches from the cranial and middle renal arteries while the caudal division was vascularized by the caudal renal artery.

The multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) have drawn great attention due to their exceptional mechanical, physical, thermal and electrical properties. The MWCNTs as the reinforcements significantly improved the properties of materials. However, the major challenges in composites containing CNTs are the poor wettability and poor interfacial bonding between matrix and CNTs. In this study, the used MWCNTs have a diameter of 8–10 nm and 1.5 μ m in length. MWCNTs are purified in HNO _3 : H _2 SO _4 , sensitized in Sn solution and activated in Pd solution at 90 °C, and coated with the Nickel and Cobalt elements using an electroless coating method. The holding time in the bath is 15, 30 and 60 min, and the bath concentration is also changed. The coatings are characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) equipped with electron dispersive spectrum (EDS), elemental mapping, x-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. The results showed that the Ni and Co coating layers are successfully formed on the surface of MWCNTs. The deposition rate is affected by the holding time and the bath concentration. The optimal results are obtained at the holding time of 60 min in the C concentration sample.

In this paper, the effect of different alloying elements on the ultimate tensile strength of Al-Mg2Si composites is theoretically studied. The feed forward back propagation neural network with sigmoid function is used. The extensive experimental results taken from literature are modeled and mathematical formula is presented in explicit form. In addition, it is observed that magnesium and copper have a stronger effect on the ultimate tensile strength of Al-Mg2Si composites comparison to other alloying elements. The proposed model shows good agreement with test results and can be used to find the ultimate tensile strength of Al-Mg2Si composites.

In order to investigate the structure of welds, austenitic stainless steel (SS) studs with a diameter of 6 mm were welded to austenitic SS plates with a thickness of 5 mm using an arc stud welding (ASW) method. The effects of the welding current, welding time, and tip volume of the stud on the microstructure and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of the welded samples were investigated in detail. The formation of δ-ferrites was detected in the weld zone because of the higher heat generated during the welding process. Higher welding current and time adversely affected the stud and significantly reduced the UTS of the samples. The UTS of the joints was also estimated using artificial neural network (ANN) and Taguchi approaches. The mathematical formulations for these two approaches were given in explicit form. Experimental results showed that the neural network results are more consistent with experimental results than those of the Taguchi method. Overall, it can be concluded that in order to achieve good welding joints and high strength values, ASW parameters should be investigated properly to determine the optimum conditions for each metal.

In the current study, the effect of applied load, sliding speed, and type and weight percentages of reinforcements on the wear properties of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) was theoretically studied. The extensive experimental results were taken from literature and modeled with artificial neural network (ANN). The feed forward (FF) back-propagation (BP) neural network (NN) was used to predict the dry sliding wear behavior of UHMWPE composites. Eleven input vectors were used in the construction of the proposed NN. The carbon nanotube (CNT), carbon fiber (CF), graphene oxide (GO), and wollastonite additives are the main input parameters and the volume loss is the output parameter for the developed NN. It was observed that the sliding speed and applied load have a stronger effect on the volume loss of UHMWPE composites in comparison to other input parameters. The proper condition for achieving the desired wear behaviors of UHMWPE by tailoring the weight percentage and reinforcement particle size and composition was presented. The proposed NN model and the derived explicit form of mathematical formulation show good agreement with test results and can be used to predict the volume loss of UHMWPE composites.
