Background: This article evaluates the evolution of physical activity and health research in China through a bibliometric analysis focused on number of publications, study areas, and sex balance in authorship. Methods: A systematic review was conducted by the Global Observatory for Physical Activity for "physical activity and health" publications between 1950 and 2019. Here, we focus on the 610 Chinese publications identified, defined as those in which data collection took place in China. We assessed the number of publications, classified them into 5 areas (1) surveillance, (2) correlates and determinants, (3) health consequences, (4) interventions, and (5) policy, and analyzed female participation in authorship. Results: The first Chinese publication identified in the review was in 1990. Since, the average number of physical activity and health publications increased from one per year in the 1990s to 7.6 per year in the 2000s, and to 47 per year in the 2010s. Most publications focused on the correlates and determinants (38.7%) and the health consequences of physical activity (35.9%). Physical activity policy accounted for 2.3% of the publications. In the 1990s, 64% of the publications included at least one female author; this proportion increased to 90% in the 2010s. Conclusion: Despite a slow start, China's research on physical activity and health has grown rapidly since 2000. The distribution of publications by study areas and female participation in authorship is similar to that observed globally, with fewer publications focused on interventions and policy as compared with other topics. This article from the editors of the "Academy of Management Review" states that a rejection of a theory-only paper doesn't imply that the effort was in vain, as the content can be repurposed into other publication formats including literature reviews, structured theory articles, inductive and abductive studies, or deductive and hypothesis-testing research. These alternative formats address common challenges faced by theory paper authors, potentially increasing the impact and preserving core ideas of the original work. Authors are encouraged to utilize developmental feedback and resources to improve their manuscripts and explore different formats to advance their theoretical contributions, whether their initial submissions are successful or not.

Background: The objective of this study was to investigate gender differences in authorship in physical activity and health research. Methods: A bibliometric study including 23,399 articles from 105 countries was conducted to estimate the participation of female researchers in physical activity publications from 1950 to 2019. The frequency of female researchers was analyzed and classified by first and last authors and the overall percentage of female authors by region and country. Results: The proportion of female first authors increased from <10% in the 50s and 80s to 55% in the last decade. On the other hand, the proportion of last authors increased from 8.7% to 41.1% in the same period. Most publications with female researchers were from the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Spain, England, Germany, Sweden, and China. Nine of these countries had over 50% of the articles published by female first authors. However, in all 10 countries, <50% of the articles were published by female last authors. Conclusions: The proportion of female researchers increased over time. However, regional differences exist and should be addressed in gender equity policies. There is a gap in the participation of female researchers as last authors. By actively addressing the gender gap in research, the global society can harness the full potential of all talented individuals, regardless of gender, leading to more inclusive and impactful scientific advancements. The International Journal of Market Research (IJMR) is celebrating its sixty-fifth anniversary. Over the past decade, the journal has experienced significant growth in readership, impact factor, citations, and submissions. While the majority of accepted papers come from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Germany, the journal aims to bridge the gap between academia and practice in the field of market research. In order to enhance its relevance and accessibility, IJMR will transition to an online-only format, adopt an interdisciplinary focus, provide guidelines for more user-friendly article formats, and publish a list of research priorities based on the perspectives of leading practitioners. The academic publishing process is fraught with challenges, inconsistencies, and the absence of clearly articulated guidelines and recommendations, particularly for doctoral students and other newcomers. Our goal is to overview key information that authors may consider and decisions they will need to make when determining authorship and preparing manuscripts for submission. Specifically, we discuss how authors can consider (a) the ongoing discussion of authorship, (b) identifying a target journal, and (c) submitting a manuscript for review. We draw influence from how processes are conducted relative to the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education in approaching our commentary as a point of reference. Nevertheless, while acknowledging differences in journal style and submission formats, many of the considerations discussed are relevant across publication outlets. Common threads across the discussion impress the importance of being intentional, proactive, and adaptive when engaging in authorship conversations and identifying target journals for submission. A fully numerical homogenization technique for the retrieval of the effective surface susceptibilities of a periodic composite metasurface is developed in this work. We utilize the so-called dual field-flux finite element formulation scheme to accurately calculate the eigenmodes of a composite periodic metasurface, a scheme that possesses a crucial advantage: The capability of evaluating all field components and their derivatives accurately and with the same order of approximation is a requirement for our proposed technique. Next, we derive the generalized sheet transition condition equations for a general bianisotropic metasurface, which correlate the field components on either sides of the metasurface with its surface susceptibilities. At this point, we establish a new field averaging scheme for the acquisition of the average field components of the modes supported by the metasurface. Combining this computational information, we derive a set of linear algebraic equations based on the GSTCs and the average electromagnetic fields and numerically solve it, so as to obtain the effective surface susceptibilities of a bianisotropic metasurface. Comparison with the results of other techniques in the literature shows very good agreement, relatively to the resonance behavior of the returned values and their position at the frequency spectrum. The advantages that distinguish the proposed technique over other related methods are its foundation on the intrinsic modal information of the eigenmodes supported by the metasurface and its independence of any wave excitation schemes or involvement of analytical polarizability calculations. Following the onset of COVID-19, research production in economics and finance (measured by the posting of working papers) increased by 29 |$\%$|⁠. Production increases were widespread across geographies, job titles, departments, and ages with larger increases in top departments and for people under the age of 35. Men and women both experienced production increases with the exception of women between the age of 35 and 49, who experienced no production gains despite large increases for men in the same age group. COVID-19 increased reliance on past coauthorship networks, with larger production gains for authors that are more central to the network. Literature is a medium of expressing what it is to be human and to feel human, and religious texts are one category of these expressions of humanity. Christian hymns mirror the right beliefs and right practices of their faiths. As such, this study analyzed where man roots and finds his source of worth and identity through selected contemporary hymns. The hymn "My Worth is not in what I own" and "I'd rather have Jesus" were selected using deliberate sampling. The paper utilized a descriptive qualitative design, and subjected the two hymns to both document analysis and thematic analysis, where several observations and interpretations have emerged. Based on the interpreted data, linguistic features show the dominance of the first-person pronouns and negation as effective devices in pointing the meaning and source of worth and identity. Literary devices such as comparison and rhyme also affect the rhythm and understanding of the hymns toward the discovery of one's identity and worth. The Searlean assertive, declarative, and expressive acts are found to be evident in the formation and discovery of one's worth and identity, in that there is assertion, redirection, and response to the newfound/expounded identity and worth. In conclusion, this study provides compelling evidence that material pursuits of the speaker in the two hymns are in no match and comparison to the grander scale of Jesus as ultimate source of identity, worth, pleasure and treasure. These findings have important implications that hymns do not only lay out spiritual and theological truths, but also individual and psycho-social aspects of meaning making of what it is to exist, what it is to be human, and why we exist. As such, this study contributes to our understanding of hymns. Overall, this research highlights the significance of analysis of hymns and suggests potential avenues for future investigation. Purpose: Choosing the best stump closure method for laparoscopic appendectomy has been a debated issue, especially for patients with acute appendicitis. The lack of consensus in the literature and the diverse techniques available have prompted the need for a comprehensive evaluation to guide surgeons in selecting the most optimal appendiceal stump closure method. Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted on multiple databases from inception until December 2023 to find relevant studies according to eligibility criteria. The primary outcome was the incidence of total complications. Results: 25 studies with a total of 3308 patients were included in this study, overall complications did not reveal a significant advantage for any intervention (RR = 0.72, 95% CI: 0.53; 1.01), Superficial and deep infection risks were similar across all methods, Operative time was significantly longer with endoloop and Intracorporeal sutures (MD = 7.07, 95% CI: 3.28; 10.85) (MD = 26.1, 95% CI: 20.9; 31.29). Conclusions: There are no significant differences in overall complications among closure methods. Aim: To evaluate the experience and effectiveness of six semi-structured writing retreats on research publication quantity and quality for nursing and midwifery academics and research students. Background: Research publications are necessary to develop a track record to gain competitive funding and for promotion. Publications also improve the standing of universities because their performance is measured in-part by research outputs. However, there are challenges to writing for publication, especially for new nursing and midwifery academics and research students. Therefore, four of the authors initiated semi-structured writing retreats to support nursing and midwifery academics and research students to overcome these challenges. Methods: A mixed methods exploratory sequential design consisting of two distinct phases and data collection methods. In phase one, an online evaluation was administered to collect participant experiences which were then analysed using content analysis. In phase two, data about the quantity and quality of publications arising from each retreat was collected, and descriptive statistics performed. Results: A total of 70 participants responded to the online evaluation. Qualitative analysis of their responses demonstrated that the writing retreats were highly valued as they offered a collaborative environment with dedicated time to focus on writing for publication. Quantitative analysis identified 81 publications were planned over the six writing retreats. Of these, 60 have been published, 5 are under review, 5 have not yet been submitted, and 11 were abandoned. Conclusions: Findings demonstrated that our six semi-structured writing retreats enabled and developed nursing and midwifery academics and research students writing for publication. Semi-structured writing retreats are a research investment that enabled preparation of high-quality publications by offering protected time to write, expert peer review and collaboration and networking opportunities. Financial fraud negatively impacts organizational administrative processes, particularly affecting owners and/or investors seeking to maximize their profits. Addressing this issue, this study presents a literature review on financial fraud detection through machine learning techniques. The PRISMA and Kitchenham methods were applied, and 104 articles published between 2012 and 2023 were examined. These articles were selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria and were obtained from databases such as Scopus, IEEE Xplore, Taylor & Francis, SAGE, and ScienceDirect. These selected articles, along with the contributions of authors, sources, countries, trends, and datasets used in the experiments, were used to detect financial fraud and its existing types. Machine learning models and metrics were used to assess performance. The analysis indicated a trend toward using real datasets. Notably, credit card fraud detection models are the most widely used for detecting credit card loan fraud. The information obtained by different authors was acquired from the stock exchanges of China, Canada, the United States, Taiwan, and Tehran, among other countries. Furthermore, the usage of synthetic data has been low (less than 7% of the employed datasets). Among the leading contributors to the studies, China, India, Saudi Arabia, and Canada remain prominent, whereas Latin American countries have few related publications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Drawing on drafts and other material from the Harvey Sacks archive this paper examines the development of one of the defining papers of Conversation Analysis, A Simplest Systematics for the Organization of Turn-Taking for Conversation (Sacks, Schegloff, and Jefferson 1974). The discussion examines four drafts of the paper along with correspondence between the authors and with William Bright, the editor of the journal Language where it was to be published. The four drafts trace the development of the paper from a 13-page draft to the final 106-page final draft submitted to the journal. By exploring the drafts as they evolved the discussion highlights the development of the central ideas in the paper, the distinctive style of the paper as it is revised, the changes of authorship, and the role of the editor of Language, William Bright, in helping to shape the paper through his own detailed reviews. This study adopts a multiple-case study design to address 'Does copyright law protect automated news, and if so, how' in three jurisdictions: the United States, the European Union and China. Through doctrinal legal analysis of the copyright laws and document analysis of policy reports, corporate responses and other empirical evidence, this study has found that the three copyright regimes differ substantively with regard to both formal texts and informal enforcement of copyright claims to artificial intelligence (AI)-generated news. In the United States, there has been a policy silence. In the European Union (EU), eager regulators have rushed to enact premature laws and failed policy patchwork. In China, the state is instrumentalising both laws and journalism to further its own interests. These findings suggest that current regulatory frameworks in all cases have led to a weakening of the institution of copyright, which, in turn, has contributed to the deinstitutionalisation of journalism and the institutionalisation of algorithms. Heraclitus' fragments employ a powerful literary technique which is used to convey information without giving it directly: the texts appeal to sensation and bodily experience to evoke spatial scenes and so become intuitively comprehensible and display a surprisingly vivid quality. The means to bring this effect about can be analysed and explained with approaches from cognitive studies. This article presents three criteria to analyse vividness in spatial scenes and applies them to four fragments of Heraclitus in order to show how the text makes use of perceptual structures and exploits them to convey information without the recipient noticing it. ABSTRACT Background Aims Patients/Methods Results Conclusions Nose augmentation using nonsurgical methods, including volumizing and cogged threads, has gained popularity due to its minimally invasive nature, shorter recovery times, and reduced risks compared to traditional rhinoplasty. However, there is limited literature on the use of these techniques in the Asian population.This study aims to present two successful cases of nose augmentation using volumizing and cogged threads, providing evidence of their effectiveness and demonstrating the insertion techniques through a supplementary video.Two female patients (aged 26 and 33) underwent nonsurgical nose augmentation. The first patient received volumizing threads to enhance nasal contour, while the second patient received cogged threads to refine the nasal tip and alar base. Both procedures were performed using polydioxanone (PDO) threads, with follow‐ups conducted to assess the outcomes.Both patients exhibited significant improvement in nasal contour and projection, with outcomes maintained for up to 8 months post‐procedure. The patients reported high satisfaction with the aesthetic results, and no complications were observed during the follow‐up period.Volumizing and cogged threads offer a promising nonsurgical alternative for nose augmentation, particularly in patients seeking minimal invasiveness and natural‐looking results. While the initial outcomes are positive, further research is needed to evaluate the long‐term safety and effectiveness of these techniques, especially in the Asian demographic. We explore the potential of libcitations from local research‐oriented and public library catalogues for a study of the societal and cultural impact of books authored by academics from the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH). The study relies on data from the bibliographic database VABB‐SHW, the Flemish public library catalogue Cultuurconnect, and the Belgian research library catalogue UniCat. We find that whereas a majority of academically authored SSH books appear in research‐oriented libraries, the holdings in public libraries are limited. However, libcitations in public libraries are indicative of societal and cultural impact, particularly for books written in the domestic language (in this case Dutch) and books that are not primarily aimed at academic peers (and are not peer‐reviewed). Additionally, we find that the books held in local libraries include different genres and dissemination types, as SSH scholars contribute to the creation of societal and cultural impact in a variety of ways. An overview of the types of books attaining high scores in public and research‐oriented libraries showcases avenues for the creation of societal impact through popularized literature. Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a prevalent condition affecting over 150 million men worldwide. While there is a wealth of publications and research in the field of ED, there is a noticeable scarcity of bibliometric analyses of the literature on this topic. This study aims to analyze the scientific activity and research trends related to ED. We conducted a comprehensive search of the Scopus database to identify potentially relevant studies on ED published from 1841 to November 12, 2022. We used the primary keywords "erectile dysfunction" or "impotence" for the search. Several software tools were employed for data calculation and visualization. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and linear correlation statistical test were used. The main outcomes of interest included the number of publications, year of publication, document type, country of origin, affiliated organizations, and journals of publication. Our search revealed a total of 30,634 publications with a cumulative 657,894 citations in the field of ED literature over the past 18 decades. "Original Article" emerged as the most common document type, accounting for 22,292 records. The United States stood out as the most prolific country, contributing 8809 publications (25% of the total). The University of California in the United States led in research output with 581 publications. Notably, the 'Journal of Sexual Medicine' was the leading publication source, with 1715 publications associated with it. Clinicians and experts in sexual medicine should take authorship trends into account when they review ED articles to improve patient care. A primary strength of our study is that it presents a comprehensive bibliometric review of ED reports spanning 18 decades. Results are limited to ED literature published in the sexual medicine journals and the urology analyzed. The publication volume on ED literature witnessed a substantial increase from 1975 to 2022. The findings from this bibliometric analysis provide valuable insights into research hotspots and emerging trends in the field of ED, which can aid researchers in gaining a better understanding of this topic. The article examines the detrimental effects of current publishing practices in medical research. It highlights the rise of predatory journals, which exploit the pay-to-publish model and undermine the quality and integrity of scientific literature. It critiques the commercialization of scientific publishing, which prioritizes profit over rigorous peer review and quality control, leading to a proliferation of low-quality and potentially misleading research.

Background and Aims: Highly cited papers (HCPs) can influence both research and clinical practice. They help to identify core literature and important advances in a field. This study aimed to assess the current status and prospects of South Asia COVID-19 research from the HCPs using bibliometric indicators. Methodology: COVID-19 literature from South Asia published between December 2019 and 29 November 2023 in the Scopus database was analysed. The top HCPs, having more than 200 citations, were evaluated. Information about citation counts, authors and organisations and their affiliations, year of publication, source journal, geographical origin, subject, article type, funding details, etc. were retrieved and analysed. Data and visualisation analysis was undertaken using Microsoft Excel and other bibliometric software. Results: The 298 South Asia HCPs were published from 2020 to 2023 and were cited 200–3,596 times, with a mean average of 413.9 citations per paper (CPP). Around 24.5% and 51.3% of HCPs received external funding support and were involved in international collaboration, respectively. The most productive organisations were the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, and the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, while the most impactful organisations were Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, Mumbai, and Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute, Mumbai. The most productive journals were Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research & Reviews. Conclusions: This study has identified core and significant authors, organisations, journals, subject fields and significant keywords, collaborators and funding agencies involved in South Asia's COVID-19 research. This article explores the question as to whether images generated by Artificial Intelligence such as DALL-E 2 can be considered artworks. After providing a brief primer on how technologies such as DALL-E 2 work in principle, I give an overview of three contemporary accounts of art and then show that there is at least one case where an AI-generated image meets the criteria for art membership under all three accounts. I suggest that our collective hesitancy to call AI-generated images art stems from the lack of a clear author figure. I propose two possible complementary solutions. First, that some AI-generated images as artworks are conjunctively authored by both the developers of the AI and the prompt-giver. Second, that AI image generators can themselves be considered works of art authored by the developers. Amitav Ghosh's The Hungry Tide operates in the archipelago of the Sunderbans and explores characters who reside in different quadrants of the socio-political map, navigating the difficult nexus between the survival of humans and conservation of the non-human. The key to this navigation is an important, and often ignored, historical event in his fiction—the Marichjhapi massacre of 1979. The massacre was enabled by West Bengal government's primacy on ecology and disregard for the fundamental rights of the people. This massacre and its impact on subsequent generations of that locality have been brushed aside in Indian mainstream history. Events of Marichjhapi have been deemed problematic for both nationalist sentiment and environmental conservation—two things that were of growing popularity during that time. In his narrative of deltas and dolphins, Ghosh manages to carve out the space for such a difficult event regarding people through a literary device that is often personal—a diary. Ghosh's narrativization of the events in Marichjhapi through Nirmal's diary, along with his characterization of local representatives such as Fokir, gives new understandings of the sufferings faced by the marginalized communities and the narrative challenges of relaying their voices—while showing the interconnectivity of people and their environment at large. The article investigates preservice teachers' experiences and perceptions of adopting performance-based assessment (PBA) in literary texts. Topics include the challenges of aligning formative assessment with high-stakes exams, the shift from traditional summative assessments to process-oriented pedagogies, and the benefits of integrating performance-based assessments to enhance student learning and align with educational reforms.

To evidence the existence of a gender gap in the orthopedic scientific literature by including also differences between some specific orthopedic surgery specialities, such as hands and feet. Then, we also considered gender role in the Authorship linked with the economic wealth of each country belonging to each Author. The gender of the first Authors of journals on orthopedics and sports medicine indexing in the Scopus database with the highest impact factor (IF) related to the year 2019, for the period from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2020, were considered. A total of 11 journals were considered, including a total of 5474 articles, 1087 (19.86%) had a woman as the first Author and 4387 (80.14%) a man. During the studied period, the trend seems to be the same (p = 0.906): Men were significantly more producing than women in the orthopedic field both by considering the topic of the journal (p =.003), all the most impacted orthopedic journals (p < 0.001) and economies (p < 0.001). There was therefore a strong significance: In the orthopedic field, there were significantly more male researchers who presented their first name in scientific publications compared to females in all orthopedic subspecialties. This article discusses the work of François de Foix de Candalle and its importance for the early modern Euclidean tradition. It provides an outline of Foix's life, education and career, and it describes in particular his editions of the Elements published in 1566 and 1578. Those editions made substantial additions to the text, increasing the number of ‘books' from fifteen to eighteen: by far the largest addition to the Euclidean text since late antiquity. The article goes on to discuss Foix's intentions and his practices as an editor, and the reception of Foix's Elements. His book XVI remained in print in various languages well into the eighteenth century, making Foix an important and influential contributor to the early modern tradition of the Elements, whose work helps to illustrate the fluidity of that tradition as well as the character of early modern mathematical editorship more generally. Objectives Methods Results Conclusion To analyze gender inequities and trends in the authorship of articles published in high‐impact factor journals of the field of Oral Medicine and Pathology.The gender and country of first and last authors were retrieved from original articles published between 2000 and 2022. Poisson regression models and classification and regression tree (CART) analysis were performed.A total of 6595 studies were analyzed for first authorship, and 6627 for last authorship. Only 39.2% (CI 95% 38.0–40.3) of the first authors and 24.1% (CI 95% 23.1–25.1) of the last authors were females. Females consistently faced underrepresentation throughout the 23‐year evaluation. The only region where female first authors are not a minority is Latin America. Having a female as the last author increased the prevalence of females in the first author position by 42% (PR = 1.42, CI 95% [1.30–1.54]). The most important discriminant variable by CART was the first author region.Although a slight decrease in underrepresentation was noted over the period, after 2020, the gender gap tended to widen for both first and last authors. It is crucial to implement measures aimed at attracting, retaining, and advancing women in the field of science, while also actively monitoring advancements toward achieving gender equity. This article explores the origin of the epigraph in Gertrude Stein's novel "Three Lives," which is attributed to French poet Jules Laforgue. Some scholars have questioned the authenticity of the quotation, but recent discoveries have confirmed that it is indeed Laforgue's. The article suggests that Stein may have encountered the quotation in a 1905 edition of a literary magazine. It also discusses the connection between Stein and Laforgue, highlighting their influence on the Parisian cultural scene of the early 20th century. One of the most prevalent themes in Emeric Pressburger's work as a screenwriter is the 'good German', a character who often represents an enemy country, who is nevertheless depicted sympathetically, or, at the very least, as a morally ambiguous character. Figures of this kind appear throughout his works, including his unpublished novels and unfilmed screenplays. This paper will examine some of these unproduced works and contest that Pressburger's writing was a response to the trauma of Nazism and the Holocaust, which stood in conflict to his largely egalitarian outlook in which he believed that all people had some good attributes. In a radical turn for the Jewish screenwriter, Pressburger uses these late works to attempt to come to terms with the moral implications of the Holocaust, considering if revenge can be justified, to what extent one should forgive, and whether acts of kindness could ever outweigh the crimes a person has committed. Taking the deictic judgment that is the modernist gesture of declaring something to be art as a starting point, this essay suggests an analogous deixis as a necessary condition for literature. This deixis also can serve as the basis for discussing the expectations of computer‐generated texts. Against the idea that computers or AI systems need only produce sufficiently good output in order to be considered authors, the essay proposes an approach that takes the social recognition of the deictic act within a community of judgment as a precondition for authorship. As an alternative to the Turing test, which is based on the paradigm of deception (people are tricked into considering computer‐written text to be written by humans), the essay favors a version of Susan Leigh Star's "Durkheim test," which is based on the paradigm of co‐sociality (people directly recognize computers as social actors). Literary reading is under transformation. Digital devices supplement traditional paper books with e-books and audiobooks, and at the same time, ubiquitous digital connection challenges focused reading. Based on a qualitative interview study with adult leisure readers, this article explores how affordances offered by digital technologies influence reading habits. Informants demonstrate how e-books and audiobooks enhance reading experiences, as digital affordances influence the how and the when of literary consumption. Three prominent findings are stated. (1) Readers adapt reading mode to the situation, and experienced readers have developed strategies to maximise the ultimate combination of title, format and reading conditions. (2) Digital reading favours lighter texts. This dimension is more substantial for audiobooks, relating to the wide choice of combining audiobooks with other activities. (3) Being devoted readers motivates people to develop strategies to ensure further reading. These strategies effectively make readers practically and temporally disconnect to immerse in literature. To use the bibliographic data of publications regarding the association between orofacial cleft (OC) and cancer to examine the implications of publication growth, co-citation, co-words, and authorship networks using bibliometric indicators and network visualization. Bibliometric study analyzed documents related to the association between OC and cancer. Data were obtained in October 2023 from the Scopus, Pubmed, Web of Science. The search strategy was developed, and data obtained were imported into R ("bibliometrix") for analysis. Results: 70 documents were found from 1977 to 2023. Most were journal articles (90.0%) designed as case–control studies (42.8%). American Journal of Epidemiology was the most relevant source. The most cited document was Frebourg T, et al. (2006). Background and Objectives: Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) have significantly influenced medical practice worldwide. Nevertheless, the authorship of CPGs produced by several medical societies has not been representative of the field and population they address, as women and individuals from racial and ethnic minority groups have been underrepresented as authors. We hypothesized that women and individuals from minoritized racial and ethnic groups would also be underrepresented as authors of CPGs produced by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the gender, race, and ethnic composition of authors and subcommittee participants of AAP-produced CPGs published from January 2010 through May 2023 were analyzed and compared to the 2010 and 2021 U.S. population and 2010 and 2022 U.S. medical school pediatric faculty. Results: Women (39.7%, 127/320 of all positions, and 42.5%, 85/200 of named author positions) and women physicians (35.2%, 101/287 of all positions, and 36.4%, 64/176 of named author positions) were significantly underrepresented—while men and men physicians were significantly overrepresented—from their respective composition in the U.S. Census and pediatric faculty. Women and women physicians from all racial and ethnic groups and men and men physicians from minority racial and ethnic groups were significantly underrepresented—from their respective composition in the U.S. Census and pediatric faculty. Enhancing gender diversity at academic conferences is critical for advancing women's representation and career trajectories in spine surgery. To discover trends in women's representation at major spine conferences over a 15-year period. Conference records from the 2007–2021 annual meetings of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and Scoliosis Research Society (SRS). Authors of spine-related presentations. Authorship by gender. Retrospective bibliometric analysis with univariate and multivariate modeling to identify trends and predictors of gender diversity. Among 8,948 presentations, 750 (8.4%) had female first authors and 618 (6.9%) had female senior authors. There was no change in rates of female first authorship (p=.41) or senior authorship (p=.88) over time. The strongest predictors of female first authorship were having a female senior author (OR 7.32, p<.001), and delivering presentations at SRS (OR 1.95, p=.001). Factors negatively associated with female first authorship included poster format (OR 0.82, p=.039) and conference location in the United States/Canada (OR 0.76, p=.045). Similar trends were encountered for senior authorship. Productivity per senior author was similar between genders (p=.160); whereas a gender gap in productivity per first author during 2007 to 2011 (p=.020) equalized by 2017 to 2021 (p=.300). Among the 10 most productive authors of each gender, male authors delivered more presentations, but all authors shared similar format, content, and location. Women's representation in spine-related presentations did not increase at three major conferences over a 15-year period. Our findings regarding the positive effects of female mentorship, and international or virtual venues merit further investigation to address the gender gap. Introduction: Health professions education (HPE) has adopted the conceptualization of validity as an argument. However, the theoretical and practical aspects of how validity arguments should be developed, used and evaluated in HPE have not been deeply explored. Articulating the argumentation theory undergirding validity and validation can help HPE better operationalise validity as an argument. To better understand this, the authors explored how HPE validity scholars conceptualise assessment validity arguments and argumentation, seeking to understand potential consequences of these views on validation practices. Methods: The authors used critical case sampling to identify HPE assessment validity experts in three ways: (1) participation in a prominent validity research group, (2) appearing in a bibliometric study of HPE validity publications and (3) authorship of recent HPE validity literature. Qualitative semi‐structured interviews were conducted with 16 experts in HPE assessment validity from four different countries. The authors used reflexive thematic analysis to develop themes relevant to their research question. Results: The authors developed three themes grounded in participants' responses: (1) In theory, HPE validity is a social and situated argument. (2) In practice, the absence of audience and evaluation stymies the social nature of HPE validity. (3) Lack of validity argumentation creates and maintains power differentials within HPE. Participants articulated that current HPE validation practices are rooted in post‐positivist epistemology when they should be situated (i.e. context‐dependent), audience‐centric and inclusive. Discussion: When discussing validity argumentation in theory, participants' descriptions reflect an interpretivist lens for evaluation that is misaligned with real‐world validity practices. The article examines the meaning of the words Ναζαρέτ and ναζωραῖος in the Fourth Gospel. It argues that the first word plays an important role in the incarnational logic of the Gospel, while the second word is significant for John's Christology. Through the literary device of reader entrapment, John corrects the reader's initial misjudgement that ὁ ναζωραῖος in John 18,5.7; 19,19 depicts Jesus as coming from Nazareth. To explain the Christological significance of this phrase, the article evaluates the thesis that ναζωραῖος characterises Jesus as a Nazirite. In milling processes in which material removal is performed periodically from solid material, dynamic effects are generally considered to be responsible for instabilities and subsequent productivity limits. Usually, in such applications, the process-inherent complex dynamic load spectrum on machines, tools and workpieces is considered together with vibration-based relative displacements that can be attributed to the regenerative effect. There are numerous techniques in the literature addressing the suppression of these dynamic effects, but they require a large amount of analysis and implementation effort as well as specific expert knowledge. The approach presented here, however, provides a universally applicable method for suppressing chatter vibrations and deflections. By applying structure elements to the flanks of the minor cutting edges of HSS end mills, it was possible to increase the chatter-free limiting depth of cut ap,crit in the milling processes of the aluminum alloy EN AW-7075. Structured tools were used in ramp milling tests to investigate various effects, such as the influence of certain geometric design features on the stabilization potential compared to a reference tool. Furthermore, the effects of varied process parameter configurations and wear-related effects on the performance of the tool concept were focused on as well. The three key design features of the cutting edge and the structured profiles were identified from the results of the investigation, which, when combined in the most efficient design, in each case led to the development of an optimized structure and process configuration with cumulative potential for increasing the stability limit up to 200%. Writing is hard for students who are learning English; they often find it challenging to transform what is on their mind in writing. Therefore, this study examined the relationship between the writing test and assessment writing through argumentative writing. Data was analyzed using the correlation test to determine the close relationship between independent and dependent variables. This study involved 100 students from the Department of English Education at the University of Riau, Indonesia. The results showed that the writing test and assessment writing was closely related, as evidenced by the influence and significance between the writing test and assessment writing, which was tested through argumentative writing. The judgment of the Beijing Internet Court recognizing copyrightability of AI-generated images is flawed for three reasons. First, the judgment treats generative AI as a tool of creation akin to a brush, camera or Photoshop. But generative AI is not a passive means for the author to implement the act of creation that directly produce works; instead, it is actively involved in the decision-making process of the substance of the resulting content. Second, the judgment attaches much importance to the creative nature of the text prompts and other inputs of the user of generative AI, while it fails to make the analysis within the framework of the idea/expression dichotomy. Different generative AI systems, and even the same generative AI, may generate completely different images based on exactly the same 'user's inputs'. This fact shows that 'user's inputs' are an unprotectable idea in relation to the outcome of the AI production, because a single creative and original idea may lead to a large number of expressions. Third, while acknowledging that the relationship between generative AI and its users is akin to the relationship between the commissioned party and the commissioner during the creation of a painting, the judgment wrongly attributes user's authorship of AI-generated content to AI's lack of free will and legal personality. Contributor Role Ontologies and Taxonomies (CROTs) provide a standard list of roles to specify individual contributions to research. CROTs most common application has been their inclusion alongside author bylines in scholarly publications. With the recent uptake of CROTs among publishers –particularly the Contributor Role Taxonomy (CRediT)– some have anticipated a positive impact on ethical issues regarding the attribution of credit and responsibilities, but others have voiced concerns about CROTs shortcomings and ways they could be misunderstood or have unintended consequences. Since these discussions have never been consolidated, this review collated and explored published viewpoints about the ethics of CROTs. After searching Ovid Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, 30 papers met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. We identified eight themes and 20 specific issues related to the ethics of CROTs and provided four recommendations for CROT developers, custodians, or others seeking to use CROTs in their workflows, policy and practice: 1) Compile comprehensive instructions that explain how CROTs should be used; 2) Improve the coherence of used terms, 3) Translate roles in languages other than English, 4) Communicate a clear vision about future development plans and be transparent about CROTs' strengths and weaknesses. We conclude that CROTs are not the panacea for unethical attributions and should be complemented with initiatives that support social and infrastructural transformation of scholarly publications. This article contributes to the scholarship on Japanese director Miike Takashi, who has gained increasing international recognition over the past two decades. Through a case study of Miike's manga-inspired live-action film, Crows Zero (2007), I delve into specific aspects of the film's settings, especially poetry and linguistic sings, to explore authorship from a comparative perspective and its manifestation in transmedia adaptation. This analysis draws upon Thomas Leitch's concept of adaptive authorship and rethinks the historical dichotomy between the auteur and the metteur-en-scène , as originally delineated by François Truffaut. By arguing that Miike's role in the film is neither a mere adapter lacking creativity nor a consistent artist, and by highlighting instances of directorial authorship in the film's nuanced details, I question the tendency in film studies that adaptive authorship is often overshadowed by, and eventually integrated into, auteurship to the point where it can only be examined within broader auteurist analyses. Thus, this case study underscores the advantages of an adapter-based approach over an auteurist one, suggesting that moving beyond the doctrines of consistency and coherence may facilitate the identification of authorship from different perspectives. Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the predominant cause of dementia on a global scale, significantly impacting the health of the elderly population. The pathogenesis of AD is closely linked to neuroinflammation. The present study employs a bibliometric analysis to examine research pertaining to neuroinflammation and AD within the last decade, with the objective of providing a comprehensive overview of the current research profile, hotspots and trends. Methods: This research conducted a comprehensive review of publications within the Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection Database spanning the years 2014 to 2024. Bibliometric analyses were performed using VOSviewer (version 1.6.19) and CiteSpace (version 6.3.R1) software to visualize data on countries, institutions, authors, journals, keywords, and references. Results: A total of 3,833 publications on neuroinflammation and AD were included from January 2014 to January 2024. Publications were mainly from the United States and China. Zetterberg, Henrik emerged as the author with the highest publication output, while Edison, Paul was identified as the most cited author. The most productive journal was Journal of Alzheimers Disease, and the most co-cited was Journal of Neuroinflammation. Research hotspot focused on microglia, mouse models, oxidative stress, and amyloid-beta through keyword analysis. Additionally, keywords such as blood-brain barrier and tau protein exhibited prolonged citation bursts from 2022 to 2024. Conclusion: This study provides a comprehensive review of the last 10 years of research on neuroinflammation and AD, including the number and impact of research findings, research hotspots, and future trends. The quantity of publications in this field is increasing, mainly in the United States and China, and there is a need to further strengthen close cooperation with different countries and institutions worldwide. Presently, research hotspots are primarily concentrated on microglia, with a focus on inhibiting their pro-inflammatory responses and promoting their anti-inflammatory functions as a potential direction for future investigations. Within the Department of Medicine (DOM) in a large tertiary academic health care facility in midwestern United States, we have developed an educational offering that incorporates an academic writing program (AWP) blending the approaches of a writing accountability work group, a writing workshop, and didactic writing courses. The purpose of this AWP was to assist healthcare professionals (HCP) with their manuscript writing skills to enhance academic productivity. We report our evolving journey and experiences with this AWP. To date, it has been offered 3 times to 25 HCP over the course of 3 years. Among those responding to a post program follow up survey (N = 11), 8 (73%) indicated that they completed the project that they were working on during the AWP and went on to publish the manuscript (N = 5) or were in the process of submission (N = 2). Some indicated they has also gone on to present posters (N = 2) or were in the process of presenting posters (N = 2) or had received grants (N = 1) or were awaiting grant notice (N = 1). A number of attendees have continued to use and share the tools presented during the AWP. Based on input from attendees and increased requests for this AWP, this educational program has been deemed a success and expansion of this program is currently underway. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
