Abstract This study investigates thermal transport across nanocrystalline diamond/AlGaN (aluminum gallium nitride) interfaces, crucial for enhancing thermal management in AlGaN‐based electronic devices. Chemical vapor deposition growth of diamond directly on AlGaN resulted in a disordered interface with a high thermal boundary resistance (TBR) of 20.6 m2‐KGW−1. Sputtered carbide interlayers of boron carbide (B4C), silicon carbide (SiC), and a mixture of boron carbide and silicon carbide (B4C/SiC) are employed to reduce thermal boundary resistance in diamond/AlGaN interfaces. The carbide interlayers resulted in record‐low thermal boundary resistance values of 3.4 and 3.7 m2‐KGW−1 for Al0.65Ga0.35N samples with B4C and SiC interlayers, respectively. STEM imaging of the interface reveals interlayer thicknesses between 1.7 and 2.5 nm, with an amorphous structure. Additionally, Fast‐Fourier Transform (FFT) characterization of sections of the STEM images displayed sharp crystalline fringes in the AlGaN layer, confirming it is properly protected from damage from hydrogen plasma during the diamond growth. In order to accurately measure the thermal boundary resistance we develop a hybrid technique, combining time‐domain thermoreflectance and steady‐state thermoreflectance fitting, offering superior sensitivity to buried thermal resistances. The findings underscore the efficacy of interlayer engineering in enhancing thermal transport and demonstrate the importance of innovative measurement techniques in accurately characterizing complex thermal interfaces. This study provides a foundation for future research in improving thermal properties of semiconductor devices through interface engineering and advanced measurement methodologies.

An extreme bandgap Al0.64Ga0.36N quantum channel HEMT with Al0.87Ga0.13N top and back barriers, grown by MOCVD on a bulk AlN substrate, demonstrated a critical breakdown field of 11.37 MV/cm—higher than the 9.8 MV/cm expected for the channel’s Al0.64Ga0.36N material. We show that the fraction of this increase is due to the quantization of the 2D electron gas. The polarization field maintains electron quantization in the quantum channel even at low sheet densities, in contrast to conventional HEMT designs. An additional increase in the breakdown field is due to quantum-enabled real space transfer of energetic electrons into high-Al barrier layers in high electric fields. These results show the advantages of the quantum channel design for achieving record-high breakdown voltages and allowing for superior power HEMT devices.

Rationale & Objective: Providing fruits and vegetables (F&Vs) to health care system patients with elevated urine albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR) reduced ACR, slowed chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression and reduced cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors in previous studies. This study evaluated a community-based strategy in lower-income populations to identify African Americans with elevated ACR before health care system involvement and sustain them in a 6-month F&V protocol with (F&V + Cook) and without (F&V Only) cooking instructions, with the hypothesis that adjuvant cooking instructions with F&Vs would further reduce ACR. Study Design: Prospective, randomized, parallel 2-arm design. Setting & Participants: African American adults with ACR >10 mg/g creatinine randomized to 1 of 2 study arms. Interventions: Two cups/day of F&Vs with or without cooking instructions in participants followed 6 months. Outcomes: Participants sustaining the F&V protocol and between-group indicators of CVD risk, kidney injury, and dietary intake at 6 weeks and 6 months. Results: A total of 142 African American adults (mean age, 57.0 years; ACR, 27.4 mg/g; body mass index, 34.4; 24.9% CKD 1; 24.8% CKD 2; 50.4% CKD 3; 55% female) randomized to F&V Only (n=72) or F&V + Cook (n=70), and 71% were retained at 6 months. Participants received 90% of available F&V pick-ups over 6 weeks and 69% over 6 months. In the adjusted model, 6-month ACR was 31% lower for F&V + Cook than F&V Only (P = 0.02). Net 6-week F&V intake significantly increased and biometric variables improved for participants combined into a single group. Limitations: Small sample size, low-baseline ACR, and potential nonresponse bias for 24-hour dietary recall measure. Conclusions: These data support the feasibility of identifying community-dwelling African Americans with ACR indicating elevated CVD and CKD risk and sustaining a F&V protocol shown to improve kidney outcomes and CVD risk factors and provides preliminary evidence that cooking instructions adjuvant to F&Vs are needed to lower ACR. Plain-Language Summary: African Americans, particularly those in low-income communities, have increased rates of chronic kidney disease (CKD) with worsening outcomes over time. Giving fruits and vegetables to individuals with CKD identified in health care systems was previously shown to reduce kidney damage, measured by urine protein albumin, and slow kidney function decline. We recruited African Americans in low-income communities with increased urine albumin levels. They received fruits and vegetables for 6 months, and we tested whether added cooking instructions further reduced urine albumin levels. Most participants continued to receive fruits and vegetables throughout the 6 months. Those given cooking instructions had lower urine albumin levels after 6 months, indicating decreased kidney damage. Providing cooking instructions with fruits and vegetables appears to lessen kidney damage more than just fruits and vegetables alone.

Background Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have a profound negative impact on health. However, the strength of the association between ACEs and pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes is not well quantified or understood.Objective To conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of the association between ACEs and risk of pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes.Search strategy A comprehensive search was conducted using PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, ClinicalTrials.gov and Google scholar up to July 2022.Data collection and analysis Two reviewers independently conducted the screening and quality appraisal using a validated tool. Meta-analysis using the quality-effects model on the reported odds ratio (OR) was conducted. Heterogeneity and inconsistency were examined using the I2 statistics.Results 32 studies from 1508 met a priori inclusion criteria for systematic review, with 21 included in the meta-analysis. Pooled analyses showed that exposure to ACEs increased the risk of pregnancy complications (OR 1.37, 95% CI 1.20 to 1.57) and adverse pregnancy outcomes (OR 1.31, 95% CI 1.17 to 1.47). In sub-group analysis, maternal ACEs were associated with gestational diabetes mellitus (OR 1.39, 95% CI 1.11 to 1.74), antenatal depression (OR 1.59, 95% CI 1.15 to 2.20), low offspring birth weight (OR 1.27, 95% CI 1.02 to 1.47), and preterm delivery (OR 1.41, 95% CI 1.16 to 1.71).Conclusion The results suggest that exposure to ACEs increases the risk of pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Preventive strategies, screening and trauma-informed care need to be examined to improve maternal and child health.

Summary: Background: The aim of this study is to assess the current status of metabolic and behavioural risk factors for cardiovascular diseases among the adult population in South and Southeast Asia using World Health Organization (WHO) STEPS data. Methods: We used WHO STEPS surveys data in ten South and Southeast Asian countries. Weighted mean estimates of prevalence of five metabolic risk factors and four behavioural risk factors were calculated by country and overall region. We used random-effects meta-analysis to generate country and regional pooled estimates of metabolic and behavioural risk factors, using the DerSimonian and Laird inverse-variance method. Finding: Around 48,434 participants aged 18–69 years were included in this study. Overall 32.00% (95% CI: 31.15–32.36) of individuals in the pooled sample had one metabolic risk factor, 22.10% (95% CI: 21.73–22.47) had two, and 12.38% had three or more (95% CI: 9.09–14.00). Twenty-four percent (95% CI: 20.00–29.00) of individuals in the pooled sample had only one behavioural risk factor, 49.00% (95% CI: 42.00–56.00) had two, and 22.00% had three or more (95% CI: 16.00–29.00). Risk of high three or more metabolic risk factors was higher among women, those of older age, and those with a higher education. Interpretation: The existence of multiple metabolic and behavioural risk factors among the South and Southeast Asian population demand appropriate prevention strategies to halt the progress of non-communicable disease burden within the region. Introduction Allergic conditions, such as asthma, hay fever and eczema, are some of the most common conditions impacting children globally. There is a strong incentive to study their determinants to improve their prevention. Asthma, hay fever and eczema are influenced through the same immunological pathway and often copresent in children (‘the atopic march’). Increasing evidence shows a link between infant antibiotic use and the risk of childhood atopic conditions, mediated through gut microbial dysbiosis during immune system maturation, however, the potential for confounding remains. This study will investigate the relationship between infant antibiotic use and risk of allergic conditions in British Columbian and Manitoban children born over 10 years, adjusting for relevant confounders.Methods and analysis Provincial administrative datasets will be linked to perform comparable retrospective cohort analyses, using Population Data BC and the Manitoba Population Research Data Repository. All infants born between 2001 and 2011 in BC and Manitoba will be included (approximately 460 000 and 162 500 infants, respectively), following up to age 7. Multivariable logistic regression will determine the outcome risk by the fifth birthday among children who did and did not receive antibiotics before their first birthday. Clinical, demographic and environmental covariates will be explored, and sensitivity analyses performed to reduce confounding by indication.Ethics and dissemination The University of British Columbia Research Ethics Board (H19-03255) and University of Manitoba Ethics Board (HS25156 (H2021:328)) have approved this study. Data stewardship committees for all administrative datasets have granted permissions, facilitated by Population Data BC and the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy. Permissions from the Canadian Health Infant Longitudinal Development Study are being sought for breastfeeding data (CP185). Findings will be published in scientific journals and presented at infectious disease and respiratory health conferences. A stakeholder committee will guide and enhance sensitive and impactful communication of the findings to new parents.

Summary: Background: Modifiable non-communicable disease (NCD) risk factors are becoming increasingly common among adolescents, with clustering of these risk factors in individuals of particular concern. The aim of this study was to assess global status of clustering of common modifiable NCD risk factors among adolescents. Methods: We used latest available data from nationally representative survey for 140 countries, namely the Global School-based Student Health Survey, the Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children and the longitudinal study of Australian Children. Weighted mean estimates of prevalence with corresponding 95% confidence intervals of nine NCD risk factors - physical inactivity, sedentary behaviour, insufficient fruits and vegetable consumption, carbonated soft drink consumption, fast food consumption, tobacco use, alcohol consumption and overweight/obesity - were calculated by country, region and sex. Findings: Over 487,565 adolescents, aged 11–17 years, were included in this study. According to trend analysis, prevalence of four or more NCD risk factors increased gradually over time. Prevalence of four or more NCD risk factors was 14.8% in 2003–2007 and increased to 44% in 2013–2017, an approximately three-fold increase (44.0%). Similar trends were also observed for three and two risk factors. Large variation between countries in the prevalence of adolescents with four or more risk factors was found in all regions. The country level range was higher in the South-East Asia Region (minimum Sri Lanka = 8%, maximum Myanmar = 84%) than Western Pacific Region (minimum China = 3%, maximum Niue = 72%), European Region (minimum Sweden = 13.9%, maximum Ireland = 66.0%), African Region (minimum Senegal = 0.8%, maximum Uganda = 82.1%) and Eastern Mediterranean Region (minimum Libya = 0.2%, maximum Lebanon = 80.2%). Insufficient vegetable consumption, insufficient fruit consumption and physically inactivity were three of the four most prevalent risk factors in all regions. Interpretation: Our results suggest a high prevalence of four or more NCD risk factors in adolescents globally, although variation was found between countries. Results from our study indicate that efforts to reduce adolescent NCD risk factors and the associated health burden need to be improved. These findings can assist policy makers to target the rollout of country- specific interventions. Funding: None.

Abstract Childhood aggressive behavior (AGG) has a substantial heritability of around 50%. Here we present a genome-wide association meta-analysis (GWAMA) of childhood AGG, in which all phenotype measures across childhood ages from multiple assessors were included. We analyzed phenotype assessments for a total of 328 935 observations from 87 485 children aged between 1.5 and 18 years, while accounting for sample overlap. We also meta-analyzed within subsets of the data, i.e., within rater, instrument and age. SNP-heritability for the overall meta-analysis (AGGoverall) was 3.31% (SE = 0.0038). We found no genome-wide significant SNPs for AGGoverall. The gene-based analysis returned three significant genes: ST3GAL3 (P = 1.6E–06), PCDH7 (P = 2.0E–06), and IPO13 (P = 2.5E–06). All three genes have previously been associated with educational traits. Polygenic scores based on our GWAMA significantly predicted aggression in a holdout sample of children (variance explained = 0.44%) and in retrospectively assessed childhood aggression (variance explained = 0.20%). Genetic correlations (r g ) among rater-specific assessment of AGG ranged from r g = 0.46 between self- and teacher-assessment to r g = 0.81 between mother- and teacher-assessment. We obtained moderate-to-strong r g s with selected phenotypes from multiple domains, but hardly with any of the classical biomarkers thought to be associated with AGG. Significant genetic correlations were observed with most psychiatric and psychological traits (range $$\left| {r_g} \right|$$ r g : 0.19–1.00), except for obsessive-compulsive disorder. Aggression had a negative genetic correlation (r g = ~−0.5) with cognitive traits and age at first birth. Aggression was strongly genetically correlated with smoking phenotypes (range $$\left| {r_g} \right|$$ r g : 0.46–0.60). The genetic correlations between aggression and psychiatric disorders were weaker for teacher-reported AGG than for mother- and self-reported AGG. The current GWAMA of childhood aggression provides a powerful tool to interrogate the rater-specific genetic etiology of AGG.

Agricultural sectors receive US$600 billion per year in government support, providing incentives for GHG emission-intensive production. Here, the authors show that removing this support will not reduce global GHG emissions by much; rather it will need to be radically redirected to contribute to climate change mitigation.

Objectives The objective of this study was to determine the level of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and hypertension (HTN) in Vietnam and to assess the trend and recommend the future direction of prevention research efforts.Design We searched scientific literature, databases including PubMed, EMBASE, CINHAL and Google Scholar; grey literature and reference lists for primary research published, nation database websites between 1 January 2000 and 30 September 2020. We adapted the modified Newcastle Ottawa Scale for assessing the quality of the study, as recommended by the Cochrane Collaboration.Results In total, 83 studies met our inclusion criteria, representing data of approximately 239 034 population of more than 15 years of age in Vietnam. The findings show that prevalence rates varied widely across studies, from 1.0% to 29.0% for T2DM and 2.0% to 47.0% for HTN. For the total study period, pooled prevalence of T2DM and HTN in Vietnam for all studies was 6.0% (95% CI: 4.0% to 7.0%) and 25% (95% CI: 19% to 31%), respectively. Prevalence rate of both T2DM and HTN was higher among the male population compared with female counterpart.Conclusion There is evidence of a rising trend of HTN and T2DM prevalence in Vietnam. Future research should focus on the major drivers, incidence and prognosis of T2DM and HTN. Policy approaches should base upon the trends of T2DM and HTN in Vietnam over the last 20 years and pay more attention on the effective interventions to combat T2DM and HTN. In our study, we included both English and Vietnamese language articles and seems that majority of the articles came from Vietnamese language.PROSPERO registration number CRD42020182959.

Objectives Asthma is one of the greatest health burdens, yet contributors to asthma symptom trajectories are understudied in Australian children. We aimed to assess the trajectories of asthma symptom and their associations with several family environmental factors during the childhood period in Australia.Design Secondary analysis from a cross-sequential cohort study.Setting Nationwide representative data from the ‘Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC)’.Participants Participants from the LSAC birth cohort.Outcome measures Asthma symptom trajectory groups.Methods Asthma symptom presenting as wheezing, family environmental factors and sociodemographic data (2004–2018) were obtained from the LSAC. Group-based trajectory modelling was applied to identify asthma symptom trajectories and multivariable logistic regression models were used to assess the associations between these and environmental factors.Results Of 5107 children in the LSAC cohort, 3846 were included in our final analysis. We identified three distinct asthma symptom trajectories from age 0/1 year to 14/15 years: ‘low/no’ (69%), ‘transient high’ (17%) and ‘persistent high’ (14%). Compared with the ‘low/no’ group, children exposed to ‘moderate and declining’ (relative risk ratio (RRR): 2.22, 95% CI 1.94 to 2.54; RRR: 1.26, 95% CI 1.08 to 1.46) and ‘high and persistent’ prevalence of maternal smoking (RRR: 1.41, 95% CI 1.23 to 1.60; RRR: 1.26, 95% CI 1.10 to 1.44) were at increased risk of being classified into the ‘transient high’ and ‘persistent high’ trajectories of asthma symptom. Persistently bad external dwelling conditions (RRR: 1.27, 95% CI 1.07 to 1.51) were associated with ‘transient high’ trajectory while ‘moderate and increasing’ conditions of cluttered homes (RRR: 1.37, 95% CI 1.20 to 1.56) were associated with ‘persistent high’ trajectory of asthma symptom. Exposure to tobacco smoke inside the house also increased the risk of being in the ‘persistent high’ trajectory group (RRR: 1.30, 95% CI 1.12 to 1.50).Conclusion Poor home environment increased the risk of asthma symptom during childhood. Improving home environment and reducing exposure to tobacco smoke may facilitate a favourable asthma symptom trajectory during childhood.

The Comprehensive Care Initiative (CCI) utilized a quasi-experimental design to evaluate the effects of same room, multi-provider primary care visits on the management of type 2 diabetes (T2D). Patients with T2D were invited to enroll in CCI if they had T2D with glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) >8.0% or T2D with BMI >30. CCI intervention included delivery of comprehensive same room multi-provider visits with a primary care physician, community health worker, pharmacist, dietitian, medical assistant, and licensed social worker at the same appointment. CCI patients were compared with a propensity score matched control group receiving usual care (n = 56, 50 ± 11 years old, 77% female, 41% African American, 95% uninsured). After 6 months, the adjusted average reduction in HbA1c in the CCI group was 0.97% (SE = 0.45) in comparison to 0.05% (SE = 0.20) in the control group ( P = .04). This pilot study showed promising results in lowering HbA1c in an uninsured, ethnic minority population of T2D patients through delivery of comprehensive multi-provider primary care visits.

Objective To examine the prevalence, correlates and sociodemographic inequalities of undiagnosed hypertension in Nepal.Design This study used cross-sectional 2016 Nepal Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) data. Undiagnosed patients with hypertension were defined as an NDHS respondent who was diagnosed as hypertensive (systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg) during the survey, but never took any prescribed anti-hypertensive medicine to lower/control blood pressure and was never identified as having hypertension by a health professional prior the survey. Multiple binary logistic regression analysis was performed, and Concentration Index was measured.Setting Nepal.Participants Adult patients with hypertension.Results Among 3334 patients with hypertension, 50.4% remained undiagnosed during the survey in Nepal. Adjusted model reveals that patients who were male, belonged to households other than the highest wealth quintile, and lived in province 4 and province 5 were at higher risk of remaining undiagnosed for hypertension. Patients who were ≥65 years of age and were overweight/obese were at lower risk of remaining undiagnosed for hypertension. The poor-rich gap was 24.6 percentage points (Q1=64.1% vs Q5=39.6%) and poor:rich ratio was 1.6 (Q1/Q5=1.6) in the prevalence of undiagnosed hypertension. Undiagnosed hypertension was disproportionately higher among lower socioeconomic status groups (Concentration Index, C=−0.18). Inequalities in the prevalence of undiagnosed hypertension further varied across other geographic locations, including place of residence, ecological zones and administrative provinces.Conclusions Undiagnosed hypertension was highly prevalent in Nepal and there were substantial inequalities by sociodemographics and subnational levels. Increasing awareness, strengthening routine screening to diagnose hypertension at primary health service facilities and enactment of social health insurance policy may help Nepal to prevent and control this burden.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is commonly asymptomatic until its late stages, reduces life quality and length, is costly to manage, and is disproportionately prevalent in low-income, African American (AA) communities. Traditional health system strategies that engage only patients with symptomatic CKD limit opportunities to prevent progression to end stage kidney disease (ESKD) with the need for expensive kidney replacement therapy and to reduce risk for their major mortality cause, cardiovascular disease (CVD). Published studies show that giving fruits and vegetables (F&V) to AA with early-stage CKD along with preparation instructions slowed CKD progression. This effective, evidenced-based, and potentially scalable dietary intervention might be a component of a community-based strategy to prevent CKD progression. Design: This study supported by NIH grant (R21DK113440) will test the feasibility of an innovative screening strategy conducted at community-based institutions in low-income AA communities and the ability to intervene in individuals identified to have CKD and increased CVD risk with F&V, with or without preparation instructions. Objectives: The study will prospectively compare changes in urine indices predictive of CKD progression and CVD in participants receiving, compared to those not receiving, preparation instructions along with F&V, six months after the intervention. Discussion: Addressing the challenge of increasing progression of early to more advanced stages of CKD with its increased CVD risk requires development of effective strategies to screen, identify, and intervene with individuals found to have CKD with effective, comparatively inexpensive, community-based, and scalable strategies to prevent CKD progression, particularly in low-income, AA communities. Abstract Objectives: To investigate the prospective association between parental pre‐pregnancy BMI and adult male and female offspring BMI and waist circumference (WC). Methods: Sub‐sample of 2,229 parent‐offspring pairs with parental pre‐pregnancy BMI and offspring BMI and WC at 21 years were used from the MUSP (Mater‐University of Queensland Study of Pregnancy cohort). Multivariable results were adjusted for maternal factors around pregnancy (e.g. gestational weight and smoking during pregnancy) and offspring factors in early life (e.g. birth weight) and at 14 years (e.g. sports participation and mealtime with family). Results: After adjustments for confounders, each unit increase in paternal and maternal BMI, the BMI of young adult offspring increased by 0.33kg/m2 and 0.35kg/m2, and the WC increased by 0.76 cm and 0.62 cm, respectively. In the combination of parents' weight status, offspring at 21 years were six times the risk being overweight/obese (OW/OB) when both parents were OW/OB, compared to offspring of healthy weight parents. Conclusions: Prenatal parental BMI are independently related to adult offspring BMI and WC. Implications: Both prenatal paternal‐maternal weight status are important determinants of offspring weight status in long‐term. Further studies are warranted to investigate the underlying mechanisms.

Adolescent obesity and depression are increasingly prevalent and are currently recognised as major public health concerns worldwide. The aim of this study is to evaluate the bi-directional associations between obesity and depression in adolescents using longitudinal studies. A systematic literature search was conducted using Pubmed (including Medline), PsycINFO, Embase, CINAHL, BIOSIS Preview and the Cochrane Library databases. According to the inclusion criteria, 13 studies were found where seven studies evaluated depression leading to obesity and six other studies examined obesity leading to depression. Using a bias-adjusted quality effects model for the meta-analysis, we found that adolescents who were depressed had a 70% (RR 1.70, 95% CI: 1.40, 2.07) increased risk of being obese, conversely obese adolescents had an increased risk of 40% (RR 1.40, 95% CI: 1.16, 1.70) of being depressed. The risk difference (RD) of early adolescent depression leading to obesity is 3% higher risk than it is for obesity leading to depression. In sensitivity analysis, the association between depression leading to obesity was greater than that of obesity leading to depression for females in early adulthood compared with females in late adolescence. Overall, the findings of this study suggest a bi-directional association between depression and obesity that was stronger for female adolescents. However, this finding also underscores the importance of early detection and treatment strategies to inhibit the development of reciprocal disorders.

Background: Bangladesh is one among the few countries of the world that provides free medical services at the community level through various public health facilities. It is now evident that, clients' perceived quality of services and their expectations of service standards affect health service utilization to a great extent. The aim of the study was to develop and validate the measures for perception and satisfaction of primary health care quality in Bangladesh context and to identify their aspects on the utilization status of the Community Clinic services.Methods: This mixed method cross sectional survey was conducted from January to June 2012, in the catchment area of 12 community clinics. Since most of the outcome indicators focus mainly on women and children, women having children less than 2 years of age were randomly assigned and interviewed for the study purpose. Data were collected through FGD, Key informants interview and a pretested semi- structured questionnaire.Results: About 95 % of the respondents were Muslims and 5 % were Hindus. The average age of the respondents was 23.38 (SD 4.15) and almost all of them are home makers. The average monthly expenditure of their family was 95US $ (SD 32US$). At the beginning of the study, two psychometric research instruments; 24 items perceived quality of primary care services PQPCS scale (chronbach's α = .89) and 22 items community clinic service satisfaction CCSS scale (chronbach's α = .97), were constructed and validated. This study showed less educated, poor, landless mothers utilized the community clinic services more than their educated and wealthier counterpart. Women who lived in their own residence used the community clinic services more frequently than those who lived in a rental house. Perceptions concerning skill and competence of the health care provider and satisfaction indicating interpersonal communication and attitude of the care provider were important predictors for community clinic service utilization. Perception related to the quality of management, administration, physical environment of the service point and satisfaction addressing health promotion and women health issues played significant role on community clinic's services utilization.Conclusions: Besides parental education and income, client's perception and satisfaction played significant role in community clinic service utilization. Provider's perception of service quality should be studied. The study findings will enable policy-makers to improve quality of primary health care services, realizing providers' and patients' ideas of community clinic service quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We report on a study of UVC photonics integrated circuit consisting of monolithically integrated AlxGa1−xN multiple quantum wells based light-emitting diodes, detectors and channel waveguides on sapphire substrates. The waveguide stack consisted of a 1.5 μm thick n-Al0.65Ga0.35N waveguide over an AlN (3.5 μm thick) clad layer. Using the integrated devices, we estimated the multi-mode ridge waveguide losses to be 23 cm−1 at λemission ∼ 280 nm. We also measured that approximately 80% of the guided light was confined in the n+-Al0.65Ga0.35N layer, 7% in the underlying AlN cladding and the remaining 13% in the double-side polished sapphire substrate. We report on Al0.65Ga0.35N/Al0.4Ga0.6N metal oxide semiconductor heterojunction field-effect transistor (MOSHFET) with high-k ZrO2 gate-dielectric deposited using atomic layer deposition process. As extracted from frequency dependent capacitance–voltage (CV) characteristics, the oxide gates resulted in an interfacial state trap density of ∼2 × 1012 cm−2. A comparative study, on the same material, shows the gate-leakage current of the ZrO2 MOSHFETs to be lower by five orders; their ON/OFF current ratio (∼107) to be higher by about four orders and their threshold voltage to decrease (less negative) by 3.5 V with respect to the Schottky gate devices. We report the first study of current collapse in ultra-wide bandgap high-Al AlGaN channel heterostructure field-effect transistors (HFETs) using short-pulse biasing. Our results show that, under applied pulsed gate and drain voltages, the current collapse results from increased resistance of the source- gate and gate-drain regions but not from the channel under the gate. We also show that passivation of access regions of the high-Al channel HFET with SiNx results in significant reduction in current collapse. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper seeks to unearth the factors affecting the adoption of mobile banking in Bangladesh. Primary data from 630 respondents are collected from January 2021 to June 2021 using a structured questionnaire to accomplish this objective. The questionnaire contains 20 statements regarding the adoption of mobile banking. Gathered data are tabulated, categorized, and arranged to fulfill the purpose. The convenience sampling method is used to choose respondents from the Pabna district in Bangladesh. The collected data are examined using exploratory factor analysis, KMO and Bartlett testing, and reliability testing. Findings confirm that risk, the convenience of use, ease of access, cost, and comparative advantage are important factors influencing mobile banking usage in Bangladesh. Risk is the most prominent factor for mobile banking’s presence in Bangladesh. Regulatory authorities and banks should emphasize the above-mentioned factors to reach the target market to fulfill their objectives. This research should help managers and the central bank develop more precise policies to expand services for mobile banking based on these factors to achieve the goal of financial inclusion. The study is conducted based on primary data from only one district under a time constraint.
