Bipolar dc distribution systems face imbalances in voltages when unbalanced loads are connected at the outputs. To address imbalances in bipolar voltage levels, dedicated voltage balancers are required. However, they add extra active and/or passive components; including, magnetics, capacitors, etc. This increases the cost, reduces the conversion efficiency, and power density of dual-output converters. Therefore, to tackle the imbalances in output voltages without adding any extra active and/or passive components, this article presents coupled inductor (CI) based voltage balancing in dual-output CLL resonant converter. The main features of the proposed method are as follows: since CI is the result of already present resonant inductors of CLL tank circuit, therefore, it does not require extra magnetic components to balance the output voltages; with no additional components, it does not increase the magnetic volume, component count, cost, and complexity of the converter; due to the direct coupling, a half of circuit inductances are integrated to achieve the respective resonant inductance of the tank circuit; and it can also avoid complex control schemes applied to voltage balancing. Besides, with the proposed CI, the CLL converter maintains all of its good features including; zero-voltage and zero-current-switching (ZVZCS). The detailed analysis of the proposed CI with different load conditions is discussed. Moreover, LLC or Type-12 resonant tank circuit is presented to validate ZVZCS operation in the reverse power flow condition. This paper proposes an integrated current balancing (ICB) cells‐based input parallel output parallel (IPOP) bidirectional CLLC modules. The IPOP system based on the CLLC modules inherent all of the good features of a single CLLC module including zero‐voltage and zero‐current switching (ZVZCS) for the inverter and rectifier stage. Besides, the IPOP configuration is a better approach to utilize low‐power rating modules for high‐power applications. However, tolerances in the tank circuit parameters cause an acute imbalance in modules currents. Therefore, the equal power distribution among the IPOP CLLC modules is an important issue that needs to be addressed. Different control and passive current sharing techniques have been proposed, but they cause increase in component count, cost, complexity, and magnetic volume of the IPOP converters. This paper integrates the already present resonant inductors of the bidirectional CLLC modules to evenly share the two currents at the input as well as at the output of the converters under the open‐loop condition with substantial tolerances of ±10%$ \pm \;10\;\% $ in the tank circuit parameters. Moreover, the proposed ICB cells generate sufficient resonant inductances for the respective tank circuits, simultaneously. No additional active or passive components are introduced in the system; thus, it does not increase the cost, complexity, and magnetic volume of the IPOP CLLC modules. Two types of cores (UU‐ and EE‐cores) based ICB cells are analysed with current sharing performance. The input-parallel output-parallel (IPOP) connected converter system allows the use of a low-power converter module for high-power applications. However, mismatches in the IPOP circuit parameters cause uneven current sharing between the constituent modules, which makes the IPOP system unreliable for practical use. Different techniques have been proposed so far; however, they cause an increase in magnetic volume, cost, component count, and complexity of the IPOP system. In this article, a reliable and efficient magnetic integration technique is proposed for the current sharing requirements of the IPOP system based on LLC resonant converter modules. The proposed integrated magnetic current balancing transformer (ICBT) based IPOP LLC resonant converter modules ensures both the input current sharing and output current sharing between constituent LLC modules, under the open-loop condition quite effectively. The proposed ICBT is the resonant inductors of LLC resonant converter modules, coupled to perform the function of current balancing as well as generates enough leakage inductances for resonance operation, simultaneously. Thus, it can reduce the overall magnetic volume and improves power density of the IPOP LLC modules. Moreover, the current sharing performances of the proposed ICBT in both the steady-state and dynamic-state are analyzed based on the magnetic and electrical model. In this paper, the concept of phase modulated MIMO radars is explained and demonstrated with a 28-nm CMOS fully integrated 79-GHz radar SoC. It includes two transmitters, two receivers, and the mm-wave frequency generation. The receivers’ outputs are digitized by on-chip ADCs and processed by a custom designed digital core, which performs correlation and accumulation with a pseudorandom sequence used in transmission. The SoC consumes 1 W to achieve 7.5 cm range resolution. A module with antennas allows for 5° resolution over ±60° elevation and azimuth scan in 2 $\times $ 2 code domain MIMO operation. A 4 $\times $ 4 MIMO system is also demonstrated by means of two SoCs mounted on the same module. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lattice Reduction aided soft output MIMO detectors (LR-SOMD) have been demonstrated to offer a promising gain. This work explores the potential of implementing a LR-SOMD on a parallel programmable baseband processor. In this paper, first a LR algorithm called the Data Regularized Parallel Lattice Reduction algorithm (DRP-LR) is proposed. Afterwards, a low-complexity LR-SOMD, Radius Constrained Multi-Tree Selective Spanning (RC-MTSS) is presented. RC-MTSS uses a novel multiple-tree search approach for LR-SOMD, while combining the benefits of Sphere Detection (SD) and Selective Spanning with Fast Enumeration (SSFE). A fixed complexity LR-SOMD, Multi-Tree Selective Spanning (MTSS) is also proposed for implementation. Both the algorithms, DRP-LR and MTSS, are enabled to exploit data level parallelism (DLP) and instruction level parallelism (ILP). In order to evaluate performance, the proposed DRP-LR and MTSS are implemented on the ADRES baseband processor for a 4 \times 4 LTE system using QAM-64. DRP-LR achieves an average throughput of 33.33 M LR per second, which is comparable to recently reported ASIC implementations, while MTSS shows an average throughput of 730 Mbps on the same processor. Urban search and rescue missions require rapid intervention to locate victims and survivors in the affected environments. To facilitate this activity, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been recently used to explore the environment and locate possible victims. In this paper, a UAV equipped with multiple complementary sensors is used to detect the presence of a human in an unknown environment. A novel human localization approach in unknown environments is proposed that merges information gathered from deep-learning-based human detection, wireless signal mapping, and thermal signature mapping to build an accurate global human location map. A next-best-view (NBV) approach with a proposed multi-objective utility function is used to iteratively evaluate the map to locate the presence of humans rapidly. Results demonstrate that the proposed strategy outperforms other methods in several performance measures such as the number of iterations, entropy reduction, and traveled distance. SARS-CoV-2 causes Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), an infectious condition that can present none or one or more of these symptoms: fever, cough, headache, sore throat, loss of taste and smell, aches, fatigue and musculoskeletal pain. For the prevention of COVID-19, there are vaccines available including those developed by Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac, Janssen, and AstraZeneca. Recent evidence has shown that some COVID-19-vaccinated individuals can occasionally develop as a potential side effect Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), a severe neurological autoimmune condition in which the immune response against the peripheral nerve system (PNS) can result in significant morbidity. GBS had been linked previously to several viral or bacterial infections, and the finding of GBS after vaccination with certain COVID-19, while rare, should alert medical practitioners for an early diagnosis and targeted treatment.
