In this study, nonparametric statistical trend analysis is conducted to assess trends in water quality time series. For the analysis, the Seasonal Kendall Trend Test is used, together with other auxiliary statistical tests. The methodology is applied to water quality time series from the Be§degirmen monitoring station situated on the Porsuk stream, the largest tributary of the Sakarya River. Together with flow, seven water quality parameters are investigated and their trends from 1983 to 2000 are determined. It is found that the stream water quality has improved for suspended solids and the nitrogen species but become worse in terms of other water quality variables, indicating that the pollution of this important water course is continuing., Bu çalışmada, su kalitesi zaman serilerinde eğilimlerin saptanması için parametrik olmayan eğilim analizi uygulanmıştır. Analizler için, diğer istatistiksel testlerin yanısıra, Mevsimsel Kendall Eğilim Testi kullanılmıştır.
