This study examined the determinants of sustained physical activity. Eighty-four participants undertook a 7-weeks walking regime (i.e., a 1-h biometrically-monitored walk, at least 5 days/week), with bioelectrical impedance (BIA) and total cholesterol capillary blood measurements performed before and after programme. To investigate behavioural habit formation, 7 weeks after walking termination, all participants were interviewed and (health) re-tested. Data were modelled with an artificial neural network (ANN) cascading algorithm. Our results highlight the successful prediction of continued physical activity by considering one’s physical fitness state, the environmental living context, and risk for cardiovascular disease. Importantly, those artificial neural network models also taking body mass index (BMI) and blood cholesterol as predictors excel at predicting walking continuation (i.e., predictions with 93% predictability). These results are first to highlight the type and importance of available physiological drivers in maintaining a sustained physical activity regime such as walking. They are discussed within the framework of habit formation and the nowadays health and/or wellbeing focus.

This paper explores the relationship between transactive memory systems (TMS) and organizational performance through a bibliometric analysis. The analysis examines publications in the Web of Science database from 1975 to 2023, focusing on those that connect TMS with knowledge and performance in an organizational context. The results reveal a growing interest in TMS research, particularly since 2010. The analysis identifies key concepts such as team performance, knowledge management, and intellectual capital. It highlights the increasing importance of managing intangible resources like knowledge in the digital age. The findings suggest a strong link between well-developed TMS and improved organizational performance. TMS facilitates knowledge sharing, expertise utilization, and team coordination, ultimately leading to better outcomes like innovation, efficiency, and creativity. The paper concludes that TMS represents a strategic management resource, especially for knowledge-intensive organizations. From 2010 to 2013 tests were conducted with entomopathogenic bioproduct based on Beauveria brongniartii, in nurseries of the Botosani, Neamt and Suceava Forest Departments. At RDPP Bucharest a technology for multiplication on nutrtive solid substrate of entomopathogenic fungus B. brongniartii was developed, on the basis of which the experimental bioinsecticide BioMelCon (G) was obtained. Soil treatments were performed with the BioMelCon (G) in doses ranging from 100 to200 kg/ha. The tested dosages were achieved by applying two treatments per year. Application of biological product held generally early spring on surfaces free from crops, to ensure a uniform distribution and to create the possibility of periodic inspection of the treatment effect by soil surveys. Checking the effectiveness of treatment was carried out in several stages, in different site conditions. The paper presents results concerning the effect of applying several biological treatments on Melolontha melolontha larvae (L2-L3). The cumulative effect of the biological product and the agricultural practices of experimental fields have led to a decreased density of larval populations under economic threshold level.

The overall objective of the method presented was to investigate the endophytic potential of an autochthonous strain of Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin (Ascomycota: Hypocreales), isolated from a natural outbreak and maintained in the RDIPP Bucharest Collection of entomopathogenic microorganisms, for evaluation of its biological control potential. For this experiment, young plants of Capsicum anuum L. (Solanaceae) were planted in pots with pre-sterilized soil. The inoculation was done by watering plants with a spore-based liquid suspension (soil drench method) formulated at a concentration of 6x109 UFC / ml, using a B. bassiana strain isolated from Lymantria dispar L. (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae). The assessment was made after one month from the application of the inoculum, by determining the colonization of the tested fungus in the roots, stem and leaves. Plant tissue colonization was assessed through re-isolation of B. bassiana. The tested B. bassiana strain had colonized plants at a rate of 68%, including foliage-level. The highest incidence of colonization was observed in absorbing roots, and the lowest was observed in the leaves.
