Nostoc commune (Nostoc commune Vaucher ex Born & Flahault) is widely distributed in grasslands within the subtropical region. Because of its morphological changes are more sensitive to moisture, it may affect the soil’s response to infiltration-runoff processes, thus significantly influencing soil moisture dynamics, runoff, and soil loss. However, the exact effects of this phenomenon are not yet fully understood. This study established a one-year monitoring experiment of soil moisture, runoff and soil erosion in the karst area of Southwest China from September 2021 to November 2022. Using bare soil (CK) as the control, two treatments of Nostoc commune cover at 100 % coverage (C1) and 50 % coverage (C2) were set up in 3 repetitions to investigate the shallow soil’s response to Nostoc commune cover and rainfall and to quantify the effects of land cover and rainfall type on runoff and soil loss. The results showed that Nostoc commune cover significantly increased the shallow-soil water content, and the effect of increasing soil water content was more significant with increasing coverage. The cumulative soil water increment (CSWI) varied greatly under different types of rainfall due to the high water-absorbing capacity of Nostoc commune. The CSWI showed C1 C2 > CK under heavy rain and rainstorm events. The temporal pattern of soil moisture changed greatly under different cover treatments and rainfall events. In particular, the response time under different rainfall types varied from 10 min to 250 min. The runoff depth and soil loss in CK were 1.19–2.15 times and 1.92–14.43 times that of C1 and C2, respectively. This indicates that Nostoc commune cover has a significant effect on controlling runoff and soil erosion. In addition, the sensitivity of runoff and soil loss to the maximum 10-min rainfall intensity was higher than that of the maximum 30-min rainfall intensity, which was attributed to the rapid swelling of Nostoc commune in the hydration process, which greatly reduced runoff and soil erosion. This study can contribute to further understanding the hydrological process and soil erosion characteristics under different surface covers in humid karst areas.

BackgroundThe existence of chronic pain increases susceptibility to virus and is now widely acknowledged as a prominent feature recognized as a major manifestation of long-term coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is imperative to explore the genetic associations between chronic pain and predisposition to COVID-19.MethodsWe conducted genetic analysis at the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), gene, and molecular levels using summary statistics of genome-wide association study (GWAS) and analyzed the drug targets by summary data-based Mendelian randomization analysis (SMR) to alleviate the multi-site chronic pain in COVID-19. Additionally, we performed a latent causal variable (LCV) method to investigate the causal relationship between chronic pain and susceptibility to COVID-19.ResultsThe cross-trait meta-analysis identified 19 significant SNPs shared between COVID-19 and chronic pain. Coloc analysis indicated that the posterior probability of association (PPH4) for three loci was above 70% in both critical COVID-19 and COVID-19, with the corresponding top three SNPs being rs13135092, rs7588831, and rs13135092. A total of 482 significant overlapped genes were detected from MAGMA and CPASSOC results. Additionally, the gene ANAPC4 was identified as a potential drug target for treating chronic pain (P=7.66E-05) in COVID-19 (P=8.23E-03). Tissue enrichment analysis highlighted that the amygdala (P=7.81E-04) and prefrontal cortex (P=8.19E-05) as pivotal in regulating chronic pain of critical COVID-19. KEGG pathway enrichment further revealed the enrichment of pleiotropic genes in both COVID-19 (P=3.20E-03,Padjust=4.77E-02,hsa05171) and neurotrophic pathways (P=9.03E-04,Padjust =2.55E-02,hsa04621). Finally, the latent causal variable (LCV) model was applied to find the genetic component of critical COVID-19 was causal for multi-site chronic pain (P=0.015), with a genetic causality proportion (GCP) of was 0.60.ConclusionsIn this study, we identified several functional genes and underscored the pivotal role of the inflammatory system in the correlation between the paired traits. Notably, heat shock proteins emerged as potential objective biomarkers for chronic pain symptoms in individuals with COVID-19. Additionally, the ubiquitin system might play a role in mediating the impact of COVID-19 on chronic pain. These findings contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the pleiotropy between COVID-19 and chronic pain, offering insights for therapeutic trials.

Observational studies have reported high comorbidity between obesity and severe COVID-19. The aim of this study is to explore whether genetic factors are involved in the co-occurrence of the two traits. Based on the available genome-wide association studies (GWAS) summary statistics, we explored the genetic correlation and performed cross-trait meta-analysis (CPASSOC) and colocalization analysis (COLOC) to detect pleiotropic single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). At the genetic level, we obtained genes detected by Functional mapping and annotation (FUMA) and the Multi-marker Analysis of GenoMic Annotation (MAGMA). Potential functional genes were further investigated by summary-data-based Mendelian randomization (SMR). Finally, the casualty was identiied using the latent causal variable model (LCV). A significant positive genetic correlation was revealed between obesity and COVID-19. We found 331 shared genetic SNPs by CPASSOC and 13 shared risk loci by COLOC. At the genetic level, We obtained 3546 pleiotropic genes, among which 107 genes were found to be significantly expressed by SMR. Lastly, we observed these genes were mainly enriched in immune pathways and signaling transduction. These indings could provide new insights into the etiology of comorbidity and have implications for future therapeutic trial.

Background This study was performed to construct and validate an early risk warning model of urinary tract infection in patients with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD). Methods Eligible patients with NLUTD admitted to Shenzhen Longcheng hospital from January 2017 to June 2021 were recruited for model construction, internal validation and external validation. The first time point of data collection was within half a month of patients first diagnosed with NLUTD. The second time point was at the 6-month follow-up. The early warning model was constructed by logistic regression. The model prediction effects were validated using the area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic curve, the Boostrap experiment and the calibration plot of the combined data. The model was externally validated using sensitivity, specificity and accuracy. Results Six predictors were identified in the model, namely patients ≥65 years old (OR = 2.478, 95%CI [1.215– 5.050]), female (OR = 2.552, 95%CI [1.286–5.065]), diabetes (OR = 2.364, 95%CI) [1.182–4.731]), combined with urinary calculi (OR = 2.948, 95%CI [1.387–6.265]), indwelling catheterization (OR = 1.988, 95%CI [1.003 –3.940]) and bladder behavior training intervention time ≥2 weeks (OR = 2.489, 95%CI [1.233–5.022]); and the early warning model formula was Y = 0.907 × age+ 0.937 × sex + 0.860 × diabetes +1.081 × combined with urinary calculi+ 0.687 × indwelling catheterization+ 0.912 × bladder behavior training intervention time-2.570. The results show that the area under the ROC curve is 0.832, which is close to that of 1,000 Bootstrap internal validation (0.828). The calibration plot shows that the early warning model has good discrimination ability and consistency. The external validation shows the sensitivity is 62.5%, the specificity is 100%, and the accuracy is 90%. Conclusion The early warning model for urinary tract infection in patients with NLUTD is suitable for clinical practice, which can provide targeted guidance for the evaluation of urinary tract infection in patients with NLUTD.

IntroductionAs a new and efficient method for obstacle removal, laser clearance has promising applications in eliminating tree obstacles in transmission lines. This paper aims to explore various aspects related to the laser ablation of tree obstacles in transmission lines through simulation and experimentation.MethodsThis paper employs simulation and experimentation to test the ignition time, burn-through time, peak temperature, and basic carbonization rate of various types of tree obstacles in transmission lines. Additionally, it analyzes the effects of tree density, laser power, clearance distance, and tree moisture content on laser ablation characteristics.ResultsThe results reveal that different types of tree obstacles exhibit distinct ablation characteristics. With increasing tree density, both the ignition and burn-through times increase, while the peak temperature and basic carbonization rate decrease. Additionally, laser power and clearance distance significantly influence laser ablation behavior. Higher laser energy density results in greater heat flux density, leading to shorter ignition and burn-through times and higher peak temperatures and carbonization rates. Moreover, the tree obstacle with the highest moisture content (58.4%) had the shortest burn-through time of 46.56 s, whereas the one with the lowest moisture content (14.8%) took the longest at 58.41 s, which demonstrates that increased moisture content enhances the laser ablation rate.DiscussionThese findings provide a basis for the application of laser-based tree obstacle removal in power transmission lines. The understanding of how different factors such as tree density, laser power, clearance distance, and moisture content affect the laser ablation process can help in optimizing the laser clearance operations for more efficient removal of tree obstacles in transmission lines.

In light of the issues associated with the laying process of transmission line cables, including concealed security risks and contact collisions between pulleys and cables, which primarily stem from reliance on drawings, this paper introduces a simulation methodology for the cable laying construction process utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. Initially, two-dimensional DWG graphic data are employed to develop a model of the target equipment and construction environment using BIM software (Solid works 2020). Subsequently, the cable is accurately modeled by applying ADAMS virtual prototype technology, the bushing force connection method, and the macro command language. This allows for the construction of a three-dimensional real cable laying system for transmission lines, enabling the simulation of the dynamic cable laying process in the field. Subsequently, an error analysis is conducted to compare the axial tension and laying speed of the cable with theoretical calculation values. The study then proceeds to analyze tension fluctuations during the cable laying process and assess the load-bearing capacity of the pulleys, thus facilitating effective control of the construction process and enhancing safety measures. The findings indicate that the proposed method can accurately and efficiently simulate the on-site cable laying construction process, with numerical errors maintained below 5%, thereby validating the integrity of the model. Furthermore, the traction overload safety protection amplification coefficient is determined to be α = 1.5. It is highlighted that the bearing capacity of the block must exceed 60% of the load carried by the conductor at constant speed. This research provides a theoretical foundation for addressing safety hazards in cable laying engineering and holds certain engineering value.

The occurrence of tree flash faults in hybrid overhead–underground lines presents a significant challenge to the smooth operation of power systems. However, research on localizing such faults is relatively scarce. This study conducts theoretical analyses on the formation of tree flash faults, constructs a tree flash fault discharge test platform, and simulates the discharge process. The tree flash fault discharge traveling wave signals were obtained through a high-frequency current acquisition system. Additionally, this paper establishes a model for the current traveling wave of tree flash faults and analyzes transmission attenuation. To enhance the bi-terminal traveling wave localization method, we introduce modal decomposition and the Hilbert–Huang transform. Modal decomposition is used to disentangle signals and derive the instantaneous frequencies of modal signal components through the Hilbert–Huang transform. This process helps determine the time at which the initial wavefront reaches the terminals of the mixed-line transmission. The simulation analysis carried out using PSCAD/EMTDC v4.6.3 demonstrates that this method effectively calibrates the wavefront timing of tree flash fault signals without requiring knowledge of their wave velocity along the mixed-line transmission. Therefore, this approach achieves precise localization of tree flash faults efficiently.

Single-crystal beta-MnO2 nanotubes with diameters in the range 200-500 nm and lengths up to several micrometers were successfully prepared by a simple hydrothermal method through oxidizing MnSo4 with NaClO3 in the presence of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP). The family of nanotubes offers a possible new, general route to one-dimensional single-crystalline nanotubes of other materials.

This study focuses on the semiconductive silicone rubber of 10 kV cold-shrink accessories. Accelerated thermal aging tests were conducted on the semiconductive silicone rubber, obtaining tensile stress–strain curves at various time points after thermal aging. The corresponding parameters of the Yeoh hyperelastic model were calculated. The results indicate that the initial shear modulus of the samples decreases with the increase in the aging temperature and time. Microscopic morphology, changes in cross-sectional content, thermal residual values, and chemical structure changes of the samples after aging were studied using electron microscopy, EDS testing, TG curves, and Fourier spectra. The results show that the surface roughness of the aged semiconductive silicon rubber increases, the residual values decrease, the thermal stability decreases, the main chain absorbance decreases, the main chain integrity decreases, and the organic functional groups Si-CH3 and Si(CH3)2 decrease, leading to a reduction in organic content.

In this paper, we focus on the numerical solution of the second kind of Volterra integral equation with a highly oscillatory Fourier kernel. Based on the calculation of the modified moments, we propose four collocation methods to solve the equations: direct linear interpolation, direct higher order interpolation, direct Hermite interpolation and piecewise Hermite interpolation. These four methods are simple to construct and can quickly compute highly oscillatory integrals involving Fourier functions. We present the corresponding error analysis and it is easy to see that, in some cases, our proposed method has a fast convergence rate in solving such equations. In some cases, our proposed methods have significant advantages over the existing methods. Some numerical experiments demonstrating the efficiency of the four methods are also presented.

BackgroundStudies have reported that empathy had a positive effect on professional identity (PI) in nursing students. However, little was known about the mechanism underlying this relationship between empathy and professional identity in nursing students.ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to analyze in depth the mediating effect of workplace violence (WVP) between empathy and professional identity in nursing students.MethodsA total of 405 nursing students participated and were investigated using the Chinese version of the Jefferson Scale of Empathy-Health Professional (JSE-HP), the scale of professional identity about nursing students, and the workplace violence Incident Survey in this study. Hierarchical regression was used to analyze the mediating effect of workplace violence on the relationship between empathy and professional identity among nursing students.ResultsThe score of nursing students' professional identity was 103.69 ± 17.79. Workplace violence had a significant negative correlation with empathy (r = −0.449, P < 0.001) and professional identity (r = −0.330, P < 0.001). Workplace violence accounted for 14.59% of the total mediating effect on the relationship between empathy and professional identity for nursing students.ConclusionsIn this study, the level of professional identity of nursing students was low. Workplace violence had a partially significantly mediating effect on the relationship between empathy and professional identity. Maybe, it was suggested that nursing students' professional identity might be improved and driven by a decrease in workplace violence. Targeted interventions at reducing nursing students' workplace violence should be developed and implemented. In addition, nursing managers and educators should be aware of the importance of empathy and improve professional identity in nursing students.

The adequate interfacial pressure of silicone rubber in cable intermediate joints is a basic condition to ensure the normal operation of cable joints, while high temperature and ageing in the operation of actual cables and accessories would affect the magnitude of interfacial pressure. The uniaxial tensile force of two different silicone rubbers for 10 kV cold-shrink joints at different temperatures and thermal ageing times was measured by experiment, and the Yeoh rubber intrinsic structure model was fitted according to the measured data. The material model was embedded into a two-dimensional axisymmetric finite element simulation model of the structure, and the relationship between the interference, temperature, thermal ageing time and interfacial pressure was investigated. The results show that the interfacial pressure increases linearly with the increase in interference. At the same interference, the interfacial pressure at the root of insulating silicone rubber and semiconducting silicone rubber increased by 9.1%, 12.3%, 6.4% and 9.2%, 16.3%, 5.6%, respectively, at 50, 75, and 100 °C compared with room temperature, and the largest interfacial pressure of cable joints was at 75 °C. Using the established ageing life prediction model based on the Arrhenius principle, the service life of the accessories was predicted to be 28.9 years at 90 °C of operating temperature and interfacial pressure greater than 55% of initial interfacial pressure.

BackgroundPatients after kidney transplantation need to take long-term immunosuppressive and other drugs. Some of these drug side effects are easily confused with the symptoms of Fanconi syndrome, resulting in misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis, and causing serious consequences to patients. Therefore, improving awareness, early diagnosis and treatment of Fanconi syndrome after kidney transplantation is critical.MethodsThis retrospective study analyzed 1728 cases of allogeneic kidney transplant patients admitted to the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from July 2016 to January 2021. Two patients with Fanconi syndrome secondary to drugs, adefovir dipivoxil (ADV) and tacrolimus, were screened. We summarized the diagnostic process, clinical data, and prognosis.ResultsThe onset of Fanconi syndrome secondary to ADV after renal transplantation was insidious, and the condition developed after long-term medication (>10 years). It mainly manifested as bone pain, osteomalacia, and scoliosis in the late stage and was accompanied by obvious proximal renal tubular damage (severe hypophosphatemia, hypokalemia, hypocalcemia, hypouricemia, glycosuria, protein urine, acidosis, etc.) and renal function damage (increased creatinine and azotemia). The pathological findings included mitochondrial swelling and deformity in renal tubular epithelial cells. The above symptoms and signs were relieved after drug withdrawal, but the scoliosis was difficult to rectify. Fanconi syndrome secondary to tacrolimus has a single manifestation, increased creatinine, which can be easily confused with tacrolimus nephrotoxicity. However, it is often ineffective to reduce the dose of tacrolomus, and proximal renal failure can be found in the later stage of disease development. There was no abnormality in the bone metabolism index and imageological examination findings. The creatinine level decreased rapidly, the proximal renal tubule function returned to normal, and no severe electrolyte imbalance or urinary component loss occurred when the immunosuppression was changed from tacrolimus to cyclosporine A.ConclusionsFor the first time, drug-induced Fanconi syndrome after kidney transplantation was reported. These results confirmed that the long-term use of ADV or tacrolimus after kidney transplantation may have serious consequences, some of which are irreversible. Greater understanding of Fanconi syndrome after kidney transplantation is necessary in order to avoid incorrect and missed diagnosis.

Detecting defects in grounded flat steel is essential for ensuring the safety and reliability of transmission tower grounding devices. However, traditional inspection methods, such as physical excavation and verification, are costly and time-consuming. This paper proposes a corrosion defect detection method for flat steel transmission tower grounding devices based on electromagnetic ultrasonic SH waves. In addition, using commercial software, a three-dimensional finite element simulation model of grounded flat steel with simulated pitting corrosion defects is constructed. The specified displacements applied to multiple surface sources mimic the horizontal shear vibrations generated by the electromagnetic ultrasonic transducer on the surface of the grounded flat steel during actual inspection. A simulation was used to investigate the propagation and attenuation characteristics of shear-horizontal ultrasonic SH0guided waves for simulated corrosion defects with various geometric configurations in grounded flat steel. The simulation investigated the propagation and attenuation characteristics of the SH0 wave in grounded flat steel and the detection of various defects for linear analysis of the results. The simulation results show that the attenuation of the electromagnetic ultrasonic guided wave is small, at only 0.0016 dB/mm, and the displacement amplitude of the echo signal decreases with the increase of the SH0 wave propagation distance. Increasing the depth and length of corrosion defects increases the echo signal amplitude. At the same time, the width of corrosion defects has little effect on the echo amplitude. Finally, a flat steel defect detection experiment was conducted, and the experimental results fit with the simulation to verify the accuracy of the simulation model. This detection method introduces a new idea for the on-site detection and quantitative identification of corrosion defects in grounded flat steel, which has significant reference value and can provide a more effective and economical method for ensuring the safety and dependability of transmission tower grounding devices.

The interface pressure between the cable attachment and the body is crucial for the stable long-term operation of the cable. To solve the issue of interface insulation characteristics’ damage caused by the pressure transducer measurement method, a non-destructive testing method of silicone rubber interface pressure using nonlinear ultrasound is presented. Initially, the study analyzes the propagation characteristics of ultrasonic waves at the interface of cross-linked polyethylene and silicone rubber. The study also establishes the relationship between the nonlinear coefficient and the interface pressure. Subsequently, a nonlinear ultrasonic test platform is constructed using the pulse reflection method to measure the interface pressure of flat silicone rubber and cross-linked polyethylene through nonlinear ultrasonic testing. Theoretical and experimental results indicate that the fundamental amplitude of the frequency domain of the interface reflection wave decreases, and the second harmonic amplitude and nonlinear coefficient both increase as pressure increases. These results demonstrate that the nonlinear ultrasound, non-destructive testing method can accurately evaluate the interfacial pressure state of the cable accessories.

A capacitive coupling sensor for partial discharge detection with the fusion of high voltage XLPE cable joint is designed in this paper. The sensor is to address partial discharge signals leading to transmission attenuation and external interference causing poor field detection sensitivity. First, a coaxial waveguide transmission model was established of high-frequency electrical signals in the body and joint. The result showed that the signal transmission attenuation was minimized while the sensor electrodes were closely attached to the outer semi-conductive layer of the body. Second, the equivalent circuit model was constructed of the capacitive coupling sensor fused with the 110 kV straight passing joint. The specific installation location, main structure size, detection bandwidth, and sensitivity of the sensor in the joint area were determined, which was to maximize the coupling output signal amplitude and transfer function amplitude. Finally, a lightning surge voltage test was carried out with the integration of the fusion of the joint voltage thermal cycling. Simulation and measurement show the following: while the sensor is installed in the cable metal sleeve break and the electrodes are closed to the overall semi-conductive layer, there is excellent performance for partial discharge detection in the frequency range of 1–300 MHz, with a sensitivity of 5 pC.

To study the influence of the laser power, scanning speed, and cleaning water content on the laser cleaning effect and obtain the best cleaning parameters, this paper conducted a simulation analysis of the laser cleaning process and carried out a pulse laser cleaning of porcelain insulators experiment to verify. The results show that the cleaning rate gradually increases as the laser power increases from 20 W to 25 W. As the scanning speed increases from 1000 mm/s to 2500 mm/s, the laser overlapping rate gradually decreases, and the cleaning takes the lead in increasing and then decreasing. The appropriate cleaning water content is conducive to laser cleaning; when the water content is 0.115 g, the cleaning efficiency reaches the highest value of 98.20%. When the laser power is 25 W, and the scanning speed is 2000 mm/s, the cleaning efficiency can reach the highest value of 96.87%. This paper shows that the reasonable choice of cleaning parameters can effectively clean the insulator surface filth and obtain a better surface morphology.

The surface discharge development processes of polluted porcelain insulators for power transmission lines are tightly related with the development of leakage current (LC), the characteristics of LC, the insulating condition, and discharge intensity of the insulator surface have an important significance for revealing the contamination discharge state of insulators. In order to analyze the LC characteristics of porcelain insulators in the process of pollution flashover, artificial pollution flashover tests on porcelain insulators were conducted in the artificial fog cabinet, and the characteristics of LC waveforms in time-domain and frequency-domain were simultaneously measured and analyzed during the tests. The results indicated that the amplitude of LC, fundamental harmonic, the third harmonic, and fifth harmonic had a strong correlation, the maximum of LC(Im), the rate of total harmonics (THD), and the phase difference of fundamental harmonic (θ) were used for the representation of the characteristics of the LC waveform. The LC has the characteristics of high amplitude, low proportion harmonic, and small phase difference between the fundamental harmonic and voltage before the flashover occurrence. The test results provide effective reference for porcelain insulators in pollution flashover forecasting.

The traditional power grid ticket filling method has a large workload, low efficiency, and cannot achieve comprehensive and effective reference of historical tickets. This paper proposes a method of intelligent filling in a power grid working ticket based on a historical ticket knowledge base. Firstly, the historical ticket data are preprocessed, then the historical ticket information is mined by the association rule algorithm, and the method of establishing the historical ticket knowledge base is proposed. Based on the improved word bag model, an intelligent grid work ticket filling model is established based on the historical ticket knowledge base, and the correctness of the method is verified by an example. The results show that the accuracy of the proposed method is at least 18% higher than that of the traditional model, and the matching efficiency is 50% higher than the evaluation results of the three models based on semantic expressions. The method enables the identification and extraction of similar and associated work tickets, improves the efficiency of filling work tickets for power grids, and promotes the intelligence of the safety procedures for power grid operations.

A fundamental parameter of polluted insulator online monitoring is the leakage current, which has already been shown to be well-related to the pollution discharge of insulators. In this article, in an effort to quantitatively reflect the discharge intensity and the discharge status by the leakage current, we carried out an experimental study on artificial pollution discharge of insulators. A high-speed photographic apparatus was utilized to capture the entire process of local arcs on a porcelain insulator surface, including the arc generation, the arc development, and the flashover, for which the associated leakage current of insulators was synchronously digitized. A comparative analysis of the relation between the two-dimensional discharge image and the leakage current waveform in the process of arc generation and development shows that if the arc area on the insulator surface is relatively small and the leakage current passes through zero, the arc might completely become extinct, whereas this phenomena will not occur if the arc area is larger. In addition, the amplitude of the discharge arc area is found to be roughly proportional to the square of leakage current over the range of leakage current amplitude from 0 to 150 mA. Our results can provide an important guidance for judgment of the discharge status and the discharge intensity on insulator surfaces using the leakage current of insulators.

BackgroundKidney transplantation from donors who weigh ≤5 kg is performed at only a few transplant centers owing to the high complication and low graft survival rates associated with this approach.MethodsWe retrospectively compared the results of kidney transplantation at our center between January 2015 and December 2019 based on the following pediatric donor criteria: donor body weight ≤5 kg (n=32), 5 kg< donor weight ≤20 kg (n=143), and donor weight >20 kg (n=110). We also perform subgroup analysis of kidney transplantation outcomes from ≤5 kg donors, using conventional (dual separate and classic en-bloc KTx)/novel (en-bloc KTx with outflow tract) surgical methods and allocating to adult/pediatric recipients.ResultsThe death-censored graft survival rates from extremely low body weight ≤5kg at 1 month, and 1, 3, and 5 years were 90.6%, 80.9%, 77.5%, and 73.9%, respectively, which were significantly lower than that from larger body weight pediatric donors. However, the 3-, and 5-year post-transplantation eGFRs were not significantly different between the pediatric and adult recipient group. The thrombosis (18.8%) and urinary leakage (18.8%) rates were significantly higher in the donor weight ≤5 kg group. Compared with 5 kg< donor weight ≤20 kg group, donor weight ≤5kg group was at elevated risk of graft loss due to thrombosis (OR: 13.4) and acute rejection (OR: 6.7). No significant difference on the outcomes of extremely low body weight donor kidney transplantation was observed between adults and pediatric recipients. Urinary leakage rate is significantly lower in the novel operation (8.7%) than in the conventional operation group (44.4%).ConclusionsAlthough the outcomes of donor body weight ≤5kg kidney transplantation is inferior to that from donors with large body weight, it can be improved through technical improvement. Donors with body weight ≤5 kg can be considered as an useful source to expand the donor pool.

The leakage current, which is influenced by the operating voltage, the surface contamination, and environmental variables, is one of the most basic online monitoring parameters for the surface contamination status of insulators. However, the impact of temperature and humidity on leakage current have not been expressed concisely nor distinguished according to sunny and rainy weather. In this paper, based on leakage current online monitoring data, the time-domain waveforms of leakage current of an insulator string in Shenzhen, China, were compared with those of the ambient temperature and humidity. Results indicate that the leakage current presents a saddle-shaped curve on days without rain, and that there is a remarkable positive correlation between leakage current and humidity as well as a negative correlation between leakage current and temperature. In a short period (several days) without rain, as long as the relative humidity keeps constant, the leakage current would vary insignificantly, whereas it may vary in a wide range at the same temperature. Moreover, the functional relation mathematical model I = a * eb*RH between the first harmonic component of leakage current and the relative humidity is presented, inferring that the insulator string leakage current depends mainly on the ambient relative humidity in a day without rain.

Nanoparticles and sub-microrods of cubic CeO2 were selectively prepared via an ethylendiamine tetraacetate (EDTA)-assisted route. They were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and infrared (IR) techniques. Controlling the reaction process, we obtained CeO2 with different shapes. Sub-microrods were formed via an incomplete reaction while uniform nanoparticles were formed through a complete reaction between NaClO3 and Ce–EDTA complexes. The addition of EDTA was critical to obtain CeO2 sub-microrods and nanoparticles. Other experimental conditions, such as EDTA/Ce3+ molar ratio and the reaction time were of importance in the final product morphology. A possible formation mechanism of CeO2 was discussed. Abstract??The single-crystalline ?-FeOOH hollow nanorods with a diameter ranging from 20?30?nm and length in the range of 70?110?nm have been successfully synthesized through a two-step route in the solution. The phase transformation and the morphologies of the hollow ?-FeOOH nanorods were investigated with X-ray powdered diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electric diffraction (SAED), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), infrared spectrum (IR) and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA). These studies indicate that the first step is an incomplete-reaction course. Furthermore, The formation mechanism of the hollow nanorods has been discussed. Due to lacking the measurement results of magnetic properties under rotational magnetization, the application of nanocrystalline alloys for high-power system energy conservation has been limited. In this paper, a high-frequency rotational magnetic property testing system is first introduced. Base on the testing system, the rotating loci of the vector magnetic flux density B and the vector magnetic field strength H are measured. Finally, the rotational core loss and anisotropy of nanocrystalline alloys are discussed and analyzed.

The article discusses the solvothermal method used in preparing tin dioxide hollow nanospheres. In this method, a complex compound is used as a precursor and reactant. Water is also used as another reactant. Complex compound between tin and hexamethylene tetramine with hollow nanospheres shape is prepared first, then the complex compound is hydrolyzed in the solvothermal process. Water and ethanol affect the solvothermal process due to its effect of ligand institute.

The core–shell nanostructures have the advantages of combining distinctive properties of varied materials and improved properties over their single-component counterparts. Synthesis approaches for this class of nanostructures have been intensively explored, generally involving multiple steps. Here, a general and convenient strategy is developed for one-step in situ synthesis of various carbon-encapsulated nanocrystals with a core–shell structure via a solid-state reaction of metallocene complexes with (NH4)2S2O8 in an autoclave at 200 °C. A variety of near-spherical and equiaxed nanocrystals with a small median size ranging from 6.5 to 50.6 nm are prepared as inner cores, including Fe7S8, Ni3S4 and NiS, CoS, TiO2, TiO2 and S8, ZrO2, (NH4)3V(SO4)3 and VO2, Fe7S8 and Fe3O4, MoS2 and MoO2. The worm-like carbon shell provides exclusive room for hundreds of nanocrystals separated from each other, preventing nanocrystal aggregation. The synergistic effect of ammonium and a strong oxidizing anion on the electrophilic oxidation of metallocene complexes containing a metal–ligand π bond contributes to the carbon formation at low temperature. It is considered that the cyclopentadienyl ligand in a metallocene complex will decompose into highly reactive straight chain olefinic pieces and the metal–olefin π interaction enables an ordered self-assembly of olefinic pieces on nanocrystals to partially form graphitizable carbon and a core–shell structure. The high capacity, good cycling behavior and rate capability of Fe7S8@C and Ni3S4 and NiS@C electrodes are attributed to the good protection and electrical conductivity of the carbon shell.
